You may have noticed that its rating is high, and it is founded on a very large number of opinions, so we may be quite sure that the valuation is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they are pleased, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to put opinions when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Gym corresponds to the category of Gym.
Everyone is very friendly especially Supriya
Crowded. Stuffy service.
One of the representatives Michael P. I'm going tanning every Sunday for several weeks at the same time preparing for vacation. Michael P was kind enough to give me a call Confirming the condition and scheduling of the stand up to Facilitate my busy schedule. Thank you very much.
Clean workout faculty
Great club and staff.
Good place to workout. Very small and the staff can be rude at times but decent place for the most part to workout.
This location is definitely over crowded with poor ventilation. So many people and it's so muggy. It's gross. There are lots of cardio machines & a decent weights area, but the place is so rammed you can hardly access any equipment you want. Goodlife needs to build additional large clubs in this area so that the members can be split up between the two. (The other two clubs nearby are small and cramped - or poorly set up) I don't pay attention to clientele or staff so I can't speak to that- but as for the gym itself, I waste more time trying to get machines than i actually spend getting a work out in.
Overcrowded and machines are often broken.
This place has a steam room :)
I'm loving this gym. Honestly. Its clean, busy (but not overly so) the energy is good, free parking and right on the subway.
It's open 24 hours and that's the best part. The gym is a bit overcrowded with machines and the staff isn't the most hospitable.
Great location, though never a time where it's not insanely busy.
Aw yeah. This is the spot to get your pump on. Pretty standard goodlife. Good wet sauna in the mens when its working. Bring flip flops unless you want athletes foot. Get some
I reccomend avoiding peak afterwork hours if you plan on using any of the equipment (4:30-8:30pm), however I typically only go later for the 5:30pm spin classes which tend to be emptier. Otherwise I will head over between 5-6:30am, before work, at which time you will have access to the equipment and less crowding. No issues with customer service so far.
The staff make this place! Friendly staff that greet you with a smiles, and the trainers are knowledgeable and professional! All the staff are wonderful and always make time to say hello and and help you any way they can!
Terrible gym, had the worst service here from any GoodLife ever, associates at the front entrance being really rude and talking smack after i checked in, judging me and coming up to me for no absolute reason, heard from others at the gym they harass the people working out there a lot, manager completely unprofessional when brought it up, will never go back.
Much more busy then other locations. They need to put a limit as to the number of people allowed at once. It's to bad as the location was good.
Close to home, free underground parking, always super busy and crowded, outdated equipment. Need upgrades.
I like this club, however... Not the cleanest. They run out of towels. This time of year it can be hard to get a machine. Slow to repair machines.
Good location. The staff is friendly and is ready to help at anytime. The only downside is the towel situation... People keep stealing them, and as a result, there's often a shortage.
Well maintained and clean.
Serious management issues ... front desk unable to look up memberships even with government id
This is the one of the two GoodLife locations can be called as gym in Toronto.
Nice gym but very crowded
Hands down one of best locations, parking is available with validation
I joined here today after checking out many other gyms. Julia sold me on the place by being so helpful and super nice! It looks clean and safe. Looking forward to spending more time there
Good
This place gets packed! If you think you're going to have a quick after work lift then think again! Even during non-peak times, this place gets pretty crowded. The free weight area is pretty small. The air flow is also terrible, there are large fans set on max all over the gym, trying to circulate some air. It's not my first choice but it gets the job done. They validate your parking for the underground lot which is cool!
Over all pretty good. They do a good job of keeping the machines in working order. Can be busy sometimes, but you can't beat the location. Clean, well lit. Could use bigger washrooms.. but that may be a limitation of the building. One thing.. can we get rid of the music? Great Noon Hour Yoga classes by the way!
I purposely drive the extra distance to come here due to free underground parking (ticket has to be validated inside gym) during cold winter days. It's smaller than other goodlife locations, less machines, gets crowded during peak times, but the convenient parking and 24hr times makes this location a desirable option over other locations.
They have a large variety of machines. But it’s always crowded doesn’t matter what time you go. It’s pretty clean and the staff greets you every time u enter or leave.
Decent gym ... could have a better selection and double up on some equipment. This was before the expansion. Best times to beat the crowds: 5 am and 9 pm
Needs more bench presses.
Cons: No deadlift platform/squat rack combos, only 2 squat racks and a Smith machine, leg press machine is poor, 2 flat bench presses. Pros: Parking is free for 2 hours, $5 if you are a minute over. Had reasonable machine selections. A below average GoodLife in terms of equipment and space.
Looks like they've fixed the treadmill/personal TV machines, which I LOVE (they also have a great channel selection). My only area of improvement would be new, wider lockers (like at Liberty Village). And getting into a Body Pump class on the weekend is impossible. Would love it if they added another AM class.
I want to like this gym. The location is good for me and the layout is okay for what it is. The problem is the men's shower room. It has been well over a year and nothing has been done. There is a disgusting smell as soon as you enter the steam/ shower area. They first put up a sign that says, 'we are aware of the unpleasant odor and are working on it.' Months later nothing has changed but the sign. It now reads, 'we are aware of the ONGOING unpleasant odor', all while assuring you the area is cleaned regularly. I agree it is not from improper cleaning but most likely bad plumbing. They just don't care to fix it.
The Location is too small for the amount of people or the area itself, the equipment is not organize at all. People is not following the rules of cleaning and organizing the equipment after exercise.
Not the most up-to-date location, but it is improving.
My current workout schedule is 8:30 to 9am Pros: Staffs are friendly, hardworking, and cheerful. Cons: It's crowded. If I don't get up early I have to cancel my workout for it takes 10-15 minutes to wait for an equipment (unless you're lifting the same weight). Shower rooms are 6/10 in terms of cleanliness. It stinks sometimes and floor is really slippery and slimy. Lockers are always 80% full, expect frequent side by side usage.
Cool
This is the worst goodlife fitness location I have seen. 1. Vending machine doesn’t work 2. They dont have shaker bottles 3. Machine doesn’t work properly. 4. It’s smaller than my house. If you come to this gym, You’ll leave within 10 minutes. DO NOT VISIT
Equipment is a bit dated. Feels like an old good life. Probably could use some Reno and face lift given the amount they charge for memberships .
Tried to sign up for a Goodlife Membership at the Islington and Bloor location and was completed disrespected by an employee named Sabrina. Not only did she ask way too personal questions in my opinion, but when I told her I was uncomfortable with her questions, she had complete disregard for my comfort and rolled her eyes at me and looked at my friend (who had a goodlife membership) as if to receive some sympathy from them. My friend even spoke up and said that they were not asked these intrusive of questions when they signed up. I asked to fill out the form on my own and was denied so, my money and I walked right out the door. Your employees need sensitivity training and when someone says they are uncomfortable they need to respect that. It isn't always easy to go to the gym. I have never had an issue at any other gym but this was ridiculous. Would give negative stars if I could. You couldn't pay me to go there now. The place also was dark and smelly.
Busy place but very good spin classes
Good selection of weights and cardio and has a babysitting service
The place is ran by cheap people. I go 5-7 days a week there and i greet the guys in the counter and yet they have to double check my card for them to give me a towel. A FREAKING TOWEL. They also put magnetic stripes on their towels. WHO THE F STEALS TOWELS and how is this a problem in a Business Tower where they are located. ITS A RICH AREA. how fkn cheap do you have to be. Secondly they renamed their wifi to (AUDIO ONLY) to push people to use only Spotify or music only and no Youtube or Netflix. Last but most important. When their machine breaks, they will take their time (and trust me when i say THEIR TIME) which is like a month and half to fix 1 freaking machine. The cleaners keep the place/machines clean but the people who work there look like they dont give a flying F about the place.
SH'BAM is #awersome #enjoy_your_life
Gets very busy. Once the Sobeys in the building opens up, parking is going to be a mess; it’s been an on going issue for months even prior to the renovations that were being done to the building
Packed but programs and instructors are good
Great location, free parking lot for two hours limit, not too crowded on Sundays. Friendly customer service agents.
Great place to workout
Sucks that this gym is so close to my school campus. It is the only GL that's not out of the way for me to get to. Low rating because it's ALWAYS CROWDED. ALWAYS! except after 9pm, it does die down. Staff are exceptional. Tanning is OK... bulbs dim and flicker momentarily.
Convenient location for anyone on the West end. Sprawling layout with separate sections for weights/cardio. Validation for underground parking available.
Don't like it but have to stay because of contract. Nobody seems to organize weights (or put them back) . Staff is unpleasant to be around and spend time on chit-chatting, only friendly with those who spent money on their training. Towel service is no longer included with basic membership (that's what I've been told). Steam room smells like piss. For 60 bucks this is an arserape.
Definitely better than planet fitness but there are certainly better gyms (including other goodlife gyms) available. Limited floor space means there are only 3 squat racks which usually require a wait. Other machines are pretty limited, but goodlife makes a pretty good use of their space. Unfortunately this gym cannot support the amount of users at peak hours so expect to add at least half an hour to your workout during those times.
Very nice staff clean work out area
Mosyly helpful staff. A few crusty staff though. Gym reeks though, not good air flow. Crowded at 5 with no cardio machines avail. People sitting on machines not even working out but texting on phone thus tying up the machine. Washrooms could be cleaned more frequently.
My original review has suspiciously disappeared. Stating again that I don't feel safe at this facility with half the people walking around the weight room without masks. Please GoodLife do something about this, when the club first reopened they actually told everyone upon entering to wear a mask when not actively exercising. Now there are just a couple of signs at both hallways which indicate masks are only required in hallways or walkways. I guess the weight room does not qualify as a walkway.
GoodLife is a huge step up from Extreme. yes they have their problems, but a massive and Canadian improvement over the Yankee rip-off artists.
My favourite location. It is a bit small. It may get crowded really quick, but so far the staff has been ok and the premises are always clean. Only complaint might be that many users spend lengthy amounts of time on their cellphones while blocking equipment and when I’ve told staff, they’ve never dealt with this. Everything else, is usually pretty ok tho.
I expected to start immediately after my sign up, but I need to book a time with a personal trainer for assessment. But, I was able to join the classes at the same day, and it was great. The carpets seems to be changed and the equipment looks in excellent conditions. The men's change room wasn't smelling bad. Seems that they actually did some renovations, and I give 4 stars.
I was hesitant to get a membership because a lot of reviewers were saying this place was very crowded. I signed up anyway and can say it's not as bad as what others were saying. Mind you, I'm generally using the gym before 10am (M-F). Saturday mornings are pretty busy but I've never had an issue waiting more than 1-3 minutes for someone to clear a weight machine. And I've never had to wait for an elliptical prior to using the weights. Seems like a well maintained facility. You can check Google for peak times and avoid these periods if possible. If you're using a machine near the windows, and the sun is out, it can get a little warm but there's usually a large fan nearby to circulate the air (hasn't been that busy that I'm forced to use any of the machines near the windows). Everyone I've spoken to at the front desk is friendly and helpful. I haven't witnessed trainers making other members move off the machines for their clients to use.
The terrible experience in this unit made me sure Goodlife is not worth my money. Unless you pay a fortune for a personal trainer, they will treat you like nothing. Have it in mind and also be careful with their broken machines that they don't put away even when highly dangerous to users. Almost got trapped in it and even with so much staff around no one helped me.
Old gym, impossible to find parking.
Good
I always have a great experience at this gym, people leave me alone and I do my thing. The only negative experience I have is the weight room, full of meat heads who think they are hercules! but whatever that happens in every gym. Personal trainer is great and gets you on the right track, I did the 3 pack sessions; however they don't tell you the cost to continue with a personal trainer is an additional "thousands" per year! Might work for some...but not me. Locker rooms can use an update from the 90's carpeting, and class instructors can be a little more attentive. But overall it's cool.
It looks bigger than what it is. It lacks of important machines.
Signed up for a trial membership at the Bloor Islington location with a friend and was completely disrespected by a cold employee who lacked any sort of social common sense or sincerity. She asked extremely intrusive questions and would not let up even when we were visually and vocally uncomfortable. She continued her sales pitch with no regard for my goals of coming to Good Life. I would have expected more kindness and compassion from members of your team especially when attempting to welcome new members who are unsure or anxious about joining a gym. This is not a welcoming environment. Your team needs education on how to be actual decent human beings interested in bettering people's lives, not just making a buck.
Great staff and good equipment. One of my fav GoodLifes.
Busy most of the time. Too many people for the amount of equipment and space. Towels often unavailable because they don't have enough for so many people. Summer brings tonnes of teens who mostly just socialize with their friends and get in the way (sorry but true). Staff are friendly and gym is kept clean; it's just too small.
Incredibly busy seemingly at all times because there are so few of each type of machine.
This is my home gym. I love it. Staff are great and it's super clean... Only thing is it gets super busy during peak times so plan for that when you come.
My gym. The best. Lots of equipment and space, seldomly crowded.
It's always full
This was a terrible experience. So terrible that I have no choice but to file a complaint with their head office. Very negative environment. The general manager is amazing and tried his best to fix the issue but everyone has a breaking point and I've had it with rudeness, bad attitudes, and negativity. Goodlife is not cheap and parking is also expensive. Overall this was below a one star experience but I don't have a zero star option or even a minus option. What I expect from staff: -respect -politeness That is all. Never coming here again and it looks like I'm gonna find a new gym.
It's nice, clean, good location but way too over crowded.
Very small and uncomfortable to work out. Every equipment to close together
Old machines and missing many machines. Its been a month now and no bags ??!!!
I had the worst experience with their customer service representative. I'm never going to GoodLife again in my life. They are liars. Don't trust their PTs. Get everything in writing for your membership. Huge rip-off. Paid $100 to cancel rather than going to a place where people don't have any values - liars. Guys I recommend not to go to GoodLife.
Clean gym. Grunting and slamming weights allowed. Relatively nice people come to this location but it can get crowded during peak hours. True 24/7 location which with free underground parking is amazing. Bring your ticket with you and they have a machine that will cover 2-3 hours I believe. Great if you plan to be in the area for a while ;)
Extremely busy on the weekends
It’s a good gym, but there’s always far too many people in there for the space. They need to restrict how many people can be in at once, or open another location.
No common sense to equipment and layout. It's like a gym for seniors. Equipment is centered in front of split mirrors, so you can't see your form properly etc. Just feel they lacked common sense setting it up.
Except occassionally stinky steam room everything else seems fine to me.
It's a Goodlife, they're all the same. All of the machine s one could want, somewhat busy and also the star wasn't very friendly.
Love this location, free two hour parking.
Accessible via ttc. Clean and well maintained. If you do drive you'll need to validate your parking before you leave.
The place is very convenient for me, but the locker rooms can get really dirty, the steam room is always filthy in the men's change room. But the worst part about it is, the personal trainers seem very rude. I remember working out and having a couple of them scoff at me. It really is not a very nice atmosphere, and I think the personal trainers need to not be so terrible with their attitudes.
Two things to point out for a one star review. -First, overcrowded during rush hours (8-11am, 3-6pm, and 9-11pm) and with no staff to police their "re-racking/No slamming weight" policy it is hardly bearable to workout in. Even the PTs do not bother to speak up on other members even if they are in earshot distance with clients and by the look on their clients faces are clearly put off also by other non pt paying members. -Second, after said rush hours especially after the late night 9-11pm the change room, washroom, and shower/sauna area feels like a gas station pit stop. Smell of mold and mildew, towels everywhere, bottles used paper towels, Dust and every corner and equipment and sometimes (hard to picture) a bit of feces streaked on the change room seats from members after they sat down bare are downright sickening. (look where you sit in the change room) AND Finally, PLEASE! hire a late night cleaning staff! The two Filipino couple that cleaned the club before did an amazing job but they felt it wasn't worth it to do what was being given in return so they left. This is my home gym since 2011 and if David Patchell-Evans said “It’s all about caring.” then how much does this location really care about their member's health if they sport moldy and unsanitary areas.
Pretty big gym. They got lots of cardio machines and 3 squat racks and big locker rooms. Wish they had more cable machines. They got great perks parking validation and massage chairs. Overall great place.
3 traditional squat racks (plus 1 or 2 Smith); 3 assisted pull-up machines; 2 flat press; 1 incline, 1 decline.
This gym has thieves who will break your locker and steal your stuff. This happened with my husband and when we ask their staff then they will not even show concern about you. Such a worst service. Try to avoid this gym pls
Busy gym. Good equipment but not much. Even the sauna is very busy .
Decent gym that’s busy and not enough machines or space to accommodate the level of members that flus this gym especially in the mornings all the way up to 10:30am The machines they have here are old and semi-outdated. They don’t have enough duplicates most of the machines are single units e.g. if you want to do leg press you have to wait in line for the machine
A little over crowded for its size, and slightly disorganised machine-wise. However it has what you need and is big enough to find space. (Some of the staff are VERY nice, and others...NOT a great experience for the few times I've been there)
I've been a member here for almost a year and find the staff are nice and helpful. The cleaning staff do a great job for the amount of members that come to this gym. It is a great location, being across the street from bus and subway station. It is on the small end if you like free weights. Yes, you will have to wait during the busy times, but most members are great and are accommodating. If I had a wish list, it would be that they would get a standing calf raise machine and 1 or 2 more racks for squatting and pulling.
Nice place but I’d love to see more équipement and perhaps a punching bag. Good staff overalll
This gym has a cardio room (elliptical, treadmill, stationary bikes, stairclimbers, etc), a weight room (two power racks, one squat rack, one Smith machine, two flat benches - no chalk allowed), two fitness studios and a spin studio. I enjoy the virtual training options in the spin studio which include classes and scenic videos to help pass the time. Staff are friendly and helpful. The change rooms are nice and large, with a separate area for blow-drying and makeup application. The showers are a little gross (moldy ceiling tiles and curtains). It's very busy at lunch and right after work/school (4-6).
Great place to work out, clean and fresh. Nice staff. A bit hard to deal with parking because it’s shared with Sobeis and other offices
I'm not sure what to rank it but I was there at 9 am on a Sunday morning and it was pretty full. So I can't imagine how it is on a weekday.
Nice friendly staff.
Place is always packed and crowded
Wish the change areas were cleaner...the staff does it's best but the member's just don't care.
Worst gym I have ever worked out in. Very busy during most hours of the day. The steam room is out of order more often than not. Strange layout to the weights room. I often have to wait 10+ minutes to use equipment. I would never recommend anyone to work out here.
U guys need a hatch squat machine , like in other goodlife gyms. Everything else its ok.
Great gym with amazing staff. Free parking too
The location is great but the gym is in need of a face lift, for such a good location it's sad that the equipment is out dated, the part I dislike the most about this gym are the bathrooms as they are always filthy everytime I've visited. The steam room gives off a very bad odour to the point where I had to change back to my clothes and go home to shower
Great equipment and environment.
very busy, always have to wait for equipment, impossible to find weights because nobody racks them, condition of equipment is not good. If you are looking for more of a social scene and classes this might be right for you.
great location, good locker are, shower and bathroom are disgusting..
As far as Toronto gyms come, it’s not too bad. Even during the rush hour, there’s tons of machines available
Pretty awesome gym, glad it is a true 24hr gym.
Great staff.
Awesome late night staff... gets way too busy in the day, but training at night is wicked-cool.
Good environment and very organised.
They steal your money
I have been working with Ian, personal trainer extraordinaire, since mid-May 2015 and have really improved my health. The benefits have outweighed the drawbacks I have noticed in other reviews. For a place that is so busy, the equipment is well-maintained. Also Amie is a great RMT.
Thieves are stealling stuff in loccker room of this gym.
This is my favourite GoodLife though I haven't been during peak hours so I couldn't comment on that. The steam room feels a bit yucky so I don't bother with that. I prefer this Goodlife's atmosphere as there seems to be more elderly people than gym d-bags at this location so if you are a young female it is much more comfortable compared to other experiences.
This is the gym who would've let a man die on their watch due to indifference and incompetence if it wasn't for a gym member who was trained in CPR (Alex Jade). I call on all gym members to cancel their memberships and move to another location who actually cares about their clients. I'm disgusted by what has transpired and I hope the person who "casually walked up to the man having a heart attack and just left a defibrillator" receives the same level of respect next time he/she is dire need of help. Below is a quote from a CBC News article describing what took place: Alex Jade, 29, was working out at a GoodLife Fitness club near Bloor Street West and Islington Avenue on Jan. 13 when she noticed a staff member carrying a defibrillator and casually walking over to a man lying on the gym floor. "He was on the ground, face blue, his eyes rolled back," said Jade about the man on the floor. "The staff member put down the defibrillator and took a few steps back — didn't even turn it on." Peoples lives don't seem to hold much value to your staff and yet you better make sure that you're members are charged regularly and up-sold on your BS, useless and incompetent services!!
Best Wednesday night class - shazam with the best teacher ever she is so fun and makes the class very enjoyable
Good gym. Can be almost too busy because how central it is. Only downside is the amount of trainers that have changed, they lost a lot of great people.
Shittiest customer service I've ever seen. Managers are intentionally hiding all information from you. And then they are got "suddenly" billed. As an answer for my reasonable question "what is the hell" they calmly told me that "it's not our job to tell you, it's in your contract". Save your money and sanity and never use this company.
The gym is very deceiving from the outside it looks totally small, once inside very spacious. Convent to my house, about a 5 minute walk. Inside Islington station which is another plus! Great location, clean, everything you need in one place.
Gets packed easily. Staff also isnt that welcoming.
(Translated) Very good gym, various fitness equipment, sometimes crowded (Original) 非常好的健身房,健身器材多样,有时会拥挤
Their group classes are amazing. One of the best gym, I have ever been to.
Convenient location in etobicoke with 24 hour
(Translated) The gym is huge. The service is very nice and the staff is very patient. It has free wi-fi and clean bathrooms. (Original) A academia é enorme. O atendimento é muito bacana e o pessoal é bem paciente. Tem wi-fi freee banheiros limpos.
Small and crowded but lots of group classes
Amazing staff. I signed up for personal training sessions with Ian. He is fun, encouraging, reliable, and skilled--a true delight to train with. He was able to walk the fine line between drill sergeant (which I needed) and chill workout buddy (which I wanted) with an ease that is uniquely him. I have worked out muscles that I didn't know even existed, and even when I yelled and screamed after an excruciating 10th rep of some crazy exercise, I always felt terrific at the end and for the rest of the day. Ian is one of a kind.
Staff are miserable and rude! Poor customer service!
That location is really bad one . I had really bad experience and I don't recommend anyone go there
Good
staff are amazing especially the people that work Sunday morning,
great gym
The gym itself is fine but.............. Except for when working out it says mask are required in the building. On Friday there where at least four members who didn't have a mask with them in the gym and they walk around the entire time without any staff saying anything to them. I have gone into the change room where almost no one is wearing a mask. I space myself out and you have members come right beside there is enough room to social distance.
This place looks great. staff is awesome! Place is kept very clean too!
I had the worst experience with them while I was trying to cancel my membership. I tried to cancel my membership more than a month ago since I didn't use the facility for more than a year and I was paying for nothing. When I went to cancel the manager tried to convince me not to and to give my self couple of weeks to think about it, she told that I'll have to pay $5 to put my membership on hold for 2 weeks. When I asked what will happen after these 2 weeks she said that it'll be AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED. She asked me to send her an email if I changed my mind and needed to keep the membership. What actually happened was that the payment didn't stop, after the 2 weeks they started to charge me again for my membership that was supposed to be CANCELLED!!!!! when I went yesterday to speak to her she told that maybe there was a miscommunication and it works the other way around, I was supposed to email her to cancel not to keep my membership!!!!! I'M 100% SURE ABOUT WHAT SHE TOLD ME. I remember that I asked her so many times and made sure to ask before I leave and she said I don't have to do anything else to cancel. Anyways, she assured me yesterday that my membership was cancelled but she can't do anything about the money that I paid already and she gave me the customer service number to call them and try to figure it out with them!!!!!!!! Then this morning when i was checking my bank account i found that they charged me AGAIN!!!!! I called the customer service and they told that there's nothing they can do and I have to go again to the manager to talk about it in person and try to figure it out with her!!!!!!! WHAT?!!!!!!!! I'll just call the bank to stop the payment " which I was supposed to do from the beginning but I was counting on the name of the company so I didn't think that I'll need to do this". It's the worst experience, when I canceled my membership I was debating if I should keep it but after this experince I'll NEVER EVER recommend it to anyone or even think about going back there!!
I wish this wasn't the only gym close to work. The trainers here are the most inconsiderate gym workers I have ever met - conceited, selfish, refuse to share space or let you work in. The gym is constantly crowded and something in the washroom is always out of order. I heard one trainer say out loud "I hate training clients. Id rather be in sales". All they care about is taking your money. Don't go here if you can avoid it.
This gym definitely needs a proper air ventilation
Clean spacious and has all you need
With a wide array of easy to use, quality and approachable equipment, this is a premier fitness centre in the area. There is a wide array of drop in classes and pay per service features like trainers and even tanning beds to support anyone interested in fitness from beginner to experienced professional athlete. This is not an intimidating environment but rather supports courtesy and respect for self-improvement. A welcoming and highly diverse community is reflected here in its staff and members.
Awesome staff! Great location! Clean most of the time! I had the best trainer money can buy! Both him a(aloysius) and there manager Danilo helped me to achieve my goal! Lost 60 pounds and counting! Thank you guys!
Great place to workout. They have a huge cardio area as you could see in the photos. Their weight and machine area is a little divided but well organized and clean. The locker area is very clean and spacious. You could park in the P1 area for 2 hours for free. This gym is wheelchair accessible.
This Goodlife sucks. Nobody puts weights back. It's busy. There aren't many benches. Bloody annoying to workout here.
STEVEN WAS REALLY HELPFUL AND IS DOING AN EXCELENT JOB!! HE WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING AND COMPASSIONATE. THANKYOU
Friendly helpful staff there. Underground parking free for 2hrs. Nice assortment of equipment. 5 stars if it was a bigger space, but the layout works well there.
This gym is nice. Plenty of equipment and free weights to use. Staff is friendly and change rooms are nice
Please clean the showers and change rooms more often
Disappointed that the participants have to provide the passport for vaccinations but the teachers don't have to be vaccinated.
Outdated treadmills, most will give you foot and knee injuries, very few selection of equipment, overcrowded, men only have 2 toilets, very poor ventilation, some personal trainers won't share or respect your space, most staff and GM are very friendly, good subway access, but compared to other locations this one is quite lacking.
If I could give this club less than 1 star I would. I was Booked for a consultation with one of the personal trainers then called to cancel less than 24 hours before my appointment time, with no option to reschedule. I find this club very rude and unorganized and they're always out of toilet paper! The gym space is always very crowded, and I often have to wait 5-10 minuets to use the machines. Especially the leg press machines as there's only two. Lots of equipment is lacking, such as risers, and enough dumbbells. I often have to use the "incorrect" weight as I cant find the right weight. I have also witnessed trainers making members move off the machines for their clients to use. Some of the trainers swear and eat while on the job. Before my membership expires I will be finding another gym to work out at because the atmosphere here is horrible.
Great staff and clean facilities. Love the atmosphere here, great spot to hit a quick work out anytime you can fit it into your work day!
Kingsmill is friendly, clean and a great place to work out in. Have been going there for 5 solid years with my husband, attending spin, pump, step and core training classes. The instructors are knowledgeable and sweat right along with you in class, therefore being great role models. That in itself is an exceptional motivator to move and get the heart rate up. Thank you good life, you are my fitness training family!!! Irene and Bruce Barton
Bad customer service. Charged me after I informed I’m not coming back the the club until Covid is over. The general manager refused to refund the payment that they haven’t been authorized to take. Never going back to this club!!!
Good
Agree with the last reviewer few personal trainers are selfish. They interrupt others workouts. I prefer not to be interrupt someone's workout and I don't like to be interrupted by personal trainers. It's annoying and feels like they have some sort a privilege over others. The free weights are always misplaced, so tough guys and girls are too tired to put the weights back were they belong. Be respectful of the gym and the space you share. The majority of the front desk staff are super friendly and helpful, 9 out 10 times fresh clean towels are available. There was a bad odor in the men exchange room, management quickly addressed it when it got reported. So yeah I have to say this is a well managed location. I have noticed that personal trainers don’t interrupt members workout anymore so it looks like management is reading those reviews. Thanks for who ever is making things better.
Outdated equipment. Some instructions make up the routine as they go. Someone stole my stuff out of the shower. Not impressed.
I went here for 5 years while I lived down in this area this location is really busy during the week it has an awkward layout. The staff is good the Change rooms could use a slight upgrade and maintenance but over all nothing truly bothered the experience of the gym. Between 4 and 7 it is very busy from all the business towers in the area. The underground parking is sometimes an issue at busy times, my advice is to just park far and down a few levels.
over crowded and busy almost all of the time. Hard to even walk around at any reasonable hour you would go to the gym.
Staff are very helpful, regardless of what the other reviews say. Some people just have unrealistic expectations of other humans.
Nice gym, quite clean
Great gym. Has a variety of workout equipment. Good parking and conveniently located near subway.
This is the club that is all female. Clean and no smell and it is great to exercise with only woman.
need more leg press and stand up calf raise machines....need more upper chest pec deck machines. Put machines for body parts closer together so you don't have to walk all over to work a body part.
Clean nice location with underground free validated parking.
Pros:easy access to islington subway, parking and directly use the elevator to the gym, shower curtains no doors. Cons: not to big, gets crowded most the time. there isn't full machines for all workouts.
As expected
I've been working out at this location for a while since it's close to my place and this is an ongoing issue: this gym is CROWDED at most times and stuffy, the BO smell sometimes can be overwhelming due to poor ventilation, tons of people and probably many of them not using deodorant. Beware of another issue: overcrowded classes. there used to be a sign up method for most classes and no more people were allowed when there was a limit reached...not the case anymore. Some classes like body pump or body flow are full WAY beyond the limit of the studio to the point that makes exercising very uncomfortable and somewhat dangerous when you are close to be hit by a person standing 10 cm beside or behind you, or u trip on somebody's else's mat & stuff . not to mention ignorant people that arrive 15 mins after the class has started and try to squeeze right beside u. Instructors should address since it's getting out of control.
I’m glad I did not join. I found the staff to be rude and arrogant. I was told GoodLife Fitness was not a good organization from management on down. I should have listened and not wasted my time. I tried a few locations but they all seem the same. I joined a competitor instead. This company needs to learn a lesson in being nice to customers.
I spoke with the fitness manager, Danilo Perisic. He was the most unpleasant person to speak to. I can understand as to why there is such a high turnover of personal trainers. Their manager is rude and unhelpful. I wanted to discuss as to why I was charged $400 for personal training fee and I wasn't notified about it. I worked out at the centre everyday for the past two weeks and I was not advised or told that this charge would be taken out off my account. I waited a day and still was not contacted by any staff. I had to call the head office to voice my frustration. They notified the fitness manager via email. I waited another 2 days for a call back from the fitness manager until I finally took the initiative and called him, Danilo Perisic, myself. He was fully aware of the situation. He did not help me or assist to resolve the situation. He did not listen to me, rather he began yelling at me. When I told him that he was being rude, he told me I was being rude and proceeded to yell at me some more and then hung up the phone. The issue was not resolved. My personal fitness contract states that I will be assigned another personal trainer in the event that my personal trainer has left. My personal trainer left and I decided that I would put my personal training on hold. The hold was to be taken off in June, but I was not given a specific date. I knew I was going to be charged but I was waiting to be contacted by someone at the centre to be reassigned. No one contacted me. If they weren't going to reassign me to another personal trainer I would have wanted a refund because this was a clear breach of the contract. When I discussed this with Danilo Perisic he said my only options were to be reassigned or to buy out of the contract. I had no other options. I advised him of the clear breach of contract and he said it was my responsibility to contact the centre. GoodLife, as a large company should have in place a system that states such changes, but I can give them the benefit of the doubt that they don’t. I understand that there may be upwards or 8,000 members enrolled at one time, but as a large corporation a system should be in place to organize these large transactions. Regardless, I did call previously and I got no response or call back from the fitness manager. As previously stated I had to take the initiative to resolve the issue. Even at the end of the call I still have not been reassigned and the issue has not been resolved. GoodLife as a company has good values, Danilo Perisic is a stain on the company's reputation. He makes the company feel cheap. He does not value his customers. I can assume that if he treats his customers like this his employees may be treated unfair. Conflict resolution and customer service are non existent in his skill set. I have yet to await a reply to resolve this issue. I believe that if I had not brought this up or had not noticed the charge, GoodLife would have continued to defraud me.
Equipment all needs to be updated!!! So does the cable machines! They do not have the hip thrust machine or incline squat machine with back support. Cleaners only come in once a week!!! That’s disgusting. Steam room doesn’t get steamy for at least 30 minutes! I have timed it. Only way to get slot of steam is to pour cold water on the side.. there needs to be slot of upgrades
Crowded as hell due to being located in the bottom of an office building between two other office buildings. Biggest complaint is that the men's room steam room constantly breaks down and is constantly unavailable. Every second or third time I visit this gym, the men's steam room is closed. They did a long-ass overhaul and repair on it that took it out for like 10 days, and it still breaks down as often since then.
Smells funky and the changerooms are so old and gross.
Been a member for 8 years (the old Kings mill club). Place is much better equipped and cleaner than before however, still has cleanliness issues and "all" the personal trains are full of attitude with marginal capabilities. Been to many many clubs and seen a lot - these are the worst of the worst !
Super nice to have a 24hrs gym :)
Coming to this gym , waste of time. Half of cardio machines doesnt work. They fix them, next day same thing. Maybe it's about time to buy new ones. 4 stairmasters , at least 2 always broken. Such a disappointment. Around 30 traidmills , taking space cause people dont use all of them or they dont work properly. Maybe someone should think about some changes here , starting with management.
Very small weight area. Free weights and plates are left laying on the floor everywhere and never put back to where they belong. I dont think any employee's here ever take the time to clean up/organize the gym. In addition multiple cardio machines are always out of order, at least 6 were counted to not be working today.
Pretty decent goodlife. They have good equipment and have done some updates, could use a little more floorspace, however as it is normally pretty packed. Some equipment is aging a bit but overall very good. Nice staff.
love my gym !
The gym is small, and is usually packed (I went in the mornings, and it' was still very busy). The free weights were usually free, but they were often misplaced, and for the machines you will mostly likely have to work in, or wait for it to be free. The gym has basically everything you need for a good workout, and the staff is very friendly. There are, however, some things that one should be aware of when considering whether to join the gym or not. The first thing is that the showers in the men's change-rooms are disgusting. There is a strong bacterial smell (most likely coming from the sauna), and sometimes there is a smell of urine coming from the showers. Many people pee in the showers, which is extra disgusting since the stalls are very close together. Make sure to bring a pair of flip-flops or sandals if you're a male and need to use the showers. The second thing is the unethical sales tactics used by the sales staff. The girl selling the membership to me, was very deceitful. I wanted a 4 month membership because I was working nearby, but the salesperson insisted that I should purchase the full (~$200) membership, because of a promotion, that "just happened to end today [the day I came to the gym]". I was promised things like having a month for free, and having access to everything in the gym. I got charged for the month, and had to pay extra for towel service. Every-time I tried to get in touch with someone at the gym, I was turned away with excuses such as "she'll call you back" and "she doesn't work here anymore", and when I asked to speak to the manager, the manager was conveniently "in a meeting" and promised to call me (which she never did). It was only after calling customer support that I was able to receive my refund. The location of the gym is very nice, and the staff in the front are very friendly, but beware of how busy the facility is, and the shady sales tactics used. I would recommend to support a local gym instead.
Amazing facility.
Very busy. Quite pricy but always enough equipment
The most crowded club ever, stuffy and smells bad. Very tough to find an available equipment and locker. Some staff are nice, while others are rude. It's quite understandable as there are so many people to cater to. Group classes are even worse.. you have to get there at least 45 minutes before a class and line up at the front desk to make sure you get a spot. A few minutes late, and chances are there are no spots available. I see them signing up more and more people and think, where is the space for all these people to workout. Then I quickly realize that these guys have pretty much monopolized the market and there are no other clubs around. That's the nature of business in Canada I suppose.
Had a horrible experience a while back with an employee being extremely rude to me with the reasoning being that they cannot understand my accent. Wrote to the manager and was told to cancel my membership, so I’m pretty sure no action was taken. Would never come back.
Great commercial gym with lots of equipment.
Not a bad location very nice staff however the equipment ( mostly cardio) is almost always broken. Smaller location so almost always slammed during busy hours
Decent gym but the staff at the front desk can be rude. Asked very politely to change the channel on one of the TVs but they pretty much ignored me and after I went back twice they told me they don't know how to access the tv that I wanted changed!
I live GoodLife but this location is a bit cramped. It’s also inside an office building. The parking lot of this building is confusing if you are just trying to get to the gym. You need to park underground from the back of the building. Your parking will be validated by GoodLife staff- that is good!
Garbage Location , The manager Danilo Is super rude, and The personal Trainer Emily Looks like she bought her credentials
Helpful and friendly staff, know what they're talking about. And i saw them deal with a very rude customer in a non-patronising way which was nice.
Good location nice staff. But still overcrowded for size. Best time to go is before 7 a.m. or after 10 P.M.
Fantastic!
Gets crowded because it's small but i love that its free parking! Also right beside the subway line for commuters
The gym at this location is very clean. They need more cleaning stations as the existing aren’t sufficient. You have to walk around for trash bins and sprays. They also should assign someone to stay in the weight room for a good amount of time to observe people are following instructions like masks on when moving around. Currently not happening, and people are just walking from machine to machine or to the fountain without. Not all patrons, but enough that it’s concerning.
Over crowded and small. Haunted but friendly staff. You shouldn't go there. If you do go there, you should stop
I have had a good experience so far going to this facility. The staff are friendly and the trainers are very nice. My only concerns would be the fact that the showers don't have a sit down bench for people with physical disabilities and I noticed that the one in London Ontario does. Guess it's not relative to all clubs. It should be. It can also get pretty crowded in there at peak hours and your sometimes stuck without the machine you want. Other then that? My experience thus far has been a good one.
GYM is nice, but as other poster stated personal trainers are in the way and have a poor attitude. Especially small blonde one
I have been going to Westmall and Islington locations and I am cancelling my membership for the following reasons: - They never have clean towels. - They allowed people to swim in the swimming pool with running shoes. - Washrooms are poorly maintained. - But specially, The people in the counter are very rude (specially in the Westmall location) and do not care if a member has a question or need something. I would give 0 stars, but Google forces me to give at least 1. Bye, bye... there are other better options..
Nice location
Weights never in place, Always overcrowded
Nice gym but the music drives me crazy, the promotional one. it is so repetitive I think it might negatively impact me psycollogically. It would be nice to hear any other music except the Promotional one. Please. Thank you. have an excellent day!
It's perfect, except that the entrances from the street are all closed early in the morning , having to enter through an a&w after asking of course. But if you read this you already know ????
Very busy all the time ! Creepy ppl ! Doesn’t worth it at all!
I visit this gym regularly. There’s nothing particularly outstanding about it. I consider the staff fairly lazy and unfriendly. I see them wandering and ignoring customers or hiding in the office on the weekend. There is one guy who tends to work weekend nights, he is always at the front desk. He is the most pleasant and always greets me with a smile - they need more like him.
Great gym just super busy some days.
Gym is close by home and does have free parking. Decent range of equipment and in reasonable condition. Floor space relatively limited. Men's showers are poorly maintained and sometimes feel unhygienic.Sauna room often not working at worst and mediocre functioning at best. Not the best Goodlife gym overall but fine for a straightforward workout with weights.
This is the only location of the 6 Goodlifes I go to somewhat regularly that doesn't have front-facing mirrors in the class studio (next to the change rooms). It is difficult to maintain form when you can't see what you're doing. Please get some installed ASAP!!
While the atmosphere and diversity of clientele is good, the facilities and staff are greatly lacking. The change rooms are consistently unkempt, they neglect to ensure soap, paper-towels and sanitizer are maintained, and the staff are rude. Additionally, the men’s steam room has been out of order a total of four times over the last year, with never any sense of urgency to fix it.
The best gym ever
This rating does not have anything to do with the service staff at this location. It has everything to do with the parking, location and equipment available. This location was fit in a space that was not originally built to be a gymnasium. This is not common with Goodlife locations but I have seen it before. That being said I found it difficult to transition from workout equipment to the stretching area, between sets. The cleanliness of this location was very impressive considering the black space. During my session I was able to observe the weekday morning traffic at this club which was busy. Despite being busy this location had a very friendly membership culture and there was really good turnaround with regard to equipment availability. I did find the Equipment variety lacking. As mentioned before, the staff was 5 stars! They where very polite and helpful when I inquired about the parking protocol.
Wrong location. My bad.
Very average gym at best. Staff is friendly. I have been to 6-8 other Goodlife's in the last 6 months. For some reason this is the only one that consistently runs out of towels. Men's showers are quite stinky and mouldy. I go only for the location and parking. Seems to be the worst managed Goodlife but it's close to me.
This location has terrible customer service. The ladies that work at this location have a mean attitude and God forbid they smile...I have a corporate plan and have been a member with goodlife fitness for 4 years now. I have signed up everyone in my family and I have had friends move from iron fitness to good life fitness based on my suggestions. I have been at various locations of Goodlife including but not limited to the Vaughan, yonge and eglinton, Mt pleasant and eglinton, dufferin and Eglinton, scarbrough ( Kennedy location) and so on. I have experienced nothing but great customer service at these locations. However, this particular location leaves so much to be desired. You have to re-train your staff and teach them about the basics of customer service. When I go at a gym I want to be greeted with a smile and want to feel welcome especially after a hard day at work. Meanwhile I have experienced the complete opposite here with the female employees at this location. They make you feel like a burden every time you ask something. In addition, the gym gets so busy and has limited amount of equipment. You end up spending so much time waiting around to use the equipment. Their towels are yellow and look unwashed as I have seen makeup stains on them. When I have given the towel back and requested a cleaner towel, I was met with disdain. Mind you, I have unlimited towel service.... I will never come back to this location after giving a try for 3 days.
Overly crowded. There are times in the evening when there isn't a single machine available. Change rooms are consistently filthy. Would only recommend if you don't have another fitness option.
Can be busy at time, but overall a nice facility.
Very very busy..
I just had the worst experience talking to Customer Service representatives - they don't care, they know they're a giant in this business, so they don't care about their customers. HUGE RIP OFF. I am cancelling my membership and other 3 family memberships. I strongly suggest to think twice before signing ANYTHING AT ALL with them! Horrible service, stinky yoga mats that they won't replace - the most expensive gym in the city and totally not worth it.
Very bad experience With this gym . Got my Nike shoes, gym belt , gloves stolen ,perfume . Someone broke the lock and stole all the things from locker . Management shows cold behaviour when you ask them anything . I Wouldn’t recommend anyone to join here .
I usually go at night and overnight staff is super nice specially a tiny girl with specs she usually work on weekends I don't remember her name but she is super helpful and knows how to deal with customers. She keeps club super clean and organised as she is always sanitizing and putting weights away. All over experienced with club is super nice.
Pick your times If you can.
One of the more modern GoodLife locations. Spacious and clean locker room. Spacious free weights area. The only downside is the limited stretching area.
I used to have a lot of respect for GoodLife. Unfortunately, I don't anymore and I will never return to them or refer their gym to anybody. I will always have negative things to say about this place. This place has full knowledge and even acknowledged that they are aware that someone on my plan hasn't been to the gym since the start of Covid. Because this person lives in a region where the gyms were opened, they charged them for all those months, and refuse to waive it, and insist on their payment. That is theft in my opinion getting paid for services that were never rendered. I wish this place would offer a donation tax receipt for the free money they gained for nothing. I get GoodLife took a major hit during the pandemic, but that is not our problem and they have burned this bridge with me. Their communication from the start of the pandemic until now has been very poor and it feels like GoodLife and I am extremely disappointed in GoodLife.
I always enjoy working out at this gym, this gym has every piece of equipment you could ask for. The front desk staff is always welcoming and able to answer any questions I may have. What I don't enjoy about the gym is the personal training staff. While they are off shift and enjoying their own workouts they workout in the personal training area and blast their personal music on a bluetooth speaker, loud enough to ear throughout the free weight equipment area. I think this is very unprofessional because it's disturbing to the other people in the gym. The personal trainers treat the gym like it's their own and I think they should be considerate to everyone else. All I would ask is to get them to wear headphones like everyone else that uses the gym as to not disturb anyone else.
The staff I've dealt with are all lovely and the childminding staff are all fantastic - they recognize my son and keep him busy with activities. The gym does get busy at peak times, like every other gym I've ever been to, but I've never had a problem with overcrowding. The equipment is good and well-maintained. Free and easy parking and a good location. It is also worth noting that they are going through expansion so the place will be bigger.
Quick place to workout at YYZ
a very very dirty and disgusting gym. I don't know how people even go there if I could give 0 stars I would.
Gym to small of a gym for people that a registered not enough machines
Too many people and terrible parking. I think the club is pretty decent. The members are gross tho.
Nice environment. Helpful and friendly staff. Fully equipped with all exercising machines. Lots of workout programs going on whole week. Plus open 24 hours. Convenient location.
Great location does get incredibly busy sometimes, but ever since the renovations finished a few years back its a lot better and more acommodating to the clientele. See you soon. V. M.
Staff try and push you to buy a member ship aggressively gets very annoying
Sauna broken all time time with little to no effort to fix the issue. At one point in January it was down for 2+months.
