Before I met Matt, I suffered with back pain for 20 years, I suffered with shoulder pain for 15 years, I suffered with knee pain for 6 years and most recently would get headaches that would sometimes last 6 months long. Before I met Matt, I was going to the chiropractor and masseuse weekly just to maintain somewhat of a normal life. I would frequently fall down the stairs because my knees would give out and twice I even fell holding my infant son. About a year and a half ago, I ended up breaking my rib from falling and it was a big wake up call that I needed to find a better approach to my health. I'm only 35 years old, what was my body going to be like at 50? I have now been working with Matt for 4 months. After 4 months of mobility training, I am 99% pain free. I still have bad days here and there, but they are few and far between. I'm amazed that I can walk 20,000 steps in a day and feel no pain, I'm amazed that I can stand at an event for 8 hours and feel no pain, I'm amazed that I don't have to second guess myself every time I come down the stairs, I'm amazed that I can play and keep up with my kids, I'm amazed that I only have to see the chiropractor for check ups once a month and the masseuse is more of a luxury...but most of all, I'm amazed that my path crossed with Matt's. I have worked with many trainers in the past, but no one has ever come close to helping me the way Matt has helped.

Matt is an amazing person and a fantastic personal trainer/coach. I'm an ex NCAA athlete. I took on a sedentary lifestyle and as a result worsened existing injuries while also adding new ones. The first thing Matt did was assessed my current state and figured what needed to be done to get rid of my back and knee pain. Within a very short period of time I was able to walk up and down stairs without wincing in pain. Matt has been very attentive to the things that work for me and adjusted his workout plans to suit my needs. Not only that, but Matt is a fantastic conversationalist and cares deeply about not only your physical health a but your mental health too. Coming from a heavily yoga-informed time of my life, I never would have even imagined that I would be lifting weights in a gym. Now, after a year training with Matt, my body is more toned, I can run 8K, my mind is more resilient to mental challenges that would have previously been too much for me. I had little to no gym experience beyond Grade 9 Gym class, and could barely get through 5 pushups, which I apparently had been doing incorrectly for 25 years. I work at a desk all day and felt completely self-conscious walking into a gym full of people who look like... well... Matt. I walked into TheWreckroom about 8 months ago and met with Matt to discuss training options. Right off the bat, he made me feel comfortable in the gym environment and we put together a plan. Whether he's counting my reps when I'm too focused on getting the form right to remember what number I'm at or if he's laughing at me because my physical exertion grunts sound like cartoon noises - I know he's my biggest cheerleader, in both body mass and spirit, when it comes to my fitness journey. One of the coolest things Matt did for me was the way he tailored the workouts and explanations for me. I don't just mean which workout would physically help me reach my goal but he would explain things to me in ways I would understand... well no... first he'd use the really long scientific muscle names but then he'd use examples he knew I would understand from my life. Something he'd only be able to do if he actually got to know me and learn about my life and who I was. Matt, a.k.a. Titan Training, not only taught me so much about exercise, weightlifting and how my body works but he also did all that while allowing me to be my goofy, dancing in between sets, making inappropriate jokes -self. He not only accepted who I was but he embraced it and used it to make me a better, I wouldn't say athlete yet... but definitely a better person who works out at a gym in public. Thanks Matt. I have been training with Matt for the past 6 weeks, and have learned more in that time than I ever thought possible. Matt has a wealth of knowledge second to none, and is extremely open to sharing that knowledge with everyone and anyone. He is very approachable and genuine in his training style, but will definitely push you outside your comfort zone (in a good way...not in the “you’ll never want to come back” way!). He ensures that he caters to the needs of whoever he is training, and doesn’t simply use “cookie cutter” programs like some trainers often do. He does what will benefit the client first, and never have I felt that he did not put thorough thought into our training together. Lastly, the term “ego” comes into play when talking about some trainers, but Matt couldn’t be further away from this term; he is an awesome guy and an amazing trainer! If you are serious about results as well as enjoying the process, do yourself a favour and book an appointment with Matt. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

I've always been terrified of taking big steps. I've done casual sessions at box gyms, I dabbled in Crossfit, and I've bought home fitness equipment to avoid taking bigger measures. Nothing worked. Then I met Matt Daciw of Titan Training and the Wreckroom, Kitchener. I'll be honest, sure, I was intimidated. My mind always got in the way of what I was actually capable of. It was Matt that helped me overcome those hurdles. After only a few sessions, I was feeling stronger and lighter. One month in, I had lost 13lbs. I had a great experience with Matt at Titan Training. My goals were unusual... I needed to be ready for open heart surgery and wanted to be as fit and strong and ready as possible. Matt listened, designed a program for me , initially corrected some imbalances in my form and posture and increased mobility in my shoulders and hips. From there we moved to functional training to increase strength. I the space of four months I lost 30 lbs (very diet related) and added a ton of strength and fitness and was able to get through the surgery and recover quickly. Matt was more than my trainer and coach, he was my cheerleader, my listening post and my friend.

Perhaps others have found you helpful hence the reason I reached out but my experience with you this far has been very poor. Poor communication!!! I have been trying to reach out to you for a month with no success. You have asked me to provide you my availability which I have and its been over a month with absolutely no response. I keep getting automated e-mails to fill out the form which I have so by now you should have several emails from me. You also don’t have a phone and the location is so secluded. I feel absolutely Ignored and very disappointed. I hope you read this review and you give your future potential clients your time.

I saw Matt because I was suffering from back pain. The type of back pain that you feel from the moment you wake up and can barely get out of bed, until the moment you fall asleep. It was a gradual onset over 5 years that would come and go, but every time it came back it was worse. Eventually it just wouldn't go away. I didn't want to resort to pain killers for 2 reasons, they don't fix the problem and they are very addictive. Matt took the time to investigate my daily and weekly routines, where the pain is, what makes it better and what makes it worse. After educating me on what the reasons of my back pain he helped me understand what to do to correct what I could. He also educated me on how to strengthen the back so that it becomes stronger. He stared me off on basic strength and coordination exercises (eventhough I'm athletic) and we progressed to more difficult exercises over time. Thanks for your help Matt, I'm now pain free!

I sought out for a personal trainer to help me as I was just beginning a paramedic program and I needed to pass a rigorous lift circuit by the end of the first term in order to continue on in the program. Before beginning training with Matt, I had never lifted a weight in my life. Matt structured a program specifically for me to ensure I would be ready to succeed in my test. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable in all things about the body and it’s mechanics, he truly cares about his clients and will be your biggest cheerleader. There were countless times where I doubted myself and thought I would fail my physical test, but Matt always had confidence in me and always encouraged me. I passed my physical test and I truly could not have done it without him and his guidance and support. Some other things I accomplished with Matt were being able to do push-ups when previously I could never! We also started deadlifting and 85lbs was a struggle for me, then 7 months later and my best is 200lbs. Training with Matt was an absolute joy and I cannot speak highly enough of him.

I have been training with Matt for about 16 months now. From our first session, he impressed me with his foundational knowledge and approach. Unlike other cookie cutter programs, Matt uses a scientific method to analyze and provide an individualized strategy to achieve your goals while treating chronic musculoskeletal dysfunction and preventing further injury. I had previous gym experience and felt like I knew a lot about exercise and biomechanics, but Matt was easily able to identify my weaknesses and focus on them to obtain results I never thought were possible. While he will always push you to succeed, you will never feel forced past the point of safety. He trains for a functional healthy body, not just for beach muscles. Anyone looking for their money's worth from a personal trainer should be contacting Matt because you get far more than just an exercise program. I don't think I can find the right words for Matt. He is just an amazing person inside and out. I haven't been to a gym in a long time ok years lol. I met with Matt to discuss training sessions with him as i suffer from severe lower back pain. I walked in with a bunch of excuses and reasons as to why I won't go. He sat there listened to me and gave me the confidence and courage to get into the gym. I am at the gym 3 times a week. I push myself harder then I ever have. Matt is so knowledgeable and he created a program based on me and my capabilities. I absolutely love him from venting, to swearing at him, to calling him to keep me on track. He is one of a kind, he has helped me so much. He is an amazing trainer who takes time with each one of his clients and teaches the proper techniques. Anyone who works with him will tell you how amazing of a person he is. If anyone is ever hesitant about joining he's definatley the person to talk to and work with.
