Good equipment, and workers are nice, but there is lack of social distancing with people and sometimes after using machines, people won't clean it. Also there use to be a covid screening (temp check,questions) which is gone, i guess everyone is fine now

This gym is the pinnacle of professionalism & has an amazing staff. Stefanie specifically has been no stranger to going above and beyond her work duties to assist gym members! I remember about a month ago I found myself in a troubling situation in the bathroom, unable to leave I called the front desk in tears. After explaining my issues, and without any hesitation she sprang into action, almost knocking the door off the hinges as she entered in an industrial hazmat suit. She came equipped with an arsenal of supplies and expeditiously eliminated any trace of the prior incident! Even after going above and beyond she still showed immense courtesy by giving me an air freshener for the trip home!! Overall amazing place and I would recommend it to any of my friends!

gym is clean, great equipment however the cancellation process was a huge headache because they extended my contract during the covid closure which I did not agree to, also I'm not sure why there is a cancellation fee for not showing up to my "gym appt" when I'm already paying a monthly membership fee, it should not matter if I show up or not.

I love all the gym classes and the instructors but unfortunately the one girl I had to deal with at the front desk was the worst person I've had to interact with at the gym . I had to wait in line for someone who's fob didn't work, and we all had to wait. I had a class starting do I asked to use my fob to get in and the girl behind the counter told me to get back and wait. .....perhaps there should be a line for those who have fobs that work and those who don't. Then the same girl was rude that I take cleaner bottle, when I have my own mat for centergy and a cleaner and not touching any golds equipment. But the same girl was aggressive, and embarrassed me when I said I wasn't going to be using the spray bottle ....golds worst front desk employee . Saturday morning, September 26th.

Really unhappy with cancellation policy. We've been members since opening but stopped attending. We cancelled on December 31, 2019 and requested they stop charging our card. Since then we have 4 more charges and they won't acknowledge our cancellation. Total RIP OFF.

Facilities are good but many group classes are over-full. The ones that are comfortable to be in, get cancelled because of lower attendance. I was a member, but quit because of too many classes being cancelled or being changed in the schedule.

As soon as I walked in the door I was blown away! Very impressive Facility and the staff there is incredible! Warm and inviting, my daughter and I had a tour with David, and I was amazed on how organized and clean the gym was. The equipment is top notch compared to what I’m used to and the variety of the equipment was almost mind boggling! Mostly though I love the personal touch the staff have with the patrons and they’re always keen to help! I’m so happy we signed up and I would recommend to anyone wanting a amazing gym, even just a fitness community to join ????

Gold’s gym Langley is hands down the best gym choice in the Surrey/Langley area. It doesn’t matter whether you are looking for a convenient location, expansive training space over two floors, or ample parking-Gold’s meets all of these criteria and more. What I especially find endearing are the super friendly staff who are personable and help create a warm and trusting atmosphere.

Do not recommend. Had a person provide me a tour, bring me to their office and push me for a membership. I only wanted to try it out but after a month they tell me it is a $399 cancellation fee. Very manipulative pricing model, do not recommend.

You tell your bros, you're just trying to be like them and they tell you they just tryin' to be like you, and together you hit and make all kinds of gains

I recommend their trainer Marco. He is excellent! Marco is very friendly and motivational. He is quite versed on all the training techniques and knows what areas to target for fat burn and weight loss. Overall I rate him an A+ trainer. In addition, the facility is clean, great staff and they are very friendly and helpful.

I really really wanted to give a 5, but after recent events I lowered my score. I have been going to golds off and on for many years but have recently been going more often. However, to my surprise a lot of the instructors have left!! It’s very concerning when so many awesome instructors leave. The gym also needs a few updates here and there but I mainly go for the classes and with all the instructors dropping like flies it’s very disappointing...

I cancelled my membership over 18 months ago. The cancellation was approved because I was moving. I paid my last payment July of 2019. October 30th 2020 had a withdraw of the amount of $210.00 taken out of my account from Golds Gym. There was no warning or notification that I owed this money . I was very upset as this was the end of the month and I had other bills that needed to be paid . I ended up going into overdraft . I called the gym 4x on the weekend . Speaking to random girls at the front desk repeating my story several times while each girl told me they would help me by getting someone higher up to assist my situation. This lead no where as I called again Monday in the afternoon. This time asking to speak directly to a manager . He told me he did not see this payment on my account and gave me an email address to the support team. I sent a detailed email asking for a phone call and help on this matter. I continued to get automated emails with no response of an actual human. Finally on Wednesday they emailed me back stating I owe for a previous child care fee. I asked for a phone call and some sort of proof on documents that I owed this money . Again I was responded with automated messages. I cancelled my child care in 2017 with golds gym verbally though front desk staff and was no longer using that service because my child was in day care full time. I have continued to get ZERO help with this matter. I have again called golds and left messages for the manager to call me and I have heard nothing from no one. I want a refund . I would give this facility zero stars as staff , management, and their support staff are very unprofessional and not helpful .

Marco Banco. So many great things about this trainer. I am in my 50's and have numerous body issues & old injuries going back to my 20's. Marco has a solid & well educated understanding of muscle & movement kinesiology in human beings & lack therefore of post injury & muscle stagnancy. After years of thousands of dollars spent on physiotherapy, massage, accupuncture, gym memberships, trainers, - he was the only one able to tell me why my glute was not firing & actually get it to start firing again. The science behind working out. My hip flexors had completely taken over & were burnt out & hugely contributing to my low back pain on top of an already injured L4& L5. Marco taught me all about this & designed workouts that corrected, alieviated & built strength into this area. ( As well as my other less significant 20+ year injuries & imbalances) As well, his personality is warm, relaxed, funny & inspiring. He inspires my confidence & determination to be the best version of myself & teaches me the skills to get there. He teaches me the tools both mentally, physically & emotionally to bring my best to the table in the gym which translates positivity into my personal life. Thank you Marco!

***** UPDATE***** BUYERS BEWARE***** Here’s the update from my post 3 weeks ago. Since then, the two accounts that were suppose to be canceled once again were charged. We contacted Golds again, and were connected with Dylan one of the managers. He had read our review and was familiar with our post. He listened to the situation. Agreed multiple times that this is not how you treat customers, and was actually quite understanding. He understood our frustration and stated he would look into this and try and speak with Safana, but since she is an accounts Manager and runs all the accounts for most locations its very limited what he can do but recommended we contact Andrew ( owners son) to file a complaint and provided his email. After some time passed we were contact once again by Dylan who informed us, that he could confirm our two accounts requested to be cancel is now complete and no further chargers would be done but there will be no refund. As upsetting and frustrating as that is, we informed Dylan that although we appreciate his help and know it’s not him but Safana making things difficult we would be contacting the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint, because at this point they are robbing us and taking money out of our account for a service that we cannot use due to COVID and being severely high risk. We recently lost two family members to COVID and take this matter very seriously. After some consideration, we decided to take it as a loss and just be grateful our requested accounts were closed. Now fast forward to today. My wife called in to book her work out session. She later received a call from Dylan who informed us that Safana had decided to cancel her membership. When asked why, he responded “ well you didn’t have such nice things to say about her online”. She responded to Dylan “ you realize as a consumer I have the right to write a review good or bad, and have the right to publicly discuss my experience, so my membership is being canceled because Safana’s feelings are hurt”..... Not only is this abuse of power this is also discrimination. Keep in mind that she has been using the gym since January 6th, and today February 15 they decided to cancel her membership out of no where. There has been no negative interactions with the staff or any other members she simple goes does her work out and leaves and always has a smile on her face and even laughs and jokes with some of the girls at the front and at the core bar. So please explain how this isn’t abuse of power, and not discriminative behaviour from Management? It’s disgusting. There has been nothing new that has occurred for them to decide to cancel her membership. All conversations that took place regarding the previous matter were done so by telephone and by email. To be clear, Golds gym is a great gym as far as equipment and other members. However management is so unprofessional. This golds locations has had far to many issues with management and staff- Just read below the other reviews. My son and I are high risk and cannot take any chances catching COVID, simple. You’d think a gym we have been members with for year would be more understand and compassionate, but instead they profited off this, took unauthorized money from our accounts for services we could not use! Which they were fully aware of I do hope the owner of this location really takes into consideration the fact he has Safana in management abusing her power, discriminating against clients and destroying long relationship with clients. Lastly, I would like an explanation as to why after a month and 15 days of my wife using her membership and going almost everyday she decided to cancel her membership? This is the definition of DISCRIMINATION.....so the public can only write good reviews? But when it’s a negative one or calling out Safana disrespect towards clients she abuses her power and just cancels a membership a month later? Also instead of Safana contacting her directly she got Dylan to do her dirty work. Pathetic.

Normally I go to golds poco and talked that place up only to bring my sister to golds Langley which in comparison is a dump. Staff not welcoming at all, it was both of our first visits here and we let them know that and ASKED to be shown around yet we weren't. The women's section is a literal dungeon of old broken unwanted gym equipment. The women's change room has a bunch of broken lockers. We came to use the pool and that's closed for maintenance (which obviously not the staffs fault) but this gym is awful in comparison. The other location is bright and welcoming no matter what part of the gym you choose to use, I will probably never return to this location. Fingers crossed the new location next year has the pool and hot tub option.

Was a member for 4.5 years. I'll never go back. I've watched the gym go steadily downhill since my first day there. During my time there was an extended period of 9 months where the hot tub didn't work. There were countless machines that were broken, or in need of a tune up that never got performed. Countless locker, and vehicle break in's that could have been solved with a security camera system monitoring entrances and exits. Of the 4 showers in the men's locker room 2 of them only produced hot water for 2.5 years, even after many complaints, they still took that long to call a plumber in to fix it. I got a new credit card, and went in 6 days after getting the new card to update the file, they charged me a 35 dollar late fee that never got refunded. The final kicker for me was a hot tub that was closed for 2 days, then opened for 1 day (I used it this 1 day) then closed again for 8 weeks. The reason? Someone took a dump in there. So they knowingly opened an unhealthy, unsafe hot tub to use. Then when it finally did reopen, they decided to close the hot tub 2 days a week, during exactly the time that I head in there. At this point, this gym was actually considerably worse than either pool/rec centre in Langley. I can't see any reason why I'd go back. Their customer service is spotty at best. The frontline employees do nothing, because they are empowered to do nothing. All they are is baby sitters, and form filler outers. When I advised I was leaving for all the above issues, there was no apology, no attempt to understand the issues, no commitment to improve, just an "ok, we'll process you out". I spend $2500 over 4 years there. I am now setting up my own gym in my garage, I can do so much more, so close to home, without any issues that can't be immediately resolved. Save your money, build a home gym, don't give these crooks a dime!

I've been to many gyms in my life across the country and this place is the absolute best! I'm a proud member for 4 years.The facilities are very clean and upkept. Tons of machines to choose from in addition to different private spaces to do your own work outs. The staff is hands down the best in the biz; Very polite and always in a good mood. My mornings are always positive thanks to Paige's smile and sense of humour. I've also had the chance to take some personal training sessions in the last year with Natalie and I can see and feel a huge improvement in my overall look, stamina and mental heath since I've started. I've built some pretty solid friendships thanks to Gold's. I'm really happy I chose this gym 4yrs ago. I would highly recommend Gold's Gym Langley to anyone looking to join or switch from another gym.

I am not renewing my membership after the bad experience I had with the membership team. I went in to discuss a renewal on similar terms to my current membership which was for 3 years. After some back and forth and "oh gee that was such a good deal I don't know if we can do that" and even checking with the manager by phone, they did agree to renew on similar terms. We both signed an agreement, and I paid up front on my credit card and good to go, right? Wrong... the next day I got a call from the gym saying that they made a mistake, that "deal" was no longer available, that it was supposed to be for 2years plus 6 months free not for 3 years. So I would have to come in and re-sign. I told them we had a signed agreement, and they should honour it. Nope, several more emails saying I had 2 options - either renew on the reduced term or we will refund your money. I know legally I could enforce the valid agreement, but I thought why would I want to give these people my business. I have taken my refund and will find myself another gym thank you very much!

Golds is so clean, the staff are always sanitizing, fixing equipment promptly and the janitors are always there making sure everything is spotless. Most of the equipment is really great, some of them I think put you in a funny position. But I wouldn't let that turn you away because it's very few and that's just my opinion.

I signed up for this gym with the knowledge that I would be moving for work in a couple months. The general manager and a personal trainer promised me I could cancel anytime without a fee. After moving away I phoned to cancel, and to my surprise a hidden fee of $300 pops up and they say it’s against company policy to not charge this fee. I spend a week trying to email and call with no avail saying that it doesn’t matter what they told me it’s against policy. Would not recommend this gym to anyone.

Honestly, I really want to like this gym. But, the worst customer service. Bad cleanliness. Terrible parking. I often drive over the bridge to go to their poco location just to get away from this place. Which is fine. I advise you look at one of the other gyms in the area, if I didn’t live literally right beside the place I wouldn’t go.

Started out ok then went downhill fast! Gym has lots of equipment and "perks" like pool, sauna, hot tub but leaves a lot to be desired. Constant breakdown of equipment, womens changeroom is under repair at all times with broken lockers and toilets, regular staff turnover and they are not 100% open about their contracts. When I went to sign up I asked to have a paper copy of the contract to read at home before signing up. They told me no it was all online. The man i spoke to then gave me the "important bits of information" and i mistakenly trusted him. I have now moved and have had to jump through a circus of hoops to leave that contract or pay out $300 in a fee I was never told about. This place is a vipers den. Dont waste your money on a place that dosent take care of itself and lies to its customers.

Membership at your own risk. I had a manager tell me it was OK to cancel anytime I wanted during my 2 year contract and I made sure he wrote it on the top of the contract. After 18 months I decided to move and the girl at the front desk told me she would process it. 1 month later I get a statement saying I owe a cancellation charge and the 6 month balance. So I go back in speak to the manager and she says she will take care of it. So everything square so I thought, 3 months later I get a collections notice and it gets posted to my credit bureau report. Gold's trying to screw me again. So I go back in and get them to send a request to the head office and finally it gets cleared 1 year later. Good facilities, TERRRRRIBLE service and that's why you see a new person working their every month. Go somewhere else

I go to this place every single day, and that's not an exaggeration. The gym is very well equipped and should suffice to what most people would need. The staff are very friendly and I always end up talking to them for a bit before and after my workouts. Kurt in particular was super helpful when he spotted one of my lifts, huge shoutout to him. The only gripe I have with this place is that the members are very bad at putting away their weights when they are done with them. This isn't the fault of the staff however and they usually try their best to clean up after the messy members.

Read the fine print...what someone says is in the agreement and what actually is are two very different things. I actually asked if there was an auto renew...answer was no. I've been told 2 months of my credit card being charged that I now have to give one month notice. BAD BUSINESS GOLD'S GYM, thought you were better than this.

Worst experience ever. Total joke. I would NEVER recommend this gym to anyone. I tried to transfer a friends membership over into my name and was said they don't do it anymore, even though my freinds wife had just transfered her membership into someone elses name the day before. I was then told I could get it transered to only have them say a week later it couldn't be done..... Staff at the front desk were not useful at all, didn't know prices on memberships, child minding, swimming lessons etc, they name called the (assistant?)manager a lot that was there at the time, gave him attitude on the phone when she would call and ask where my contract was infront of me, just really unprofessional. Anyways when I eventually got the girl to tell me how much it would be for 3 months ( had to ask over and over again) she said $250....my mouth dropped. Then said "yeah its a total rip off here". WHAT!!!!!! so unprofessional. SCAM, DO NOT GO HERE

Gold’s is a beautiful facility with all of the amenities you could think of! All of the staff are so welcoming and friendly, even through the masks you can see their smiles. I love coming to this gym and using their pool.... However, I have asked repeatedly that they turn up the temp in the water, to no avail. If I want to be freezing cold (even an intense workout isn't warming the body) I may as well swim in our local lake. And.... One more tidbit.... The cleaning staff must be on hiatus. The same pile of hair and ick has been in the change rooms for weeks now.

I’ve been training with Marco Banco for 4 months now and I am thrilled with his professionalism, knowledge and style. The guy is a tank so he clearly knows what he’s talking about. He’s taken me from 230lbs to 205lbs and I no longer look and feel like a blob of chewed up bubblegum. The past month being a Golds Gym member has been an absolute pleasure. The equipment is very superior and the Langley location is super spacious. During the COVID-19 pandemic, their policies are well thought out and I feel very safe working out and going to the amenities. Ashton has been a professional and great representative to his clients. ------ Gold's Gym "Under New Management" ----- or at least, it appears that way. I have been in a lengthy process of evaluating whether or not to commit to this gym and have been looking at other options (Fit4Less and Steve Nash are the close ones). I want to dispel any notion that Gold's is run even remotely similar to the manner it was before. I had the pleasure of being accommodated by Scott and also some of the upper-management. They explained to me that there was a shift in mind-set and management culture recently after the owners (I assume?) realised that not all staff were handling customers well. They went from (judging by the comments) pressuring, money-focused sales people to kind, friendly, non-pressuring advisers. I was given a 3 day pass (free) and then he gave me and my wife space to workout! No pressuring, no number-crunching right off the bat. Just freedom to feel out the gym. When I decided to sign up the manager who assisted me took the time to walk-through all the terms, and actually prioritized me understanding everything over "getting it over it," she took her time, was friendly and ensured I was okay and on board before moving forward with every section. The contract was reasonable, competitive (compared to similar gyms, not discount gyms), and easy to understand. The locker rooms have had a huge upgrade, have lounging areas with TV;s, nice wood finish lockers, UV Saunas, and the equipment upstairs is well setup and lots of new and expensive equipment as well as the good-old free weights. Apparently they are going 24/7 soon... And getting proper crash-plates and Olympic pads... Time will tell, but even if they don't, I am so pleased with my experience. I walked out of there feeling like I just made a great decision, not feeling like I was talked into something and dumped after the bill. Would recommend any one to seriously consider this place. Its a luxury gym (not a rec centre or discount gym like Fit4Less), so don't complain about the price and compare it to those (No one shops for a Ferrari and complains it doesn't have a Civic's price tag). But Steve Nash has been spamming my emails and phone non-stop since I checked it out and I felt like I was just a commission in my sales guy's eyes. Go check it out. Experience the new Golds for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

The 3.1 star rating doesn't do this gym justice. It's a huge multi level gym with a brand new sports specific section, power lifting room, stretching room and all the cardio, weights and machines you could ever need. Clean facilities and friendly staff. What else could you ask for?

The pool has been closed for close to 6 months. I went in this morning and it was still closed as of 6am. I phoned in the afternoon to see if it was open and it was, but they are not sure if it will be open in the morning. If you are a swimmer do not rely on this gym. You can show up ready to do your drills in the pool only to find out it has closed again. The hot tub is hit and miss as well. Really is a disappointment if it was not your weights day. Many of the bikes and treadmills have an option broken as well. TV does not work or it is fizzy, volume broken etc. It has been like this for years. New equipment has been brought in which is a bonus but if you use the other stuff you are out of luck. Close to home or I would be at Walnut Grove Rec centre.

If you’re looking for a gym to go to definitely come here!! This gym has so many amazing amenities, sadly not all of them are open due to covid but that’s understandable. Super friendly staff and overall good environment. Definitely try the smoothies at core culture too they’re delicious!

Its not a bad gym, a little expensive. The pool is so cold and thats the only reason I go there and I haven't been going because its so cold. It could use a good clean and someone should check the PH levels in the pool. Its very cloudy and maybe clean it. The bathrooms could use a good maintenance check as well. Other than that its not a bad gym.

During my travels I have seen a lot of gyms. This one is a good one. It's apparent it's been around for a bit as the lockers had their fair share of wear but it was clean and had everything I needed. I arrived around 7:15am on a Saturday morning and had the lifting room to myself (which is nice to not have to wait for a rack). As it got closer to 8:30am, and I was in the main machine area, there were still benches available when the gym started getting busier. I never had to wait for a piece of equipment. Which for me is a big deal. Staff made it easy for a drop in, not an excessive amount of paperwork, just the basics. Well done Gold's Gym Langley. When I'm in town I'll be back.

This place has no consideration for their clients needs. Even coming up with a plan that works for both parties can't happen. To top it off you are not allowed to carry any type of bag or purse on the floor. They have to be locked up in the locker room which is on a separate floor or your car, which both areas have had continual break-ins. DO NOT GO HERE....

I've been going here almost 5 years, I'm only going still because after two years of fighting and lots of stress on my part, I've negotiated a fair membership fee. Technically they would still owe me money but I gave up trying, customer experience is very low on their priority list. I was lied to on multiple occasions from different employees because they always quit and hire new ones (comparable to car salesman,). There's a feeling that the management thinks it can slack on genuine customer service because of the fancy TV's and a few good machines. This gym cuts corners wherever it can. NO AIR CONDITIONING (none at all), average quality equipment on the whole (some good, some terrible), slimy employees. There are some good things to be said, they have a lot of equipment, they have a pool, hot tub, showers, sauna, steam room and fitness programs. On the whole I'd give the equipment and amenities quality a 3/5. The service and lazy maintenance dropped their over all score to 2/5 in my opinion. I would've gone 1.5 but google wouldn't let me. Unless you live close by like me, I wouldn't make the trip out to Golds.

Despite what others say it’s a good gym. Has everything you need plus the bonus of the pool/sauna/hot tub/steam room. They constantly have cleaners in there and it’s usually clean other than the hot tub which lately seems like they’ve been doing a better job. They should really try repairing stuff properly and faster that’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars. I’ve been working out here for almost 8 years.. all the staff have always been good.

I signed up with Golds during construction with the understanding that I would be charged only after the pool was finished. Unfortunately I was charged right from the beginning. After I complaint about it a very nice lady took car of it and we came to a mutual agreement. At one time I was charged twice, the finaces are handled by an outside company, the problem was rectified right away. Since I use only the pool I am not fammiliar with other exercise equipment. The pool, changing room, toilets and showers are clean and well looked after. The hot tub is some times out of order. The temperature control of the showers is not well adjusted, if some one other turnes on cold water (shower or toilet) you may get scalded. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Had to cancel my membership, due to unforseen circumstances, and had the manager continue to ignore my request. Then magically charge me for months after I asked to have it cancelled. Nice staff, great cleaners, poor management though. There are much better gyms out there, better rates as well.

Don't know why the place has bad reviews. Been here for 18 months and the facility is pretty nice. Has everything I need in terms of equipment, steam room, sauna, hot tub, and pool. Yes you pay more but I find it's worth the money as I can always find equipment even during peak hours. Before this I used club 16 for three years and fitness world/Steve Nash for 10. I like this one the most. Yes there is hard sales that are equal time share presentations but look past it and look at what you're getting....the product. By far this is the worst part of it and if they just sold the product without this aspect there'd be less angry people. Don't get me wrong it's like this at fitness world too.

Good gym not overly crowded with fairly updated new equipment regularly. Staff are great very friendly and greet every time. Women's is downstairs while men's/Women's heavy weights and machines are above. Also with many cardio machines that are never full. For reference I typically go for 7pm to ensure majority of the crowd is gone. Offers steam and sauna and pool. New take grass downstairs for more cross fit options. Lots of yoga Zumba type classes offered too. Hours are okay, really wish the evening on weekends was past 8pm. They gave false promise of going 24hours when we signed up. Hasn't happened and it's been about a year and half. Overall good gym

During covoid19 i was not able to use the facilities, i cancelled the gym memebership finally cause i was moving out of the country, and now i got an email saying i owe 400$ or it will be going to collections. I have been out of the country for 4 months now. Great gym pre-virus but how can any company charge you for a facility you cant use regardless of a contract. I guess there is such thing as free money for this gym!!

This has to be the most well-equipped and spacious gym I’ve even been to, in over 20 years of working out! With their stringent COVID-19 protocols in place training feels safe, and the booking system means that the gym is never overcrowded. Which in turn means, you rarely have to wait for equipment. The staff are super friendly too. It’s so nice to be acknowledged by the trainers who first signed me up each time they see me in the gym. It makes me feel like they weren’t just interested in signing me up, but are keen to be a part of my journey here. Also, there was no hard upsell of personal training packages, which is a major turn off in other gyms.

I do not recommend this location! Equipment is constantly broken, it is dirty, and the pool/hot tub has been closed for most of my year going here. When complaining to management about the pool they always say they are waiting on a part or need to balance chemicals. Got an email a few days ago saying the pool is finally open and went there yesterday to find it is closed again and they need to balance chemicals.. They make you pay a high gym improvement fee each year yet the gym is never in proper working order so it just seems like a money grab. They boast about the state of the art facilities on the website but it sadly isn't like that at all. I do not recommend the Gold's Langley location.

The Gym is Very nice. However, they will say whatever you want to hear to get you to sign up. I told them I would be moving within a year and they told me to still sign up for the 2 year membership as it was much cheaper. They told me that I could move my membership to another Golds Gym at that time or cancel the membership if it was too far away to get to. A year later I moved and when I went to cancel they told me I had to live at least 51 Kilometers away in order to cancel. WHO TRAVELS 51K to get to a gym?!?! So I paid for a year that I did not go to the gym for. When The year was up they charged me a renewal fee and continued to charge me monthly payments even though I had notified them several times that I did not want to renew. Once in writing as that is what they demand..... Ohh and come to find out my cheaper year term (at $52 a month) was a HUGE rip off!!!! This was my fault for not looking into other gyms before purchasing DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!!!! GO TO STEVE NASH OR 24 HOUR FITNESS OR ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!!!

There is a serious lack of maintenance on their equipment at this location . Whenever I see a problem I notify staff or management and I am told that they are "waiting on parts" well its been over 2 months for some equipment so I'm guessing that was to just brush me off. The reason I signed up for golds gym is because I was under the impression that it would be held to a high standard, instead its lazy staff who wont even switch out a treadmill with another one that is working perfectly but has a sign on it because of "covid". Instead they will just put a sign on the broken one " under maintenance" which has been there over a month. Its bad enough that half of the cardio equipment isn't in use because of covid and even worse that staff is too lazy to swap out with a machine that IS working. Overall I can say I regret joining this gym and all I can say is support your local gyms instead of this corporate giant.

I’ve been going here for a few years and love this gym. I’ve been to many different gyms and this gym is better in many aspects. The equipment, location, customer service, size, and amenities are all great. And kudos to Dylan for providing amazing service!

I must say that my experience with this gym was perfect. The trainers constantly motivated me and corrected my posture to achieve best results in less time. Our first experience with this gym was so horrible that we didn't even use the facilities for the first year of our membership. When me and my wife first signed up at Gold's Gym Langley we were told that if we paid for the 2 year membership up front we would receive an extra year at no charge so I ended up paying the entire membership fee in cash. Two months later we received a phone call that our credit card didn't go through for the monthly membership payments. To make a long and frustrating story short it turns out that the membership manager that we dealt with had actually pocketed our money and filled out the membership agreement with a fake Credit Card. Golds Gym Langley ended up honoring our membership in the end but they did not give us the third year free as promised by the original membership manager. About a year later we finally decided to start going to the gym and we purchased a personal training package which we kept up for about 6 months or so. Then, about four months after we had stopped the personal training sessions the CC payments began to come out of our account again. When I called to ask them what was going on they told me that our previous trainer had only paused our PT and that she had not actually cancelled it as requested. That's fine people make mistakes, and if this company would just own up to their mistake and reimburse my $1000 that they've taken out of my account without authorization I would forgive and forget, but that is NOT what they are doing. To say that this company is poorly managed is an understatement and I wouldn't recommend giving them any of your financial information!

I went here today to check it out despite the bad reviews since it's fairly close to my new apt. The moment I walked through the door I was confronted with some ad that was espousing the greatness of peer pressure. I immediately thought of the 'Globo Gym' in the Dodge Ball movie. Walking about to the counter my nasal passages were assaulted with fake tan spray and that vanilla perfume I thought went out of style 10 years ago. The counter staff seemed to be picked based on cup size and actual interest in serving since when I asked for a tour of the place I was initially ignored by bobble head 1 and 2. When I finally got someone to come to meet me he turned the hand shake into a strength competition (weird). When I responded to his question about what I was looking for in a gym with "Clean,well maintained equipment, decent cardio section, and not to many muscle heads in the free weights section" he gave me a weird look that told me everything I needed to know about the last part and responded with "We have lots of muscle around here" I knew I wasn't going to sign up if I could help it. After the tour I could tell he was trying to get me into an office to apply some of the sales tactics so many have already mentioned here, so I cut him short by asking straight out what the prices were, and I have to say $52 a month is pretty par but they don't offer the basics like towel service, and the $80 adder to the first month really is BS. Oh yeah he said there JUST happened to be a promo that was ending today that would wave 1/2 that fee. Needless to say I won't be signing up to this gym anytime in the near future. I only wish Good Life would open a Langley location to appeal to those of us that don't go to the gym to train to replace forklifts.

My experice was just that a 1 star Gold standard from universal gym service to membership cancellation. You cant use their membership around the world like they say because nobody qill execpt it. One visit per gym out of city policy is stupid and ur screwed if theres only 1 golds gym in that city. Anytime fitness allows multiple uses at any of their facilities , in any city. Be sure to keep your records and reciepts and due diligence when cancelling your membership even after you sign all lroper socs and return their fob, theyll mysteriously loose your paperwork and xharge you extra $500 in oustanding membership payment which will go to collections and mess with ur crdit rating if u want to get a mortage.Its ok to bug them cause their word is bad like the Gold standard. Different from qhen they first started,all gone down the toliet and barely surving on their name. Anytime fitness or a local gym has better facilty and trained staff that dont push u on garbage contracts full of holes , Garbage experience. Be on ur toes and dbl check ur paperwork and call to comfirm cancellation with gym and bank ect. Honestly I would like to trust my gym and not stress about hidden fees and getting hooked after i cancel, grimy experice that i would only expect from a back alley 3rd wrld gym,not the gold standard!

They have very poor policies for give up on membership. I moved to Ontario and i have already provided their cancellation department what they needed for my move. But it has been almost 3rd month they are taking money out of my credit card. They say they don’t accept driver licence. But i think if some one moves out of province the only thing they get is a driver licence. Moreover in this covid pandemic it takes usually longer to get all your ID’s and all. It takes almost more than a month to get your bills. I have already given them all those documents months ago but they said it won’t work. Then i gave them what they were demanding and i asked them i have already put this request months ago so don’t charge me now but they said you have to pay one month more this is our policy. I won’t recommend this gym go find a good one where you can easily cancel your membership anytime. I have talked to their staff before joining that i will move soon he said there won’t be any problem to cancel your membership but now this is happening. Paying for nothing.

I just want to share my experience. My wife didn't even had an idea that she is getting into a 3 year contract. She thought it was a one year contract. Sales men are so smart in Gold Gym langley. I think they get huge incentive to fool people. They wont even come on the phone once you take the membership You can only write an email. They will charge you a huge cancellation fees if you want to get out of contract. My advise to all of you get into YMCA / Recreation you do not have to get into a 3 year forced contract. In YMCA and Surrey Recreation centre you can cancel anytime without any question. I am also gonna report this to BBB and make sure that they do not repeat it to any one. I will also spread my word on TWITTER INSTAGRAM FACEBOOK LINKEDIN. My wife just had a baby and our financial situation isnt that great and these guys wants a letter from the doctor so unhuman. GREAT WAY OF DOING BUSINESS. You all getting a lot of curse. Despite what everyone says,i have no issues or money problems what so ever. It has been an absolutley great facility for my intense training. I have even felt good enough about the gym to recruit my mom and dad to sign up. Going on my third year and there first, there has been many improvements with speed on broken equipment and managment. This is defintley the gym to go to in Langley.

Probably the best gym I've been to in the lower mainland. I used to use budget gyms alot because of inconsistency in my own schedule but recently decided to dish out in hopes it would motivate me to make time for myself. The facility is great, the staff is super nice and helpful and the equipment is top tier. Unfortunately cant use the pool yet because of Covid but I'm looking forward to reaching and maintaining my fitness goals here.

I was a member at this location for a few years, worst gym in the lower mainland, avoid at all costs. They take your money but when you try to leave after your contract expires they make it very difficult. Equipment is always broken, the facility and equipment was always dirty. A horrible place. When I went to cancel my membership the staff told me there was paperwork I had to fill out, they actually gave me a renewal contract. I told them I would not fill it out, when I confronted the staff about the paperwork being the wrong paperwork the female manage got extremely aggressive and started screaming at me. I stood my ground and told her to back off or I would call the RCMP and file a complaint . Eventually the male manager got involved, he was aggressive and unprofessional as well, gave me the proper paperwork, which I filled out with a few modifications, I basically drew a line through it and wrote I am canceling my membership with golds gym effective immediately, signed and dated it.

The 4.1 star rating doesn't do this gym justice. It's a huge multi level gym with a brand new sports specific section, power lifting room, stretching room and all the cardio, weights and machines you could ever need. Clean facilities and friendly staff. What else could you ask for?

They have charged my account an extra $207.47 dollars. I cancelled my membership back in March and have called numerous times about why my account was still being charged. Apparently it was never looked at even though I have called 7 times and talked to Safana personally. I have kept track of my emails and phone calls and this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They said it would be about 4 weeks until I get a refund cheque. I cancelled my credit card just so they wont be able to charge it. Business management protocols are very unethical. I am surprises they haven't been sued. My sister and friends have experienced similar problems with cancelling their accounts. As much as I loved the equipment and the gym (besides the gross washrooms and showers) I AM NEVER going to another golds gym again. I advise people to check their accounts and bills and ensure you aren't being charged extra!! Think before you get a membership. The cancellation is not worth the headache and time. Trust me. Its a waste!!

I raised an issue with the Langley manager about a trainer not wearing his mask, he didn't seem to care in the slightest. Which is ironic because they were just shut down because of covid cases in that gym...

I really like this place. The women's area could be better, but they have a pool. Come on people. We should be grateful to these guys- our only other option is the old pool in Murrayville or the super busy pool in walnut grove. I like coming to Gold's for some peace and quiet and I really like their infrared cubicles. The workers are really welcoming. They are going through some upper management changes, but they will settle down soon. Wish they had a better deal for families.

My husband and I have been members at Langley's Gold's gym since it opened and have seen a continually deterioration of this site. I was there last week and after trying 5 pieces of equipment I finely found one that would work. When I complained to the many staff sitting in the office eating their lunch, no one seemed to care. They pointed to the person I should complain to, and he said he knew the equipment did not work. I offered to show him which equipment was broken and he said "I know." We had come with our son and he was charged $15.00 for drop in which is outrageous since the equipment is broken and the pool is closed because its condition is not healthy or safe. In all fairness my son was offered a free pass the next time he is here. We will see if that is actually what happens. They did not give him anything in writing just said they would enter this information into their computer under his name? Do not waste you money at this gym. I would like to know who the "Local Guide" Reviews are done by. They must be people who are blind and do not use the equipment.

Do me a favor before you sign a membership at this gym. Try and get a manager on the phone. Leave messages, emails, EVEN stop by the gym to see a manager or anyone with any kind of authority to address payment, account issues. It will take you days to weeks to finally talk to one. I recommend you go to the gym as many times as you can by saying you want a free trial week, after they catch on, go elsewhere and get a membership. This place is run by a bunch on un-professional clowns. I cannot wait until my contract is done.

Great gym, though too often too many lineups for equipment. Best part of Golds in this location, is also having a pool and steam room!! The drop in price rates are way too high though, if you don’t keep a monthly membership, or I would go back more often.

This was my first time here and I came in after signing up for a free pass online. So I decided to walk to the gym and once I got there and was greeted by a very unfriendly staff member who did not really seem to care that I was there and did not seem to know what the online pass was that I signed up for. Overall this was a very unwelcoming first visit that I got from the one person working at the front, she did not really seem to care about her job. The gym overall was nice, the equipment was good but I will not be coming back for the rest of my free days I rather not go through the headache of dealing with rude staff.

I went here with a friend of mine to try it out and they are very pushy with selling their membership. To top it off, my friend has been trying to cancel due to a death in the family, she had to move , and she has reached out through email and phone call and they haven't gotten back to her. There's a 30 day cancellation policy and they keep charging her still since they won't get back to her cancelling her account before 30 days. Even though she's given them lots of notice and has sent the proper paperwork. Very discouraging! I would not go to this gym or at least this location.

All of the caregivers are extremely kind and accommodating and from day one my son warmed up them all and loves coming to the gym. Now he is 1.5 years and to this day he is very comfortable here! MOM'S AND DAD'S IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A FACILITY THAT HAS GREAT CHILDMINDING SO YOU CAN WORK OUT WITH A PIECE OF MIND, THIS IS IT! As for the rest of the gym, I have found over the last year and a bit of being here the gym has improved and they keep looking for ways to improve, constant cleaning and maintenance, different classes etc.. Thank you so much Gold's Langley for making me love the gym!

Had a membership for many years. Put up with equipment always being out of order or not working. I struggle to workout while wearing a mask and asked to pause my membership until the mandate was lifted several times with no response. After requesting to cancel I got passed from person to person. Terrible customer service. I will not be returning here post-pandemic, there are many other options now In Langley.

They are open late. Underground parking. Great variety of equipment and areas including pool, women section, spinning room etc. However, in the women's section I have noticed broken down equipment take a long time to repair.

It's average at best, that is until you can't afford to pay your membership and they take your rent cheque, while telling you there is nothing they can do to cancel your membership. Covid has already been hard enough, and you guys making it impossible for me to do anything but be frustrated. You guys are the epitome of unethical.

Marco has been my trainer for the past few years, he's very compassionate, knowledgeable and motivating. He endeavors to understand my unique challenges and abilities. I have an ileostomy, Ehlers-Danlos and Arthritis but he's able to keep up. Over the years the entire staff at Golds Langley has been very supportive and the facilities are kept in good repair and hygienic. The equipment at Gold's is top knock. Whether you are a beginner or experienced Golds has a program for you!

I signed up with the promise that I didnt have to wear a mask while exerting myself mid lifts. This promise was made after Bonnie Henry established more rules. Next day they changed the rule on me and due to health reasons i cannot work out there and they still take $60 dollars from me. My friends asked me about joining, i will advise them NOT to. Worst gym ever. The sales so called manager cunned me and my fiance for our memberships and his sale. He told us that that Golds gym Never gives refunds!!!! 15 days later unfortunately I lost my job and I did need the money back so I tried to see if anyone can help me because I had just lost my job and my one of my family member just had passed on. No one helped us Vanessa the csr just said she can plea my situation to the accounts manager Safana. But now the worse part since Jeol stole money from me just for his own sale he talked to me on the phone and he says even if you knew about the 10 days retainer policy what difference dose it make to you!!! He made almost over $250 in one day from me and he put that into his pocket and took that away from me when I needed it the most. This gym supports theives and they still didn't give any refunds if anything this gym put my account into collections. This gym only cares about making a sell stealing money and no integrity what so ever. THIS IS THE WORST GYM EVER AND I NEVER ADVISE ANYONE TO JOIN GOLDS GYM SUPPOTER OF THEIVES.

Not only did he help me to get on the right track in my work outs and a push in the right direction for my diet, he made sure that I would be comfortable and knowledgeable when I'm working out alone. Pool has been "closed for annual maintenance" for 3 months now. Several exercise machines are out of order for beyond a reasonable amount of time. Staff are generally OK but a dedicated person on the weight floor putting weights away and monitoring things would be a huge plus as its generally a mess. If this gym wasn't on my way to work I would go somewhere where the owner/management has pride.

I just left this gym jan 2017 as i wass moving. This is the best gym in langley if u are serious about exercise. It offers a lot in terms of facilities, hours, classes, pool etc. The female staff are excellent. Some of the instructors who run the classes are the best u could hope 4 from a suburban gym. The female trainers offer really good programs tailored to the client from what i saw. The negative is currently they r renovating and a lot of machines are out of order...i assume that will change. Also the male employees working in the car salesmen booths r the worst stereotype of gym guys but none seem 2 last for long anyway. I cancelled a monthly membership on jan 3rd and was told that u had 2 give 30 days notice and i would be hit up 4 February. But when i emailed the cancellation request 2 safana she said they wouldnt do that. Great service.

I have been going to Golds Gym in Langley since the beginning of March. At first I liked it a lot, I started a routine that I was happy with, everyone seemed friendly, there was nothing I could see that was wrong. Well, once I started asking where my key fob was, so I could get in the gate without asking them to let me in every time, I started noticing some issues. It is now the end of April almost two months past the due date of my Fob and I have been told every bs excuse. Yesterday I got a new one, the girl told me I had to bring in a void cheque for payment but I was told when I signed up that I can do my payments through my credit card. She told me that I am correct, I can pay with my credit card but they need my void cheque in case my credit card bounces. If my credit card is maxed I am pretty sure I probably would have no money in my bank account. I have already payed for my Fob on the day I signed up so where is it?. The week before when I asked for it they told me the machine was broken this week. Well sorry mine was suppose to be made a month and a half ago so why was it not made when it was working? The staff there are not into helping the members, they just tell you what ever they can think of to get rid of you. When I started I was shown around the gym by a staff member and she set up a day to show me the machines and get a little workout routine started. They had a little circuit set up downstairs in their quite area where she showed me how to use all the machines and two weeks later they removed the machines and put in a personal training area. -_- Why didn't she tell me this was going to happen, and why would she show me a circuit that I would never be able to use again? I also think the pricing is outrageous, and I believe I am getting ripped off. I overheard a girl in the change room telling her friend she only pays $30 a month yet I have to pay $60 a month. She looked younger than me so I thought maybe shes a student, but I as well am a student and was told that the student membership would be more than what I am paying thanks to the promotion they were having at the time. I know that each staff member who signs members up can change the pricing to which ever they want. I can go to the gym for $5 dollars a month through my school but I thought that I would go to Golds Gym since its nice and close and has a pool. Needless to say, they are running a business and their customer service skills are below par. I am currently looking for a better option, which I don't think would be hard to find. Good thing I went with the month to month membership!
