This place is ridiculous. They charged me for one month + extras for whatever one time fee on Feb. 7 now I check my account and another $25 was deducted from my account... it’s Feb. 18. It’s only 11 days apart..? I’ve called about 10 times and no one will pick up the phone.

They need to also fix there personal trainer situations, I signed up for one and he left so I lost my agreement with them and was left in limbo. I will never go back to this gym and will NEVER reccomened it to anyone!

I like it. But I think for what I pay .I have the most expensive membership. That it should be better in lots of ways. First if you pay like 40$ a month (rounding up.) There should be at least fresh clean towels, not the little clothes they give us and we should each be giving a choice if we want or need a personal locker there.and the showers are deplorable to me at least. I mean I could go on but I choose not to. I'll just leave that at that buts what I've listed isn't every bad experience. Just want to get that out there maybe they'll read this and they'll make some changes. At least when your a VIP member

Worst experience ever they are just deducted money from your account. Even you are paying regular biweekly payment they are still charging biweekly payment plus other hidden charges. I highly suggest don’t take membership at world gym.

I am thoroughly disappointed with this company as a whole. I have paid for 3 months of personal training that I have not recieved. When I told them I couldn't return to my membership due to the pandemic I was told I could put it on a 2 month hold or eat it. The pandemic will not be over in 2 months and I refuse to loose hundreds of dollars. The real kicker is they want me to pay for the remainder of my membership ( this is the amount they just removed without notification of charging accounts again) in order to get out it even though it states "free cancellation". They are crooks, who do not care to help you.

I have not been to the world gym in years. I cancelled my membership but apparently you have been billing me anyways. Check the last time I signed into the gym.. I have tried to cancel over the phone and was told I need to come into the gym (even during covid-19). I went twice and no manager was there to actually cancel my membership. And now your saying this will be sent to a collections company. CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP AND STOP CHARGING ME!

I had to go in to cancel my membership and the girl on the phone told me that I didn’t have to pay to cancel my membership and then the manager told me I hade to pay it.Plus there email system doesn’t work at all so I’ve got charged $80 for not knowing my payments didn’t go through during the pandemic while they were closed.Every bad review is absolutely 100% REAL!

I love working out at World Gym at night. I usually go with a friend. I love that there's usually not busy, there are tons of machines available, music or your buds. It's a very clean place and the employee that works at night is nice to look at ;) That helps too! Good job World Gym!

My brother called to cancel his membership as he can not go due to covid to just ensure the safety of our grandma especially. They told him he had to speak to a manager or he could write a letter and drop it off at 7am. He went in the next morning and was told to mail it instead... waste of time for him to be told to mail a letter he had in his hand to be given to the place he was already at. Our friend had also mentioned when he noticed that world gym froze his membership during covid and then took out all the payments at once from his bank account. I dont think management is efficiently handling the best interest of their clients but just trying to take peoples money during this rough time.

This gym has literally the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I've had so many issues with my account here and every time I have to deal with it, each employee has been rude and also incompetent. I don't know if they aren't trained properly or they're all just terrible at communicating but it has been a huge pain every time I've had to go there or call them in regards to my account. It has overall been an extremely frustrating experience and I'll be canceling my membership there immediately.

It's unfortunate I am forced to give World Gym even one star. I agree with others who have posted here that the team are all smiles on joining, but when I tried to give my notice in person, in November, that I was canceling end of April, I was treated terribly. Your cancellation has to be in writing. I asked if I could write it there and then, and they wouldn't let me. I emailed, and that wasn't good enough still. Yet now, two months after my April contract date, I have been invited to the gym, when a manager is present, to complete a cancellation form. If I had been allowed to give my notice in November of not renewing after April, I would have not incurred additional charges. It's a racket. It is all about the money and not about health at all. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

I absolutely love this gym ! It is so clean , really nice members and fantastic staff ! Finding a gym i was comfortable at was really important to me seeing as i'm there 4-5 days week. I'm so happy i found this gym. Best staff of any gym I've been to as well ! Any issues i always deal with Bre or Rebecca and they're amazing but any other member can help as well ! GREAT JOB

Unfortunately they haven’t made the Switch to Crunch which really sucks because 95% of the company has when they haven’t and unfortunately I can’t use my crunch membership there! Easy to take a client's money but when you want to cancel a membership it's the hardest thing you can ever do. They tell you to go into cancel to the branch and you can cancel it only at the branch you signed up for but they forget to tell you the manager has to do it because no one else can. They just keep charging you and charging you they will not do anything for you. And then you go in and there's no manager so in other words I have to come back just so I can speak to a manager to cancel my membership. Absolutely disgusting. Learned my lesson and this is one place I will not be going to or recommending to anyone.

Cancelled my membership after only 2 days due to the gym sanitary conditions. They continued to try and charge my bank account after the fact. Getting calls years later now from creditors asking for the money. Called the gym to plead my case and was told too bad from the staff. I would never recommend this gym. Stay away from this place.

I have been here for a month and the gym is good!! Great machines, no problems there. But...when it comes to the child care that's a whole different story. The room is extremely hot and the floors are hard as rock. The first problem I had was when I came to pick my son up and his lip is bleeding. Asked what had happened and they told me they were not watching him so they couldn't tell me. Canceled my membership the next day but I have continued to go to finish out the month I paid and hope nothing else happens. Today I come to pick up my son and he's no where to be seen. Ask where is he? (BTW he's only just turned two not potty trained) they told me that they put him in the bathroom because he said he peed!!!! BY HIMSELF. Mind you, the door is extremely heavy no way he can get out without help. I open the door he's standing there looking scared and bathroom chemicals on the shelf beside him. Like are you joking me!!! For such great prices the child care is not worth it. I hope you get where I'm coming from and go somewhere where your children are safe...

If there is zero i will rate this gym zero. They are taking money from me and my partner even though we tried everything to cancel... calls, email, walkin, mail. Still they are taking money. Be carefule. I will just call my bank. Manager only works on 9 to 5 which is also my working hours. No manager after 5pm to take cancellation. So when you become a member make sure you can cancel anytime without any manager. They are taking your money and they dont care if its covid.

A decent gym in Niagara falls for the price you pay. The only issues I have are the business around the adjustable cable machines and PEC fly/rear delt machine. I would suggest investing in more of them as there are few. More rope handles would also be nice because there's only 2 and sometimes they dissapear I believe into the women's only section. I was also promised wifi when I joined almost a year ago and nothing's come about. I like to watch Netflix when I do cardio and I can't, even though I know the staff have wifi, I've seen them on it and they've told me it's not their own personal data. Lastly, the gym is very hot. Sometimes I'll find when I'm pushing myself in a workout I'll start to not feel good because of the heat. I'll go to the only cold room which is the personal training room to cool off and then get asked to leave because I'm not a personal training client. Even though I've never once seen anyone in there to be trained ever, so not like I'm bugging anyone. Aside from that it's a good facility that's always clean, with nice change rooms, and a good community.

If there were an option for zero stars that is what I would choose. No regard for people using equipment for long periods of time , and no policy on this. So be prepared to wait for things. No enforcement of any rules as far as etiquette and fees that will be charged twice a year per person.

I have been a member of this gym for almost a year and plan to cancel next month. Any workout that I have felt amazing walking away from has been in spite of the atmosphere here. The equipment is close together, the music is loud to the extent that we have to shout to hear each other, you will always have to wait for a machine at least once or twice in your workout, there are entire rooms blocked off and machines out of service, and the contracts they give out shouldn't be permitted. It was my mistake signing up with these guys and so, I'll wait it out until my contract is up. For anyone else thinking about signing up, definitely check it out first to see if it's your vibe and think twice before committing to a contract.

I am passionate about fitness, thus I feel the need to share this review I wrote and would not normally do this. However, I did not enjoy my experience at World Gym Niagara Falls today. At around 1:50pm on May 15, 2018, there was an employee who asked me to leave because as a guest, I have to be with a member at all times. Seeing as my dad literally had to leave on urgency, then come back within 5 minutes was inconvenient. I understand this is a policy, however you have to give someone consideration if they give you a valid reason. As this incident was happening, there were other guys who were getting in no problem without being scanned, and essentially doing the same thing. I’m just wondering why nothing was being done to stop them and how lenient these employees were being towards others walking through in front of my own eyes. I felt that this was all done in an unprofessional manner from start to finish. My family members are all within the VIP memberships, thus I proceed to go in as a guest majority of the time without any issues. As we were talking this matter out with the manager (Breanna), they both showed no interest in apologizing or trying to understand our situation. At the same time, the employee (Char) was telling her friends about it in the corner, while I was still in her presence. If the employee suggested maybe having a day pass option or kindly telling me other option, rather than following me into the change room and kicking me out, then I would have potentially considered and wouldn’t be angered on how this approach went. I did not appreciate being followed into the change room, not having told anything as a warning, and having to be kicked out of the facility extremely disappointed. This could have all been discussed at the front desk with my father present, not after the fact that he left, needed to be phone called to return and the employee having to come into the change room just to kick me out. As a result, I unfortunately had to cancel my family’s memberships as we were not pleased with the service of the employees. I hope that this doesn't happen to others in the future and that people may continue flourish in a positive, encouraging atmosphere - like their philosophy states

I started off going to this gym a couple of months after it had open. I really enjoyed the experience to begin with the gym was clean had many machines to use and a basketball court all at a low price. However as time went on they began having open houses ( obviously to get more members) which is where things took a turn for the worst once maybe even twice a month would be fine as long as the people are watched but it seemed like once every week the gym becomes over filled with people that have no consideration of the weights or machines. More than once I've accidentally come in during an open house and I've began to try and use a machine that to my surprise is broken in some way. Good job for the workers as they do a good job of getting the machines fixed but it shouldn't be a problem in the first place. Anyone coming in should respect the equipment. I find the concept of an open house great but I've even tried to switch the days. I go to avoid it but somehow always end up going during it (only time my schedule allows is after 5). I hope in the future they decide to slow down on the open houses. Other than that great gym.

World gym niagara falls is an awful gym, they do not keep up with cleaning standards, have rude and unhelpful employees, and to top it all off are thieves. For the second time now world gym has charged me 4 separate transactions on 2 different days, they are not only rude when “explaining” these charges, but are extremely unhelpful, I asked several times to be provided with a corporate number or to be put in touch with management and neither request was met. I have been trying to cancel my membership for a while now and the gym says they require a 60 day notice as well as an additional charge for cancellation (even though upon signing up that isn’t stated). they won’t allow me to cancel over the phone, one email, or in person, so before you think of signing up to this gym, read any of the reviews on this page and go from there, they will overcharge you and they won’t be helpful with any resolutions. awful business

This place’s front operator is a not nice. I want to given zero star if I could. Because I moved to Calgary AB before they reopen. And I want to cancel my membership by phone. They don’t want to cancel the membership until I go in person or mail them. I explained they locked down for a long time. We tried go there and called them many times. No head office no pick up. The attitude of them seems very reasonable and strong. NO CUSTOMER SERVICES at all.

*UPDATE* after going to the BBB, the manager contacted me and admitted that the employee I cancelled with was "new" and wasn't aware of the cancellation process, therefore accepted my cancellation when it was supposed to be "handled by a manager". They have honoured my cancellation from April, and took away the fees. I am satisfied, 2 stars for you world gym. I cancelled my membership over 60 days ago (back in April or something) via a hand written letter, got confirmation via email that it was cancelled. they charged me for the next month, which was fine (60 day notice or something), but continued to try and charge me after the 60 days. contacted customer service, who were absolutely no help and told me they would not accept my hand-written cancellation and that I had to come in and speak with a manager... the only problem is, THE MANAGER IS NEVER THERE! they still try charging me, and then add on 35 dollars NFS fee for every attempt they do. ridiculous. stay.away.

The price is right, but the cleanliness is low.. I've seen people mopping the floor,stop to make a smoothie and not wash their hands. My girlfriend has seen female employees use the washroom facilities and not wash their hands before returning to work. Change rooms mopped with dirty mop water. Stand up tanning booth gets incredibly dusty by the fan. Staff seem friendly enough depending on the day.

The absolute WORST customer service. I went into the gym to sign up and the girl at the desk said to just "go home and do it online" I also missed out on their $5 enrollment promo due to her lack of customer service (informing potential clients of promos). I went back in a week later (because it was now more money to enroll online) only to find out it was the previous months promo that was $5. If I was properly informed the first time I would have enrolled that day and they would of had 2 new VIP paying customers.

Sure the price sounds great..only $10 a month, but the cleanliness is extremely poor. The mirrors in the women's section are disgusting. I've seen the same water stains, hand prints and dust on there for over 3 months now!! Like what is it that their staff is doing all night that no one can grab some windex and clean the glass?? Half of the attachments to the machines are missing and much of the equipment is in serious need of some maintaining. If the hours weren't so convenient then I would go somewhere else.

Very clean gym. Good training environment and plenty of machines. From time to time got a little crowded and the machine you were looking for was being used, but you always have other machines to select. During the pandemia I felt safe because they implemented cleaning and distancing rules and 98% of members followed those rules. Very, very inexpensive compared to the benefits you get.

The employees are very rude. I don't know the name, but the woman employee (manager/assistant manager) with really short brown hair and tattoos was extremely rude as I tried to cancel my membership. I have been trying to cancel a membership for 6 months. Every time I come in I am told that we have to wait for a manager to cancel and there is no option to cancel over the phone or online. I was finaly able to cancel but was still forced to pay for two months and a cancellation fee. I don't think it would've been such a big issue but the employee I spoke to was so extremely rude when I explained my issue with cancelling, I don't understand how she is able to talk to customers that way.

Charges a one month cancellation fee for leaving even though I'm outside of the one year contract. Literally charged me to leave. Don't trust their lowest membership, it's full of secondary fees and only exist so they can advertise a false rate. If I could give zero stars I would. After going in to cancel my membership in 2019 (because you can’t call or email to cancel) I was sent a bill in 2021 for $481 from a collection agency!!! No calls to emails no nothing! Just 2 years of not attending this gym thinking my membership was cancelled to apparently owe $500. This gym has zero communication skills and will rob you. Be careful!

Nice gym overall, but there's only one problem, their not open 24/7. In my opinion, there's only one gym here in Niagara Falls, that's open, 24/7 and I also highly recommend it, this place is called... SIMPLY FIT.... and it's located, on, Drummond and Dunn street.

Its a scam. Please do not go to this gym. They have the worst cancellation process. Rude associates and managers.They called me after a year to tell me payments weren't getting deducted from my account and that this is no fault of theirs as per their 'contract'. No one ever contacted me about the payments in a year. So were they sleeping all this time instead of doing their job?

I have been trying to cancel for over a year now. They send you through the ringer....I couldn’t cancel in person, couldn’t cancel through an email, can’t call in, it is a must to send a letter, so I send a letter and they “can’t find it”, finally after 1 year of trying-and numerous emails with the manager- I take a picture of a post it note reading: Cancel my membership Signed And they cancel, and are ever so kind to not charge me the required 60 days notice fee. Absolutely 0 customer service skills/training/policies. They show no sympathy or empathy for the situation and only stand by their policies. What a disgraceful company! The staff is rude to tip it all off. If you want to pay $10 or $20 a month for a gym, just remember you pay for what you get! It has costed me an extra $345, just to cancel. Let that sink in. I wish I could give it 0 stars.

Love the Zumba and soccacize classes but not impressed with the staff in the daycare. Brought my 6 month old daughter for the first time today and they didn’t take her out of the car seat for the 70 mins she was there!

Great facility, really clean and well kept by the staff. Is smaller than the St. Catharines facility but makes up for it with better and newer equipment. I really like this building and the peak hours are a lot more manageable to complete workouts without having to wait for machines.

Awful gym. Tried cancelling my membership several times and Everytime I tried I was told the manager wasn't available so I couldn't do it. They charged me for several months membership even tho I tried cancelling several times. And then when I finally got a manager to cancel it they charged me 50$ to cancel. Will never be returning and I will always recommend people not to come here. Awful service that I didn't use for months and yet they kept charging my bank account. Do not sign a contract with these people.

They automatically withdraw money from our credit card, without any prior notice. The lady said because they are now open so it is their right to just withdraw money. And it sounds that I do not have any right to be informed. They took that right away from me. They did not even ask you if you want to renew or continue or even tell you their covid plans. Nothing. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY. DO THEY EVEN CARE DURING THIS PANDEMIC SEASON OR THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT $$$. Now I challenge the management to make this right. Let us see if they will even make it right.

I find it totally gross that in these times of covid you want to charge us an extra 2 months to cancel are membership. I haven't even gone the last 4 months you charged me for, don't you think thats enough free money.its disgusting when most of us are canceling because we no longer have a job ... way to work with us world gym! Also find it funny that in this time of social distancing you can't call and cancel over the phone you now want me to drive in from welland to do it in person ! Throw us a bone already ! Pretty gross to have to go through this after being a member for 2 years !

Filthy by Gym standards. Worst customer service ever. Trying to cancel your membership more painful than pain from kidney stones. The staff is very rude. They talk to you as if you have robbed them, while they are the one robbing you. I would never go there again.

So my friend ended up homeless and moved out of the city. She sent a letter to the gym advising them of her status and regretfully she needed to cancel her membership. She followed the hand written letter with an email, which World Gym admitted to receiving and ignoring. The proceeded to continue to take money out of my friends account and refused to allow her to cancel her membership even though my friend was homeless. Yesterday they took another $80.00 from my friends bank account, after a mailed letter, an email which was ignored and a phone call. Basically they took all the money she had for food for the rest of this month. She has no way to get to Niagara Falls now that she lives 2 hours away on a friends couch. I get there is such a thing as a contract, however, there is also something called extenuating circumstances. To me this is a poor way to treat people. If life wasn't difficult enough for some people thanks World Gym for making life even harder on people who tried to do the right thing. I give you a ZERO star in humanity.
