If I could give 0 stars I would, this gym was amazing and inclusive before the new manager Paula took over! She is absolutely ruining this gym. She killed the vibe there, fired the best employees they had just to prove a point. I don’t recommend going here unless they change management, she is honestly the worst. They also have an employee named Darien who is extremely unprofessional and treats the customers so poorly, really hope crunch reevaluates who they have representing their company because this is sad!

Well.... If i could negative stars i would. I used to love going to this gym, it used to feel like a home away from home. Their new management staff is terrible, I do not get greeted or feel welcomed anymore. I've gotten dirty looks from some of the staff too. You are nothing more than a $ sign.. They also do not answer the phones or call you back regarding anything. I have been trying to get ahold of the head of PT for a while, and no one has called me back. Let alone their toxic work environment. Good luck to anyone planning on working here

The gym offers me what I need but as someone who pays 33$ / month I was thoroughly displeased when one of the staff (who won’t come forward) stole my ring from the front desk drawer. I had left my ring on one of the mats and it had been returned by a kind fellow gym goer at around midnight on a Tuesday, so needless to say the gym was pretty dead. It was put in the drawer at 6am and by the time I got there at 10:30 everyone was dumbfounded. I went back to speak with the same gentleman who was there that night and he kept saying he left it in the drawer, which narrowed it down to the morning staff; but still no one was willing to come forward. To this day I walk in every time and check all the staffs fingers. It’s just shady. To whatever staff stole my ring: next time you want to take something from the lost & found that’s clearly not yours at least wait 2 weeks mate.

Worst GYM ever !!!! If I could give them zero stars I would ! Basically after the first corona lockdown They opened up the gym so I went and asked if my credit card info are valid and good to go and they told me my account was sitting at 150$ but “don’t worry about it” it’s a “system glitch” few weeks later I inquire bout this and they told me the same thing I inquire about this a month or so later 2 or 3 times at different dates and they told me my account is charged $52 because my account has been declining...WELL I said I been inquiring with multiple people from your gym to see if my credit card status is good to go and you have been telling me it’s a system glitch all this time now all of the sudden the system glitch is cleared and I’m charged 50 NSF fees ? I have been trying to get a refund for this amount for months now ! And every time I get a different response from a different wacky employee. Worst gym ever bunch of thieves don’t trust them.

Great environment to workout with my teenager. We both love it. Tanning beds are fantastic and the hydromassage rocks!! I'd highly recommend this gym and do consistently!!

Great for the price. It is busy at prime times so go on off hours if you can. It is a decent size with an adequate amount of exercise equipment and HIIT equipment. The locker rooms are a decent size. I have the base $10/month membership but I know they have tanning and massage chairs with the next membership up.

Where do I start. Yeah. We get it. Covid. But still went into accounts and took monies. Including mine for services not provided. Instead of declaring contracts null and void. You just billed me knowing full well you couldn’t meet your obligations and commitments on your end. When I was able to get a trainer. 1 lousy time, he double booked me. Seriously think about other gyms before choosing this one. The dollar is far more powerful that someone’s health and state of being. So, I spoke with them today, “new management” and guess what. No one called me. To begin, I signed an agreement to have a personal trainer. Had a wicked mountain bike accident, broke my jaw, had reconstructive surgery on my left shoulder. Obvs I need a trainer at this point. I’m 52! Guess what, the young buck double books me with a Hotty. Don’t blame him really. I would too….right up until my trainer fires me then begins to bill me. So I call, say. “Oi, what’s up then?” They’re like. “Don’t call him cause we inadvertently voided his contract and we’re stealing money from him…cause COVID!” Update. Ozzy at the Brantford, Crunch was supposed to email me the particulars to contact the Regional Manager…. Well, Ozzy couldn’t be bothered. He’s only been avoiding me for 3 weeks. (Sept 29/21) Update Matt Fry Regional Manager sent me an email. Asking me to outline everything’s that’s transpired. I sent the well written email off in a timely fashion. As Crunch’s standard MO goes. I’ve heard nothing back since. (Oct 11/21)

Great place to train, but these rules on how you can’t carry your bag with you during your workouts due to the owner being afraid that u will steal weights is just dumb. This is also very inconvenient if u carry any amount of equipment with you while your working out.

For the price it's decent. You are getting what you pay for. I wanted to pay more for the daycare but I would NEVER leave my 1 year old in that room with staff who left a horrible first impression on me. There is no safe space for babies/toddlers. A couple of bouncy chairs isn't enough. The daycare staff didn't seem like they enjoyed children or wanted to engage with them. Just a feeling I got. I also was made to feel badly for not wanting a personal trainer. It wad a bad interaction with a staff member that does not reflect all the staff as I have not spoken with many. However, it made me feel unwelcome which was something I was hoping to avoid as gyms can sometimes have this type of culture. The equipment and changerooms are nice and new and I'm hoping my experiences will get better.

My wife and her friend (both blondes and fit) got the BOGO deal and notified me so i went in with my son and they couldn’t be bothered to give us the time of day other than telling us the price points and rushing me through the payment process. No tour, no explanation of facility. We were told everything you see is what you have access to and we could tour the place ourselves. Could not even take the time to give us a 10 min tour. They expect everyone who joins to be a muscle head and know how to work out. I found out later there was a referal program and a thing called kick start. Of course my wife and her friend were given 30 minutes of the guys time, all reference material, a guided tour. Seems to me that you have to be female, blonde and fit to feel welcomed. After contacting “head office” regarding my experience I was told I would get a free month, that my wifes friend would get a free month for the referal and they woukd get back to me regarding my poor experience. Well my wifes friend still did not get the free month, no-one from head office got back to me. When i called the head office number it is no longer in service and i was told by an employee that head office no longer allows customers to contact them and that there is no longer a head office customer service. I received my kick start, what a joke. I was scheduled with a Joey and when I arrived the only male looked at me and said something to a female and all of a sudden I get the ultra inexperienced 22 yearl old personal trainer doing my kick start and not the experienced one I was scheduled with. My presumption is I wasnt the look and fit for what Joey would consider worth his time.

This place is amazing and powerlifting friendly!! Great Staff & Lots of equipment, machines, cable systems and dumbells. A functional training area with prowlers, tmax systems, you name it! This was the best decision i made signing up at Crunch! Amazing place for a great price compared to a $50/month gym. I would like to see at least 2 more bench stations added and more plate stands to help people keep their plates better organized and the benches moved over a foot away from incline bench as people get in way of bar when benching. More free weight benches would be nice also. The 2 rowers that were added lately are a nice touch.

Lots of barbells, dumbells and machines. Two flat benches, two incline and one decline. One squat rack, four or five Olympic platforms/power cages that can be used for squats, deadlifts and overhead presses as well as Olympic lifts. Lots of cables, lots of places for pull ups and chin ups, four landmine barbell stations, lots of cardio equipment, lots of benches for use in the free weight area, fixed weight barbells in the free weight area, lots of plates and lots of bumper plates as well. Staff are kind and welcoming, price is very affordable. It gets very crowded sometimes but it's open 24 hours on weekdays so you can just come early or late. People are very welcoming in my experience and are willing to help out. Highly recommend this gym for any level of weightlifter

Staff is unprofessional and rude. Billed me the annual fee even though the account is cancelled. Get the same run around that they will get head office to look into it and then never hear back. This is the second billing issue I have had with them this year and both are still unresolved. Go somewhere else, unless you love the unprofessional attitude that this place screams.

Beware, this location is highly unethical, recommend to stay far away, and these issues are not only mine, but happened to many members here: 1) I was charged the maintenance fee twice in a 10 month period and despite COVID. This doesn't make sense since the membership is a 12 month contract and this fee should be charged once every 12 months, so the member has a chance to cancel their membership without paying this fee twice. 2) This gym was requiring members to wear a mask during exercise. Not only is this not recommended by health professionals, but highly discouraged. On top of this, Crunch made their own masks which are not even compliant with regulations, trying to capitalize of a worldwide pandemic by endangering and robbing its members. I will continue trying to dispute the charge but until then I will recommend anyone to stay far away from this gym, this is by far the worst experience I've had working out over a decade in dozens of facilities.

Ive been to, and worked out at many of the Crunch clubs throughout Ontario. In my opinion, this is the best equipped, and best staffed Crunch in Ontario. The managers are sincere in their efforts and genuine, in their character. They know who the "serious" members are. They know who's there to give it, and who's there to socialize. The trainers are knowledgeable, and experienced. The facilities are clean, and well cared for. I feel safe while working out there. The equipment is leading technology, large variation, and it's physical locations is well organized for efficient workouts. Great job guys! regards, Edward Lee

My only complaint is the babysit...there are some great babysitters...Alex and Leah are great but the other babysitters who are there for the morning shift are terrible. They barely say a word to you and just sit in a corner the whole time. I wish they would give more of a effort to find good staff for the kids.

I pay for the 3rs tier membership. You get everything you should expect from a budget gym. The equipment is good. Lots of cardio which is good but when I'm told I get wifi with my membership and it never is working. That bothers me. I pay more for the perks and even though the wifi is supposed to come with memberships, it's a little upsetting that it never ever works Edit: I use to really enjoy coming to this gym, now it's a free for all here. Everyone and their mother slamming and throw weights around and no one telling them to stop. I came here because I thought I would get away from that....guess not. Going to have to check out Worlds Gym once it opens

I love Crunch Fitness Brantford.. all the employees are friendly and positive. I have made a couple friends with other members. I love taking the HIIT Zone classes and the Strong by Zumba. There are tons of cardio machines and equipment and everything is always very clean. The hydromassage chairs are so relaxing!!

Leave your credit card on file for auto pay and they will screw you up everywhere they can. I cancelled my membership on July 30, 2020 after they re-opened from lock down due to Covid - 19 and they still charged me for annual fee of $ 65. While it was being clarified with the email from club that all the memberships will be extended for the time of lock down. If they were closed for 3 months my annual membership should not be due till October 2020, but they say now that completely incorrect. Fee will still be charged on actual date it was due on even though they had to shut down club for 3 months. Now my membership cancelled and still have to pay annual fee. Stay away unless you have option to prepay for 1 full year and not to leave your credit card on file with them.

I am not a member, but my husband is. I think if you are a member paying $10. a month, you're probably getting your money's worth. This is what my husband pays, but still has said that the staff do not follow up on original policies such as putting equipment away, wiping down equipment, etc.. He complains about things not working, how dirty it can get, the staff hanging around the front desk talking to each other, instead of going around talking to members. My reason for the review though, is in response to many of the parents that had issues with the childcare. I used to run my own home daycare for almost 20 yrs, have been working as a nanny for the past 5, and had semi-retired last June. Listening to those reviews broke my heart. So I went in last month to apply for a part time position in the childcare room. After being lied to twice by the manager, Joe, I was told that, with my credentials, the budget wouldn't allow for them to pay $16. per hr. They only pay $14. Two dollars is going to make that much difference to them for 20 hrs a week, although they would be getting quality care and happier members. I feel bad for the children, and the parents that are paying the extra. It actually worked out well for me as I'm now working for a wonderful family, and making much more than I ever would have there, with less aggravation.

After reopening from COVID-19 shutdown, I was charged $92 from my account WITHOUT authorization. No email or notice was given. I have been trying to get my money back since August 2020 and it is now November. Every time I call I go straight to voicemail, everytime I go in, they can’t help me, and the manager was no help. I asked to speak to someone higher at head office, and they said there is nobody I could talk to. I have been told I would get my money back for months now and I still have received to money. Avoid this gym. The company has no respect for its clients.

Mostly satisfied, price is great. Nice and bright. They have good equipment, a little slow in fixing it. One piece of equipment the sitting leg curl has a bolt missing and its been a few weeks and you can't adjust the bar to hold legs in place. Floor mats, not enough of them and as they have no area for permanent floor mats, you have to use the ones hanging and when gym is busy, there is none to be found. A little frustrating. Now, for the music - a little loud sometimes and when a class is going on the treadmills, their music is blasting too, even my earphones can't drown it out. The changerooms, not bad, could use more cleaning, and maybe fix the blocked toilet - been like that a couple of weeks. Otherwise I ll be there until something better comes along.

I joined Crunch as a 'founding member'. The membership deal was well worth it and I get a few perks. I think the gym is a little unorganized and has been since it opened unfinished in September. I do enjoy all the classes and the main area is always clean but the floor in the fitness room is always marked with mud or otherwise and the women's change room is constantly messy or dirty. A little more organization would likely improve those things but overall I'm happy with the experience at Crunch.

Customer service is terrible! The general manager left a terrible first impression when I signed up; miserable, rushed sign up, didn't seem engaged. I signed up for the highest membership in order to be able to bring my children with me. I used the child care service once and will not use it again. The staff didnt acknowledge me or my children when we arrived. They were too busy chatting. I made initial contact, set my kids up with toys and indicated it was their first visit. I left feeling uneasy but figured they were child care staff and it was only an hr. I returned to my baby crying uncontrollably and lying face down on the floor, with no one trying to comfort him. My other child was given an ipad to watch a movie; no one talked to him to engaged him (there was 2 staff and 1 other child aside from mine.) When I returned, I was asked if I was children's mother which is concerning cause anyone could have said yes and walk out with any child. Staff indicated they looked for me as my baby was crying but previously didn't know if I was his mother so not sure how they looked for me. When I contacted manager multiple times via. Telephone and email with concerns, I never received a response. I also asked front desk what qualifications were needed for child care room; customer service and any experience with children is an asset. I will continue to use gym facility when I have someone else watching my children.

You get what you pay for here - $10 a month does not include wifi as there is always an excuse as to why you can't log in and it doesn't always get you a parking spot. I love the influx of people since the new year - new members are awesome, however during peak times you cannot find parking and I am often walking from the International Truck business located across the street. Do the staff have off site parking or do they account for 12 or more taken spots during peak times? Customer service is poor at best - I have emailed about my concerns several times with no response. There is a toilet in the woman's washroom that has had an out of order sign over it for almost a month, is there any intention of having this repaired? There is only one water fountain in the facility that is often lined up, is there a plan to add more? The decals are peeling off the wall, is there a plan to clean up the appearance? Your trainers roam the gym with their coffee and food while training their clients, is this the unprofessional image you are planning to maintain? There are some great trainers at this facility, however the ones that remain on their phones, drink their coffees and socialize with other members during a clients session out shine them. Often there are 3 or more employees holding up the front desk however paper towel dispensers are empty and garbage's are over flowing. It would be wonderful if the employees were racking weights and stripping the bars left by members - if they aren't going to enforce a 'clean up after yourself' policy then they should be spending their down time tidying instead of leaning on counter tops and tables. As I started - you get what you pay for, however coming from out of town and being a former member of a $10 a month competitor gym, I know what a well run facility can offer even if the membership cost is low. ****EDIT**** Thank you for upgrading your wifi so that all members can use the service regardless of the amount of members in the facility; and thank you for finally repairing the toilet in the woman's washroom. Onto the newest concern - weekend employees opening on time. The first occurrence was over the holiday's when you opened and closed several times over the 2 week period - a staff member failed to show up for their morning shift - the holidays are a tough time to staff a business so I was understanding. I called around to various locations, Cambridge was the first to help where London responded with 'not our gym, not our problem'. Since that time I have had to call the Cambridge facility twice to ask to have a staff member called because the gym was not opened and the parking lot was full of members waiting to begin their workout. The last time I had to call was the tipping point for me - the closest staff member available was from out of town so I was asked to remain outside the gym for 30-45 minutes until someone arrived. This is not an acceptable practice - when you get to a place of business during their operating hours you are expecting it to be open, and your day is planned accordingly. With the summer months coming, and staffing on weekends already proving to be a problem perhaps have 2 employees responsible for opening so we have a 50% chance of getting our workout in.

I reached out to the general manager joe regarding a complaint I had with the way the girls in the kids crunch during the morning shift are - we weren’t acknowledged when we got there, had to find somewhere to put my 3 month old because they didn’t seem interested in her in the slightest to hold her or take her from me and get her situated like they do in Cambridge , too busy gossiping on their phones and with each other.. not paying an ounce of attention to any kids under their care, a 2 year old handed a metal tensor band clip with teeth to myself and another mom in there who went in to check on our kids and change their diapers.. talk about a choking hazard! Like the other review I read before about this gym said the general manager is apparently too busy to respond to any complains that are made.. goes to show what kind of gym this is. I won’t trust those two girls who work the morning shift at kids crunch with my 3 month old, they clearly don’t have any experience with kids and they definitely don’t have any type of education/license - we asked. They left my 3 month old in the corner screaming her head off while they were sitting down eating and on their phones.. we had to go back and check on our kids without them knowing because they left us with an uneasy feeling when we in there changing them, since there’s no window to peak in they clearly think they can just sit there for their 4 hour shift and do nothing. If you want to leave your kids with people who actually interact and watch your kids while you work out, drive to crunch galt the girls there are amazing!

Gym is nice and clean. I usualy get there at 530 am and 4 pm. Lots of machines and weights available at both times. Locker rooms are a bit small and you usualy wait while someone is infront of your locker.

For the most part, I'm very happy with my experience with Crunch. However, the kid's room has very little to play with-- I'd love to see some big trucks to play with (though they love kicking the balls around). The shower facilities are always clean, though there needs to be caddies in all the showers for shampoo bottles. And I would love for Crunch to pick up a set of bouncy medicine balls. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I do not recommend Crunch Brantford. It is philthy, TVs dont work. Instructors do open classes in cardio area and yell and play loud music. Staff are indifferent and Head Office staff not helpful

It's a nice gym however, it took months for them to get the tanning in and they were still charging you your full membership price which they should have given a discount considering you were not able to use all of the services underlined in your membership plan. Overall I feel it's unorganized and hopefully they can make some changes to make it more appealing for new members.

The gym is pretty well stocked for the price you pay, but equipment is slow to be fixed. There is only one abductor adductor machine and it’s always got a line up. There also is no AED on site. I think this is a huge issue!

I have been at Crunch Fitness Brantford since opening and I have to say I love it! The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and the front desk staff greet me every time with a smile. The class offerings are varied and convenient to almost any schedule. The employees are always trying to find ways to improve the customer experience. Most recently, Andrew has taken charge of making sure the entire gym is clean and orderly and in the condition you would expect of a brand new facility. I would highly recommend Crunch Fitness Brantford to anyone!

By far the worst experience with a gym. After covid my account was charged multiple times with random amounts. When I called I was told it’s due to a glitch in the system and understanding due to covid etc a request was put in for a refund. I continued to be charged on my account after being told I had a complimentary two free months due to the ongoing issues. After this was again charged multiple times. I reached out through email/phone even asking the manager to speak to someone who is capable of looking into things. I was being charged more than the monthly fee I originally signed up for. After Multiple discussions with the manager and attempts to speak directly to the owner It has taken over 3 months still, no refunds or solution so has resulted to me cancelling. No emails, no return phone calls and then even after cancelling another “glitch” charge. I do not recommend this gym as it lacks communication and doesn’t seem concerned with ripping off its members. I have since changed gyms and have had zero issues. If you want a gym that appreciates its members and handles issues rather than ignore them I suggest looking elsewhere.

Lmao to these people that post a 1 star. Why because the gym is cheap, it doesnt have, what proper medical or the daycare is unfinished. For the price of the gym and for it to offer daycare that is now finished. It's an amazing gym every other gym with daycare you pay a minimum of $100+ a month. Also medical? As long as they have CPR and first aid training which is a requirement to work at the gym. I think you'll be okay. No gym has a paramedic on staff stupid. Gym has everything I need, including daycare. The only thing I would like is a sauna. This isn't a Walmart of gyms. That would be your Fit for less or whatever it goes by now.

The equipment is generally good, there is a lot of it, and it's clean although at times one must go looking for weights and benches. on this part, it's thumbs up. On the downside, the televisions are too restrictive in the channels they show and there is no way to listen with head phones. No help in this from the management. The locker room is too small as are the lockers and their doors only open 90 deg. not 180. They can be a hazard if one is not careful. The benches are also too close to the lockers and the showers are too small. Not too much thought went into planning this part of the facility especially with all the other clubs that came before this one.

I've been going to Crunch Brantford since it opened in the fall of 2018. What I value most is the new and bright facility and the easy access to certified trainers. I first worked with Madison and now work with Carolyn. Both have been extremely motivating and encouraging. More recently Andrew has taken on larger leadership role and I'm impressed with his dedication and attention to detail. The club in Brantford is in good hands with Andrew and their strong team of inspiring trainers.

Great gym. Just two recommendations: Longer hours. After a crazy busy weekend, I would've loved to come workout on a Sunday to ease some stress, but closing at 7 is stupid. And please consider cleaning your equipment by staff on a regular basis - one of the leg presses closest to the entrance is covered in dirt and a lot of hair. Its unappealing and makes me not want to use the machines. I understand its a new gym and the manager is still in the process of figuring things out - but how about less selfies of yourself in the tanning room and more focus on cleanliness of your facility?

Summary: Good value for money, building maintainence not a priority, lifting platforms ????almost hits the mark on quality free weights but falls flat. EDIT: Trying to have a better experience at crunch with your own equipment is not allowed for insurance purposes. Would have loved to been able to sign some sort of waiver, leaving a 1 star review to reflect my dissatisfaction of this policy. For 10-20 dollars a month, you can’t go wrong in brantford. With fit4less being the only competition, it gets blown out of the water. Crunch is larger, brighter, cleaner, and has more weights. Machines seem to be in order, good selection. I don’t use them much so I can’t comment on anything other than cables. Plenty of cables available so you won’t be waiting to use them. The stair climbers work when they want to. There’s always a rotating bunch of 3-4 sechduled for service. There are almost 10 so it isn’t a huge issue. There are lots of dumbbells to use, however organization is a little lacking. The lifting platforms are a huge huge huge bonus. Complimented with some low quality bumper plates, these are the wrong colours (reds are 45lbs/20kg when the standard is 55lbs/25kg) My biggest gripe I the quality of the bars. These are cheap cheap bars and most of them are noticeably bent. There don’t seem to be enough quality clips for all the barbells either. Building maintenance is also lacking. Holes in the drywall are left unrepaired on exterior walls so it’s also drafty. For as little as 10 dollars a month plus tax, it exceeds expectations. I recommend it to my nonserious lifting friends and family. Final note: there’s a distinct weed smell in the early mornings

Been a member since it opened. For a while, the place had some problems with cleanliness, especially in the change rooms. However, over the last month I've noticed that this issue has been taken care of. I've seen Andrew in change room scrubbing everything down, so I suspect the previous cleaning crew has been replaced by him. Have started using the Small Group HIIT classes in the last month with both Natalie and Andrew. I recommend them. Another selling point for me is the four squat/deadlift platforms which is more than most of the other gyms I've seen in town. The place can get full during peak times, but is fine during off peak hours. Overall, I recommend it for the price.

I'm not one to write bad reviews, but this one was needed. The staff here is extremely rude. I heard them talking about me when I walked in in a negative matter and i feel too embarrassed to even come back now. The equipment here is disgusting as well. I haven't seen anyone clean anything once! The paper towel is always out too which is probably another reason why everything is filthy. If i wasn't in a one year i would have just kept my membership at the YMCA. I just wanted to update this as well because I heard none of the staff is first aid certified and there is no defibrillator in the club. Just wondering how you are getting away with this when someone has already had a heart attack there and a MEMBER had to help him because the staff didn’t know what they were doing.
