You have the information of real people who used the products and services of Crunch Fitness - Jasper (Gym) in the territory of Jasper (Canada).
At the moment this business receives a score of 3.7 stars over 5 and that rating was based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an feddbacks average is very high, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can think that the rating is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to value when they are pleased, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Gym is classified in the category of Fitness center.
Marco is a great personal trainer here at Crunch. He's personable, knowledgeable, and is great at motivating! He takes into account your goals and experience level and creates a personalized fitness regimen just for you. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a personal trainer downtown. The gym's good too! Wallet friendly, courteous and professional staff. Tons of equipment!
Good price good gym.
I have never bothered to review any of the gyms I've frequented over the years, but today deserves an exception. After a year working out of town, this inexpensive gym has been convenient despite a number of drawbacks. The sauna has been temporarily out of order for over a year..the tanning booths have been on their way since last year... missing equipment/attachments..etc.. Today I was addressed poorly by a manager in regard to how i put 45 lbs plates away. I practice excellent gym etiquette, always putting everything away and wiping it down. I'm also a trainer and have a good degree of knowledge toward fitness... I was not done w the plates, they were not laying on the ground, nor were they poorly placed...they were neatly stacked so as to easily reload the machine next to it. Management should perhaps rethink how they choose to speak to members and prioritize/choose their battles.. It is unfortunate that these interactions will likely lead to members leaving - one of which will be me.
I really loved this gym since its equipments and its space are much better than the location at WEM. But the sudden close and the way they communicate with their customers is really disappointing. And I hope people who signed up for a 1-year contract will have their monthly payments cancelled.
Great place with a little something for everyone.
Not particularly safe comparing to other gym experiences, a few aggressive patrons, and I know at least 2 other people who have had belongings stolen here, including myself. Your choice to join of course, just be really careful, and extra vigilant. I quite within a month. Staff are noted to be nice, manager is nice. It's a super clean gym, new equipment, it's just in a difficult location.
Worst management. I have been trying to get my money they were taking out of my account after I canceled my membership in dec 2020. It is now dec 2021 and I still have not received the over $100 they took and keep getting the run around from every person. Terrible, Terrible management.
The staff at this Crunch Fitness take great pride in ensuring their patrons are comfortable working out, they keep the gym environment very clean and someone is always available for help, if you need it. I am often greeted with a friendly “hello” from the front counter when I walk in. It has not reached their maximum capacity during COVID, when I’ve been there, so I haven’t had to wait in line to get in or keep an eye on the clock during my workouts. The other patrons are friendly and non judgemental. That’s one of the things I love about this gym. I never have to worry about being judged, everyone is there to keep healthy and workout.
Nice new gym in downtown edmonton. It is the old World Health. All new equipment and is fairly quiet, which I like. Only downside is that they need more lifting/squat racks and probably should replace the floor in the studio. Functional training area is quite good. If you're looking for a quiet gym downtown (24/5) then the price and location is unbeatable.
Good gym ????
I wish I could rate -5! I started to go to this place last year and I could go only for a couple of times before the lock down! I asked them to put my account on infinite freeze due to Covid situation. Now, I got a call from third party that I owe them money! It's all non-sense! Why should I pay them when the gym is either closed, or I cannot go to the gym because of the Covid situation!
Awesome downtown gym to sweat at lunch OR before you go home.
Good gym and fairly quiet for location. Staff is always friendly and remember you. Yeah some stuff hasn’t been brought in yet but they just opened. Working out there is comfortable and nice.
Clean and friendly atmosphere. Friendly staff. Switched from snap fitness to crunch form to location and I have no regrets.
excellent management at this facility, and brand new.
Been coming here for a few months now staff is always accommodating and willing to help with whatever you need, great facility as well.
Very convenient and good place to work out at. New machines and great friendly staff. Hours of operation is one of its perks! Recommended!
They have everything you need for such low prices per month!
Clean and well spaced. Cant wait until they open again!!
Love love love this gym!! The staff are great and a special shout-out to Jack and Jayanna for being so friendly and kind whenever I come and work out. Tons of machines to use and the clients who come here are regulars and very friendly. Best gym in Edmonton by far!!!
Fantastic new gym conveniently located in Canadian Western Bank Place on Jasper Ave. Tons of cardio equipment (never have to wait) and amazing resistance area with tons of machines and free weights and HIIT zone with jungle Jim. Looking forward the the arrival of the tanning and hydro-massage beds. All this for only $10 per month is truly amazing!!
My go to gym, great staff, helpful very knowledgeable trainers, classes offered, nice layout.
Considering we are in the last stages of the pandemic still, their spray sanitisers are probably 80% water, 20% alcohol or maybe less.. not a good idea to save on cost. Sanitizer hand dispensers are all empty ! Also the ventilation isn’t good all the time in the bottom floor. Machines are good and very spacious basement space.
Location is very nice, Staff is friendly
Great new gym. Replaces the old World Health Club.
First time to a gym. Enjoy it a lot! Very clean and seem to have everything you could want. Group excercises available. Trainers on site. Bring your own towel.
Love Crunch..Great Machines and Equipment, compact but huge spacious, and neatly choreographed layout.
Crunch Employees said that membership cancellation would be easy, unlike other Gym Membership. I have gone to their location twice and have called several times but they won't cancel my membership. They will keep telling you that your membership has been canceled and you just have to wait for next month's billing and that will be it. It's a lie and never have I had the worst customer service experience. I don't know what to do to get my refunds and for them to cancel my membership. I definitely don't recommend this gym. It's cheap in price but Workout4less is basically the same price. Workout4less have better cleaners, machine equipment, and customer service experience.
I just found out today they are closed. How is everyone going about getting refunds please.
Great facility, amazing staff, and super clean. Love it!! Would recommend to anyone looking for a gym ????????
There were a few red flags for me here, like how 2 toilets were out of order in the men’s room and 3 out of 4 soap dispensers had no soap in them. As far as equipment goes, 9 of their ~25 spin bikes were out of order, they didn’t have any cardio rowers, and there was no music playing (and to put this all into context, the gym had opened not even 2 months prior, and December is a very low attendance month anyway, which concerns me what state the gym would be in if it were busy). ANYWAY, I was pleasantly surprised with the rest of the gym. They put in a couple of platforms with bumper plates, got some turf and sleds, have a 3D smith machine (which are pretty rare), and have a really neat rig with boxing bags and an excellent storage rack for all of their accessories. One thing I would have liked to see in this space (formerly the World Health Jasper Ave location) is them knocking the wall down in what used to be the women’s only area, so that this space can reach its full potential. Now it’s just a weird maze in there with lots of mirrors.
I just walked to the gym and there's a letter stating they're closed. For those of us who paid a year contract, I hope that means payments are canceled.
Not good. Worst experience.
Do not sign up at crunch firness at all , eventually they will double charge you and with poor explanation so save your sadness )
Got charged $176.50 for September and $135.10 for August and as soon as I brought it up this girl turned on this iPad on the wall and started recording me without any attitude even being given. Cancelled the membership and the male I spoke to kept awkward pausing through out the conversation until I started being rude. Not my favorite experience. Update: They didn't cancel my membership and are charging me another annual fee for the third month in a row + $56 late fee + $28 monthly fee. Had to get a stop payment at the bank
The gym is reopened yesterday, and I’m so happy they are informed us by instagram. There are so many good advices and complains on google map, hope they can really see that, and do something. The equipments really need to be maintained, I’m coming though. Really like this gym since I’ve been workout here almost a year. Nice, good ambiance, stuffs are friendly, not oil on the cable? But something just happened... It’s closed days ago, I went to there a few times, but it’s still closed. Hope everyone can get refunds, or cancel the contracts. Although this thing seems complicated, hard to deal with, but I still hope they can open again(seems no possible). Anyway, it’s hard to find a new gym to start with, any recommendation?
Amazing facilities at a very reasonable price!
I left 3 messages for the manager to call me and she didn't bother to call over a month. I was charged wrongful 3 times, got refunded only 2 times, I'm stuck even after calling to cancel my membership they refused to answer my calls and when I used the work phone they picked up right away. I have never wrote a review in my life .. but now I think it's right to give heads up to others... I lost my money and I hope others don't have to
Friendly staff, has most of the equipment you need. Only downside is it's really busy at lunch time and the showers don't always have hot water or it takes a long time to get hot water
False promises delivered on a consistent basis. The gym itself has very good tools/trainers to help you succeed in your personal goals however, the management has been very inconsistent with their delays of promises to members. I don’t know what it is with this gym but the BO is unbearable and cleanliness of the gym is very poor compared to other experiences.
Been here a member for 7months now. Had been told I will be receiving steam facility in my membership package. It's was under repair at the time of taking the membership was told it would be repaired. Yet no repairs are done.
Lots of equipment, friendly staff. It's pretty bare-bones in some ways but that's reflected in the low price, so that's fine. However, they advertise a lot of things they aren't delivering on: sauna, classes (only just started and there aren't many), hydro massage. There is also some disorganization: the staff mean well but don't always seem informed, schedules aren't posted online.
Convenient location with so many treadmills I can always find one. Excellent arrangement of weight equipment. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
Super nice facility with brand new, high quality machines. The staff are SO friendly and make me feel welcome each time I go!
This place can be summed up as you get what you pay for. The Good: - The front desk and training staff are fantastic. They are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. - The equipment is new - They have a decent x-fit area The Bad: - The GM lied to my face when I was considering the gym. In addition, he does not respond to email inquiries (not sure if it's because he's lazy or simply does not care for his job) - They are missing some fairly standard equipment - 6 months later and the steam room still "temporarily out of service". - Change rooms are not the cleanest.
Best gym I have ever been to, the staff are wonderful and extremely helpful ????
The guy at the front desk was great....not a whole lot of room to move around though...maybe it was the time of day? Needless to say none of the clients seemed too concerned with social distancing and the club (downtown) wasn't set up like the WEM location where they closed certain machines to observe the virus protocols.... Not giving up on them...yet.
Great facility. New equipment spacious. Not Iver crowded
Nice brand new equipment and they have nicely renovated the space from the previous World Health facility. There is plenty of space and equipment and you can't beat the pricing as even their mid tier plan is affordable. The staff seem nice as well. I have removed 1 star due to the fact that the facility isn't as clean as it should be, the floors are always dirty as the staff do not enforce the rules of not allowing outdoor shoes inside the gym so members walk in with their dirty outdoor shoes and leave muddy floors. Also the showers need to be sanitized after sitting for so long, the drains are disgusting. I have also removed 1 star for the fact that the men's sauna continues to be closed, for months now. This needs to be addressed, as do the promised hydro massage facilities that are still not on site.
It's clean, bright, and never super busy. What more can you want from a gym? (I also go in the morning so that could be why ????) Reserving my last star until I can try out those massages I've been hearing about
This is the only gym I’ve ever gone to so my review probably reflect that. But I like the facility it’s nice and clean and it’s never been overcrowded when I’ve gone there so that’s nice. The staff that I’ve interacted with has all been really friendly.
Good gym for an unbeatable price. New equipment.
This gym needs to deliver on the services they advertise - specifically the group classes. So far they offer 3 classes at noon hour during the work week. They have a variety of props in the main gym for group classes - but where are these classes?? Posting a schedule for group classes would be very beneficial to current members and would perhaps spark more interest for people to join. With Goodlife opening nearby this facility might be hard pressed and better begin to deliver on their promises! I certainly don't get pumped up going to workout at this gym. Hoping it improves.
Great gym. Super inexpensive.
Love the location and staff are very helpful, also the equipment is up to date..
The gym is nice. Enough space and machines. The only BIG PROBLEM I see so far is the body odour.. I don’t know what’s wrong with people and stink so bad. Management should put signs that showering is mandatory or something.
Can't go wrong for only $10/month! Has everything you need for a solid workout.
Clean, modern revamp of a former World Health gym. Better equipment, setup, and price point. Cable pulley machine weights are adjustable via a flick rather than pins and holes, for example. Free weights are colour coded and uniform in style. Barbell weights are made of study material rather than that black playground rubber stuff that crumbles easily. There is a turf field, several squat racks, a CrossFit sort of set up with monkey bars, wall ball targets and heavy bags. Also impressed with the selection of medicine balls and kettle bells. I'm excited about the classes. A little disappointed they are not ready yet. I'll upgrade to five stars once this place is fully up and running. Right now I'm paying a premium for extras but none of those bells and whistles are available yet.
Good clean facility, staff is so helpful and welcoming. Great place to go for even just a simple workout
They are cheaters and tell you that you can cancel membership anytime and take your credit card number once you sign up they will charge you lots of fees and when you try to cancel the membership they will charge you 1 year fees because they give the reason that you sign up for 1 year so you have to pay the fees never go there if you don’t want to regret.
Used to be a 5 but I'm not exactly confident in this gym anymore. Closed for two weeks due to unpaid rent and the facilities are frequently dirty.
They stated they include a parking with the membership. And they cancelled the parking after 2 months. So please don't be fooled by these companies.
Just started my membership yesterday and loving it so far! Huge place, lots of equipment, and friendly staff. You can't go wrong with $10 per month
This gym is awesome!!! Love that I can come for 30mins during my lunch hour and not feel like I am wasting my money. I pay $10 a month and get to use new equipment and have amazing staff that always makes me feel welcome. It really motivates me to go to the gym knowing I get such great value for my dollar and I look forward to seeing the staff! Would totally recommend this place to everyone!
Very Clean gym. Friendly and knowledgeable employees. Positive & good vibes throughout the facility. STRONGLY recommend Crunch Jasper for a great price, amazing amenities & always fanstastic service.
Joined the Gym about a year ago and had a great experience up until more recently. I really liked the staff, specifically Melody and Marco - they always went out of their way to increase the customer experience and kept me coming back even though it was further from where I lived at the time. In December, I froze my membership shortly before going abroad from 6 months and was *promised* I was not going to incur any charges aside from the annual fee. I didn't receive any charges until I went into the gym to reactivate my membership more recently - where I was told I had $150+ in late charges. When I mentioned that I froze the account they looked up my file and confirmed this... - however they said that it is automatically unfrozen after 3 months...? Why was I not notified about this upon freezing my account? As I read through other reviews - I see this is not a one time occurrence but a trend. I asked why I was being charged when it clearly shows on my file that I froze it to which the desk associate said " I don't know, but there is nothing I can do. I can grab my manager but they will say the same thing." This has been a total headache to deal with and it reminds me of why I avoid low cost, big box gyms in the first place - bad customer service and zero accountability on management. The one upside in all of this is that I'm glad this happened to me before I pitched the Crunch Fitness corporate membership to the company I work for - that would have been embarrassing.
Its a gym and has what a gym should have. Bonus: has a nice space for functional fitness you can use when there is no class. So you can use the sleds, ropes etc.. Staff is friendly and Id say the place is pretty clean.
Marco is the full meal deal. He tirelessly instructs you on all the specifics that would take you years in post secondary to learn. Its ok if you don’t understand the different muscles, connective tissue, mobility exercises, form, repetition count for hypertrophic gains, because you’ve got Marco in your corner guiding you through it all. At any given day you may retain 20% of what he tells you but through repetition, he just keeps getting me better and better at all the workouts. Working out between our training I did get some strains.Injuries that would have plagued me for months were addressed, mobilized, rehabed, improving form, and I was back at full lifts in 2-3 weeks. In 6 months I have maintained my 11.5% body fat, but gained 9.2 lbs of lean mass, 1 inch on my glutes, .25 biceps, 1.75 bust, 0.25 on my thi. That is massive sustained hypertrophic growth, using new progressive full range of motion strict compound barbell heavy lifts that he taught me. Everything I thought I knew has been updated with the latest science has to offer, as he gently guides you and helps you understand. I haven't caught him once with outdated info and is WAY better than any bro science from others in the gym. I have become addicted to feeling strong, growing, and expanding my knowledge in MANY ways. The more he teaches you the more you want to learn, and develop this incredible knowledge base. I have worked out for over 20 years, and have never dreamed this progress was possible for an ectomorph like me. If you want access to elite expansive knowledge in building strength, rehab, mobility, calisthenics, HIT, and much more, Marco is highly recommended. His only area of improvement is better understanding the computer systems at crunch LOL.
I recently joined the Jasper Avenue location for only $10 a month. Now while I chose the cheapest option I am extremely satisfied with the amenities. That price you can’t beat brand new equipment extremely clean facility and a friendly helpful staff. I only wish they get the steam room running before winter ends and perhaps putting a few benches in the lobby to Take off and put on your shoes.
It’s a very nice gym. However they advertise a steam room which is fake advertising. It’s been out of order since I joined last May.
Yikes, don't ever go here unless you NEVER have to use the bathrooms. Can't imagine they ever clean this place :/
Nice new gear and equip Faults: no website or hours posted anywhere on the web. I own a business as well, very crucial to have this listed , also no massage beds or tanning beds. Those with the highest cost membership are paying for this even tho we do not have access??? Disappointed with this
Amazing customer service they help me crack my back, 10/10 would recommend :)
Old World Health location. Price is excellent - $10 - $30/month depending on the amenities you want. Equipment is decent - all brand new but missing some things (stools for box jumps, only have 2 powerlifting racks, etc.). Cleanliness is poor - locker room is dirty, showers stink, toilets are gross. Overall, especially considering that Workd Health charged approximately $50 - $60/month at this same location, good gym.
Solid gym facilities, unfortunate the front staff thinks it's appropriate to harass guests. A few staff that were working out caught glimpses of my friend and I exercising on our free day trial, and thought I was training my friend. The 3 came, pulled us from our equipment to confront us saying it's not allowed and we can get kicked out. We clarified multiple times that we're both exercising and they must have only seen small segments of our exercise. They continued to press "No, I saw you." even though they admitted they only "watched" for small moments. They were unapologetic and very confrontational throughout. Further they refused to believe potential new customers, operating totally off of bias and limited information. Its a shame as we were about to sign on memberships. Thank God we picked up on this ahead of time. I hope management provides more training on how to seek understanding and treat customers. Or better yet, hire new staff. Now to sign up for YMCA!
Great value, great staff , equipment is taken care of!
Their management isn't the best ... she promised things for nothing and will never refund miney taken by mistake or returna a simple phone call request for a month... they will take ur money even after canceling... I wouldn't refer them to enemies...
clean and welcoming
great place to go staff is good. the only thing is to many ppl go there waiting to use certain gym. some ppl hang out on them on there phones and not letting other use it. and if your late for your monthly payment you get charged for late payment and you pay the same amount that your monthly payment is so you pay double the money. they call it late charges, doesnt matter if your 3 to 5 days late.
Very convenient location for those in the vicinity. Could do with an assortment of bands for stretching and conditioning.
This gym is a joke six months after I went into to cancel my membership I noticed I’m still being charged and there’s nothing they can do for me for a refund
I was told that my membership wasn't on a contract basis only for me discover that they set me up for a yearly contract which I specifically told them against . they refused to take responsibility and charged me for cancellation. It was a very awful experience as I feel cheated by the organization. I would not recommend this place to anyone
Great environment and friendly service
Great gym for the price. My only complaint is after 3 months of going here I can already tell they aren't maintaining the equipment properly. Everything still looks new, but many of the cable and plate machines are in dire need of some grease (scraping sound when you lift) and it slowly gets worse as time goes by.
you get what you pay for here....and it seems like that isnt much. the gym closed because it could not pay the rent. they havent even reached out to members with any updates. Got a call from their financial dept saying I owe money for October - they didnt even know the location was closed. NEVER SIGN UP WITH CRUNCH. The gym was subpar, dirty, and equipment was not maintained; staff did the bare minimum. Not worth the cheap rate...obviously
The best gym u can find in downtown Edmonton
I love this gym. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Gym is clean. And I love the atmosphere and feel like it is a no judgement gym. They also have awesome trainers who really work with you to get that end result you want
BEWARE this gym has false promises on dates and actual delivery of service. Examples include: NO timeline on when steamroom, hydromassage, and spin/weightlifting classes will actually be present. Still charges FULL membership costs despite only 40% of actual services available for use. It's like buying a new phone and paying full price but being informed that top right corner of the screen doesn't work 'yet', and numbers 7, 8, and 1 don't work 'but have been ordered with no timeline on delivery'.... catch my drift?
This gym is a great gym I love it!! Staff is great, welcoming and helpful. Major down fall, however, is there are quite a few people there that have horrendous body odor aka BO. They must not shower or use deodorant to help with their sweat. This is disturbing. Management should do something about this as I am a paying member and Hygiene is just as important for the comfort of all members of a public gym. Perhaps Management should take a walk around and speak with them politely or put some signs up about being courteous to other gym participants. I don't need to tell you who it is, you just have to walk by or be working out near them. I have never in my years at gyms ever ran into such disregard to ones own BO.
Cheap affordable gym membership, decent amount of machines and equipment, locker room not cleaned as often as I would like but you get what you pay for

I joined this gym primarily because it is within walking distance of my workplace and so I could go over the lunch hour. Crunch Fitness has great prices, and the staff and equipment are excellent.
Overall pretty happy here. The prices are good and the staff is friendly. They are still missing some amenities and classes but they say they are working on that
Very nice, clean facility with new and a variety of equipment. Friendly staff and other users also offer assistance where needed with the proper use of equipment. Great price.
