I have not lived in Winnipeg for over two years. I went in and tried to cancel but later was told that I had not. They have been charging me and drained my “nest egg” bank account to the point it started to bounce, then started calling and drew my attention to the issue. I started off polite but dismayed and eventually wound up quite aggravated (but still polite) after several calls, explaining I don’t live in Winnipeg, being told to write a letter to a different location, writing a letter and receiving no reply, and continuing to get phone calls. They have now not only continued pulling membership fees out of the account after I pulled it back out of the red, but submitted my “missed charges” to collections. I was warned years ago that it’s nearly impossible to get out of a shapes membership but thought surely it was an exaggeration or miscommunication. I’m contacting my bank tomorrow and looking into every other avenue to complain and warn others as well! This is appalling.

The worst customer service I ever seen! Their hold policy is not written on the initial agreement. I was told that it is 90 days, and there was no other explanation from Sasha. That was really important for me because I’m not using a gym during summer months. Later, when I needed to pause my membership, I was quite surprised that it’s actually not free, but $5/bi-weekly. Again, no apologies from staff. I was forced to sign this form, otherwise they will continue to charge the full payment, but wrote email to notorious Head Office - there was no reply at all. Moreover, they automatically extended my membership for 90 days (hold time) - when I realized they still charging my card I’ve talked to their Senior Manager. She simply said ‘Sorry’, and showed me signed Hold Form - nothing was explained at the time of signing, though. Their staff is quite unfriendly, and always referring you to the Head Office, if there is an issue. I’m not even mentioning cold sauna and no pressure in shower. I would not recommend this gym to anyone - their staff is simply unprofessional. It seems you are getting a mortgage from them, not a gym service.

This gym doesn’t care about its members and sees everyone as solely a dollar sign. they’ll bribe you with cheap merch to post a positive google review and never acknowledge your existence beyond that. and good luck if you ever want to cancel your membership, it’ll never happen. The manager Christina is a nightmare and openly talks negatively about staff and members. I strongly discourage anyone from signing up here.

CHOOSE ANOTHER GYM. Recruiter was misleading and left out many crucial details of the membership (likely for her own commision based benefit). Didn’t take out payments on the days they promised. Never could’ve imagined so many head aches with ludacris fees based on my previous membership at Snap Fitness. Was never even given the sweater I was promised upon signing up after inquiring about it several times! Not surprised to see a lot of other negative reviews. Staff lack people skills and were fairly rude. Go with another gym.

I've been going to this shapes since September and have been enrolled in the buddy training program with my fiancee, our instructor Carlos is fantastic, he pushes us just over our limit every time and knows when we've had enough. The space is very clean and well kept thanks to strong policies when members use exercise machines. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well. Happy to keep coming to this location.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.. I signed up for 3 months memebership and from very first day these guys are not able see o identify the payment process. I have already paid for 1 and half month and for key fob and after few days someone from front desk asked me to pay for key fob as according to head office i have not paid it. They said that they dont have any record of that . After that i showed them my statement from my bank that says payment made to SHAPES for key fob.... then the manager of that location took picture of my bank statement and sent it to head office and gave me receipt that says i have paid for that and half of membership has been paid.. Now after 2 months , i am getting call for key fob payment , they asked me to pay for key fob and payment for first month , that payment was which i have already paid and i have receipt for that . Comon guys SERIOUSLY ! Get yourself organized and do your work . Dont leave bad impression by send vice you are providing to customers. Totally horrible and frustrating service. Get yourself update about whats going on with club members . And, train your staff how to deal with customers. First they dont know h ats going on and then if someone explains to them then they get rude. Totaly ridiculous . Never rmind comment nd SHAPES yo anyone in my life ......FRUSTRATING

I use the gym regularly and it’s something I look forward to. I like to try different gyms around the city on the weekends. Snap and Anytime are pretty much the same; not much space, only one of each machine, but a higher level of equipment. The Wellness Center for me is great. There's a decent variety of machines, sauna and changing rooms are awesome; but the weight room is limited. GoodLife is in a bracket of its own, people seem to either really like it or really dislike it for whatever reason. All of the gyms I visit are fine in their own right. But the reason I keep going back to Shapes Regent is because of the people. It starts with the staff. Aura, Janet, Jyoti and Alyssia always have my best interests at heart. They always ask how my day was and even on the worst of days, they can draw a smile. If I’ve ever needed any help lifting up some of the heavier weights in the gym they are always there to have my back. Thanks Guys. It finishes with the other gym users. I go to Shapes Regent in the morning and in the evening. So I see two different crowds almost every day. Everyone is always polite, friendly and respectful. The best part is I never have issues with sharing machines. On the odd occasion people do need to share, its always done in a respectful and polite manner. (This is partly because Shapes Regent has almost 2 of every weight machine or free weight you require.) Cheers to everyone involved at Shapes Regent. Lovely stuff.

Writing a review once again for this place. I signed on over a year ago, and this past September tried to terminate my membership by giving them plenty of notice before the year was up but they refused. Their reasoning because THEY were closed down due to the pandemic, so my membership is extended. A business being closed is not their customers fault. I signed on expecting a year contract, not one extending another four months. Besides that, it was very uncomfortable going to a gym with a mask on, and with the scare of potentially catching covid there so I barely went when things did open up. Shapes locks you in to take your money and doesn't seem to care about customer satisfaction or fairness, won't be going back again. Check out the other reviews and you will realize that you should save yourself some stress and don't join their gym. Almost all of their workers have no idea what they are talking about, and it is painful to reason with them. Currently trying to fight this extension, hoping that something can be resolved. Their manager is the only professional one. I do not recommend this place.

I joined this gym December 2019 with them telling me that I can cancel my membership at anytime. I never once used my membership due to having unexpected surgery. Tried to cancel my membership but was denied. For the rest of the year they have been taking money out of my account. Nothing I can do. Lady at the front desk says theres nothing she can do. Anyways the contract ended in December 2020 and they stopped taking money out. But it’s now March 2021 and these greedy ppl are starting up again. Money coming out of my account again. I wish I would of read the reviews cuz they are not very honest ppl, very greedy.

After my year obligation was satisfied, I attempted to cancel my membership and was told I had to go in personally. I am not in the service area anymore and this is not convenient. I put a stop payment on the auto debit. I was then called by head office and informed that Shapes would post to my credit bureau an unpaid collection...THIS IS RANSOM! SHAPES IS NOT A BLOODY FINANCIAL INSTITUTION, JUST CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP! They cited the membership agreement, however refuse to cancel unless I personally come in. Do not sign up for this, it is entrapment!

Back in December 2020 I emailed the GYM to cancel my membership. Never heard back from them. Fast forward to March 12, 2021 the GYM is still charging me. I have submitted my cancellation just like they requested back in December in an Email. After following up on the 12th of march and I get told by rude person “Aura” on the phone that I need to come in to cancel my service. Why in the hell do I need to come in to cancel? It's 2021, I should be able to either email or mail my cancellation letter. I personally do not feel comfortable using your gym during this time and I shouldn’t have to come to your place to cancel a membership. I get it you are trying to complicate the process, so people do not cancel. I’ve been going to shapes for over 10 years now, despite the poor staff (not all staff mostly their Manager) and the theft that kept happening there I still went there and supported your business. Why end this on a bad note? I will be more than happy to tell my friends and family to stop supporting your business and go somewhere else. All businesses are suffering from the pandemic, if you are operating your business and do not have enough staff to support your customers, that is your issue and not your customer. feedback to Chris Rousseau, your business will not last long based on the poor customer service and bad management decisions. I will be more than happy to give my business to other gyms. Ps freezing all your customer accounts during the pandemic was not a favor to your customer, what choice did you have? You either freeze them or all of your customers will cancel.

Came for a trial membership, wouldn't come back. The weights are outdated, the machines are stiff and hard to move. They ask for positive reviews in exchange for free merchandise, which would probably explain their mediocre ratings. 2/10

Extremely disappointed with this "gym." Only one squat rack in the entire facility, two flat benches and no deadlift area. Every dumbbell and weight plate is in the wrong spot, most being strewn across the floor. The bars are all much thicker than real weightlifting bars and poorly knurled, making them incredibly hard to hold onto. God forbid one is dropped, since a sign clearly states their zero tolerance policy on dropping weights, while sumultaneously banning use of chalk to hold onto them. This is definitely not a gym for serious bodybuilders or people trying to get into great shape. On the upside, it is fairly clean, with plenty of showers and bring your own lock lockers, but the equipment is very poor and I would not recommend this gym to anyone.

Been a member for a year now and I got nothing to say except great things! I've joined with a couple of my friends back in 2017 and the experience was great! I never felt like I was being forced to join and the best part is that they also gave me a great deal with what memebership to choose after they heard my situation with my injury as well as my financial budget. So fast forward a year later im still loving the place, I'm working on my goal with a great trainer named Cindy (honestly check her out if you are thinking about getting a trainer, she is very knowledgeable and hella friendly! ) and I would like to especially thank Aura as well as the other managers because beside being very friendly and helpful, they make me feel like a family and that's great customer service in my eyes! Keep it up Shapes (Nairn)! I wish you continued success! ????

This is my favorite of the 3 coeds to attend. The manager Aura runs her club very well and her staff (Janet, Bella and Britney) are always smiling and they take the time to get to know their members. Another thing I love is that the club is always improving. From the Queenax area to the new squat rack (which is a great addition to the gym because for someone who is tall, using the squat cage can be hard on the knees/back/shoulders). I would recommend this club to to just about anyone. Kee it up ????

How do i cancel membership? I know its frozen right now but i would like to cancel it completely. It’s supposed to renew in June. We signed up for a corporate membership over a year ago. The customer service regarding the membership was awful. When covid hit and things got worse we intended to cancel our membership but had to wait until the membership term was finished (fair) but when it was up was around the same time as the Code Red closure that shut down gyms. The day before the gym shut down they refused to cancel the membership for us because they “weren’t allowed to process them that day”. Now that they have opened up the my are telling us we yet again have to wait to cancel and we may have to pay for another billing cycle when we have intended to cancel. I also know other gyms that allow you to cancel over the phone. This gym told us we could come in to do so then once we were finally seen we couldn’t anymore. Also, I do lots of functional work and could never find bands or an agility ladder to do additional exercises on the turf.

I've been a member on and off for over 5 years, only freezing or cancelling my membership temporarily while I travel out of the country for months at a time. I love the other members, everyone is very friendly but my only concern is the lack of loyalty I receive from the company when returning back to renew my membership. There are no deals, Notting to help me out, leaving me to pay a premium each time I'm looking to get back into the club. Other than that, a great gym to workout in.

I sent in a request on February 9, 2021 to request that my account be indefinitely frozen due to the pandemic. I was told this isn't an option, so I decided to cancel my membership. Confirmation of my cancellation letter was received shortly after. As of March 18, I was charged the regular bi-weekly membership rate as if I were attending the gym the past month. Based on many of the reviews here, it looks like I'm not the only one that's very puzzled as to why Shapes is still withdrawing funds after written confirmation of receiving a cancellation letter. Why would I be charged for the past month when my cancellation was fully confirmed and acknowledged by staff in mid February? Is there such a disconnect between membership cancellations and the accounting department that delays the cancellation process so much and then holds the customer monetarily liable for the delay? I was hoping to have a smooth cancellation process, especially after attending the gym for over a decade, but it appears I'm in the same boat as the many of the other people.

Originally signed up for a year at shapes, nearing the end of my contract a manager at mcphillips shapes offered me a better deal as I was leaving the gym . She explained all the details except that it would re-new the contract, I found that out after I tried to cancel a couple months later.

Worst sport place ever. I will not suggest it if you’re a newcomer or if your English is bad as mine. I went there to visit the place and I ask to speak with someone bilingual. A lady at the desk make me signed papers telling that I don’t need to worry about it. And now they want me to pay 200$ for a place I went once. They are not honest and are taken advantage on you if you don’t understand the language. So the crime I committed was to go check that place once.

I cancelled my membership to them after a year of membership with them 4 months ago to focus on our newborn child.. but found out that they are still charging me monthly on my card because their clerk forgot to let me sign some papers that they have not presented us . They just told me that everything is in place. We already address this problem to their head office and their only solution is to just stop the charging us. They won't pay me back the months that I haven't been using. This is by far the most terrible experience I have had here in Winnipeg. I came from a third world country but I have never been scammed like this back home. This gym doesn't even deserve any star. NEVER SIGN UP TO THIS GYM!

I have a membership of 6 weeks at this gym and my last day of membership is on feb 6, 2020, i went to at gym on feb 2 and i talk to receptionist that I don’t want to continue with this gym. But this August snd they are still deducting more than 50 dollars every month, I hardly check my account but i just check few days ago and I called them their staff and manager are kinda rude, they are saying we cannot do anything for that, I don’t know how can i get my money back. Because its not my fault i went their for the cancellation.

I was on a short term membership and haven't been to the gym in almost a year now, and due to this Covid pandemic when I first inquired about having my payments cancelled I was told they would be frozen for quite some time, which was fine, however with insight of nothing going back to normal for a very long time because of this pandemic I requested through email to the GM to have my payments terminated as my short term membership has been up for a long time and was told it would be processed. I noticed a charge 2 weeks later and I email back asking if I sent my request to the office which has been closed. Not sure why a paper which would require us to adventure out to non-essential places, to do non-essential tasks, needs to be sent to a closed office that's deemed a non-essential business instead of an email of consent to the GM to have my payments cancelled as it is not changing the membership term/fee but rather ending it? *Edit to respond* Yes the first time we discussed in email when the first shut down happened I was given a complimentary hold.. when the gym reopened I opted to give Shapes a chance and waited to see if Covid would ease up so I did the 5$ bi-weekly hold, during our second conversation on November 2nd, 2020 I asked for my account to be cancelled given there is no turn around in sight, and you asked if I wanted it to be held again and I said no I was already doing that and do not wish to waste anymore money for a gym that I haven't been to in over a year, and I have been off my term for nearly as long, then you replied "Ok I will process that today". I believe a GM should be working from home to make sure the business is run properly.. Covid shutdown is not a vacation. You said I was not charged since June 2nd, and I can show you the transactions that I've been charged a few times since. I can also show the email of our conversation on Nov 2nd,2020 where I asked for you to cancel instead of hold my account and you replied that you would process it. **Update** So even after sending in the letter for cancellation in the mail like asked back in November.. I am getting emails now offering me membership deals to stop me from cancelling and saying I will be charged until the end of March? I don't think so.. if this BS keeps up I will be going to court, fraudulent activity from a business like this is a joke.. I am not on contract, my requests to cancel are being neglected over and over again and I am continuously being harassed by shapes.. I put a stop payment on my account through my bank. This is becoming a joke. They were able to sign people up and add additional things to peoples memberships but some how can't cancel anything? Stop trying to scam your customers that have been loyal to the brand for many years..

I enjoy the programs that shapes has to offer. Today I took the Barre class it is excellent and a thorough workout. I looked up another facility for Barre classes and the cost was $17 for a drop in I get the same workout at shapes for only $3 a week. For those of you who haven’t tried the Barre class it is amazing it’s a mix of yoga pilates some cardio, stretching, and of course work at the Barr. The instructor has plenty of modifications for those with injuries or limitations. The hot yoga classes are affordable and taught by exceptional instructors. The facility is always clean and well maintained

I was very wary about purchasing a Shapes membership as I've read many poor reviews online. I went to the Henderson Shapes and asked the lady at the desk for a copy of the contract to look over. She refused to give me one as she said they are only for people purchasing memberships. I told her that I understood, I was very serious about purchasing a membership, however I would not sign my name to anything that I did not have time to read first. She assured me that she would go over any questions I had while signing the contract. Again, I told her I appreciated that, however wished to read the contract on my own first so I did not feel pressured to sign anything until I had time to read every word in detail. The girl got quite offended and snippy and asked if I was accusing her of running a shady business. I replied no, but it seemed odd that they would not allow potential clients to first read the contract if they weren't trying to cover something up. I left and did not become a member at that time. At home, I found a copy of the contract online and read it in detail. When I was ready, I went to Nairn Shapes to sign up, knowing full well that I was locked in no matter what for 1 year, after which time I would have to end my contract in writing. I was fine with this. In the office, while signing the contract I noticed one clause stating that no matter what the salesperson tells you, the contract is always right (clearly management encouraged sellers to say whatever is necessary to get a sale and then covers their butt). The girls offered me an unlimited hot yoga deal for an additional $20. I specifically asked her if it was good for all Shapes locations as a different location was closer to my house, to which she replied yes, so I got it. This evening, I got a babysitter and went to Henderson to use my Shapes hot yoga pass and was told that I did not have one. I replied (to the same snooty lady from my first visit) that I did, I had purchased the $20 pass. She informed me that was for the Nairn location only. I said no, I CLEARLY had asked and had been told that it was for all locations, as Henderson is the most convenient location for me. Her reply was "well, the girl must have just wanted to make a sale, you should have bought it from me (which I purposely hadn't because she was so rude last time)". I asked if the pass could be changed to yoga at the Henderson location as it was closer for me, and again was told no, because I could only change my contract for 7 days, and it was day 8. If I wanted hot yoga at Henderson, I would need to pay an extra $29.99 bi weekly. I was told to contact the infamous head office. We all know how that will go. I am furious. I worked so hard to be informed about the contract and to not get scammed, and I still did. BE AWARE THAT IF YOU CHOOSE TO SIGN UP WITH SHAPES, THEY ARE ENCOURAGED TO SCAM CUSTOMERS FOR SALES AND WILL SAY YES TO ANY QUESTION YOU ASK TO GET A SALE.

Ive been going to shapes Nairn for over 7 years now and I really wonder why I still stay. -I have been accused by the staff that I was personal training my friend “under the table” because I was helping a friend with proper form and had my membership suspended for 2 weeks and had to plead my innocence to head office. - Ive had my shoes stolen from the front entrance. -My locker got broken into and my gym bag and sweater were stolen and lock snapped off. -Equipment is often broken and takes several days to repair. -A staff member was very unprofessional and yelled at me for working out "too loud". -My key fob for 24-7 access broke and took several weeks for it to be replaced.

Bad Company stay away ????????????I cancelled my membership at the February 2020!!!. But even after that they were withdrawing money from my account. I tried to call them, but no respond. I went to the bank and paid another $ 20 on top so that they would stop withdrawing money from my account!!! after a while, I received an answer to my email that the money would be returned to me. but I still haven't gotten anything!!! and then stopped responding to emails!!! last week my husband called to this location he was told that they would call back. But they never called. today I already went to their location, but they told me again “you have to wait until they figure it out” !!!! WHAT?! It's not the first time, not the second! Even not the third time that we (me and my husband) call them!!! They own me 180$ and I pay on top 20$ just to cancel the transition!!! It is September 2021!!! I am so sick of it!!! I'm not the first person complaining about that!

Enjoy the flexibility of the times when I can come in as a student! I always am able to come in and find machines or join classes based on time slots that work to my schedule 3. HOT YOGA- I am a huge yoga fanatic. It makes it so easy for me to workout and go attend yoga classes at the same facility! Sick of working out in my basement so I'm looking to join a gym. Called Shapes on Nairn a few days ago and the lady I spoke to was friendly. Invited me in for an orientation as well as mentioned that I could come as a guest with a buddy or that she would have me as her guest. So far so good... Today I show up with a buddy to try the gym out. First lady seemed nice as I explained I was here to try the gym out as a guest, but her colleague piped in saying to charge me for the day pass. I told her of my conversation that I had few days back and then she said that I would have to go through the 20 minute orientation. It's 830pm, I'm ready to workout, my buddy is ready to workout and I'm short of time, but the front desk lady would not let me in as a guest. If I decided to join the gym, then I would come a bit earlier to go through the orientation. So now I'm annoyed and I don't want spend another minute speaking to this lady, let alone another 20 minutes so I just pay the $10. Poor customer service. All I ask for is consistency and better customer service. The gym itself was alright, but in my opinion needs more mirrors for inner facility equipment. I would not recommend this gym. Now on to the next gym, Snap Fitness. They're also getting my $10, but in return I get a 30 day trial.

It could be a lot better if managed properly. Lots of the staff just sit around and never enforce rules. Often you see people not wiping down the equipment, good luck finding a plate that you need because nothing is in order and most of the time the dumbbells are scattered as well. Changing rooms are clean showers are great not many places have enclosed showers so that's a plus. The sauna is in the locker room which I'm impartial to because I like to use it with my wife but it could be hotter as well. Value wise it's pretty good especially if you get a deal.

For one, the customer service is deplorable. They are not friendly and when asking questions, they fail to provide proper answers in terms of their memberships. They tell you when you sign up, we will take out the funds on a certain date. We followed through to bring in the account information to debit, a couple of weeks later, we get an email saying we are behind in our payments. We contacte head office and were told it was their error and due to the busy season, we were not able to process the payment. They confirmed that one payment came through, but, we still owed the other. We went to the front desk a couple of days later to later and was quoted a different total. Last weekend, I set up an intro consultation at the Mcphillips locations, we went there on the day of and received an email confirmation that it was set got that day. The customer service said we were not booked and they personnel refused to see us when it was their error. The overall fitness centre is not bad, but there shower areas need renovation. If I could I would not give these two locations a star rating, it should be zero.

I was looking for GYM in my area and I popped up to the Shape on Nairn. The lady on resorption (Sasha) wasn’t friendly at all - no “Hi”, no “How are you”, no smile at all. When I asked her to get information about the membership, she requested my photo ID. I gave her my license (I don’t know why I did that), but she asked me for more personal information such as my phone number, email, etc. I decline to provide it to her and she declines to show me the GYM. It just doesn’t make me any science why do I have to provide all my private details to see a GYM?! Be honest I didn’t check reviews bout this place before, but now I did. Taking into account my experience, I can believe to all these poor reviews of people that frustrated about this place the same as me.

We made the appointment and we got a really great deal for both our memberships . The facility itself is super clean spacious 24/7 which is super convenient for me as I do shift work . Facility is amazing. Equipments are always cleaned which is great! My one complaint tho is the management and service. Me and my friends booked for an 8:40am gym session and when we got there doors were locked so I used my key fob. Mind you we all have memberships and pay for THEIR SERVICE! We were immediately told about the new holiday policy which requires every member to use their key fob upon entry aside from the online scheduling, to avoid an over capacity. However, it was very unique in our case as some of us did not have our key fob at the moment and we had just purchased a new one, but the issue lies within the fact that we were not allowed entry when we had no prior knowledge of the new policy but had scheduled online which says that we booked a spot in the gym that we paid access for. We’re members for a reason, the least we can get from them is their understanding. Communication should be improved and they should have let their members known via email or something.

I've had nothing but horrible experiences with Shapes! I signed up for a 3 month membership (ONLY wanted 3 months because I am moving). It expired September 20th. Then, I got a few phone calls about still owing $16 for a 'key fob' that I already PAID for (I didn't even want it in the first place). After explaining I already paid for it, I was threatened to be sent to collections. Then the woman at the front desk stated I still owed $50 for my membership on top of the key fob. I said no I don't think so, I signed up for 3 months and paid in full. And then she said oh okay that must be a mistake! She said nothing else. A couple weeks later I went and paid them reluctantly (for the key fob). Then the woman at the front desk (same woman) stated I still owed $50 for my membership..... She said I had to come in and cancel my membership in writing as I am still getting charged. She should have told me I had to cancel in writing much sooner......No one told me!! Now they are making me pay THREE MORE TIMES for a total of over $80 even though I won't even be in the province or using Shapes facilities. I called head office again and there was nothing they could do about it. I feel like Shapes only cares about money, not their customers. I don't ever leave reviews - I am just so blown away at how this situation was handled.

This is definitely the worst gym I've ever been to. The staff were super rude. It's dirty. It smells bad. I'd recommend using any gym but this one. Unless you're into rude staff who made fun of numerous clients after they left the front counter right in front of me. It wasn't funny and those people definitely didn't deserve it. Update: I went back. It smelled much better and was much cleaner and the staff member couldn't have been better. Not sure of her name but she was a younger blonde lady. I'd go higher but there was a lot of broken equipment. Just goes to show how important good staff are.

Then when you call head office. Their response is, and I quote "THERE'S NOTHIN I CAN DO FOR YOU, YOULL HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT." Make sure you read the fine print, they won't care after you sign. I've been a Shapes member for about 2 years now, and I love it! Not going to lie, there was a hiccup when I first started as the recruiter/reception Rachel was very pushy and aggressive. I'd had a coupon for a free week there, and was not looking to purchase a membership at that moment. I don't regret that, but she was awfully put out that I insisted on reading everything before signing, and from what I heard, she had complained after I left about that. She also took an attitude after I cancelled the trainer within their 7 day limit, insisting I would NEED a trainer because I wouldn't stay motivated on my own. As I said...2 years later... But I don't think Rachel is there anymore, so I'm comfortable with giving 5 stars. Aura is an awesome manager. She helped me freeze my membership and waive the original fee when she noticed that I was actually going for surgery. Their fee policy is in the agreement, so I felt she went above and beyond. The facility is pretty well maintained. The only issue I'd have at this point is weight not being put back and machines not being wiped down, but that is just due to other inconsiderate members and is not the fault of the staff themselves.

The level of injustice and unfaireness that customers are facing in the hands of the people who work at Shapes Fitness is outrageous.This atrocious practice must stop!To give you some context, I received a call from a lady asking me for money telling me that I owe money to Shapes because I haven't made any payment for my gym membership. How could you ask a customer to pay you money when you never give them access to use your facility? Or without issuing them a membership card? I understand the need to support local business and help them to stay in business. However, the needs to do business in good faith and lawfully are keys principles that must be respected. It is time for accountability and to stop such awful and unethical practices. Justice will prevail and the rules of laws will triumph.

I am so happy that the staff have finally turned down the volume on the music. It used to be so loud that I couldn't hear my own music, and the music where group fitness takes place -- well, that is so loud everyone in there will be deaf soon. But I don't go to group fitness, so that's ok. The change room is very very cold at this time of year - better than too warm, but you really have to hurry to change. I wish staff could somehow advise clients to not monopolize the machines while they're on their cell phones. If you have to use your phone (text or whatever), move off the machine so someone else can use it. Other than that, I love the place.

I love Shapes! For the cost of a membership comparing to other gyms Shapes is very attractive. There are many classes to chose from, although there could be a few more at Nairn, but aside from that I find the instructors are so personable and excellent at what they do. They gym itself is very clean as the washrooms are too. They have done many upgrades to this gym as well. The staff is friendly and helpful.. some a little more than others but overall an excellent place to go!!

This is a great gym. The staff is friendly and always has a smile and a hello. The members are friendly. The equipment is always fixed in a timely fashion if broken. There is lots of equipment to choose from. A very nice locker room with amenities. I live outside of Winnipeg, it's definitely worth the drive in.

My favourite gym in the city. Been to many other gyms in the city and this is my favourite. Not overly crowded, lots of equipment so you almost never have to wait for machines or dumbbells. Highly recommended.

I registered for a family plan. During my registration the representative saw both our vaccine proof (me and my brother) and approved us for the gym. And then the next time when we went to gym, they told my brother that vaccine proof is not from Manitoba so it wont work. It was the same vaccine proof that he provided while registration. This is so unfair. Why so much drama if he is double vaccinated? We were going to Goodlife Fitness before this, but they were accepting that vaccine proof and letting us workout. This gym's policies are unknown to your employees and creating so much confusion and money wasting for customers. This is So NOT FAIR!!!!

I've never been a fan of this place. My mom has had bad luck everytime. We used coupons for hot yoga and they didn't accept my mother until I had spoken to the manager. I do like the hot yoga classes and the hot yoga instructors who I think are not actual shapes staff. I agree with all the comments here about the customer service, it's horrible, immature staff who make fun of clients. They could do a lot better if the customer service were to improve.

This is a very nice gym that has lots of different exercise machines and the facility is always clean. The staff here are also super friendly! Another positive point at this gym is that they have a very updated locker room with half size AND full size lockers! They also have a hot yoga room which is a plus because most gyms don’t have one!
