This Gym corresponds to the category of Gym.
No wifi though all the other locations provide free wifi and hope they will open 24/7 on weekends as well.
Great staff, polite patrons, plenty of parking
Awesome place to workout best staff
Brahms new club, great layout
Great staff and workout center
Amazing location with wonderful staff. Helpful and support is readily available whether you need it. You can be a marathon champion or someone trying to change their life. No judgements or hatred here
I have visited many Goodlife locations in Calgary and area (province-wide membership) and this one - while there are lots of other locations closer and more convenient to me - is probably my favorite. Clean, new, well-designed, not very crowded at peak times, well-equipped.
Ive been going here for the past year. Great friendly staff, super clean, lots of open space.
Decent gym with not bad equipment.
Best gym in Calgary
I leaned on the front counter for 10 minutes. They guy did not have time for me. I left. Rates are a mystery.
Good location nice to workout and actually have lots of choices on machines and new working machines positive staff nice and friendly nice to see compared to some other gyms .
Clean and great staff and classes! Big gym.
I noticed the new Goodlife opening up and decided to join. This gym was is leaps and bounds ahead of its competition. For starters you can wear your shoes into the change room and don't have to walk barefoot in mud and dirt. The change rooms are amazing and all the lockers are kept very clean. Even in the winter, when you often find that change rooms become dirty because of other people bringing their muddy shoes in. The good service extends to the wider gym. The machines are all kept in good shape and there is almost always someone cleaning the machines and maintaining them. The staff and management have been good as well. Deveda signed me up and also gave me a few free guest passes for my friends. I've had no issues getting guest passes for out of town visitors or others who might need to use a gym. Management is very friendly and actually take time to learn what your goals are and how to accomplish them. My only complaint is the free weights section could be larger, and the cardio machine could have television or something built in, but otherwise I am very happy with this gym.
I like that it is wide and spacious. They just don't have free wifi and I wish they offered Body Jam classes.
Great location, new and updated equipment. plenty of squat racks
Great staff, clean and new facility with lots of equipment and great classes. Aesthetically pleasing and beat childcare. Feels a bit like a club in the evening with all the young people coming to show off and hook up rather than work out.
One of the better Goodlife I've visited! Overall nice check-in staff, Towel services and well maintained/clean. Majority of times if an equipment is dmg, they're on top of it. Compared to other Goodlife, there is a slight difference in equipment selection but no big deal.
Trying to find out how much a monthly gym membership is. Couldn't find anything online with a direct answer. Went into a gym to find out and didn't get a direct answer either. Just a "it depends on the promotion." Didn't have any pamphlets and front counter didn't attempt to find anyone who could actually help.... Guess you have to be invited by the three day pass to get any information for comparing prices.
♡ I love coming here and working out ... it's a great place to just process and excersize ♡
locker rooms always have some sort of issue though whether it's broken lockers, maintenance closing the sauna, broken showers, etc.! otherwise it's a big space, great quantity and variety of machines/equipment, mostly a friendly crowd and attentive staff!
A good place to work out.
Decent size, and done up a little nicer than some of the other locations I’ve been to. But very busy as many of them are.
I’d give this place a full 5star rating, but they don’t have wifi which sucks. Gets super busy but if wifi was in place it would make waiting for people to finish their workouts for you to use the equipment next a whole lot easier.
Clean and organized
The staff are friendly and helpful, the facility's are always clean and well kept and they have lots of schedules posted around the gym so you know when the classes are.
Love it ????
This place is great. Equipment is well maintained and classes are fun.
Awesome experience. So many machines and equipment to choose from.
I love this gym..it has high ceilings and it has plenty of floor space.
Clean and equipment is maintained
Great gym! I actually feel excited to go there when I work out
Good service
Gorgeous GoodLife but it doesn't have Wi-Fi for it's users to stream music. What century is this? We pay so much for gym fees and there isn't Wi-Fi? Whats with that.
My gym and I love this place. Too busy at times, so I always recommend you either go early in the morning or after 7:00 PM. Never tend to visit between 2-6 PM, very crowded. The only thing that sucks about this gym is that it isn't 24/7. Good life is messing with everyone, its only 4 days a week 24/7... They shouldn't do that, it's cheating :)
Great gym. Lots of open space.
Amazing
well planned fitness club, nice trainer, good staff ready to help
Love my early morning workouts here, lots of equipment wish they had tanning though
I had a fantastic experience with this GoodLife location!!! I’ve tried a number of different gyms before like Repsol, YMCA and a trial membership with a different GoodLife location but this was the first time that I successfully had a well rounded good experience. Everything from customer service to personal training was above and beyond what I expected. Three months ago, I couldn’t even do 2 push ups. Today, I’m doing a conventional dead lift with 100lbs. I’m super thankful that I found this location and great team that provided me with a well rounded experience!!
My favorite gym *hands down*
Not my home gym, huge believer in the front staff! Left my wallet in the change room. Matt made sure that I got it back (even offered to stay a few minutes after closing in case I didn’t make it back before 11pm). ???? Open flowing machine layout. Happy to have found this location
Men's washrooms are always disgusting but I love this GoodLife location for spin.
The facilities are great but the sales people and contracts are horrible.
There trainers are terrible.they don't even know how to welcome new members& just try to be rude????????????????
Good, clean gym with equipment kept in good shape. Staff super friendly and change rooms are decent.
Great place and people
Great gym however there's some false advertising everywhere on the front as it is not a 24 hour gym. Please remove these signs if you aren't 24 hour.
Friendly and professional service! Thanks Deveda
It was my first time in this location and as well as to become a member Adam Lazarko was great guy who help us but the lady in the front desk was not really helpful and very unprofessional with her guest! I dont know exactly her name but i saw that it was on her tag " amber" she is not nice really, she dont even smiled when you approached her..
Good gym with helpful staff
Nice equipment. Friendly staff and its 24hrs
Reasonably priced, and a lot of good, new equipment. Love coming here
The staff are friendly and helpful.
New, modern facility with friendly staff. Need febreeze in the spin cycle room though.
My gym, half the time my home. This is the best location from my point of view!
No one other than staff is wearing masks
Awesome Gym with Fantastic Staff. Had my first opportunity to work out at the Sunridge GL location today. I was a nervous newbie and the gal at the front desk took time to tell me where to go and who to connect with for my class. She put me right at ease. The RPM instructor was amazing - she helped me set up my bike so I know how for next time and checked in with me after the class. 2 fantastic professional women! The gym itself is super clean, well lit and all around welcoming. Compared to the experience I had at the Northland location, it's hard to believe this is the same chain! Shows what a difference great leadership and excellent people can make! I highly recommend this location.
Friendly staff. Good trainers.
Well maintained Gym with great variety of equipments. Gym is quite big and you alway get equipments to workout even during the peak hour (with slight wait time). Overall, I am having a good time.
Great gym have yet to be when it's busy. Really clean and well maintained equipment.
Good gym
Clean and spacious great staff
New gym, nice and big
Good amount of space, not great parking lot snow removal
It's not very crowded in late evening but their 123 easy excercise, which they claim it takes 20 mins, it's actually 40-50 mins because you have to wait for the people who don't want to leave the machine while they chitchat or on phone..and staff over here supports it, when I asked them they made it like I was complaining. I am just asking for what you're advertising?.. so my point is it's not 20 mins. It's not 24/7 as well, which they advertise in big bold letters.. what's the need to lie? Customer service is great until they have sold their package and after it's just average.
Great location, very clean and welcoming environment. Equipment for all fitness goals. This is NOT a 24 hour gym, and they do not have tanning beds.
Fantastic
Would give 5 stars but it is a very high traffic area, usually come around 11pm to workout it is pretty quiet around that time.
please if you guys make an appointment with your future or possible client make it sure you guys will be on time to meet them, you guys gave the time to come on your facilities, so making me wait for 15 to 20mins.. it’s not a good sign of professionalism... regardless of what name i gave, such a waste of time!!!!
Bodycombat was full. Class studio has an awkward pole practically in the middle
Loved this GoodLife location in Calgary, definitely have the newest equipment in the city. Not only that the interior is nicely done and large, but the staff there is very friendly and keeps the change room very clean and organized.
Clean modern facility. New equopment and plenty of it.
I've gymed here.
Too busy sometimes
Excellent facilities and great location
Great gym, nice facility only when it's not too busy
Very Clean with a good selection of equipment.
Best Goodlife gym in Calgary. It’s the only one that seems clean, and has lots of space!
In my opinion the cleanest and nicest good life! Their classes are my fav, the instructors are enthusiastic and really motivates you!
Greta place to work out
Busy
Great gym! Only concern, 8am-8pm on Saturdays?, Its never open at 8 am! Wth?
A fairly new and clean facility. Staff is friendly and the equipment there is well maintained. Men's change room is clean. Overall great atmosphere.
Good selection of machines and free weights. Big gym.
Staffs not all but few on the access control were amazingly horrible on Oct 08/20 5pm to 6pm regarding mask policy. All of the members on the line up had mask except 3 gentleman who were easily given access without a mask in a great welcoming manner. Couple of days ago same staff was on a discussion with a member for not having a mask while making an entry. And i guess you guys have policy to have wear mask while making an entry/exit and on the close hallway to the changing rooms. I feel like if these safety measures doesn’t apply to the close people you know? If you wanna enforce your policies or follow the law in a proper manner then just do it, we are comfortable with that. You guys may have heard that few fitness center in Calgary had a covid breakout so better watch and ensure safety for everyone. Thank you.
Came here for trial membership. paid membership already online and waited for 25 minutes as no advisor was available to issue a card. Really worst client experience at this location
Better than my regular GoodLife on 16th Ave
This goodlife is great! Very spacious & well laid out. I enjoy the Turf Zone which most Goodlifes don't have in YYC
Love the high ceiling and better indoor air.
This gym is generally clean. It's not as crowded as other gyms I've been to. The only downside is that this Goodlife location is not a 24 hour one. It's only 24 hour Monday to Thursday.
Brand new spot. Best goodlife in Calgary.
Love this gym! The staff are so friendly!
Good gym. But can get busy really fast. The best gym in the city. Hands down
A great gym and the equipment is always up to date and clean
Gym is ok. The only goodlife around with no wifi.
Awesome staff!
I love coming to this place every morning for my workout. Matt up front is always a pleasure to talk to and he leaves a good, lasting impression for the gym in my mind. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the gym normally has a few broken prices of equipment or a faulty, dirty sauna and is slow to get it fixed.
Super clean, super friendly. Even at peak times there is space to do your thing! The classes are amazing as well. Body Combat with all instructors at this location is top notch. Love the green space with the giant mirrors and access to all sorts of free weights.
Despite putting a lock on my locker, my wallet was stolen from the facility. The staff confirmed it has been an ongoing issue at this branch. I suggest having mini lockers outside for valuables would be beneficial for the patrons or else I am either going to cancel my contract or go to a branch with minilockers.
ROOP! The magician, the myth, the legend. Making EVERY day, a good day!
Pretty good Cardiac program through Total Cardiology
Very clean facility. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The club has a great vibe when you come through the doors.
friendly and professional staff, they’re always greeting their clients. i still have to try their classes though as it looks fun. equipments can be an annoyance sometimes as some of them always have under repair note posted on them, but they hav’em fixed in days or a week. paper towels and spray bottles are conveniently placed everywhere same as their drinking fountains. pretty clean gym and washrooms, and there always seems to be a person cleaning the place all the time.
Best Goodlife in town... except the fact that it's always busy so theres no machines available.
Horrible staff!! Especially the white lady with glasses, horrible horrible customer service. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Great gym - decent size and clean locker rooms. Only criticism - Bathrooms could use a clean and the free weights section has very few benches.
Staff is well informed and friendly. The equipment is clean.
Very busy on all weeknights. The gym is kept clean with good equipment but there is almost NEVER any paper towels in the dispenser so sweat rarely gets wiped off the benches
I will give four stars for the club but five stars for the mobility specialist Ziggy. If you're old and have aching joints make sure you book one of these. It will change your life!
Pushy sales people. Quoted 2 different prices.
Great workout place.
Great Gym. Been going here for 3 months now and have enjoyed working out here. The gym is always clean and tidy! Thanks!
Newer facility. Amazing gym and spacious facility
$150 enrollment fees, even for returning members which is super disappointing. I would expect better customer service. And either $28 or $30 biweekly payments depending if you want access to just 1 or all locations. I highly reccomend checking out Pro Fitness Group if you are looking for a gym in the area, only $20 biweekly and no contract or ridiculous enrollment fee. All the same equipment and far less busy.
Everything you need!!
Good facility and equipment. Always packed though....if you go between 5 and 9 pm there is never any equipment available. Gym bros are everywhere. No wifi ...which is frankly shocking in this day and age Most annoying thing is that they have a giant "remove you shoes" sign at the door in the winter....yet all the bros wear their wet, dirty shoes into the locker room so that the floor is soaking wet with slush. Staff just watch them wander in and don't enforce anything. Its more a reflection on the clientele than the gym itself.
Best location in Calgary so far
I used to go to the Deerfoot location but I have become a regular client here since last year . The staff is very friendly and helpful especially Taylor who has gone above and beyond to provide great service which I think makes me want to come back here every time .
Clean and all the equipment works and is maintained.
My place to destress.
Love the setup of this gym but the fact it says 24 hours in giant letters on the side of it pisses me off because it's not 24 hours. Every holiday I gotta drive to the deerfoor goodlife. You can't get anyone to work weekend nights or holidays like every other place does? Update: this gym is going down hill. I have never been to any other gym that has the amount of broken equipment as this one.
Large. Clean. Lots of equipment.
I know all the workers and some of the regular customers
Its good had experienced.
Very often equipment clean and well maintained. Spacious.
Honestly, my experience with Goodlife in general is GREAT when I have my earplugs in. The equipment is generally clean (even though I clean it myself before and after use), most staff at all locations I have been to have been really nice and helpful, but this business with the "personal trainers" is NONSENSE! When I first signed up a year and a half ago at the Sunridge location, they phoned me 6 times a day trying to sign me up for personal training (and no, this is NOT an exaggeration!). I repeatedly ask them to remove my number. After a week of harassment, I finally blocked their number. Now I know that it's January, so the personal trainers are out on the prowl for newbies and resolution tacklers, but I just have to express how PISSED OFF I am at the "personal trainer" who approached me today while I was full sweat and 25 minutes into a 30 minute cardio session AFTER completing a 53 minute arm workout. She hops up onto the treadmill next to me looking at me to get my attention and I thought to myself, "This person is definitely interrupting me because the machine is smoking or the place is burning down." After reducing the speed to 4.0 in a panic, I take out my earphone just to hear her say, "How's your workout going?" SERIOUSLY? She couldn't wait until I was done, cleaning the machine, anything but IN THE MIDDLE OF WORKOUT! Goodlife! Get your act together! I love the facility, but the harassment from your personal training staff is a major problem! Unless they're working with a client on the floor, I don't feel that it's safe for them to be wandering the floor drumming up business and interrupting people in their workouts.
Clean, well maintained Fitness Centre. Lots of great machines and free weights available.
Busy location, gym is not 24/7 despite what the outdoor signage says, all television are set to sports only and it's ridiculous that there's STILL no wifi when all the other locations in the city do.
I belonged to another gym in Calgary and ended my membership several months ago due to several reasons but mainly the gym did not fit my standards. Once I heard a new GoodLife was opening near my place of employment, I was excited to join! From the beginning the staff have been great. I signed on with Deveda, who is always pleasant and professional while making you feel like a friend. The front desk staff always greet me pleasantly when I arrive and everyone is smiling! You can tell they love working there. There facility is huge and I have never had to wait to complete my workout. I signed up for personal training which will begin next week, and I am thrilled with the level of commitment they are showing towards my goals. I haven't had the chance to try the classes yet, but am eager to experience the variety that GoodLife offers. Keep up the good job everyone! You guys rock!
This location like most goodlifes lacks equipment cleaning. It's disgusting. Management for goodlife please fix this.
(Translated) No Wifi (Original) No Wifi
Very clean and lots of equipment. Busy though! May have to wait sometimes.
Amazing gym
Nicest one in Calgary right now
I asked Marry why the lights on the message chair were flashing and chair was not working, her answer was well they were all just working, didn't come over to look at the chair to see what was wrong.
Clean and bright!
Equipment is getting old not compatible with any of the new phones usually out of washed towels other than that it's a decent location
Good equipment, can get pretty busy. Employees are kind if u need help, always clean
unethical sales tactics used at Calgary sunridge location. I got trick into signing a contract without being notified. and still I had to payout for your missing leading tactics. Manger Patrick said sorry doesn't cut it. I want full refund what I had to payout 900 + taxes. I will not let this slide!! home office member experience what a joke !
Large turf space for functional workouts, more space in between workout areas than other goodlifes in the city. Larger lockers than other gyms. Lay out is good for entering and exiting the gym safely
Nice gym. Lots of equipment, space and very clean.
Great place to workout.fully equipped gym
They have everything you need exercise wise, its also usually not too busy which is nice. Staff is friendly and good friendly crowd. The only thing is sauna- you guys need a better maintenance guy for that. I know there are a lot of us regulars who absolutely love to have sauna session after workout but a lot of the times its not working.
Everybody is so nice
Staff here is awesome. Always welcoming. Love coming here for my workouts at lunchtime
Great service and great management/workers there. Dayna, Jenny and Rup are all great helpers and advisors to the gym. There is plenty of space at the gym and plenty of machines and weights for everyone to use. I could not express how good it feels to be back in the gym and have those three greet you and guide you with support. I enjoy this gym and will always be coming back to this good life fitness spot.
Joined for personal training 4 session and the first Session is just asking the goal, took weight and blood pressure. Not satisfied. They should at least start to work out. Not worth paying money. Another bad experience was my husband called them for gym membership enrollment and they said he can go and sign up on behalf of me and when I go for personal training I can sign. When I go there they don’t find out anything and front desk can’t enroll me I have to wait for the same person Adam that my husband talked to so waste of time. And need to go again while he is there.
Good staff clean and busy all good qualities of a good gym
By far the best facility of all the goodlife I have been to in the city, well lit, lots of natural light and high ceilings make for a nice atmosphere. Front staff are hit and miss, some are nice and will greet you, others could care less to even make eye contact. Biggest plus of this gym is the cleanliness, cleaning staff are always around and usually on top of everything. Rarely will supplies to wipe down equipment be unavailable. Kudos to them for their hard work!
No wifi but other than that this gym is very good and spacious.
Do not sign up for this gym if you want to improve your fitness. Their new procedures and systems are set up to make it more difficult to use the gym while you are paying higher prices for less convenience. Since covid 19, this gym has gone down the drain in quality. And the front desk staff are extremely rude, unprofessional, and use poor customer service. What a waste! There are many better gyms in Calgary, please go there instead.
Gym is always busy. Staff at the front have horrible customer service. You will be lucky to get even a “hi” out of them. Then one day something happened with my membership and the lady at the front said I couldn’t come in at all and I couldn’t workout today I said I would like to speak to a manager so she calls back within 2 seconds says it’s all good and I can come workout? Wat kind of customer service is that? There’s none there at all. Such bad attitude for such a easy job!!!
Huge gym
Newer gym. Lots of equipment. Awesome .
Love working out here lots of parking spot super clean but it's not 24/7.
I love this location, my favorite is Tuesday night zumba worth Lisa she totally rocks! The staff is really friendly and helpful, the jump group is great with my youngest son. Only down side, sometimes the equipment takes a bit to be repaired and it's not open 24 hours on the weekend. Love this location though.
Nice large facility. Clean. Friendly staff.
Staff are super friendly, clean gym. But the best part about this gym is their classes and instructors. So much fun, they really motivate you to get healthy together!
Great little gym. Excellent for stop in. I just don't think a eight yr old kid should be allowed out on the floor. Not safe for anyone especially him
Great classes not as friendly staff at front
Superb gym and my trainer is fantastic
Great life at good life
Super clean and friendly
Needs WiFi
Sunridge needs to open on long weekends even for less hours. Deerfoot gets way too crowded it's disgusting and it's not fair for usual memebers of sunridge. I will be thinking to switch different gym if sunridge won't stay open on long weekends. I was really depressing today (family day), I went to Deerfoot and had to return because it was packed.
Awesome
Great gym with a variety of equipment and weights, haven’t had to wait except for a bench during peak times after work. Clean, good layout and lots of space. Would love to see the addition of Wifi like other GoodLife locations!
I like working out here. Equipment is semi clean.the washrooms and shower are clean. But it can be hot inside and they are not open 24hours like they advertise.... These photos are taken at 7:30 in the morning
Rude Staff and they tend to turn off the lights 5 mins before closing which is very annoying especially while you're in the middle of changing. This Gym is also not 24/7. its only opened long hours during weekdays not weekends. they need to open long hours on the weekend. im considering switching gym because of this. but this gym is clean compare to deerfoot location
Food places and people
Usually very busy at the beginning of year. Lots of new members with new year resolutions. I wished it was 24/7 though.
Nice gym
Clean clean clean. They repair equipment quick and all staff are super friendly even at 4 in the morning. Would get 5 stars if they were open 24hrs like advertised but that's no fault of the great staff.
I visited Goodlife Sunridge to workout and had a quick question about a piece of equipment I was about to use. I asked a personal trainer and they completely ignored me. Also I find it very uncomfortable see needle depot bins in the men's changeroom. That doesn't seem very supportive of a healthy lifestyle when a 00gym is promoting drug use.
Good Gym with a lot of equipment, can get super busy though.
Cons- -Always busy.. always gotta wait until someone is done with a machine, bench, etc. (Constantly getting asked “how many reps you go yo.” -Crowded -Smells like stanky shieett protein in the washroom - Staff’s aight, seems like they just stand there. TIP- If you want to go when it’s not busy, either go really early or late. Pros- Big gym and tings
Garbage gym. Some employees are nice while others are just rude. Some trainers look and train people like they don't have the slightest clue about what they're doing. There is way too much wasted space 100 cardio machines that are only ever 1/3 full while there's only 6 benches in the free weight area that you will never get to use in peak times. I'm surprised the management isn't smart enough to see that as its right in front of their face on a daily basis
Hey GoodLife Management! I’m at your gym right now and am VERY IMPRESSED with your staff, the cleanliness, and the warnings that are everywhere. Thank you for ensuring we are all doing what we can to be safe when around fellow gym goers!
amazing staff, especially daveda. She is always giving me motivation to reach my goals! also love how its always very clean
Clean place, big open space, and nice staff.
Awsome
The boys there will take your pictures and stare at you as you work out or are in a class. It's the most uncomfortable thing and the workers do nothing about it.
Huge gym and lots of choices for weights and machines. I love the virtual fitness class options too
Good gym. Sometimes left under stocked and a little messy
I was new to Calgary and looking for a gym so decided to check out Goodlife Fitness Sunridge. I decided to sign up to try a membership since they said I would have a 10 day trial period where I could try out the gym and cancel if I changed my mind. They right away take your first payment when you sign up, therefore when I decided I did not want to pay into a 2 year membership I had to worry about trying to get my money back. I went back a day after work before the 10 days was up to cancel and I couldn’t be helped because apparently only 1 manager can cancel memberships and she was in a meeting. The next day I was able to meet with the manager to cancel my account. I asked her to cancel my membership and she tried to guilt trip me by saying “So you are just giving up on your fitness goals?” and when I said that I didn’t want to pay for a membership I may not use come summertime she tried to guilt me again by saying “Your health should be more important than money.” Apparently they need to write a reason for cancellation on the form and she asked me again why I was cancelling because “most people cancel their memberships for a good reason.” First off, I shouldn’t have to defend why I want to cancel a membership and second my money is a good enough reason for me to cancel. Now trying to get my money back was a whole new story, apparently my account was not updated in time and a second payment after I already cancelled was taken out of my account. I tried calling the manager at least a couple times a week, at the beginning we kept missing each other due to both being at work but near the end my phone calls were not being returned at all. I also left a couple of detailed messages with the counter staff when she was not in as to why I needed to be reimbursed for the second payment but did not get a reimbursement in my account or a phone call back. Finally, I was able to get through to the head office in Toronto and I had no problem getting my reimbursement. If I would have known it would have been easier going to head office then I would have called them directly to start rather than having to deal with the manager. I cancelled at the end of January and I finally got completely repaid last week. To say the least I was very unimpressed with the Customer Service at this location and I wish I listened to friends prior to trying out this gym who also had bad experiences with poor customer service at other GoodLife locations
Nice and clean. I'll avoid this location during social hour.
Why dont you guys have tanning at this location. Is there plans to eventually have it?
Does not live up to the expectations. Sauna is broken almost every 2nd day, showers are not clean. This morning the showers were running freezing cold water and it doesn’t help if it’s -30 degrees outside and you have to work right after. Looking to switch to a new gym.
Wicked friendly helpful staff Adam is very helpful I had Mindy and Carl I think it was for my personal trainer appointment and they were amazing and answered all my questions love this place Couldn’t find a way to post a second review I would like to point out how amazing this facility is and how friendly all the staff are they always wave at me and ask me how I’m doing and actually take an interest in what you have to say they always answer my questions and I’ve never had an issue once I have referred a fair few people here to do a sign with Danny and they have all had awesome things to say after ! He’s super friendly and always has a huge smile on his face. Also had my friend do her sign up here with the super peppy and happy and very sweet Deveda she was very thorough with everything and answer all my friends questions and promoting the facility very well she’s so welcoming to talk to she makes you feel comfortable I highly recommend coming to this facility the atmosphere and vibes from all the happy looking employees here are what make me want to keep coming to this facility even the staff I haven’t grabbed the names of I don’t have a bad thing to say about this place !
No wifi connection
Best gym
Great facility with plenty of equipment for the traffic. Wait time for machines/equipment is expected during peak hours but otherwise, no complaints.
Good service, gets busy, wipe downs not seem much.
Gym it self is good but it is definitely not open 24 hr a day, weekend 8am-8pm. It would be great if u Google a place and the hours r correct. Also the huge ass 24 Hr outside of the building is very misleading, I occasionally went to this location and assumed they were actually open 24 hrs except maybe holidays like every other gym that say 24 he.
Awsome gym in terms of environment and equipment. Lots of classes to choose from for all fitness levels! Management is always supportive and encouraging to the staff.
This gym is terrible, here is my list of reasonings. 1. Childcare. I have an 8 year old. They are hardly ever open. Not fridays, not sunday mornings, and another day during the week. My daughter said thwy treat her like a baby, and have nothing for her to do. She wanted to sit outside childcare and wait and play on her ipod and read a book and they wouldnt let her. 2. Not that I use them, but just from observing, their trainers are terrible. Just one example, I watched a trainer (i use this word lightly), teach a new client, who was overweight how to do a push up. The form he was having him use is waiting for a shoulder injury. He cleary couldnt do a push up, so instead of modifying the excerside, he just kept having him try. 3. This is superficial, but a lot of the people that work their cleary dont excercise. And not just feom a physical view, but when I asked the lady that showed me around the gym, where people would do cleans, she had no clue what those were and i had to explain them. The big one for me is the lack of childcarr. This gym is rediculous, all of the goodlifes are the wal-mart of the fitness industry, but this one is by far the worst. The gym is clean though, which it better be for being brand new.
Wow this is probably the worst GoodLife I have been to, the staff is just horrible! I just came by to pick up my key fob and waited in line for 5 minutes while the staff on the floor continued with their personal conversations. And I finally had to say can someone please help me. The staff member named Queen you should really learn how to perform customer service! Especially when you are working as one. Will never return to this location!!!
Lots of equipment for a seemingly small place.
One of the nicer locations of Goodlife. Most of it is in good repair and there is a lot of space. It can get rather busy but you can usually get your workout in without waiting too long for equipment
Love Goodlife! they are very accommodating and friendly. Deveda was extremely helpful when my cousin and i signed up. They are always there to help you out and answer any questions. It's nice to finally go to a good gym!
Good gym but crazy busy in evenings. Has all the necessary cardio machines and free weights.
Great location, I love that it is 24 hours. Staff are friendly and helpful. Adam Lazorko was a great help, I hadn't been to a gym in years and he made getting back into the swing of things easy.
Clean location, amazing staff and people there are always nice and help out
Love the staff, outstanding service
I am a Goodlife member via transfer from Gold's Gym since 1999 and I visit this location often to perform my workouts. I really appreciate the clean change rooms which in most clubs can be super nasty. The equipment is well maintained for the most part, the only exception was one situation a month ago where one machine was out of service for a considerable amount of time but it is now back in service. The staff seems to be friendly but I usually don't have anything to do with them. The gym is also clean and well maintained but this makes it attractive to a large audience which in turn, makes it very difficult to gain access to some of the equipment due to congestion. There are many personal trainers available in this gym however, their fee is quite high compared to others who offer higher quality and more personal training services. Look around, it's not hard to find. Further to that, I was told quite strongly when I joined this place that duffel bags were not allowed in the gym area but I have noticed several guys who bring their dirty and smelly bag with them to each workstation. Another extremely repulsive thing I have seen in this place was some sweaty dude washing his face in the water fountain and slopping his sweat all over the surfaces of the fountain. This was a hugely unacceptable act of disrespect for others and the worst part about it was that it happened with two staff members standing within 3 feet of the guy performing this repulsive act. They said and did absolutely nothing about it. Nor did they address the folks dragging their dirty gym bags to the workstations. I think the staff needs to police the rules that they communicate to the patrons a lot better without practicing dual standards and sending the wrong message to the members. Apart from these negatives, this gym is a good place to perform a workout.
Good place to train !
Been going here the last two weeks since I found out it opened. I've been to a few good life fitness gyms in the city and I have to say this one is my fav so far.
I love this gym and can't let just one employee judge for my experience. However, it cannot be helped that the time I go is always when this employee is working. Before hand to this Ivan was working so we had no problems. My first encounter was amazing for a towel, he proceeded to ask if I pay a towel fee which has never been mentioned to me before which he then checks my account. He tells me I do not pay this towel fee so I cannot get one. fast forward a month later I go to another GoodLife and I ask about said towel fee and they tell me I do pay it. Understandable people make mistakes. Second time coming in was with a new friend I wanted to get a trial for. We scan my card and he tells me that we need to come back during the day to get that. Understandable. Again I went to another GoodLife and discussed that encounter and the employee there tells me that my ultimate pass could've gotten him in for free. My third experience is when I was working out in the personal training area. Keep in mind it's 11:30 pm. He comes up to tell me and ONLY me that I cannot be working out in the personal training section whilst two other people are also working out here. I workout there ever since I've joined and had no problems. This employees name is Jay from what I was told. I'll give my formal complaint. However the gym is fantastic and every other employee is great!
The ladies who run the classes at this location are great! They are super motivating and know exactly what they are doing. Gerald the sales staff is also super pleasant and up beat! This would be a 5 star review other than the fact that it is very crowded and there is no wi-fi.
Very new nice and clean
I'd give this place a better rating if Grace at the front desk wasn't picky with who she would like to be nice to. I work in customer service as a career and hospitality is definitely not present every time I come to the gym and she's working. Other than that, trainers and other staff are pretty friendly. And the gym is kept clean regularly.
I actually love this place. I was scared I would be judged but the clients and the staff are kind. I go during the day to avoid the night rush Stephanie the blonde reception is always so friendly to us. Devada made it super easy to sign up . The child care girls are good to my daughter and even know her name unlike other places. And I love love love the pump and spin instructors.
Very nice gym
Usually the least busy goodlife
Very bright nice
I have struggled with my weight for years till I met ROBIN , he’s helping me achieve my goals , I started with him 2months ago & I dropped 2 sizes already . Every session with him is enjoyable , challenging & somehow fun .
1 month in and I like my personal training sessions to help manage chronic pain. I am looking forward to trying out some classes when I am strong enough. Nice gym machines, clean change rooms.
Great gym, clean facility! First time going and I loved the atmosphere and cleanliness!
Great gym and nice staff. Machines always available. Thanks ????
Really great gym. I love that it's bright and spacious and still looks brand new. Also the classes offered are all fantastic. I've been to quite a few Goodlife locations around the city but this one just stands out - the energy is just fun and upbeat!
Great gym to workout at. Works with my work schedule, clean with wide variety of equipment readily available. Great staff particularly Taylor at Sunridge, very professional and hardworking. Thanks for the motivations and acknowledging every member upon walking in.
Good location, great staff
Even at peak hours, it's easy to find the machines you need to use.
Great for people with a constant changing schedule
My favorite gym in Calgary. Staff are awesome!
Best Goodlife in Calgary. Love coming here for my workout.
Crowded, Full of Greasy Gym Bros, People Hog Equipment
I've been to many goodlifes and the equipment at this location is out dated and falling apart. overall organization of the facility is poor. all good equipment is located in the personal trainer section while outdated equipment is left for everyone else. Change rooms were decent. No parking at location from 5-6 insanely busy.
Great gym open most of the time except on pretty much every holiday
Most spacious and well thought out layout!
(Translated) Super nice and huge fitness with super staff (Original) Super schönes und riesen fitness mit super personal
Best instructors for group fitness. Hence the two star rating. Reception staff needs customer service training. They are more interested in chatting than working. There is massive mask non compliance. Great place to get covid I guess
VERY well maintained facility, good staff
Great staff, clean facility and lots of variety of machines. Only complaint is the water pressure is very low.
Very unprofessional and untrained staff at this location. Very disappointed from their service.
Lots of classes included in the price of membership. Pretty busy in the evenings. Decent sized washroom. Kids play area. Not 24 hours 7 days a week.
Good and nice place. For sure will be there again...
Always clean great place for a workout.
My favorite Goodlife in the city. Staff is so pleasant, friendly and accommodating. Place is big, so clean, a lot of new equipment and has green turf area. Don't even bother visiting the other locations, NE is where it is at :)
There are 14 TVs. ALL oriented to male viewers. Every day. You can ask to add neutral and/or lady channels, ie NOT Sports, cabinet making, Trump Tv, etc. They almost never change the selections. You always have to ask. No response. Please add some: talk shows, home decorating, etc. There are a lot of women at the gym. Not cooking. Not soaps. We live that.
Very clean, the staff is amazing and you can tell they care unlike almost every other goodlife I've been to. Very well managed.
Usually more crowded than I'm comfortable with
Gym is very clean, have no problems at all with the gym itself just that I wanted a 24hr gym and I was tricked into believing that it was one
I occasionally go to this location as I'm in the NE often for family and business. In terms of the size, layout, and equipment this is my favorite location in the entire city (I've been to quite a few). Depending on what you're used to the crowd at this location isn't the greatest but my biggest issue is no WiFi, it's 2019 and we pay more than enough for fees that WiFi should be standard at all locations. Only other thing I'd change is to have at least one more lifting platform.
This good life fitness location is always clean and well managed. The machine which are under service gets fixed faster than the other goodlife fitness locations. Staff and gym trainers are friendly. I've visited other goodlife locations as well, but this is definitely more clean and its my favourite location. The only thing this location lacks is complementary WIFI, other locations does provide or have Shaw open access near by.
Came to this GoodLife Fitness location for the first time since I'm visiting from out of time and it is spacious and has a lot of equipment available. There is parking available at the front of the building. I did find that no one follows the rules and regulations being mandated for COVID19 and the employees don't do anything about it either. Towel service is not available so there is no point of paying the highest level of membership available. Even though there is a lot of equipment available, you will find that you are waiting for machines, especially the Olympic weight platform and squat rack. People who work out at this location would spend over 30 minutes to do their set of 1 workout for they'll be away chatting with friends or on their phone.
Good gym good friends
Usually busy but has the only turf area in all of calgary
The staff is friendly. Machines are great, very clean, I like their madsage seats
like it due to 24 hr service
Spacious, great staff
Awsome gym very spacious, could clean their dumbbells better though.
Fun classes. But can smell better in the cardio section.
Don’t trust the sales staff, a bunch of liars. Front desk is not very welcoming either. Why would you want to join at this location? Why GoodLife?
24/7 really? If you want to come for cardio feel free because you ain't getting any other machine unless you come early morning... Well that doesn't last long either.
Called twice on different days to activate a membership. Staff (including the manager) said they would call me back but didn't on both occasions. Quite rude to make people wait around at the time you said you would call. I called the Deerfoot location and they booked an appt for me to come in on the same day and I activated that night. Both gyms are just as big and just as busy so I don't think the Sunridge staff have a valid reason for their poor customer service. I definitely will be going to the Deerfoot location moving forward.
Excellent! My first day of working out at GoodLife was spectacular. Good clean atmosphere that's what motivates me
30,000sqft gym with no EZ Bar Cable Attachment. They had one, but who knows where that went. I suspect the staff do not weight train at this location as, if they did, surely one person would recognize this attachment is non-existing. When they did have one, literally one, it would be always in use. Kindly reply to this review if you would like me to purchase a couple to donate to this gym - I will take one for the team...
They gave the wrong add then they treat me very bad, didn't like there customer service, there add was 30 day free trail but instead they said I have to join the membership to get free 30 days but on there add that was not explained, they should do what there add said but that was a trap first I thought should make a official complaint to authorities, about there shenanigans, but what's the point of getting free 30 days when you are not even welcome there , I am already a member of fit for less gym, I thought if I like I should give it try if I like I will switch, but they were so rude when I told them they should owner there add
Good facility. And good people!
Huge building. Great location
Love the facility but it is NOT a 24 hour gym like the sign suggests. Take the sign down or staff it for 24 hours....it's not like I showed up at 3am...it was 6:30 on a Saturday
Love how spacious and clean it is! Huge lockers, dry sauna, and bright showers! I love the amount of machines and space there are. Only thing I would change is if they were able to make it fully 24 hours. It is open 24 hours Monday to Thursday and closes Friday at 11pm. Weekends are 8am-8pm which is inconvenient because these are the only days I'm able to workout late at night.
Front staff are welcoming. Locker rooms clean. Plenty of machines to use and spacious gym .
Being a volunteer at the gym I can assure anyone reading reviews of a few things. First off, our JUMP child minding hours are posted on the website. We are open Monday trough Saturday with two time slots convieniently planned around our group fitness schedules. This allows our members to enjoy classes or general workout at their own leisure. Please visit the GoodLife website for the full schedule. Unfortunately it is a safety issue to have jr members out in the general area. Staff are unable to ensure their safety. Thankfully we have lots of space in the jump room where members are free to enjoy a book or tablet or any of the amazing toys. If anyone has any concerns or questions I strongly encourage calling the gym to talk to an associate or manager. We strive for excellence and want to ensure everyone has a positive experience. Everyone is very passionate about healthy living and the ladies in the child care absolutely love children of all ages.
Friendly staff. Clean, well lit.
Wonderful place to workout super clean
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Zero stars is not an option, and I wish it was. Went in this afternoon to check this place out, and see about a membership for both myself and 2 others in my family. The front desk person told me that I had to speak with a manager which I thought was strange, but I decided to wait. That was the last time anyone spoke to me. I waited around 25 minutes, and no one else payed me the time of day. There was a manager there who was speaking with a current member who was leaving the building, and after that member left, the manager walked right passed me and didnt even acknowledge me. It seemed like I was being avoided. The front desk person didn't bother speaking to me after the first time. I guess they don't need anymore customers. Is it because I'm not some attractive 20 year old? Who the hell knows - I had already wasted almost a half hour of my time that I'll never get back, so I left.
Great gym. I go to it everyday, has all the equipment you need with friendly staff that are always there to help. Do avoid it at the busy times (3-6), as it'll be extremely crowded and wait times for certain machines and the free weight area can be long.
I was going to get a membership here. I told the sales person that all I wanted as just a membership, no personal trainer... and that I don't like pushy sales people. She then proceed to try and push a personal trainer on me. I walked away. I get that sales are your job, but when I tell someone not to push something on me. I mean it...
Clean, equipment is usually available
I have been paying for a trainer for me and my daughter for over a year now. In September when my daughter did not want to come anymore and my trainer left I asked if I could change my plan for the last 4 months of my subscription. They said yes. I said if they couldn't I would just keep paying the same till it was up. It took 2 months to fix and then they said I owed $475 because I cancelled my daughters early. Also they charged me for my daughters subscription still. This is not what we agreed upon. It would've been cheaper to keep paying the same fee. The manger said he would take care of this. They sent me a final notice last month I talked to the manager again and he said don't worry. Today I got a collections notice that they have cancelled my membership and now I owe $1200. Even though they owe me money for when they where still charging me for my daughter when she wasnt going. Now I cant go and they owe me multiple sessions. So I'm not getting what I've owed and they have ruined my credit. Thanks goodlife you have changed my life for the worse. I signed up to feel better about myself and reduce my stress. you have done the exact opposite. Thank you to the management at sunridge goodlife fitness for all your help in correcting this head office error. I now owe no money and am continuing my training. I am very happy with the outcome.
Customer service is not that great. They are more into getting customer than maintaining good services. They are not very helpful when you need help
Staff are very nice and welcoming and it's usually always busy but there's enough equipment for everyone.
I signed up a contract thinking that this branch would open 24 hours 7 days a week but I realized that they are closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. So if store does not open 24/7 then I will be going back to gold gym. And I am pretty positive that tons other people dont like the idea that you guys are advertising as 24hours but closing in on weekend nights.
Nice
Really enjoyed the fitness classes.
Had such a great experience at sunridge goodlife! I was provided superior customer service from both Devida and Xuhhad. So much better then Westwinds goodlife who tried to rip us off and make us wait a whole month just to cancel a membership.
Personal trainer used men’s washroom urinal and did not wash his hands.
Nice clean place
Love it my new go to gym although it does not have wifi like my old one. New equipment and spacious ....
Clean gym
SO DISSAPOINTED. I Had my wallet stolen today from my locker..... The staff Informed me that someone told them I put my lock on their stuff so the staff CUT MY LOCK OFF and gave her full access to all of my things, WITHOUT ASKING FOR ANY PROOF!! This is absolutely TERRIBLE that the staff are willing to cut locks for anyone who asks.... The theft at this gym is getting so bad. I guess you never think its gonna happen to you, But I guess it does.
Good gym. Clean and I can use my membership at any Goodlife location. I travel for work so that is a total bonus.
Rip off. Poor customer service in the gym and the membership dept. Make sure that you pay attention to your credit card after you end the membership to make sure that it isn't continually charged.
Nice gym with good selection of equipment, always clean, good music, etc. but I find the lights a little too bright. This location also has a bit more douchiness than other gyms.
Rude staff including the managers who think they have the most important job in the world. May be calm down with your minimum wage worthless job and treat people with respect. Also GoodLife will scam you out of money. They tell everyone that this location is 24/7 but it’s actually not but I guess they have to lie to lure people in.
I had a family emergency where I had to fly back home for couple months and contacted the management through email and they got back to me 2 weeks later and I didn't receive any kind of help. I was constantly getting bounced back and forth between head office and the store and no one was willing to help. I emailed the management again and it's been more than 2 months and they still haven't got back to me. The cancellation fee is ridiculously high close to $300. customer service sucks, gym is always full and no room during peak hours.
I went last week to check out the facilities as I was wanting to get a gym membership and move from my current gym as it's no longer meeting my needs. I asked for a tour of the facilities as I know what it is that I am interested in and was needing to see if they offer what I am looking for. I was sat down and given a book on the owner of the company that details his rise to nothing to where he is now. I don't care. Next the sales man goes through a script a list of questions to see who you are, what you are about, where you came from, your goals, your dreams, your entire life story in the hopes of gaining your trust and building rappore with you. Frankly that is a waste of time as the reality of it is once they have signed you up they don't care. I'm a sales engineer and deal with multimillion dollar sales; I know what truly it means to be building rappore. Reading from a script and giving me fist pumps is not rappore. The facilities looks nice but the air circulation is extremely poor. You can smell the body odor in the building and it's stuffiness. The locker rooms scent was atrocious. There is definitely no air circulation and when I questioned this I was told they don't like to have air freshener scents as people might be allergic. It took me 2hrs to finally get a tour of the place which should of only taken me 30 minutes once you cut out their pressure scripted sales tactics. At the end he was trying to pressure me into signing a contract with them for 2 years. Obviously he didn't listen when I told him I am not making a decision today I only wanted to check out the facilities if it met my needs and I'll make a decision next week. I told him to call me back on Tuesday and as I'll have my decision then. He ended up telling me No I won't remember to call you back I'll be too busy. Great sales man there. So I ended up leaving and decided what I wanted to do next and actually went back on Sunday to sign up for a membership and to get one tour again with a different sales person. No one even bothered to help me out at the front counter. I waited for five minutes and no one cared to help me so I left. I liked the mixture of the facilities but it's just not worth it for me when as your front facing people that are representing the company don't even care themselves and just looking for an easy score in life for work and money. It's a shame as I ended up going to my second choice gym getting excellent service and was happy to sign a 2yr contract with personal training services that I wanted to do. There was no pressure and the difference was customer service that sold it for me. I would strongly recommend that people think twice about dealing with Goodlife Fitness.
Nice and clean. Helpful staff. Good equipment
Facility is good but Terrible customer service
I've been to about 6 different Goodlife Gyms in the city and this one is by far the best one in the city!
This gym is one of the best gyms I've gone to, it's huge and they have some really good equipment like a turf area with a sled push. The employees are really nice too especially Deveda, she was very helpful and nice and git me a good deal.
Nice clean place. Only has one true power lifting station need more of those.
