Nice large facility. Love that they have a good bar for protein shakes and pool and proper steam rooms, but the hours are absolutely terrible that they're not open past 8pm on weekends, and the machines are needing replacing. Plus membership doesn't include towel service when I was going there. Overpriced.

I use Movati to get myself back in shape. As a 70 year old, I find it is tough to do so. Personal Trainer Derek Mueller has helped me tremendously. Given my physical problems, Derek has shown great persistance in keeping me motivated to achieve my goals. He has identified my weak spots and how to work around them.

Best gym in Brantford, hands down! I don't care how many gyms they open in Brantford, nothing compares. Tons of amenities, friendly staff, women's only facility and fruit appreciation day. COMMON, it doesn't get any better. **UPDATE** - I had a personal training demo with Jesse Spychaj yesterday. OMG, he was incredibly knowledgeable and in only an hour taught me so much. If your looking for a trainer to help you reach your goals, Jesse is your guy.

I have been at this gym since the opening day. For many years hands down it was the best gym in Brantford. Not the case anymore. Poor management, dirty facility, broken equipment, interpersonal skills of the staff that will make your stomach turn. Every time i think the management/staff has outdone themselves they manage to soar to a new low. Can't wait for the New Brantford YMCA to open.

How about 'I don't like it anymore'? I have been a member at this gym for four years. Things are changing here. While the fitness instructors remain excellent and professional, the overall customer service is not what it used to be. My most recent two experiences in the weight rooms here have left me feeling like MY workout doesn't matter compared to those paying trainors by the hour. Its so frustrating, and the complete lack of support from management has left me not wanting to come back. I hate it when I am doing my weights now, because I never know what friction I am going to encounter if I occupy someone else's more valuable space. Thanks, Movati, for making me feel unwelcome.

Worse customer service. Stuff doesn't know how to do their work properly. Misplaced my cancellation document and charged me even after I cancelled my membership. Now they don't refund my money because their staff don't do their part properly. I would never recommend this location to anyone.

Been going to this gym for 2 years now.. does it really matter what gym you go to lol, if your going in to better yourself and get the job done get in there and get the BLEEP out lol. Works for me no problems yet never really had a problem with the staff. My girl freind stop going and she barley had to pay anything, if you sign a damn contract you should expect to fill it out. First class in 7 years! Other than nearly being dead and walking on shaky legs, it feels so good to be back! Sandra was amazing and gave lots of "newbie" options while shouting as much encouragement overtop of my moans and groans from across the room. I've been going to Movati for a few years and I've always had a positive experience. The facility is clean and well maintained, the equipment is in good shape, and there's a huge selection of amenities. If something isn't working it gets fixed within a reasonable amount of time. The staff are always super friendly and polite. It's not the cheapest option, but if you use the gym regularly, it's really quite reasonable.

This is a great facility . They have multiples of many machines and benches, dumbbells etc. I found the facility to be very clean and well maintained. I was impressed with the sheer size of the place. The staff are friendly. I only used the gym for a week while visiting the Brantford area. Connor was very accommodating with setting me up with a short pass to the gym for my stay.

I didn't mind Movati, for a guy who just wants to go in and put his head down to do a workout I didn't have many issues. Didn't really need to wait for machines often during busy times. It definetly is cleaner and has more equipment than most other gyms I have been too. I would consider getting abother membership if I decide to get active again.

I joined before this gym opened, and have no complaints. Staff is always friendly and helpful, it is always being updated and expanded. I have dropped in to many gyms across the area and world, and this place has spoiled me. It is kept very clean, the change room is very big. Could use a couple extra toilets, but some gyms you are lucky to have more than one. The toilets are never out of commission, and because they have a dress code and charge more than other gyms, the members are great too.

Have been going regularly..minus COVID...since September 2019. This is a wonderful place to get fit and improve your health. At 67 I have found that, by working with a personal trainer, I am capable of many things I thought were beyond me. Tha facility is spotless and is constantly clean. Front desk staff are helpful and upbeat. And, can't say enough positive about the personal trainers...knowledgeable...fun, encouraging and skilled! I am very pleased to be a member...a great fitness club!

The worst gym ever. I am in my one year contract. However, I got into a car accident after a few months of joining the gym. My doctor had told me not to continue on to any gym activities or any lifting. So I called the club and I was directed to the manager who is Cory. Over the phone, I was told that they can put my membership on hold and I would still have to pay the monthly payments but it would be a lower price than what I pay. So I brought a doctor’s note to the club and again spoke to Cory. Upon giving a note Cory completely changed his wording and denied of any phone calls with me regarding the reduced monthly payments while on hold. I was soo shook by this behaviour and nothing was done. Being a manager a person is lying .??? What else to expect. They are just there to collect pays. Not someone who would understand your problem but try every thing possible to make it worst and they didnt forget to say “ oh you look okay” “you dont look that injured” I mean seriously .? Thats how you orientate your employees? Treat people with zero respect and try nothing to help them ? And oh pass on negative comments on them .? Beware of these scammers.

Unaccommodating with cancelation policies; Movati Athletic will take money out of your bank account for 30 days (based on where payments fall) even after you provide your cancellation signature. If you haven't used the facilities at all, their response will be: "doesn't matter; we are not a pay-by-use gym". Rather greedy, arrogant, and inflexible overhead staff for a Gym as highly priced as they are. On a better note, the gym/equipment itself is average at best. Would not recommend if seeking membership. Addendum: 'Movati Athletic Owner' responds to these same types of critiques with: "thanks for your feedback, we will address this issue with our management team" dating back years ago. There is an apparent lag in development with Movati management on correcting identified issues.

They act like everything is really easy then send you emails telling you really what to do. I asked to put my account on hold while in school and then find out that when the new year starts I have to go back in to put it on hold AGAIN. Not realizing this I let them take money from my account without notice. When I finally noticed I called right away to ask them to put it back on hold since I am 2 hours away. When talking to the girl on the phone, to clarify I asked if everything was taken care of and she said yes, then they send me an email saying I have to send them signatures and all this stuff to ACTUALLY put my account back on hold. If I knew I would have to do all this extra work I would have just cancelled it back in August which I was already doing but the girl told me I could easily just put it on hold instead. I went in person to talk about it and they pretty much just shrugged me off because I got the email saying I need to send a signature so it’s not their issue... I have now officially cancelled my membership there because I can’t afford for this issue to happen again. The people there don’t care about you they just care about the money. The only thing I liked was the yoga classes and the woman’s side. They are always raising the prices when it’s already expensive to begin with....

I have been a member at this gym for many years and i can honestly say that i am looking forward to trying out the Crunch Fitness gym when it opens. My main issue with the this facility is the lack of maintenance with their outdated dumbbells. The weights are consistently loose and border on being unsafe to use. I have advised staff of this issue on several occasions. I have even spoken directly to the manger about this safety issue, his response being that "the weights get tightened once a week." My concerns were clearly disregarded as this continues to be an ongoing issue. Client safety and satisfaction should be significantly more important to management. I shouldn't have to compromise either standard given the membership rates charged by this gym monthly. June 22...Update on my post......no changes made to ensure membership safety or workout satisfaction.

We enjoyed the pool. And the steam room and hot tub And considered membership. . BUT No senior membership prices. No pool only membership. We also like to pay by the year. But that price was avoided. Staff was uninformed about prices. $45.oo sign up fee. Unheard of. 800.oo a year for 1 person. We pay that for family membership at BestWestern. I think we will go back to best western. They are Much more accomidating. BUT UR STAFF IS VERY GOOD LOOKING.

Constantly cancelling family swim after calling in to confirm it was on and running. After this happen numerous times over the span of 3 months I contacted Movati I told them I wanted to cancel my membership immediately due to horrible customer service and disappointing my three and two year old week after week. Obviously Movati doesn’t like to get dumped, they wanted me to pay for another 30 days. I refused to pay and they said they wouldn’t continually charge me until I pay. Unethical business practices.

I have been a member of Movati since the YMCA closed the Queen St. facility and left everyone hanging. I am one of the lucky ones that has a locked lifetime rate and I understand some of the negativity surrounding membership prices, but as the old adage says you get what you pay for. I admit I tried one of the lower price gym's and put my Movati membership on hold while I did this. I came to realize very quickly the value of Movati as the other gym was atrocious in the cleanliness department. I did this prior to COVID and I can't imagine what it would be like now at those places, from what I have heard the showers are off limits. Movati is extremely clean and the staff are fantastic. Prior to the gyms reopening, I missed all of them as they truly were part of my morning routine. The other patrons there are for the most part the same caliber and friendships are easily formed as a result. Other places do not have this atmosphere and this is a plus indeed!

Staff are good. However, the equipment is terrible. The benches barley fold, weights are old and in bad shape. Machines don't work properly and are very old. For being the most expensive gym in town I expected a lot more. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The management or main Movati management is not listening to customers and personal trainers. Machines which appear fine are broken and are eventually going to hurt someone - the squat rack floors are uneven and eventually will hurt someone. The hours are terrible. Even the client information they have is managed terribly. Check out the news for that. One nice thing about this gym is the staff and young crowd is definitely friendly. The sauna is very nice. This makes this gym stand out from others in Brantford, but things are definitely going wrong!

A member in Brantford for 5 years. I find it a little expensive, relatively. (4 to 5 times as much as Crunch). Some of the staff are great but many strangely avoid eye contact. To a person, they should look you in the eye and say, “good morning” or whatever applies. But the majority do not. I just witnessed a manager high-five a fellow employee and then walk right past me avoiding eye contact. The good behaviours and expectations, which come without cost, must start at the top. Although most pieces of equipment work fine, keeping all of the equipment operating properly/completely seems to be difficult. Occasionally I'll be settled into a shower and then find the soap dispenser is empty. Not a big deal I know. If you aren’t going to compete on price, then you need to up your value game on client experience.

I've been a member at this gym on and off since it was the athletic club (left because I moved out of town). I moved again and the nearest location is 2 hours away. I tried cancelling back in December and I just wanted them to not renew my membership after the contract was up. I thought all was fine. I've still been getting billed so I called to cancel and I can't do it over the phone- fine I get my mom to go in and cancel for me since I'm now 8 hours away from Brantford and then they tell her to get me to email the manager. I do that and they inform me I need to hand write a letter and mail it in in order to cancel! That it ridiculous. My contract is up. There is no reason why they shouldn't be able to terminate my membership. Very disappointed with the customer service and will never be spending my money at that facility again.

Staff are great, facilities are nice. Has everything you need from swimming to racquet ball, weight training to it's own little crossfit style box. Great smoothly bar and plenty of machines. I had an issue with a treadmill, reported it and within minutes there was a maintenance guy taking care of it. Pride of ownership is nice. Just be cautious when signing up as you are trapped for a year...no exceptions.

Cancelled my membership because of covid, i received an email saying i could get my old rate if i signed back up a few months ago. I only use the squash courts and nothing else. I signed back up thinking i would have squash available to me. I now pay more than i did before covid somehow without what i actually use the gym for which is squash, they have told me i am not able to play without paying an extra fee which isnt cheap. Good job guys!

I have been trying to cancel my membership for over 6 weeks now and to no avail. The phone recording for customers is a joke, and head office has zero customer service. I have incurred 2 unwanted charges now, since they’ve reopened I assume. You’d expect more out of a club charging what they charge.

I have been a member for the past 4 years and I would never change gyms. Movati is not only a great gym with great staff, its an experience everytime you walk in the doors. Movati makes people feel like they are apart of a club rather than a gym. Whether you want to have towel service, play squash, go for a swim, join a class or just workout, Movati has it all.

i dealt with a manager named vikki & i felt like shut down everytime i tried to explain the reason i was cancelling my membership. i was told that i could come in a couple days after my membership was up and could cancel it no problem and not have to pay another 2 weeks worth by multiple employees. but because of prior commitments, i had to come in the next morning and i was told that i had to pay another two weeks worth, even though i have my own memebership at my univerity and that was made known to her. the place itself is lovely but i felt like i could have been treated better and i know a couple employees that work there that could also be treated ALOT better.

MOVATI Brantford is a great place to work out. The staff are all friendly and helpful and the club is very clean, especially if one is concerned about Covid spread. There is plenty of room in the gym and pool area and I feel more safe here than many other public places. The counter staff, trainers and cleaning staff all appear to take pride in their work. I would highly recommend MOVATI Club Brantford.
