Need to fix the water fountains. Only good for water bottles right now. They've known about it for a while but haven't done anything to fix'em. It's a slow slide from a nice gym to a poor one. Otherwise, an ok gym.

Been a member for about 2 years. Wondering why this location doesn't offer some of the same equipment as the other locations. Like olympic weights. Also 3 showers in the men's change room have been out of order for over a month. Also the water fountains are always malfunctioning. Staff is good but this is Definitely the weakest GoodLife location in the city.

Awful and unhygienic. "Please take your shoes off" is not enforced by anyone, filthy floors covered in snow and dirt. Smells awful. Employee was "cleaning" the changing room and left blood-covered Kleenex all over the floor. Meathead looking dummy. Drive 25 mins to the Portage one by Superstore now, it's beautiful. This one should be condemned. Disgusting

Joined in January for some promo where if we didn’t like the membership we could cancel for no charge. HA! There was a cancel fee, plus pay the next month, plus pay the next month after that because they forgot to cancel in time? Ugh The 3 months I went here, I seen a few people get injured on stair machines that were broken and not labeled. Told management and they said we know.... okay? No one cleans their machines which is gross considering how it smells in that place! And you have to pay for a towel when my membership costs me almost 60 a month!! Would rather go somewhere with a pool and sauna for that price.

One receptionist at this location, a lady in her early 50’s named Rhonika, needs to find another job. She doesn’t greet her fellow East Indians and members of visible minorities when they come into the gym and plays with her phone all the time while working at the reception. I think management should consider getting her to work in sanitation and put the older lady who currently works in wiping down equipments and the gym floor at reception. All other staff who work at the reception at this gym are polite and welcoming, Rhonika on the other hand, doesn’t fit the description of a receptionist and is incapable and incompetent to perform simple duties.

Old equipment, no one enforces dirty shoes off at door, management not on site ever. To make matters worse, they were unable to set up the preauthorized debit and kept sending me notices that I owed them. How many times do I need to give my bank info? What a joke. The staff seem nice, but this is the worst managed gym I've ever seen. I'd give it zero stars but that isn't an option. Go elsewhere. update: I contacted head office and they were much worse. Not even trying to be helpful or friendly. At first they flatly refused to even investigate why the preauthorized debit wasn't working. Then they refused to put a manager on the phone. Only after legal action was threatened over the termination fee did they even look at it. They then acknowledged that the fault was in their billing system as they hadn't processed my banking information properly on ALL 3 OCCCASIONS I GAVE IT TO THEM. They still insisted it was my fault but offered to waive the early termination fee. I would give zero or negative stars if possible.

Great place to workout. Newly renovated interior. Equipment selection is good, but broken items take a long time to be repaired. Lockers are nothing fancy. Early morning crowd is low key, the best time to go in my opinion.

Super clean and great value for money. Has all the equipment you need with lots of cardio and weights machines, a female only area and sauna. Even during peak times there's plenty of equipment available to use. I would recommend joining to anyone

Tried explaining I wanted to pay my bill a few days early, membership is frozen as I wanted but she thought I wanted to come in and exercise, with my work boots and hoodie on. She then started to act annoyed or frustrated at me after finally figuring out what I wanted AFTER she charged me for drop in fee. Place is usually a mess inside the washrooms and a lot of the lockers seem broken.

The first time I started going to this place it wasn't very clean compared to the Kenaston location I was used to going to. They also didn't offer free wifi. I just went recently and I see such a huge change. Nice and clean, and now free wifi!

After renewing my contract 4 times in the 4 years I have been with them, I still have to pay 2 weeks membership plus $100 to cancel my contract. Yes I know it’s a contract but at least cancel for free since I’ve been a somewhat long time customer. Freezing my account would even cost me $10 a month. Not worth it, glad I cancelled. I’ll be joining elsewhere. Most equipment is falling apart. Locker rooms are very filthy. The sauna has been closed off for a month. Go to a different location or join a different gym. They’re after your money, not your health. Highly not recommended

Good facility but of all the Good Life gyms in Winnipeg, this one in the Garden City area stinks like a cattle ranch. Some people in this gym need to know that deodorants are not expensive and showering is good hygiene. Lifting weights next to a person who smells like dirty underwear, pubes and armpit is not my idea of a good workout.

They up and moved. No notice, no email, no letter nothing. Just gone. Went from a women's only to a 24 hour mixed. Don't want that, loved it the way it was. Now the fight starts to cancel the membership. I have to make an appointment with the sales manager. Hope it goes ok.

Wow this gym really sucks. I come here from Saskatoon. And I go to get towels and they tell me I have to pay for towel service. The good life I go to in Saskatoon don’t pay for that service it is in my membership there. Hmmm time to start thinking of going to another gym.

Would've like to rate it a half star... The. Worst. Goodlife. EVER. I would rather drive across the city 30 minutes then ever use this gym again (5 minutes from my place). When we signed up at this location we were told that they were going to be doing upgrades to the location. 1. They upgraded the wallpaper. 2. They added turf. 3... annnnd that's about all.. They should've moved into the gaping hole that used to be Sears for more room. Instead they combined the McPhillips Women's Only Goodlife with it. Turning what already was a small closet of a gym into a sardine can during peak hours. The location is WAYY too small. You can barely find equipment open when you want to use it. The women's side is a joke, roughly a 10'x10' room according to my wife. The machine's are really showing signs of wear (padding peeling apart). They have like 10 TV's advertising how Goodlife has TRX, yet nowhere can it be found at this location (might I add they said they would be getting it when we signed up). My suggestions, drive the extra 15-30 minutes and hit the Regent or Grant Park Goodlife locations. Workout in the middle of work days or middle of the night. Or sign up at Shapes on McPhillips. Today was my last time at this location.

By far the WORST Goodlife in the city. The showers are moldy, smell like sewage, and half of them don't even work. I think there is only about 2 or 3 working showers in the Men's room. I've been going there for the past 3 months, and the showers have not been fixed to this day. Upon reading some of the other reviews it looks like the showers have been broken for over 6 months. The gym overall is extremely dirty, I have never seen a cleaner there ever. I have been going to the Regent location for the past year and that one is extremely clean, even the showers and change room are spotless. Most of the time when i went there I would see cleaners tidying up the place, I've been going to the GC location for the past 3 months and have never seen a single cleaner yet. Nor have I ever even seen an employee cleaning either. I just recently started to go to this location because it's close to home and fits my schedule, and the other gyms are too busy during peak hours, but now considering changing my entire schedule around and spending the extra 30 minutes a day waiting for a machine at other locations just to stay away from this dump. Not all, but some of the employees are rude as well, I ask for a towel and they give me a dirty look , likes it's so hard for them to go into the drawer and give me one. My membership comes with towel service, so i shouldn't be getting dirty looks for asking for one. I also agree there many stinky people working out there, but you can't blame the gym for that, they can't control others personal hygiene...but please just wear some deodorant :) Some of the equipment is unsafe, frayed ropes ( the ones used for triceps) , look like its about to break, give it to one of the employees, telling them they should replace them, they say they will, next day I see them back on the machines... I would say the Manger would have to be the person to blame on all of this, as it is there job to oversee everything and make sure the gym is properly maintained, and employees are doing there job. Perhaps they should get rid of this manger and get a new one, maybe then we can see some improvements here. If you want to use Goodlife as your gym, definately stay away from this one, I'd recommend any other of the locations!

Clean gym, good atmosphere, overpriced for what you get. Equipment is old. Water fountains are either broken or have no water pressure, one fountain sprays less than an inch from the mouth piece and its gross to drink from. No wifi.

I've been going here for a little while and it's really good. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the facility itself is always clean. It can get really busy at times, but because it's quite large, you're never really crowded. The machines are all in good working order and there's a good selection of them. The locker room and showers are clean and really well set up. The only complaint I have isn't about the establishment or the staff. It's the other patrons. Quite a few of them just walk in wearing their snow and slush covered shoes. They will walk right through the gym into the change room, and then will work out in them. The staff are great for cleaning up after them, but they shouldn't have to. They almost need to start charging people a few bucks for a cleaning fee every time they do this. Edit: Ok, I've been going here for quite a while now. My review still stands. The staff and facility are great, but some of the patrons (always the same ones) are terrible. They're disgusting, unwashed, smell bad (even before working out), never wipe machines down after use, and regularly stink up the locker rooms bathing in axe body spray. If you are planning on coming to this gym, you're going to have to try really hard to ignore these repulsive people.

Upkeep is good and the services is great. I don't understand why people are having so much problems. If you read the contract properly there shouldn't be any money problems. There not "trying to take your money" as everyone says. They offered a trainer but didn't push it after I passed on it the first offer. Not going to lie the trainer is pretty expensive but everyone need to make a earning and I haven't compared prices with other trainers. If your serious about getting fit and don't know much this is a great place. Each workout machine has step by step on how to use it properly. I feel very comfortable working out there. Hope this helps you and I hope you meet your goals!

A gym is a gym, but what makes this gym special and makes me wanna come back and workout is the people at the front desk like Lorelei, Jessica and Ashely. They always greet you with a genuine and authentic smile and always take the time to learn your goals and help to motivate you every time they see you.. thank you for all the small talks!

I love how people just walk in in their filthy shoes and it's not enforced by anyone to have a different pair of shoes to wear inside the gym. For such a big gym with lots of customers, don't you think you should have a FULL TIME cleaning person, not a lady that comes twice a week to wipe the floor? Bathrooms often smell, floors in the locker rooms are always dirty.

Very good gym, has the right equipment! The price, however, is questionable even if you're only paying the student fee. The staff and management is good and I never got scammed by them. Theyre quite generous with their give aways, I own like 5 Goodlife fitness bags.

Been a member for years. Lorelei is the worst manager. They don’t listen to member complaints. I always see most front desk being so disrespectful, and never would have thought I would get disrespected myself! The smaller Asian girl that works mostly evenings, why can’t they all be as nice as her!!

Used to go here all the time till they cancelled classes and (management) wanted you to drive to the kenaston location to get your classes and personal training you signed up for. Dont know if these ppl are still here but they lost alot of long term ppl over it.
