Alissa is an amazing inspiration, super knowledgeable about diet, and has helped me through a complex series of struggles and developments. I look forward to continuing my work with her!

I have been training with Cara since May of this year. Prior to meeting Cara, I was not training the same way I did before my knee injury. I had no control over my knee pain and I was not sure if it would ever go away. Early 2018, I found myself close to 15 lbs overweight. None of my jeans fit and I was incredibly frustrated. I thought it was time to start a much more intense workout. I decided to go back to kickboxing, something that I had not been doing since Fall 2016. Although the workout was great, the weight loss was not moving fast enough, and my knee injury limited a lot of what I could do. I realized I needed a personal trainer. I asked my friend about trainers and she pointed me to Kraken Training. There I met Josko and Cara! Cara has a wealth of knowledge which includes human kinetics. She has been the perfect fit because of her own experiences. She has been able to help me understand my own body. Now, I am doing things that I never thought I could do and my body has improved so much. I have better posture than I did before. I have lost about 10 lbs and my old jeans fit! The best part is that I have a lot more control over my knee pain, which is important for me because I sit at a desk at least 8 hours a day. For me, Cara is the light at the end of tunnel. If you are looking for an amazingly awesome female trainer, I suggest you look for Cara. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. She pays close attention to what you are doing. She does not get distracted. In your session, you can be sure that her focus is on you. Plus, she is funny, energetic, and we always have a good laugh every session. She pushes me when I do not want to push myself. I do not think there is much more you can ask for in a trainer.

Josko and the team are a great bunch of people. They genuienly care about you and your goals and make sure you achieve it in a sustainable way. I have never been so motivated! Everyday I learn something new, they make sure your knowledge on nutrition, posture, workouts, form, and mentality improves. I, insist you all to alteast have a conversation about your goals with the team here, you won't regret it. Trust me, it's hard to convince your wife; but I did it ;) She LOVES it too!

Great trainers offering a wide variety of classes from more CrossFit style to simple circuit training cardio, to heavy lifting. The music was good, the trainer constantly checked on everyone's form and made plenty of jokes while keeping everyone motivated

I was looking to improve my lifting technique and my research for an experienced trainer brought me to Kraken Fitness. They were very easy and pleasant to talk to on the phone, and they immediately understood what I was looking for. I am very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism, both Suzana and Josko have demonstrated in coaching me. I also appreciate the comprehensive assessment that was done during the first session. This was essential to identify the areas we had to work on. They have created the perfect space where you can focus on your goals and where you can get the best out of your workouts. Their gym is a boutique style one, very functional, well equipped and clean. The sessions are only on appointment, so you have the space (and trainer), pretty much all to yourself.

I've been on the fence of getting a trainer for over a year. I recently joined up with Kraken Training, and it's been the best decision I've made in a long time. I have already lost weight after a week working with them! I was matched up with trainer Anthony Chow. He's great, and has been helping me out, every step of the way. Showing up and training here is the highlight of my week. The atmosphere is great, all the trainers are friendly and everyone is so supportive at Kraken Training. I had previously been housebound from a chronic illness and needed help getting back into lifting again. Anthony helped me regain strength each week as my numbers keep increasing and I get stronger. He always checks in with me to make sure I'm being challenged, but that it's also within the limits of my chronic condition. I feel like my goals are understood and plans are made accordingly to achieve those goals. I owe it to Team Kraken for playing such a huge role in both my healing and progress.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about kraken training. The meal plans and recipes were very well laid out and super easy to follow. I was only doing the meal planning/weighting for 6 weeks and lost 24 pounds without exercise. Suzana and Josko are super positive and very good at keeping you accountable. My wife has been training with Josko and Cara for a while, she was getting noticeably stronger and healthier. I joined KT in July 2019 after my CFA exam. Over the course of a few months, Josko and Anthony continuously and patiently educated me on every single aspect of training in terms of how to squat, bench press and hip thrust correctly and how to train specific muscles from warm up to work out and to post-work out recovery. I noticed myself feeling stronger, leaner and got better shape. The personal training process and group classes are not easy and sometimes intensive to positively balance the pressure from my work. Josko, Anthony and Cara are definitely resourceful and they took the time to create great tailored workout plan for me and my wife. I highly recommend Kraken Training for you.

What I planned to achieve with them was to loose weight and gain strength but what I got was all of that plus boosted confidence, improvement in mental health and improved mobility! I was going through some hard stress full times and gained lot of weight but since I started with them I have lost 20 kgs over 4 months. I was looking for a personal trainer to hold me accountable and train properly without injuring my knees ( i have a knee condition that i need to be mindful of my movement and activities), then i came across Kraken training. It was the best decision i made to invest in my health and fitness. I started training with Suzi since November 2019 and she has been amazing support, variety trainings with knowledge and flexible to work around my busy schedule and work. Training with Brennan has to be one of the best things I have done for myself both mentally and physically. He listens and tries to understand what my goals and intentions are while at the same time providing insight into how we can make these things achievable. He puts a lot of thought into his programs and makes each session fun while never being repetitive. Throughout our time together Brennan has helped ease my immense gym anxiety as he makes you feel as if you are family. Even when I am feeling low in a session and not able to be my best self, Brennan will give me something to be proud of. He has pushed me to limits I have never thought I would be able to achieve on my own. I've been training with Cara for 4 months, and in that short amount of time I've already seen huge improvements in my strength and fitness levels - I've increased my lean body mass by about 10% and have so much more energy now. After having ACL reconstruction surgery on my knee, I was not only concerned about rebuilding my strength but also in finding a trainer who had a solid understanding of injury recovery and human kinetics. If you have any mild chronic back pain and posture problems, feeling weak overall, go and work with Josko. He can pinpoint every time what posture problems there are, which muscles are weak, and what stretch and exercise will solve it. At the time I was definitely out of shape and did not have much experience of any kind in fitness or weight training. Since I've started training, I've lost 8 lbs, hitting my goal weight 4 months in, and I feel stronger than ever. I have greater definition in my muscles, my body fat is visibly lower, and I have overall better body composition. I can fit in my high waist denim shorts again! I never thought weight lifting can be so fun and so rewarding; it has made a positive impact on my health, fitness, and life. After taking a hiatus from fitness I found myself with my old aches and pains plus a few new ones! I visited several gyms, viewing their machines and meeting with their personal trainers. My search took me to Kraken Training where I met coach Suzana. In six months, I’ve lost 15 pounds and added significant gains in muscle definition. My aches and pains are gone. Special thanks to the Kraken gym. For those of you looking for personal training, this is the place. New equipment, clean facility, ease of parking, and fitness and nutrition coaching that work. I cannot recommend their program enough. I'm already back to playing indoor tennis and ice hockey, and feeling stronger than ever.

I've been training with Josko since October 2017. A couple months before that, I re-herniated a disc in my lower back and was suffering from severe sciatica in my leg. This was severly impacting my sleep and caused pain on a daily basis when sitting in chairs and standing-up. I was referred to Josko by my physiotherapist who suggested that weight training would be beneficial for me in the long term to prevent a re-injury of my back. Josko is very focused on proper form during our sessions which is extremely important for me due to my previous back injury. When I started seeing Josko, I was skinny and he recommended that I go on a bulk to gain some weight. After 4 months of seeing Josko three times per week, my sciatica and lower back pain has completely gone away. I've also gained a lot of muscle and have significantly increased mobility. He's also helped me with nutrition to ensure I'm getting the right balance between carbs, protein, and fats. I really enjoy training with Josko. When I encounter issues during the session, he is quickly able to diagnose and find immediate solutions - either form corrections or new exercises. He's also very friendly and responsive to questions outside of my sessions. Josko don't apply a cookie-cutter approach to his sessions - he really works with you to prepare a program that will work and deliver results. I highly recommend Josko for anyone that is interested in personal training and weight-lifting with proper form. You won't regret it.

This is the best place to go if you want visible results! I did a fair bit of research on the type of trainer / program that I wanted and found that the "big 3" exercises (bench, squat, deadlift) were my best option. Much like many others, I was nervous to go into the gym and very fearful of being judged but felt this was a safer bet than joining a CrossFit gym where I would be running around the block with a medicine ball in my arms. The day I agreed to come in for a consultation, my life began to change. My trainer, Josko, asked me what I wanted to achieve, why I wanted to achieve it and how often I could commit. He gave me a mobility assessment, took some measurements, some pictures and together we agreed on a program. 6 months later I have gone from a size 34 waist to a size 31, my body fat has dropped considerably, I am more confident wearing tight fitting t-shirts and I feel like an unstoppable beast. In terms of the overall experience, I feel that the trainers here are all extremely passionate about what they do and it shows. These are not people who are playing on their cellphones while you are doing push ups on the floor. They are completely laser-beam focused on you, teaching you proper form, and encouraging you the whole time. It's extremely motivating and I leave each session feeling like a total beast! I cannot say enough about this place as it has truly transformed my self-image and attitude. These results did not only happen to me; there is a long list of men and women of all ages who are getting the same results (or better) than I did. I feel so fortunate to have found this place and strongly encourage others to do the same. I have been training with Brennan for awhile now, and I have never been more motivated nor as excited to work out since I started a program with him! I've always had trouble keeping up with my fitness goals and I already have enough anxiety coming into the gym. Josko has helped me with many injuries. Working in trades can get pretty taxing on your body, but Josko taught me how to work on my mobility to keep me injury free. We use self-massaging techniques and he showed me tons of stretches. I had pain in my shoulder for weeks and Josko fixed it with just a few exercises. I swear it was almost gone overnight. I joined Kraken Training in the middle of July to participate in their 6 week challenge. Over the course of 6 weeks, ,my trainer, Josko, continuously educated me on nutrition and proper form at the gym. Based on what he said, I noticed myself feeling stronger and becoming leaner. I used to feel exhausted and unmotivated at the end of my day, but now I find myself more alive and productive. The process was hard at times, but when you start seeing results, it helps push you to keep working towards your goal. I don’t think I could have reached my goal on my own. I've been training twice a week with Josko at Kraken training for close to 6 months now (as of July 2019) and it's been a fantastic experience. There's been obvious strength gains and improvement in physique, but an area I didn't consider was how much my posture and mobility have improved. What I find most impressive with the training with Josko is he will target your weak areas with a lot of foundation support tapping into not just using weight training, but also physio techniques to correct everything. The workouts are always challenging, but never too much for you to handle. He doe a good job of gauging how much you can do to keep you engaged and wanting to keep coming back to the gym.

Brennan is an amazing coach, teacher and athlete. I started pursuing strength sports almost two years ago, coming to the gym regularly and trying to learn how to get strong through online programs, second hand coaches, and instagram and I found a modicum of success. However, often times while I was training I would notice one of the PT's (Brennan Schebeck) at the gym lifting incredible amounts of weight and I would constantly think to myself "HOW?!". Over the next year I used Brennan's dedication and strength as inspiration and occasionally I would ask him questions and gain some insight on how to achieve what he was doing, and he was always happy to help where he could. After about a year and a half of getting fairly strong and even competing in my first Strongman event, the weight I was lifting was starting to get heavy and my form was starting to get sloppy. I knew something was going to have to change in my training if I wanted to avoid injury, so I finally asked Brennan to be my coach and teach me his ways. 6 months later and we've made some amazing progress together. Brennan has a wealth of knowledge and wisdom regarding strength sports, especially in regards to form and technique. Over the past few months he has managed to offer me countless cues and program specific workouts that have helped me correct my form in deadlifts, squats and bench and achieve some amazing results. I couldn't think of a better person to have as a coach as I take my first steps towards competing in Powerlifting come this summer and beyond. Thanks Coach.

I never thought I would be lifting heavy weights in the gym. Actually… I never imagined I would ever set foot into the gym. It wasn’t until my friend recommended her trainer that I decided to give it a go. Immediately, Josko made me feel comfortable; it can be nerve-wracking in new situations, especially with a new face, but Josko made me reassured from the beginning! Currently, we're focusing on getting strong and lifting heavy weights. He did several tests on me and confirmed that I was hyper mobile; I didn’t even know what hyper mobility was until he pointed it out! Thankfully, we focused a lot on stability exercises before we moved to heavy weights to make sure I wouldn’t get injured. I started training with Brandon through active rehab and with his background as a registered kinesiologist he corrected my dysfunctional movement patterns to optimally serve my rehabilitation process and help in the prevention of future injury and improve performance. He has ingrained in me the systematic principles of movement and how applying them into any athletic endeavor will allow me to become much stronger and safer during static and dynamic movements. After countless hours of reading about powerlifting, watching YouTube videos, and scrolling through Instagram posts, I decided that I wanted to train and eventually compete in a powerlifting meet. I had done some lifting in the past but stayed away from things like heavy squats and deadlifts which was unfortunate since those were 2 of the 3 lifts. What was a girl to do? I picked Kraken training because it was close to work, had a great social media presence with tons of good resources and proven results with lots of before and after photos. I finally worked up the courage to set up a phone call with Josko. He listened to my story and set me up with Alissa who was training for a competition herself. Week after week, she put the time in to figure out what was going on with my lifts and I steadily improved. She was always available via text if something felt weird after training. She is a genuine spirit who cares a lot about you and your progress. She's also really funny and helps you take the pressure off yourself to perform. After learning about macros counting from Alissa and the resources provided, I am down 12 pounds and several inches off all measured parts in just 12 weeks. I feel strong and confident enough to go into the gym and lift weights "like the guys". If my situation were different, I would definitely continue my training with Alissa at Kraken training. I arrived in Vancouver a bit more than a year ago. Always enjoyed doing exercises, but I think because of all the changes, I was struggling to do anything on the beginning – no motivation, no energy. Before I started training with Alissa I had already been going to the gym for a few years but hadn't seen much improvement. As soon as I started training with her, my strength, mobility and endurance improved drastically. I have a specific problem with my right ankle which prevented me from doing some exercises, but in recent months I can easily do any exercise and I barely notice the problem. Also, my running speed and endurance have never been better; I achieved my half-marathon PB this year. On top of everything, my posture has improved and my clothes fit much better now. I never did any deadlifts or squats or bench presses in my life, but just 7 months after I started training with Alissa, I am preparing for my first power lifting competition in October of this year, at the age of 53. I started going to Kraken Training circuit training classes in May 2018 after having a conversation with Arianne. At first, I was too intimidated to go because I have always used the machines at the gym and only some free weights. My first circuit trainer was Glenn. He demonstrated and instructed us the different steps. I tried my best and Glenn came to guide me with my form and motivated me. The other class members are positive and we push each other to do better each time. When I had a conflict with my schedule, I started going to Kadeem’s classes. He loved sharing life goal sayings and he taught us circuit training workouts that we can do at home too. Right now, I am attending Aaron’s classes! Working with Kraken Training has changed my life! Late last year, I was shopping around for a powerlifting coach to help me get started in the sport. Though I’m no stranger to the gym, my knowledge about health and fitness was lacking. I got minimal returns for my efforts and suffered one injury after another; I had extreme and unsustainable diets; and poor posture. I’ve always had reservations with working with a trainer. A few common reasons I told myself were “why pay so much money when I can just go on the internet and try the latest burn-fat in 90 days program” or “they don’t really care about my progress, these trainers just want my money”. I’m sure you’ve all felt something similar at some point about trainers. Nonetheless I decided to at least give it a try. Thanks to the power of social media, I stumbled upon Kraken training on Instagram. I was intrigued so I reached out to them and came in for a consultation. Josko put me through the standard movement test and I got some feedback about my form. I was open about the fact that I was still shopping around for coaches. After telling him this, instead of fluffing up his services, he actually recommended other coaches for me to check out. On top of that, he even gave me some links and resources to help me with corrective movements. I knew that Josko was someone who I could trust and genuinely cared about my success. However, because of circumstances, I didn’t end up choosing him at that time. But, that encounter left such a positive impression on me that I knew I wanted to work with him at some point. Then, almost a year later, on one fateful morning when I was feeling gross about my body because I had recently amassed over 10lbs of fat over the past few months and weighed my heaviest in years, Instagram once again came to my rescue and it flashes me the ad for Kraken Transformations 6-week challenge (it’s as if my iPhone knew exactly what I needed). I instantly signed up. Then, I got a call from Josko and a few days later we got right to work. It’s been 10 weeks since that morning and I am in the best shape of my life – physically and mentally.
