Here you will be able to see the feddbacks of real people like you who know the services and products of Equinox West Georgia Street (Gym) in the area close to Burnaby (Canada).
At present this business receives a rating of 4.1 stars out of 5 and this rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings that it reaches is very good, and it's founded on a very large number of scores, so we may be pretty sure that the assessment is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to leave their score when they are happy with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to place opinions when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Gym belongs to the category of Gym.
It's like working out at the W. Hotel. Amazing!
Very nice classes , but they are always full :(
As a new member, I’ve found equinox a great experience so far. Special thanks to Rui for the excellent service.
This gym is great if you're looking for work out classes. I don't personally think it would be worth it just for the gym unless money is not a factor for you! Classes are great and abundant and the facilities are amazing. Elis was the advisor who helped get me started. She's been amazing from the start and walked me through the process. It's a big commitment and I had a lot of questions! Elis patiently answered all of them and is always available by phone for the additional ones that have come up during my first month. Thanks again, Elis, for all your help!
Not 24/h can't use.
Training with Arvin. Extremely knowledgeable, he does an in-depth analysis of your physiological issues to help you correct even long term issues. Solutions to help improve your health and fitness for life. Monica's Pilates was also incredible. Honestly, the wole staff here is so professional, fun, and hard working. Even the manager, Liz, is approachable and friendly. A+
Since I am very new to the world of working out, I knew I needed some place special to inspire me. This is it. Love the atmosphere, love the classes. Employees and trainers are very helpful and friendly.
Very impressed by the facilities, and the staff is amazing. Lu, specifically was very lovely, helpful and friendly! Aiden also gave an amazing tour :))
I wasn’t sure to join a gym, because I didn’t like the idea, but after Elis invited me and showed me all the activities that Equinox has, I signed up, she has been a great support to encourage me to join the activities. I’m really happy with the facilities, the classes, everything is always clean and all the staff is very friendly, I so grateful that Elis convinced me and changed my mind.
starting from the intro, someone was supposed to introduce me around but no one came so I just waited for the Personal Trainer's complimentary workout, Cory Warner was my PT, he did a quick tour even though he doesn't do that at all, wow the place is just amazing, gym isn't HUGE like Steve Nash but it's good enough! very popular place though, great warm up and workout routine that was focused on conditioning, i wish he did some lifting with me, he did 0 form correction on me as there was no need to, afterwards the cool towel and stretches were amazing, however the advisor Alyssa seemed really disinterested and 0 sales pitch was done and when i said "this place is better than Steve Nash" (on purpose), she went: ha, YA THINK?!, like I'm not sure why she was giving attitude and being so pompous?, totally unnecessary and any newbie to gyms (good thing I wasn't) would have been quite embarrassed by her tone...be humbe please, plus she didn't even mention all these prices are based on a 1 year contract ONLY, come on seriously what kind of snake deal is this? be transparent with your customers I would rate a 0 star for her and their business pitch, but all my remaining stars go to Cory Warner for the fantastic workout and tour! but this place is really much better than even the New Steve Nash at Park Royal Sports Club
Joined the gym recently! was amazed by the friendly staff and the environment. Having Rui set me up in the gym, took away the whole terrifying experience of joining a new gym.
Nice entrance and decor, this doesn't feel like a guys gym though, very few weights and benches with only a couple squat racks all which were being used by trainers. They need to triple the machines and weights and get rid of half the old school fixed machines which make you prone to injuries. Also very dimly lit and music that leaves much to be desired. For a hefty membership this gym doesn't make any sense unless you are into doing all their aerobic, yoga, pilates classes. Was expecting so much more for an "elite" gym!
Equinox is an amazing gym. Besides that, I’d like to mention the staff member Rui Cardoso as an amazing person. He is always ready to help us out in the gym with his friendly way to be. Thank you Equinox for having extraordinary people on your team.
Clean, full of equipment and knowledgeable, kind staff. Elis, in particular, helped me get signed up and comfortable. I’d recommend it to my friends in a heartbeat.
I just joined and I am having a great experience so far! Elis was very helpful and made me feel very comfortable as a client!
terrible culture. flashy people full of complexes go there to find bf/gf only.
I was spoken to like a piece of trash and discriminated by the general manager Liz when coming back to the club to rejoin happily and friendly. Liz had me come in the office with another colleague and planned out an aggressive way of speaking down to me and trying to push me away from joining she seemed to have a chip on her shoulder from me complaining via email about the fullness of classes the year before when i was a member.. She stated that this is a private club insinuating I was not welcome there at all which is the most disgusting behaviour I have experienced. She should check herself and maybe its time they find new happier management that wants to create money for the equinox brand.
I recently signed up at Equinox and I love everything about this club! Shout out to both Rui and Lu for always going above and beyond to ensure I'm having the best experience! The group fitness classes to locker rooms are all top-notch. Highly recommend!
Rui was super professional and friendly! Made me feel so welcome at the club from the second I walked in. Couldn’t recommend him enough :)
Absolutely love this place, would give it 10 stars if I could! All of the staff are so nice and helpful. Aiden was great in helping me get set up with my membership, answering all of my questions, and just overall support if I need anything. I also started working with a personal trainer, Matt Potter, and would 20/10 recommend working with him!!! Matt takes the time to understand your lifestyle and needs to give you the best workout plan/experience possible. I have already learnt so much about myself from working with him and am excited to continue on!! 1000% worth it to spend a little extra to get an amazing experience from start to finish at Equinox!
Very happy I switched to this gym even though the commute is a lot longer. You get what you pay for and the gym, amenities and staff are top notch - especially Rui who helped me get started and Kev who gave me my fitness assessment.
I've been a member at Equinox from day 1 and recently I have been blown away at their proactive Covid-19 response. From additional spacing to constant sanitation of equipment, they have really ensured the safety of all of their members and staff. I would recommend this gym to anyone in the market for a new place to work out! (Special shout out to JEN the membership advisor for always going above and beyond!)
High service, great instructors, and good attitudes!
Seriously!? $50 drop in fee?! (unless your weights are gold plated)
Just signed up recently, initially I was about to cancel my membership as I felt it was crowded but Elis from the management team mentioned I went at the worst possible time, went there a few more times to realise it's not as busy as I thought it was so I kept my membership. Elis was very good at convincing me to stay. The facility overall is great and the classes are suberb.
Come for the eucalyptus towels - stay to work out with Michael Goodfellow! Ask for the one who looks like a He-Man action figure and who will help push you further than you can yourself. Michael is entirely focused on you during your sessions and checks up throughout the week to ensure you're keeping up your side of the efforts. Yes, personal training is indeed expensive on top of membership itself but trying it was part of my personal motivator to make sure I was attending regularly and getting back into a routine. The gym itself is clean - they are on top of the locker room and the equipment is all as you would expect for a premium location.
I was a member of Equinox, Vancouver for over a year. COVID-19 changed but I am just waiting to get back again. My experience began with meeting Rui Cardoso, a knowledgeable, kind and professional staff member. He gave me a tour and described all the amenities, and answered all my questions. Before the end of the tour I signed up. The club is impeccable, excellent classes ( you can’t find that quality anywhere else with classes!)
Terrible experince especially in such uncertain times. Its all about the bottom line.
Lu, equinox’s rep, was so kind and has reached out to me numerous times about my experiences at the gym. She has been helpful showing me exactly what there is to do with the equinox app and in the gym. Highly recommend her and the gym!
Elis did a great job acquainting me with the gym and setting me up with a membership. Excellent service
Most impressive gym I have ever been a member of. Situated in a very central location of downtown Vancouver. This venue is extremely spacious. Boasting high ceilings, spacious lobby, an open gym layout with extremely clean changing facilities. Especially during a pandemic, this gym over any other has the spatial capacity for its members to be able to work out comfortably while respecting the mandated social distancing requirements. The space is very well ventilated and therefore very comfortable to work out in. The Eucalyptus cooled towels and the smoothie bar were a game changer for me post workout. In particular, the staff is super friendly, caring and helpful! Andrew, the PT I work with has been a great help in enabling me to achieve my goals. I definitely recommend!
Great place to work out, always clean, never too busy. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Aiden is particularly supportive in any needs you might have. Overall a decent place to workout!
Well we had two free passes to use the gym there and we live right in the neighborhood so we went there yesterday and we appreciate the passes and everybody was very nice but we found that the equipment was not very good. They had all Precor and ledcor which is the stuff you see on television that you buy for your house but certainly not professional gym equipment most of it was made out of aluminum and not steel this is not the gym equipment they use in the National Football League or the National Hockey League or at Gold's Gym it's consumer Quality Equipment not professional. They only had one leg press machine and it was not adjustable my wife is petite and could not use it and I had difficulty using it because it wasn't adjustable or comfortable for my back we went over to the leg extension machines it was like climbing into a tiny airplane that was made out of aluminum I couldn't adjust it or use it the same way I do the equipment at Club 16. I couldn't do many of the things I do on the machines there and I went to bench press and the weights were not professional-quality the bench had very small hooks for putting the bar back when you got tired with no safety locks just like on a leg press machine with the Safety Lock was a little plastic bag and if that thing breaks or you miss it you get two broken legs I found that the equipment at Club 16 was professional-quality the same as a National Hockey League weight training room and the cost is 1/10 I appreciate the free tickets but the qualities equipment was really poor and I can't do my regular workout and neither can my wife on this equipment it's not professional-quality and it's not safe.
Elis was so friendly and welcoming! Thank you! Excited to be at Equinox again! ????⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amazing gym with friendly people and staff. Eucalyptus towels are a game changer. It was great working with Aiden! If you are looking to explore equinox, definitely contact him.
The gym is well maintained and the staff is always very friendly. My advisor, Rui Cardoso, takes the time to personally greet me and make me feel comfortable and answer any questions I may have. He’s been super helpful with offering suggestions and giving advice. Anytime I have had a question, he has replied immediately. With the uncertainty during these times, his communication has been settling.
I've been a member at Equinox West Georgia for almost a year now. Absolutely love this club. Immaculately clean at all hours of the day, incredible staff in all departments, and an excellent array of high-end equipment / machines. This club feels like a second home to me, full of awesome members and staff. My membership advisor Lu Hernandez has always gone above and beyond to ensure my experience at Equinox is top notch. Come in and give it a shot, you definitely won’t regret joining.
There is no escaping that it’s a gym. The facility is nice - even if not the best you’ve likely ever seen. The amenities are wonderful, and pre and post covid, the steam rooms and sauna were/will be amazing. The facility is always clean, well maintained, and the staff care about what they do. Its a very nice gym but that likely won’t blow you away.. The best part is the people. I’ve been a member for years and walking in the gym is like walking into Cheers - everyone knows your name. Front desk staff always greet you, the maintained staff (shout out to Jamie!) are always there to help you out and make sure things are tidy. It’s hard to find a group of trainers that work this hard to develop professionally. The membership crew are always friendly, and my experience with Aiden has always been first class. Always willing to go out of his way for me, even if there is very little he can do at the end of the day. I really appreciate that. I have heard many people say that it’s an intimidating environment to join and I can see that. People come here, work hard, and are often very busy. But if you’re willing to throw yourself into the environment there so many people that will make you feel welcome.
Aiden was absolutely amazing in helping us tour the gym and make a decision for the membership. There was no pressure and the gym has a very friendly and inviting environment. Great facilities and good for professionals looking for fitness while working.
Poor service! The staff seems so nice before you enroll for the club and after that they don’t know u anymore! It’s super busy around 4-7pm and there’s kine up for classes Shower and hot steam it’s so dirty and the towles sometimes have stain on it Overal for $200 per month it’s not worth it Also be aware of monthly charges sometimes they charge twice! The manager is Gen and it’s hard to find her and she doesn’t reply to emails!

Yes the price point is high, however so far this place has been worth every penny. The facilities are great, the classes are high quality, and the staff are passionate about what they do. Just like any gym, you will come across the clientele here that are nothing but annoying, and in there to grunt/look stylish/give you the stare down. Only difference is these guys also have a ton of money which elevates all those annoying qualities. Ignore all that, and you are in for a great facility. This spot is a destination, and not like other gyms. You can spend hours here if you want to. I hope we dont have to eat our words someday, but this place is pretty damn awesome. It is expensive, but cheaper than crossfit, and seriously those eucalyptus towels are FREAKING amazing.
Facilities and classes are great. The staff are very friendly and the trainers are knowledgeable. Lu and Ryu have been awesome in setting me up at the club and answering my questions.
Beautiful gym, great amenities, I couldn't be happier about joining. Trying to convince my friends to join too since the classes really make it worth it. Ellis is awesome, she's super friendly and really makes you feel at home!
Since arriving in Vancouver Equinox is clearly a gym that caters to healthy lifestyle’s and values the experience a professional gym can provide. There are few fitness facilities in Vancouver that provide the level of quality and atmosphere. Additionally one of the very few gyms in town with a Woodway Treadmill which shows they are willing to invest in it’s membership. I have to give recognition to Rui for his care and attention to ensure that my customer experience is next level.
I've been to many gyms before but Equinox is by far my favorite. I just recently joined and so far I have an awesome experience. I am glad that group classes are back. From solo work out up to the group classes, all have been an amazing experience! Gym equipments are always clean, even the shower, everything top notch. My advisor, Aiden Paré, is also a great help from the beginning up until now, he is reaching out to check my experience with Equinox. He was quick to answer all questions and concerns that after the quick tour, I immediately signed up! That's how awesome he is, so for anyone who wants to be a new member in Equinox, Aiden Paré is your guy!
I have been going to the club for just over a week. The classes and amenities have got me looking forward to going to the gym a heck of a ton more. Elis gave me a tour of the gym and made the joining process so simple. Loving the Equinox! and it’s so aesthetic!<3
I thought the price was too steep at first but it's spotless, never too busy, has great amenities and some fun classes... so I fully love it now.
more than 5 cases of covid and the company does not inform users
I can't speak for using the facilities as I booked a tour and was quite disappointed that I had to sign a one year contract with no option for month to month or even 6 months and there was no trial (it doesn't have to be free, but just..something) prior to committing. I understand this is a very high end facility, but I couldn't imagine committing to anything in that price range without trying it first. Vancouver is full of boutique style classes, most of which you can enjoy by dropping in or trying first. I was almost ready to take the leap, because I really wanted to have a great place with one stop services, but I felt like they were about as inflexible as many chain gyms with the many stipulations. (No couples discount, year contract, still busy during peak times, doesn't have extended hours (24h or close to), the front staff were dismissive and rude, I was kept waiting for my appointment even though it didn't seem particularly busy. I also am a huge fan of functional equipment, and I didn't see a lot of it -- maybe it's in the classes but most of the time I prefer doing my own thing so I was a little disappointed that it didn't seem like there was an abundance of new toys to play with) All of these little things matter, and I could get past if the membership was considerably less. It should feel like a spa experience from start to finish, isn't that what people are paying for? Anyways, the experience I had.. I would give 1-2 stars, but since I haven't used the facility, and I believe it looks really nice/clean.. I give it 3.
TERRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT. DO NOT GO HERE. Worst gym I have ever been a member at in my life. The trainers are terrible, rude to people on the floor, and think they are better than everyone. When I asked about canceling they laughed and said “yea Vancouver is expensive and not everyone can afford”. One of the trainers openly told my wife that he had a vasectomy and loves 4 ways. Disgusting. The staff here makes you feel less than and not worthy. Take your money down the street.
Absolutely awesome facilities, great staff, great clientele. Signed up with Aiden and have yet to not be greeted with a wave or smile from the lad in the 1.5 years I’ve been going there. Awesome dude! ???? Staff are always happy to spot ya or give insight, classes are unreal. Best purchase every month
This gym is a great place to work out. I joined the club in Sept 2020 and was impressed with the safety measures in place to help feel safe during the pandemic. My experience at the club wasn’t the best when I first joined. However, I was quick to give Lu, my membership advisor, the feedback and it was improved immediately. It’s a premium club and with some feedback they have made it feel that way. You are treated well by all the staff who are super friendly. The trainers on the floor are very nice and engaging in conversations if you like. I’m excited to come to the gym and see all the nice faces. It’s worth paying the premium price for me. I would highly recommend the club. And I encourage you to contact Lu when you’re ready to join. She is the best!
I signed Equinox few years ago and I love the gym. It’s the best gym in Vancouver, very clean, staff friendly and Rui was the one that helped me to get my membership. Ask for him and you will get the best service at Equinox
All gyms have to stop enforcing annual membership on their customers. Sure they can incentives annual membership by offering better prices but not having a month to month option is no longer acceptable.
The ultimate fitness experience is probably the closest statement I can come up with. Not only does this place have state of the art equipment (I always look forward to getting on the treadmill while watching Netflix), but it also has amazing and knowledgeable staff. Despite the Pandemic, I feel safe, the facilities are always clean, I can tell that the proper COVID-19 measures are in place and above all, I have come closer to my fitness goals in a relatively short period of time. I strongly recommend Equinox to anyone considering serious fitness objectives while at the same time enjoy being surrounded by a pristine environment. When visiting, be sure to ask for Lu, she will make your day with a smile and professional guidance in regards to the club. She will go above and beyond to make sure all your questions are answered, she definitely ads a spark to the overall experience.
From signing up with Rui, who’s very attentive, to the gym quality, cleanliness and great staff, it’s a gem gym!
Nice but expensive.
The gym is overloaded with people working out every day and enrolling more and more over capacity. On the other-hand the personal trainers are very rude and taking 2-3 machines for their clients so you have to wait until they’re done!
Equinox is luxurious, clean, fresh and professional. I signed up with Rui, who is one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met. He’s genuinely focused on matching the Equinox experience to your fitness goals and has been there when I’ve had questions or needed help. It’s made all the difference and I’m very glad I chose to come to this beautiful gym.
got started with Aiden getting me signed up and sorted over a year ago -- and its been a positive experience ever since .
I joined this gym signing a contract on how things around here function. You sign up for classes for the full week, I could plan my week. Turns out they can change whatever they want without any feed back. I now cannot enroll in ANY classes because 1. I have to be attached to my device and make sure I book at the EXACT time it is ready to book. 2. This doesn’t even work, because I go to book the class at the proper time and there is no join class button even 30 minutes after the time it specified. Joining this gym means you get to use it the same as a YMCA. Just gym equipment. This is NOT why I joined this gym. Not worth 200 dollars a month, that’s for sure.
There is no escaping that it’s a gym. The facility is nice - even if not the best you’ve likely ever seen. The amenities are wonderful, and pre and post covid, the steam rooms and sauna were/will be amazing. The facility is always clean, well maintained, and the staff care about what they do. But if you’re willing to throw yourself into the environment there so many people that will make you feel welcome.
Great gym, good atmosphere and Aiden always answers any questions I have. If your looking for a fitness community this is the place!
I went for a tour and was pretty excited to give this place a shot - have to say it was clean and looked great. But nowhere online or before did they mention there is a 1yr commitment, so they wasted my time and theirs (hopefully I can save you some time too). That's a $2000 blind contract with no guarantee of service. Already it's apparently hard to book many of the classes which is the main benefit. Judging by a few disgruntled reviews at other Equinox gyms, I'd wait to see how their level of service and capacity play out before signing anywhere. But frankly if it was really that good, they wouldn't have to lock you into a shady contract anyway right? Even their marketing campaigns are focused around 'commiting to something' which is brilliant but horrifying at the same time. I was hoping that Equinox might be the answer to the controversial gym business, but I'm not totally convinced yet. Regardless if future reviews are positive, I'd consider joining, but so far somewhat skeptical by what seems a bit superficial from the outside.
I travel a lot on business and I’ve used Equinox facilities all over North America and this one ranks as one of the best. While no pool, there’s a cheap one a few blocks away at YWCA, the machines are in high quality and classes are fun. Steam room is high quality, as well as the customer service. Body Energy is at this location and they make the best protein smoothies in the city. Overall, way better than spending >200 bucks/month on CrossFit membership which is the average price here in Vancouver.
No idea why there’s so many poor reviews on this gym, but disregard them! I’ve been going to this gym for four months and have never witnessed a more luxurious gym experience. Equinox truly delivers quality with everything that they bring. Once you experience it, you’ll never want to settle for anything less. Eq sets the bar high! If you enjoy premium, luxury, high-class choices, Eq is your best bet.
Since my apartment gym got shut down due to Covid, I had to look around for a replacement gym. Honestly I was hesitant about looking into equinox based on negative reviews and perceptions of the staff and the clientele. Fortunately when I did inquire they set me up with Rui. He was very informative, professional, and straight to the point. He did not use any kind of pressure tactics. He listened to my needs and goals. He even was very accommodating in giving me a trial session at the gym, and with a personal trainer. I was honestly amazed by the gym, amenities, and facility overall. The staff are professional, approachable and very helpful. The clientele are "normal" and not as "fake"/ pretentious as some reviews suggest. The personal trainers are professional and serious about their job, and in getting their clients to their realistic goals. I've been working with Matt for the past couple of weeks and he's been phenomenal in helping me reach my goals. I can't wait for this whole Covid thing to be over so I get to use the stream rooms and attend their various workout classes, which are part of the membership.
I was skeptical at first, but after my initial workout, I was in love! The space is beautiful and well-maintained, the change rooms are always immaculate, the showers are stocked with Kiehls' products and the towels are warm (hello, spoiled!) The instructors are all top-notch, especially yoga, which I never really liked until practising here. Also, the overall attitude of its members is great. Everyone is super friendly and I have made new friends. If you attend the classes and use the amenities, this gym is not overpriced, it's great value for dollar.
Not worth it, if you sign up everyone is good to you, when you want to cancel membership they won’t let you go easily and require many proofs, such a bad experience, not recommended
I bought a mask for working out. A $39 + tax mask. Made in China, mind you, probably for pennies on the dollar. It doesn't fit. The straps are not your standard behind the ear type, but very long and awkward. I even asked the store worker if there was anything I should know and I was given no warning. Granted, I have a huge European backhead, but there is no way for me to comfortably wear the mask without it falling off during a workout. Equinox has refused to accept a return or to even entertain an exchange. I'm appalled, especially considering the mask wholesale probably costs them a very small fraction of the MSRP. Should have expected a sham considering the price of the mask in the first place. Oh well.
Amazing spin cycle classes with Claudia Ong! I’ve been going to her Anthem and Cycle beat classes consistently for 6 months and have really enjoyed every moment. She is energetic, good music, and has great structure to her classes. One of the best spin structors out there!
I love this gym! Been a member since 2019 and I use it on the regular. Staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Rui who helped me sign up and offered amazing deals and promos! All the personal trainers are professional and knowledgeable, I've trained with Andrew Kusovschi for the most part and he's great!
Very happy with my membership at Equinox Vancouver! The facility is top tier, especially during this pandemic, makes you feel very safe during your workout. Rui one of the membership advisors has made my experience at the club very welcoming, and I highly suggest if you like to see results join the club.
Its a club, not a gym! Enjoy the cleanness and amazing equipment and classes. Highly recommended
Welcoming staff and cool people in classes
Equinox has been my physical (and maybe more so mental) escape for nearly two years. All things made possible by Rui out of the West Georgia, Vancouver location. Not enough credit and kudos to be given to this establishment and professional representation. Get it!!! ????
I’m a new member and I’ll say this without hesitation: these guys run an excellent show. The classes meet you at your level and push you further. The trainers are motivating and have gone through extensive training. There’s programs in place to tailor training to your specific goals and the process is seamless. The app is awesome and makes it brainless to schedule on your workouts and check timetables as well as get access to other health and nutrition info. There’s a lot of beautiful people here that can make it slightly intimidating - but you’re beautiful too. The standards of cleanliness are incomparable and my favourite part: the chilled eucalyptus scented towels! Bliss.
Equinox is such a great facility. Rui is the best he is so respectful, kind, and a king in every way. If you ever get the chance to go make sure to say hi to him and he will make you feel so welcome!!! ????????????????????????????
Very clean and well equipped gym. Staff are very friendly as well. I met one of the managers, Lu, who signed me up and gave me a tour. She was very receptive and has been very helpful with all requests and suggestions I have sent her way since.
Great experience at Equinox. Always welcoming and helpful staff, want to give a special shout-out to Elis who's been nothing but excellent support through the membership advisory. Quite a lot of different classes and amenities include. I wish you could book more classes in advance not only 26h
First time here! Has plenty of equipment and space to use double machines. Staff is always cleaning. Never have to wait for a spot
I loved the fitness classes here and used to go almost every morning before work! Best way to start the day. I haven't gone since the pandemic really blew up but can't wait to get back in there once the pandemic is over. Friendly staff, well maintained space, and lovely ambience.
Signed up over a week ago and have had a really good experience so far. Elis has been very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!
Paid 52 bucks for drop-in it's just a gym nothing special at all. Seeing 2 squat racks literally. The low ceilings and the dark interior is way too overwhelming. 1 star goes to the shampoos in the bathtub
Nice, clean gym with pretty good equipment and classes. Gets really busy and classes quickly fills up
Rui helped me get signed up with Equinox and he was amazing every step of the way. He made me feel comfortable and welcomed from the beginning. I truly look forward to getting my days started in this gym and I love the Pilates classes I have been taking with Mai! I have been recommending all my friends and family here since I started.
Great facilities and very friendly staff. Not sure why this place gets so much hate, It's a wonderful place.
Definitely the nicest gym I’ve worked out at. All of the trainers and staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. Aiden Pare has been SO helpful to provide me with the best experience. I’m continuously impressed by the services offered by Equinox. Highly recommend!!!
Best gym Ive ever been to :-)
They attempt to market themselves as a 'luxury gym'. However, there is nothing luxurious about equinox. It's a COVID hotspot -- there have been 5 cases here (and counting), some of them unreported to members. The staff are incompetent and management lacks basic organization - I've witnessed a member lose his shoes and there was absolutely done to help (see similar reviews below). The tiny gym floor is packed, so you will need to wait your turn to use virtually any weight machine, it's such a small space, no wonder covid spreads. Their actions are performative and pretentious -- There is a system to get people to book before going, but they allow as much as 40 people to book in the same hour, which defeats the purpose of social distancing (it's still packed). Not to mention, the CEO is a huge Trump supporter -- that's the dealbreaker for me :)
Dealt with Liz - she was fantastic!
Honestly , it’s quite possible my favourite part of this place is RUI. He’s always warm, welcoming and there to make your day better, It’s always so nice going into a gym where you feel like your going to go hang with your friends Go for the faculties.. stay for RUI, haha
I joined Equinox October 2020 and I had never truly worked out properly at a gym before so I was nervous/self-conscious to start. There was no reason to be because as soon as I had my tour from Aiden Paré, I knew this was the gym for me. He was super welcoming, informative, had answers to every single question I could possibly think of and was a huge reason why I joined EQX. He makes sure to email or text every once in a while to tell me about promotions, events, etc. and is always extremely friendly when I see him at the gym! I love that they have such a wide variety of classes, so much equipment and space, have been so amazing during this whole pandemic, and the cleanliness is next level. I could never join another club now that I've had the EQX experience.
Loving this gym! Rui Cardoso signed me up. He's professional, friendly and continues to check-in on me. I've also been training with Jarryd Baine who has provided me with fun and challenging workouts. This gym is super clean... both members and staff continually clean the equipment and surfaces. I can't wait till group classes are back.
Joined this gym a couple months ago and I have never enjoyed working out so much in my life! The class instructors are incredible, so many class options including barre, spin, yoga, pilates, weight training, etc. The steam room, sauna and showers are the perfect end to a workout! Definitely worth the price in my opinion.
Worked with Rui to figure out my membership. Was quick, informative, and helped tailor the membership to my needs.
Before I joined Equinox, I had monthly passes from Yyoga and Trevor Linden's Club 16 at the Convention Center. I was extremely happy with both: I did Hot Yoga twice a week, Yfit 3-4 times a week and then did power lifting and strength training twice a week. Now that I am at Equinox, I can do all of that under the same roof without having to have 2 separate memberships! The washroom, steam room, sauna , towel service and the cold eucalyptus towels are amazing. The staff and trainers have been extremely helpful and from what I've seen they are always walking around the gym to check up on everyone. I never really had to ask for anything yet but I'm assuming that they will be happy to answer any questions or give any if you had any. As expected, the monthly membership rate for such a club is not cheap and it's definitely not for everyone. If you are only interested on using the gym and cardio equipment, you will be definitely be paying a premium. But for someone like myself who can squeeze in 1 or 2 classes a day, hit the weights and enjoy the amenities, you can easily get a lot of value out of your membership. My only gripe with Equinox so far though has been the booking system with it's popular classes. It's almost impossible to get into certain classes since they book up so fast. (Haven't been able to get into the boxing, kickboxing , true barre, whipped or pilates classes) Hopefully they can work around that or find another solution to accommodate for more of the members. Because of that, I had to take 1 star away. So 4/5 stars for an excellent facility and my new second home. :)
No social distancing veryyyyyyy busy
Extremely expensive and honestly, it's not worth it. This is a place to show up, not to workout. More of a symbol of status for Vancouver's snobs.
I joined recently after moving nearby. Elis toured me through the club and signed me up, she answered my questions and was super friendly and helpful. All the staff seem to be welcoming and professional. The club is beautifully maintained and so far classes are excellent, really on another level. Well worth the cost!
Rui Cardoso signed me up at Equinox and was absolutely amazing!! He supported me like a friend and wasn’t pushy at all. Love the club and staff so much! Very happy I joined. ????
Awesome gym, great equipment and facilities. Lu was an absolute pleasure to sign up with, couldn’t have made process any smoother.
Equinox is really good and nice gym with everything you need to train. Also, the staff are friendly special mention to Lu she's the best
Once you are an Equinox member everything other gym will be sub-par. Excellent facilities, equipment is always maintained, cleaned and replaced as necessary. I personally have a great coach at this location Michael Goodfellow and he's a next level personal trainer that will get you great results. The club is managed by the outstanding Liz Jacobs who pays attention to all the details along with her superstar training manager Roxy Rowe. They are a world class team running a first class club.
This club takes trainig to a whole new level, totally worth the membership fee if you use their classes regularly. The combination of classes is so complete you do not feel like you need anything else in your trainig routine! Classes offered include: Boxing, Running, Spinning, Barr classes, Crossfit training, Pilates, and Great Yoga classes. All in addition to over the top services and amenities.
Madison Proznick keeps sending me unwanted marketing emails despite I wrote several emails to explain why I did not wanted to join their program. My last email was clear and polite. "Please, remove me from your mailing list". She still continues sending marketing emails. Reasons not joining: However, after doing some research, I realized that this is not the type of club I am looking for. Below are the reasons: 1) I was mainly interested in some classes (not the facility), but I learned they are mostly full and extremely difficult to get into 2) The club requires me to sign a year agreement and I am looking for a 3 months trial. If I like it after 3 months, I wish I had the option to continue my membership 3) The price is too high considering that it will be very unlikely that I can sign up to the "popular" classes that I was interested in. It would not make sense for me to pay extra fee of membership (compared to other similar fitness clubs) for nicely scented towels and shampoos. 4) No swimming pool, cheap limited machines
Absolutely terrible gym! A covid exposure was reported at the Vancouver location and there was never any public statement made regarding this possible exposure. Emails were not sent out to the members and the gym remains open and operating with many members uninformed. This kind of conduct is irresponsible and vile. They care more about their reputation than the health of clients.
best gym in town...or prob the best chain in the world.. totally worth the price... but then... if you stop going you lose so much financially, which the biggest motivation to keep you going...
nothing "luxurious" about this gym. avoid at all costs.
A really great experience. The team that assisted me were really helpful and friendly, the equipment is clean and new, and the location is super convenient. I just want to say a big thanks to Lu Hernandez for always keeping in touch and reviewing my progress, as well as David Crawford for all the workout tips. 5 stars
The club is beautiful, the classes are great and all the instructors are amazing. I used to like going to equinox a lot. My only one complaint here is a lack of communication between managers and customers or between managers and reception. I froze my account for the summer and tried to cancel after 2 months of being frozen. It looks like in this club you have to take on the role of being a manager yourself because their staff is unwilling to help their customers. Basically, I had to triple check if my requests were really passed on to the right person. I have no problem doing that until I got charged for a month of membership after I was told my membership was successfully cancelled. I requested a refund for the month that I didn't step foot in the gym ( because I was told that my membership was cancelled) . I wish the manager who was in charge of cancelling my membership would have explained their policies on cancellations to me in her last email. Something like "If you cancel from a frozen account you will be charged $95 feel free to use the gym amenities in August because to close out your account we have to reactivate it. You have one last month to use the gym between the reactivation and the cancellation... and by the way, this is my last email to you because I do not work there anymore". This is not a complaint about that manager, it is a general complaint about the customer service and how poorly their staff handles issues like this. Overall, this is not the type of service I would expect for $200 a month... Disappointed.
Honestly , it’s quite possible my favourite part of this place is RUI. He’s always warm, welcoming and there to make your day better, It’s always so nice going into a gym where you feel like your going to go hang with your friends Go for the faculties.. stay for RUI, haha
Elis was amazing to work this!
Not sure why all these other reviewers are complaining about a 1 year contract, as most top notch gyms in the city have a year contract and clause for termination. Onto the review: I previously has a YYoga membership and a separate gym membership. I was super happy to see that Equinox offered hot yoga as well as boxing classes, moreover the facilities have marble showers, eucalyptus steam room, cedar sauna, and extras like Kiehl's creams and shaving blades and towels are included if you need them. I am doing personal training with them as well and find it better than Kalev who I previously had training with. The ropes, ball throws, and box jumps are something I really look forward to doing with my trainer which I didn't see as much at the YMCA. If you're looking for world class personal trainers and fitness equipment that is brand new, rarely occupied - in addition to high end showers and change rooms then I highly recommend this place.
upsides: Clean, good equipment, great classes in different hours of the day, great instructors. Great change room and supplies. Great meditation on their app. Good juice bar. Downsides: Too busy, long shower lines, hard to find an empty locker. Classes are so busy that it gets hard to breathe and you don't get enough space to work out. Why would you pay $200 per month if you can't get into good classes because they are all full. Unfriendly management too, very easy to join, very hard to cancel, even if you have an acceptable reason for it. Parking is very expensive around the gym and the 2 hours parking that they provide on certain hours is nice but doesn't solve the problem. Verdict: They need to open a few other branches all over Vancouver with affordable parking and divide the load between them and I will rate them 5!
People who claim Equinox is over priced simply don't know what they're talking about. This hands down beats any gym in Vancouver. It's more like a sports club than a gym. It's a dream for anyone that take working out seriously and want to feel pampered. At the same time, yes, Equinox is for people who have money to spend on fitness. Not everyone can afford it. Comparing it with the YMCA is absolute nonsense!
Great place to work out but a poor employee behavior. Don't deal with Rebecca Towning!
Great gym, with good quality equipment. I really love the classes. Lots of variety which ensures that you are getting an all round workout every day. Geoff is amazing!! Whenever you have any issues, all staff will happily help you out. I signed up with Aiden and ever since he has always responded to my questions and resolved any issues I have had with the club. Best service ever!!!
Equinox Management is very rude. I had a one minute quiet conversation on a steps machine. It was a very important call and I couldn't miss it. The manager (Elizabeth Jacobs) walked to me and asked me to hold my call, and while the other person was on the line asked me to take it downstairs with a very rude attitude. The person on the phone was shocked with her rudeness. There was no one around to be bothered by my very short phone call.
I have been a member since Equinox first opened and all in all, I have been very happy with it. Classes are busy but top notch and if you’re organized with your workouts, you will get a spot no problem. Equinox has the same rush hour times as any other gym, and I am part of the post work rush hour crowd but I have still always still managed to get a great workout in. Equiox also has the same tacky sales tackicks as other gyms, so expect the high presure “act now or else...” routine when you come in for a tour. I pay extra to have my own locker, which comes with 24 turnover laundry service. Not cheap but worth every dime. Part of the reason I felt compelled to leave a review is because I have noticed that a lot of the 1 star, terrible reviews have been from non members, so they should be taken with a grain of salt. Good gym, worth the premium.
Great experience at Equinox so far - impressed by the cleanliness and I particularly appreciated Rui Cardoso's friendliness and helpfulness when I first joined Equinox this year.
Just recently joined and Elis helped make the entire registration process seamless and quick! She’s super helpful and enthusiastic, and I’ve been loving everything about the gym.
Awesome facility, friendly staff. Lu Hernandez (one of their client advisors) was totally non-pressure-y but very helpful. Their personal trainers and instructors are also great (even better when group classes are available). Mei is also a great Pilates trainer.
I’ve been a member of Equinox ever since I arrived from Aus - it’s such a great space to workout. The trainers are super knowledgeable, the member advisors make you feel totally welcomed (ask for Aiden he’s the BEST). Pre-covid I loved their classes, even though it sucks they’re gone I really feel that the team do a great job at keeping the gym clean & safe for all the members. Nothing but good things to say about this place ☺️
Best gym downtown Vancouver, easy. Everything is clean, training is on-point, super friendly maintenance and desk staff, and great management. Great selection and layout of equipment, plenty of benches, good number of dumbbells. Classes look legit from the outside but I've not attended personally. Did try to get a day pass during a work trip but never got a call back, that's totally on the Tyson's Corner location however and I can't fault the Vancouver folks. 5/5 - highly recommend Adding an edit: Been training weekly with Michael, his workouts will destroy your body in the absolute best way possible. Michael is also exremely knowledgeable around physical fitness and I've learned so much these past months. I cannot recommend him enough.
Terrible customer service, it's more for show than for any actual functional use. Pretentious, snobby, and incompetent staff and similar customers. Not only is it overpriced but you can get into a better gym that treats you better. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.
Im a member for a couple of years now and really enjoy the place. Good equipment, good classes and wonderful coaches. A special thanks for all the staff, especially Aiden and Rui that always there to help out
Amazing gym in Vancouver, very clean and the staff are so friendly. Thank you Lu for the Welcome!
I have been going to Equinox since I moved to Vancouver and it is the best gym in town. The environment is super friendly, everything is super organized and the staff is supportive. Also, Rui Medeiros is super professional and always have been prompt to help me regarding to any question I have.
Tried to put membership on hold because of a broken foot. Even with prescription for ankle boot they said no, need a specific doctor's note (this is after they claim to allow 3 months per year of putting membership on hold). This is not the first time - they will try to make things difficult for you to cancel, use guest passes, etc. Cannot recommend.
Thank you for your genuine service with the members:) The management is truly amazing and always willing to help.
Great gym!!! super clean & spacious with the best classes and equipment's needed. Aiden helped me sign up and has been great help always!
No swimming pool. Limited equipment. Very dark room.
Excellent gym! Love this place, high standards in everything they offer. Their fitness classes are so unique and different, meant to keep you motivated and challenged no matter your fit condition or level. And with the best instructors, professional and highly certificate, all of them, staff is friendly and helpful and my membership advisor Lu is always there for me
Save your money and stay away. I’m not your typical Equinox member, and I was very much made to feel like I didn’t belong. The class booking system is frustrating and a waste of time — people book and then cancel last minute. If you’re bumped into an open spot you have no time to cancel and get penalised. When I tried to end after my locked in year it was a struggle to even talk to the right person - they don’t make it easy.
Amazing gym, really great place, clean and all the equipment's you need. If you ever get a chance to become a member make sure to look for Aiden, he's an excellent salesman, clear explanation and right to the point.
I had a great experience signing up! Elis was such a wonderful and kind person gave me all the necessary information to get started at Equinox. Thanks to Elis I can’t wait to get get started here!
With the traffic congestion, and air quality in Vancouver getting worse I try to ride my motorcycle whenever I can. Its not always the most convenient option when it rains or is very hot. But it takes up less space and is better for the environment. One barrier I did not expect to experience was Equinox's refusal temporarily store my helmet under their reception desk. It did not fit in a locker, and I didn't care to keep it with me. You would think a place that supposedly promotes an active lifestyle could accommodate a motorcycle helmet. They quoted some policy on their responsibility for personal belongings. I told them the convenience was worth the risk and if my helmet was lost I would never hold them responsible. On previous visits I encountered reasonable staff members that saw the impracticality of this rule and simple put the helmet under the desk. But on this my last day at Equinox I encountered manager Karen and there was no reasoning with her, or the General Manager. As someone who cares about our planet, and our city, I will be looking for a gym that is accommodating to new and more efficient forms of transportation. And maybe we don't all need to drive our SUV's across town for a workout.
Love going to Equinox - feels super clean and well organized during the pandemic and is a great reason to get me out of the house to socialize and be active. Membership Advisor Lu is amazing! Strongly recommend asking for Lu if you are thinking of joining, she will take good care of you and make sure you have everything you need!
In addition to top tier, well-maintained equipment, the customer service is amazing from the greeters, to the maintenance crew, to the management team. The people always made my experience amazing and could always resolve any questions I had. The gym floor is very well laid out and you'll almost never see any equipment out of service, which is exceedingly common at other gyms. They are very on top of this and regularly maintain the equipment. The classes are amazing in quality and value. If you consider most group classes charge $30+ per class; the unlimited classes pay off in value very quickly. They've done a tremendous job in managing capacity and maintaining the gym and it still feels like the luxury gym we signed up for. For those disappointed they can't use the classes during a pandemic, they have it set up so you can hook up your phone and follow video classes on your own while maintaining appropriate social distance and I know some trainers are offering classes (shoutout to Geoff). I had to end my membership due to relocation but I'll surely be back at Equinox when I move back.
I love the classes and the very clean and positive environment at Equinox! Jen Wickson's Precision Running and Spin Pursuit are 2 of my favorites. Can't go wrong with Zach's Ab class and any of Geoff Bagshaw's classes, all killer! Highly recommend this gym if you live or work downtown.
Awesome facility. Love the fact that i can travel all over the USA and visit other locations!
I have been a member since they opened in 2016 and love this gym. I love the ambiance, the staff are super friendly, and the instructors are amazing - Zachary is by far my favourite. The best part is the variety of classes included, I love mixing up my workouts (Yoga, spin, barre, HIIT, etc) and all the classes are definitely challenging. You do have to be on booking the classes, but usually not an issue if you set a reminder, and even if you end up on a waitlist, you usually get in (Depending on the size of class). I don’t use the gym floor often, but also love a lazy run on the treadmill watching Netflix for the days I’m lacking motivation. I would definitely recommend this gym to everyone.
I've been a member of Equinox West Georgia for almost a year. I wasn't planning of joining due to COVID but once I took the tour, my advisor, friends, and the environment around was hard to resist joining. Ever since then, I have noticed my network exponentially expanded and the community is spot on - friendly, personable, and super welcoming! Every staff and member is super sweet, the high-end equipment is top-notch (constantly being cleaned and sanitized), and makes me feel alive daily. I love the luxurious style of the gym (aesthetically pleasing). Not only that, Lu Hernandez is one of THE BEST advisors and friends I've met that ensures your time is valued. She's hard-working and goes above and beyond. She continues to give off positive vibes while checking in on you constantly to make sure your experience is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Equinox to anyone looking for a new gym in the city. Check it out, you definitely won’t regret joining. Let's not forget about my favourite, the eucalyptus towels;)
The manager Jen Siemens service attitude is really misbehaviour, she doesn't have any patience to explain anything to customers, and she doesn't even know reply customer email when she has seen it.
They charged me automatically during pandemic while account was freezed! Without any notification or anything
Way too expensive for what they were offering... and STILL crowded!
Decor pretty nice, space is quite small though. Staff are professional and enforced distancing/face mask rules well. I recommend managing membership with Lu - she's available via text pretty much 24/7 and helped me keep membership flexible throughout COVID pandemic.
I’m a new member (joined two weeks ago) and really liking this gym so far! Impressed by the club’s cleanliness and safety measures put in place. I’ve only tried the barre class and complimentary pilates lesson so far and loved both! Everyone is super friendly and approachable, and quick to respond when you have any questions. I do feel like the apps could do with some improvements and they are missing the virtual cycle classes which is a shame when the in-person classes are not on. My membership advisor (Rui) was really helpful and answered my many questions! He was super positive about the club and my fitness goals – thanks Rui! I’ve felt welcomed by everyone since joining and I’m looking forward to trying all of the classes once they are back on!
Aiden introduced me to the club and has been super helpful. Customer service is definitely up there. This is an amazing gym and experience
Great value for the membership price and all that is included! Would highly recommend taking one of Claudia Ong’s classes! She has a great vibe, pushes you to be your best and really makes you feel welcome! 10 out of 10 recommend!
Nice but too pricy for no reason!!
Love the spot. Super clean and the best booking system ever. Thank you Rui Cardoso for the assistance and for introducing me to that gym! He's definitely the guy to see if you wanna join.
Excellent promotion on now to join, Ellis is a wonderful person and the staff is awesome. Highly recommend it!
Really enjoying the classes. Elis was really helpful and efficient getting me signed up. Overall the gym has exceeded my expectations thus far
Amazing atmosphere and very friendly staff. I signed up through Elis, she was so helpful and welcoming. Will definitely recommend to all my friends.
Extremely busy between 5-7pm every day during the COVID. There's an app which you have to book before you go but it is just for formality. Seriously guys if one of the members got covid everyone gonna get it. no social distancing no nothing!! I took a picture but maybe for privacy I won't share it but I will definitely sent it to the headquarter.
I'm going to give this gym 5 out of 5! Number one! Top notch customer service. True story: I had an very important phone call to make as I arrived the gym, my phone had 5% left, long story short. The manager finally help me to find the one one charger that fits my phone ( Samsung. Sorry for the Samsung users, this world indeed phone racist period) to complete the phone call. Thank you Equinox!
On the surface it’s a nice gym. Beneath the surface, this is another money grubbing gym that only cares about its top line. Oh, it’s major shareholder is also a major trump supporter, if you’re into that. The whole non-communication about the covid exposure is just, well, I guess something trump would do too. So I guess we all shouldn’t be surprised.
Awesome GYM. Classes are super full but the stuff is amazing, they know my my first name haha. Free parking helps and the gym is really clean. If they opened more hours for classes would be perfect.
Back to working out no masks side by side with other people in the gym, but strongly enforcing mask use in change rooms / showers. Please use some common sense equinox and stop asking people standing in a towel if they have a mask.
I was a member at Equinox for over a year. I did personal training for 6 months, 3 days a week. I attended several different classes so I feel like I touched all corners of the gym. At first I was lured in by the beautiful lobby and amenities (hello Khiel's products). I signed up for personal training, but two months in I was having pain in my knee for the first time in my life. I continued training, limiting lower body work outs. I didn't feel I got much out of it. Why I would say Equinox is not really worth their premium price is their customer service is total garbage. I had a bad experience with a rude instructor and when I gave feedback to the class manager he told me "well everyone else likes her". As if that made her being rude to ME justified. I never got an apology from the instructor or the manager. There is one reason I stayed with Equinox as long as I did and that is an absolutely amazing yoga instructor named Matt Corker. He is exceptional, but teaches at other yoga studios around the city.
the prices are insane and the people act like low budget car sales trying to get you to join.. it quite pathetic honestly
Someone by the name of Coco Cali made a comment here stating: "I was spoken to like a piece of trash and discriminated against by the general manager..." This is a five star review to counter her one star review for her failure to understand the word discrimination. I have spoken on the phone with the team here to get information and they were most helpful in answering all of my questions.
I’ve been going to equinox for a few years and I love it. The space is always extremely clean and especially with COVID it is something I really appreciate. The trainers are very educated and friendly. Membership adviser Rui Cardoso has always been a great help and provides amazing service, he is always available to answer my questions, would definitely recommend him to anyone inquiring about joining.
Be aware of non-stop sales tactics, email blasts and scheduling nightmares. Not something I would have expected from a premium fitness club. Being honest and upfront goes a long way. Be aware that Equinox will hold $100 of your initiation fee until you complete a fitness and personal training assessment. Scheduling these mandatory appointments is very difficult and they will not let you skip these two assessments. Parking can be troublesome. I lost a few of my tickets and the front desk was zero help -- they'll charge you $20 each time. I have opted out of emails numerous times but they continue to send last minute sales and deals without my consent. The facility itself is lovely but I decided not to continue due the reasons stated above.
Best GYM in entire BC. PERIOD. Lets put it this way the Fairmont of gyms. The best team In the world. Steph, Liz, Lu, Katie. Lets put it this way, i’ll get on a rocket to mars with them.
There is no secret, Equinox is my favourite gym! The best environment, the best people :) also I’d like to mention one person who makes a big difference at Equinox... mr. Rui Cardoso. His work is absolutely excellent! Rui is always on top of customer service and ready to assist anytime! Also Stephanie Buote is such a sweetheart who is always responsive and super friendly. Thank you guys for your wonderful work. I’m so happy that I have met you at Equinox.
Facilities are nice , but some really disappointing aspects. For example their boxing facilities are let down by their heavy bags, which are really poor quality to the point of dangerous. They are so hard, lumpy they are a hazard to wrist and shoulder health. Wish they had purchased from a reputable brand (e.g. such as Rival) rather then the manufacturer who would print the equinox logo on the bags but have no idea what is required to make safe fit for purpose equipment.
The steam room alone makes this one of my favorite gyms I’ve ever gone to. There’s one versaclimber in the corner that’s always empty. I hopped on it recently and after 3 minutes found out why. Damn that’s not fun. But the gym has all the equipment you could ever need and then some. Also top notch classes with great instructors, including yoga.
Great facility, and friendly staff. Elis was so great, super responsive and always wanted to make sure I had a great experience.
Great experience since joining. Rui, my main contact, is brilliant. Personable, professional and naturally has one of the kindest hearts I know. Makes the equinox experience so great!
I join equinox last year, taking a chance on higher then average gym membership then most other gyms in the lower mainland. I don’t regret it at all! Although some of the classes are still closed due to covid restrictions I can not wait to be able to have the option to take some of these fantastic classes. Rui Cardoso set me up with my membership and did not hesitate to give me a full tour of the gym. He was extremely helpful in filling me in on honest information about the current and the future plans and goals for the gym and myself post covid which made me very comfortable and welcoming to the environment. Rui has also gone out of his way to touch base with me personally to let me know of anything exciting and how I have been during my time at equinox. He is extremely dedicated to his members and he shows a lot of love for the gym itself and his excitement to be there for myself as a member and his own personal fitness goals. It’s refreshing to be around a gym where they feel like they aren’t trying to sell you something with every conversation, they just generally care about you as a person and as a member of their equinox family. It’s well worth the price not just for the amenities they provide which are amazing but for the time and care they put into their personal relationships with their members and their personal fitness journeys.
I've being member for almost 3 years and I really like the gym, great work out space, weights, classes, instructors and friendly staff. The Membership Assistant Lu Hernandez is a great staff member, every engagement with her has being very pleasant. If you are thinking on joining the gym definitely recommend it.
Rui was amazing! He clearly explained what the club had to offer and outline personalized benefits that both my partner and I could expect or take advantage of. He has checked in consistently since we joined and made us feel like part of the community from day 1. Equinox as a facility is amazing and I would recommend joining to anyone. Never too busy, very clean and a slick and classy environment and clientele. The trainers are helpful and I’ve never felt intimidated as one can in gyms :) 10/10 on all fronts so far! - Ashley
The advertisements saying this is the "safest gym" to workout at during the pandemic are hilarious since almost no practical measures are actually enforced here. Technically there is a limit on the number of people who can access the gym, but the limit is so high that it's about as busy as it was pre-pandemic (quite busy). They also don't require masks or anything. They also had a COVID case in August from one of their staff and didn't disclose it to any of the members, I only found out since someone leaked it. Outside of the pandemic this gym really isn't good value. I thought at least for the price you would never have to wait to use equipment - but it's still as busy as any other gym. The changerooms and products are quit nice though. It really feels like a gym with a lot of frills but not a lot of the of basics that I really care about. There's a lot of space wasted on aesthetics that could be spent on more room for equipment
Someone stole my boots from locker room. So I reported file and they told me they will give me a call. but no one call me so, I needed to call twice to just make phone call. Their answer was they can’t find it. My boots is long length which mean no one can carry with the bag. I think someone wear it by accidentally or intentionally. I was at the gym form 1hour and 30minutes. SoI think It’s pretty easy to find who wearing same boots as me for 1hour and 30minutes And there is a Camera at front door. But they just said they can’t because it’s not something like I got injured or anything it. It seems they don’t take it serious. I feel really unfair what happen to me and so furious about their attitude. Of course this gym is not safe because they can not do anything from stealing which means more serious crime can happen. and they won’t do anything. Also told them that I want to cancel the gym but they said I can’t.
Equinox has been a great gym during COVID-19, as they take every precaution, including by mandating masks and distancing at all times. It feels safe and clean, much more so than other gyms. Rui has consistently checked in with us, making our experience that much better! We are thankful to have him as our guide.
I've had a great experience at Equinox. Aiden has been so great and accommodating. I would for sure recommend.
I've been going to equinox for 10 months now and just want to share how clean and professional the gym is. It is a great environment to workout in and I also want to mention Lu Hernandez who has been an amazing staff member who always goes out of her way to help/assist. Thank u Lu!
Clean, state of the art equipment, extremely knowledgeable staff, amazing classes and a great energy. This is THE gym to be a member at in Vancouver.
Amazing gym with top notch amenities. Signed up with Elis and she was tremendous help!
This gym is beautiful inside and has really great amenities. It has a nice selection of classes and the online/app booking system is great. The only thing it lacks is the actual weights/equipment are is quite small. If you are a class person this is your gym - it you a big into free weights I'd look elsewhere.
If there is 0 star, I would rate 0. The people who work here all pretend they are client-centric and flexible when they take your money but when you want to withdraw, they find every way possible to make you pay more. Borderline scam business, beware of putting your CC info because they just charge you what they are not supposed to without telling you. Vile experience and fake people who do not deserve luxury standard. Will be voicing this with Office of Consumer Affairs.
WORST experience EVER! Buyer beware. Impossible to get into any of the premium classes. Electronic registration opens 26 hrs before the class AND they fill out right away. Asked to cancel and refund after 1 day and it STILL has not been processed after 2 weeks. Anyone else who regretting their purchase? By law you have 10 days, but you have to come in and see either Liz or Zack (the Manager or Assistant Manager) to get it done.
The gym is always clean and most of the staff are friendly and willing to help. Lu from the sales staff is friendly , knowledgeable and always willing to help you since you join and onwards . I love this gym and totally recommend it for people to join. The price is worth ebrh cent
Equinox is an absolutely beautiful gym to be apart of. It has everything you need, from weightlifting to yoga and everything in between. It has the highest standard of cleanliness and the changing room is on another level. It’s such a rare luxury to be able to take a shower and get ready after your workout and feel so clean and comfortable in a gym locker room. Equinox isn’t just a place to workout and get a sweat. It’s also a community. It’s a beautiful community filled with people from all walks of life. What stands out to me most are those who you first meet at the gym. Rui Cardoso is a membership rep and he is something else. He makes you feel at home and welcome. Its as if he is the glue that makes the community so tight knit and welcoming. Liz the general manager is also one of a kind. She knows her stuff!! I couldn’t imagine equinox. being where it is today without her presence. Thank you for creating this beautiful, welcoming, fun and fit environment!! Best,
Recently joined Equinox and the experience has been amazing. Aiden made the sign up process so easy and efficient, and has been extremely responsive to all my questions. Very happy to with the gym so far!
Been a great experience at the Equinox club so far. The amenities are varied, clean and the trainers are knowledgeable and patient. Shout out to Elis for helping me through the on-boarding and training process!
Amazing!
beautiful gym and has really great amenities. I love the classes and online apps
Kind staff and a nice facility. For any membership advising, speak to Lu Hernandez - she's amazing! Super supportive and friendly.
During the covid pandemic, gym is the last place you want to be but..it is also the place that can get you out of your chair and get you moving..not to forget those feel good hormones! I see Equinox do just that without compromising your health. With so many safety precautions in place (social distancing, masks, frequent sanitization), it is a great place to work out.
Love this gym. The classes, equipment, instructors, amenities and customer service is first class. Rui Cardoso is great to deal with when getting your membership or even inquiring. He is not only helpful, but pleasant.
“Equinox is a beautiful gym to be a part of. It has everything you need. It's the cleanest and most organized gym in Vancouver. The changing room is on another level, the showers are amazing. The staff is super friendly, and Rui Cardoso helped me to get my membership started. Rui is something else, he knows about the club, he listens to your needs and makes you feel at home and welcome. I'm verry happy at Equinox, thank you Rui and all the staff”
First of all, this gym is BEAUTIFUL. Not only that, the staff has been amazing— from the cleaning to the host staff. I have been suffering from a severe back injury and Rui has been there to help me with my membership details over the last few months. I can’t wait to be back! Highly recommend :)
Great gym! Due to our recent climate, in terms of covid protocols, I always feel safe. Rui helped me join and has been there along the way for any questions I have! He played a big part in why I joined Equinox! The gym is full of amenities and all the staff is friendly and welcoming!
There are some good things about this gym but they don’t outweigh the cons, the eucalyptus towels are amazing & change rooms are nice, includes a spa and both a dry and wet sauna, there’s quite a few showers. But I’m the morning and evening and even lunch this gym is constantly packed like there is no downtime in my opinion I do believe it’s worth the price considering the variety of classes you can take but you need to be on to book that class right away.. the service was alright but the personal trainer provided didn’t really impress me and he was extremely pushy.. in my opinion go somewhere else. There’s just too many members here.
I’ve been there for half a year. Elegant fitness environment. Have all the advanced equipments. The trainers there are quite professional. Most of the members are in a good shape which are quite motivated.
Definitely not worth the money. Needs a good cleaning and the $50 drop in fee eludes to something better than the YMCA which it definitely isn't. Trying to super set a workout is impossible. Trying to walk through the crowd is tough enough. Avoid! Staff don't know what to do. Seems like they must have a class that's popular but even those people don't seem happy here because there's been 5 complaints in 10 minutes.
Just called as a guest asking to visit the gym and was quoted $50.00 to come use the gym, I've been training for decades and have never had a gym ask for $50 for someone to come train for and hour. $20 is the most I have ever paid and will look elsewhere.
Everyone was very friendly and the gym is always very clean. Elis helped me to book the classes and gave advice on personal training bookings. I had personalized training with Robert, which was the best. Great experience overall!
I’ve been a member since 2016 and I love it so much. Very clean and well-maintained. The Jen’s spin classes are my favourite and staff are always welcoming and friendly.
very nice gym
I’ve recently joined and I love it already with all of the different workout classes as well. Elis helped me out with the process and any questions I’ve had which made it very easy. Every staff there has been very friendly and helpful!
Lu is absolutely amazing. She is so friendly and makes you feel so comfortable and welcome from the start. There was no pressure to join the gym whatsoever, but she provided all the information you needed to know from the start and was so helpful with any questions. Lu is personable and extremely easy to connect with! If you want to get a feel for what Equinox is like, I would certainly suggest getting in touch with Lu.
Overcrowded even after 20-00. Doesn't work after 20-00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I don't like it, considering the price and yearly contacts only.
This is the cleanest gym I've ever worked out in! I love the amenities of the sauna and steam and the complimentary Kheil's products. There are separate studios for Boxing, Spin, Barre, Yoga, Pilates and lots of classes with high quality instructors. I also like the app and being able to reserve my spot in classes so I can show up and not worry about having a spot. If you are in in Downtown Vancouver, this should be your gym.
This was the first place that took my attention to keep going and exercising. Staff are really nice and they are so careful with every detail! By the way, those scented and cold towels are unbelievable ❤️ Love it!
Rui was outstanding at getting my membership set up and making me feel welcome in the club. Would definitely recommend!!
Amazing space with lots of equipment! the staff is very professional. I signed up through Aiden, and I find that he is always available to answer questions or address concerns. They offer a great section of classes that you have unlimited access to. The membership fees are a bit steep but I think you get what you pay for and its definitely worth it if you take advantage of everything they have to offer.
Decent gym, trendy crowd inside, but a bit over priced. Overall good experience
Clean and modern facility. Great booking system. Thanks to Rui for assisting in the sign up process and amazing service!
Excellent.
Equinox has an amazing team! Every time I go I am greeted by friendly faces and welcomed into their facility! One of their employees Rui, is amazing and goes above and beyond to make sure my gym experience is maximized. He is friendly and always positive, greatly contributing towards my experience. Thanks for being such a great facility and staffing the best people :)
Been a member since 2019 and love It! My membership advisor Aiden was so helpful with any questions I had, and still to this day checks in with me to see how I’m enjoying the club! Always spotlessly clean, friendly staff and insightful personal trainers who’re always on hand to help out or give advice! Will truly never go to any other gym!
Equinox is my favourite gym. With our current health situation they really make the effort to continuously keep the equipment sanitized. It’s impressive. I workout early in the morning and late at night and its always clean. And Lu Hernandez she just so friendly and professional.
I’ve had the opportunity to try out a few Equinox locations globally and all I can say it this location does an amazing job of making you feel like family. The change rooms are always clean (great cleaning staff extremely attentive), the front desk are kind and get to know you by name if you are a frequent, the classes are varied so you get a mix of everything and last but not least the instructors are very attentive. Only cons are that the main lobby can be cold but that can be fixed with the right gear and classes do fill up quick so you need to make sure you book as soon as they become available. They need more locations in Vancouver!!!
Aiden signed me up a couple years ago. I see him as a very valuable part of the Equinox team! Professional, responsive and informative at the time I joined and has been ever since. Great gym to join if you're looking for workouts that count with lots of variety.
Love this gym. Always clean, has the best lotions and soap. They even have lemongrass wet towels. The staff are great! Rui Cardoso got me all set up and I even got a credit to the store. Highly recommend
Made the decision to join! Rui has helped me with everything and I am so happy with it all :)
Very over rated ,nothing special
Customer service over the phone Is horrible! Worst people ever!!
Equinox is a great club! Lu Hernandez was absolutely fantastic helping me through the process of signing up and taking care of everything. She has been an absolute pleasure to work with and has made the experience fantastic!
It was great thanks to Tyler personal trainer thanks again
The location has gotten BUSY since August with restrictions easing, but they haven't ramped up cleaning efforts to the same level. The women's change room has been packed: both towel sections were overflowing, and there's leftover hair in the showers. Walls also staining. The Kiehl's products are still lovely but they only have a few hair dryers and they're old/cheap and slow. As for the gym floor, it's getting crowded and so you often have to wait to use the equipment. Hard to find space between 5-7pm and there's no reservation system. Overall not exactly an impressive experience when they're charging you premium prices $$$. P.S. Not sure what's with all the 5 star reviews from sign ups. I've barely heard from the person who signed me up, seems suss.
Terrible customer service. staff dont know what others are upto, what promotions are going on. not accomodating to you once you have signed up. the gym is so tiny
Equinox is a fantastic gym. The overall vibe is great and I have had nothing but good experiences. I definitely recommend it. If you decide to check it out or join look for Aiden, he is awesome!!!
Been a member for over a year now and have nothing but good things to say. The facility is always very clean and stocked up. The trainers never hesitate to answer questions or give you a spot on your lifts. When I was heading to sign up I already knew it’s the gym I wanted to train at but after speaking with Rui (membership advisor) I was beyond sold and very excited to start right away. Rui was very polite and knowledgeable. It was very refreshing to get a tour from someone who actually knows what hes talking about and very easy to talk to. I hope to stay as long as I’m in the area with staff like Rui you always feel welcome.
Great gym! Very clean and safe in regards to how often the staff are sanitizing equipment, socially distancing people etc. Jen W helped me get signed up. Stress free and made me excited to join! Thanks equinox
Lu gave me very good guide. She is very professional and friendly. She has checked in consistently after I joined for a while. Claudia is vary nice as well. Today I had my first pilate class with Maryna and I love it.
Obviously the facility is stunning but I really love the welcoming and social environment. I spoke to two of the trainers during my workout, Rich and Troy; they were very friendly and knowledgeable. I hope this will be my new home away from home!
Recently joined and was impressed by the space and the service of the team. Rui signed me up and was very informative and presented options in a non-pushy or "salesy" way. He was collaborative and took the time to understand goals and what environment I was looking for. Thanks Rui and also Kev for the PT session!
I went here to check it out but soon realized it was not a good fit for me because the customer service isn’t very good. They only want you to sign up for the money and come off judgemental. Giving it an extra because the facility looks nice.
Signed up a few weeks ago with Rui. He was very professional and very efficient. He is one of many people that make the club a pleasure to visit.
This Equinox is mint from the friendly&personable staff, to the equipment, and facility itself. They make sure every detail of your experience has a touch of luxury. I had the pleasure of working with Lu who has the absolute best energy and vibes. She always checks in to make sure my experience at Equinox is always exceptional. Great community, extremely clean, and can't forget about the eucalyptus towels. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Equinox to anyone looking for a new gym in the city. You'll be looking forward to walk through those doors and feel amazing walking out!
Elis was so friendly and nice , she answered all my questions so patiently and helped me through the registration
Sad to be moving to Alberta because I will miss this gym so much! Nothing will compare to the high standards at West Georgia Street. Big shoutout to Jen Wickson for helping me get started on my fitness journey.
Been a member here for a long time. They are doing a great job keeping everything sanitized during covid. Rui was the one that sold me originally on the gym. Go talk to him!!
I would give Lu a five star review, due to her professional and friendly response. She share very detailed information for my friend who are interested in join Equinox. They all love her.
I’m always well received and the facilities are amazing!! Classes are incredible! Rui from the staff is always resourceful and helpful
Elis is great. She was very helpful in getting me signed up for a membership and explained everything clearly. ????
I am a person who had not work out in the gym for a few years, I signed up with LU and I am delighted, she is always attentive to me and super charming! the gym is incredible, very clean and with great equipment and classes
Right from when we walked in to check out the space, my partner and I were so impressed! Rui was so helpful in helping us get signed up and explaining all of the perks we get by being a member. I am loving trying out all of the different classes they offer! The space is clean and makes me feel so motivated. Im very happy we signed up!
Love this gym. It's worth every penny.
Mixed lot, like most gyms. To start with the good - the staff are generally pretty friendly, the locker rooms are nice and you don’t need to bring a lock. The eucalyptus towels etc. I appreciate not having to bring anything with me to the gym. The maintenance staff are amazing and do a fantastic job of keeping everything clean. The trainers you see on the floor are your typical mix. Some seem great and knowledgeable, others.... less so (note - I don’t use personal training so this is just based on observation of what they’re doing with their clients, whether they do the exact same program with every client or mix it up, if they’re correcting their form, etc.) They do usually have one trainer floating around which is fantastic - so you can ask for a spot or if you need some help with equipment, questions about your form, etc. It’s great resource to have. Have never taken a class there, so can’t comment. The weight floor is small. Not a whole lot of equipment, but they have the basics. It would be nice if, for the membership fees, they could put in some interesting or new equipment like a reverse hyper, or glute drive, or anything. The upside is since they don’t really have a focus on free weights, there’s never a wait for squat racks. I mainly come to the gym because it’s btwn work and home and not too far off my bike route, so it’s the convenience factor.
Equinox is a great place to workout. Lu, Equinox’s representative is amazing! She always check on me and make sure I have a great experience at the gym. If you are looking to take a pilates session, I would recommend Maryna, Pilates instructor she is the best. I enjoyed her session. She knows what each individual needs well also pushing and motivating her client to reach new heights. For personal trainer, Kev is helpful knowledgeable trainer. He gives me some great workout programs and tips over the times I works with him. Other staff members are also very helpful. Highly recommend to contact Lu if you looking to join the gym. She will be showing you around.
