Working with Jared at Ki Fitness is life changing. He helped me overcome chronic back pain through gentle strength and mobility movements that worked with my body. In the process I've learned, and continue to learn so much about my bodies physiology and how it should actually be working! Things improved quickly for me as soon as I started training with Jared. He provided ongoing support and adjustments towards more advanced movements that not only brought me back to a pain-free baseline, but helped me surpass my previous strength levels, which helped improve my overall athletic performance and quality of life. Jared really knows his stuff, has a keen eye for mobility issues, and makes you feel comfortable while providing encouragement and pushing your limits for improvement while staying safe from injury. He's a trainer that not only walks his talk, but you can tell he's truly passionate about his work and stoked to help people improve. I never thought I'd higher a trainer and I never thought I'd enjoy it! Now I'm hooked. Jared has helped me with my posture, correcting old stubborn injuries, and in gaining strength and endurance. Jared has a very comprehensive understanding of how the body works and is attentive to making sure you create the best possible habits while working out. He is great at creating workout programs to fit the individuals needs. With the right amount of patients and push, Jared knows how to challenge me in a supportive way. A year ago I decided it was time to get off the couch and do something for me. I looked on line and Ki Fitness seemed to beckon. I made an appointment to see Jared and right away I knew I wanted to train with him. I have felt at ease with him and he has only worked me to what he feels I can achieve, which is far more than I ever thought I could do. At the beginning of the year we had a 3 month challenge which was very good for learning to eat properly and maintain good habits. His knowledge about fitness and health is unbelievable!! I have worked with Jared for over 2 years to build strength, flexibility and endurance. I have a new appreciation for how and why I should care for my body and with Jared's guidance I have continually set goals and achieved them. After each milestone we plan a new set of goals that help build new capabilities (like a hand stand, one legged squat or series of pull-ups). We do a range of exercises using the TRX, bosu, stability ball, squat rack and free weights. Unlike many other trainers that seem to be out of shape, unprofessional or just bark out exercises for you to do without concern for how you are doing them, Jared is attentive, focused 100% on you and truly a master of his body - an excellent role model. Whether for only a few sessions, or long-term, I think Jared will be a real asset for you.

It's been a great pleasure working with Jared of Ki Fitness as my personal trainer for the last few months. Right off the bat I felt at ease with his friendly and encouraging approach, and am constantly impressed by his infinite wisdom and ability to explain the mechanics of the body. He is a great teacher, clearly is passionate about sharing his knowledge and guides you ever step of the way. For the last 10+ years I find myself ALWAYS challenged during physical activity and just daily tasks, like walking, sitting and sleeping due to constant nerve pain from many past sports injuries and accidents. Jared has taken all my concerns into consideration and built a growing and ever-changing program custom fit to my body that not only strengthens supportive small muscle groups but works 100% on re-correcting my posture with every move. I see and feel changes already that are getting me back to my ideal posturing, thus helping reduce shooting pains. He is even incorporating moves for how I sit at my desk at work. He not only uses weight and body training, but is incorporating the benefits of stretching and yoga into the mix. I am learning so much from every session while having loads of fun. Spending ridiculous amounts of dollars on numerous rehab therapies over the past years, I wish I would have worked with him sooner and used his techniques as my foundation. Jared's personal training has been worth every bit...and I hope to remain training with him over the years.

Where do I start. I first worked with Jared about 4 years ago and again in 2019 September. This time around we worked on my cardio and weight loss goals. He made a program that was tailored to my exact needs. He factored in my strengths weaknesses and previous injuries. Once we started working we had shared files that both of us has access to. This really helped me stay on track. Just a fair warning the program was not easy. It really kicked my butt. I was really motivated and kept pushing. I started seeing results from week 1. So far I am down 42lbs in 13 weeks. For anyone reading this its extremely important for you to understand that its a team effort. Jared can't do anything for you if you are not willing to put the time in. He is the catalyst but you have to be the reactionary change.

Hands down, Jared is the best. Best trainer and a super guy in general. And I've had a lot of trainers over the years, some I really liked, but none have been as encouraging and motivating and exciting as Jared. When I first came to see Jared, I had no ACL, I was gaining weight each month, I was depressed and I was giving up on my body. I told Jared, he was the last fight I had in me and asked if he could help. Now, I'm 23 pounds lighter and I've taken 18 inches off. 18 inches! I'm motivated, I'm healthy and I have a lot of fight in me now. The best part is, I didn't change much. Smoothies in the morning and more veggies maybe, but the rest was just a mental shift, one Jared really helped me with. I find myself quoting Jared and his simple approach to all things healthy all the time. He's the best man to have in your corner in your fight for a healthier and fitter lifestyle.

I met Jared through family that live in Comox, BC. They have been going to see him for a few years now, and you could see an immediate change from when they started. They became healthier, stronger and happier almost overnight. While stuck with my own fitness plateau, I found myself in a unique situation where I don’t actually live in BC, so I don’t have any opportunities to do one-on-one training unless booking time with him while I am there visiting. However, that hasn’t stopped Jared from taking time out of his schedule to help me out via email. He is extremely knowledgeable and educated. He takes his time to explain the methodology behind the exercises to you, instead of just instructions, which also makes him a great teacher. His workout plans are well thought out and balanced with your personal goals in mind. He has been an excellent resource of knowledge and inspiration to further my progress along in my fitness journey. I would recommend him to everyone if I could.

Jared is an incredible trainer! Not only does he have an absolute wealth of knowledge and experience, but he is patient and has a great sense of humour! When I started training with Jared I had some pretty serious injuries that stopped me from being able to partake in normal activity levels and I was in chronic pain. It took us a while to get there, but with his guidance and unrelenting problem solving mindset we were able to build my body back up so that I was completely functional and very rarely had any pain. I had lost my motivation for personal fitness due changes in my life including the major loss of my son. Jared’s attentive listening to ‘my story’ gave me both respect and hope to return to strengthening my body. The personal attention given in my training sessions was consistently encouraging and it was obvious he had a vast knowledge of his profession. I have been training with Jared for going on 4 years. I found Jared to be an attentive, compassionate, no slouch trainer, but not of the boot camp type and that suits me just fine ( although if anyone wanted that I am sure that can be done , but beware.... Jared is most aware of what the human body can do and the amount of energy that the exercises he assigns require. So if you want boot camp you will probably regret it and want to continue with regular training). And based on my experience with Jared the regular training is so well thought out and executed that the results soon will show and one's overall health dramatically increases. No need for anything extreme here. The premises are very enjoyable, with all the equipment required , always clean and bright. While I was a non believer at the start, no more than a few sessions with Jared made a believer of the old St Thomas that I am. I would recommend to anybody to train at KI Fitness at least twice a week.

No words can express the absolute amazing trainer, Sensei, person Jared is! The best decision I made was to start working out with Jared when I moved to the Comox Valley in 2012. While I continue with my workouts, I have also joined Karate. He has helped me both physically and mentally.
