I have been a member for the last 15 years would not change it for the world. The owner is welcoming and has turned into family. Love the private womens gym, makes me feel so comfortable. The hours are great for my early morning 5am shifts, and the washroom is always clean enough for me to shower before I go to work. I enjoy the sauna for my after work workouts and the main floor has great equipment for all my workouts. Bonus locations is perfect!!! Offf the 427!!

Great atmosphere and sense of community within this gym. The equipment is well functioning and the place is kept clean and organized. Owner/Staff are very welcoming and friendly, also the sauna is relaxing after a good workout. Truly one of the best gyms in Etobicoke and definitely better than any in the immediate area. The location is an added bonus as it is off the 427 and neighbouring a gas station, residential homes and Humber College.

the owner is very rude and uptight. she has no manners and not a safe environment to workout in. the ROOFS have major leaks when it rains alittle. there are also some rats/mice in the changeroom ,DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE 5 STARS... SHE GIVES DISCOUNT IF YOU WRITE A GOOD REVIEW FOR HER BUSINESS WHEN YOU SIGN UP.. this is the worst gym in canada, the staff are not trained in cpr, they can't speak english fluently. so some customers might have difficulty. I have been working out in national gym from last 5 years! The gym is really clean, and the best part that I love is there is private gym for ladies, and sauna and lockers are provided too. The owner is really friendly and sweet. And it's at the best location finch and highway 427. :)

Worst experience! Spoke with manager over phone last week for the promo they have 99.99$ for 3 months and she said go to the gym and tell them you spoke with me and they will register you. today(16th march 2018) went there and said the same to the girl at the reception. And she was asking me if there is any such promo,!! she then spoke with manager over phone and said you need to bring a coupon first. I asked her there is no such coupon mentioned on this advertesment on road(see pictures as of today they are still on hwy 27 and finch on both sides of the intersection) she said i dont know this is what she said. Then I asked her that I want to speak with your Manager she said you cannot because she is out of town and I said you just spoke with her. She then told a lie direct in my face that she spoke with someone else not her! They also have posters on their windows saying 12.99$ for 2 weeks which is cheaper than what they have on road. i asked her then give me that I can pay for it now! she then again called her manager in front of me( this was really making me angry that she is telling lie in front of me and doing it again) and again she said for that also you need a coupon! I dont know what kind of service they have there but definitely not professionals! false advertisement is a crime!

I moved to the area two years ago. I had been going to Planet Fitness for almost a yea but I got tired of the crowds and waiting to use equipment. I had seen National Gym many times while driving by but never went to check it out. Actually, I did a google search and was turned off by the negative reviews, so that’s the reason why I didn’t bother to look into it any further. I joined for 6 months back in November after my friend recommended National Gym to me. I’m just writing this review to express my complete satisfaction with this gym. I’m able to go in very early (5am) to get a workout done before work. Even during evenings (around 7pm) I never have to wait for equipment. Their strength machines are really fantastic. The cardio section is good enough to get the job done. Their free weight section is spacious and I don’t have to wait for dumbbells…THIS IS REALLY FANTASTIC! The bathroom/shower/locker/sauna area is also very clean. I recommend this gym to anyone, whether a senior, student, or a bodybuilder. It’s got everything including flexible membership plans…you could do a 1/3/6 month membership or a year. I want to go on record and say that the staff have been very polite – contrary to what is written in many of these reviews. I just come in, scan my card, and sometimes get a “hi how are you?” or “have a nice day.” I’ve made a few friends at the gym, and some of them have been going here since 1998. WOW. I must say that they look very young and fit for their age. I’m just writing this to say that I’m glad I found this gym and I’m glad that it’s become a part of my daily routine. Absolutely worth the money and it’s closer to my house than planet fitness (my wife encourages me to walk over, but I only do that when I want to impress her a little bit). National Gym might not be the Conrad or Hilton of gyms but considering that we’re talking about Rexdale, it’s pretty damn close enough. I wish I joined earlier. Fantastic atmosphere!

It's been 2+ yrs since i have been here in Canada and this has been the only gym where i have worked on...From free weights shinning on the racks to other leverage and cable machines National Gym stands way above other corporate gyms (big names but fake names)...The owner single handedly gives her best to make a healthy environment... Sauna, lockers, Lesser crowd, Separate Ladies workout area and Ample parking lot makes the xp's of the gym...

The gym is easily accessible and has many equipments allowing for an efficient workout. The prices are on the higher end but for the quality of the gym, it's worth the price. The owner and the customers and friendly. The gym has good maintenance and provides a great environment, especially during the pandemic.

I recently got a 3 month membership at this gym, and I totally plan on extending it! I had been feeling really stressed, frustrated and groggy at home. With two daughters, things can get hectic, no doubt. I needed an outlet to help me cope with all of that, and this is where National Gym comes in. One thing to note, I had not been to a gym since October, 2012. I had went to Humber from 2015-2017 and once again, never used their gym facilities. I never considered myself a gym person, but times have been a bit rough, and I decided it was time to find a gym to go to. National Gym is conveniently located a 5 minute walk from my apartment. I have seen the gym numerous of times in the nearly 6 years I've lived in Rexdale, but never once went inside, until recently, of course. The gym is great. There's a homey feeling to it. It's never loud, it's never packed, even during peak hours. I really like this aspect. The gym's management are very nice people. Welcoming and accommodating. The gym has two floors; a main floor where men and women can work out alongside each other, and an upstairs section for strictly women only. This is really unique and fantastic at the same time, as there are some women that simply do not feel comfortable working out in front of men, for their own individual reasons. The past couple of times I've went to the gym, I went to the upstairs women section. Not because I feel uncomfortable on the main floor, but it feels more serene upstairs. The gym is well equipped with all the expected exercise equipment; treadmills, elliptical machines, bikes, abdominal/leg machines, free weights, and MORE! The gym's washrooms are really clean, and as a bonus, have showers and a sauna. The sauna would be good for those who are looking to soothe/relax sore muscles/tendons. The shower is good for those who don't want to leave the gym sweaty, especially if you'e headed out to work or school afterwards. There is abundant, free parking. Their hours are: Monday-Friday: 5 AM to 11 PM, and Saturday-Sunday: 7 AM-7 PM. If you're a person that likes to go to the gym after midnight, you won't be able to, here. For me, these hours are perfect because I have children and I never would have the desire to work out during those wee hours of the morning. All in all, I really like the gym. My biggest plus for the gym is that it's QUIET!! I'm sure it may have its noisy moments, but I've yet to see that. It doesn't have the ambience like Good Life or Planet Fitness, where there's a lot of human traffic, waiting to use machines, and poor customer service. The prices are very reasonable, too! If you want a quiet environment to work out, this is your gym, I've never been to a gym like this one!! Highly recommend!!!

Great clean gym, but if you plan to work out around 6AM, then this gym isn't for you. They are late opening usually 3 days a week, and when I called to inform the owner, she was very rude and even hung up on me. I also reported that a treadmill shut off in the middle of an 8mph run and management didn't even bother to have it serviced, they just unplugged it and plugged it back in. Definitely don't recommend this gym to any user.

Everytime I go here the equipment I wanna use is always free and ready to use, which is great. This gym has a variety of dumbbell weights which range from 5 to 200 lbs and many plates for the barbels. Squat, bench and the deadlift area are free 90% of the time. The gym is also clean and well maintained. I have no complaints about this gym.

Love this gym! Quiet and not crowded at all. However, I usually use the second floor, and the barbell bar there is sort of broken. It's not safe to use so I hope they will change it soon as I use it for deadlifts, overhead press, overhead squat, and bench press. The barbell bar is not screwed properly, so I would always have to make sure that it's 'screwed' enough to not fall off. Overall, this gym is awesome!

Been training for a little over 2 years. Very friendly people. Gym is always clean and organized even during rush. Management is constantly improving one thing after another to better asist everyone in the gym. Never packed or over crowed can do your workout and get out in no time. I would recommend this place. I am a member with the National gym since 2001 , I really enjoy my work out , they have a band new machines, relaxing Sauna, lockers, showers and washrooms, it is very clean , the owner is very very nice, friendly staff and helps a lot , very good customer service, better prices it is a very good deal, I really like this Gym, they open 7 days a week and all holidays and I work out in the main floor but also I like the private Gym on the second floor too for the ladies, may GOD bless this business ..

Been coming here for a few months and I've had a good experience. It rarely gets busy even during peak hours which is perfect for me. They only have one squat rack but because it's usually pretty empty you don't have to wait around. I deadlift here and sometimes that means dropping weights but I've never had a problem here with management. As far as I can see they're always trying to keep things well maintained, fixing something here or there every week, and the place is clean. The atmosphere is friendly, and everyone at the front desk is always super nice. Happy with this gym!

After being a client of this gym for over 7 years. They have finally lost me as a customer. Every single year the rates have increased. I have every single receipt to show for it as well. I came in to renew my membership and was charged an even higher price than the year prior even after showing last year’s receipt I was told a small “discount” could be made if I paid cash. Very distrustful business practices. The increase in membership fees were not my problem, it was the integrity and care shown to such a long term client of the gym. I do not recommend this gym to anyone as for many hours as well there is no supervision within the premises either. Very unsafe. I am truly insulted having also referred many clients to the gym over the year, that this is the treatment I have received. I am not the same scared little high schooler who could be taken advantage of anymore. Stay away

I am truly thankful that I was able to find this gym. First of all, I really appreciate the staff, they are very helpful and approachable. The membership fees are much cheaper than other gyms. The main floor is where most of the weights and equipments are, this is where both men and ladies can exercise while upstairs are exclusive for ladies ( nice place for those who wants to workout with fellow ladies only). The equipments are in good shape. There are change rooms for ladies and men. You can also put your personal belongings in the locker, just make sure to bring your own key. Their washrooms are always clean. Gym members are friendly as well. I really enjoy going to this gym, it is not crowded so you can use any equpments you want. Overall, I am happy with my experience and I would recommend this place.❤❤

National Gym is one of the best in etobicoke.. Top line equipment. My favourite part is the strength equipment like plate loaded machines and brand new metal free weights more than 200 Lbs. and variety of barbells. After workouts more best thing is amazing Sauna rooms and clean washrooms . My sister and friends workout upstairs they have privater gym for ladies too.. This gym i notice is always clean, fully maintained and have reasonable prices with good management .

I go to this gym because i live so close. here are just a FEW things that bother me and some other people that come with me. 1. unprofessional 2. equipment is old and outdated 3. machines stop randomly while running - very dangerous. one of my friends almost got injured 4. workers vaccume while you're exercising 5. dirty 6. the owner is rude and very unprofessional 7. the owner leaves a sign saying "be back in 5 min" " don't enter until she comes back" HOWEVER, she leaves for several hours so if you come in and encounter this notice, please run. 8. machines are broken and she blames you if it gets even worse PROS: women / men have own side

This gym is a great facility with very reasonable membership rates. The staff is friendly, polite, accommodating and always willing to help. I've been going to this gym almost daily for 5yrs and have never had any problem. There are so many gyms out there and I've tried most but I've found this to be the best suited to me and my needs. The equipment is varied and clean and the space is open and bright and the hours are great, especially for someone with a hectic work schedule, like myself. I don't normally write reviews but in recommending this gym to a family member, I was questioned about some unfavourable reviews. To be clear, I was not offered any "special deals" in exchange for a positive review, nor was I asked to write a review at all. I've been using this gym for many years and that's because, put simply, it's a great gym. This isn't one of those ridiculously pompous gyms, it's a gym for people who are serious about getting a good workout in a productive, clean environment, and then going on with their day.

Best business motto ever. "We don't need the business." Someone please tell me I'm still in Canada? They mop the floors while you workout. I'm sure its safety risk aside from the brutal smell from the old mop they use. The posted closing time of 11pm or 10pm do not apply at this gym they turn off the lights 45mins early. After complaining about the safety issue the owner and staff refuse that they are doing anything wrong. I forgot to mention they do not have a first aid kit on hand for the steep price you are paying. Rude and obnoxious owners resort to SPYING watching the gym cameras at home and then come into the gym yelling at clients for not putting away a simple dumbbell. Probably why this failing gym has been up for sale so many times. All in all the women OWNER needs to get her attitude in check. If you really doing so good get properly trained staff so you don't have to stand there watching everyone. So what if no one is interest in buying your gym when you list it for sale every year. I don't need your crappy attitude. Update: Went back nothing has changed.... Was offered a discount to give a 5 star rating meaning al the 5 stars reviews are fake lol. Farlo
