Amazing gym and staff!!
HOT YOGA! and Positive environment that will rival any motivational Youtuber! Being in the presence of Hardworking individuals will not only Motivate you but Change you Physically. In to Gainsville I go! Busy times are : 6 to 9 Monday to Friday.
HORRIBLE customer service. Employees are not knowledgeable and often rude. I visited the gym over ten times with an 18 year old guest who showed ID each time before an employee told us that guests must be 19+. This policy was not explained to me when I signed up for the membership. Facilities are nice and clean, classes are great, equipment is decent but if you require any type of customer service, good luck.
Pretty bad experience during COVID times. Bad hours (time blocks), bad policies and too busy to use the equipment you want.
Good equipment, good staff.
Really good place to work out. My friend has a membership and allows one buddy to join. Big area and a lot of machines. Only downfall is that it's a bit pricey.
Clean, spacious, well maintained equipment, good classes, schedules, variety and availability. Best thing: low pressure from sales staff; felt informed rather than hounded.
Quite a traumatizing experience here... My mistake started when I signed up for personal training—I didn’t want to because of how expensive it was, but I was pushed along with the promise that “a new policy is coming in 2 months that will let any member cancel their training with a full refund!” Voila. So I signed up with this. After a couple of months, my finances were draining, and my expenses were mounting. I went to goodlife, but they told me the new policy is delayed. “Next month!”. I hung on. Next month came, and nope...”next month!” Finally, another month or two rolls by and I’m in extreme debt—and I had to leave the country on family emergency. I approached Goodlife again and said I need this cancelled and refunded right away because they promised me it before I signed up...they didn’t help. I suffered until the end of the year. Close to $500 every 2 weeks was being taken out automatically and I was in negative numbers at my bank. I was so depressed that I wasn’t even attending these training sessions... I finally wrote a letter to them—then they decided to finally respond and do something so I wouldn’t take further action...they stopped the automatic robbing of my chequing account...and over the thousands they took from me, 2 weeks later they called and left a message that my refund was ready for pick up in the amount of about $100. I just stopped. I didn’t even go there for that measly sum out of the thousands they took from me when they told me that wouldn’t be the case to get me to sign up. I’ve even thought of suing. We will see. Stay Away.
Clean and a great assortment of equipment for people at all fitness levels. All I wish is you can use the trainers on an as need basis and not be tied into their plans
I've been training with Paolo for almost a year, working with him to reach my fitness goals has been excellent. The environment has been awesome and pushes me to strive to work even harder. Paolo has built a strong connection with me and I look forward to our weekly training sessions.
Love this gym!
I tried to cancel my account for medical reasons. My account was left open after a hold and request for cancellation was ignored. My request for a refund on the 11 payments they extracted from my bank account for 0 visits to the club since the hold was met with statement of 'their policy' and they requested a doctor's note to explain that I still couldn't work out in order to get a refund for something I didn't want but had forced on me by negligent service. The woman at the desk was aloof, abrasive and rude. The AGM never responded to my emails. I had to call their complaints department via Better Business Bureau to get even a partial refund. Thanks, Goodlife North Road. I haven't been so pissed off in a long time.
This place is unprofessional and lost worst work out place and it's pack all the time. They are spreading covid-19
I've been here a couple of months now and really appreciate the equipment, amenities, and friendliness of the staff. I've got to give a shout-out to Francine... she is always there in the morning to greet me by name and help with anything I need.
Spacious!
I love Goodlife fitness for the fact that they are 24 hours and the reasonable pricing. However, I find myself disappointed as the north gate location sometimes changes the hours to close earlier on non-statutory days
Love that it's 24 hours
Clean facilities, friendly staff, excellent gym!
Long term gym member- when I decided to cancel my membership I was told I had to set up an appointment to cancel. Many paid weeks later I finally got one, spent 2 hours waiting and talking about my cancellation, and performing an exit interview.
Equipment never fixed or updated. The same maintenance sign on the abdominal crunch has been on for the last month. "Will be updated shortly" takes them a year. Plus the Asian girl behind counter is rude, never a hello or goodbye, just keep chatting away with her friends and I literally have to wait minutes to get buzzed into the door. Same girl, many times
Really nice gym with free underground parking. Gym itself is pretty big. I train at the busiest times and if I have to wait for something (which rarely happens), I don't wait long. Staff is nice too
Great place for working out. It has a great selection of free weights and machines. And has a excellent fake turf area for doing nonstandard workouts (kettlebells, etc.). One down side: The free weights only go up to 100 lbs. And Kettlebells only go up to 34 kg.
Huge gym, tons of equipment, nice change rooms, lots of space, flexible class schedules
Excellent 24hrs facility
I can only give the facility 2 stars as well because like the other guy said, there are sooo many rude people not following gym etiquette; weights barbells bags etc everywhere, hogging equipment they aren't using. Its very strange. The staff do not enforce the gym etiquette here. I actually use to work at goodlife and i can see the staff aren't doing their job; perhaps they're overworked and short staffed who knows. Its really such a shame because the facility itself is beautiful and sprawling. I will absolutely not be renewing my membership when my membership runs out. Its so easy to do workouts at home and my husband and i are investing in our own equipment so that we don't have to deal with rude people or incompetent staff.
I started with $18/months when it was just open, and then found that it was nice if I can bring in a guest by upgrading to the privilege plan which costs $50 more per month. It is not worth it paying the extra money if you don't bring in a guest each time. I regretted the upgrade as there is no way to downgrade back to the promotional plan. I was so upset since they started checking the guest's ID and ask the guest to sign on a sheet which even asks for personal phone info to be filled out. The sheet is always on the front counter. I'm wondering if anyone is worried about their personal information is leaking like me. I end up with cancelling my membership. The environment of this gym is good. But it is not as good as before as more members flooded in one year after the opening. It is good to have a women only section which has easy access to shower and washroom. That's the best part of this gym.
I love that they have a woman's only section. The bathrooms/change room is nice and spacious. They have a super easy to use app for booking a time slot to workout. The covid procedure seems to be working great.
First day they told me It’s open 24/7 but it’s not and I’m not satisfied AT ALL
Best gym in tri cities hands down
I’ve been to many gyms in the Burnaby area and good life is by far my favourite. They have all the equipment needed and amazing staff. To be honest, I used to bash the women’s section before realizing it is the best one within miles of this …
Customer service is the best, so friendly and nice people! Hot yoga is good, price is reasonable :)
They really have it all, great price. I can’t say much more. Oy, the place is. A great place to hang out.
Good atmosphere, good/new equipment. Friendly staff. They gave out to many subscriptions at the moment so there's a wait sometimes when you come in.
The best gym ever with tan rooms, classes, so big area to train plus they very professional personal trainers, practicing now with Lioyd one of the best of them, planning to continue training with him
Best place to be
Excellent equipment, great staff and great hours!
Clean and new equipment, super friendly staff. This location beats the Surrey location on all counts.
Great gym. Staff are all friendly (not sure why others are complaining). This location is spacious, has plenty of cardio machines (all with live TV), and the change rooms are clean and big. They brought the Toronto GoodLife experience to BC. I would recommend this gym if you don't want to over pay, and still get a great gym... oh ya its 24 hours too, 7 days a week - huge bonus!
The front desk is rude (Frances specifically). I did a drop in. Frances had a line up of people at the door. She asked me to be earlier next time because she has a line up of people at this time. Well, it is something! You are short of staff and I have to come earlier. Then she asked to wait and be patient. Well, if I don't have a membership it is not a reason to be rude. Overall, Frances don't be rude and mean. You are at the front desk and should smile and be polite to people. I came to relax and you spoiled all my mood. Well, it is a lot of other good centres I can go!
Very good! !!
My go to place at 3am, burnaby is closer to my place but this one is more cleaned and organized.
Solid gym, everything you could possibly need for weight training. Staff is always friendly and they're typically fast at fixing any broken equipment. Can get busy at peak hours but It's predictable so you can avoid it depending on your schedule. Coming from club 16 I would say that this gym is worth the extra few bucks a month. Plus you can't beat the 24/7 availability.
Good gym. Go see Matt Slack as your personal trainer if you wanna get serious bout your goals
Best GoodLife I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to them around Canada!
24/7 gym, great atmosphere.
Big, bright gym with lots of equipment - solid offering of free weights. Knowledgeable staff and trainers. 24/7 operations which is nice if you want to go super early or late. Been a member for 1 1/2 years and will definitely keep coming back.
Limited parking and quite busy in the evening. Staff could be a bit more welcoming to new members like myself
Good gym as long as you avoid the busy times.
Great atmosphere and location.
Not bad
My legal status in Canada is expiring in three months, please let me cancel my Personal Training!!!! I can never meet the manager because he only works on weekdays. I guess I have talk to the news or something to warn all international students about signing up here. This gives me so much headache. I can’t sleep at night.
The staff and trainers etc are awesome
Good service. Has a decent hot yoga studio but the classes can be very hard to get into all the other classes are less crowded. Free weights are often busy but ample weight and cardio machines.
The staff is friendly and seem to know what they're doing. The staff does not clean at all and neither do any of their patrons. People just leave their sweat covered benches when they're done with them. It's the first goodlife where I've ever seen behavior like this. I've even watched trainers with their clients leave sweat covered benches without cleaning.
Gobbadegook e-mails
Great staff. Super friendly.
My overall experience is good. I like going there every day. Everyone behaves really well there. I lost couple of things and found it there. I think overall the service and everything is quite great. Every time, I go there I feel nice. Staffs are very friendly. Most of the trainers are doing a good job there. On the other hand, whenever an equipment or sth related your workout doesn’t function properly, you need to get it fixed within a short period of time coz so many people are using it. But, it takes them around 15 days to 30days to fix that machine/equipment. However, I’d say that it’s very rare to see few machines are not working properly. So, you are most likely going to have a good experience. But I gotta say that if there’s a problem, you gotta fix that ASAP. Anyway, I think I can recommend this gym for everyone since my overall experience is good. I’m still going there 6days a week.
Pretty good gym, staff helped quickly even though it was busy, and lots of equipment so you dont wait long
I had work out in this gym on north road &, so I wasn't able to pay for the gym they cancelled my account with them after few months I called them if can return to gym they said I have to pay over 100$ I'm forget how much. So here I would like to say is that fair.
Decent gym
Everything you need
Good gym overall. Spacious and air conditioned. Only issue I see is with the maintenance of equipments as it's common to have equipments out of service for days, weeks or months at a time. They blame the lack of parts and shipment of the parts from the equipment suppliers but after speaking with the a person who works there and is a friend he blames the lack of maintenance staff. For this reason I'm giving 3 stars rather then 4.
Good setup and clean, but can be very crowded in the evening
Boyfriend bought me here for the first time to try out the gym. He told me it was really good. All the equipments were occupied, so we went to the personal training area and it was empty. The fitness manager, Jake, told us we had to leave because it was for personal training only. But my boyfriend told them the general manager told him that as long as there was no trainer using the area, members were allowed to use the machines. But he still kicked my boyfriend and I out. He was very rude to us, and he had no customer service. Thought about signing up, nahhh, NEVER GOING BACK!
Good life wants $149 upfront for me to DOWNGRADE my membership. That is INSANE! I’ve been a member for 8 years! I’ve paid plenty into this place. Total money grab. SHAMELESS.
The gym is fine. Comparable to Steve Nash etc... Quite large and lots of equipment. Dunno about service it doesn't really matter as one doesn't interact with the staff apart from hi and bi.
Great place to get in shape.
Worst service at this gym ever seen. Front desk staff rude and uncaring. Staff and managers just only care about money coming in but no their customers.
Great gym. Lots of room and good selection of equipment. Has some mileage but well maintained.
Good muscles
Lovely people and enough machines during the crowed times
Nyc gym
Exercise
I love this gym. It's a great size and the women's only section is big too. I go before work and for once DO NOT have to bring shampoo, a towel, hair dryer, moisturizer or a straightener because it's all there for your use. Definitely lightens the gym bag load! I've had good experiences with most of the staff there, only one time I had someone super dismissive. Mimi or Momo, I think Momo. I had concerns about maintenance that had gone undone for weeks and she super super rude about it. It's the only time I've considered finding a new gym.
Awesome gym.
You should just pay more to people who work overnight shift and I'm sure there would be someone happy to work the shift... it isn't a easy shift but if you advertise that the gym is open 247 then you need to commit to it at any cost. The …
Extremely unclean facility, mold in the showers and in the change rooms. I've only had bad for experiences here with constant misinformation from different employees leading to a waste of time and $. I will not be coming back.
No idea where these ratings come from lol, the gym is great and the price is better.
Very large space with lots of machines, free weights, dedicated personal training area, hot yoga room, spin room, large studio for acclaimed Les Mills classes, daycare, women's only fitness area, and massage chairs.
Most expensive price and customer service is poor.
One word: busy. Busy to the point of being unusable. Like, we're talking zero breathing room busy. But, if you're ok modifying your workout on the go, it's a great, clean gym in a nice location and with plenty of natural light and chill people.
Too crowded to work out
Very frustrated to get bad behaviour from an employee of this fitness center in Northgate! That employee fully mislead me and gave wrong information which destroyed my one day!! Won't recommend at all!
There is no manager and so no one cares. Its sad... the new lights are so bright they are offensive and they have completely ruined the ambiance in the spin studio by inserting a super bright light that won't turn off.
Best gym in town. So big and spacious with all the machines you can think of. Plus it's open 24/7.
First time I came there on Tuesday for tanning drop in. I was told I just need to fill papers before every session if I have no membership. Ok. Next time I came on Saturday. Two guys on service desk refused me of drop in and offered to apply for membership, which actually I don't need. When I replied with what I was told last visit guys sad that it's not true and no drop ins to tanning facility. Moreover, I know, my language proficiency isn't so high and those men emphasized it speaking so fast and quiet. So they easily made me feel like I'm full idiot. Thanks, jerks. It was Feb12, 16. And membership for a year... That's greed guys, that's greed.
Very bad management
This place has everything, excellent service excellent facilities
Justin has the worst customer service. He should get fired.
By far the best group exercise classes in town. If you can take any class on the schedule get to one with Kendall. She is an absolute rockstar. This place has everything you need to get you to your fitness goal
Never had a problem here. You can bring someone with you for free EVERY time you work out, it’s awesome.($50/month) to access any location in BC. Seem to have a good selection of classes, it’s too bad the sovereign location doesn’t have more morning classes, but this location picks up their slack!
My favourite zem I like location
Pre-COVID it used to be 24 hour gym and reduced hours on holidays, now it’s not 24 hours and closed holidays. Still 5 stars because it’s a great gym but hoping the hours go back to before so I don’t have to pay $20 drop in at a gym that is open on holidays when I have a full time membership here
Everything is good. Please open the space for 24/7. Hire more people. I believe there is people okay to work at nigh shift.
Be very careful with signing their contract. Manager and district manger will not refund you anything until the lawyer getting involved even when they are at fault. Please make sure you try minimal first on their personal training programs. Other than that. Gym itself is good. Machines are new. Again manager is too greedy for the money, be careful signing the contract.
Fantastic and clean facilities
Dear Sarah, It's unfortunate that you failed to write the truth about your experience at Goodlife and with me. You neglected to mention that "recording" your workouts meant that you were actually filming them on your camera phone which goes completely against our member rules and etiquette, and you are also in breach of your membership. After politely asking you to stop filming the first time, you completely ignored my request. You continued to film and slam weights on several occasions (even after you asked my husband to step out of the way of your camera!) and I know for a fact that several other members and employees also had issues with you because they brought it to my attention. Sarah, our RPM group fitness instructor asked you politely to stop dropping the barbell (from waist high) as it was interrupting her class beside you when all the members continued to turn and look at you repeatedly. This was extremely loud and you were well aware of how it was disturbing other members. You just shrugged this off and didn't seem to care about how this was affecting others around you. Leila, our administrator also had a chat with you where she tried to explain the proper rules (all gyms are the same) but you didn't seem interested in hearing about it. You also said that when you signed up, the Fitness Advisor told you it was okay to film but when Leila asked who that advisor was, you couldn't give a name even though it is written on your contract. Simon, our manager is well aware of the situation and I can tell you this....after six years with Goodlife, never ONCE have I had a complaint against me. I know our rules and etiquette of the gym and slamming weights and filming are not part of them or any other gym. Since you claim to be a "powerlifter" perhaps it's a blessing that you found another gym which specializes in powerlifting as Goodlife certainly doesn't fit your criteria. Good luck in your new gym. *Rachel....thank you for a refreshing review! We are working on connecting to wifi and should hopefully have it by the time you come back.
????????
So there is a trainer here that she think she and her trainee can use for equipment at them same time together for more than 30 minutes and don't let others use it.
Absolutely amazing gym...by far worth the money each month. The trainers are superb and will work with you to develop in ways that work towards your sport or goals. I have had the same trainer for 3 years plus and he has seen me through thick and thin. No matter what, the workouts were always geared towards what I could do....they were challenging...and I always come away having laughed, worked hard and with a feeling of success. Some days, as I fought Lyme disease, the workouts were super easy...no worries. It was what I could do that day. I do a number of sports like indoor rowing, triathlon, spin cycling, running, indoor rock climbing and open water swimming. The workouts help me in ALL disciplines. And for me, the trainers and the staff at this Goodlife feel like family. It's my 'go to place'....feel 100% supported here.
Good gym. Came here after going to Club 16/She’s Fit and it’s 100x better. It’s more expensive but worth it
Large space with wide variety of machines. Wish they had a few more squat racks
Best gym I've been to yet. Cancelled my Steve Nash Fitness World membership to go here. Great staff, lots of machines, and very big. Super happy to go here.
Good classes
Love this place its a great clean environment!
Only been working out here a month and there have already been 3 less than ideal situations: pipes burst so no morning showers before work for the better part of a week, hours reduced due to staffing issues, and then this morning the person …
Poor equipment placement. Large dedicated Personal Trainer area reserved for Personal Trainer sessions only. Sauna and Steam room only work 50% of the time.
Meets all my needs.
Excellent facilities
I moved here from Toronto and am pretty disappointed that there are only 2 locations in the greater Vancouver area. Overall, this location is not a bad place if you can catch an off peak time. Otherwise, like most gyms, the equipment (excluding cardio) is a bit cramped and poorly laid out which makes it feel cramped with only a few people around. I can't even imagine what peak times look like at this place and I won't dare go in anywhere near those times. The free weight area is definitely cramped! I didn't realize just how nice my old location was by comparison.
Rude customer service!
great gym, great people.
I had the worst experience at GoodLife Fitness. I used to work out there and one day my wife and I had to move far from this location. Then I asked the desk guy to cancel my membership. 7 Months later they are charging us again. It looks like he didn't cancel the plan. He froze it. Now I'm living far away from the gym and I tried to call at least 3 times. No answer. Then I got an answer from them saying that I had to go there to cancel. Now they keep charging me and I can barely talk with them.
This is a very good gym! Large room with simulators. Simulators are duplicated. The simulators are made under the brand of a sports club GoodLife. The condition of the simulators is constantly monitored by the master and repaired if necessary. There are several departments. Hall for group lessons. Place for exercise on the mat. Separate room for girls who are shy. Great changing room. There are double size lockers for full height. Many mirrors, hair dryers, lotion. There is even an iron. In the men's locker room 9 showers, shampoo, shower gel, hair conditioner. In the shower clean. Large towel issued at the entrance. There is a Finnish and Turkish sauna. Several bars with drinking water. Vertical turbo solarium, several massage chairs. I used a free ticket for 3 visits during the week. This is a super offer! There is a large underground free parking. Great location. Successful sport club. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
For the price I pay I was hoping equipment wouldn't be broken. Might as well pay less somehwhere else for the same or better quality.
Why do they not have month to month payment plans? The management needs to get off their high horse and be flexible. Not everyone can commit to a year of payment and gym visits. The whole concept of a gym is that it's a place where you can release stress and just workout. This gym is more about making money. Not blaming the employees they only do their job. But they try to sell you contract then you gotta pay for the year whether you go or not, if i go to the gym it should be because i want to not because I have an obligation to because I paid and want my money's worth. When you go in after a few months guess what, you didnt pay for 2 months you didnt use it so now you cant go in unlesd you pay first. Love the 24/7 timing though, lOl.
Clean well equipped the BEST classes and instructors.
All you could ask for in a gym, the rest is on you.
Waste of money for prices because most of the services they have they cant provide. Management is terrible and dont know how to deal with customers. Front desk staff are all incompetent workers that dont help you as a customer.
Friendly staff. Towards the end of the day, the garbage cans get really full and the gym gets a lil rank but still a nice place.
The gym is really nice with big windows all around. Change rooms are so roomy with lots of counter space and mirrors/lockers all around. I've only been to the gym around 9am-noon, so I have no idea what it's like when it's during peak hours. The women's only part of the gym often doesn't have enough equipment, but it's usually not a long wait for the equipment to become free. Friendly staff, but they get a little scary when they do their recruitment/membership stuff... ESPECIALLY when they're trying to push you to do their personal training program. :)
Good gym with everything you need. Only down is that the mens showers aren't cleaned regularly (pre-covid) so hopefully they are cleaner now.
Has everything you need to workout plus memberships are not really expensive. Would recomend it 100%
This is the best gym location in Burnaby, I've been a member since the day it opened. Staff and facitilites are top-rated, it's an awesome gym not a social house, lol
As heard more about the gym this good I didn't become one of the membership. Bad gym
Great gym! Love it!
Great staff and trainers, usually go after midnight. Always have a good workout. The only thing missing is Wi-Fi
I saw all boys and girls go there are super fit. Very good looking.
Jared is 10/10 exellent service
Rude customer service the guy with curly hair
Lots of equipments, the ladies area is also big and well equipped. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
Nice staff, good location but not much space to work out, and a big part of it is reserved for people who with personal trainers only.. For dance classes, they only offer zumba, nothing else.
I have been training with Paolo at Goodlife and I will continue doing it. I love the way he combines different exercises, gets my heart pumping fast and achieve my results. I am working on body toning, muscle building and strengthening and …
Great equipment, only issue is they run out of towels
DON'T PUT ANYTHING IN THE LOCKERS. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING FOR MONTHS WHERE PEOPLES LOCKERS ARE BEING BROKEN IN TO.
Gym is clean and in good condition.
Our staff have memberships here and they love the clean massive open gym!
I have been a member for a few years. This good life is pretty awesome. This is a pretty big gym and would meet most people's fitness needs. Despite its size around 6pm on a weekday it can get quite busy. But overall, great gym and this is a great location too. Lots of parking. Save on, BC liquor store and TD all below.
Great spin and yoga.
Big selection of equipment, offer a decent variety of classes. Large change rooms with steam room and sauna
One of the worst gyms around.
The juice monkeys need to leave their gym bags in the lockers or their car. I had to ask a guy to move his bag, and towel, and water bottle, from a flat bench he wasn't even using. He gave me this intimidating stare like I should be afraid to bother him. The others have their bags laying around everywhere. Also seems like nobody cares to return the Weights to the racks. Plates just laying around everywhere. This facility is really nice. Locker rooms and showers are semi-spa like with huge wide lockers, so don't understand why people don't use them. Plenty of great equipment and ample space for the most part. 2 stars for the facility, equipment etc... Would be happy to light up the other stars but the staff not trying to enforce the rules, the other disrespectful guests who can't follow simple rules, is what's keeping me at a 2 star review. For such a nice gym, it's pretty crappy that I have to navigate around gym bags and weights all over the floor.
Not much compared to other Goodlife locations, I purposely go out of my way to a farther location because it's far superior.
The staff was so rude and disrespect to me. It was so different from before I registered.
Too good view
I love this gym. The classes are amazing, instructors are knowledgeable and friendly, and all the front desk staff are so helpful. Francine and Eva (early morning and evening staff front desk ladies) make my visit so much fun. The only downsize is that the towels are tiny and the early early morning staff will only give out 2 towels which doesn't help when you also intend to use a sauna or steam. Unfortunate as I have to bring towels when I pay for towel service. If the towel situation was better I would have given 5 stars.
Great fitness centre. Open 24/7. Has women section even though needs more ventilation. Equipments mostly work. Internet is weak towards to the women section.
Get fit guys.
I began a membership a few months ago - which includes all equipment, massage chairs and tanning. I always have access to the machines and weights I want, regardless of time. The longest I have had to wait for any piece of equipment is about 5 minutes, even during peak times. The only problem, and why I am giving just a 2 star review has to do with an employee , who's attitude is such that even entering and showing my key tag is challenging, quite frankly - I'm put off. When popping in for a tan - she questions me regarding whether or not I have tanned the prior day (which I know is not allowed - as you have to wait 48 hrs.).. but being questioned every time, as though she is expecting that I am not abiding to the gym rules, is insulting to my integrity. -- clearly she suspects I am not abiding by the rules which I do. Her attitude is unfriendly - condescending and a put off. This is a younger ethnic looking girl, with a slight accent and long, dark brown hair. The rest of the staff is very friendly, and accommodating. Perhaps, a consideration would be for the gym to monitor, through computer when people tan - that way they can avoid insulting people who are going there for what they paid for, and enjoy it without being grilled in an unfriendly fashion every time. It's enough for me to not want to go - period..
Great location and its 24/7, good variety of machines, friendly staff except the the lady who helped me complete my gym application. She was impolite and judgemental.
Great as always!
Has everything you are looking for....Grate hours, staff, classes and awesome equipment!!!!
Not dated like some gyms. Run the Les Mills program if your a combat fan like me. Facilities are kept clean. Lost 1 star because sometimes the odd staff member can be less than friendly.
Good equipment. Bad attitudes
was looking forward to getting my self into this gym. So many horrible reviews. wow. I personally can't stand people dropping weights as well. Good rule to have. But taking a selfie video where your not violating anyone's privacy nor marketing a brand or the gym is a joke.
I have been going to this gym with my wife for almost three years now and the experience has been absolutely great, specially the guys at the front desk....super friendly attitude.... just one minor detail.... some of the equipment in the women’s area have been broken for almost a couple of weeks now and it would be good to have them fixed... great place overall
Needs to be renovated, notice the wear and tear of the facility and equipment.
Nice Gym!
Pretty clean for the most part. It has all the equipment you would need, although does get a little cramped at peak times.
Horrible customer service, always broken machines, and equipment. They always forget to reset tanning beds, rude staff / trainers. Staff love to chat to there buddies more then helping the customers
Went for consultation and I asked all the questions thoroughly. I spotted dishonesty. I study human emotions and expressions. I don't recommend it
Unprofessional, unorganized and rude. Enough said.
Very well equipped, but always busy
Extremely bad customer service, especially the staff named Justin.
24/4 hour gym with friendly staff. Very clean
Very hit and miss with this place. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's terrible. Sort of ironic that it's upstairs from the liquor store.
Not well maintained equipment.
Complete place with a lot of machines and services. Washrooms are not very clean but OK. A lot of people who workout and makes you feel energized!
Don't use the showers.
Nice place
All three concept 2 rowers broken
The gym equipment is great but their staff are lacking in customer service. I’ve had my own experience where I needed to ask questions about a lost item, or if they had certain equipment (straps) I could borrow. But the trainer was too busy trying to pick up dates rather than take the time to answer a customers questions. This picture is of a trainer talking to his buddy rather than help a client I was trying to refer.
Being open 24/7 is the greatest part, staffs and machines are good too.
Great staff, great equipment. I live less than 2 minutes away from the burnaby sovereign location but because it is so awful I take the time to come to this gym because I can actually get a good workout in. Also I can use the amenities the staff member at the other location said were at burnaby sovereign but actually were at this location... Lawrence told me that tanning and hot yoga was at the sovereign location I signed up at but aren't actually there... Staff at this location are way friendlier and the gym is never a disaster.
Most likely a good gym but...Guy who drives the company truck nearly ran me over zooming through the underground parking. He's cut me off before coming onto north road also. Shouldn't let him drive a billboard around, he's bad for business.
One of the best GoodLifes I've visited. The gym is always clean and the staff are super helpful and welcoming. The equipment is kept in great condition. It' has never been too busy while I've been there which is a bonus. Definitely love coming to this location
Attended this gym for quite some time. Love the staff, the equipment is top of the class. There are always plenty of machines and weights to use. Squat rack being used? ah well. There are five more to choose from. Not to mention the size of this place! It’s huge Love this gym
It's busy between 3pm -9pm... Still. Best gym ever
It's. A gym.
Wow, so much gratuitous bitching and whining over petty nonsense (like tanning). Grow up, folks. I've lived all over the world and this is the best gym on earth. I work out here every time I come back to Canada and it's such a joy compared to every other gym that I've ever seen. The only thing missing is wifi which, unlike tanning, is critical for powering through a long tough cardio workout. Please get some. Arrange with Shaw to get a hotspot or something.
Really nice facilities!
Rude customer service specially that guy wirg curly hair
Great gym, clean and sanitary. They have a good selection of equipment and the staff are always friendly and smiling. Great place to pump some iron.
I have lost 40 pounds with Bruce and Paulo within 2 months working out here.
Great staff, amazing facility with 24/7 access to the gym. It also has a women's section aside from the unisex side. They also provide fitness class and hot yoga.
The only gym i know without Wifi. If this place has Wifi, i'll take the full membership plan. For now im staying at Steve Nash where i can play any music playlist!
MY 2ND HOME!!!! Can't beat any gym clubs I have tried out there. Besides on how I always complete my workout routine with this club, and have all the machines that I need. It's a 24 hours club by that means I can go at any time I want without any hassle. Me and my husband love love their childminding. Always attentive with our kids and the other kids. They have a huge women's only section and a clean women's changing and shower room. I like how they maintain cleancliness there too. I love how I can bring any friend or my husband for free with me at any time with the monthly plan I purchased. I always leave with a contentment working out here and I don't think I'll ever transfer to any other clubs. The only thing tho, I hope you can also have childminding @noon on Fridays. It would be so much convenient for us parents to workout! However, I hope you can keep the great job Goodlife fitness Northgate!!!!
stress relieving environment
Good place and environment to work out but sometimes very crowdy
My favorite gym!
My husband and I joined the gym three weeks ago due to it being open early in the morning so I could work out at 530 am. As of this Monday suddenly they changed there 24 hour gym to open at 6 am ! I can’t believe they can just do that …
24 hour gym. Affordable plan since I don't go during the daytime anyways.
Overpriced and the WiFi is not even working. The staff pushed you to chose the most expensive bi-weekly plan which is almost 70 dollars a month with taxes is even more. And without telling you if you wanna switch to another plan you should pay 24dollars more. If you charge that much . At least give us good WiFi ok?
Good gym, lots of equipment, friendly staff, good assortment of classes... Quite satisfied with this gym.
one of the worst places to work out never go to this gym as allll the staff dont know what their doing no customer service it looks like the got hired for slacking off not working. suckyy gymm
Gym has good equipment but it's too busy. Aside from that I'm not sure how their personal trainers become personal trainers when most are overweight or look anorexic. I understand they probably took some fitness courses but how about your practice what you preach? How do I know how effective your training routines are when you look more unhealthy then myself....
Best gym across canada
Be aware guys that if you cancel your membership. They are keeping charge me for 6 months after we cancel our membership. I went to see the manager Sam, she refused to see me and the front reception boy asked the security guy to kick us out. Really bad experience. Still didn’t get the money back from them. I would like to give 0 stars if possible.
Pretty frustrating. I signed up specifically because my available hours to work out are late in the evening. After a couple weeks here there was a notice on the door that the hours were changing effective immediately from 24 hours to 6AM - …
Hoping you will consider changing back to 24/7 in the new year
There’s a girl at the front desk (black hair, red lipstick) works like every morning . Francine I think. She makes me not want to even check into the gym every morning because she is so unapproachable, always has an attitude, never smiles and I always go above and beyond to be nice and send positivity her way. She drains my energy , may switch gyms because she’s there everyday I am. Other then that I love GoodLife though !!
Nice facility but service varies depending on staff.
Great gym! All the equipment you need and a great friendly helpful staff
perfect. way batter than steve nash
I cancelled my membership back in January. For some reason, they kept my membership "on hold" Jan. - Mar., and when the gym re-opened they kept charging my bank account. This caused $140 of NSF fees accrued in my bank account. I requested for reimbursement, but they are keep refusing to reimburse the amount. Please send me an email if anyone knows how to deal with this kind of stuff. Thank you.
Love this gym
I've recently been getting a lot of compliments on the rear; I guess I got my trainer Paulo to thank for that.
The gym itself is large and spacious with great accommodations like the sauna and steam room. They’ve slowly been adding in newer pieces since I signed up here several years ago. They installed a turfed area as well as replaced the old squat racks with multifunctional racks. The only downside is the people and mainly speaking about the personal trainers. There’s a thing called gym etiquette which unfortunately most of these “trainers” don’t have. They will approach you mid-set to ask if they can have the equipment you’re in the middle of using (and if you can modify your workout to fit around what they had planned for their clients even though they have a sectioned off personal training area just for that)
When I joined this club at Northgate many years ago, it was quite good. But now it is getting worse and worse. No staff is caring about the club, equipment is running down, most of it are out of order for a long time until they got fixed. Towels are thrown all over the places in the changing room and nobody seems to care about. They are always running out of towels when you need one, just ask why? Washrooms are smelly. This place is going down. There are many competitors around. I might look into, maybe it is time now.
The staff is helpful and the gym clean. I love that they have massage chairs in this location.
I have been extremely satisfied with service, facility, equipment membership I'm a happy customer ???????????? thank you good life fitness
Wow are these reviews ever spot on, the absolute WORST customer service I have come across in a long time. A shady company who are just out there for your money. Do not sign up for this gym.
Mask mandate not being enforced effectively
I’m so close to Metrotown location but this location Burnaby north gate with the stuff are my favourite. Everything about this location is great here :)
Love how it is always open. Friendly staff and always clean
Love this gym so much man
Terrible customer service . . . staff are argumentative and late. They offer no explanation or apology for opening the gym 15 minutes late, but hold you accountable if a last minute family emergency causes you to cancel your appointment. Please consider sending your staff for training where they can learn how to positively engage customers.
Andrea, an employee at this location was extremely rude and hostile. She and her husband approached me aggressively to inform me that I am not allowed to record my workouts. I asked front desk if there are any problems with recording and they said no as there are a lot of other gym members who also record their workouts at this gym. I am an athlete with an online coach and therefore recording my training is utmost crucial. Andrea and her husband continued to stare and give me dirty looks during my workouts, which is extremely unprofessional. This dragged on for a good two weeks. I have been a member at this gym for over a year and has trained for three powerlifting competitions here but was left with no choice but to cancel my membership because I did not want to train in such an uncomfortable environment. As you can see from all the other reviews, the customer service at this location is absolutely horrible. Despite the dirt cheap membership fees, this place is not worth the time and hassle.
Large space. Has a turfed area and lots of equipment. Dont usually have to wait for equipment.
Awesome steam-room & Sauna!
I have been a member of this gym for years and I mainly attend the group classes. I really enjoy taking Carrie’s, Angela’s, May’s and Kendall’s classes. I can’t say enough about how they all have different teaching styles and not everyone likes it but I do. It keeps me on my toes and I have fun working out with them. Btw I really like Carrie’s straight forward attitude!!!
This gym has gone down hill fast. The gym is dirty, managers don't return your call. The female manager is always lounging in the girls change room on her phone. While the front desk girl Francesca is always so sweet and apologetic, she deserves a five star.
Huge facility. Bit pricy but worth it if you use the classes
One of the nicer gyms out there. Often has equipment broken and out of service for months. Only about half of the cardio machines actually work And it can be extremely busy between 5 to 9 pm
Sooo bad experience won’t go back again! !!Keep charging me for 6 months after I do the account cancellation! The manager Sam hide away from me and don’t give any solution. The reception guy is so rude and even want call the security? ?
I love this gym! They have everything what you need to be in shape: weight room, fitness classes, hot yoga studio, steam room and etc. And it's opened 24 hours!
good: equipment, facilities, hours bad: management encouraging their trainers to push unnecessary membership options resulting in a very negative environment for those that just want to sweat just ignore the trainers and front desk and enjoy the facilities. open at all hours which is great for times you wanna try a new workout when the gym will be empty. anyways, i hope the staff start helping customers instead of trying to empty their wallets. this location could be great!
Busy place
Nice
Gym itself is great, though monthly rate is high for some. I would go if they had a more competitive rate.
A gym that only cares about money, every conversation with staff is a sales pitch.. Extremely disappointed
All the women's side equipment are broken. the front desk girl francine is great. she remembered my name the same day i told her, now greets me and my friend by name each visit to the gym. she greets other people by each name too. i was saddened to see her in tears leaving the manager's office. mngmt needs to get a grip and see the value in this employee who greets everyone with a smile and by name. i would give this gym a five star but without francine this gym is run down with broken machines. staff who couldn't care who you are.
Friendly staff with a large location this is my new home gym for sure. Chris is an very good trainer !
This gym is held together by a friendly girl, who smiles, waves and acknowledges every member and guest. Francine deserves more recognition, she is seen doing her job correctly. She greets us, she gives us hugs if we’re down. She’s a little mama in the making.
Not bad
I come to your gym as a guest, Francine gets this five star. I told her my name once, and she greets me by name since. No other employees greet me by name. She's a keeper. She is great at her job
Nice staff but for some reason all their machines dont work properly in the women's area. The treadmills are okay but the ellipticals always have something wrong. I let staff know but nothing changed. Very clean but just wish they serviced their machines regularly Update: Almost all the machines are all broken in some way and have gotten worse - a year later. The service men come but have not seen any difference. The regulars know which machines to stay away from but its unfortunate how limited we are when there is only 1-2 machines to choose from. Not worth the membership!
Customers are not their top priority. The top priority is to teach customers what Goodlife policy is and discipline you.
Great gym I drive in from Surrey to come here on the way to work and pass by numerous gyms. Very clean facility and lots of machines.
This is the second time I had to deal with their customer service with their lack of commitment to honor their initial agreement. Knowing my wife, I knew that she would pay for a membership and eventually forget about its existence. The only reason I paid for the membership was because I was told by the sales rep that the it was transferable anytime. After about a year of barely setting foot in the gym, my wife decided that perhaps I could make the better use of the membership. Well, I think you already know the rest of the story. Change in their policy we were told and they can't even get their story aligned. The initial staff told us the policy changed a year ago and the assistant manager says it was changed in March. I contacted the customer service and was told that it changed six months ago. I wouldn't go so far as calling them crooks as many reviews suggest, but it does make me wonder how they are able to stay in business. If the policy did change, I think it should only apply to those who joined after it was implemented and the service reps should be well informed of such change. Rather than honoring the initial agreement and securing their loyal patron, they made a choice to lose a customer and gain a negative review. That's just bad business.
Horrible service. Especially by the manager named Indar. Refuses to provide me service or a solution to get a membership for my young brother. Cannot even transfer due to some reason and charged 62 per month. Dont ever go to this fitness. They had multiple covid cases. One in july. And they never notified
Was a long time member of GL until I moved to a location that didn't have one available and I loved the gym. I regretfully ended my membership with them and began working out at another gym. Recently moved back and attempted to re-establish my membership with this gym and got stone walled by the pushy sales rep, manager, and finally corporate call center. The reviews here have hit it on the head. This location of Good Life is as bad as Gold's and Steve Nash gyms. I'm not sure if I'm going bother pursuing rejoining of the club at this point, but as I said this location has abysmal customer service skills, and will not hesitate to lie to get you to sign a contract. As I said very disappointing experience dealing with this location of GL.
Good gym expensive membership bad staff
Friendly staff and lots of perks for the price. Changing rooms are usually fairly clean. Not too busy before 8 am.
Paolo is super knowledgeable and I have enjoyed having him as my trainer.
Amazing gym and facility. Have noticed a huge improvement on cleanliness as well. My mother won a pair of sessions with a trainer and came in not knowing what to expect. After her first session she came home to me raving about the trainer and how intuitive and informative he was. We are so happy with our experience, thank you!
Love this gym
I currently workout here because of its convenience, the gym itself is fine. Love the facilities, the fact that it's open 24 hours and it hardly ever gets over crowded.
Great staff, equipment is top notch and well maintained and it has a good atmosphere. Classes happen often and there is an amazing variety.
Absolutely terrible experience and customer service. I went in last August and spoke to a young man at the counter to cancel a membership. After being on his computer for a few minutes he assured me it was cancelled and I had to pay a fee, which I did. Now, 10 months later I find out that my membership was never cancelled and has been taking small increments from my savings account. I called in outraged and was told there is nothing they can do about it, as the employee “may have left” the company. I’ve heard of issues like this with GoodLife before, their membership and customer service is atrocious.
Great place for working out. Been coming here for over two years. Great price and best part is that it is open 24hrs (some holiday hours apply thru the year) I use the women's section and it's usually pretty good . Usually find a machine to workout on. Only bad thing is that they have changed their cleaning staff and I find that things are not as clean and certain days stuff is not replenish. This doesn't mean it is dirty but compare to how it was when I started, I can see the difference. Also when a machine is broken it takes them weeks to get it repaired. However because it is a big gym there's always a machine that is available.
Signed up today. Had a guy named Justin help me out with the process. He was very kind and professional. Highly recommend and appreciate this location. The gym it self has everything anyone could need.
It has lots of machines and free weights to workout with. Nice spacious gym.
The worst gym ever I worked out at this one when I got my member card they told me I will not be charge when I cancel and it's not true the charge me even i gave them 30 days notes, I will never register at goodlife worst experience ever
A great gym with even better people. I currently work with a personal trainer at this location and have been for the past 3 years. My experience is always perfect and I look forward to coming into the facility to see the team. The best gym and trainers I have ever worked with. One area of improvement would be the speed in which equipment is fixed. That is the only critique I would have for this facility.
Friendly staff and a great gym
I constantly see employees wiping down the machines and checking equipment. Management or something must of changed in the last 7 months or so because they've definitely stepped it up.
Very nice fitness, spacious, clean and bright! Good access and plenty of devices. The only problem is distance for me! Why don’t you have a branch in Coquitlam! It’s quite a populated city which needs one!
Great facilities.
Have been going to this location for the pass 4 years and thoroughly satisfied by the location. Ample cardio equipment to stay on for hours without someone giving you the evil eye. They also offer daily hot yoga classes, group carfio, weights, spin classes and too many to name them all. Full towel and shower facilities.
The people that work here are too greedy, they will coerce you into signing up for a membership that does not suit you just to give them commission. I understand that’s how lots of gyms work so my advice is to go to another gym that has cheaper options.
Very rude manager (DEREK) !!! Irresponsible gym Thank you Derek for your impolite behaviour and attitude !!!
Great gym. Tons of light. High ceilings. Great equipment. Big
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had signed up for a year of personal training and due to illness (I have Crohn's Disease) I was unable to complete the sessions in a year. They wont give me back my money or wont reinstate my sessions. Don't go to this gym, they do not care about you as a person. They are only concerned with money thats it!
Decided to check out this location the other day. I typically go to the location near Metrotown. This location was not as crowded compared to the other location. And they had more machines to use (more than 1 bicep macine). Overall a nice gym but to out of the way for me. I would still recommending checking out the location at least once.
Great gym. Love the classes, but too many dance ones scheduled. Pump, CXWORKS and Combat are the best! I wish they had more morning classes scheduled even if it was virtual fitness. Something at 7 would be wonderful.
Signed up because it was a 24 hour gym, yet they seem to switch from 24 hours to 11PM close every other week because of lack of staffing. …
I love this place! I was a GL member in Ontario and, when I moved to BC, I had to cancel my membership becasue there were not any locations here. It was an easy process and I spent the next few months trying different locations in the area to try and find a place that I liked as much. I finaly settled at one place and hated it so much that I barely went. I was SO happy to see a GL location here! I waited until I was able to cancel my membership with my other gym and I made an appointment with Louise to go over my options here. She was absolutely fantastic! I've now been here for a few months and there is so much that I just love about this place. Here are a few highlights: 1. Great location. Think about it. You're on your way home from work and you can hit the gym, grab that jug of milk that you needed from Price Smart and that prescription from Shoppers and not have to run all over the place doing it. 2. Gorgeous facility. GL has a ton of space with loads of new equipment. Every piece of cardio equipment has a little TV screen and an iPod/iPhone charger built into it. This means that the hour you spend sweating isn't boring and you also reduce the risk of dropping your iPhone because it's attached to something. 3. Classes. The classes here are fantastic! There are a lot of free ones including Body Pump, Body Flow and Zumba. There is a seperate studio for spinning classes and those are free too. Yoga classes are in a much quieter area and are not included but are really not expensive. 4. Staff. I know that a lot of reviews here said that the staff are not good but I've never had an issue with them and have always found them to be really nice. There are sales staff, customer service staff and trainers and they are all really professional and friendly. (As for the claim that they lied about cancelation fees - read the contract before you sign it because everything is in there. And if you keep your copies of the paperwork then it's super easy to cancel things if you need to.) 5. The locker rooms. This might not seem like a big deal but when you have spent the last few years at a gym with rusty lockers, communal showers and not a single ammenity then this is a huge wow. The locker rooms are massive and nothing has been overlooked here. They provide irons and ironing boards, hair dryers, straighteners, curling irons, shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc right down to Q-Tips. There is a really nice sauna and there are two gorgeous little steam rooms in here too. I was really happy to see that there are about ten private shower stalls (and they are HUGE) because this means that I will never again have an old woman's naked bum rub against me (that did happen and I was traumatized. True story!). 6. The training. I have not signed up for training here yet but I did go for the free consultation and Mike was great. He set up a workout schedule for me based on what I like to do and what I want to accomplish and he also gave me a lot of nutritional information. I've already lost about ten pounds! 7. Motivation. GL offers optional workout cards that you can fill out when you complete workouts. They have a lot of incentives for people to get the results they want and everyone there is more than happy to do what they can to help members reach their goals (results = more customers). Definitely check this place out for yourself!
Lots of equipment but not enough towels, very accommodating for diabetics. They have a sharps container in the change room
Great facility, equipment is top notch, people that workout here are great. Thanks for addressing the issues I had brought up, I have updated my review to reflect the great work you staff have been doing lately.
Machines always broken and never get fixed. Been coming here constantly for 4 months and same machines out of order. Also find it odd how there over weight personal trainers..
Worst Management Ever. They take your money from your bank account even after you quit the gym with penaly paid. I spoke to AGM more than 10 times regarding refund of the false payment after I quit. He said he would refund for sure, and it is taking him more than a year to get me the refund. Now they are telling me it has been more than a year since the false payment of approx $300 happened, so I have to call the head office in Toronto to continue with the refund. LOL. Of course, the head office doesnt know what is going on. It is not just me who is suffering from similar issue but many of my buddies. Seriously 'The Worst' management ever and it is a big shame on Me who worked there as PT for 2 years. I feel very sorry for my previous clients, many of who suffered from similar membership issues. Lastly, I feel very sorry for Patch, the great CEO of Goodlife Fitness, for the poorly managed burnaby location which is hurting the Goodlife's reputation so badly. Just go sign up at SteveNash for less scam.
Tight.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Service is terrible and they are constantly trying to scam you out of more money.
Great place to workout and affordable prices
Love my experience there every time! great staff, good equipment and and overall amazing gym!
When you guys gonna start the 24hrs time schedule.. no updates on when you guys went back to 6-11..
Horrible customer service, I have been to many gyms and this is by far the worst I have never felt so uncomfortable. It's the people they hire there that are really rude and pushy to get as much money from you. They were trying to make me get a personal trainer and when I denied it because I didn't feel comfortable being committed certain staff members began treating me very rudely at the gym. I do not recommend this gym!!!!!!!!
Nice place to work out but the customer service is not good. One of the staff members is very rude, you have to beg him to get a towel. His name is Klint. He has a nasty attitude and doesn't seem to care at all.
I love that gym and the fact that it's open 24/24 make it easier for me to go there after work.
I enjoy coming here. I find the front staff really nice. Especially Francine, Jordan and Ralph. Francine goes above and beyond to be friendly and accommodating!
Worst services ever and no wifi. They sell you a package with all these perks that are rarely available. The GM sucks too, they don't lube their machines yet there are always three or four people just standing at the front desk doing nothing. In addition, when people ask them for help they make it seem like it's a huge inconvenience to move from behind the desk.
Very nice place, the staffs here are very nice as well.
The best gym very huge and clean
I have been training with Paolo for 8-1/2 months. He is a thorough and engaging trainer. He is constantly changing and adjusting our routines to push me to reach my always progressing goals. I would highly recommend Paolo for all levels of personal training!!!
Gets way too crowded
Amazing staff and they have well equipments
This gym is great. The staff are nice and welcoming. Good equipment and fantastic lighting with lots of mirrors to check out my gains. Also, to catch ppl mirin' my aesthetics is a great confidence booster. AND THERE'S LIKE 5 SQUAT RACKS.. LEG DAY EVERYDAY #bless
Staff members are helpful. Great equipment. Child mining is excellent! All at an affordable price
Extremely well managed, clrean , organized, and professional.
This gym is generally very well maintained. There have been a few times that I've walked into the womens locker room and there were dirty towels everywhere because the hamper was already overflowing. And this is always after 11pm not during peak hours as I go after work. The equipment works well, there are some machines in the womans only area that are broken. I've had good experiences with all the front desk staff so far and even some lovely experiences with other members showing me around when I was still new to this gym. The free gym bag you get is actually pretty good quality. And there are plenty of lockers to store your stuff, and in a variety of sizes as well in case you want to share (or just have a lot of stuff). The tanning booths have always been clean, so have the saunas. This gym is 24/7 which is great for people like me who dont have conventional hours at work. Overall it's worth it to at least get a 14 day pass and give it a chance.
Has been training with Andy for a year. Excellent coach and support me to gain weight and body shape. Great job
Lots of equipment and space
Good clean facilities, friendly staff
Been a Goodlife member for over 3 years. past two years they had several issues with my payment withdrawal. Even though I pay through visa, they still charged me through my bank account. It took several months until they reimbursed my money back. From 2016-2017 I decided to pay full year up front with Visa and ASKED ON THE STOP that I WANT TO CANCEL after my contract ends (September 2017). For some reason, they would not accept my payment UNLESS I GAVE them my Bank INFORMATION (RED FLAG!!!). Fast forward to today. I asked to Cancel in July 2017 and the staff would NOT ALLOW ME to do so. Told me I needed to cancel 10 days prior to last day. 10 Days ago, I asked to cancel and was told I needed 30 days NOTICE (DECEITFUL COMPANY)! Now they are charging me 1 month extra to stay at this gym against my will. WHAT A SCAM! DO NOT COME TO GOODLIFE! THEY WILL MAKE SURE TO WITHDRAW MORE MONEY THAN YOU PAYED FOR AND FURTHERMORE, THEY MAKE SURE IT IS A COMPLETE HASSLE FOR YOU TO CANCEL THEIR MEMBERSHIP THAN ANY OTHER GYMS! Their service quality have gone down over the years and their demands are more restricting than ever before! THEY USED TO BE $23 a MONTH FOR ANY LOCATION! Now they charge $50 per month and costs you $5 if you decide to visit other Goodlife LOCATIONS! ALL WHO ARE CONSIDERING THIS GYM, DON'T! BE WARNED!!!! IT IS OVERCROWDED WITH PEOPLE THAT DO NOT KNOW GYM COURTESY, LEAVING GYM EQUIPMENT ON THE FLOOR AFTER THEY FINISH. LASTLY, SLOPPY GYM MANAGEMENT. WENT IN FOR THE 3rd ATTEMPT TO TALK ABOUT CANCELLATION WITH A SUPERIOR. NO SUPERVISOR OR MANAGERS IN THE FACILITY TO ASSIST YOU. WHAT A JOKE! HOPE THIS IS WORTH THEIR $50 extra dollars because I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY OUT THERE! P.S. Their Barbells are not all 45lbs. Some are cheap China knockoffs. My buddy and I have taken their barbells for a weigh in. Some are 40lbs! NOT GREAT IF YOU ARE deciding to compete!
Fix the internet! With maximum capacity at 75 people, the internet doesn’t work; and it does work, it’s very slow compared to other gyms. Considering the fact that I’m paying over $70 a month for the gym membership, the internet should be faster and work (this isn’t 2010!). Other than that I do like the equipment and the machines. I would give this Goodlife a five star rating if they only fixed the internet issue.
Keep charging customers without notification even after canceling the membership, seriously ????
Requires pre-booking to enter and there is a decent max capacity because of Covid which is great.
I've seen Francine flourish in the last year. She was scared to talk to anyone. Now she greets everyone with a smile, she waves, and tells us to enjoy the rain. It's a completely different atmosphere when she isn't there. No one waves, or says bye at night. The scanner is often left on the counter. Never any towels. I love seeing her laugh with members. Even if her jokes suck.
Amazing gym with amazing staff. As soon as I walked in, I felt like part of the gym community. I've been training with one of the trainers and it has been one of the best investments I've ever made. The Fitness Manager and my trainer have single handedly made my first ever gym experience less intimidating and something I look forward to being a part of. Thank you GoodLife for employing great people!
very rude.. Jessica the sales rep.. never coming back here.. thats for sure
Where do i start, uh great equipment but not enough of the ones people use most. Way to many cardio and fancy fluff machines. Great personal workout area, but your not allowed in without a trainer. And its always crowded, like uncomfortably packed, waiting on equipment and weights. And poor customer service save for couple of cool guys.
Awesome location to train at! I have been training with Gordon and hes been amazing. He is very personable and knows just how to motivate me during my bad days. I recommend him to everyone, especially if you are trying to make a change to your fitness and health!
One of my favorite gyms in the Vancouver area I've been to. PROS: Great staff and lots of equipment CONS: they are slow to service broken equipment.
My experience with GoodLife has been okay but with some minor inconveniences to my personal liking. First off they have an amazing facility and seem to have great protocols for sanitization which is the main reason why I subscribed to this gym. Next they have a rather subpar deal if you let them know that you are looking for a corporate plan. Unfortunately they only offered me 3$ off the normal price which is understandable since I was already getting a “great deal” with their 100$ off sign up. The representative that helped me was named Jared and he was lovely but I let him know right off the bat that I would like to pass up the Personal Training offers they have but later on continued to offer me these deals. Jared asked me if it was a financial reasons as to why I had declined which is a sales tactic. They do ask some personal questions which is apart of their job and mostly apart of their mandate, something I can over look. My main goal was to finally get back to the gym without being pressured to their side offers or “perks”. Lastly 1 hour sessions feels like Im being rushed to pack in what usually takes 1hr 30 minutes. I will continue to use their gym as they are one of the few facilities on my way home from work.
Gotten so busy that you really need to go before 8am or after 11pm unless you want to experience long periods of waiting for workout stations to be free. This really sucks.
Been coming here for about a year now. In the area I've tried Steve Nash and Golds(by Brentwood) and am SO happy I chose Goodlife even if it's slightly further away from home. I go between 8am-12pm and it's never overly busy(around 11 I'd say is when I've seen it at its busiest) the staff is super friendly-they always say hello and bye which I find makes a huge difference even if it's limited interaction. I've never had issues bringing in a guest for free (that is an awesome part of the membership btw). Only once did they not have a towel available because they were still in the dryer. The people working out are there to work out so no one is standing around hogging equipment and being those annoying people everyone hates and I haven't seen any gym douches that huff and puff and drop their weights and yell like maniacs so that's a plus. I'd say it's fairly clean with the equipment mostly put back into place. The quality and quantity of equipment is perfect especially as female you get lots of everything because there's also a female section stacked with everything. When there are no classes going on you can do a virtual class which I do every now and then to switch things up and it's pretty challenging and fun. Also I froze my account for a month once and lord behold the payment actually stopped for that month! When have you ever experienced a gym actually not screwing that up?! Only thing I would change is to make 9pm yoga a thing!(and more 6am classes) So many times I'd love to do a relaxing late night class but last one is at 730pm. It would also be nice to be able to sign up for a class on their app to avoid showing up to a full class.
gym sucks
Been going to this gym for years now and never once had this issue. Today a FEMALE member of the staff went into the MENS change room in the middle of the day during peak hours to “clean”. There were multiple male staff members present and I felt very uncomfortable with a female being in the male change room while I was changing and showering. I asked a male staff member who had just cleaned the men’s change room to as why she came in here and he replied with “she’s the new manger and wants make sure we’re cleaning properly”. I am not going to continue working out in a facility where the manager openly challenges her staffs cleaning ability Infront of guest and walks into the opposite sex’s change room and breaches the members privacy.
Great gym and friendly people who don't mind sharing the gym equipment when it gets busy. The locker rooms are sometimes quite messy during the day and especially at night, towels every where and clothing left behind. The staff during the day are a hit and miss, they don't know how to properly greet guests and it doesn't feel so welcoming. This can affect potential customers in the future, I also want to bring up the issue with the older caucasian male who usually works the weekend night shifts, it was very uncomfortable when I would ask for towel service and he would get offended, especially if there is a female present that I always see him chatting with during my late night gym sessions. I understand a night shift might seem tiring for some but that's part of the job. Rather than being on the computer all night, there are weights, towels all over the ground, the cleaning crew can't properly clean the area due to this. I can see it and other members have taken notice. Overall it is a great gym and although, it might seem pricey, it is worst the dollar. It's just a shame when rude employees can ruin the experience
Paolo, help me a out from cutting weight and teaching me a lot of knowledge in weight lifting form and overall taking care of myself.
Peak hour 8PMish, way too many people, to a level of disturbance to one's routine.
I have been coming to this location for a few years now. I just do my work outs and leave. What really tore at my heart strings was when the front desk girl Francine, instantly went to hug a member when she found out her mother passed away. You don't see great customer service like this anymore. I love how compassionate and caring she is, I have never interacted with her but this morning I said hi. Though all the stress of not being able to see, she still puts others first.
