The power plex is a great series of hardwood courts. There are four full size basketball courts with professional tier baskets. These are partitioned by large blue cloth dividers that can be removed to increase space. Staffing is sparse but helpful. There is some seating for spectators.

We like the playgroups held here on school day mornings. Awesome place for social and recreational activities for my 20 month old. Good for 0-pre school age kids. Also adult sports played here during the week !! Huge Indoor complex.

This is one of the worst run facilities in this province. Parking sucks. So people park everywhere including the fire lane and nothing is done about it. The building is almost completely inaccessible for the public or emergency vehicles. No food. Only vending machines that eat your money. No water. Yeah... that's what I said. A provincial sports facility with no access to drinking water for the athletes. Poorly maintained washroom facilities. Uncomfortable for spectators. Staff can be rude at times. Whenever we are scheduled there I dread it.

ActiveStart is one of the best free activities to do with young kids in St. John's. Lots of space to run around, a great new side area for very young children too.
