nice place awesome crew and guides, I’d recommend everyone on holidays at Jasper to go here for a nice quiet leisure stroll in the hills with friendly horses.
Nice
Excellent guides and very polite horses. Totally worth it.
I loved my experience there! I love horses and I went on an one hour ride on a trail that lead us to beautiful views.
(Translated) Very good experience (Original) 很好的體驗
Really great staff and guides. Did a family trail ride down by the river... great views, horses... great trail. Great way to spend a couple hours
My partner and I did a two hour tour with Franz. It was muddy and rainy, but we had a blast! Franz was a great guide, and the views were spectacular. A unique and fun way to see a different side of the Park.
We enjoyed it. My children enjoyed the Rides too. This is a beautiful memory for our family.
Amazing experience! Worth every penny for sure.
Had an amazing 2hr ride today on Wyatt. Our guide Katherine was very knowledgeable and great fun. Scenery was breathtakingly with lots of stops to take photos and time to reflect on the beauty of the area. Thanks so much x
Just alright nothing special. Hirses are beautiful though
My boyfriend and I, along with two of our friends, were amongst those evacuated from Fort McMurray due to the wild fires. We traveled to Jasper to stay and we decided to make the best of our time and go on a trail ride. We were so pleased with the quality of this stable - the horses were healthy and happy, the staff were beyond helpful and kind, and the trails themselves were incredible. Thank you to everyone at the stables for your generosity during these times and for helping us keep our minds off the terrible events in Fort McMurray. We would certainly recommend Jasper Park Riding Stables & Outfitters to any experienced horse lover or beginner, it was fantastic. Thank you again.
This was the most fun part of your vacation, really enjoyed it even though it was our first time.
great views
Really friendly and capable staff, really enjoyed my first time horse riding.
We spent the weekend travelling from Banff to Jasper, stopping to hike and enjoy the scenery as we went, and this was definitely the highlight of the weekend. We booked the 2 hour ride, and the scenery was incredible, and even though it has been quite a few years since either myself or my girlfriend have ridden a horse, both our guide and the horses made the experience very pleasant. Their horses were all in excellent health, and were very friendly towards all the guests. Our guide "Elle" was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history and geography of the area. If you are looking for a trail ride with an amazing view of the mountains, I would absolutely recommend Jasper Park Riding Stables.
Had a group dinner. Wonderful experience and fantastic food and great service.
They said this is the best way to explore the scenic views of Jasper, and I couldn't agree more.
riding horses in jasper so much fun
Lovely spot
Everything was perfect! The guides were informative and helpful and the horses were well taken care of.
Love the place and love the people. Their horses are really good and strong as well.
Don't forget about the endless trails in the off season when the horseback and sleigh rides are unavailable, go for a hike, snowshoe or cross country ski around the stables area. Parking is available and plowed in front of the stables main entrance with a trail map.
Very cool trail, nice staff and great horses
We did a 1h ride here and it was great. The tour guide gave some really great info, and the view from the viewpoint was absolutely stunning. They accommodate kids, depending on their age (check website for info). The tour guide even gave my daughter her gloves because her hands were cold! Overall, fantastic experience and the Stables are well kept. Definitely recommend going here.
Great place that gave us an amazing first experience of riding a horse! The owner Dale and the girls we met are all very friendly and you instantly feel welcome. They have a selection of helmets and pouches to put on the horse to hold your stuff if you need to bring more things with you. You're paired up with a horse and a tour guide and off you go on a scenic route around Jasper's mountain trails. They offer tours up to 3 hours but for your first time probably 1 hour is enough. We picked the two hour ride and you end up pretty sore afterwards! Although every bit worth it. The only thing I wish they would let you interact with the horse for a bit longer before you take it for a ride to ease the nerves if you're unsure or a little nervous. The guide is there to help if you go off trail or need tips but you will need to control the animal to some extent and it would be nice to get comfortable around it first.
Awesome but bring warm clothes!!
Was a great night Very informative regarding the wild life in the area. The meal was great and plenty of it
Great staff, horses and ride. Trail was a little beaten up and muddy but all part the fun Spectacular views and great tour guide. Only did the short session and enjoyed every minute. If you love horses and have the time the longer sessions may be a better option for you.
(Translated) Chose the 2 hour ride. Great experience in a beautiful landscape with sure-footed and relaxed horses, friendly guide with a lot of knowledge about the landscape and nature! (Original) Haben den 2-stündigen Ausritt gewählt. Tolles Erlebnis in wunderschöner Landschaft mit trittsicheren und entspannten Pferden, freundlicher Guide mit viel Wissen über die Landschaft und Natur!
Soooooo much fun. Great horses
An experience not to be missed. Good service and friendly staff. Well worth the trip.
We had a great experience here. We just did the 1 hour ride with our 6 year old. They had helmets available and the staff were super friendly. Good horses too!
Awesome veiws
Had lots of fun, worth every penny.
Slow ride
Amazing staff, friendly horses. Absolutely beautiful views and trails.
This was highlight of our trip. We didnot have a reservation but the staff was able to accomodate us. Our guides Ashely and Helen were great and knowledgable. We learned alot about the horses and the area. The trails were beautiful and scenic. We are so glad we picked this place. Their prices were great as well.
(Translated) Would give 3.5 stars. Despite the snow, the 1 hour tour was pleasant and the staff provided us with coats and gloves. Unfortunately, our tour guide was more busy talking about herself and gossiping about other guests than taking care of us. One example was that there was no possibility to take photos. The "round of introductions" was just a pretext because it addressed us by the names of the horses anyway. Sorry, the bar of previous tours has been clearly undercut. In terms of price, it was okay for a riding excursion with someone who rides ahead.
Real fun. Chip was calm and quite
Relaxing and scenic ride! Very pleasant way to pass some time.
The surroundings were beautiful, you couldn’t have gotten a more gorgeous view. However the tour guide we had was an older man who was being quite rude to myself and my boyfriend, it took away from the fun a bit but overall amazing and would go back asking for a different tour guide!
Good friendly staff, my sons first trailride and our guide was fantastic. Worth the visit!
Amazing place and nice people
Awesome experience!????
I really enjoyed my ride. Great horses, trails and guides. The scenic trails are breathtakingly beautiful. I look forward to riding again in the fall.
(Translated) Nice riding, experienced with guides, recommended (Original) Nice riding, 嚮導經驗豐富,推薦
I didn't ride, but I heard my first Wapiti Whistle.
Great service
Nice guides and well trained horses.
Snow, campfire singing by Aussies. Good food. Enjoyable.
The horses are good quality. Training horses as a side biz I had to keep reminding myself to relax and let Clyde go the way he felt most comfortable. Especially with how muddy the trail was in places because of yesterday's rain. Guide was very friendly and knowledgeable of what flora and sights we were seeing. This is a great scenic ride for any level of rider. My only negative comment is that we only got to do the 2 hour ride because of the rain yesterday. As a horseman I was happy they put safety (horse and human) over dollars.
Horse was great and the views were awesome, but the experience was lacking and the guide not all that informative or inclusive. Maybe an off day? Hopefully.
the staff are absolutely amazing and the horses are truly remarkable!! I regret mother having money in my pocket to provide my guide with a tip :(
Great experience and a lot of fun
Super fun
There is a horse named bullet and I love him
Amazing experience! We took the two hour ride through fantastic scenery (Patricia Lake, Athabasca outlook). The horses looked very well cared after. Our guide was fun and taught us a lot about the horses, the forest and the region. We had a great time, thanks a lot!
Beautiful service!
Liked it! Good to ride horse!
I am an inexperienced rider, and indicated so on the form I filled out. Still, they decided to give me a horse with a violent attitude. About 3 or 4 minutes into the ride it tried to attack the horse in front of me. Cliff to the right of me and surrounded by trees it freaked me out completely because the horse was uncontrollable. He was rearing onto his back legs and going after another horse in front of me with his front legs. The guide told me to pull hard on the reigns, and I did, but I could not stop the horse from its frenzy and it started to buck and rear back. Eventually the guide took the horse but it took some time for her to control it. I told her I want off the horse and will be walking back but she told me we were not allowed to do that. I told her that my welfare trumps her rules and I got off the horse during a calm moment. She finally offered me her horse which I took. This experienced rider struggled with the horse too and she had to get way back of the pack. I had a horrible experience, and my fellow riders, friends of mine, couldn't believe what had happened. From conversations the guides had at the end of the trip it sounded like they knew this horse was prone to acting up. No apologies nor offer to refund me. I will never ride a horse again thanks to these people.
THANK YOU SO MUCH to Katelyn for the tour! We really had fun. We were a family of 3, had Copper, Outlaw and Webster as our horses. It was our first time. The view and atmosphere was great. It rained a little bit so better prepare for the weather. When we were on the trail, a guy was walking the dog, our guide asked the him to move back a bit as the horses were afraid of dogs. Webster, which my husband was riding backed up and started running away but my husband was able to stop him. Katelyn handled the situation very good. Jumped off of her horse and guided Webster back with the group. We will definitely comeback next year.
I hadn't been back to the Jasper riding stables for Over 30 yrs I'm touring my husband around We live closer now & definitely back next summer 2022 Thanks to our wonderful guides on the trail
Nice staff. Great experience
Super friendly people and amazing views
My family and I had a fantastic time! The horses are safe and reliable same with staff they are reliable, kind and helpful. The scenery is beautiful! If you go to Jasper I highly recommend doing a trail ride!
Really good. Excellent staff. All very experienced, knowledgeable, attentive and informative. They take real good care of the horses which are "bomb proof ". Every measure is taken for safety so even the least experienced rider will feel comfortable and enjoy themselves. Beautiful ride through the forest with great views of the valley. A great experience.
My mother and sister and I had a great time! Cassie was our guide and she was great!!
We had meal for 36 people everywhere went smoothly.
As a local, here's my spin... Locals horse stable coral, great place to stage your horse from with many trails that lead in and out out of this area.
Friendly staff, safe fun horse riding! Recommended!
Very friendly. Had great experience. Must visit this place if you are visiting jasper.
(Translated) 1 hour tour with the whole family was certainly one of the highlights of the holiday! I'd like to do it again! (Original) Toertocht van 1 uur met de hele familie was zeker weten 1 van de hoogtepunten van de vakantie! Ik zou het nog wel eens willen doen!
Had such a great time here. Our tour guide was from Toronto but educated us a lot of Jasper. A must do !!! 110$ for 2 people , can't go wrong (1 hour )
Horses were great but guide wasn't friendly and informative
Great place for an afternoon of riding
Never rode a horse in the 27 years I've been around, that is until I stumbled upon this gem in the woods this summer. The staff are super nice and helpful, the horses are friendly and full of personality, and the trails are full of great views! For my first time riding I wouldnt of wanted it anyother way, so Thank you Clyde for being a great partner to ride with and hope your Sleigh rides go well this winter!
You have to book in advance else you cannot ride the horses.
Great afternoon riding extremely friendly staff we really enjoyed the scenic views.
Highly Recommended!! Had an absolutely wonderful time at JRS, the stables have over 70 horses and many friendly guides. We booked a 2hr ride in the morning, there were groups leaving when we arrived but we were still able to have a private ride! The trail took us by Pyramid Lake, through the woods and to an amazing vista overlooking the Athabasca River Valley!
One of the best rides we’ve ever been on and we ride a lot all over the world when we travel. Special thanks to Ashley and to the grizzly and her cub we went by. The scenery was breathtaking. Won’t get that with the other valley company. Up high on this one. Do the 2 or 3 hour for best trips. Very close to Jasper town. Horses very looked after. Enjoy!
Fun place, decent price, but took longer than expected. ~TGU
We had a great time. View was amazing
I'm an experienced rider, but it was my daughter and husband's first trail ride. We did the two hour ride. Sights were beautiful, guide was great about talking my husband and daughter through how to handle various situations. We had Phantom, Pickle, and Burt; all nice gentlemen;). Pickle was a little stubborn so I had to direct reign him a few times, and he wanted to gallop during the last 30 min of the ride, but he was a good boy. Our ride was fairly quiet, but our 9 year old is good about breaking that up!
Super fun for all. Kids allowed are from 6 years, but if a kid is 5 and half and above the minimum height, he or she can ride. Money spent is worth the ride and the guides are fun and chatty.
Love this place such a good experience as my kids loved the trail. Ride.
Such a wonderful experience!! We actually can't ride a horse by ourselves in Taiwan, this is the first time I riding a horse take a walk!!! I Love it!!! The view is sooooo beautiful, its very lucky that we have a wonderful weather. Usually u can choose more then 1 hour to ride, but we started at 16:00, the last riding time, so we only have 1 hour to ride. If u are the first time riding, dont panic when horses go the different way, the guide will tell u how to do, u have to listen, it will be better that u can understand English.
Wonderful staff and beautiful trail ride. Our girls loved it!
Had a great trail ride up a mountain, the guides were knowledgeable and friendly.
Love it
We just took a wonderful 1 hr trail ride, the trail guide was so informative and pleasant and described the landscape, foliage from the high vistas overlooking the Athabasca river valley. The horses and equipment was first rate and very comfortable. Would come back again.
Horseback riding for all the ages.????
We did the 2 hours tour, and for people who haven't ride for at least 2 years this is perfect length. Even in September the 3 hour length tours were already booked for the weekend. We rode Chico and Duke, both were very nice. We were happy to have a bit more challenge than the rest of the group who were filling head to tail the guide. For our part we were able to do very quick gallop to catch the group at some point (canter maybe?). Chico did not like the wind mixed with a tree falling near him... Duke didn't like that either but less stressed I believe... Would been nice to do some Gallop but the trail we were in had lot of roots and rock and I don't think they do this with customers as the front guide was followed the the first 4 customers and they were going tail to head walking. If you are experienced rider, you may not like your ride??? (maybe they have special trail and way to ride for experienced riders?? I did not ask as we were medium/low experienced riders.) Very beautiful views, it would have been nice to have stopped one or two time to take pictures around us.
Yhe environment is welcoming, organized and ready. The horses are adorable, friendly, calm and patient. The scenery is impeccable and the rides are rustic but accessible trails. Highly recommend taking a ride!!
Such a wonderful experience, great staff I had Pan wonderful horse felt sorry for him as I have a few extra pounds lol Can not wait to go back!
Love it you go horse back riding and extremely fun but we could not take photos of the horse
Enjoyable hour long ride through beautiful scenery.
The staff were very friendly , our young guide was a delight. She chatted a lot with my 9 yr old granddaughter who was right behind her. The weather was gorgeous. And it was a great ride. I had originally wanted to book the 3hr ride for us but when I'd called to book they said kids get bored as it's a long time in the saddle and they recommended the 2hr. I went with that and I'm so glad I did as by the time we were about 3/4 through, the horses were walking faster cause they knew we were close to home, Kassidy was starting to wriggle a bit and complaining about the bouncing. She had a blast but it was long enough in the saddle.
My horse/pony was a cool troublemaker It tried to nibble my shoe, it was cute! and the views from the forest were nice. I think 2 hours is just right as you may have leg aching from the ride.
Awesome ride, awesome guides. A lot of fun
Had a great time! Nice peaceful ride with the horses...around beautiful scenery.
LOVE Tonquin Valley outfitters
It was good to be back In the saddle .. it was over 15 years since I have rode a horse and thank you for staying open later in the season I had a great time.. will be back again for a longer ride this time
Great family fun!
Great trails and very friendly staff. Would recommend to everyone!
It was a great experience and Joe was so friendly and helpful
How much does this cost for 6 people?
Superb facility with great customer service. Awesome views.
Breathtaking views and well cared for horses. A great place to go for a ride.
I have had good time with my wife here. Very first time riding a horse, I never forget that feeling. You have to drop here too.
(Translated) Beautiful walk, super docile horses and very kind and nice staff !!! Top!!! (Original) Bellissima passeggiata, cavalli super docili e personale stra gentile e simpatico!!! Top!!!
I work there so it's awesome
We did this with two young kids (11 & 13). We had no horse riding experience before. Everyone in family enjoyed this a lot. I think this is a must do if you are visiting Jasper especially if you have kids.
I booked in advance for me and my two daughters. I originally booked two hours but reconsidered and rebooked for a one hour trip. The ride stays at a slower pace. Don't expect a trot. The guide was very good. If you are talking kids I would not recommend more than two hours. The one hour trip was great and the girls were thrilled. The one hour tour goes through forest to a good scenic area that overlooks the valley below and continues to skirt the mountainside before returning through forest.
