Great gym for the price; However 1 squat rack is really not enough. It's one of the most important pieces of gym equipment, and is often used for longer periods of time per person than other pieces of equipment.

Good clean gym. I go for zone velocycle and their live audiofeed has stopped working for a week. All the other stations work. I've showed the staff the issue but it hasn't been addressed yet. Does econofitness listen to it's paying memebrs. I've paid all the way through the pandemic. Even when it was closed for 10 months.

For a budget gym, it gives more than what you paid for. Good equipment, a fair amount of free weights. However sanitation is left to be desired. Since it is cheap, can't complain too much. But, I fear because of that, if left unchecked things might go downhill. Maybe they could help hire someone just for sanitation.

Lots of new equipment so I rarely have to wait for an opening, even in busy times. A responsive and friendly staff has taken care of my needs and concerns over the last 3 months (Thanks Natasha!). The coin operated snack machines and showers are convenient. I just wish they had a coffee machine of some kind. My experience has been very positive and I've managed to meet my current fitness goals in this environment with ease. The service-to-cost ratio offers very good value.

The gym itself is very convenient for me, however, it always stinks in there and it's the only gym I've ever been in that doesn't use spray bottles to wipe down and DISINFECT the machines. Having a towel doesn't really do much other than spread the sweat from one person to another from machine to machine. No staff ever walks around to advise people that aren't using a towel to get one either. My only other complaint is the sheer amount of people that sit there on the machines or weights texting or talking to their friends about their plans for the weekend. It's getting to the point where staff might need to intervene. But seriously, get these damn spray bottles. Don't be cheap. I also have a pass for weekends at the same type of gym (exact same marketting and everything) Fit4Less, same passes, machines, same everything..... except they have spray bottles to clean the machines. Seriously, do it.

I have always been impressed by the value for money of this gym. It has a good variety of equipment and is mostly clean. It has handled its reopening well, with by appointments only entry and with good restructuring of the equipment to ensure proper physical distancing. However, I was VERY DISAPPOINTED today as I saw that it is NOT enforcing the wearing of face masks by its users. In fact, only about one in ten of the users were wearing face masks in the actual training area (as opposed to the entrance only). The employees who were walking around did not seem to have the mandate to enforce the rule, as they were aware of the situation, but did not react. I do hope that Econofitness CSL will correct the situation by enforcing proper face mask use to ensure the safety of its clients, and to comply with provincial law.

Honestly I have nothing to say. They are simply the best gym and the best econo in Montreal. They are suuuuper clean and the manger and staff are super friendly. I love the gym because it’s big and lots of machines. But the again I’m just so happy to train there because it’s super clean

One of the best places to train in town, it is very known for its competitive price on the market, i went there for a quick free session to try it, i wasn’t disappointed, good and well maintained equipment, very clean too. The only drawbacks are just that i find it a little small but that’s just my personal opinion, the toilets are inside the changing rooms and the heaviest dumbbells were 75 pounds. Other than that everything was great. There is even food and beverages for athletes to add that extra protein intake.

Ecofitnes, is it just me but why don't they have SANITIZERS to wipe down the machines after someone uses it? I worked for many years in hospitals so I would like to think that I am somewhat informed about health and safety practices and SIMPLY Wiping down a machine with a RAG" with NO disinfectant" is BEYOND useless and only spread more germs all over the surface of the machine. Am surprised that the city has not shut down these gyms yet. ZERO STARS! because having my fellow Canadians being exposed to germs that can have serious implications on their health is unacceptable. This is the kind of stuff I expect in developing countries and I Think it's about time health inspectors are made aware of this abomination masquerading as a gym.

Lots of equipment and open 24/7. Also since the Covid19 situation they now use a reservation system. This means that the gym is never over crowded. And by being a platinum member I can go into any of their gyms and there is one close to my house and another one close to where I work and I can also share my pass with family members when I don't go to the gym myself.

Nice place, not overly crowded and the wait time for the machines is acceptable if you don't go between 5 - 7pm during the week. Otherwise the place is clean and well maintained. The short hours don't allow me to go to the gym before work...there are much less machines comparing to Buzzfit, and there is only one sanitizing station for the whole place...I like the gym, but my biggest issue is the opening hours. Very friendly staff, super clean place, the equipment all works perfectly and feels like new, the 30 minute circuit is awesome if you're just not feeling a full on workout that day and want a bit of everything just to get that once-over. The other clients all seem very respectful too, and keep to themselves, which is nice considering how in other gyms there's usually a lot of "bro" types who will be loud, obnoxious, and needlessly hit on women. Also it seems that even if someone were to act like that, the staff would react swiftly to rectify it.

Removed a star because they don't take any action against people who don't bring separate shoes for the workout but bring snow and dirt from outside, to be spread around the gym. Ugh. Another star withdrawn for broken machines for an extended period of time & letting people change right next to the lockers. There are dedicated changing rooms people!! Last time there was this dude in his underwear having no problem at all changing into gym clothes, right next to the lockers and those stepping machines.

I've been going here for a couple months now. By and large, this is a pretty good gym experience. The machine's are good quality for the most part, though you might find the odd piece of equipment malfunctioning or out of order. I sometimes find loose screws that I need to tighten by hand to avoid malfunction. It can feel a bit packed sometimes (evenings 6-8pm) and you find yourself spending more time waiting or looking for equipment than actually working out. Outside of these hours though, it's pretty reasonable. There's a corner of the gym, and a subset of equipment, that's been more or less monopolized by calisthenic trainers that are there very regularly, often misusing or repurposing equipment to suit their specific workout routines which can often prove inconvenient. There should definitely be sanitation stations placed around the facility. Some spray, some paper towels. Let users clean the machines for you...ez win folks, make it happen. weights are always all over the place. There should be an employee constantly going around replacing equipment. I sometimes have to scour the gym looking for weights because calisthenic guys used it as a handstand platform or counterweights or what have you. Finally, you need to invest in a second fly machine. It's ALWAYS taken, it's one of your most popular machines. Please meet the demand. These are my complaints. There's a lot of good in this gym as well, hence the 3 stars.

My first visit was today after signing up for a platinum membership. Registration was very easy online and was able to workout within minutes. This location is very clean and spacious, lots of cardio equipment. I went around 11:30 on a Thursday morning, there weren’t a lot of people which was great. The only negatives would be not being able to disinfect the equipment, there are no spray bottles or paper except for the hydro bath area. I’ll be walking with my own wipes. I also find the placement of showers quite awkward, I guess the location is so that both men and women have access to them but they’re literally right next to the lockers. Not much privacy except for inside the stalls. I have yet to try the virtual classes but overall I’m satisfied with my membership and this location :-)

I don't understand the mask policy rules. How can the virus manifest itself when you are obligated to sanitized your hands at the main doors. It doesn't make sense no one can catch the virus on the cardio machines without a mask but others can catch it in the weight section area for which it's a few steps away. You DON’T get what you pay for - even as cheap as it is!! For 2 months, 4 treadmills have been broken and customers are just brushed off as to when they will be repaired. And now two more machines are unusable due to broken blinds letting in blinding sunlight. Pretty sad service.

Super! I recently change my subscription to this gym. I really think was the right thing to do. The price and the plans are more than worthy. The 30 minutes circuit is very good (just need to be change "repos" by "move to the next" to avoid confusion). Staff is super kind mostly. To share the subscription is the best feature. Great gym, spacious with lots of machines, and the staff is great! HOWEVER, the 3 stars are for the following: 1 - no cleaning wipes or spray bottle/paper towel to clean the machines. It's really not that much more expensive to supply. Every other gym has this. If you expect machines to be cleaned after every use, these things should be on hand. NO ONE is going to use their towel to wipe down the machines. That in itself is unsanitary. 2 - the women's bathroom is always a mess with toilet paper absolutely everywhere. 3 - This isn't against the gym, but weight room always packed with sweaty men. I mean it's great that the gym is packed, but damn, no room for the rest of us. It would be nice to have a women's section for weights. 4 - Again, not against the gym, but they have teens that come into the gym and monkey around. It's very annoying when you're trying to work out and they're in there just hanging out AND/OR taking up space on the machines just to sit on their phones.

Good gym for the price. A couple of things that could improve the gym greatly in my opinion: Leave rags with spray bottles with sanitizer around to clean benches and equipment. Too often have I gone home with a shirt that smells like someone else's BO. Pretty disgusting. Not enough squat racks or benches for barbell bench press. Too often have I had to wait for someone to finish a 40 minute squat routine. Otherwise I have no complaints. *EDIT* I appreciate the staff at Econofitness acknowledging my review, especially so quickly. I would also like to address one of the negative reviews stating that "having a needle depository in the bathroom shows that Econo encourages drug use". That statement is ridiculous. The needle depository is there because management recognizes the reality that some people do steroids. The depository protects everyone, especially the staff. Imagine you were changing a garbage and you got pricked with an HIV or Hepatitis infected needle? I totally support their decision to have the needle depository. They even have a sign saying they will ban anyone who is caught using drugs on the premise.

Spacious and conveniently located, can't go wrong for the price. Price is reflected in equipment as some quality of life things are missing. I.e. benches are not padded, I miss the bench press machines that lever forward from my other gym. My main issue is poor etiquette from gymgoers. Dumbells are left around or put in the wrong place so you gotta search for pairs, and some people leave barbells racked with weights stll on.

For $10 a month this is a great gym. Very clean, have a wide range of equipment and is never too busy. My only problem is the lack of just a free open space to do stretches, lunges and other excersises that just require space. The have a beautiful studio room that is reserved for "virtual training" basically a trainer on television teaching you zumba or kickboxing... no one uses it. When I tried to use that studio room to do some stretches the gemeral manager basically told me to get out in a very rude manner. I explained to her that the gym was busy as it was 530 pm and there was no room for me to perform my exercises and that I would only use a small corner of the room and that I have been using the room for the last 3 weeks with no problems. She responded and I quote "Well this is a manager talking to you so you have to do what I say. You signed a contract and you are breaking the rules, if you do not leave you will be breaking your contract and you can go to another gym". I understand your a manager but you can still talk to your members with respect and in a polite manner.

Les gens mettent le masque pour entrer puis l'enlève. Ce n'est pas pour rien que tout les gyms sont fermés !

Not the best gym. The place is filled with young-adults who don’t exercice, but socialize. Something should be done about that! Maybe have someone to break them up. Droves of teenagers dominating machines, weights, and complete areas of the gym. I had to wait an hour to use the bridge-machine. Also, the place doesn’t provide any disinfectant to wipe down the equipment, that’s unacceptable. Do better. The only reason I go is because you’re cheap but you nasty too. Bonjour/hi, This is regarding reopen: What are the sanitation procedures in your facilities? Before the closure members were asked to bring their own sanitizer to wipe the machines in all the Gatineau locations. Has this changed? Are there enough staff to wipe and disinfect the machines? Also, I’d like to know how you plant to enfonce social distancing and mask wearing.

BEFORE COVID-19: Their price is great and decent equipments. However, it's the least hygienic gym that I have been to in the last 15 years. Often no soap in washrooms, no ventilation system and small changing room. The machines and equipment are not cleaned often; you feel a sticky surface on everything you touch. There is no hand sanitizer and no paper towel/soap to wipe the machines clean after use. I cannot prove this, but I believe that I caught the flu twice form that gym - hence I stopped going to the gym during the coronavirus spread. AFTER COVID-19: they’ve refused to cancel my membership - hence deducting money from my account when I don’t go to the gym. No curtesy in their respond to their client. They based their response on a legal argument that I have signed a contract for a year. It’s a tough time for gyms and the general public and they should refund people with limitations/restrictions due to COVID-19.

We were told to try booking 15min ,30min before and now 1hour before , still having issues ..
