Here you will be able to see all the opinions of real people who are consuming the services of GoodLife Fitness Edmonton Brewery District (Gym) in Edmonton area (Canada).
Nowadays the firm receives a rating of 4.2 stars out of 5 and that score is based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is quite good, and it's founded on a large number of opinions, so we can say that the score is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to give their score when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Gym is included in the category of Gym.
The quality of this gym speaks for itself. The staff allow for an "at home" atmosphere. The other members connect with eachother & encourage eachother to reach their fitness goals. Definitely would recommend to a friend.
Always a positive environment. Great staff and awesome gym equipment. Proud to call this place my home gym.
My experience with the club started before having a membership with Tony getting me all the information I needed before singing up and that experience has only gotten better with Tony's continued excellence in customer service. The gym has lots of open space and all the equipment you could ever ask for. During these trying times with covid, they have maintained a high standard of cleanliness and are doing their best to keep everyone safe. A great place with great people. Thanks!
I only come here to use the studio. It's nice and big and has huge floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Brewery parking lot. The natural light is a nice feature at this Goodlife. There's also lots of options for parking including underground.
Omar is very knowledgeable. He cares about his clients and pushes you to be the best you. Highly recommend!
Actual facility is nice. HOWEVER, no one is wearing masks! None of the employees are enforcing that people are wearing masks! Sure, "mandatory unless exercising", but I see people not wearing masks in the locker rooms, in the hallways, etc. This is ridiculous! And half the members don't wipe down their equipment. They also got rid of the time period between the booked gym time and the open gym time, so there's no sanitization going on between the time lots I guess? With the recent spike in cases in Edmonton, you would think they would be more cautious. How do you expect to stay open if people are going to keep ignoring the rules or enforcing them! Please, I'd like to see a change in management attitudes. I know it's easy to get complacent but we all have a duty to make sure everyone can stay safe and healthy.
Cleanest gym I've been to. Maybe busy right after business hours so try going a little earlier.
I personally like the cleanliness here. The place was good enough and the staff was really cooperative. The price they charged was moderate. Nice gym to start your workout
When Brewery Goodlife opened in 2016 I decided to start a 3 times a week fitness regime and try to keep at it. Much credit has to go to Logan (my personal trainer) and Goodlife in general for making the workouts and the facilities so enjoyable to use that I just keep on wanting to go back for the next one and the next one... and so it goes. My previous fitness efforts were never this long-lasting or effective. And for anyone over 65 who may think that this is "for younger people" only, I'm in that category so don't worry, you can go and feel right at home and have exercises that are just right for your needs, etc. etc.
No wifi and they take forever to repair machines, also could have more weights. However, underground parking and hot yoga. It is a huge and new facility but also very busy.
Fantastic gym, there is so much equipment there you never have to worry about waiting for anything. It's really big so even when it's busy it's not packed. The classes and staff are also awesome! Well worth it.
Just not a fan of the layout, and it is always extremely busy. I thought maybe coming in as early as 5 AM would help a bit, but its just a popular and central location for a lot of people. Always expect it to be busy and possibly waiting to use a lot of machines if you plan on going right after work! Staff are nice though, and i like that there is a hot and wet sauna. Really wish they had tanning at this location.
great facility, lots of room, nice equipment!
Great gym. However in the evenings the gym is very busy, and the change rooms are not kept cleaned during the busy hours. Change rooms are a little small, which can make it difficult to find a locker in the evenings.
The new Brewery District gym is a beautiful place full of young, fit people. This location has everything you could want in a gym, including heated underground parking. Naturally, it's a very busy place, but even at peak times you can get on a machine pretty quickly. Staff are fairly knowledgeable and helpful. Gym has perks like a sauna and steam room, towel service, and 3 massage chairs at the front which are a nice addition! There's also a fake grass track by the windows for plyometric and sled push. My only complaints are: a. the water is exteemely cold coming out of the fountains and b. The overhead speakers seem to play the same song or "proprietary good life rift" every 7 to 10 minutes. It'll make you regret leaving your headphones at home. I haven't been to any of the classes here yet but they do have a good variety. A great addition to the downtown area!
I d like them to open 24 7 !
Perhaps it's unfair for me to give it such a low rating because I really love the venue and most of the staff I actually drive out of my way to go to this location. I'm forced to write a review out of frustration as I've left a couple messages for the manager to contact me and I've gotten no response. They have hot yoga studio space which is tucked away, quiet, private and warm. Yet they host regular yoga classes in the diatracting & freezing aerobics space. The air conditioning stays on and the large bright windows kill the relaxing yoga experience. Without even turning on lights or heat in the other yoga room just in case cost is a factor would be so much warmer, peaceful, and less likely to cause injury doing these poses in a cold room. It's too bad they don't use the resources they have more. I shouldn't have to wear a sweater and socks in yoga.
Updated Review 2: - Still definitely my favorite gym. No major complaints, just small little fixes. - Many of the treadmills no longer have functioning TV's in them (With NFL and NHL starting, these would be nice to have) - Locker rooms still need more attention on cleans. People haven't figured out the towel bin. An air freshener would be nice too. -Would be nice to see this location get a few more amenities and services like some of the other Goodlife locations Updated Review 1: - Gym has extended its hours which is a nice change. - Isaac is an all-star, he's constantly keeping the mens change room clean and the front desk attended. Excellent member service. - Mens room is a constant battle between B.O. and Axe Body Spray... The gym needs to just go for something like Lemongrass as an air freshener. - Steam room needs a spot cleaning throughout the day. The floor becomes a bit dirty and can begin to smell. - Nice addition of a few new classes. - Yoga Class is very good. One of the better ones I've been to in my 3 years of practice. Original Review: ************** Excellent Gym, location and heated underground parking. Staff is super friendly and helpful for the most part. It does get a little bit too busy between 5-8 PM on weekdays(it can be hard to find a locker). As this location is super popular it would be nice to see this gym expand its hours (to 10 PM instead of 8 PM on select days) to spread the rush out a little more. Other improvements needed are: - Some general maintenance/regular cleaning throughout the day (the men's lavatory hasn't been working 100% as of late and its starting to smell/get backed up). - Men's Sauna could be slightly hotter. - Men's steam room floor could use an interval clean throughout the day (floor gets full of lint from feet/socks) - TV's in a few of the cardio machines have ceased to work. Nice to have's: With it's popularity downtown it would be awesome to see this location take up the neighboring open lease and add a Squash and Tanning facility. Again I really like this gym and its damn near close to perfect! Thanks Goodlife Team!
This place does not offer 24*7 access to gym. They won't open later than 10pm on Friday's and 7am till 8pm on Sat, Sun. That's not how a gym should be. They're not considering the people who work on weekends and need late access to gym. Not worth it. People who bike can't travel to far 24*7 gyms. I don't think the management is considering this issue anytime.
Clean and big just a little too busy sometimes
I booked seven personal training sessions with GoodLife Brewery District, and was fortunate to have Curtis as my trainer. Curtis is extremely kind, motivating and professional. He is knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition, and makes workout sessions challenging, but fun! These sessions were just what I needed to take my fitness journey to the next level. Curtis explains exercises clearly, helps you improve form and sets out realistic goals to build strength and stamina, as well as your confidence. No matter if you’re a beginner at the gym, or have been at it for a while, I highly recommend taking part in these sessions. Thank you so much, Curtis!
Great staff. Super helpful. My favourites are Isaac and Omar. It’s too bad gyms got shut down. I feel like they were doing everything they could to make it a safe experience.
Great gym to workout at.... I trained with Omar Ali as he has helped me reach my goals in building my butt and legs where I neglected them . He truly always makes time to answer questions and fit you in so I go home feeling satisfied with my workouts . I would recommend Omar to anyone who wishes to reach their goals quickly . Omar's physical appearance and his knowledge shows that he knows what he's talking about .
good gym for my morning cardio, but lots of rude gym-goers who think they run the place.
It's got everything one would need for a decent workout. It's clean, well equipped and feels like a friendly atmosphere. Opening with the unveiling of the Brewery district I didn't expect less.
Deeyana Baydala is a total thumbs down. Does not know what she is doing. Felt worse after seeing her.
Best gym in the city!
Good location, easy to access from downtown , clean and nice staff.
I've been going to this gym for a couple years now and overall I really like it. The staff is always really friendly and professional. However a con is that anytime a piece of equipment/machine/water fountain/literally anything breaks, it can take them a ridiculously long time to fix it. Also, even with covid, a lot of the time there's still people clustered at the front desk, it's not the training staff it's usually just other staff members. Speaking of the training staff, I've been training with Omar Ali for a couple of years now and he's seriously really great. He's super encouraging, friendly, professional, and he's great to work with. And he seems like someone who genuinely cares about his clients and their success, not just because he wants himself to look good, but because he wants them to be happy and improve. So yeah, overall a solid gym at a really nice location with some great staff.
It's pretty nice. It's big and it doesn't get too busy. Parking is available underground when it gets full.
Great gym. Super nice staff. A bit busy at peak hours. But hey its the nicest gym downtown.
If you want to experience an over crowded gym that you have to wait for weights and machines, this gym is for you. Also I'm pretty convinced that they use a potato for their Wifi router.
Awful staff. Not helpful at all when called called about my accounts. Wouldn’t direct me to a manager or someone who could help me resolve the issue.
Best place ever people are nice I feel like it's a home away from home
Clean, great selection of equipment. Prolly one of the nicest gyms in the city. Great underground parking.
Had to change to one star after experiencing the way they are handling covid. Don't bother showing up if you didn't make a booking, even if there are 15 open slots available you'll have to wait 25% of the gym sesh before they let you in lol
Definitely best of the goodlife location in Edmonton, good crowd and even better trainers. Special mention about personal trainer Omar Ali, some days its hard to train, but he keeps you moving. He is very personable and knowledgeable. His cheerful attitude makes the training time go quickly. I am pleased with my progress and feel assured that with his continued training and encouragement I would continue getting good results and attain my goal. It also helps that he's pretty popular among the clients and trainers in this location.
The gym is usually pretty busy, but doesn't feel like that since it's so big. There's an area for cross fit, TRX and lots of cardio equipment. Their selection of group training isn't as accomodating as the other Goodlifes so far (mainly daytime, but we will see what happens in the future). My only grievance is sometimes the showers are out of soap, and if you go for an early morning workout, you can hear the music from the spin class in the ladies shower. Overall, not many douchebags and it's clean and safe.
Big windows, lots of natural light. Big gym but not too big. I liked it.
Love this location. I just wish they made the hours more convenient. 24 hours only on Wednesday and Thursday? Would much prefer weekend 24 hour times.
I just called them to see if they are open. Friendly person answered the phone, advised that they will likely be open the first week of November.
Best gym and nice trainers in Edmonton
Great place but too busy after work, good luck getting a machine or really anything.
Signed up for this gym about a month ago on a one year contract to which I also added on 3 one-hour sessions with a personal trainer for $150. In total it was about 4 sessions with seeing a trainer as the first time didn't count because it was a sit down consultation. My first actual training day, my trainer let me try out Goodlife's 20 minute fit fix (machines you can do if you're crunched on time). Second time I met with my trainer it was another sit down session to which he talked to me about extending personal training sessions. The prices for personal training are EXTREMELY high - ranging from $1000/month which was 3x a week ($500 bi weekly) to $600/month for 2x a week ($300 bi weekly). I felt pressured into buying into the personal training sessions and the next day I called the gym around 9:30AM asking to cancel the PT contract. The receptionist informed me that i'd have to talk to the Fitness manager in order to cancel it. I left a message with the receptionist and waited the entire day with no call back. So I drive all the way to the gym after work to cancel and was told the manager left for the day. I called again the next day asking to speak to the manager to cancel and also to make sure I wouldn't be charged a cancellation fee (the contract is very vague and says to "ask staff for details"). The receptionist told me that she wasn't sure if there would be a cancellation fee and that the manager would not be in until Monday around 10AM. I called again on Monday asking for the manager and I was told he was in a meeting and to call back within 15 minutes. I call again and was told he was still in a meeting so I leave ANOTHER message with the receptionist. Within a few hours of not hearing from anyone I call the gym AGAIN to speak with the receptionist. He told me that he'd take the message and make sure someone calls me back asap as he could tell I was very upset. I finally get a call from my trainer who asked me why I wanted to cancel and told me that he'd get the manager to call me. Around 5PM the manager FINALLY calls me back and tells me to meet him tomorrow at 6PM as he will be training someone until 5:30PM. I come in the next day 10 minutes before 6PM and tell the reception that I'm meeting the manager to cancel my PT. I wait for 15 minutes before I ask the reception where the manager is - they told me that the manager is training someone until 6:30!!! I was very upset as NO ONE told me this new information. The reception told me that there must have been some miscommunication and that I could either wait or they can leave another message with him. I decided to wait. When I finally met the manager he did not even apologize for making me wait - I had to tell him that I waited for more than half an hour for him. He was very insincere about his apology...which irritated me as I wasted so much time trying to get a hold of him and now waiting for him to actually show up on time which is very unprofessional!! A few days later I finally cancelled my entire membership as I was done dealing with the company and I did not want to give them anymore of my money. Waste of time, waste of money (I spent $150 for PT and was on the floor with my trainer ONCE as well as a $99 cancellation fee for my membership). I would not recommend any of my friends/family to go here. Hopefully this review will give others a chance to reconsider going to this gym. Worst experience with a gym ever!!!!!
I absolutely love this facility.i get motivated each day to workout. The place is clean, great staff and updated workout equipments....
Lots of equipment. I know it's incredibly busy in the evenings, I go in the mornings before work and I never have any trouble finding equipment. Membership can be expensive but certain companies get discounts on that. Sauna is a nice touch.
9 to 12pm best time for work out
I tried this place for a day and was shocked by the bully culture there... one guy whose buddy is one of the gym staff tried to bully us off a bench while cursing and throwing weights around.. his buddy who works at the gym came to tell us to "shut it" if we wanna stay while his buddy was smiling... we put a complaint in and they didn't bother even looking into it (it's been almost a month since). Long story short, I signed up with another gym.. so should you, if you dont wanna run into a similar situation?!
More run down since last year but excellent location
Went here for over a year and the experience was fantastic all round, the staff are all really nice and I had help with my body goals thanks to Logan one of the personal trainers there. He was clear on instructions for form and really pushed you on getting those sets done. The guy is hilarious and great to have a conversation with. Felt more like a gym partner than a trainer, really made the time worth it every time.
Knowledgeable staff. Nice people. Location is interesting as well.
This is probably my favourite gym for many reasons. I love the location (Brewers District), they have top quality equipment, the gym and change rooms are always clean. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The gym overall motivates me and delivers the best atmosphere for training.
The space is great. Large, spacious, Lots of equipment. But the lack if Wi-Fi is a major let down, and the locker rooms can be very difficult to find a locker in during peak hours.
great place only downside is they are slow to fix stuff. classes are great
Awesome gym to work out and friendly staff
Lots of selection and classes are included in membership
I love this place, I have being going for 3 years now, stuff is very friendly and helpful, It seriously feels like my second home i love it. Couldn't ask for a better gym.
Is a great place and the steam place is one of the best in Edmonton.
I love this gym and I have been going here for 3 years but lately the customer service reps are absolutely horrendous. I emailed the entire story but today I was threatened to have my membership canceled for having my mask off while trying to control a asthma attack. Two attacks to be exact and on my way out she proceed to tell me how is she supposed to know? I’m sorry I do have to show you my inhaler or tattooo it on my forhead. Unbelievable. The pandemic is hostile towards people with these problems as is, this employee is proof of it. I don’t know what is going on but bring back the good employeeeeeessss
I wanted to take the time to give a big shout out to my trainer Omar Ali! I can't say enough about this guy! He is an incredibly motivating trainer who isn't afraid to push his clients to reach their goals but makes it fun and enjoyable in a way that makes you look forward to each and every session no matter how sore you may be two days later! His flexibility in working with ever changing schedules as well as great sense of humour and knowledge base truly make him an absolute asset to the GoodLife team at Brewery District! Keep up the great work Omar!
Everything is great except it is not 24 hours! I like going to the gym at 6am on the weekends and it does not open to 7:00am. It also closes SUPER early on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I do like working out around 8:00 in the evening on the weekends but I have to go to Calgary Trail because it is 24/7 if i want to do so.
Gym is overall really good but the layout doesn't work that well for me, no good free weight area that isn't crammed. Also really wish they were open until later than 8pm on Saturday and Sunday!
Cody is probably the worst employee there. Very unkind, unwelcoming, should rip a page out of some of the other trainers books. Seen many good reviews on other trainers. Id say it's an easy fix though, maybe smile a little more, actually say hi back, when other people say hi to him. I said hi to him and he acted as though he was too good to say hi back. Theres a really happy blonde girl though, super bubbly and kind. Maybe that girl should coach him, cause im not sure if he just has rbf, or just doesn't like coming to work, but he should put that energy out on other people when their trying to change their life.
A gym with a lot of equipment in a nice large space.
One of the nicest Good Life gyms in Edmonton.
Lewis is an awesome trainer!
Excellent facility????
The place is spacious, clean, and overcrowded. The concern I have is that they have only two leg press machines, one leg extension, and one leg curl machines! There is always line up, or you just have to come up.with some alternative yourself using weights, steps etc. When it's leg training day i either come very early in the morning or late in the evening. Very inconvenient. These are basic machines and the most popular ones. Such big gym should have more of the basic equipment. That's what I really dont like about this gym.
This is one of my favourite gyms in Edmonton. There is a lot of equipment and everything is quite new. But what stood out for me was the customer service from Tony, i can honestly say he's given me one of the best customer service experiences in any industry. I highly recommend going to him if you're interested in joining. I've been at Goodlife for over a year now and by far he's helped me the most. Keep up the excellent service.
Love the gym and location, but the locker situation has gotten progressively worse over time. Good luck finding one in peak hours... Looking at other gyms now as I'm tired of wasting time just waiting for a locker
I love this place! Omar Ali was amazing! He walked me through the whole gym and made sure that I knew everything that I needed to. He has incredible knowledge of the human body and fitness in general. He was very helpful with not only my training but my diet and my lifestyle as well. It has been amazing for my mental health. I wish Goodlife hired more employees like Omar!! 10/10 Would recommend!
Friendly staff, well maintained equipment. Plenty of room and people of all fitness levels.
Great facility. Only complaint is that it takes too long to fix items. The water cooler handle has been broken for over two weeks now and it took over a month to fix one clock.
Great facility, just wish it was opened later on the weekends or actually 24/7.
Very very nice gym, but looks aren't everything, no deadlift platforms just these weird "dampeners" that interfere with your lift, no heavy dumbbells (only go to 100 pounds ????) and fewer plate loaded machines than I would like to have access too although there are many cable machines. The 30 day ban for "dropping" weights is ridiculous and unsafe as well. Everyone who works there is super nice although no one in management takes any requests or suggestions seriously or seems to want to improve the gym based on member feedback at all and what your bassically signing up to is an as is what you see is what you get cookie cutter commercial gym. The music they play in there is absolutely unberable it drives me absolutely crazy. The worst thing though is that they arent actually open 24 hours so on mondays I have to drive all the way to clairview in order to go to the gym not only is this extremely inconvinient but they won't offset what you pay, you pay for 168 hours of gym access and only get 139 and spend an extra 10$ a month in gas to drive to the ones that are actually open. But it's very nice looking and clean and everyone is pretty cool and its a decent enviroment (other than the terrible music and commercials piercing through your brain all the time)
The classes are so awesome! Such great instructions. Definitely check out Nicole's spin class, Sara's yoga and both barre instructions classes! Such a great workout. Facility is really clean and full of new equipment and everything you need.
I went here for a week as I was in between gyms and if you're a lifter, don't go here. As they are above retail spaces (seriously, who thought that would be a good idea?) they don't allow weight dropping, which is a risk when lifting anything heavy.
Close to where I live and great staff!
Normally i go to the St. Albert location as it's close to home. I was trying this one as it's closer to work. First, the the cardio equipment need some serious love. Of the 7 bikes that they have there, 4 are missing straps and at least two are clunky when pedaling. The towels are so thin you can see through them. The sign says they are 24 hours, but then there is another stating that they close at 8 on the weekends. So, not really 24 hours. The staff, not great. Machines are great, if you like lines waits, and the ones with no waits are broken. And it's not 24 hours.
REALLY nice facility. Hands down.. gotta give it to GoodLife for attempting to be progressive. However you can't drop their bumper plates, making their entire attempt at creating a crossfit/ Olympic weightlifting section kind of useless. Additionally, during peak times, this place is an absolute zoo. It's great to see that many people into fitness, but it's very hard to find equipment between 5-7pm.
Great but their weekend hours suck
Amazing location...clean, friendly staff, affordable and never over crowded!
Best Gym In Edmonton! The management and staff are fantastic to deal with and it's a clean.
Been coming to this location since April and they tell me today I have to pay extra for towel service. Not once was I informed of this when I signed up, nor the multiple times I've been given a towel not aware of this special membership add on. Poor customer service on the individuals' who didn't inform me of this out of all the times they've given me one for nothing.
Beautiful facility, friendly staff and awesome group class offerings.
Thank you to Chole the Manager for all of your help. You truly made my experience at Goodlife Brewery District so great! ❤ I appriciate you and your team.
My favourite Goodlife in Edmonton for sure. Staff is always very friendly, it is very large and spacious. with a good amount of equipment. It does not have tanning but that's not a huge deal at all. Underground parking is a serious bonus during the winter months.
I am fairly satisfied with this gym, but I should say that I usually go at non-peak hours, so I'm not sure what its like at busy times. I wish they had a hip thrust machine and it is a little bit on the expensive side.
Love this gym - I echo my 3 year old daughters words "This is my favourite place!" ❤
I love this gym. It has everything I want (except for a pool ha ha). It is well maintained and lots of sun shining in through the windows. It is super busy so you can't really do what you want to do most of the time, but that gives opportunity to learning alternatives.
Love brewery district GoodLife! Friendly staff and clean facilities. Have heard of some theft so please watch your belongings.
Great place to work out! Great equipment and very friendly knowledgeable staff.
It is clean, air conditions that works and equipments are well maintained.
It's always great to work out here. Very friendly staff who are always willing to make sure you are comfortable and have fun while working out!
Great location, helpful staff, good vibe, never at a loss to find some type of exercise. Monthly fee is a bit excessive
excellent workout facility. tons of machines and very clean.
No wifi. Otherwise great gym. Busy but good.
Bad start so far. They had my incorrect email so I had to wait until I noticed I was being charged on my bank statement for the 2 memberships for the last 3 weeks. When I finally did get to go, I got to find out their lockers only take the $5 pad locks that can be pried open with a $2 screwdriver. Been paying for almost a month now and wasted $45 on quality locks and still can't attend anything yet.
Not open yet, I guess buddy guy bro on the other review here couldn't break his fear of real human contact through voice and use the keypad feature of his digital media device and call the number (only 2 keystrokes will make the call from this Google listing, touch the number then touch send...) where a nice gent will say "the gym opens on Oct 28". Figure it out.
I only wish I was in better shape so I didn't feel like such a fat little turd around all the really really fit people here. Update: well, its been a few months since my initial review and this gym has just become busier and busier. Way too crowded for me, I'll be cancelling my membership.
GoodLife Fitness is my best to favourite place where I work out and meet people and get fit
Just joined the gym. Really good facility and you will have underground parking for free.
Throughout the plandemic, I was grateful to see that I was not charged my membership fee for the times the gyms were mandated to close. However, when inquiring with GoodLife around why despite amenities closing down (towel service, showers, sauna, steam room, etc) my membership rate stayed the same, this was the response I received from “Nicole GLH-1759”: “This pandemic was very sudden for everyone, customers and businesses, and we can assure you we are doing our very best at accommodating our Members and following all guidelines set out by the Government and Public Health Agency. In order to run a successful Club at this time, we will not be adjusting our prices.” What?! You bet it was hard for all of us. I worked three jobs just to make ends meet. And then to have my gym turn around and tell me that on the backs on their clients they need to remain successful. That’s not cool!! It’s sad because this gym is on commute for me to and from work and makes the most sense. But I feel, unless something changes, I’ll be looking for another gym to pay my dues to.
I love coming to this gym. They make you feel like family. I trained with Logan. He helped me more then i can ever thank him.. not only did he make me killer workouts.. he always found the time to answer any health related question. And reached out to me on his own time.. to check in with my diet. I can definitely say that we have built a wonderful friendship on strength, health and trust.. I would recommend his services to anyone.. and I do!! Keep up the good work Logan.
Great gym, Workout equipment is great as well, free parking, busy but not crowded; this gym is also a great way to meet people; everyone is nice. I haven't personally used a trainer but I see and hear only great things about their programs. If you want to clear your mind go for a workout here, it works like a charm; if you want to look better, call and ask For Omar Ali; he'll get you in the shape you want to be in.
The only special thing about this place are the massage chairs, and they are directly under pot lights brighter than the sun. Get a rec pass instead.
Nice gym nice location and friendly staff
Full on fitness with first class sauna, steam, equipment, tons of staff
MY 1 ONLY PLAYGROUND 24h????????
Lots of different equipment to cater to myriad fitness styles.
The underground parking and 24hrs is the best part of this place. The machines are up to date and plenty of them to go around. Overall it's a clean enough gym.
I've never been much of a gym person, but this location I find is well laid out and the staff has all been friendly and approachable. I started with personal training in about 2018 to try and find an approach and routine that I could follow myself. After a break from training, I started with Omar Ali in 2019 and am very happy with the experience! He's incredibly accommodating and flexible with his clients schedules, and really goes out of his way to get to know his clients. I was really impressed with how quickly he changed up the routine and adapted it to something that was more suited to me and my personal fitness goal, and was quite quick to see some improvement. This location and the training was worth the commute even after a move that made it about an hour out of my way. Throughout the pandemic I haven't been able to get back into the gym or resume training, but am honestly looking forward to it again.
One of the nicest locations in the city! However, I wish that they would have WiFi like the South Park location.
I've been a member at goodlife for over 5 years, across the country so it really pains me to write this. I've always enjoyed working out at their clubs but the handling of customer service during COVID has left a bad taste in my mouth. Good luck trying to get through to their membership service team over the phone because they are always "busy". I've tried multiple times a day for weeks and never been able to get ahold of anyone. I then took my concern to their member email, to which I received a very generic and honestly insulting email not actually acknowledging any of my issues. When I replied to the email clarifying that my issue still isn't resolved I never got a response. I've now been charged over $70 for a membership that was frozen, and double charged on top of that. I feel bad cancelling for good but at this point ill be going to my bank to see if they can do anything because Goodlife has been honestly rude. EDIT: after about 3 weeks of trying to get someone to rectify this I have been told I will receive a full refund for my charges. I understand they have a lot of customer service inquires piling up so I can see why it took so long. Overall I will return one day now that the situation has been appropriately handled. Changing my review from 2 stars to 4 stars :)
Worked with Omar Ali, he is very committed to improving all his clients fitness level no matter where you are starting from from scratch or you are already a fit person! Omar also walks the walk!
The only thing they do a good job of maintaining is their “Maintenance in Progress” labels. Problem is... maintenance is NOT in progress. Update 11/9/2017: At least once a week, there is no soap in the men’s washroom. That’s right, ladies, not a single guy in the gym has washed his hands on any given day. Not to mention almost as often there are several empty paper towel dispensers throughout the gym. There are several advertisements around the gym looking to hire trainers, and this is one of the busiest gyms in the city- you’d think they could afford to hire maintenance staff, but alas, this isn’t a priority for management.
Awsome gym
Great facility. Only downside- I wish they had stair climbers(steppers). I am not a fan of elliptical type machine (which there is an abundance of). I was super excited to have a membership at GL in hopes that all locations offered stair steppers, so far only 2 of the locations I have been to do. Aside from that, the facility is gorgeous, staff has been decently nice too which is always nice and definitely appreciated.....and they have a functioning steam room which is a huge bonus.
I would equate the customer service here with a truck stop bathroom on a hot summer day. (Insert poop emoji) you’d be better off taking your money and throwing it out of a moving vehicle because at least you’d get some feed back from random people on the street. And to Damon and his piss poor attitude of “I’m new, you need to relax” I’m new at my job too. I don’t tell disgruntled patrons to relax.
This facility is great, the staff and trainers are super friendly and informative. The change rooms, showers and workout floor are cleaned on a regular basis. My only problem is the lack of weekend night time hours. On my night time rotations, I'd love to be able to go the gym at 2 am when I have a weekend off.
The worst customer service experience with the staffs here
I like to stay in shape but won't be going here. Every time I take my dog to the Pet Smart below this business there's lots of noise coming from above where the man-boys are dropping their free weights on the floor with a big thud. It freaks out the pets in the store and apparently GoodLife has been asked to be a good neighbour but are obviously not trying. I can get a better workout without the drudgery of a gym anyway.
Best gym I've ever been too. Clean, high quality equipment, plenty of space even at peak times.
It’s a great gym in itself. Nice layout and clean bathrooms. Want to cancel a membership? Goodluck! might take you several tries to get the message across.
Perhaps every one of us has wondered why our training progress has been plateau, or how we achieve that dream physique that we always dreamt of. If these words resonate with you, I would say your best solution is to hire a coach. When it comes to fitness coaching, Mr. Chris Krulicki is one of the best in the business. Chris will pay attention to the smallest detail of your fitness program. Let's say you want to improve your squatting technique: Chris can point out where to position your spine to maximize results while avoiding injuries. Chris will be your best workout partner that you will ever have: He will motivate you to push through that last rep. He will put more effort into your workout than even his own. If you want to try out some new ideas, he will not say no to you. One last thing, this location is the biggest Goodlife facility in Edmonton, and it is the only one that has a hot yoga studio. Thank you for reading.
Aleays great staff and a great atomsphere
A little pushy on the promotions, but a very solid gym. I go regularly.
I have been going to this GoodLife for a few months now and find the sales staff and front desk staff very friendly! I have been getting personal training from Curtis which has been amazing! He definitely pushes me harder than I would push myself. It's been rewarding seeing how I've gotten stronger with his help. He's also very personable and fun which makes the hour go by very quickly! Thanks Curtis!!
I give them 5 stars, great staff and fun atmosphere.
I enjoyed coming to this GoodLife. Everything does feel closer together when your working out then other GoodLife's, but the setup is appealing and enjoyable. The locker room is amazing, it has a very modern feel to it.
This gym is closed more often than open. Like a part time bakery. And when it is open it's too crowded, loud, and obnoxious to enjoy. Did you pay for towel service ... ? Good luck, there isn't anyone at the desk to give you a towel typically. I would suggest saving your money and time (it's also the most expensive gyms in the neighbourhood)
Great location. Clean facilities. Membership is nation wide
Excellent customer service, all staff are really nice! I love going here to weightlift and go to hot yoga. I recommend this gym.
I love Goodlife
Great Location! Great Facility!
The front staff are not polite. They don’t welcome you, they ignore you and just chat with each other. I am a female member and I like coming to a gym with good vibes. I have tried smiling and saying hello; however, I just got stared back at rudely. The goodlife staff at Clareview are so nice. They smile and say hello and goodbye when you leave :)! Such a simple gesture, yet it makes the world of difference after a while.
Great gym, good people! Omar Ali was very help full and helped me with my workouts and motivated me to keep coming to this gym!!
Always clean really nice staff it's going to be my gym for a long time
I started at Goodlife Brewery District shortly after moving to Edmonton and I initially wanted a personal trainer just to teach me the fundamentals. I hired Curtis, and was so impressed with the results he helped me achieve in a short time that I decided to upgrade to a personalized program. He's knowledgeable and honest. I would definitely recommend Curtis if you're looking for a personal trainer.
Great location and very clean. I come here four times a week
Nice gym but equipment is often missing or broken and the stretching mats are always very dirty. After stretching my pants are often covered in dirt, skin, dust, etc. from using the mats. I have brought this to their attention a few times but they don’t seem to care ????????♀️
Can't give 5 stars for Goodlife, the national company; I was stuck in a loop of a phone service line too busy, struggling to speak to a human about some billing issues. This club, however, is fantastic all thanks to their great employees. The care in cleanliness and cheerful greetings as you enter definitely make you feel part of the fitness community. Special thanks to Chloe who not only was my first contact after failing to reach national, but also provided some alternative solutions and ultimately resolved the biggest issue I had. Stellar work!
Would love if the gym was open past 8 PM on weekends, or even 24 hours all the time..! Not everyone works 9-5 or weekends off. :)
Great layout, lots of equipment, lots of different equipment, and ample space between machines
A great place to pick up heavy things and set them back down again. If you go here multiple times a week and pick things up, you should be able to eventually pick up even heavier things. I hope one day I can lower this review to four stars because they won't have heavy enough things to pick up. Until then, five stars for lots of heavy things. Also, they have light things, not sure what those are used for.
Awesome new facility, tons of equipment, even at prime time I've never had to wait for a bench or machine. Staff are super friendly too. Only *complaint* would be that they have this amazing TV set up in the free weight area yet, never play local sports (Oilers, specifically) on it. I'm guessing a ton of people would appreciate being able to glance up and catch a score or a minute of the game between sets. All in all still a great 5 star gym.
Very nice club, with turf section
I am so excited to share my experience on working with Curtis, he is truly exceptional. All thanks to him for making me believe that I can do workouts and be proud of being in a weight loss journey. He wouldn’t just stop at encouraging and pushing the strugglers but he goes out of way to help his clients. He is always available and dedicates his time and energy for the clients good, let it be from clarifying doubts with the program to motivating clients towards lifestyle changes to achieve consistency. I feel blessed to have got Curtis as my trainer, his professionalism and being on top of things speak for his work ethics. I can assure one thing, if you ever need help like me to get started or continue on getting trained, look no further than Curtis.
When my husband and i wanted to register at this branch we asked them if we can change our branch free of charge or not, as we knew that we were going to move soon. They answered yes. But, after 4 months when we moved to the new address the manager refused to change our branch free of charge. That's a big reason why i didn't renew my contract the next year! I am not trusting good life!
Great facility, free heated underground parking.
Great gym, just beware of lack of locker. Also extremely busy between 4 pm and 8 pm
Firstly, you need to ask yourself, who doesn't want a Goodlife? Secondly, you' need ask yourself, has Goodlife always been one word? If so, I certainly wrote some wrong English papers growing up. Seek the good life at the Goodlife. Also, important to note, there is no brewery.. if you're hoping for a brewery at the Goodlife Fitness Edmonton Brewery, you will be disappointed. Overall the good life at the Goodlife is achievable without it.
Absolutely love this GoodLife location. It has free underground parking (BIG plus for me as finding parking in the city isn’t always the easiest), a cycling studio, a hot yoga studio, a regular group session studio, both a steam room and a dry sauna in the change rooms, and all the regular machines, stretching areas, etc. I’ve found it to have the most amenities out of the other GoodLife locations in Edmonton and St.Albert that I’ve been to. Plus the staff keeps it pretty organized; whenever I’ve gone there’s usually people around putting away and cleaning the items used.
Good equipments and friendly staff
Awesome location & underground parking is a massive bonus. 10 outta 10
The gym is clean and modern, with plenty of equipment. Not a lot sets the gym apart from other gyms though aside from the friendly staff. Omar Ali, my personal trainer, is especially wonderful to deal with. He is extremely accommodating to my schedule and as a referral was the only reason I got back to the gym because of the great things I heard from others I know who are trained by him. I've had personal trainers before but none have focused so directly on tailored results, and giving me workouts to do at home with the equipment I have available (especially during Covid and the gym not being open outside regular training sessions). It is a fair distance from my home to commute twice a week, but I make the trip (instead of finding training at a gym closer to home) because of Omar. He has exceptional work ethic even after long hours... sometimes I'm the 10th or 11th person he trained that day, yet you wouldn't know it without him telling you. If you are looking for personal training, ask for him. You won't be disappointed.
Good gym overall. I've been working out here for almost a year. One thing to pay attention, this location is not 24h 7 days a week. It's a 24h gym starting on Monday at 5:30am then closing on Friday at 10pm. In the weekends the hours of operation are 7am-8pm. Elevator is available and also a huge and free underground heated parking lot. STILL MISSING items: ice machine for compression, single triceps ropes, tricep pull handles in v-shape. ***UPDATES: iron and ironing board added in men’s change room, free Wifi that works most of the time.*** Other than that this gym has plenty of space, it feels airy. A lot of machines, cross-fit area, very high ceiling, good ventilation, nice shower, and free heated underground parking. Be aware Monday’s after 3:30pm are super packed. Highly recommended for the location, free heated underground parking lot, amenities and the value you get.
Great layout of the facility and an amazing staff. Best location in the city.
Nice and clean. Place is newly built.
It's a great gym but it is always too crowded. At any time, they need to expand.
Gone downhill over the summer, it seems like they don't care about keeping the gym clean despite saying they want members to sanitize for COVID. Doesn't seem to matter if I workout in the afternoon or late at night when the gym is quiet, the wipe/spray stations to clean your weights/bench are usually empty. It's been happening so often I had to say something, when you only get 1hr to workout its annoying to waste time walking halfway across the gym to stand in a four-deep line for a wipe because the two dispensers closest to my bench are both empty. Earlier this week there were 6 empty dispensers (3 no wipes, 3 no spray), tonight it was 4 empty in the areas I was lifting (3 no wipes, 1 no spray). Staff don't bother walking around the gym to check on things or even be available behind the desk, they're too busy hanging out in the private offices chatting. Shame because I like the size of the gym and it's closest to me.
Expensive but worth it
Great attention, full variety of machines and availability even during rush hours. Towel service is good. Massage machines looks old and changing room looks small during rush hours
All new equipment great environment
Probably the nicest looking gym out of all the goodlifes in the city. HOWEVER worst customer service, I been to fair amount of locations and this one out of all of them seems to be the most unwelcoming, accept for that one blonde guy who does reception he was super nice and helpful. But all the other GoodLifes are usually super friendly and welcoming, they say hi and smile and welcome you in. These receptionist kind of just stand there hands crossed and either doesn’t acknowledge you or straight faced and doesn’t hi or anything.
Best Goodlife fitness gym in the city!
There is a employee who works the front desk, who has the strongest BO I have ever smelt, it is appalling. The machines are constantly broken and left for weeks. 3 out of 5 stairmasters broken almost every day.
Very Nice gym.
Good open space. Helpful staff. Love the individual tv display with the cardio machines.
Good place and enough equipment
The PT Manager didn’t call me back. This review is up until my issue got fixed. I want my money back.
The cycling studio is amazing. Best part of the gym. Actually, that's a lie. The best part is people watching. So many people come here to be seen and barely work out. It's quite entertaining to watch the testosterone rampage.
My trainer Ali is awesome. My training with him started on August 11, 2021. Two weeks later I noticed more muscles on my arms. In the third week In noticed my chest and shoulders. In fourth week I noticed my thighs, hamstrings, and glutes. Ali's approach is calm and firm. His training is hard and effective. It always makes me want to challenge myself. His training reflects his education in kinesiology and knowledge through experiences. He provides me with guidance on healthy eating, good sleeping habits, breathing techniques, and other good practices for well-being. Ali is approachable, capable, and effective. He cares and listens to his clients. I can push myself a lot harder when training with him. He is an amazing professional trainer.
I trained with Logan for almost 3 months, and believe he is one of the best and most committed trainers around. Logan was focused on helping me achieve my goals and made every session challenging (& somehow fun). I immediately saw improvements in my ability to lift progressively heavier weights & generally pushed myself harder throughout each session. Thanks Logan!
I like this new branch. It is huge and new. Staff is friendly. I wish it was 24/7.
I wanted to believe the rumours weren’t true about how awful this gym is, so I gave it a try to see for myself. Yep. Rumours are true. From customer service to cleanliness to organization - this facility is far from managed properly and should reconsider the operation entirely. If only I could get my TIME and MONEY back.
Gym started off well but recently there has been issues with maintenance (showers are gross along with the bathrooms), customer service and quality. Shady corporate shenanigans with your membership (try and see if you can change your membership details and see). The staff is awesome but the group fitness classes were cut and the gym is more like a mosh pit when it's busy. It's still good value for your money.
It is great location with plenty of space!
Great location for anyone living in the Oliver or Queen Mary neighborhoods. Space is clean with a really good selection of machines for cardio and weights, as well as a good selection of free weights. Haven't tried any of the classes but I believe they offer yoga, zumba etc. The only issue I had is my wife went one morning and someone/possibly staff pressured her somewhat to signup for personal training, and called and emailed her quite a few times during her work hours. If you don't want anything like that, make sure to just say no.
Best GoodLife I've visited hands down.
Compared to the west end good life, the downtown location needs to improve. Always dirty, even when there's plenty of staff behind the counter that could get to work. Two pieces of equipment have been broken for 2 months, another time the water fountains were broken for over a week. If my membership wasn't paid for through work, I would go somewhere else.
great gym occasional breakdown of equipment clean dry and wet sauna great guest service from Dilan
They said they will be open October 28 at the latest, and that the website will be accurate so just keep checking online in case it's open earlier.
Staff was being extremely unprofessional. I brought friends before so they could try it for the first time (always getting in for free after signing the waver) and many of them ended up being members. Today I brought someone with me and they not only made us wait 20 min when they clearly had people available to help, they made her pay for a drop in. I don’t get why they keep promoting the invite/refer your friends when they make them pay for it. No wonder why they’re losing so many customers.
I trained with Omar ali for months and he was the best trainer I could’ve asked for. I’m awkward and he made me feel super comfortable working out in the gym and taught me stuff I’ve used for almost 2 years now in my everyday workouts. He never pushed me outside of what I really didn’t feel comfortable doing! Would highly recommend Omar for anyone who wants to take on a PT and try learning something new!
Needs to be 24/7 all week. This is the #1 complaint about this place and has prevented a lot of people I know from working out at this location.
GoodLife is my favoriting gym I have ever been a member of! Brewery location is home for me, gym and locker rooms are clean, the reception staff are friendly and greet me with a smile every morning, classes are awesome! Love the hot yoga! ❤️
Had a really terrible experience here on two week trial. Would definitely not return. Not conducive for full body fitness.
I joined the Brewery District Goodlife when it first opened and I found it to be a great gym. It is very bright and airy with a great variety of fitness equipment and free weights suitable for any level. It was also my first time using a personal trainer, Logan Gardiner. Logan was excellent in guiding me in my fitness journey, starting by doing a complete assessment of my abilities, then beginning slow and building on my success by challenging me with different exercises, a variety of equipment and lifting higher levels of weight. He always considers my input and adjusts my program accordingly. He is also personable, has a positive attitude and fun to spend time with in the gym. Training with Logan has made a tremendous impact.
GoodLife gym is an amazing gym and clean. I do personal training with Omar Ali and he is an amazing trainer (definitely recommend). He has such a great vibe and really motivates you to push through when you feel like giving up. Overall, it’s a great experience!
The hours of this club were always a joke. Despite the "24 hours" signs everywhere, before the pandemic it would stay open 24 hours only few days a week. Now it closes at 11 PM or earlier every day... So, stay open 24 hours as advertised or remove the signs...
Great location, Recently moved downtown and my home good life was clarieview. Was kind of skeptical working out here but then I realize that I feel at home again. Lots of equipment and friendly staff. Front desk reception is very friendly especially the new motivators! Ive been a Goodlife member for years and I never get tired of going!
Clean - New - Friendly Winner winner, Breast chicken dinner! We will be signing up and looking forward to a healthy lifestyle! Cheers to the non ego atmosphere????
Great gym with turf!
It's interesting that the owner replies to positive posts, but does not address the negative comments. Perhaps he, too, is new at his job, and does not yet realize the power of social media!? There's your challenge.
I’ve been a member of GoodLife for 20 years, for sure this is my favourite location. Great facility. I trained with Logan for a year and would recommend him to anyone. Very professional and knowledgeable. Would have kept training if not for moving! Thank you Logan!
My fiancé and I absolutely love this GoodLife location! We have had multiple amazing experiences! Some of these are: from the first time we stepped into this location, we felt very welcome. The staff are super friendly and Fitness Advisor, Dorian, went above and beyond to help us find the perfect membership within our budget. I completed the Life changer session with Personal Trainer Bert. I highly recommend Bert if you are wanting to train with a trainer. He is extremely knowledgeable and helps you feel very comfortable. The classes are also Phenomenal and the instructors are incredibly motivating and easy to follow. Come check out this club!!
Good location for a decent workout, unlike other good life locations this one closes early on Fridays and weekends (8 pm). Did not have this information disclosed to us when signing up, Calgary trail location is far more consistent 24 hours (minus holidays)
Only complaint is it isn't a 24/7 gym but what other gyms offer free heated underground parking? It's pretty nice to see your car completely defrosted after your workout when it's -40C outside. But yeah it's a big open gym that is very well ventilated with tons of benches, machines, squat racks, equipment, water fountains, barbells even a trap bar, and free weights. It's not very often you you'll have to wait to use something. My other complaint is dumbells only go up to 100lbs but Goodlife is a commercial gym so it's kind of expected.
I'm always a fan of good life would like to see 24/7 it's always rather annoying when it's not actually 24hrs. I work out of town and days and nights so coming home to doing what I want is great. Today up at 5 but it's not open till 7
Been going to GoodLife brewery for over two years, I have loved it there! I have been training with Logan, and he has been amazing! Great energy and really cares about his clients! He’s also been so great in adapting workouts with some of my back problems which has been great. The only downside, It seems like machines are broken a lot, but fixed slowly. It’s a big place so it’s not taking away from a workout, just with the costs I would expect a quicker response.
I have a hard time with this location in particular. There is a terrible mentality with the patrons. Nobody seems to like wearing shirts, people take benches to do yoga (while only using the bench as a phone holder) during prime time (again not wearing a shirt), people either look at you like you're an idiot or like you're a piece of meat, and the worst is how frequently guys drop their weights. There is a pet store right below this location and it gets so loud down there when weights are dropped that the animals are constantly stressed out. The staff aren't nice, either. The only thing I like about working out at this location is the Freshii across the parking lot that gives you a Goodlife discount. I have almost no problems at every other location in the city I've been to. I highly recommend any other Goodlife location.
Busy and a handful of members have the worst body odor so it makes it hard to workout at times
Best staff and facilities In downtown core hands Down
Clean place, over busy.
Spacious and plenty of machines. Lots of squat racks which is a bonus. Nice atmosphere
Love the facility. clean lots of equipment, staff are very polite and friendly!!
Best group fitness classes.
Sadly disappointing ... no follow up
Like all goodlifes everything is starting to breakdown and not replaced :( Also running live classes in the main workout area while the studio sits empty
Good place to get fit at reasonable fee
The gym itself is pretty good. Facilities are usually clean, equipment breaks down frequently. Biggest problem I've had is with my account. The first time I had an issue I ended up having to pay over $250 to correct this. Next issue a payment was somehow missed and they're now telling me I owe $280 dollars. So including the payments I've made and this other fine I will have paid over $750 for my $450 two year membership. When I went in to find out about this issue I waited 45 minutes to speak with the manager, she spoke with me for a total of 45 seconds, couldn't tell me anything and gave me a 1800 number to call. Fantastic. Overall I wouldn't actually reccomend going here, I've had my account issues and so has my gym partner (he's still not entirely sure what happened with his account, all he knows is that he had to waste $235). Update: they have admitted to the account issues being their fault and have removed the charges to my account. I'll update further as I return to my gym routine.
Always enjoy work out there! Staff is always very nice. And I've trained with Omar Ali over a year now, very profesional trainer, highly recommended.
The gym needs to be 24 hours. The gym is very nice and very fancy but terrible customer service. Lots of people at this gym need to be fired. Period.
Great gym, new and clean facilities. Wish there were more classes available
My trainer is Omar Ali and he is an excellent trainer. He is extremely knowledgeable and attentive. He makes sure that I am doing each exercise correctly and I am happy with the progress that I am making. He is a great motivator and has gone above and beyond to help me achieve my fitness and weight goals. I also feel that I receive an excellent workout session with Omar each time. Omar is punctual, friendly, reliable, goes out of his way to accommodate my schedule and makes the workouts fun. He is also a great communicator. I would highly recommend Omar to anyone who is looking for a great trainer.
Had an amazing experience at the gym, Damon gave me a very nice tour
Staff are amazing. Gym is clean and the equipment is always in great repair. The change rooms are great and the sauna, steam room, and showers are wonderful to have. The only downside is the gym can get REALLY busy at certain hours.
I found it to be really nice to workout as it wasn't very crowded. Front desk is always nice, welcoming, friendly and always ready to help. There are cleaning stations located around the gym which makes if feel safe to workout.
Love the peace and quiet after midnight! best facilities and always clean.
Very good customer service. Dorian especially is always smiling and super nice. Thank you guys for taking care of us :)
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. That's all i can say :(
Good gym if you live close.
Large space with a variety of equipment, even during peak hours I can still find something to do. I love that this location has hot yoga, and free underground parking.
Great gym in downtown core. Good space with new equipment and friendly trainers
New gym. Best gym in edmonton for commercial gyms.
The staff is awesome! Machines are really new. The facilities are great with steam room showers and all.
Clean area to work out and is open 24/7. Good machines and weights
good equipment and nice people over there.
My friend referred me to this gym, and they let me drop in and work out with her, I was hesitant as the last gym I was at was a disappointment at best. At the end of my work out I wanted to sign up, but no sales people where there which I found odd at it was 10:30am. I left and came back the next morning to work out and sign up. Again no sales people to help me, however the girl at the front said she would sign me up, although she is not supposed too. She was helpful and clear on all requirements and commitments. After my work out she had a welcome package for me. Because I did not go through a sales person my friends referral doesn't count, but the experience was good overall
Had Logan from the Brewery district GoodLife as my personal trainer while I worked out there. Honestly one of the best personal trainers I have had in a while! He was more than willing to go the extra mile to make me comfortable at the gym which seemed to be a daunting place to me when I first started. Curated customized workout plans for me that were both fun and challenging at the same time! If you ever want to train with somebody from there ask for him. I promise you won’t regret it! Loved my experience at the GoodLife and will definitely come back after the pandemic is over.
Facility is super nice and staff is awesome - the only thing that sucks is there is no wifi
Great layout and variety of equipment, etc. However, the bathroom is never clean and it takes forever for anything from fitness equipment to water fountains to get repaired. I have been to other clubs but this is the only one that has the messy bathroom issue
Signed up under the assumption that it was a 24 hour gym, but it is actually only 24 hours on certain days. Tried to organise a refund but nobody got back to the several messages I left. Only one stairmaster out of five are working and several other machines are out of order, far too many to be considered reasonable maintainence. Im lucky to get a nod or a forced hello from most of the employees here as well. Very much a shame because the location and setup are fantastic. Recommend training at a different goodlife.
Was eager to join, but their marketing practices favoured invading my privacy over taking my money.
Omar Ali is the best trainer I've ever worked with. When I just started training with him, I would give up easily and wasn't really involved in my own success. Thank you for giving me the greatest motivation to achieve results beyond all dreams. I strongly recommend Omar Ali ????????
Amazing gym! My fav GoodLife in YEG.
Great service, especially training by Omar - would totally recommend booking with him.
Too hot in here. It’s like a steamer
Great large gym, but the best part is the staff! Connor borrowed me his personal lock when I was travelling from out of town and didn't have one. Really appreciated it!!! Highly recommend.
I’ve been going to goodlife for years, I love it. The classes are great- my favourites being body flow and Zumba. Debbie is especially really great at teaching Zumba and is so bubbly and full of energy. Dorian and Kristina are always so nice and friendly whenever I come in - thank you so much, you make it easy to come in when I know you’ll be there and encouraging me. The equipment and area is always clean.
Horrible service, when we decided to cancel our personal training sessions because of Unsafe conditions outside - they misdirected us several times such as 1) When we visited the branch to cancel - reception told us we will receive a phone call from Personal training department and they will help us to cancel, which never happened as of today. 2) During our second visit Ron advised us to call call Center to make a request - Call Center never answered the call from yesterday till now. 3) We reported this to the location - this time they have advised us to go through the web chat, well yesterday its almost 4hrs i was waiting in some one to response my chat, but NO LUCK. Today again after waiting almost 2hrs some one answered me saying Manager of the branch can take this request and call Center can not help. 4) I called to inform the same to Ron, he mentioned that he can not do anything other than directing calls to Call Center / Web-chat (glad he gave me Branch manager name at-least). 5) I called Branch Manager Erica today and explained the whole - so she put me on hold for 10 minutes and was just trying to read the Agreement that it has no cancellation policy no matter they close personal training or gyms because of COVID situation however they keep saying customer service is delayed because of COVID How FUNNY. 6) She advised me to use this service before April 2022, my immediate question to her was can i get the same trainer? we booked this session with this trainer for a reason, she started flipping the words like your contract is with Goodlife but not with the trainer. can i go back next year and book with whom ever i want ? i know the answer will be NO at that time. To sum it up -i have to go through this very bad Customer Service in my life. i would rather donate my personal training fee to get their employees train better so they can treat customers good in future. i will never ever go to this gym or advise this to any one. Thanks GoodLife for being such an unprofessional organization.
3 things i dislike about these gym. I strongly disagree with having a male janitor in female change room without any notice being posted. Lucky me I saw him as soon as I walked in there. Secondly steam room is turned off at 11 to 4. Lastly they always say they are open 24 hours. Not ture 24 hours is only from 7 am Monday to Friday 10 on. Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 8 pm. Other than that great equipments
Lots of equipment for heavy lifters and those who are just Learning. Only complaint is Goodlife treats themself like a cult and makes membership options difficult and expensive
Great facility to hit after classes and get a good break in! I trained with Logan and would recommend him to anyone. Very knowledgeable and easy to get along with. Will always push you to do better and get stronger, continuously upping your weights when ready. He definitely takes into account any barriers you may have, such as back pain like I have. I have been very proud with how much weight I can handle now compared to when I first started. Will always support and cheer you on to keep going. Very easy to schedule times with as he is always willing to make it work for the both of you. Would have loved to renew my contract with him if it wasn't for me moving.
Feeling defeated, heavy, and in denial of my current physical state, I made an executive decision to hire a personal trainer. Through the grace of God, the universe aligned me with Curtis-who is FYI nothing short of amazing!!! Curtis is engaging and very knowledgeable when it comes to the body and overall fitness. He is a trainer who continuously challenges me. When we first began, I could barely do a squat. Fast forward to today-my mobility and strength has increased ten-fold. Confidence replaced insecurity. Thank-you Curtis for your nonstop words of encouragement and believing in me, when I didn’t believe in myself!!!
Personal trainer Omar Ali has helped me reduce my frequency of injury and rehabilitate old injuries. He has been flexible with my shift worker schedule and adapted to my specific work out needs. I've been able to achieve a higher level of fitness, self confidence, and overall quality of life. Thanks Omar!
This is the best Goodlife in Canada. It is a huge gym with every piece of equipment imaginable. Plentiful squat racks, benches, and dumbbell and cable equipment for the bodybuilder crowd.
Why are you called a 24 hr gym when you're not open 24 hrs? Misleading advertising. ????
Terrible customer service. The employees I dealt with are extremely rude and do not care about helping you at all. I want to work out in an environment that is friendly and helpful, not one where I feel judged and unimportant.
Updated, clean space. Equipment is fairly well maintained. Decent level of douchey gym rats which deters me from use of certain areas of the gym. Staff could be a little more friendly but they’re not unpleasant.
Great clean gym and members, lots of equipment, professional staff. Only downside is that they're not 24/7. That would be perfect. Instead I have to drive to other parts of the city or St Albert after this one's hours.
This is my favourite Goodlife location in Edmonton! I'm always impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. I also love how the equipment is set up. I trained here with Omar Ali who is a FANTASTIC trainer! His workout plan was challenging and fun, and he inspired me to push myself harder! Always a great workout with him! If you are looking for an awesome trainer at Goodlife, I would highly recommend Omar!
Usually quite packed and they just raised prices again.
Omar Ali has taught me valuable information on feet positioning, form & taught me how to deadlift properly! Guy is a beauty and works very hard with his clients
Nicest GoodLife I’ve ever been too. Very well laid out and kept in top shape by their managers!
Friendly staff. Good size gym. Variety of cardio classes. Child care services available. Facility is kept very clean.
Nice gym but it’s extremely hot in there. I can just stand in one place and start sweating. I don’t like working out in my sports bra. Please lower the heat just a bit please
Beautiful gym with great views.
I’ve went to many different gyms in the past but I can easily say this is my favourite. I personally don’t understand all these negative reviews. If your a high maintanence person and you find the littlest details to get upset about id day just workout at home. If you’re looking for a gym with great equiptment and a great layout to get a good workout in then this is the place!
This is a wonderful gym with many pieces of equipment for all your fitness needs. The staff at the front counter are always smiling and very nice to start your workout. You have to watch thou when u go to Goodlife as the high times as it is very congested with limited locker spaces and has tight quarters on any cardio machine ,fitness equipment,Benches or squat racks. But overall it has a comfortable atmosphere, with fairly new and up kept Equipment.
Great customer service friendly environment.
The lockers are dirty all the time here. And I wish they would take down the 24 hour thing because it isn't 24 hours
Beautiful gym. Everything you need. Great location
I really like the layout and variety of equipment. Great place to workout. Has everything I need and then some. Also, the staff is always super helpful and friendly, especially Kimberly, Make sure to ask for her if you are looking for a membership. :)
Love it that now they have an open workout schedule from 11 to 4pm
Great gym lots of new equipment fairly busy only downside
Very clean and well kept, appreciate the staff enforcing gym etiquette.
Very good gym
Goodlife needs to improve on customer relations quick to sell but not good at problem solving. Machines are breaking . As well we need to solve the texters and self absorbed individuals ( which is plenty here ) to stop wasting time on machines. Maybe a sign would help ya got signs for everything else . Been a member for 6 yrs and it's getting worse . This facility has grown way out of hand and lost the ability to provide the service to says it has . To many cooks in the kitchen .
Used to be good, not anymore .... Overcapacity
This location is very cool looking inside. Love that they offer hot yoga and saunas.
how disappointing that the employee here " Jaylin ,while gossiping to a co worker & swearing very unprofessional I want this taken up with head office asap. This was a place I wanted to relax and enjoy my time not get harassed
Great location, good classes, easy parking, new equipment! Be prepared for how busy it gets weekday afternoons/evenings and to wait for all equipment between 3:30-6:30 pm.
Omar Ali is my personal trainer. I highly recommend him! He is very knowledgeable, encouraging and friendly. He is accommodating with my schedule and he designed a workout plan to fit my goals. The gym itself is also great. It's large and has every machine you can think of.
I have been here so many times and have been helped by omar ali with my fitness goals, he is by far the best trainer and the most genuine guy I know. He is always friendly, caring and helpful to everyone pay him a visit if you need help with anything.
I like the gym and it's got nice equipment and awesome staff but the fact it isn't 24hrs on the weekend or Friday is really irritating
