I was a member for more than a decade. The track, classes, and plus membership are essential parts of this gym. Less stars because a sauna + hot tub should not cost over $100 a month. If you are looking for social, childcare services, and don't mind a hefty price tag this is for you. I found a gym for $10 a month where I was able to focus and get better results; as group classes made me plateau.

YMCA sporting/recreational facility in Brampton is top class facility for local residents. I used it for a couple of days as a guest of my friend who is a permanent member. Guests are advised to carry a photo ID to be eligible for a free entry. It has a heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam, sauna, basketball, squash courts, walking/jogging track, gym, kids care centre etc. It's very well maintained and fresh towels, toiletries, water, tea/coffee are also available complimentary.

Good place for a basketball game. They've got 6 rims. The only thing i dont like is that there are usually programs which use half of the court. Also, the hours to play ball is very limited.

Facility is great, staff not so much. Serious lack of respect for customers who play basketball. The website is a joke. Just go back to the simple layout with the times and programs each day so we can easily see when the gym and pool are open. They tell me I can no longer play ball with my 9 year old son at the same time. “Adults have their time and youths have a separate time.” Kids like playing with the older guys as they learn and mature on the court faster. And we older dudes love watching the youngbloods play and coaching them up a bit. Youre suppose to be here to help build up the community not divide fathers from sons. I mean that just seems like basic common sense. All these unnecessary rules and regulations, plus staffs very poor attitude are enough for me to stay away, period. Way way too expensive to be treated like a pest. And what happened with the indoor play structure? Its been closed over a year. You guys just need to let us in and stay out of the way. There’s no way all of your regulations and interference is good for business. Probably why the place is always half empty. Except for when its full a basketball players. Wake up and play to your strengths already. Don't mind where I put my bag. Go do something productive already.

Great place for the whole family to improve health and fitness. Family pass is great and financial aid is available. Wide variety of scheduled and drop in classes, and child care is available ($2 per child per hour for children 3+). Keep in mind child care schedule changes each season based on staff availability.

I visit here a couple of times a month on the way home from work. It is a great YMCA, always clean, lots of towels, super friendly desk staff and the members are welcoming. If I lived in Brampton, this would be my daily gym.

I was only there for a night for an event called "Scratcharoke" the room we were in was very spacious and accommodated the B-boys dancing as well as room for the turn tablists and DJs.

Small facility, the membership rates have become too expensive especially for larger families. The family rate was beneficial and affordable, now your're paying for each person and a child membership only includes one registered program and a $16 charge for each additional registered program. Its become difficult to afford.

Its dirty area.. they need to clean up the unhygienic kid's jungle gym and the staff is rude if you ask them to do anything otherwise they dont do anything. The life guards are very rude and if you have an 8 year old child forget having a membership! They will suspend your account if you even leave your child with their siblings to go to the washroom

Adult change rooms are great, and worth the extra fee. There aren't enough weight gym equipments for everyone. All the equipments are always occupied. Free ping-pong table at the lobby.

An awesome gymnasium if you have the plus membership. It also has spa, a swimming pool, basketball, ping pong, lawn tennis and a Jacuzzi. Spa and Jacuzzi are only available to the plus members though.

I was a plus member for over a year. Steam Sauna etc are good but gym equipments are few and old and membership is too high for plus area. If you are not paying for plus membership as part of your charitable giving it is not worth it.

Compared to other gyms its a 5 but compared to other ymca's its a 3 only because the building doesnt have the amenities of others. And all the staff are too nice and too helpful.

DO NOT CHOOSE THE YMCA AS YOUR DAYCARE!! There is a way better facility up the street at Church and Kennedy in Brampton that treats the kids amazing and shows the parents respect, plus your kids don’t just play all day, they actually LEARN! And you get a daily report that tells you everything your child ate, how many diapers changes and you even get pictures throughout the day! It’s called Mini-Skool: a child’s place. I have a lot of safety concerns with the YMCA daycare facility. Just because I forgot my key pass the director Kristine would not allow any teachers to open the door for me even though my child has been attending the daycare for 6 months now, and they all know who I am. If this was someone who did not know me then I could understand, but she was doing it to be a rude, mean, person. She purposely advised the staff not to open the door for me because I need to learn not to forget my pass which I heard her say through the door when she saw me in the window... as if I’m a child. I have human error and forget things sometimes. I’m a hardworking parent and very tired, pregnant to top it off!! Also, when I went to the front desk to complain, they were basically implying that because I’m someone of colour I’m acting aggressive; I have been a business woman since I was 20 years old and know how to conduct myself- I have never been violent and I’m sure their video camera will prove my behaviour was not hostile at all. The fact that they even reacted this was in general makes me feel so unsafe bringing my daughter there knowing they would withhold her from me so easily and I had to pull her out due to my concerns. This is very saddening that I, a PARENT got treated this way while trying to pick up my child after a long day of work. Also, my child’s nose is always dirty as they do not clean her, she has been constantly sick since she started at the daycare including a lung infection, and the facility just recently had whooping cough passing around. They are not very accommodating nutrition wise as my daughter is vegan and if she does not like what they offer her then she will just go without eating, every time I pick her up her diaper is full and she has had 3 diaper rashes since she started. I am very disappointed in the care provided from the YMCA. This is the response I got a MONTH later: General Manager: Good afternoon. I am responding to your concern regarding entry to the Brampton Union Child Care Facility. I understand it is distressing when passkeys are forgotten. We do not have a door monitor at this site to allow those families entry upon arrival. There is often a lag period until someone is near the front door. While I understand Kristine’s desk is in the entry facing the door, she is not always at her desk. I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. I strongly encourage you to ensure you have your pass key with you to avoid waiting for the door to be opened. This is a relatively new system (about a year now) so it does require a change in routine so that the pass key is with you when you arrive. Once again I do apologize for the inconvenience. The best solution is to have your pass key with you. Thank you OBVIOUSLY THE YMCA ASSUMES AND DOES NOT INVESTIGATE - they protect employees before parents. She was sitting at her desk with 2 other teachers and told them not to let me in. This is proof they have no respect for the people paying for their services the same people trusting them to watch their children while they go to work.... PATHETIC!!

I used to like the Y, then this location implemented a new membership system that sucks, basically a family membership means your children under the age of about 16 can only use the hallways and have to pay extra for anything else they want to do, they've lost 40 percent of their membership over these changes. Just so stupid.

Sorry to say but I was really to disappointed , my 2.3 month girl went to ymca childcare and they won't even clean kids nose if dey have runny nose , muccus was all around the face when I went to pick her up and not just her with all kids that was the situation , food they offer to kids but if dey won't eat , they won't even ask anything else to them and 2 teacher in d class one said she eats v well and other said she didn't eat anything , they missguide u. Kids cry whole day no activity no fun no educational programme. My baby girl is to smart and active bt she was very upset for that week . I saw the mothers who left there 1 yr old baby or like anyone trust me people they don't care .

We have been trying the YMCA pool for several weeks now and we love how spacious it is for the kids to roam around and practice swimming. The two things I did not like about the YMCA pool is how cold the water is that the kids lips turn blue after an hour and the adults found it too cold to swim too. So there is really no enjoyment in the pool if they cannot turn the heat up since it is all glass windows beside the pool. The cost nearly floored me. $16.00 for a 4 1/2 yr old and an adult. The cost is much much higher to the comparison of the City of Brampton pools. Their cost is $2.00/child and $2.50/ adult. I have done my research and have been told the pools are at 80 degrees in temperature in the city pools. I hope that in the future that when we do come for a swim we get compensated in some way so that we can continue using the facilities.

This YMCA location is a great place for everyone. The majority of the staff make you feel welcome and it seems to be a very inclusive atmosphere. The Adult + men's room is kept clean and promptly refreshed with clean towels. The equipment is good for young and old alike. If there is any negative it is that broken equipment can go weeks on end without repair for even the simplest reasons...like a broken cable. Other than that this is an exceptional and welcoming place for everyone.

Kids enjoys using the whole facility. Having the membership at the Ymca allows my kids to be active and be part of a team. Most of the staff interacts with my kids in a positive manner and offer extra guidance to them. There subsidy is great and should be utilized by low income family's for their kids to get the opportunity to enjoy the same activities as those who can afford it. Overall, they try to present a positive outlook in the community by bringing the community closer together.
