Excellent, excellent gym. There is a lot of space and a ton of squat racks. There is a dedicated Olympic lifting area, as well as deadlift and cross training area. The cardio area is well laid out, with a half dozen each of treadmills and ellipticals in addition to a Jacobs ladder. There are several lifting machines for muscle group isolation. One of the best features is the turfed area for stretching or bodyweight exercise. The fees are extremely reasonable and the staff are super helpful.

Great facility. The staff are very friendly and approachable. The set up of the gym offers a great variety of all types of training. Happy to have a skylight in the gym. The steam rooms are great. Only downside would be parking in the impark lot on the east side.

This is my favorite gym in the city. It's like Crossfit and Goodlife had a baby who grew up to be the best of both. Their equipment - especially the olympic weightlifting equipment - is top notch and the membership fee is quite decent for what the facility offers.

Evolve is a bit pricey for the variety of machines. It's also frustrating when people and trainers take up the bench press area to do squats and dumbell work; you'd think trainers would at least know better.

Amazing facility. This place is standardized with equipment brands like eleiko, precor, and rogue. Lots of space and equipment to choose from, and it seems like they're constantly adding. Just got some stones and a couple smaller tires recently. No contract and very affordable rates as well. Only issue is parking, which could be hard to find at peak times.

Gym is great, annoying when all the trainer's have their clients all over the gym, taking up some scarce equipment at times. Usually between 6 and 8 am.

I had a hard time finding a gym until I came here. It's a well run and clean facility - the layout is very functional giving it an awesome vibe. Staff are professional and extremely friendly. From what I've noticed it's not a bro gym - People that go the the gym are polite and there to work out; not flaunting themselves around. Well done Evolve! Further, I had the misconception that this was a crossfit focused gym as there are many around the city. This is not the case, there are plenty of machines and squat racks in the main area! The olympic/crossfit lifting area are tucked into the back corner which localises the noise.

This is a fantastic gym, definitely my favourite one in the city. I like that the gym has a lot of open space, especially the turf area. Everyone I've dealt with here is great, very professional, and friendly. I think this is the perfect gym for beginners and full time athletes alike. If you are considering joining a gym, evolve strength downtown should be at the top of your list.

Great gym, modern facility with up to date equipment. Change facilities are clean. Free parking, but sometimes hard to find a spot during peak hours. Lots of different things in this gym that aren’t standard: Artificial turf, sprint lanes for linear motion exercises, lots of equipment, and on-site professional staff like physio, chiropractic, acupuncture, etc...

My home away from home! Love the atmosphere, it is very clean, staff are friendly and I can drop weights and do my Olympic lifts without any issue. Truly a gym designed for people who take their training seriously, and is inclusive of any and all forms of training (including whether you are new to going to the gym or not). I am no doubt, lucky to have access to such a wonderful facility. I also appreciate the business model, which allows trainers and health practitioners to work in an environment free of corporate BS, as they are not forced to reach monthly sales targets (hallelujah!) and are given the freedom to expand and promote their business autonomously.

Membership price is pretty decent for the wide selection of high quality equipment that is cared for properly. This gym offers more than just cardio equipment... Weight lifting platforms, ER racks, procore racks, deadlifting platforms and jacks, variety of barbells, plates and free weights, and even green terf space and strongman equipment. Change rooms are kept very clean as well. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable, and there are many trainers that work there. There are also physiotherapists and a Brazilian jujitsu club. This place has everything!

You when you hope that one minor change in your life will create a circle of virtue and all your moons will align. That’s what I was hoping for when changing Gyms. A butterfly affect to make me into a beautiful butterfly. Pretty high expectations I know but if it’s possible Evolve has exceeded those over grown expectations. I literally had the best gym experience a person could have. The equipment is nice. Easy to use. Easy to understand. It’s all put back nicely where is belongs. The gym is spacious and easy to create a circuit workout around one muscle group. The patrons were friendly enough and respectful of the equipment. Similar to the lighting and air quality, the staff are friendly in a really natural way. This space is, dare I say, queer friendly in a really subtle but pleasant way. No anger or hostility toward queer persons. They also have tanning, physiotherapy, training, emotional support MDs. This is a health center built for people to live their best lives. I do regret, a little bit, telling you how amazing it is because I’m worried you’re all going to come invade my gorgeous, newfound space and make it a crowded and negative space similar to my old gym. But I will have to live with the consequences.

Nice big facility, they keep it clean. One of the best places to work out for people training powerlifting and strongman. Tons of racks, platforms Eleiko plates, and a huge turf surface. Some of the best trainers in the city are here, and the staff are amazing. Evolve houses a physio clinic and a BJJ studio, so it does get crowded at times. The one downside is they don't have a ton of machines. If you bodybuild and you like the plate loaded machines, you will be disappointed.

Nice gym but I didn't know I signed up for a daycare. Sorry but an adult gym is not the place for training kids. I don't pay $50 a month to dodge kids using equipment who are un supervised and could potentially injured themselves. Again.... I pay $50 a month, do these kids pay $50 a month plus a personal trainer? Sorry these kids belong in a school gym, not an adult gym. Hope it's not a regularity. If I wanted to sign up for a family gym I would have signed up to the YMCA. Otherwis nice, clean facility with friendly staff. Parking is a bit of an issue and could use an extra row.

Been a member since shortly after it opened. Always found parking extremely difficult at all times. They also have a very small mens locker room. I was surprised when they decided to raise their membership fees, and also cancel my industry specific discount. I chose to cancel my membership and had to provide 30 days notice. Provided them notice a week before they closed due to Covid-19. They charged me for a month while they were closed for business. When I contacted them about the charge they stated that I should of known 5 months later I could come and use their facility. I found their customer service on this issue terrible. ***UPDATE*** Management reached out to me about my concerns and were great at offering solutions to all of my issues. I am 110% back in love with this gym and recommend it to all of my friends.

I wanted to evaluate the gym, so the manager made me a deal where I could try it out for free for a short time and I was impressed. Unfortunately logistics caused me to decline but that was only because of my personal situation and was not because of the gym itself. The gym, manager's handling of my account and the quality was outstanding. Their ethics are stellar and that is a huge plus. The last gym I was involved with took advantage of Covid and had negative ethics. Not Evolve as I enthusiastically give them five stars for being honest and straightforward.

I enjoyed working out here during the periods when gyms were open during the pandemic, and they were always serious in keeping the gym COVID safe when it was open. I have always liked to go into gyms where I can do my thing in peace and quiet, and I have found that the culture here is friendly, courteous, and professional, and serious for bettering one's fitness and wellness at all stages of one's journey. I recommend this gym if you don't like gym-bro or meatheads, as they do not seem to frequent here, at least in the mornings when I worked out. The staff have always been friendly, diligent, and great communicators when I signed up initially, and when I had to cancel my membership due to my moving to Vancouver. I can only hope to find a gym as nice as this one in Vancouver!

I go here at least once a week, great space, great people, good atmosphere, the only downside for me is a shortage of some equipment ie: plyometrics boxes, and only one landmine station.

It really is a toss up between this place and goodlife in the Brewery District they are both about the same price on our corporate plan. Evolve never has enough parking and I’m not just talking about peak times . In addition the men’s change room is way too small sometimes you can’t even find a locker and with only two small benches you’re tripping over other dudes trying to change. Although they do provide towels there is also often a wait for the showers as well. There are also trainers running random boot camps and kids classes so sometimes equipment and turf is tied up for extended periods of time. Would I ever pay over $50 an hour to work out in this space with a trainer hell no, there are much better options in the area however they do have some good recovery professionals such as massage and physio in the place. Evolve also has some equipment that’s not found at other gyms and the staff and facility users are nice . Having said that once the snow flies I will probably go back to goodlife for the plentiful underground parking and free group classes.

Love this location of Evolve, I will be coming to this location more often. It has great quality equipment, lots of room, and excellent changing rooms. The surrounding area isn't great for parking, but that can't be helped. Lastly, Evolve Downtown should consider updating their pictures in the hallway to photos of their location.

My workouts are long sometimes so I'll probably forget but for most people and for the practioners and patients it's great! ... The gym and staff are great. Nice facility, big, lots of space. Olympic lifting equipment is all pretty much new, great quality (Eleiko). Almost feel guilty using it (sometimes).

I've been attending Evolve DT for about a month and I'm really delighted with the location, amenities, equipment (quality, availability, variety), staff (super friendly, helpful, and professional), and the cleanliness of the gym and change rooms. I also want to give a special thanks to Shay (I hope I've spelled her name correctly!) who is always cheerful and helpful. She spent several minutes with me showing me how to adjust a piece of equipment and use it correctly and safely.

One of the best gyms in the city if you're into power lifting, Olympic lifting or an athlete. This is not your typical "bro" gym. Not a lot of cardio machines like a World health or Goodlife. Lots of turf, 10 Olympic platforms, deadlift platforms, a lot of squat racks.

I'm the one you're looking for

Maybe I'm pampered but not the type of gym I'm into. The equipment is sparse but the space is plentiful. Lots of cardio equipment and some really good machines. Racks are sparing and their other equipment is so light you may be waiting a while for a piece. Some people seem to tie up a single piece (not racks that is to be expected) for 30 minutes or more. Parking sucks, parking lot you'll lose a rim in the potholes. Washroom is small and not private at all. Wipe down stations are almost non existent and they're dry dry dry.

Excellent gym for real training. A bit specialized for neophytes but the community is so accessible it easily makes up for it. Strong man great, CrossFit great, bumper plates, Olympic platforms, turf, etc are all will maintained and available. Place is always clean, provides towels, parking etc. It's like the gym you didn't know could exit.

My personal experience with this gym is that of dishonesty. There is a 30 day cancelation period for their no commitment passes (they will charge your card 2-3 more times if you cancel). This is not mentioned when you sign up and is only visible in the fine print of a contract that you sign. (they tell you that this contract is for liability reasons, but it is in fact a membership contract). They hold on to your credit card info through this. This kind of business practice runs very close to that of a scam, which is probably why they are not accredited by the better business bureau. When you try to clarify this, you are met with condescending attitudes from staff members, telling you that this is a standard practice in the, "fitness community." As a former university athlete, I know that this practice is not acceptable. I was told that the head of the company would contact me about this, however that never happened. It's really sad that people genuinely believe that charging someones card in this manner multiple times is okay.

Booked a massage with one of there therapist got a confirmation email saying he accepted the appointment. When I get there I wait for 20 minutes,he finally comes to talk to me tells me.because I booked online some times it double books . They had me down for 330 but did not send me an email or phone me to inform me of this. So I drove 20 min for nothing . They did not even apologize.

Honestly, my favourite gym in Edmonton such an amazing facility the people are amazing front desk always help out. I've been working with Amber for a month now and been extremely happy with my results. Honestly one of the best personal trainers in YEG by far. Very professional and knowledgeable in powerlifting and overall fitness also an amazing person that I look up too! Would highly recommend her to everyone wanting to get started working with a personal trainer it is definitely worth it.
