I don't normally shop here, but I earned $75 in store credit through Samsung Pay promotions 3x $25 egift cards. Funny thing is their terminals are probably so outdated they don't even do tap & pay. Lol. I found it a bit difficult to find any deals & anything I wanted to spend my credit on, ended up overpaying for a few items, but it was basically free, so who cares.

More often than not I leave here frustrated...why I continue to give it a chance is questionable... Was approached by staff member asking if we needed help, we said yes, she directed us to another department to have the item we wanted ordered, as they were out of stock in the color we wanted. We waited in line for 15 minutes or so, when it was our turn the guy working told us he was unable to order it for us. I told him that makes no sense, I was able to order it from home, but chose to come in to see if I could get it same day. He told us that the system wouldn't allow him to pick a different color. I think he just didn't know how. This wouldn't be all that bothersome if we hadn't literally been brought over to this cash desk for this very purpose by another employee who said it was absolutely possible. We've had many things ordered for us, clothing, perfume, small appliances...why this wasn't possible this occasion was odd...so we went home and ordered it....from another company.

Pretty disappointing selection of everything. Clothing all seems very boxy and unflattering. Never seem to have new or higher end perfumes in stock. Prices are very high on clothing. Staff cannot figure out how to process returns of items purchased online (even though the website boasts about easy in-store returns). Everything about The Bay just feels very outdated.

I have had mostly positive experiences shopping with The Bay in terms of quality, and when they have a sale, it's real. I am rooting for the company to stay in business. There is something really wrong with their website, it's consistently slow to load pages, and managing my cart is a nightmare. It takes a long time to delete anything. It is 2021, why is the website so archaic? I also agree with someone else who posted, paying $8 per individual online purchase is unreasonable compared to other competitors.

Purchased a Natuzzi sofa in St. Catherine's. The salesperson was wonderful! However, when the sofa was delivered it had a defect in the leather on one of the seats. (Hard lump). I called the Customer Service number which takes you to the Philippines. All that I could hear during my first call was chickens and roosters in the background. I then was asked to send photos of the couch. I did everything I was asked. Then we had a call saying it was approved for return. We then waited for a call for our new delivery of the return. Never got the call. Then I had to call numerous times after that. Several calls were disconnected due to bad phone lines. Always in the Philippines. The latest now is that a Natuzzi rep will come to our house and I have to give them more information. The couch was purchased on August 1st and it is now September 14th. Still not resolved. There is no contact number in Canada to talk to Customer Service. They will not transfer you to a Manager either. Very disappointed and will never by a large purchase from Hudson Bay again.

The bay was clean and organized, the selection wasn't as vast as I would have liked to have seen in the handbag area but that may have been due to the low stock near the holidays. Overall the departments were clean, the associates were very helpful and polite. I've had bad experiences in the past with other Hudson's Bay locations in the city but this location has very pleasant associates. I'll definitely return (covid permitted).

When there to purchase a dress for a wedding and there’s no one there to assist with questions about size, selection and availability. There needs to be more staff in place to provide the experience that their prices reflect. They are expensive and this is not reflected in the customer experience and in the availability of staff. The same thing happened at the Yorkdale location, no staff! Why are department stores not retaining good staff to ensure that their customers have a good experience ?

I have been to 3 different HBC stores in Ontario this month, they ALL told me "just go online" when I couldn't find ties, shoes, shirts, suits ... products which NEED to be tried on to fit. Also worth mentioning they never took care of a fraudulent charge that randomly showed up on my unused HBC Credit card. They then proceeded to ignore the fraud and attack my credit score. For better or for worse I have not been able to receive economic stimulus loans over that past decade.

Following a flyer advertisement, we decided to go to our local store looking for Lê Creuset. The store in Barrie had five pieces, nothing that match and not the item that was advertised. We were told they had a limited number of pieces. False advertising more like it. Then we went to on line store, place the order. Twenty four hours later we get an email, so we can not fill your order! False advertisement again. The over all service was poor, prices to high. This isn’t the first time this has happen, but, it will be the last.

Welnt to get a lipstick from Mac and the sales associate was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I got what I needed in less than 5 minutes! Afterwards, I went to purchase a pair of shoes and the sales associate again was so friendly and helpful. We decided to brave the crowds yesterday Saturday December 29th so we went online to check the hours of The Bay in Barrie Ontario and saw both they and the GEORGIAN MALL were open until 9pm. We arrived shortly after 6pm to find the mall closed as well as The Bay. There were signs posted on the doors inside the mall to The Bay that listed their hours to be until 9pm Saturday December 29th and Sunday December 30th. So we walked around outside to the external entrance doors to The Bay to fund them locked as well. There was a manager letting staff out and when we questioned him about the website and the signs that had stuck to their doors his response was " ya but we're still closed"....I find it hard to believe his response not to mention both The Bays and Georgian Malls social media team could not have updated their hours on Google!! We drove over an hour to only have to turn around and go home....a complete waste of time and lack of empathy from staff of The Bay!

As far as department stores go it is better than any I've in for a while. Huge selection, many many brands. I can't always see how the cost can be so high on everything but it is at all department stores. They have many High end brands. Inside the store that has really improved over the last few years. From its parking lot, one of the only places in the Barrie area with a view overlooking a valley, it feels more adventurous and upmarket, yet as you walk inside, its prices are unreflective of this. I've often walked away with outlet store pricing on in season goods. Maybe it's not noteworthy, but personally if I had to shop at the bay, this location is a cut above

Used my gift card, left the rest of my items. Upon leaving the store tripped on a broken tile. Returned the check out counter to inform them, the response was "we'll have it checked out " The Bay has gone down the toilet.

Visited the Hudson’s Bay Barrie location this evening as I had some issues with ordering something online. The manager Tanyt greeted me when I came into the store and happily helped me with all of my questions and concerns. I like the clothing and jackets at the store and I am may be wrong but the supervisors at the store does not have a pleasant face and though I don't remember the date I have seen international part time student workers being questioned in the store and I strongly felt they are discriminated. Yesterday my wife went to buy a gift for me and she told me the staff don't even smile to my little daughter who is three years old, so I can imagine how they treat customers especially immigrants. The billing counter staff looks as if we are taking stuff without paying and very rude looks. There are few staffs who are good to us but not all.

After a disastrous online experience trying to order a sofa, Nora came to the rescue. A csr at the Bay location in the North end of Barrie. She went above and beyond trying to make things right. Patient and polite while trying to complete my order. Good on HBC for keeping Nora around for 20 years. Employees like her are hard to come by. On a side note, HBC corporate offered some compensation of 10% off the order and apologized for my online experience. So thank for that. There is something to be said about talking to a human in store that you just don't get shopping on line.

I will never order from Hudson's Bay again. Their customer service is awful, half the time they hang up on you or don't understand. I have been trying to get a refund since December 2020. It is now mid-March, 2021. I had one customer service agent tell me they will only refund me the original price but not the tax - WHAT?? And rather than finally giving me a refund, they WITHDREW the refund amount, twice in the same day. And now they are denying they took anything from me. I feel like they make it this difficult in hopes you will just give up and they can keep your money. I would not be surprised if they close just like Sears did, especially after this experience. Such a headache! UPDATE - it has been a week since I wrote this review. I have forwarded proof from my bank to HB confirming they were the ones who took money out of my account. I received an email today indicating they are denying my claim. I am at a loss.

DO NOT USE THEIR GIFT REGISTRY. When you register somewhere you will often receive gift cards as a gift. The problem with gift cards from The Bay is that they don’t allow you to use more than 2 at a time for an online transaction. So if you want to get your transaction to $100 to get free shipping but you have a bunch of $25 and $50 gift cards you will be stuck using your credit card for part of the purchase and have to buy more items to use up your gift cards. You can go into the store and use more than 2 gift cards but this hasn’t always been an option during the pandemic and not all items are available in store.

Would give negative stars if possible, so disappointing. both the non-delivery and the attitude. I ordered over $100. in valentines gift for mother. ordered the 9th of February, for delivery Valentines day. I got notification that part arrived Feb 13, part arrived 14, and none of them have been delivered as of Feb. 15, 2017 . I reached out to Hudson Bay, which is now an American company, so answered in the U.S. they were rude and told me we would have to wait 5 business days before they would help. I called Canada post, they also told me too bad. I paid $25., extra for 2 day delivery. Too bad again. Order from people who care about the customer in the future.. take care if you want reliable and pleasant customer service...

This one is one of my most favorite department stores (online and physical) for its range of products. They are high quality and certainly on the pricier side but well worth the money. I love their one day sales. And the fact that you can return online purchases at the store. I buy everything from Hudson's, right from shoes, clothes, accessories, cookware, duvets, luggage, etc. I have to say I have always been satisfied with their quality. Their website too is one of the best.

I was just at the counter to buy a watch. The sales person said OK let’s go have a look. We started walking over, another customer motion to her that he had changed his mind and now wanted to look at a watch. So she put me on hold to go help that guy. He stood there hemming and hawing over what he wanted to do. I stood around and waited for a bit I told the resource lady that I know the watch I would like to purchase,And she told me to wait. I’m not sure the qualifications needed to do the sales position at the bay, but typically you don’t drop a customer to help another customer. Obviously I’m gonna go buy the $200 watch elsewhere. Thanks for not much the bay. I don’t appreciate it.

HBC has really gone down hill past few years. Very limited selection, low stock in this particular store in Sydney makes it difficult or impossible to do much shopping here. Staff are friendly and helpful, if you can find anyone. I honestly don’t know how HBC manages to keep this store operating. I seldom see many shoppers here, compared to other HBC stores in other cities. It’s a bit sad because I like supporting HBC stores generally.
