The Fredericton Judo Club is the perfect club. The instructors are extremely high level (Olympians and world masters!) the rates are low, the classes are frequent and the members are amazing people. They are so open to accepting and training new members, as soon as you go you'll start to feel like a part of a family.

Great club. Enhanced my grappling leaps and bounds. A solid team of competitors and a friendly place to learn and fight. Good coaches and a very good approach to judo, the sport and grappling arts in general.

I parked my car near the building one day, walked in and kept coming back for the past 2 years. My girlfriend does not understand why I put on white fight pajamas and come home sweaty 5 times a week but she just accepts it. My friends do not understand that the quality of instruction and high level of knowledge at this judo club. All they know is that I enjoy this sport and this club is part of it.

I have been in few judo clubs around Canada and I can say this judo club is one of the greatest judo clubs in Canada and for sure the greatest judo club in Atlantic! I trained there and everyone are very friendly and helpful. Also it's a very competitive club. So, if someone is looking to compete, Fredericton judo club would be the best option. Just stop by and you'll fall in love with this club. Once you become a member you'll be a member for life.

It is Kevin MacLean. Been a part of this club off and on since 1997. It has grown into a very strong club, not just judo but overall grappling. Very strong newaza (groundwork). We cross train with different BJJ clubs which has been beneficial to all. If anyone in the Fredericton area is looking for a strong grappling club you are fortunate to have a few good choices in the city, however since I am biased I would recommend the Fredericton Judo Club.

I had an amazing time here! They're very helpful, respectful, and welcoming. It feels like a family. I got extremely high level instruction there as well. They have multiple olympians and national champions to train with. You'll have a really fun time there!

Started judo at the FJC in University and it's a very welcoming atmosphere. The instructors are incredible and experienced and the culture is one that really is about pushing you to do your best and a little bit more. If you're looking for a place to start learning judo, even if you have absolutely no experience in any form of fighting (like myself), you will be hard pressed to find a better environment.

Been a member of this club for over 20 years. It is a great place to learn judo, grappling in general, and to get in shape. To me (and I'm sure to others) the club is like a second home. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and members are treated like family. The instructor base is very large, with our head instrucor being a 7th degree black belt, 1984 olympian, and chair of the national grading board. There are classes for kids to adult, beginner to advanced, recreational and competitive, the Fredericton Judo Club offers it all, although I will say in general the club is more competitively focused. Everyone is pushed to be the best they can be. Classes for kids are twice a week, while adults have the option to practice as much as 6 times per week if they wish. I think one of our members (and senior national silver medalist) put it best when my wife was asking a new member why they decided to try judo. He said to them "We all started for different reasons, but we all stayed for the same. This club is awesome!" And I couldn't agree more. The Fredericton Judo Club has been such a huge part of my, and my family's, lives.

Me and my three children did judo at the Fredericton Judo Club before moving out province. This club offers the highest level of any combat sport training in the region. The club has produced numerous national champions, including my daughter who is a two-time national medallist. One thing is clear about the FJC- it produces some of the toughest most resilient fighters I have encountered. The program is lead by a former Olympian and Chair of the National Grading Board of Judo Canada, with a line-up of high level instructors that offer a wide range of fighting expertise. In fact, the level of skill at this judo club is higher than any other club in any other sport in the region- including non-martial sports such as hockey, basketball, etc. This club is recognized across the country and around the world. The club is non-profit, which is a hallmark of the judo world. Judo is a global sport, the second most popular in the world. It is played the same in Japan, Brazil, South Africa, India, France... and when people from the FJC travel to those and other areas, they hold their own and in most cases flatten judo players due to skills they learn at the Fredericton Club. This judo club is very special to me and my family, and we miss it dearly.
