We've got all the opinions of people like you who purchased the services and products of GoodLife Fitness Burnaby Metrotown (Gym) in the territory of Burnaby (Canada).
To this day the business has a score of 3.6 stars out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is really positive, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the rating is quite faithful. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to write tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Gym belongs to the category of Gym.
Everything is clean and new. You won't be disappointed I highly recommend it
Good facility, extremely busy.
Rude staff, not a good time management, one of the staff shouted on me!!!!!!
Have been to at least a dozen gyms in the van/Burnaby area and this is by far the best. Excellent equipment in perfect condition, lots of room, friendly/helpful staff
Great Staff and place to workout. Hope they get wifi soon.. UPDATED ON OCTOBER 16, 2018.... Some time ago I put great staff and place to workout, things have changed. The old staff is gone which is understandable as people tend to move on, the place is now starting to show lack of maintenance on the equipment, the washrooms are not being cleaned and they still have no wifi. My husband and I have decided to cancel our membership as we're paying $120.00 per month for what? When we went to the front counter to speak about cancelling, the woman said ok and she proceeded to cancel. No questions like, may I ask if there is anything I can do to change your mind or assist you with, just a simple ok. Our membership expires in November which we are going to check out places like Steve Nash, Anytime Fitness and other places. The only staff member there is the person who signed us up is Jared. Maybe we should reach out to him but we feel now the damage is done. Goodlife fitness, retaining your clients, keeping the place clean, up with the maintenance and give the dam wifi like you have used as your sales pitch may keep your members and bring in even more. Everything about this post is true, so what excuses or lies are you prepared to give.... Yours Truly Davi and Marc
If you like socializing while working out, then this gym is for you. It's a very nice facility! But it gets insanely crowded during 80% of the hours, which is insane. I usually had to wait so long to get a squat rack or bench.. So I cancelled my membership and it was a smooth and easy experience doing so. Overall, I had some great workouts here and made lots of gym buddies! But so long Goodlife.. it's just a total zoo and I lost my patience after a year ><"
Good gym, has all the equipment you need but not being 24hrs is not cool when you promote 24hrs
Greatest gym. Rockstar staff. All around 5-stars for the Allstars at this GoodLife. Keep up the great work.
I really enjoy Kate's bootcamp every Tuesday and Thursday at 930am. It's like a small group personal training session (2-5 ppl) of HIIT type workouts with equipment and body weight exercises. It's $200 for 12 sessions and well worth it.
Nice, big, bright club with huge windows and a massive stretching and lunging area. My wife likes the women's area.
If you liked crowed gyms, poor service, contracts that are a rip off, no towel service and if you get towels it's a god gift. Perfect gym for juice monkeys and pervs. Well done good life well done. FYI if there’s a holiday they should get sued due to the fact it says 24 hours.
The fact that it is 24/7 is a strong point. The price is OK also. However, it does not have air conditioning system in the aerobic room!!! and in the evenings it is too crowded. I am pretty sure that they have registered several times over the capacity. They might need to reconsider their after 8 cheap prices. It is unbearable in the evenings.
Really good service
Awesome fitness center. Mark is a professional trainer that is friendly and know what he is doing. He put me with an excellent trainer after my check-up who is excellent too, they are helping me getting back on track with my nutrition, mood, and shape. I have checked a lot of different places where price where way higher but with poor trainers or poor facility. Steve Nash can't compete against GoodLife and many other don't get to their ankles...
Packed with younging, but cheap...
great gym, the 24 hours makes it very convenient. Equipment is all great, but can be very busy at times.
Wow! This place is very different from any gym I have ever been a member of. They let you basically throw your weights around, think a staff member will ask you to stop dropping and smashing the weights around? Nope, go ahead! Tired of gyms not letting you bring your gym bag with you out on the floor? Well its gym bag city here! The floor is littered with bags most of the time. Who wants to be able to walk around a gym without tripping over stuff heck thats crazy talk. Why use the beautiful, spacious locker room with sufficiently sized lockers when you can make a mess of the gym floor! Want to be greeted sincerely by a staff member when you walk in? Didn't think so, who would! Most of the time you will be ignored when you walk in and the staff will be talking to coworkers or their pals loitering around the front desk. Phewf! If you're lucky there won't even be a staff member at the desk, they will put up the sign that says they are doing a 'cleanliness check' and go get in on a pump with their buddies. Just let that front desk phone ring and ring bud! In all seriousness this would be a decent gym if the staff enforced the rules and were friendly human beings. It is a huge gym and the facilities are really nice. Virtual classes are great for when you can't make it to a class when they are scheduled. When I signed up I was told there was both hot yoga and free tanning but the fitness advisor failed to mention it wasn't even at that gym....I would have to go to a different location to take advantage of that. Would have been nice to know that upfront.
People at the reception often seems arrogant
Equipment is quite new, 24/7 gym, has their own parking, spacious and has personal trainers/classes
Very clean and spacious facility! One thing is that the floor shakes a lot with people putting down their weights. Not sure if the floor will fall through one day with the gym being on an upper floor...
The gym went back to the 24 hours schedule for three weeks and now they cancelled again. I was waiting the 24 hours schedule during all the pandemic. I love this gym cause it's near at 10 minutes from home and 10 from my work, I start to work at 6 am on the morning everyday with no specific end timing usually 7pm. The last three weeks I was on the gym at 4:00am (my only time possible) with a couple people around. Perfect for the circuits and bi series of workout talking about the machines and everything. That's impossible in the weekdays on rush hours. Everyone knows that the workouts it's different for each person so I think some people have different needs including to reach their goals muscle gain, losing weight etc. That's why the 24 hours could works too and with less people around it's safer than the rush hours. I'm thinking to going today and cancel my membership and going to another one with the 24/7 hours service. Anyway I'm a simple person who lose 40 kgs 12 years ago trying to keep and maintain his weight. My two cents.
Good vibes and nice people
Very inappropriate policies that do NOT foster customer loyalty. Burned for over $100 because their billing system took money from my account while on membership freeze which was in place since March 2020 due to COVID. The funds were withdrawn in June 2021 which is the same time that an employee said the freeze started and also the same time of a freeze extension. It seems like a system error happened when the freeze extended. Anyways, admitting to the error, head office instead of crediting back the money added free gym time only (per their policy). Head office stands by this and won't move on refunding the funds. Managers at the gym level have no authority or power about it either so it is a long drawn out process when dealing with billing issues, which in the end seems you will end up losing anyways. Disappointing and now out $100 for no services used but in the end they have now lost 5 customers (family tied to the account). Maybe they make more money from ripping people off with their policies than keeping long term customers through good business practices. Personally we do not feel safe yet to visit gyms with COVID so our memberships will be canceled and I guess we won't be back.
Metrotown Good life is one of the best gym, I ever visited. Totally recommend it
Good life really does know how to run a gym properly. Very well organized clean and professional. And let's remember very affordable. We made a positive Difference by joining this gym. We highly recommend giving them a try.
Great facilites and staff with free parking. Always clean but it gets really busy during rush hours. Biggest drawback (for me at least) in this gym is there is no WiFi whatsoever.
Elena was rude and have no people skills. I don't feel respected as a potential customer but a criminal in jail. This is not our experience in any other gym. I work in sales myself and cannot imagine anyone hire her, and how her attitude and behavior would help the gym or herself. She clearly cares about her own sales result and not anything else, and also carried out unbelievably rudely. I signed up for a three times visit. She tried to overpower me all the time and had no respect or acknowledgement to things I shared with her, as if I had no idea what I was talking about. Then she insisted she should know exactly which company I work before any visit. After being told I would rather look at the gym first, she said we were not a good fit and left us. And when we walked out of the door, she was yelling behind us.
This gym is so clean and nice! Could use more squat racks, but I generally don't have to wait long Downside is no parking, I usually park at the grocery store across the street
Clean gym.! Just but still good!
This gym has a studio that you can use for no extra cost to your membership. It's really good if you want to do your own personal cardio away from everyone else in the gym. Definitely recommend this gym!
My favourite place
This rude girl at the front desk, Robiya wouldn’t let us workout on free bring a guest day. She didn’t even try to be helpful and also declined the universally offered free trial using the excuse that there were no fitness managers around to sign us up. We only found out it was free guest day when we came back and a much nicer front desk person let us know.
Line up two weeks long before you get a work out.
I couldn’t even sign up for the membership online. When I hit “join now” button it says “page does not exist”, pretty buggy their website and app, despite the complaints on Google reviews where most of people say they must book a spot 1-2 weeks before for an hour workout, that’s ridiculous.
spacious gym with wide range of equipment and including dry sauna and group fitness room
Like others have mentioned, this facility is very well equipped and maintained. If you want to have a free space and for the gym to not be too crowded, you should avoid coming in the evening. Overall one of my favourites in Burnaby, and you get what you would expect from a brand new gym.
Great place to workout. Lots of squat racks! I do find cardio machines dirty/hardly cleaned. Overall, this location Is so much bigger and better than many other gyms in the area.
Great place to work out. Best fitness center in Burnaby, at Metrotown. However, it's really must in the evenings (6ish pm), so be prepared to wait for and share equipment - or choose another timer of the day to workout.
I like this GL. Very big, lots of machines, and it was never really super busy.
The place is huge. There aren't a lot of people in the morning so the wait time is short.
I like guys who working there. They are all responsible
They OVER SOLD memberships and now the place is a free for all and a meat market. Many ignorant and bully weight lifters take the Olympic bars from the machines which causes us to not be able to use the machine. However the staff are all teenagers or friends of the bullies so they ignore it. Crazy place. I left within minutes.
Ive never been to a gym where people talk more than they actually work out. This place is like a highschool field trip of workout buddies. I have worked out at a lot of different gyms. There is hardly any mat area, its gross. The equipment is either limited or claimed by groups of friends i cant tell the difference. The workout accessories like yoga blocks or resistance bands are non existent. The space is weirdly layed out, cramped, disorganized, floating mirrors 'tf, machines are asymmetrical. Someone constantly just litters the bathroom floor with toilet paper. However I have never found a problem with the staff, they are very friendly.
Great place, but careful with your shoes, keep it locked!
I'd love to give this place a 5 star but there needs to be improvements. Facility is great, clean, bright with ample cardio. Tv programing is horrible. Majority of the channel option are repeat of the same channel..(and only the manager seems to know how to fix this). Clean towels are usually not available even though it's a service to prestige members.
Clean, community is good, eveyone seems pretty respectful.
Needs more benches at the free weights!
Great space, lots of equipment and free weights. Highly recommended to go in the morning because after normal work hours it can get insanely packed and hard to get any equipment in both the co-ed and women's only section. I wish they had more squat racks... not because it is necessarily needed but some inconsiderate people hog them for the entire 2 hours I spend at the gym and most of that time they just talk to their friends and they aren't even lifting.
I have working out at this gym for 3 YEARS. All of a sudden they do an update to their system and started refusing me towels. The girl at the front named Rebeka gave me such a snarky comment and had absolutely zero customer service skills at that time. When I went through with canceling my membership, she didn't even try to keep me. Instead it was "okay here your canceled". At least handle it properly, maybe give us all a week notice? That as of this date we'll stop giving towels... It was handled VERY unprofessionally by Rebeka.
(Translated) The equipment is very clean and complete, the environment is very good, the transportation is convenient, you can park for 2 hours free of charge. (Original) 器械很干净齐全,环境很好,交通方便,可以免费停车2小时
Literally worse experience with the front desk representatives. I thought they were hired to help answer customer’s inquires and not just to gossip with other employees. I literally waited there for like 10 mins and this girl kept talking to her friend about her personal life. Giving three stars and not 1 bcz I know work can get a bit exhausting but please don’t stand at the front desk when they are people waiting to get help.
They hide information about cancellation. The staff mentioned the membership can be canceled anytime. Recently I moved to Richmond and want to cancel the membership. However they ask to pay 99 dollars to do so! I have search through their website, the only mention the "commitment period", no more explanation! Comparing with Richmond oval, they post the cancellation information on FAQ. Shame on you, GoodLife!
Great space, excellent cycling classes, the equipment is in great condition...
I'm a member from ontario so I have been too many locations. I was impressed with this goodlife the layup is good new equipment lots of benches. Friendly staff
I'd like to thank this trash gym for helping me get out of a membership with them. Not like you can ever even get a booking time for this over rated gym
Great location. Free parking. A bit busy at times but overall great gym with most of what you need.
Clean and airy with friendly staff.
Most of the time they run out of towels and there’s no Wifi. Their other locations has wifi but this location doesn’t.
Busy most of the day.
Great gym. Lots of space and equipment. Tons of cardio equipment and different weight machines and free weights. Dumbbells up to 100lbs. Multiple squat racks and deadlift platforms. Very clean and staff are very friendly. The locker rooms are more like a hotels with shampoo and body wash in each shower stall. Has a co-ed main gym as well as a womens only seperate section accessed through the womens locker room. Massive spin class room and even bigger room with a screen for group fitness and yoga classes. And a great location a block from Metrotown mall and a couple blocks from the skytrain station. And very affordable in terms of memberships
Good equipments
Love going there weekly. Need to solve the problem of towels. Perhaps, grab any document every time somebody take a towel or having a sign out sheet. Maybe it will stop people from bring it home if it is the reason for not having towels at least twice a week.
I like it .and i enjoy it
Good place to work out, 4 stars only because their maintenance of facilities needs to improve.
Very deceptive policy to taking more money out of your pocket. without telling you that they are open after COVID, they start secretly charging you. if the charge doesn't go through they wait for month and then they email you that we were open and you owe us 2 months of subscription fees plus some $70 administration fee. I went to this location and after waiting for 30 minutes, a representative showed up and said we understand the confusion and I will take care of all the administration fees But you need to pay for services that we were secretly charging you! After I paid and came back home I realized they charged me the admin fees too. Very Very disappointed.
Best gym in burnaby! Open 24/7. Loads of equipment/ virtual spinning/ yoga classes. Very clean .
One of my favourite GoodLife fitness clubs. Staff are super friendly. Lots of room to get a stretch in, work out, have a yoga session and relax post your work out!
Well equiped but very busy. I read between sets when I train and I could not read without getting motion sickness because the floor shakes so much as people walk, run, or set their weights down around you; if someone drops their weight you will feel it across the building.
Well kept with sufficient equipment. Open till late.
Busy, more busy, did I say busy? If you enjoy having your one hour workout take 2 hours due to the abundance of people working out join! This gym has too many people period. I regret getting into a contract due to that. Profits over people is the Moto of this gym.
This is the newest GoodLife in the GVRD, and my local favourite. Located on the second floor of the same building the Elements hotel is in, on the northeast corner of Willingdon and Kingsway. Bright, with plenty of natural light. Very logical and efficient floor layout, with two different cable-machine circuits, excellent selection and quantity of cardio equipment with good view of the Kingsway street scene. Large mat area, lots of free weights. Members are friendly and mostly pretty good about putting gear, plates etc. back where they came from. Much better smelling than the Surrey location, which is hands down the stinkiest of the many, many gyms I've been in. There is some free parking in the underground lot but spaces are limited and fill up very quickly in the early evening. The Nosh coffee bar just inside the building entrance on ground floor is a better-than-average place to grab a pre- or post-workout beverage, snack or light meal. Great coffee.
Like to workout here, good selection of classes and equipment, friendly staffs
Busy gym. Have woman's gym section as well. Good selection of equipment. Benches are impossible to get to. They do not clean or fix broken equipment. Staff snobbish and stand around chatting alot.
I’ve made an appointment with the advisor and the advisor didn’t show up. It’s really not professional.
Great gym with a great variety of equipment. Only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the locker room and bathrooms at times can be disgusting.
7 squat racks, 2 deadlift platforms, plenty of machines and free underground parking. Love this gym.
I just joined and I was pretty much left on my own zero customer service once I became a member. It's ok for a gym. Clean. Spacious. Maintained. Definitely don't have to worry about sales people pitching u the next great deal. Service staff are hard to find. The gym by lougheed is way better in my opinion . Maybe it's just the atmosphere.
Just another gym that doesn't help you get to your fitness goals.
Pure pain - and not in a good way. My sister-in-law visited over the Christmas break, and suggested that we should try some of their classes, because she had a membership with them in Edmonton and loved them. We had booked an orientation, and I'd joined her for a weight class. The class was fine, but there wasn't anyone available to give an orientation (there were three people behind the desk, and no line-up, so I'm not sure what they were doing), so my wife and mother-in-law had to wait to get an orientation while we went to the class. THEY eventually got an orientation, and after the class with my sister-in-law was done, I was supposed to get an orientation as well. Instead, the guy behind the desk seemed more concerned about me filling out some form or other (for a three-day trial membership, I think) than anything else. After I'd given him my name, phone number, and email address he mumbled some commend about shaking his own hand (I guess because I didn't shake his hand on cue - I had NO IDEA that was his intent - I am legally blind, so I didn't see whatever cue he thought he had given me). He then wrote me off as rude and went to sit on a bench with the rest of the staff, who appeared to be doing nothing. So I never got an orientation. I found out that he thought I was being rude after my sister-in-law phoned to complain to the manager about his NOT giving me the orientation that I had asked for. About a week later (after my wife and I had done the math to determine that the cost of a gym membership at Goodlife was prohibitive, even with my sister-in-law's corporate discount), the staff person phoned me to apologize for his misjudgment, and to give me a long-winded explanation about being off sick and not being able to follow up. Fine, I'm still not interested, because I've done the math, and cannot afford a membership. Someone ELSE had clearly phoned on his behalf, because I got not one, but THREE phone calls from someone else at Goodlife in his absence. I told him this, thanked him for his time and hung up, thinking that I had heard the last of Goodlife - apparently not. They called again (three times) a day or so later when I was working for a client, and didn't leave a message. Then, I got THREE more phone calls in a row from them today - one from an unidentified 800 number, the next from the Goodlife Canada's 800 number, then from Goodlife USA's 800 number. What part of "NO!" didn't they understand?
(Translated) Very good, many people (Original) very good,人很多
The nicest gym in the area, clean facility, towels available, the most friendly staff, reasonable pricing on personal training and memberships, and parking isn’t a problem compared to other gyms. It may be busy in the gym, but I don’t find that a problem; people generally don’t mind if you work in with them. ~~~~~ They also offer physio and chiro, and if you are looking for a physio, ask to see Clarence Wong!!! I saw him for IMS/Dry Needling two days ago. He is super outgoing, professional, and gets the job done quick and well. I’ve seen other physios before and he is by far the best. I will definitely go back to see him for all of my future physio needs :) 5/5.
Nice gym but very subpar staff. Never friendly. Its almost like they look down their nose at you. Update: Thought things would get better after my last review but apparently not. The majority of the staff seem to be teenagers (or at least act like teenagers) who make such a scene with each other while the rest of us are trying to focus on our workout. Their behavior is completely unprofessional and they need to be reigned in.
One of the best gym in canada. Staff is amazing. Last but not least Ben (general manager) is one of the best guy on this planet. He is always looking forward to help members out, no matter how busy he is. Love this gym.
Pretty convenient. Can register your car for free parking. I like that you have to book for an appointment to limit the amount of people in there at once
Refused entry for vax passport, Absolutely disgusting management, obliging with tyrannical governments to enforce an unconstitutional freedom of choice vaccine, against our human rights, I hope you go bankrupt very soon
Nyc gym
So Ive been a member for about 4 years and wanted to switch locations from north road to metrotown... I am on an old plan which is 21$ a month roughly. Called head office and talked to management and got told they will not honor my 4 year dedication cause they dont have that plan anymore and the best they can do is 50 something in change.... well bye goodlife ! #moneyhungry #cream #nohonor
(Translated) Excellent gym Large number of devices. Very good location tel service 24 hrs (Original) Excelente gimnasio. Gran cantidad de aparatos. Muy buena ubicación tel servicio las 24 hrs
Tons of equipment, always Los pace in the lockerroom
(Translated) Excellent for training! (Original) Excelente para entrenar!
I signed up for the premium ($56) plan and I'm very satisfied. The business is opened 24/7, has brand new fitness equipment, good variety and number of machines (no line-ups) and very decent change rooms. My wife also signed up and she could find a good variety of classes, all included in the premium plan. One cool thing about the classes is that, if you're unable to attend to one of the scheduled times, you can play video instructions on the room's wall projector at any time. This is a very spatious place and, in addition to the common area, there is also an area for personal training, and a workout area for women only (although many of them prefer to use the common area because it has a better variety of machines). After my first week, I don't have one single reason to complain about it.
Great gym with great staff but gets very very busy as most commercial gyms will.
Friendly staff great equipments
This place is crowded. Even the women's only area.
Kinda sterile gym. Decent gear and a good amount of it managed by young uninspired staff. It's functional but lacks any feeling.
We pay premium for a 24/7 gym. You should change the name from GoodLife to AverageLife
Without being a member, there 8s not a whole lot you can do. However I do appreciate the size of the facility and 24hrs.
Good gym with nice facilities including steam rooms, saunas, massage chairs, daycare, hot yoga room, spin room, and acclaimed Les Mills classes. But, at time of this review, there are only three full locations across Vancouver/Burnaby (with one being women's only) and these tend to be overcrowded. The staff are young and can't keep up so sometimes there are no towels available, if you paid for the towel service, and the change rooms get gross quickly.
Very cooperative staff
Staff are rude and not friendly. Bad time management. Also I did not get an ideal deal for family bundle membership.
My favourite gym to go to since it's close by and open 24-7. The equipment is also quite new and clean. However, there's way too much people at the gym all the time. They have a female section so if you're a female it's not too bad but if you're a guy looking to really workout, expect to be waiting in line for every single exercise unless you come after 11pm or before 5pm. Even the female section is getting really crowded so I tend to go in the mornings now. The pricing is also a bit expensive. New members need to pay an enrollment fee of more than $100 or do a one year contract. Monthly fee is about $60 a month.
Try to avoid this GoodLife location, they will make up reasons not to give you towel when you're entitled to them. Front desk girl called Rebbeka is extremely rude and mental.
gym is good and spacious but always busy. north road location is a little less busy if u dont mind the drive
Provided you aren't going during peak hours, this place is great. Clean, bright, and new, it's everything you need in a gym. Oh and if you plan on showering just know that the towels aren't anything to write home about.
Great place for a workout with a lot of machines and weights available. Lockers are very spacious and their virtual reality cardio room is pretty cool.
$15 drop in with a wide range of gym equipment. This place is pretty busy so if you like working out in a place with an energetic atmosphere, this is it! Plus: these guys don't try and hustle you like they do at Steve Nash. Praise baby jee.
Too many people btw 6 to 11.
Not so busy when I go. Quite a bit of choices and economical.
If you consider standing in line for an hour a workout, this is the gym for you!
Good gym in Burnaby but can be very crowded in the evening. Also you have to register your license plate at a station in the gym to get free parking
Clean and new equipment
Favorite gym
I called good life today and Chantell(the goodlife (representative) was very rude on phone. It was very dis satisfactory conversation. I have had accident and I'm not able to go to the gym so I called to talk about it and she hung up on me. Very insensitive. Worst customer service ever!! I'm regrating my decision of taking membership with Goodlife because they don't seem to care about customers and their situation.
Good equip, good price options, 24 hr access
I am still waiting for the club manager to call me back regarding monthly payments and the club charging me incorrectly. Will update once the manager actually decides to rectify the issue.
Tristan was very helpful, I was looking for the component as an attachment for the dual pulley rowing machine equipment, Tristan was able to locate it for me, it was indeed an excellent customer service.
Great place and staff
Need to give us free wifi
They have day passes for $15 CAD. The gym is perfect size and they have a variety of classes to choose. Very clean and well kept.
Busy I can deal with filthy I can not. Always dirty......everywhere. Considering cancellation once or twice is ok but it’s dirty in here all the time.
Corporate would rather rip you off with dishonest and immoral billing practices than build long term relationships with customers. They are allergic to doing the right thing. As a result, they lose more revenue on a long term basis than they gain from short term, sleazy policies. All my friends and family will now be cancelling. Do not support this company, and dont let your network either.
Convenient gym with great membership plans and a variety of ways to help you have a good life.
No towels every night eventhough paying for the most expensive membership and the changing room is always dirty. Always busy.Should have not left YMCA
Out of all the gyms I’ve been to and had memberships at, this is the best. 5/5 my perfect workout environment
Dishonest and thieving billing system. Had a positive account balance before covid struck as money was put onto the account via credit card. During covid they did implement a freeze on accounts rather than having everyone cancel memberships. The system takes money out but then gives it back again as a separate transaction. Had this freeze throughout covid and to this day but at one point the system did not put back the money. Now trying to get my money back for their system error is turning out to be a real pain. Three phone calls to the gym, two trips to the gym, and a long wait for head office. Billing is all jammed up with head office control so you don’t have a person to talk to directly who has the power to do anything.
This gym location is very convenient for me. Comparing other gyms in this neighborhood, it has a wide variety of equipment. Due to covid restrictions only 50 people are allowed per session. Each session is one hour. There is a line up of registered members before the gym. It takes 5 minutes to enter into the gym. If you did not book in advance there is another line, this line is for no show or cancelation spots. With Good life app you can book your workout session. It's hard to get a spot if you not planned at least 3 days in advance. Once you enter the gym you will be left with 55 minutes to complete your workout. Most of the gym users are responsible, almost every disinfect the workout equipment. Most of the people have a habit of checking weight before and after workout. Unfortunately there is no weighing machine in the gym. Over all Its ok
Good good
Over sold. Probably the busiest location I've seen in the Western half of Canada. Don't bother coming unless you don't mind a lineup at every machine and bench.
Really wanted to like this gym. Decent equipment and close to home. But this place is waaaaay too busy. Always having to wait for equipment. They need to double or triple the size of the gym to accommodate the number members they have. It's only going get worse with increasing number of condos going up in the area
Probably the best gym in Burnaby. Has everything you need. There are plenty of classes. Has a bicycle room and a studio. Sauna is included of course. Full members can also bring a +1 so it can be perfect for a couple that goes together.
Good facility, but the gym has just become over crowded. It's become a hangout place for these kids. Takes too long to use equipment. Management needs to realize that they need to stop selling memberships otherwise people will start looking for other gyms to go to !!!
I'm so frustrated I feel like giving 1 star, but (most of) the equipment works and it's open 24 hours. And, I don't know, I guess it's not on fire? GoodLife Sovereign, how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways: 1: no WiFi - I've been complaining every week since I joined 6 months ago. Not new technology Guys. Said the equipment' been in place for months - they just haven't been allowed to turn it on. 2: numbers are rubbed off on the weight stacks - complained to the manager, lied and said they'd fix it. 3: almost zero clips available for the 18 Olympic bars - complained to the manager, lied and said he'd get some more. 4: never any towels available - they're always "in the laundry". Maybe get some more? 5: weights litter the floor like beer cans after a Kid Rock concert. Never seen a staff member put them away. 6: Staff couldn't care less what's happening on the floor. A fight could break out and they wouldn't stop leaning against the desk and gabbing to each other. 7: bags litter the floor. They're everywhere. 8: half the time there's no one at the desk at all when I go there. They sure aren't out on the floor or cleaning up the locker room. On a smoke break? The other night I stood at the desk for 15 minutes just out of curiosity. No one. Searched the gym. No staff anywhere. Went back to the desk. Decided to call. Phone rang 40 times, no machine. Called back five times and let it ring. That's a total of 200 rings. Nobody ever showed up. I finally got bored with this game and went behind the counter, grabbed a towel out of the drawer. Could've taken anything I wanted. 8: spit in the sinks 9: urine on the toilet seats 10: wet towels all over the floor of the locker room 11: no way to complain. This one goes without saying. They simply do not care.
The gym itself has new equipment and has a good layout. The manager, Ben is friendly and very good with members. The personal trainers are for the most part, rude, not friendly and cold. Considering Mark is in charge of the personal trainers, its not surprising. They work out during peak hours and are too busy with there noses up in the air. Most of them, would never get a job at a Vancouver gym. I would suggest to the owners, to send people from head office to work out and you will see from the minute you walk in, the very poor customer service that you will receive.
Good classes
My choice of gym
A great fitness centre in downtown Burnaby. Gets very busy at certain times but the convenience is the best value.
Awful commutation between business and clients. Using their app to book sessions is a nightmare. I’ve tried calling 6 times to your gym to fix an issue on my app not letting me book and not one person has answered the phone and I know and have seen how many employees work there. They are more focused on talking to each other rather than helping. Very poor business practice from this gym.
It is ok. Not a lot of equipments and always crowded.
Lots of equipments to choose for your workout.
Great gym with impeccably clean conditions, amazing facilities. The dry sauna and the massage chairs are worth a membership alone.
The staff is amazing, the manager is a total stud and it’s by far the best gym in the area.
worst customer service ever. super unprofessional. they keep telling me the wrong information over the phone. I cancelled my membership because of them. don't recommend. They need 30 days before cancelling!! be careful!
Very good gym. Always improving and always thinking about the happiness of their customer.
Too much crowded
I have had a membership with Goodlife since 2016, which means absolutely nothing to them, as I was charged, and my was membership deleted over the Pandemic period. I was looking forward to the reopening, but was given very little notice or details as most accounts were frozen since closure. Due to this fact, I was not made aware until the deletion of my account that I was charged several months of service I didn't even use, or made aware was available. The issue? My banking information was not updated and going back to the gym was, let's be honest not a priority during a Pandemic. This is a company that cares more about taking your money than its customers. I highly suggest you support a local gym instead. Goodlife is Greedy, Unapologetic and above all a Waste of Time!
please lower your prices to how you had them before
Great group fitness classes
Gym is always at capacity with Covid restrictions. And you have to book a week in advance when possible ,plus youre limited to an hour which honestly I need more time and now you can't even shower, a place where you clean yourself with soap. Why can't they quickly wipe those down?. Also I was charged without notice when my account was on freeze and the situation still hasn't been corrected.
So far I like that location, staff are very welcome and sauna is very good one.
One of the most well maintained and well equipped gym in the city...its great to see the separate women section with proper training materials.. parking is at P2 level which is free provided you register your vehicle at the gym entrance.. Showers and washrooms are almost always clean ..overall nice and relaxing environment....
A bit busy location. Lots of open space. Not very well staffed. Equipment is very modern.
Exemplary staff member: I came to a piece of equipment and the previous guy didn't wipe it down, despite COVID-19 policies. Honestly, I expected that sometimes, and I would've just wiped it myself. One staff saw this, and set the example by making this person come back and wipe it down. Couldn't ask for better diligence!
opened 24 hours, clean facilities, and hot girls here and there
Love this place & great staff and clean change room

too many members, Impossible to train.
Since covid this place has gone down hill! Booking and only getting an hr to workout . Realistically I'm not paying to wait . They keep signing new members up and it's impossible to book unless you are the first one up at 12am. Every good trainer and employee has already left this God awful place. Cleaning protocol. Yet have I ever seen anyone clean ..go elsewhere . Obvious management doesn't care or the Head office . It's all about the money here. I tell everyone I know NOT to sign up here ..maybe a different location is managed better.
Nice facility and location but it's always crowded. You spend more time waiting for the equipment than actually working out...
Answer my questions.
No wifi?
AVOID IF YOU CAN! Trust me, its not worth it... No one will help you out if you get into any problem with their shady app. After having an issue with the booking system called them multiple times with no result. Every time they will pass you on to a department that does not reply, so it is a roller coaster... Currently in process of getting membership somewhere else. What a waste of time...
Wow, I'm surprised with so many negative reviews. It'd be wise not to go anywhere near this gym.
Well equipped, unfortunately way too busy usually. There’s no tanning bed available. There should be more locations in the GVA.
This organization has shown extremely fraudulent policies around membership cancellation and created an unacceptable membership experience for my mom for whom English is not the first language. In person at this branch, my mom was told that cancellations must be processed via "goodlife head office" over email or phone - Their website clearly states that a cancellation can be processed in person per the attached photo directly from their website. The corporate line is only available 9AM - 5PM EST, which is highly restrictive for west coast customers. Why is there a 30 day notice requirement for cancellation? Why is this not a self service option via the membership login on their website? These conflicting policies create a predatory environment for community members like my mom who is not tech-savvy. Unacceptable. I hope the executive leadership for Goodlife finds themselves an ethics commissioner.
Great community. I loved Shannon’s RPM (full house) and other workout classes with upbeat vibes and music. The facility is great with ample equipments in a bright and spacious environment. Monthly membership cost is reasonable though the personal training is more costly and would be better if they’re more individually customized based on training needs.
Good location and equipments
Best in the area, decent price (approximately $35 biweekly on a 1 year commitment)
This Gym has everything I am looking for, it has all the equipment to keep my fitness goals in check! lots of squat racks, good classes and its own spin studio - saves me money on soulcycle lol
The best gym in Bc . Space is big so you can always find space between others . The facilities are great . Staffs are very friendly... Only one thing sometimes happens pretty annoying that the weights lifting area is a bit noisy . Some young members dropped the heavy weights very fast so made a huge noise which mostly women don’t like it and I guess some new beginners are not like this too . Hope the manage can notice this to improve. Grateful . ????????????❤️
It takes minute to set up your membership, and a year to cancel it. Worst customer-service experiences
Very spacious, nice equipment. Would have been 5 stars but everything in here is slightly off center. There's a squat rack that's very crooked and even the mirrors at the free weights are on a diagonal. Really threw me off my game.
(Translated) Since I have a fitness card, I go to the gym every day. The coach is very good. The charge is a bit high. (Original) 自从办了健身卡 基本天天都去健身 教练很好 就是收费有点高
They make it so hard for you to cancel your membership.
I loved it here, but it is sooo overcrowded now ..
Large gym with good equipment
I love the variety of equipment as well as the atmosphere at this gym. I just wish there were more GoodLife locations in Vancouver so that this location wasn’t so packed all the time. It’s hard to get a good workout in when the gym is overcrowded. Usually have to go at 11pm or later to avoid waiting for benches or machines. The locker room is modern with lots of space but it is always dirty. Garbage, dirty towels, used Kleenex, etc scattered all over the place. A little more effort needs to be put into keeping things neat and tidy in general.
Incredible
Great facility, insanely busy.
By far the Best gym in the lower mainland.
I go here every day so obviously I love it.
Nice place, however, there are enough towels
I did the one year membership and after less than one month I'm happily paying $99 for the cancellation so I don't need to be stressed with the worst service I've seen here in Canada. I'm from Brazil, I'm used with bad services. This was bad even for Brazilian standards. I'll list some issues: - They will try to make you assign for personal trainer. You say no because you are willing to pay $60 and not $1000 per month, and they will say that you are responsible for your workout plan, no one is gonna help you, you go there and do it by yourself. Surprise surprise! In my case I knew what I was doing, I have lots of friends in Brazil who workout a lot, I myself did that some years, and one of them that was helping me is a body builder. So, I knew how to handle the weights, the right position, the right movements. I saw lots of people doing wrong stuff, wrong movements, getting lots of weight and destroying their backs in the process. My initial struggle was to translate the names of the equipments, easily solved, but with no help. It's not that you need a personal trainer, but you need at least someone watching the place, not only to spot those people that are hurting themselves, but to watch other situations like below. - The place is big, but the main machines are not sufficient. Good luck to find a free bench so you can lift your weight. I've seen people on the benches chatting or using their cellphones. I went to the bike and half an hour latter, the same people were in the same bench chatting or using their cellphones. You program yourself to do 1 hour of training (what is totally possible depending on you level) and you do that in 2 hours or don't do it completely. - I went there basically Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. I tried 10PM, 9PM, 8PM, 7PM. Always the same issues. I cancelled my membership by the morning and.... it was crowded as I could see and the benches (where the main exercises are done) were all occupied, as always. - The changing rooms are not that clean and crowded. - If you pay to have the right of have a company (in my case, my wife), your partner will always have to carry the ID and always fill a piece of paper at the entrance. Very nice when you arrive there and there are like 5 people to sign the piece of paper. All the forms are digital, your profile is digital. But the partner permit is made on a piece of paper every time. Your partner forgot the ID? He/she can't enter, doesn't matter if you (the affiliate) are telling the person is with you. - Too many unusual machines and the main ones are too few. Example: they have two triceps push downs, always busy. You can use other machines to do this exercise but again, you don't find the right bar (triceps bar) and in general they are always busy too. - Leg machines are too few. That's terrible mainly for women that in general do lots of leg workout. The list can go on and go on... Other weird thing was the "personal trainer" telling me that workout machines are for beginners. First of, as I said before, I have lots of friends that workout, they are strong, they've been working out for more than ten years. They all use machines. The machines help you with posture. On that moment I could realize that even if I paid for personal training, I would be tricked into doing exercises that I can do at home and keep paying that forever. If I'll pay lots of money for a personal trainer: 1- The person needs to know a lot more than me. 2- I choose the person, because the name is personal trainer, it's personal. Not the gym randomly points the first one that is free at that time.
Don't ever sign up for the personal training sessions with Good Life Fitness. I signed up my PT sessions with them, pre-paid (worst mistake). The trainers kept leaving, and I had to change the trainer 3 times. On the third-time, I got pregnant and decided to hold back on training so I told them I wasn't ready to go back yet. I also kept getting the emails that I missed the sessions even after I reschedule my session with the trainer, it seems like they are very unorganized. Then the pandemic hits. Now the baby's older, I called yesterday about my sessions, apparently they expired last May. I told them I was never told that they could expired when I signed up, nor when I told them I need to put my sessions on hold . After several conversations exchanged, not they agree to reinstate my sessions, but I would have not signed up with them again.
When they first opened they had like 3 squat racks and 100 treadmills, so I complained about the imbalance. A few months later they removed some cardio machines, and added more squat racks! Yay! Staff are helpful and friendly. Equipment and change rooms are clean and well maintained. BodyPump classes are great! (Both in studio and virtual.) Unfortunately it gets extremely busy during peak hours, you have to stalk machines and dodge gym bags lying on the floor. Best to go in the morning or after 10pm (lol). Also, in the women's area, instead of a squat rack there's a Smith machine... :(
So busy. One giant box. And the bathrooms, gross.
It's a very busy gym so have a goal plan to assist you. if you can't find a chair to work on, then find something else which targets whatever area you wish to handle. If you do find yourself feeling frustrated since your plans aren't going well due to heavy crowd and feel the need to complain, do yourself a favour and stay home since you probable lack creativity!
Visiting Van and attended thus GL. Very spacious and clean Goodlife. Very friendly staff. Women's Only is often old equipment and cramped for space, but this is the nicest Women's Only I think I've seen in the country.
Unpleasant experience signing up as a new member. I had an appointment to sign up as a new member and I arrived on time, yet waited for additional 20min. Apparently, the man who was supposed to help me was present at the time however, the welcoming staff didn’t bother to let the man know that I was there waiting for him. I explained to the welcoming staffs multiple times that I AM HERE FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO REGISTER AS A NEW MEMBER, but it took them a while to figure out that I wasn’t here for an empty available slot to workout. In the end, I understood that some of the welcoming staffs were new to the job and it will take them some time to familiarize themselves with job. HOWEVER, this wasn’t my concern at all. At first, the man who helped me to register as a new member seemed nice. He apologized to me that Goodlife had made me wait for so long. And then we went through some information and when we sat down to view different membership plans, he suggested the ultimate biweekly pass and I agreed to it. The main reason I chose Goodlife out of all the other gym is because many of my friends go here and they offer 1 time FREE PT TRIAL. I already knew about this opportunity as a new member, yet when I asked him about this multiple times he said there is no such thing and showed me $59, one time personal training session. I thought it was strange because one of my friend recently signed up for Goodlife and received pt trial. Anyways, I thought the policy has changed due to covid 19 or sth and the man asked another staff at the counter to finish me up. I took photo and left Goodlife, talking to my friends about it and I realized they haven’t gave me any of the new member gifts(?) like Goodlife bag and bottle so I headed back to the gym. When I was waiting for the appointment, I saw them giving away fitness bag to some other couple so I thought they simply forgot so it was understandable. However, I didn’t feel good because it felt like they were just treating me differently from other members (maybe cuz I’m young Asian woman? Not sure) and while their attitudes seem to be polite, it was obvious that they weren’t paying attention to what I say. I approached to one male staff to ask something but he just said I don’t know and went onto cleaning door. I felt ignored and little ashamed but I still managed to talk to other welcoming staff about bag, and PT. In the end the female staff seemed to know about this offer and signed me up for free PT saying there’s many available trainer for my selected date. It seems like I’m obsessed with free PT but I’m actually not. I am really concerned about their attitudes and if PT trial was deserved for every new customers, I find it unfair that they ONLY OFFER IT FOR SELECTED new member. And if the man who helped me register was unaware of this, he could have at least asked other staff to make sure whether his info was incorrect or not. If you don’t have much info about what they offer I think they will take advantage of your ignorance and decide not to provide equal level of service (During the tour, the male staff had enough time to figure out that I was new to the workout and first time signing up for the gym.) I think I asked for what I deserve as an every new member of Goodlife but at the end of the day I feel like a jerk. If what I asked for has been changed and is no longer in your offer I will definitely apologize, but I couldn’t find any info about this from their website so there’s no way that I know ????
The price was fairer last years but it is expensive now. Very busy also but all in all not bad
Thief broke in the locker. The help from the club is to give me a phone and dial 911 for me. In fact, I should dial RCMP Burnaby. The club has no intention to track down the thief.
Excellent location! One of the best GoodLife locations I have visited!
Is amazing!! The staff is so nice and you can find everything in there! Love it
It was my first time at this gym in a long time and the first time since the COVID-19 crisis. I'm super impressed with how the staff is handling the situation. The gym is also huge so plenty of space to workout without having anyone in your way.
Best place for gym
It has all the options for you for complete fitness
Been to many gyms but this is the worst ever been to . No resistance band no foam rollers . Despite having so many equipments .
I have been your client for a year now. Unfortunately, I got an unpleasant experience with membership policy during this difficult time. I often follow the news and knew about when the gyms open. However, for some reason, my e-mail was not registered in your system and I did not receive updates. On the 25th of June, I went to the GoodLife website and saw the information that you need to register in order to get to the gym. (Since I didn’t have my e-mail information entered, I decided to register and see what is available.) I registered for one gym class, but unfortunately I could not go because my schedule is very unstable and I can’t find the exact time for classes. After I missed one lesson, I received an e-mail with a warning. Unfortunately, I did not like this, because I can not know the exact time for gym classes. After that, some time passed and I thought that I would no longer be charged for membership. However, on July 10, money was withdrawn from me. I decided to ask for help in support on Saturday, July 10th. The support service told me that it is only possible to suspend the fee for August, but it is impossible to make a refund for July. I need to contact the manager specifically at the Metrotown location. I tried to reach Metrotown location, but no one answered. Next, I decided to come to the manager’s working hours (Monday through Friday). I came to GoodLife at Metrotown today, Monday 13 July, and talked to the manager. However, I was told that a refund is not possible. I am very disappointed with this statement, since I do not plan to visit the gym this month and my money has been spent on nothing. At this time, this is very upsetting.
Decent gym, WAY too much cardio equipment and WAY too busy for their size, came in in the morning at 6 am and I couldn't get a squat rack so I made it a cardio day and decided to come back for legs another day went to do my ab routine and the whole mat area is full, pay way too much to not be able to do my workout when I want to
This place is BUSY. Staff were quick to answer questions and were friendly even though they were running around. Equipment was new and kept clean, but lineups due to the mass of people. Also has a machine at the entrance that will validate parking.
Great environment; friendly and professional staff!
Lazy workers and kind of grossed out how there is a needle disposale box in the dressing rooms lol i guess its better to have a disposale rather than people throwing their dirty needles everywhere
If you are looking for the gym with full facilities and large, it’s the right place for you. I like that they have general sections and women section. The location is great, only 5 minutes to Metrotown. I like coming here. +++++++ However, it’s my personal problem that I met. I used the personal training. I selected 1-year contract and in that time the PT told me that it’s only $500 cancellation fee. Then something came up with me during the covid, I had to cancel but I needed to pay $1163. I feel unfair to pay the full price because I was deceived about the cancellation fee. Then I still have 4 sessions left for the personal training. After I cancelled the personal training, the personal trainer NEVER reply to me as before. I don’t want to waste my money, as I have 4 sessions left I want to be training. I feel so upset. Overall: I like the facility of this gym, but it’s very poor management. I feel so disappointed even though I like the gym so much, I will cancel my membership after clearing this problem. I want to warn you to DO NOT USE the personal training otherwise you may face a problem like me.
(Translated) The best so far. (Original) Najbolja do sada.
Ben & the team at Burnaby Sovereign are fantastic! They not only run a very welcoming gym but they also support youth events in our community. A big thank you for your recent generous donation to our track club's fundraiser.
false advertising - not 24 hours
Always compact and busy. Some People who works out here doeas not have courtesy. Will need atleast one more smith machine in women's section as it gets very busy there too lol. I personally like to go to Northgate one better. ✌
App doesnt work alot of the time and has many bugs so how can i book workouts? I called in for assistance and they said to bad you can try walking in and you MIGHT get in. I pay for my corporate membership i dont want a MIGHT. Very frustrating system and time consuming. Why do gyms like Steve Nash not have a capacity limit or have to book workouts? u can go anytime
Tried to up charge me on a membership then I was about to leave telling them another gym was giving me better price they slashed it in half. Don't like being tricked
Horrible cancellation policies. Horrible customer service. Never have towels available. (Probably because staff never check which level membership people have and give towels to anyone) Always super busy, that you find yourself spending a lot of time waiting for machines. That about sums it up..
(Translated) Nice place. But insufficient for everyone .. they need more gadgets (Original) Bonito lugar. Pero insuficiente para todos.. necesitan más aparatos
Nice gym overall but they need to have a attitude adjustment for some female workers out of high school either they have no common sense or just think to highly of them selves with there kid mentality Rebecca and Robuyo or whatever her name is
It's a good gym with great equipment , just people have to use common sense a pick up after themselves, putting away weights in the correct spot. It's very frustrating when you go to the gym and it's a mess, when someone joins, just simply show or tell them how to put away the weights
Visited with a friend. I felt like they force you to sign up for membership and they have the most expensive gym ever for what they offer. I was not impress with the amenities. There are far better gyms around.
I have been here less tham a month awful experience they are over capacity there is no more room they let 50 people's at the time due to the COVID19 rest of members waiting 30 minutes behind the door and they can't get in for workout, the online workout appointment booking is always fully booked for the whole month you can't catch one.
Good setup but badly managed. NO Towels available during rush hr and dirty changing rooms.
Great place to workout
Does the amazing management here ever plan on opening the third bench press? How does it make any sense to keep that taped off but yet all the pulley machines are 6inches apart from each other and you can breath on people? Ohhhhh yeeeeeaaaahh????…..!
Good gym, newest machine, nice staff but very full at peak times
Be aware. They have a funny policy. I held my membership on hold for a trip and pregnancy. They resumed my membership a month ago and started taking out money from my bank account without any further notice. I called the headquarter and explained I cannot go back to the gym as this is 10th month of my pregnancy, but still no refund was issued. I was originally planning to go back to the gym after delivery but just cancelled my membership. I will not go back to Goodlife.
The staff is friendly and professional, they have enough machines and weights for a lot of people at once, and they have large changerooms and showers. Kinda exactly what anybody looks for in a gym.
Having an awesome time at GoodLife fitness Burnaby.if you're looking for a welcoming atmosphere with state-of-the-art equipment look no further than GoodLife fitness Burnaby. For all of your fitness needs and anyone looking to take their fitness to the next level see my friend Tami and get yourself set up, many thanks Jerry :-)
Staffs are very very very unprofessional, always have an attitude not sure what that is? Never offers towel service even after they know this was paid by the member, always have to stand there and wait until they see you..always have side conversations, checking on their phone.. Terrible!! Today for example, there was lady who was being super lound, disrespectful to others and F bombing the whole time she was working out. However, i didnt see any staff memeber to approach that lady to educate her about the member's code of conduct. The whole staff needs to go thourgh some trainings for bettter customer service and GLF code of conduct.
Crowded gym. Better off going somewhere else
Lots of equipment and big facility. Peak hours are after 4pm so it can get real busy.
Clean and nice location.
Busy. No one puts weights back. Huge mess.
I had a membership with Goodlife but I cancelled it. I called in I spoke to three different people. Front desk Goodlife at Toronto and GoodLife in Burnaby where I was told to come down and get a refund. I don't work there and so whatever they said I listened. I was helped by the assistant manager on 2021-11-09 because the front desk don't know what I am talking about. I also had a free pass for a free workout. The assistant manager told me they don't do refunds which was a waste of my time because I went out of my way to see what's going on. However, I told him I booked a free workout. The guy also denied me my guest pass as well and said drop in is $25 for previous members after saying they don't do refunds "bluntly". My membership cancelled during the pandemic which was past five months but I guessed he didn't care. Guest pass applies to people who were non-members for the past three months which was kind of sad and on their website. Overall, I think they should provide better communication and billing. It was unfortunate to hear my card get charged around $112 when no one was using it and then be told to pay another $25. Respectfully, everyone else is nice though.
Do you like to book your workouts 1.5 weeks in advance to get a spot? This is the gym for you. Do you like to then ask for a refund and have the staff give you 3-4 inactive email addresses to contact? This is the gym for you. Do you like to pay $75 a month for a gym membership and not be able to work out at all? This is the gym for you. Do you like gyms with useless unprofessional staff? This gym is PERFECT for you. TL;DR This is a clown fiesta of a Gym, go to any other gym.
Well deserving of 5 stars , lots of new equipment, spin classes, body pump classes, immaculate change rooms, Outfitted with saunas. Open 24 hours .
This gym / location could be great. 1. Go back to 24 hours. Permanently! When the gyms first reopened after its closure last year, the 6 am - 11 pm schedule didn’t seem bad. Now that everything has gone back to “”normal”” there should be no excuse. I wish I could go the gym at 6 am, but my work schedule doesn’t allow me too. Therefore I’m playing the waiting game with all the young kids in the evening.. Like no I dont want to wait 30 minutes for a squat rack to free up, because they are busy socializing in a group. 2. Most of the staff at the front desk aren’t very welcoming. They lack customer service skills. It seems like they pick and choose who they want to help - you work in a customer service role do your damn job. BE WELCOMING & FRIENDLY TO EVERYONE! 3. Overall cleanliness is starting to lack. Equipment looks disgusting. Also, as the day progresses the staff seem not to care about the upkeep of paper towel and spray bottles available. The bathroom also bathroom/change rooms start to look dingy! I hope yall get it together quick, because I would hate to cancel my membership.
Love this location! Staff is awesome and knowledgeable, trainers are very good, it does get busy during peak times but that’s just cause everyone wants to go there because of how good it is ;) 5/5!!!
This branch is managing by the group of arrogant fools.
Friendly staff, clean gym, and the equipment is in good condition!
Really shady business in my opinion. 1) they don't offer any pricing information; you have to sit through a 40 minute appointment before they'll even discuss pricing and 2) they DEMAND your bank account information, don't accept credit cards or manual payment EVEN IF YOU SIGN UP FOR A NO CANCELLATION FEE MEMBERSHIP. Then they tried to give me these bullshit, half-assed excuses and justifications as to why they only accept bank accounts. 3) they use very aggressive high pressure sales tactics and try to get you to milk the maximum possible amount of money from you. Long story short, the 45 minute appointment was a total waste of my time. I was bullshitted throughout the entire thing, I was hit with every sales tactic there is and they didn't tell me until the very end that they REQUIRE a bank account number. They will give you excuses and justifications for everything they do. Don't listen to them, they're full of crap. I work in billing and sales, the only reason they have all those policies is to make the most money possible and to make it difficult for you to cancel. (I wrote a long rant, but I was over the character limit... By a loooooot. Don't waste your time with these clowns) Prices: Regular: $9/week (~$39/mo) Sign up fee: 1 year commitment $50 (cancellation fee was $90 or $99) No commitment: $80 Premium: $13/week (~$56/month) Sign up is free with 1 year commitment ($90-99 cancellation fee) $50 signup with no commitment
Great facility , top quality Equiptment . Very clean.
This gym is extremely packed during the evenings I usually have to wait 5 - 15 mins to use a bench press or squat rack. Also, staff seem to just hang around at the front desk talking to each other. Not really worth the expensive fees.
Scam!!!!! There is a guy called Omar working in the gym and he scammed me. I paid 80$ extra because of him and they wont do anything about it. So much hidden stuff with this gym. Be careful while signing up with them and especially omar . The service is so poor when I asked for a refund. Complete loss for trusting these people. I asked them “ why are you scamming me” and they replied “your loss, sorry!”
Extremely pricy and no personal trainers available to help you and give you tips for free. Would not recommend
Hella packed in the gym
need to book
5 squat racks, enough said
Awesome gym
Good equipment and facilities, gets pretty busy tho. If you've been to Richmond Nightmarket, then yeah that's almost how it is during busy hours, like late afternoons/early evening.
Please put a GoodLife fitness gym in north Vancouver with a swimming pool. North Vancouver needs a private gym with a swimming pool
Busy but it's got enough power racks and platforms, etc.
I canceled my membership with goodlife few months ago. They suddenly started charging me again saying it was accidentally put on hold instead. Wont give me my money back even though i wont even use the gym. Charging me even though it was their fault. Finally canceled the membership but still got paid for months even though didnt use. This place is a rip off.
Stop sighing up more people.
SOME OF THE RECEPTIONISTS NEED TO LEARN SOME MANNER! Some of them don't have nice manner in greeting the clients. Especially that ASIAN GUY WITH GLASSES, he selects clients whom he would like to greet and always has nasty grimace on his face like if he was forced to get that job.
I had an unpleasant conversation with one of the staff member in GoodLife Metrotown. After my injury I am attending a physiotherapy located inside GoodLife gym, and I was told that I may use the gym facility for recovery. One lady receptionist approached me during my work out. She started asking me questions like when is my appointment and why am I here. The way she talked to me was rude. I regret I did not ask her name. That was unpleasant experience and even I was going to sign up for member ship in GoodLife after finishing the physiotherapy, now I will definitely be using other facilities but GoodLife Metrotown.
This place is bad, so crowded that there is barely enough room to stand let alone work out. Not only that but there is kids farting around on all the racks and bench presses while people are waiting. Zero awareness. Avoid at all costs unless you're going in the middle of the night.
Always busy unless it's Sunday morning or evening. Busy until 12 am on most days. Have to wait around for equipment a lot of the time.
Gym is fine but how does a facility that charges so much not have wifi
Too many people and too many that workout without paying attention to other people that workout so you end up waiting for machines filled with butts that use their cellphones while testing for more than 5 mins at a time. Best to go in the wee mornings if you plan on a more decent work out
Good location. Lots of equipment to use.
Terrible service, assistant manager doesn’t know what he is doing to service his customers, would not recommend. Not a good booking schedule. Not willing to go above and beyond for their customers, the countless one star reviews on this page clearly showcase the the neglected criticism and the lack of care by the management of this organization. The area manager Michael is great manager and he cares but this does not trickle down to the lower level managers.
I switched from a different gym recently because I wanted to go to a 24 hour gym. The staff has been amazing! I have loved my experience so far. When I signed up I was told a lot of great things about the gym. I didn’t expect much but I’m happy to say it has all been true so far. The gym is well maintained and the atmosphere is awesome and encouraging. I have been exceeding my goals and hope to continue to do so!
Some sort of pyramid scheme. First red flag is that it's impossible to get membership pricing information on the website or even over the phone. You have to come in for a scheduled appointment in person and sit through a 20 minute shpeel on how great they are and get handed some sort of "how to live a good life" bible by their CEO. Then the fun starts - they offer you a choice of half a dozen packages, each with it's hidden fees and limits and in the end try to demand your personal and bank account (!) information to sign up. They won't just take an upfront payment or credit card. I just want to come and work out a few times a week, not get a mortgage for a condo. No thanks. The place looks pretty new and clean, though, in a brand new hotel building, very centrally located.
Nobody said I need one month notice to cancel membership, the guy who named Roberto is very rude and disrespectful.
goodlife is not good ???? I have membership with them and just go to Gym once per a week, and I wanted to bring a guest once but I wasn't allowed. Poor service
very clean and friendly atmosphere.
I understand it's covid and all,but have to book 2 weeks in advance to workout for an hour without the reduction of membership fees is just not acceptable.
Please Be aware of this place! There is no more room for new members in here and they are keep registering new members. Due to the COVID19 they let only 50 peoples at the time and they are already over the capacity. You can't get in to workout unless you have appointment while they are always fully booked for the whole month, it will be waste money and time for you like me I have got the membership almost a month ago paying $70 month and I could barely got the chance to workout here just less than afew times.
a little to busy for me at all time the North gate location is seems to be a better environment
It's so big and nice looking, I had a good time :)
I love this gym. It's big and clean.
The gym is ok but the staff is not, PAIN TO CANCEL MEMBERSHIP
Came here for a few workouts while in Burnaby. The gym is extremely clean, and the machines/washrooms are all very new. The staff is also friendly and accommodating. This gym is a little bit busy, but you can always get what you're looking for. Definitely recommended if you're in the area and in need of a workout!
This gym is supposed to be 24hrs and they recently went back to that schedule but only for 3 weeks. Now they're back to non-24hrs. If the lougheed location has the capability to remain 24hrs, so should this one.
Love this gym! Been going to GoodLife for 5 years now, and couldn't be happier! The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for a gym in Burnaby, even if you live in Vancouver, this one is worth the drive!
Its a busy but clean gym. I moved from another gym to this one because its so huge and has great classes. When I got injured and couldn't go to the gym for awhile they put a hold on my membership without any issues. Definitely recommend this location. :)
Visiting Vancouver and thought to check out the gym and work out a bit. First of all they have hard time finding me in their system, it took about 15 minuets to figure out that I do have a membership that I can go to any goodlife across Canada. And after workout when I asked for towel they said I have to wait for half an hour for it because they all in dryer, are you kidding me? This was the worst experience I had with goodlife location. I didn’t pay high price for such a terrible customer service.
Staff so nice and open layout gym
Customers oriented, responsive and cares about people.
They back charged me for the month they couldnt because of covid. Only reason I found out was looking at my bank account the bill was double the usual amount, thats a nice surprise after my work was shutdown april to aug. The covid capacity is a joke, its packed in there and no one wears masks. But they did remove the rowers, because thats "to risky" due to heavy breathing or so im told by the staff. Pretty disappointed in the way they handled their billing during this situation.
When I signed up for this gym I was told 24/7, 365 days....but no they’re closing on holidays.
The gym equipment is great but their staffs are lacking in education I made an appointment at 9am for my workout (this is the new policy that the gym imposed for covid-19, and i followed and respected this policy). I arrived 20 mins late due to unforseen circumstances, but was prepared to leave at the end of my time slot. The receptionist specified that I should finish my workout by 10 and I replied "of course, thank you" I wasted no time and started my workout right away. While doing my crunches, another receptionist came and interrupted my workout by rudely asking what my name was. She did not bother to say "excuse me" but merely looked at her device and demanded to know my name. She did this 3 times. On the second time she asked, I said nicely, "I already got checked at reception, do I need to do it again?" She didnt answer my question but rather demanded again what my name was. She didnt even contact my eyes and stared at her device ,there was no explanation at all. I finally gave her my name but felt disrespected by her attitude. This made me feel like I was being interrogated. After my workout, I went to see her manager. I asked for an apology but didnt get one. The manager refused to take reaponsibility for his staff's action and told me he cant force his staff to apologize. I understand things are different now with covid-19, but this establishment needs to improve on their procedure in checking their sign in registry in order to prevent rude interruptions of clients working out. I am making this review so people will know my frustrating experience I had at Goodlife Fitness burnaby.
Really nice gym! Am hoping you do go back to 24/hour soon though as it's nice and quiet at night and gives people more options! Sign says temporarily reduced hours so hopefully is just a short wait!
I love that it's a 24 hour gym (except for holidays which in this case it shouldn't be advertised as 24 hours) and it's close to home. However it is extremely busy all day until around 11:00pm. Front desk staff are overall friendly but some are lazy and go off working out during their shift or hang out with others and talk. When they are off slacking, people and their friends jump over the gate.
Enjoyed my visit at this location! Friendly staff! The only downside is that it was very busy when I went in the evening but thats kind of expected when you go to a gym at peak time
Great location
It has a fair amount of tools and stuff to do. But it is way too packed after 7-8pm. People get so intense during that time that making working out not enjoyable.
Signed up for this gym thinking that they'd live up to what I signed up for but I'm learning that they are not. They never have enough clean towels and one of the girls at the front desk told me that they only have 35 towels in the whole gym! I checked in every 20 minutes during my workout and they didn't have any clean towels whatsoever... Disspointed because I'm paying for this premium and they can't provide it. Moreover, the showers are pretty gross. There's been a finger nail stuck in one of the shower stalls in the women's room since I signed up in January and I just noticed there's a new one in there now too! Moreover, it seems like the people working there never check up on the machines (or anything) because there are water bottles sitting at treadmills and ellipticals for more than a day.... It is not my job to clean the gym, I pay for the gym to be clean.
Haven't used the parking yet, but I see there is parking validation which is great. Gym has been clean and a lot of equipment with decent space between them. It is busy after working hours up until before they close so be wary you will have to wait for some weights and machines. Try to come during off hours and you'll get through your workout quicker.
This fitness club removed money from my bank account without notice. Promised me 4 weeks free but charged me 23.09, 29.99, and now 6.90. Do not trust whatever they say. I've been trying to get a hold of their staff and their manager regarding this issue. Until now, NO RESPONSE. After they get your money, they will leave you hanging. I am truly disappointed.
Set up wifi !!!!
There is a prolific offender going around in the basement parking lot breaking into cars. Burnaby RCMP knows who you are as they lifted prints off of my car from the third time you broke into it and there is a warrant out for your arrest.
Spacious, clean, 24 hrs, has its own parking lot! Also offers personal trainers and classes
Try to cancel my membership few times , but seems no respond at all . So dissapointed with the service
Really nice gym, but also insanely busy... always. From 6am to 11pm it is packed. For anybody looking to get a serious workout in, this is not the spot.
Good life on north road, AMAZING! Metrotown good life, awful. And I’m not talking about the facility, I like their gym (even though north road is way bigger) it’s the employees and I have one word to describe them, LAZY. My boyfriend asked FOUR employees to help spot him for a heavy squat, all of them refused to help him, even though it would of only taken 30 secs. They gave lame excuses as to why they couldn’t help. Honestly they don’t even know how to properly train. Terrible at their job
TL;DR: Great gym space that suffers from extensively poor management decisions. Offering less features than competitors for more money. This is the first time I've ever felt the need to voice my displeasures and write a review. Originally I was just going to email the general manager. But instead, I will voice some of my displeasures in the form of a review. The overall gym space is fantastic, with around 10 squat racks, numerous benches and plenty of areas to perform deadlifts. This gym also has virtually every necessary machine you could think of. But that's really where the good ends... Where many commercial gyms have made the transition to a new "post-covid" world, Goodlife Fitness has failed to adapt. - Hours of Operation/ Not 24 hours: Its been a little over a year since commercial gyms have been allowed to reopen and Goodlife Fitness has yet to reinstate their 24 hour timeline. Conversely, other commercial gyms such as Anytime Fitness have been back to their regular 24/7 access since the reopening of commercial gyms. Unless there is some legislation that I have missed there is absolutely no excuse to not have returned to 24 hour operation. Furthermore, Goodlife fitness closes at 8:30pm on weekends. Meaning, the last scheduled booking is for 7:30pm...Despite all this, monthly fees have not been reduced and they remain one of the most expensive commercial chain gyms in the lower mainland. - Cross platform gym use. Unlike other commercial gyms that allow you to use any of their facilities once you've become a member, Goodlife fitness changes extra for that feature. - Covid Line Issues. By far one of the most frustrating aspects about attending the Metrotown Goodlife Fitness is simply lining up to get in. If you've never been to the gym, it is accessed via the 2nd floor. The second floor does not have an open floor plan, but is rather a long narrow corridor. The gym allows for 50 individuals to reserve spots for a gym session, and a further UNLIMITED amount of people to get on the "waitlist." Regardless of where you are positioned on the waitlist, the first 10 people in the waitlist line are granted access... So what ends up happening is you have anywhere from 30 - 70 people from both the reserved/waitlist all trying to line up (while trying to remain socially distanced) in a small area nowhere near large enough to accommodate them all. To add further chaos, you have all the people leaving the earlier gym session creating their own line in that SAME corridor to use the elevator to the parking lot (Max 2 people per elevator.) It truly is an absolute cluster**** To add insult to injury, the gym has laid out JUST 10 reserve spot "standing markers" and a further 3-4 waitlist markers...Like they're seriously only expecting 4 waitlisted individual's to show up. (Generally there's anywhere from 10-20) The direction of these "standing marker" premade lines make no sense either, with the waitlist line ending right in front of the "up" escalator after 4 individuals creating confusion on where the next person should stand. Id be generally curious as to know why they didn't wrap the line down the stairs and out the front door. Myself, as well as many others have made complaints to the staff which have obviously fallen on deaf ears. occasionally staff members will come out and scold everyone for not partaking in covid spacing, which generally gets a laugh out of everyone as its just not possible. No help is provided. To summarize, this fantastic space is ruined by inept management decisions that make you scratch your head.
Quite expensive
Wow????????????????What a great customer service just had at Goodlife fitness Burnaby. I would never recommend this place to anyone anymore!
Had bad experience today. I came to front desk asked for a towel, the reception girl told me I have no rights to have one. What I remember is I had the most expensive membership and kept this membership for more than two years, also I have brought 20+ friends and my customers to this location. I felt so frustrated and disappointed about this service.
For a such a big gym they have very little Olympic bars. They literally only have 1 bar for a squat rack so when some people decide to do deadlifts at other spots than squat racks then one can't do squats. Also, it's very unfair how trainers there go out on the general public floor to train their clients but when they occupy our machines we need to go to another empty machine but only ones available would be at times in the personal training area. When we go in there, trainers kick us out and say this area is for personal trainers and their clients only. Then where are we suppose to work out. I get the fact that when trainers use machines that aren't in the PT area but when you guys have a squat rack but still decide to use the ones that are outside then that limits us, the regular patrons to workout. Last thing, I pay good money to fully use the facility's amenity by paying the premium but at least couple of times a week they always run out of fresh towels which they promised to provide. And they tell me to come back later to pick them up. They really should constantly track and keep up with the towel demand and launder them more often.
Excellent facilities. Convenient location
Could use a little cleaning late at night. And many people are using flat bench to just sit down and check their social media. But overall it's a good place to have a workout.
i don't know why they forced me to pay for personal training. i had to repeat "sorry"..
sometimes busy, but good for life and fitness
Wayyyyy too crowded all the time. You need to go after 12am to fully use the gym. They need to either stop accepting new members or expand their facilities. I mean it, seriously.
(Translated) Great space and privacy (Original) Espaço e privacidade ótimo
DONT GET A GYM PASS HERE. ALWAYS AT MAX CAPACITY AND THEY DONT WARN YOU BEFORE HAND. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND MAKE YOU WAIT IN LINE FOR AN HOUR JUST TO NOT USE THE GYM. GO TO A DIFFERENT GYM
Great Facility without the Egos =)
A little packed at rush hours.
HORRIBLE GYM! Signed up and cancelled same day as it was insanely packed. I came back 3 different times throughout the day, and it was always busy!Told I would not be charged because I was within 14 days, lo and behold, 2 weeks later Goodlife takes money out of my bank account after I received their cancellation policy. What the hell Goodlife! WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!
Been told for over 2 years there will be internet which there isn't and the place is starting to become dirty and equipment broken down. A contract is a contract on what services and products your states will be provided. When it's not, it's not longer a contract
Great gym but is ridiculously busy all the time.
The gym has a great atmosphere and all the equipment is new. If anything is broken. It is usually fixed within a couple days. The staff is really friendly. The general manager (Ben) is really helpful every time i visit. I love working out at this gym and would highly recommend it to anyone.
good place to lift but main problem is that this place gets so busy sometimes i would give 5 stars if it wasn't for that
(Translated) Good place to exercise, it has many services, sauna, showers, it is worth the price to pay (Original) Buen lugar para hacer ejercicio, cuenta con muchos servicios, sauna, duchas, vale la pena el precio a pagar
I visit this location when I’m in town several times per year. Overall it’s large, bright and well-equipped. It does get busy so I end up looking at the hourly stats on Google to find a quieter time, which doesn’t really exist I guess. When I do go, I don’t think I’ve ever had a time when they actually have clean towels available. I’ve always had to return to the counter every so often to see if the laundry is done and even then the employees check the drawer to see if there are any expecting they somehow magically got replenished. On top of that, if I ask for a second towel to shower I get annoyed looks....I’m sorry to have interrupted you braiding each others’ hair. Also perhaps write parking instructions near the machines in the parkade. I end up paying only to come up to the club and see people signing in on the computer in the corner. Still have to say it’s one of the nicest GL locations I’ve been to...!
This gym is beyond good. Before the pandemic they were amazing, but since the pandemic theyve gotten even BETTER.The staff is so on top of making sure to clean , enforce the masks and cleaning. The staff ALWAYS have a huge smile and are willing to help with pretty much anything. I dont even see them as workers at the gym, everyone here is a friend. Theyre so welcoming and helpful if you want to join a gym do yourself a favour and join good life Metrotown. They have some of the best employees ive ever met anywhere not only at a gym. Ilona, Stephen and the whole team are AMAZING cant rave about everyone here enough!!!
great place clean and equipment is good lots of space and staff are awesome
Nice place
Left hand in this company does not know what the right one does. Moved here from another province and changed the membership plan. For over 2 months they tried to fix the payment plan, ended up owing me over 100$. No effort has been done to fix it, until I had to come to the gym during day and speak with the manager to take care of it personally. Don't sign up here, if you ever have any issues, nobody will help you unless you go out of your way.
Came to Burnaby on a work trip and the gym staff was very welcoming making getting in my competition prep while away easy and stress free. Thank you!
Good facilities
Jean and Clarence from LifeMark provided excellent physiotherapy treatment 10/10 would reccomend! Definitely worth my trip out of Richmond to be treated. Great to be located inside a gym and Jean was able to assess and perscribe exercises for selfcare.
My girlfriend had a 6 session pass when she first signed up a membership card with Goodlife. The personal trainer is out of responsibility, 2 sessions (2 hours) for your basic info collection and 2 sessions left that they even forgot to mention that. Once you sign up a membership card, they do not care at all. Very bad experience with this location.
I been there yesterday no social Distance almost no one clean after workout and the staff work there no one check about the clean when the members work I can't complete my workout yesterday from 9 to 10 pm have more people than any time
Super busy at peak time and the men's washroom are too dirty, i hope they should open another location near by so that members can spread out..
Great gym. Spacious and has everything you need.
Great Gym has almost everything you need at a gy
Sign still says 24 hours. I took my pre workout and showed up at 5am. It doesn't open until 6
Just like pie
The stuff is very friendly!!
Avoid going at busy hour because it's get busy!!
Let me go to the gym and spend two hours at 6 pm waiting for two machines because the gym isn’t open late or open early. Great stuff
They have all the necessary machines, but after 5 pm to 8pm is always crowded. There is a not a single trainer to provide some guidance to people new to gym or to correct them on how to to the exercise correctly. I don't need, cause I've working out for several years, but you see people with denim, leather shoes and doing exercises totally wrong. Anyway, its pricey but is a good gym.
We are paying for a 24 hour gym so when are they going to be 24 hours?! At least give us a discount so we're not paying the same as precovid. Ridiculous. Everyone walks around with no mask on and staff don't care.
This is a big business that cares only about making money and not the individuals paying. Very disappointing service from the manager, I would not recommend and would not return.
The staff at the front desk are very lazy and they don't smile when you come in
Good gym, very clean
this place is not a normal masjid very odd place its beautiful but bad vibe and environment
If I could give zero star or a negative rating, I would. Worst customer service I have ever witnessed in a gym that supposedly prides itself on providing excellent service. I tried to bring in a companion to convince him to sign up for GoodLife. However, because he just got off work, he did not have his ID. I have been a loyal member of GoodLife's Ultimate package for over two years. Despite this, I could not bring in a friend. The two young workers at the front desk were absolutely useless, clueless and unhelpful. The manager, Ben, was even more discourteous. While I understanding company policies with identification, this was a one-time drop-in in which I was trying to add another new member to the company. I had all my identification and gym pass with me for verification. It is completely unreasonable that I was unable to bring in a friend despite this. If you really want to knit-pick and focus on so-called company policies, try keeping your changing rooms clean and your premises more hygienic, instead of turning potential customers away from the gym. Keeping good customer relations is evidently not at the top of this GoodLIfe location's priority.
good
Super convenient being 24 hrs! Complimentary parking on P2 only. Very spacious, bigger changing rooms than Newton too.
No free wifi, otherwise I might give 4 stars. Facility and location is nice. Need to do a better job to keep the area clean tho. Biggest issue is that at Peak time it is too busy. Sometimes had to wait for a treadmill for 30 mins. Crazy! Suggest to go in non-peak time.
Great facility
Washrooms are dirty in gungi cardio machines doing work broken
this place is very expensive and some of the staff are not polite and do not go this place between 4pm and 6pm because it gets really busy at those times do not sign up at this place because once you sign up you are trapped and you have to pay a hefty some of money to cancel your membership.
Great place to work out high ceiling, equipment are good and friendly staff..Highly recommended.????
Decent gym but definitely avoid during peak times. Far too little equipment to meet demand.
Been a Goodlife member for over 3 years. past two years they had several issues with my payment withdrawal. Even though I pay through visa, they still charged me through my bank account. It took several months until they reimbursed my money back. From 2016-2017 I decided to pay full year up front with Visa and ASKED ON THE STOP that I WANT TO CANCEL after my contract ends (September 2017). For some reason, they would not accept my payment UNLESS I GAVE them my Bank INFORMATION (RED FLAG!!!). Fast forward to today. I asked to Cancel in July 2017 and the staff would NOT ALLOW ME to do so. Told me I needed to cancel 10 days prior to last day. 10 Days ago, I asked to cancel and was told I needed 30 days NOTICE (DECEITFUL COMPANY)! Now they are charging me 1 month extra to stay at this gym against my will. WHAT A SCAM! DO NOT COME TO GOODLIFE! THEY WILL MAKE SURE TO WITHDRAW MORE MONEY THAN YOU PAYED FOR AND FURTHERMORE, THEY MAKE SURE IT IS A COMPLETE HASSLE FOR YOU TO CANCEL THEIR MEMBERSHIP THAN ANY OTHER GYMS! Their service quality have gone down over the years and their demands are more restricting than ever before! THEY USED TO BE $23 a MONTH FOR ANY LOCATION! Now they charge $50 per month and costs you $5 if you decide to visit other Goodlife LOCATIONS! ALL WHO ARE CONSIDERING THIS GYM, DON'T! BE WARNED!!!! IT IS OVERCROWDED WITH PEOPLE THAT DO NOT KNOW GYM COURTESY, LEAVING GYM EQUIPMENT ON THE FLOOR AFTER THEY FINISH. LASTLY, SLOPPY GYM MANAGEMENT. WENT IN FOR THE 3rd ATTEMPT TO TALK ABOUT CANCELLATION WITH A SUPERIOR. NO SUPERVISOR OR MANAGERS IN THE FACILITY TO ASSIST YOU. WHAT A JOKE! HOPE THIS IS WORTH THEIR $50 extra dollars because I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY OUT THERE! P.S. Their Barbells are not all 45lbs. Some are cheap China knockoffs. My buddy and I have taken their barbells for a weigh in. Some are 40lbs! NOT GREAT IF YOU ARE deciding to compete!
Really big and full range of machines
It's hard to find a clean gym. This one surpasses.
Way too busy all the time and usually a wait for working out for certain machines or squat cages. Waitlist concept at the gym definitely needs to be improved as it is currently very inefficient
Black female on the front desk need to learn how to talk to people. Everytime i ask towel from her she refuse to give even if she have it. Goddamn service.
I’ve been going here for a while with people who either have premium or plus one membership. Don’t go here if you’re planning to DROP IN WITHOUT a plus one present. The Caucasian lady with red highlights charged me $26.50 for DROPPING in after my brother changed his premium membership. She was trying to prevent him from changing even stating all the services that he won’t have in a rude tone. Absolute disgusting service.
nice staff , nice place , good quality machines and clean gym
Got a great walk through the service rep Lawrence was very helpful. I started writing up paperwork while he helped another customer. Some other employee came up and informed me that they don't take cash payments. I wanted to pay for a full year in cash and he wouldn't take my money. I guess I am going to continue going to the Anytime Fitness across the street. They may be smaller but they sure are anxious to take my money ????
Good layout and equipment. But way too overcrowded. There's probably 100 people here at any given time until midnight.
I've been coming here a while now. People and staff are friendly, good selection of machines. Considering the size and amount of people I feel they need a larger free weight section. As well the sauna needs to be larger and I'd like it if it actually got to temperature in a normal amount of time. There has been times where I've turned it on at the start of my workout and after 2 hours it's still not up to temp.
I have been chasing them to cancel my membership for past one month and they haven't done anything. They have continued charging me more than $300 every 2 weeks and their HQ is least bothered to reply to their customers. Highly unprofessional and unhelpful staff. They don't care about their customers and only care about money. I am tired of calling them and mailing them and they always give the same reply.
Love the gym, great atmosphere. Bumped into Ben the GM and he was very helpful and friendly. Thanks guys!
Clean . Typical goodlife.
Be careful when you sign up with them, they will make you sign up a contract without your knowledge and when you want to cancel your membership they will charge you for signing the contract which you didn’t have any idea about.
I've been a member of Goodlife for a year now and can't believe how poor their service is, with the exception of a few new hires in the past 2 months. They've had a broken scale in the men's bathroom for 6 months and none of the staff even bat an eye. One day they tell you you're welcome to use the equipment on the side of the personal training area, then lock all of it up the next. I won't be renewing my membership here.
I was reading to reviews I thought some ppl are mean . So I called to have a membership they booked me at a time and I got a confirmation email!!!!!!!!!. Then I went there to meet someone. So they said they don’t have my name. That the first impression of them Good luck ???????? for u guys to be a member of this s.... place
