I recently signed up for a one year membership here. The staff at the front desk as well as the security guards are alway very friendly and cheery (not always an easy feat at 6am).
I only use the weight room, which is always spotless and has tonnes of cardio equipment available. The cardio machines are awesome, with tv, netflix, radio and plenty of other options built right in. There are plenty of bottles of cleaner and towels and I think pretty much every machine gets cleaned by the user after they're done using it. The weight room staff is often cleaning as well and it makes an overall very clean gym.
I find the plate weights to be lacking severly as there's big old metal plates and only a few newer rubber coated plates (pretty much the industry standard for the last ten years at least).
My main gripe with the weight room is the dumbbells. They are of great quality (despite being three different styles), but they are all on the racks backwards and often out of order. The weights should be on racks with the lightest in the top row starting on the left and getting heavier as you go right, ending with the heaviest dumbbells on the bottom row. In fact, there is one set that goes from 20-50lbs and another style that goes from 55-100. These two racks should be next to one another with the top row across both racks going from 20-50 and the bottom rack going from 55-100. This is standard in pretty much every other gym I have set foot in.
the other thing is, there are a few pieces of equipment that are missing, namely a seated bench for doing seated shoulder presses and triceps overhead extensions and a chesty fly machine (pec deck)
The dumbbell issue would be easy to correct and I have even offered to do so, but the staff didn't seem too receptive.
