I’ve really enjoyed my experience with Anytime Fitness. Their prices are reasonable, especially for someone who’s just looking for a basic facility to work out in. It’s not as busy as traditional outlets too, which is always a nice bonus. I just moved away from this location but it served me well for the last couple years. Keep it up!

The staff are also very gracious, professional and accomodating! Scott Smith made our temporary passes one of the best experiences we've ever had at a gym. Thanks Scott! Genuinly warm, friendly and informative, Scott left us with such a great impression, we ended up sharing the news of the new Allendale gym location with our neighbors and friends. Very negative experience with anytime fitness. In March I had attempted to freeze my gym membership multiple times and had no response to my messages and phone calls. Fast forward to October and I found out my account had been suspended and the remaining 7 months of my contract was sent to a collection agency before I even knew my account was suspended. Long story short after many calls with the collection agency and the owner, the owner said he would take care of it. The owner didn't do anything and my credit score was negatively affected. Very unreliable management, doesn’t hold his word and screens calls so he doesn’t have to talk to you. Wouldn’t recommend the gym as they have bad policies and they don’t care about their customers they are just out to get your money.

so september long weekend i wanted to work out so bad. i went to my normal gym world health and they where closed.. so i went all the way to the gateway blvd world heath and sure enough they where closed. I wanted to try anytime fitness ever since 2 weeks ago when jay cuttler posted that he was working out at one the day before his autograph signing on the south side... i was having a bad day and the face all my gyms where closed didnt help... i went to anytime fitness and no one was there so i got sad yet again. as i was pulling up to anytime fitness i had called them. as i was leaving i received a text message. I want to give a huge shout out and thank you to ROB. via text message he noticed how bad i just wanted to get my work out on He remotely unlocked the door and let me try out the place for free. i was absolutely stunned. on top of that the machines where a million times smoother and better then world healths. the place was clean and organized . if you havent worked out at a anytime fitness i suggest u give it a try you wont be let down

THIEVES! The owner is irresponsible and other franchises can verify how poorly this location is run. I had switched to the Stratchona location but this location charged my credit card for someone else's membership. On complaining they sent me to some Prism group which manages complaints and refund who in turn sent me back to them. Been going around in circles to get my money back. I don't know how anytime would sell their franchise to such a thief! Please do yourselves favour and if you want to join Anytime go to Stracthona or Kingsway.. Save yourself the time to deal with authorities after your money has been stolen. Was Hoping there would be an option for zero stars in 2020 cause these guys don't deserve any. What they deserve is Jail time!

Nice gym with lots of amenities and not too crowded. I had a membership for 1 year and enjoyed it. The gym also gives you the opportunity to go to any other Anytime gyms around the world using your key fob. Price is right, not the cheapest gym around.

Really like this gym! It's hard not to compare to the Old Strathcona location, but they are both pretty good. Complete with pretty much everything you need, it's hard to complain. At the same time, there lacks hygiene products in the washrooms, a T bar and deadlift pad.

Tanning, new equipment, multi purpose open room, safety buzzers, private shower rooms, free towel service,free parking, 24 hour. Really great staff (almost never the same people) but always good. Very new equipment with all kinds of "smart" support (Netflix, sports, news, etc.). This location is rarely packed. It's in a good neighborhood but security is still clearly a top priority. If you work out at strange times this is an excellent choice. They have locked doors (prox cards), they offer wearable emergency alert buttons and have private change room/shower rooms/bathrooms. So the only time you aren't in front of security cameras you are alone in a locked room. Clientele is largely young professionals and students.Their are very few unattractive people who frequent which is a plus. Its also extremely inexpensive compared to other gyms.

The management of this club will not answer your calls. You can leave voice-mails and they will not answer. Once they have your money, they will not help you with issues. Save yourself the hassle and go with Goodlife. UPDATE- The owner of this club has since contacted me and offered to refund the money that they shouldn't have charged me in the first place, the catch was that he would only refund me if I left a misleading 5 star review. Which I considered, but was not comfortable doing. I proposed that I try the club on a trial basis and if I had a positive experience then I would leave a positive review- I have not heard back. On top of this. My friend who also uses this gym had an issue that the management would only remedy after he gave a 5 star review. BUYER BEWARE they buy positive reviews at this gym.

Anytime Fitness is a complete joke. Identified "Staffed" office hours, resulting in no staff present. Trying to cancel a membership is a complete joke! First, the website states to contact their club number. I have called this number over 50 times during "staffed" office hours and never received a response. I also sent emails, text messages as per directions to cancel account......no reply, yet every month they continued to take money from my credit card. Finally, I spotted a "staff member" during staffed hours, and brought in my written termination letter, and had the employee sign the letter (I brought 2 copies) for proof of receipt. Before I even left the parking lot, the number that I had been calling for months with no reply, sent me a text message, asking how they could help me. Really? Finally, I received the "secret" email to cancel my membership. After they ripped me off for 7 months of membership fees due to their evasive tactics, I FINALLY have been able to cancel my membership. Despite no refund, I am just glad to get the hell out of this RIP OFF fitness club. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER Anytime fitness. SUPER DISAPPOINTED!

Signed up for a 1 year contract at the same time as my wife. Continuous renewals was never checked off on either of our memberships. We knew we were only going to be in Edmonton for a little less than a year but one year membership was the way to go. I have had nothing but issues trying to get ahold of someone to cancel my membership . I have not lived in Edmonton since December, and my membership should andhave ended way before that. I am still getting billed and have sent multiple emails to try and rectify this. My payments stopped for a little while and then booted back up again . Again I have to make 4 different calls to try and get ahold of someone who can actually assist with this. I will change my review once this has finally been rectified for the 3rd time . Edit: Problem has been resolved. Rob was very professional and easy to deal with during this matter. We both came to terms on something fair for both parties. Contract was promptly cancelled and I was reimbursed for the overages charged. Mistakes happen and I am glad this was dealt with professionally.

Quite and clean location. Gets a bit busy around 4.30 - 5.30 pm. So you may have to wait a few minutes to change your clothes. Another issue is that there are only two Olympic barbells. Only request to the General Manager. Please provide a hex bar and a tricep bar. This location is missing just these two items and a few additional barbels to go from a 4/5 to a 5/5.

Membership comes with access to any of their facilities in the world. Huge upside for a relatively cheap gym membership. This specific anytime has three private bathrooms, two of them with showers. 5 or 6 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 2 steppers, full rack of free weights, two squat racks, and most machines. Small hardwood-floored room in the back too. Great location, ample free parking.

Great facilities, I often drop in here, they have towels and clean bathrooms most times, this is not staff fault or Anytime Fitness, unfortunately some patrons who come here, are not taught self respect and therefore make a mess in the bathrooms and leave weights lying around the gym after they don't wipe down machines and enter the gym floor with outside shoes on.

Avoid this gym as a home gym for anytime fitness. This location was great to use for 2+ years however is now under new unprofessional management. It took over 3 months of hounding and no help from the owner for weeks at a time to get a refund on a canceled year membership (before covid-19). The only reason he finally refunded was i managed to get a hold of parent company of anytime fitness and complained. This was after i had went 4 weeks without a response to multiple messages. I am lucky I did not urgently need the large sum of money i was owed like some people potentially would.

My favorite anytime fitness location in edmonton city because its by far the least crowded location. Considering anytime fitness are small sized gyms, it can be a real struggle if the gym is crowded. Worked out here for over a year. The new management is absolutely wonderful to deal with. Super super friendly. Bathrooms are clean and so is the equipment. Has all the basics stuff you need.

The gym itself is clean and has most of what you need. The staff were overall friendly as well. The few interactions I've had with the owner (or whoever answers the phone) have been fairly negative. He comes off as rude and abrupt over the phone. Didn't call back and differed my to the parent company for my issues which was even less help. The issue wasn't resolved until i got my credit card company involved then the parent company finally followed up with me. Never did hear back from this owner though. This issue is a few months old but never got around to leaving a review until now.

Private change rooms, overall a clean gym with a good atmosphere. No gym Bros or gym thotties running about. Staff changeover is immense though.

Great gym! Clean, bright, and has all the equipment you need for a good workout. In the almost 3 years of going there it is never so busy you can't get the equimpent you want. Had to cancel due to Covid making me build a home gym, and cancellation was quick and easy (no run around like I have experience at other gyms). Wouldn't hestitate to rejoin in the future.

First off, I pretty much never give anything a 5 star review. Anytime Fitness Allendale deserves no less. I've tried a couple other gyms and was very disappointed with my experiences. Anytime Fitness takes it to a whole different level. Community based gyms. Smaller and more personal. Still very well equipped, but tailored to your community. I feel like I have found my "home" for fitness. And a big shout-out to Grey, one of the main staff members at this location. Always a pleasure to deal with. Knowledgeable, professional and always a great attitude. Thank you, Grey. Keep up the fantastic work!

I asked to switch my account from "monthly to monthly" to "one year contract" in December, and one staff sent the email to change my account status in front of me in the gym. However, in February my account status still shows "monthly to monthly". It looks like anytime fitness is not as efficient as I expected. When I told them I wanted to cancel my membership with anytime fitness, one staff told me that I needed to pay outstanding fee which is cancellation fee, and I was told that I can still use one more month due to the cancellation fee payment. I am ok with that, so I paid. But then, couple days later, I received the email that said my last day is February 3rd, which already paid for the whole month. The staff is good indeed, but the owner's attitude is extremely rude.

I really enjoyed this gym. Clean facilities with a great variety of equipment. The washroom/bathrooms were always clean and towels were always stocked. I’m moving out of the region and my new neighbourhood doesn’t have an Anytime Fitness Gym otherwise I would have continued my membership but it does not. Overall for anyone in the region I would highly recommend.

Avoid this gym!! I once loved this gym but the management/owner is not responsive and has not refunded me owed money (seems to be a common problem based on recent reviews). I was charged hundreds of dollars with no notification. After spending weeks determining the cause of this, the owner admitted this was a mistake and partially refunded me my money and said he would send the remaining balance several times. I have yet to receive the money..it has been months. - Updated January 2021

After many members requested it, there’ll be an ab crunch machine, so you know your voice is heard in this gym. It’s a low traffic, private gym, and you’ll see a lot of regulars, but never need to wait for equipment. Private bathrooms, tanning services, and towel service are a deadly combination, and the classes and personal training options really help with accountability, if that’s an issue.

Any positive remarks I had towards this place went out the door, after I learned they sent my brothers account to collections. They had already been less then helpful when we were cancelling our memberships. As we were given the wrong email to cancel by one of their staff -yet it was still the Allendale email address- thus one would have thought they would at least respond to let us know we needed to send to a different email. A fact we found out after I realized they were still charging us a couple months later. I called, leaving messages on the phone but got no response. I emailed trying to find out why we were still being charged. But no one answered back. Eventually I did end up finding out where the cancelation emails were supposed to go to, so I emailed and explained the situation for myself and my brother. I was told it would be fixed and the memberships cancelled. Mine was. My brothers was not. But we didn't know that at the time. Then he got sent to collections. Even though we have an email showing conversation, where an associate requested he be removed off collections as it was a mistake by an employee. When I emailed trying to find out why he was sent to collections, they would not help me. Instead kept telling me to call collections to get it fixed. Even though I told them that my brother had tried to explain this to collections and even showed the emails, where they had requested he be removed. We had already spent too much time dealing with the cancelation of our memberships, which should have been an easy fix, with even a little customer service....so they get 1 star. But really it should be a 0 star review.

This Anytime location has probably the least professional staff and management I've ever encountered. I cancelled my membership in December to which I was not charged to my credit card for 3 MONTHS!!. Then in March and April i was charged on two different times of the month, two different amounts, this is just plain FRAUD. I've contacted management numerous times with lazy responses, careless attitude in terms of the seriousness of the situation. No replies to calls or texts and its just plain pathetic. Take your hard earned money elsewhere and teach them what customer service really means. I will never step foot in an Anytime fitness after this encounter. EDIT: New Owner of the store has contacted me and returned the money that I'm owed.
