You will be able to see all the opinions of people like you who use the products of TORQUE BARBELL (Gym) in Etobicoke territory (Canada).
At the present this firm has a rating of 4.9 stars out of 5 and this rating has been based on 120 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is basically the best, and it's founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may be pretty sure that the assessment is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put evaluations when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Gym corresponds to the category of Gym.
This gym had its days. But they are gone already. Benches and machines are outdated and in disparate need for maintenance. The smell of sweat is all over the place. Pictures in the website obviously are from the Golden Era that is gone.
Dropped by today to take advantage of the "free first workout" as posted on the website. And I'm quite impressed. Doesn't have amenities as some commercial chains, such as towel service, pool, sauna or even a water fountain. However! They do have all the equipment under the sun. Deadlift platforms, incline and decline benches, squat racks, and all sorts of Barbell and a HUGE assortment of Dumbbells, kettle bells, medicine balls, A TRX set up, tires, sleds, and did I mention? Chalk!!! Above all else, everyone I encountered was super friendly. The woman at the desk when I entered (Britney I think her name was) was very welcoming. Got me to sign the waiver and showed me to the locker room. the members were also welcoming. Spotting and good conversation. The Free workout is all it takes. I'll be joining Janurary 2nd 2015 4/5 stars! (I'd give a 5, but there is no water fountain, then again I'm just being picky)
Visiting Toronto from Boston and just recently started on a Westside program. I found Torque with a quick google search and the gym is the best powerlifting gym in the city I've found so far. They have most of the equipment you would need for Westside: SS Bar, Reverse Hyper, Glute Ham, bands, chains, sleds, prowler. Dan the owner was super friendly and happy to talk about all things powerlifting. Keep up the great work guys!
Good place for gains.
Couldn't be happier to have found this gym during a visit in Toronto. Reasonable drop in fee, allowed to use chalk, tons of free weights and squat racks. You walk in and you immediately know this is for serious lifters. 10/10 will visit again when in town
Awesome gym - great for athletes
They have the best staff and the atmosphere makes you want to work harder... amazing gym.
Great, clean place with a ton of different machines and a great price.
Nice gym but direspectful staffs. Never gonna go back there!
Been working out there for a few years now. Started with personal training and then moved onto the bootcamp classes. This gym is exactly what you need. Non-judgemental crowd, serious lifters, and very much a community feel to it.
Just signed up at this gym earlier this week. I've been in three times already. Thoroughly enjoying my time there so far. Lots of toys and I love the focus on powerlifting and really improving ones strength. Its a SUPER fair price and very easy to sign-up/cancel if you really wanted to. I'm going to be here for a very long time
A serious gym with a great positive atmosphere.
No judgments, you go in there, you work out, you push yourself, you pass out, you get up, you keep going! Solid machines, weights, and friendly staff. Would recommend.
A new member for the past month and I LOVE this place.
I like it! Great vibe... no salesman tactics to try to get you to stay and pay. No pressure. They want you there if you want to be there! Awesome!
Best gym out there
Great gym, great atmosphere, great people. Has all the workout equipment you could need and then some.
Great environment for bodybuilding and powerlifting. Friendly staff and very reasonable membership prices. It has lots of equipment, though a some of it is a bit runned down. Not your commercial type foo-foo gym, but definitely somewhere you go to get stronger.
It's a place for good workout.Great environment and truly hard working athletes I've ever seen.
Fantastic gym. Hands down the best gym I have ever joined. Worth every penny. Dan Petkovsek is rock solid and everyone working at Torque is top notch. Thank you
Plenty of workout options ... great staff.
Awesome gym in Etobicoke with a huge range of equipment, machines and weights. Power lifters, bench pressers and squat lovers rejoice here, Great staff and fellow members. Trainers are knowledgeable, attentive and caring. Fanatical about cleanliness, this gym is just great. Love the tires, TRX, battle ropes and my personal fave, heavy bag.
best gym in etobicoke
My local gym, has everything I need
Hidden gem. Plenty of squat racks and other equipment you would ever need. Let's you use chalk and has a nice atmosphere to the place.
Best gym you'll ever step foot into!
The most motivating gym in Toronto! Filled with Athletes, Powerlifters, Fitness Competitors, New moms and everyday Joes just working towards their goals.
I love this gym. Amazing equipment and atmosphere all around. I really like that they have a reasonable drop in fee of $10. I wished I lived closer.
A no-nonsense gym for everyone. They’ve got windows, fresh air, sunlight, lots of squat racks and free weights and a great vibe! They have lots of plates. You’ll never have to wait for equipment. Most people here look like personal trainers but NOT the kind that stare at their reflection while doing biceps curls or take selfies or grunt loudly and drop weights just to draw attention. They’re just keen on getting a good workout and mindful of others who are also getting a good workout! Everyone’s down to earth, considerate, and friendly. No judgement. People say hi and smile and you get to know people over time just from seeing them regularly (small crowd). You can be as serious or as laid back as you want. Fees are fair and reasonable. Plenty of parking. Staff are super helpful and friendly! I can’t remember the last time I was ever at a gym where I knew the staff and they knew me by name... and they’ll come rescue you if you’re about to be squashed by the weights you thought you could lift. :)
Great gym to focus on powerlifting
Over the years, I have been a member of every 'major' gym in the GTA and I’m happy to say, I’ve finally found the one. Staff is friendly, members are welcoming and social, the equipment is encompassing and you barely have to wait to use something, plenty of cardio machines with a TV to watch whatever you desire. What I love is in the summer, they open the back doors and it feels as if you are outside enjoying a workout! I mean..what other gym does that?! It’s awesome and I’d definitely recommend checking it out to anyone!
Awesome strength gym with a great community of people.
Great gym. Not your typical gym catering to the treadmill and bike folk.... You will not find many available here. It seems dog friendly because there is frequently dogs roaming around... So beware if you have an allergy
It's a great gym community and I definitely recommend being a part of this place or dropping by for a visit.
The best gym!!! Nothing else
Amazing gym! The layout and vibe is unreal! Torque has all the equipment you need plus more! Very clean and everyone including staff and members are so friendly. The merch is awesome, both women's and mens clothing which are perfect to crush a workout in!
ahhh I wish I lived in the area. This is one of the best gym in Toronto! I trained here a few times when I was in the area and it has everything you can ask for. As a serious fitness enthusiast and lover of strength training, I'm highly selective when it comes to gym environment and this gym delivers. It is a gym for serious lifters and athlethes but if you are a noobie do not be intimidated-its a judgment free zone. Owner and staff are super passionate about what they do which adds to the ambience of the place. You will not see trainers "sitting around" on their cell phones in this facility. If you are looking for a real gym-this is the spot!
Love the place & the people
Can’t wait for them to open again. Really good bootcamp classes, friendly instructors and lots of equipment.
Best gym in Toronto!
Amazing gym! Dan the owner and his staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. This gym has a great atmosphere everyone is supportive. Hands down the best powerlifting gym in Toronto!
Feel lucky to have found this gym in the GTA.
Nothing but great feedback for TBC. I bounced around various gyms in Etobicoke, including The Good Life's, Couture, etc. I found these places to be very busy, 'corporate-like', and really not inviting. There is a sense of community at Torque - from the members to the staff, everyone is welcoming and motivating. Most importantly, the facility and equipment is incredible: indoor filed turf on one side of the gym and weights/machines/cardio on the other. I have never found myself waiting for a set of weights or machine. Great job!
Amazing place with amazing people!
Great iron paradise style gym. Caters to beginners and veterans. Great for powerlifting
As a proud sister of the owner, I'm a little biased, but I am always eager to spread the word about this gym and people are never disappointed. It's well known in many fitness circles but still a hidden gem for others. It's a place to work hard, where sweat is respected, and provides a community environment where you can push your limits, make lots of noise if that's your thing, or throw on a baseball cap and some headphones and get in the zone. This place breeds motivation, from the helpful trainers to the diverse clientele, there's always someone to learn from and look up to. It's worth the drive, wherever you're from.
Stopped by here for a day while visiting family in Toronto over the summer. The service is excellent and, apart from the lack of any air conditioning, the atmosphere is great if you're looking for that old-school feel. That said, a lot of people won't like how small and barebones this place is. While I love the feel of modestly designed yet effective equipment, some of the stuff here looks more beat up than oldschool. For example the safety pin on one of the j-hooks I used was broken, the horsemat on the platform was cracking, and in general the equipment looked like it had seen better days. The place is also pretty small which means there isn't much space between pieces of equipment and also that there isn't much equipment, so you'll probably need to wait or work in with people to get a bench or squat rack. Not a huge issue for me, but definitely something that could bother some people. My wife, for example, really didn't like how cramped things were and refuses to work in with random people, so she didn't have a good workout.
Everyone here's very strong and takes lifting seriously. Inspirational to lift amongst some of the best
Switched to this gym after a year at LA Fitness; wish I had done this sooner. Great atmosphere with plenty of experience around. I'm typically a morning exerciser; there is plenty of space and machine availability (literally have never had to wait), has a family feel to the gym, and lets you get much more done in a given time than the big box gyms. Highly recommended.
Honestly I have loved this gym ever since I signed up. In March of 2017 I have signed up for this gym and when I first worked out there I was blown away by the equipment they have! Sadly I left the gym in September 2017 because night shift was literally taking a toll on my body. Then I decided to commit to a goal which is drop a ton of weight and gain it all back in muscle and so far it's going good! I have nothing but love and admiration for this gym! I hope this place never EVER shut down!!!! Even my strength for the Farmer's Walk is much better than last month! Now I can carry 360lbs from one end back to where I started! Overall I love this gym!!!
Best gym in etobicoke for serious lifters
Torque is a great place to workout. If you're looking to powerlift, or even just improve your health, it's a comfortable environment to learn and develop yourself. Great selection of machines and multiple squat/deadlift areas. Very happy with the personal training I received by Gina as well. She's a professional who will push you, but she takes time to understand each of her clients needs and limitations. Look her up if you're planning on getting a membership here! I highly recommend Torque!
Me and my wife have been doing their bootcamp for a year now and we've got a lot stronger!
Good place to work out if you don't use many machines in your routine. Always enough barbells, benches and power racks available. Very few obnoxious bodybuilder bros compared to other gyms.
Like the vibe in the morning, good to get a workout in before work
Great Gym for a power lifter or just weights, perfect place
Dan is an excellent trainer. As a beginner, I find him motivating rather than intimidating. The club has everything you need for strength training and I've felt none of the notorious gym judgement, just enthusiasm. Great experience.
Super friendly and helpful, no judgements and always a great workout.
Love this place.
awesome
This is the gym you want to go to get bigger and stronger
Best gym in Toronto. Clear the owners run it for the love of it rather than just money.
Great gym! When I first arrived, I thought I made a mistake with my directions, definitely a hidden gem. Has everything one needs to get the perfect workout. I love the unique atmosphere over big box gyms, becomes a place of familiarity over time.
