Great choice for a good work out

Game Nation

I've been to many locations across the country, and some are really good and some are just terrible. For me, it comes down to atmosphere and employees. If you don't have those, you won't have a good time working out. I find the front of house staff, especially I think her named is Danielle? She's super nice and absolutely hilarious. Makes you feel welcomed, and wants to help in any way possible. Extremely awesome girl, why I try and go back, because I feel welcomed when I come in.

Expensive monthly fee.

When Covid 19 numbers in Ontario started rising, GoodLife sent a letter to customers asking them to write our government asking to keep gyms open in red zones. For a company that is supposed to be focused on health and fitness I think this, was not a smart request, is just greedy and putting people at risk, cancelled my membership which I had for a couple of years.

Nice. Too bad there is no towel service

I was up here for the weekend from Toronto and I was skeptical about trying out another gym other then my own. BUT after 3 days of not working out I finally gave in. I was greeted by this outgoing EXTREMELY happy woman I believe her name was Danielle. She was so helpful and I felt that I was right at home! Thank you

DJ Money

Very great atmosphere here. Love how they have structured the layout of the equipment.

One name, Stacey. Let me just get one thing straight, Stacey does NOT have it all going on. I’ve been going to this gym for two years now, and have never been so dissapointed by a staff member. She is the most unwelcoming, does not smile, does not say hello, does not say goodbye, NOTHING. I had the option to renew my membership, but I will NOT be renewing due to such a terrible client experience I have had with this individual. Furthermore, today I went in, and she told me my membership was expired, which I obviously didn’t know. So as she stared at me like a deer in headlights, I asked “so can I workout today or do I have to leave?” Her response was “I guess you can stay today but you’re going to have to do something”. What kind of service is that? Plain and simple, Goodlife is not the gym to go to if you’re looking for a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It’s insane how one person can ruin an entire two year experience. Do not recommend this gym.

I'd like to give the gym more stars, for the actual use of the gym. It's a nice set up, it's clean and machines are in good working order. However, the team running both this store and home office leave much to be desired. To start, a lot of the counter staff are NOT helpful or attentive. A lot of the ladies there are more interested in their phones, what each other did the previous night or flirting with other staff or customers. I paid for a very expensive personal training and sometimes my trainer had to stop in the middle of a session to go help someone at the counter, since their counter staff was no where to be found. That's issue one. Issue two is on behalf of home office. Not once, but TWICE they have taken unauthorized amounts of money from my account. And we're not talking just membership fees for $30 or $40. We're talking $150. The first time I was able to figure things out with them. They REFUSED to refund the money, and instead traded me the rest of my membership at no charge. Worked out to the same amount of money. I reluctantly agreed but insisted my account be closed after. I called to confirm the week of cancellation and was told all was good and closed. Here we are THREE months later, after my account has been cancelled and to my surprise I wake to find ANOTHER $150 taken from my account! Unbelievable! This time I am really mad. Not only was I told since it's Saturday there's nothing anyone can do about it, but that is also my car payment money I had in there for Monday. So I have to wait to get it back (hopefully they don't refuse this time I won't be so agreeable the second time around) and now my car payment money is gone and no one can fix it in time. I WILL NEVER SIGN UP TO GOODLIFE FITNESS AGAIN! They pressure you to sign from the start, don't want to pay any attention to their members, and steal money from you. Terrible staff, which is a shame because the gym itself is a nice gym.

This location needs wifi and towel service

I am new to this gym, I really enjoy the classes. Great instructors and they are designed to challenge people of all abilities. I am not yet interested in the equipment, but they seem clean and they're are a lot of them.

Keely Vaudrie

Always friendly! Always welcoming and they really do care about your fitness goals. Well maintained facility and virtual classes!

Jake Ciano

Three stars due to no towel service or free wifi for the price i pay I expect at least that. Most of the staff is amazing. Shakira's reminders makes me a better man. ????

Very nice gym, the equipment is very modern. Friendly staff too, nice experience!

Goodlife is my daily go to. Convenient because of the multiple locations and the members are often much more serious then at other gyms. Makes for a good lifting environment.

After 3 calls to head office with very poor service and no luck resolving my concern with billing and Mandates. I called my home gym and spoke with both Andy who then transferred me to his manager Alanna. I am a 21 year customer who was cancelling due to the poor service and circumstances. I have to give both Andy and Alanna a 5 star rating who were extremely professional, kind and patient as I was extremely frustrated. Alanna and Andy saved me from cancelling which is a good manager in my opinion. Thanks to you both for letting me vent and kindly empathizing while saving me as a client. I appreciate honest and kind service. you both deserve recognition - thanks again.

Alan Ebery Shone

My gym for 7 years. By far the best in Barrie

Laura Busari

Bad customer service, I called them 5 times today, they returned my call 1 hour later and transferred me to someone who hung up on me. I called again and they were experiencing too many calls to even take my phone number down and call me back.

Jen G

The classes and instructors here are next level! I travel 40 mins just to attend some of my favourite classes at this location! Christa is so charismatic and her ability to lead and inspire her class is the best I've ever encountered! However, every class and instructor I've had so far has been great! The child minding staff are also amazing .

Big T (TyPod Productions)

Best gym in Barrie by far! Lots of equipment and the people are friendly.

Katherine Lyubchenko

Fantastic staff, awesome comfortable atmosphere. Great machines, love the sauna, fitness classes (especially yoga) and free wifi!

Emily Mulvihill

Large facility with all the amenities. Customer service is friendly and the gym seems well taken care of. Not in love with the layout of the women’s change room and workout area. I find it very confusing and hard to navigate. Love the group fitness room - it’s big and well lit. Would love to see more BodyFlow on the schedule. Also, the parking lot is reeeeally poorly laid out, crowded and you have to walk a long distance to get to the entrance. (The walk is not so bad in the summer but in the winter it sucks.)

Rasha Nasri

Love the gym and the staff! Everyone working there is extremely professional and friendly. The gym is well-equipped and the workout environment is great.

Kal

Friendly staff, large clean gym.

Michelle Kim

Great amenities, clean, and good space. Unfortunately I had an unpleasant experience with an employee named Aaron at the front. Being new to this location and first week into a Goodlife membership, I asked if its possible for a quick tour. I was told that they only do tours for new members and it is a (and I quote) weird thing to ask. He then proceed to say everyone is also busy but he can show me around. I would also like to mention that he was playing YuGioh card games on the work computer screen which I could clearly see while he was “busy”. At this point I declined the offer and said I would show myself around. I understand it isnt a problem but I found his choice of words and attitude unpleasant. I went back to the front after changing and asked someone for Aarons name. Dorothy was able to ask me if I had any concerns and I let her know of my latest experience. She then took the time to come find me and show me around the gym. She was very friendly and I appreciate her kindness. I would love to give Dorothy a 5 star review. Update: I was approached by Dorothy later on and was told to stop by the front as Aaron would like to apologize. He apologized and said that it is his fault, he was just caught off guard at my request but he is sorry. I thanked him for his apology but did mention that the gym can be an intimidating environment for some people so it would be nice to not feel judged.

This is my favorite gym. The trainers are knowledgeable and professional without being stuffy. They are willing to help you out even if they are not your personal trainer. There are a large number of cleaning spots so keeping the equipment clean after use is easy. The whole gym is clean and neat and in great condition. I highly recommend joining this gym.

Jessie Irv

I love this location because they have a women's only section upstairs! The staff is great too!

Drekar

This is my Gym. So maybe I'm a bit biased. It's clean, it's got every machine/free weight you would need. It gets busy during your normal times, after work, etc. The sauna is awesome. I would like if they had towels, so I don't have to bring one. But that's because I'm lazy and self centered. So, bring a towel....

Tyler Courville

Great facility. All the equipment you'll ever need!

Robby Zombie1973

Only problem was that the sauna is too big and takes too long to heat up! Person below is completely right why is there no goodlife's up north... and closest one in between is in North Bay! Wasaga beach is also in between but too far west!

Darren Desrosiers

I've been working out at this gym for several years now and I really like the progression that it has under gone. The equipment is replaced over a reasonable life cycle and they clearly have put in some.new training options. I really like the sleds! Thanks folks for doing your best to keep everything going!

I've been a member of the Barrie location for a few years. Started out just working independently in the ladies gym. That got boring fast. My daughter talked me into doing classes & I never looked back. Combat & Cx are my favorites. I've done a variety of classes and found all of the instructors to be very motivating and passionate about teaching fitness. Not only do they all seem to enjoy their work but they also make sure they give direction on form to reduce the risk of injury. Sorry ladies I can't pick just one of you, you're all amazing Petra, Christine, Christa, Ann, Angela, Kelley and Anza. Love you all! ❤

Angela Greavette

I have been going to this gym for many years. Fantastic instructors and classes!

Jim Morrison

Clean, great machines, helpful staff, all the machines/weights for anyone’s style of workout

Andrew Klotz

Love this gym. Lots of floorspace, machines, free weights etc. Well equipped. I do crossfit and it accommodates me well.

Danielle was great best front person greeter ever. Always greeted me with a smile . Great experience! I love good life it is the greatest place in the world this woman deserves a raise. She is a happy and great person.

Morgan Nosworthy

It's my personal gym, the equipment is pretty well maintained and there is a wide selection. All in all a great gym.

Sah Hill

The staff are friendly -- so not going to hold anything against them. It's Goodlife's business practices which deserve a negative rating. I was a loyal member with this company for 7 years out in Mississauga. Had to move to Barrie for work reasons, so I figured I'd simply switch my membership over to this location. Shouldn't be a big deal, right? Wrong! They wanted to charge me a near $200 enrollment fee (this was non-negotiable) and wouldn't honor my original monthly price. My ONLY option was to get a membership that cost $15/month MORE than what I was already paying. I guess that's what I get for being a loyal customer for so many years. Yeah, BYE!

Martin Magyar

Perfect for me , best hot sauna.

Mudassar Aziz

I look forward to going to the gym every day because of the amazing staff at the Barrie GoodLife. Recently started working with one of their trainers Cam, I leave every workout with a nasty pump. The front desk staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Alanna is there every time I go in and is always checking in with me to ask about my workouts. I’ve been to every gym in the Barrie area and GoodLife is by far my favourite. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking around, you won’t be disappointed!

Jason Maxwell

Best gym in Barrie, great resources only topped by the amazing staff like Shakira who always try to make your experience better!!

Barb Stuhlemmer

I really enjoy being a member at this Gym. They have: - lots of equipment, I never have to wait (or sign-up) to get on a treadmill, etc. - franchised classes with amazing music, highly trained and motivating instructors - lots of class times - an all women's gym where I do all my stretches or use the weights - convenient hours. I like to get my workout over early and they're open - extras - I treat myself to a sauna, shower and a massage on one of the massage chairs - tanning beds so I can avoid the winter blahs. I love how happy it makes me feel - even at the busiest times, when you have to park two lots away, there is still lots of room in the gym - amazing, friendly people that work everywhere (front desk, maintenance, sales, trainers, etc.) And the pricing is right. They are very competitive.

Nick Smith

Friendly staff lots of equipment

Pete F.

One of the worst gl in the province. 1. No towel service 2. No wifi 3. Sauna is constantly out of order. Ive been going to GL gyms for years now. This gym needs a serious gut check. I want to be clear here. It isnt the staff. They are great. It's the lack of attention given to this location by corporate. Since this review was written nothing has changed.

Saratherealist

Love the massage chairs they provide and how there’s a separate exercise room for males and females if you just want to be surrounded by people of the same sex. Plus those rooms are usually less occupied than the general fitness room

Dave C

Too many juicers at this place. Patrons are F%@ING crazy. I saw one baboon throw a dumbbell clear across the free weight area as someone had the audacity to use the power rack when he wasn't there. Staff did nothing about - not sure if it was out of fear or complacency. The apes are very territorial here and they do their best to intimidate. Change rooms are not the cleanest. The facility is a bit small. For the price you can get a much better fitness club elsewhere.

Miranda Ardizzi

Great experience at GoodLife, all the staff are so friendly.. Sarah was so nice at front desk and welcomed me in today when I came to do a class thanks !

Coles G

Love working out here.

Trevor Daly

Big gym with lots of machines

Kyle Harvey

Been coming for years and this gym still has no wifi or any club enhancements for that matter. Glad to see my $70/mo is being well used.

Jason Lessard

Left LA Fitness after 5 years and got a membership here. Only compliant that I have is the lack of wifi. I tend to stream music while I’m at the gym and find it amazing that wifi is an issue here. There is lots of equipment and times that I have been it’s not so busy that I can’t use what I would like because someone else is using the machine.

Kruno Marunic

Beck Brocklebank

Super unhelpful. First off they didn't even answer the phone professionally or politely, so that was great. I'm trying to cancel my membership (because my situation has changed and it's no longer feasible to spend that much money on a gym); I asked them the buyout fee to get out of personal training. They told me I had to call the gym my trainer works at (which is not Barrie because I just moved). When I called *that* gym I find out the Barrie location can so do it! (The Orangeville location cannot because they don't have a fitness manager). I chose to call head office to cancel the membership because they're the top and can't send me on a wild goose chase. Based on that phone conversation with the Barrie location I would certainly never choose that gym.

debra metcalf

Great place! So clean and safe to exercise at this gym but at the same time it is an enjoyable experience that makes you feel great and healthier. I really enjoy the yoga classes with Laura and the Fitness Manager, Leigh is so friendly, professional and hard working. I recommend this gym to everyone ????

S C

Just joined this gym and so far am loving it. Staff very helpful.

One of my favourite good life's. I live 100kms away and this gym is a treat when I am around the Barrie area. Lots of squat racks, weights weights weights, green turf for all of the spirited exercises you'd ever want to do. But mainly the eye candy... motivational and inspirational.

Lisa Kayser

Friendly ...kids love the Zumba class!

I've been a member with Goodlife for well over 15 years. Each time I leave I end up coming back. Goodlife has become "home gym" to me. I know they say it's good to push outside your comfort zones, which is exactly what I tried to do this past summer by choosing a gym that was closer to work to avoid that cottage country traffic during the summer. I've tried gyms all over the North end of Barrie, but they dont have that motivation that Goodlife gives you. Theres something about the way I kill my workouts at Goodlife rhat no other gym compares to. Some would say that might be great marketing but I think it is truly the staff. I didnt have my membership deactivated more than a month before deciding to switch back, and during that time I was absent I had the lowest attendance at the gym all year, partially due to summer but mostly due to the lack of motivation to get to my new gym at the time. That's where comfort played a big role, to make sure I showed up. Every morning I go in I'm always greeted by Vanessa who is just always so pumped for me to have a great work out that it makes me want to have a good work out. The positivity and "get it" attitude is really amazing. I cant not highly recommend this gym enough. Goodlife my be mainstream to some, but whatever they're doing and the people they hire clearly the best choice in my opinion.

Its a decent sized gym with a good amount of dumbbells and machines but only three bench presses. My college gym has 4. Not enough squat racks because power lifters hold them up for hours. Everything is clean and the staff is helpful on most things. Classes are included with your membership which makes paying the start up fee and $40 monthly fee worth it. Side note they charge less to new members than to people who have been there for years. I was paying $45 a month and they were signing up new people for $30/month+start up fees. The start up fees are $150 meant to snag the New Years Resolutioners who are usually gone in two months. They rake in money but only have two good foam rollers and not enough clips for the machines. I've asked them many times to get more. The manager is clearly trying to be a cheap ass. Paper towels in bathrooms are empty half the time. Shower faucets are installed backwards in some stalls. Turn on hot and you get cold. lol All the money in the world but they wont fix simple things. Went to put my membership on hold was told I needed to give 10 days notice. So I get billed for one more month. Its got good equipment but the way its operated is sad. If I was manager I would not operate like this.

Tammy Bowman

Very great atmosphere here. Love how they have structured the layout of the equipment. Best selection of machines and weights in town. Friendly and helpful staff.

Cory Wickham

Awesome place with fantastic staff.

No wi fi or towel service? Give me a break who the hell doesn't have wifi in 2019? Great gym otherwise but needs wifi

Sadly they gave what we thought & what they portrayed as a charitable donation to Downs Syndrome fund raising for silent auction last Friday. I bid $100. and upon going to Good Life was never given any option except "what's your transit number for your bank account", pay 29.99 upfront, and you have to join for a year then you get your 3 months free (good news though I didn't have to have the 20.plus tax/ deducted until Oct and ongoing) and refused to let me read the contract without interruption except when I asked what if I wanted to cancel. Then was told that's on the back. I will consider the 100. as a great donation to a good cause and also am glad I did not fall for the pressure tactics of this Good Life. That's just a shame. I don't mind paying at all its being treated this way and the deception to charity that is just sad. I got a call about 5 minutes after I left just "clarifying" the terms of their cover up. Do not market this way, just be good people.

mike gunn

Open 25 hours with lots of equipment!

Jesse Auspitz

Too busy. Not enough squat racks

Adam Vetter

Great staff, tons of equipment, clean environment

Mizo

Out of all the good life branches I go to across Canada this is by far the worst. Staff are amazing however this specific branch doesn't live close to the minimum expectations you should get from Goodlife VIP membership, if you have one, it's useless here. No towel service? Been like that since opening and since questioned 2 months ago now, the staff keeps saying they are working on it. No wifi? Every other good life has one. Only facility I have been to that doesn't offer these two services. Machines are in good condition but that's a basic for any gym. Thankfully my project in Barrie is done end of year but if this was the only branch that I go to, I would definitely go with another gym provider.

Alex Bonwick

The most amazingly complete fitness center I have ever trained at. Would recommend for sure.

Douglas Marshall

Great gym loving the 24hrs time and the environment is great. Well recommended

Terri Haley

Has a real bad odor when you enter!

Pappaoned

I’ve been going to this gym for years. Very little has changed but their prices keep going up and up. Next to no improvements have been made and it’s becoming obvious that the consumers voice means nothing. As I read the other reviews I see several complaints about the sauna not working, no towel service, no wifi and broken machines. All true. You can read my other reviews. I’m loyal to a fault. GoodLife is far too stringent on their membership packages offering no loyalty programs or incentives for families. Competition is getting better and today’s landscape changes rapidly. Ask Blockbuster what happens when they don’t adapt to their customers. There are some positives like the people that work there that are very pleasant like Danielle and the group classes that keep me coming back.

Tiana Donato

I used to go to this gym for years specifically for the 24 hours & girls section. This gym is very outdated and not much had changed in the 5-6 years I had been going. Machines would have ruined seats for months and the carpet in the girls section would always reek of sweat. No WIFI or towel service... Go to any other gym in Barrie and there is WIFI. In the past few months I had decided to switch gyms to LA and could not be happier. This gym is dirty and not cut for the prices. Currently getting a way better price where I am for the quality of service & overall gym / atmosphere.

Amazing staff, love this gym!!!

Great place!

Hema Lozano

Love the women's section, plus the co-ed section is pretty big with a good layout.

Michael Detzler Bradley

I’ve been working out here for 6 years and I have zero complaints. The gym is always kept clean and the atmosphere is unrivalled by any other gym in the region. My only suggestion is to replace the dry sauna with a steam room.

Stephanie Buryj-Williams

I have just started back at good life after being away for 2 years. There is always a friendly and smiling face to great us. “Shakira”. She is always ready to make your day.

Heath Brown

Brought my son in for a membership. Was great dealing with Ben to start us off. We caught thw attention of Jordan who took time out of his schedule to meet with us and givw us his knowledge. He is a straightforward guy who genuinly cares about those he has interacrions with. I highly recommend him amd his training staff. Thank you Jordan for mweting with us and helping us to come up with a plan that works financially and physically. Goodlife is lucky to have you! Big shoutout to Kyle. Night staff dude on a tuesday night. I discovered i was missing the rubber peice off my earbuds and he took pity on me and gave me a set. Above and beyond guest service and made my day. Thanks.

Nolan Howard

Jeez, alright, well a bit of back story, I've been to Anytime Fitness, and LA Fitness before settling at Goodlife. Now you see a bunch of reviews stating that the staff sucks, and the management is bad etc etc. I've never encountered any of it. In fact, I much like the staff over LA Fitness. The first day I went I met Jordan, and with no papers or anything, he just let me start a trial. No problem. And I have since become acquainted with a couple other members. Honestly, the "attentiveness" complaints probably stem from the fact that there are an unnecessary amount of staff working in the first place, which leads to a whooooole lot of boredom. Just remember, these are people, not robots, they respond to unkindness with unkindness. On the matter of members, they are great. Even the rambunctious powerlifters, who feel that dropping 400lbs at full force is necessary, are very nice individuals. I've been approached, and spoken to by more people at Goodlife in 3 months, than Anytime and LA combined. On equipment, great. Lot's of dumbells, with extras of the commonly used ones (10lbs-50lbs). The machines are quite varied, with a multitude of towers, and racks. Over great quality, comparable to LA(They actually use a lot of the same brand equipment). Biggest grief though, like, such hatred for this. Nobody in the evening understands the concept of "Replace your weights". Like, nobody. People will actually leave plates, on the stretching mat. OR, or, they'll remove the plates from the bar, and place them on the @#$%ing floor, right beside the post. Are they honestly in such a hurry that they cant put the plate back on the post, the extra 1 sec. And even if they DO put it back on the post, they'll stick a 45lb, 25lb, two 35lbs, and six 5lbs on the same post. The insanity. Thankfully that's the only bad thing I have to say about Goodlife Fitness, Barrie. It's an overall great gym, with great people, and you should definitely give it a shot :)

The facity was okay but i felt lime the employees were staring you down when standing next ro the promotio al bag. Climate co trol was way off. Sooo hot!

Trying to get prices out of here is not fun. I was dealing with Vanesa yesterday. Dec 23. Trying to buy an xmas membership for my girlfriend. She had head office on line and she quoted $948 for the yr. I agreed, and by the time I got there it had grown $100.00. She did not bother to let me know. The drive took an hour in lousy traffic. I left very upset for her misquote and not even the courtesy of a call. Be careful of this place for misqotes.and gave I agreed

Johnathan Agnew

Thinking of cancelling membership I've been to many goodlifes over the years and Barrie has to be the worst. Bathrooms would fail expections if public health came in, for months the men's urinals have not been working properly causing them to over flow. Last week The urinals were out of commission with a sign saying worker on duty. This was at 9pm I'm sure no plumber was on site with urine all over the floor. The next day I go in garage bags over the unrinals still water and pee all over the floor. It would be cleaner to roll around in the snow after my workout. Shower curtains are all ripped or missing hangers, ceiling tiles are all Mouldy. Sauna floor is black around garbage can which has never had a bag in it. Hand sanitizer stations around the gym never seem to have any hand sanitizer in them. Don't even talk to me about the cardio machines not working.

Lovepreet Singh

Healthy Environment and friendly staff as well as updated machines

Steve Fillery

Big gym. Lots of machines and stations to workout at.

Jason Barrie

Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. A great selection of machines, though the parking at this location is horrible though. They really need more parking...

Of all the locations I’ve been to across Canada this is by far my most favourite for one main reason. CUSTOMER SERVICE! Always greeted at the door and with a smile! Two ladies in particular (redheadr and blond -shaved on the side) are always a pleasure to see when I walk In. They pay attention to who they are talking to and show that they are listening. They have great suggestions, and all in all are the two reasons why this is now my home location.. as a matter of fact, I’d recommend anyone who’s looking for a gym to check this one out.

Great staff! Personal shout out to Alanna Katherine Aaron and my trainer Kyle this is the best GoodLife across Ontario … I have been to them all!! This team and place rocks!!

Andrew Coldrey

Largest free weights section in Barrie 40,000 sq

Linda Clunies

Love my trainer Dylan! He is very knowledgeable and he creates a great workout every session tailored to meet my goals! His sense of humour & great conversation makes the hour go by almost painlessly! Gym has friendly staff and great motivational classes as well!

Kim K

The goodlife in Barrie is amazing! The group fitness instructors are some of the best I have ever seen! The clubs attention to cleanliness and safety through this whole pandemic has been a welcome sight and they still manage to keep smiles on their faces! Having been a member for quite some time it is clear that the new management and staff have done an incredible job to turn this into a welcoming, clean and inclusive facility! Their diverse staff brings a positive change to the typical “goodlife image”. This location is breaking down barriers and I wish there were more of the same :)

Sarah is always there with a smile to greet me at the front desk. Very friendly and helpful staff. Really enjoy coming here.

I`v been a member here for a while now and I must say this gym is awesome! The best thing about this gym set up, is I rarely have to wait to use equipment! I can work out hard and fast here.

Clean gym with positive people

I wish there was a Goodlife in the north end though! It would be more convenient!!

Kim Griffin

Great gym, helpful staff. I like the fact there's a women's only space to work out upstairs.

Not Your Biz

Visited the gym while on a business trip. Decent amount of equipment but they see lacking in amenities. No towel service. No hair dryer's in the womans change room. Cramped womens change room with not a lot of room to move. Definitely have been to nicer locations. For a fairly new location it lacks in a bunch of key areas.

Clean and well equipped gym. Just if your membership includes towel service you will still have to bring your own towel, this location simply doesnt have towels.

Absolutely love this location! The staff are so welcoming and always willing to help and always smiling. I have an ankle Injury that is recovered but needed plates - I've wanted to get back into classes (body pump in particular) and was nervous to give it a go. One of the instructors Matt (whom I just met) was so friendly and informative - literally stopped while he was just finished his workout to explain that the instructors can help with modifications etc. during a class and welcomes me into any of his classes. If anyone is looking for a gym where there is no judgment and the staff will talk to you and genuine care this is the gym for you! To Matt: that 5 min convo and friendly ness that perhaps, to you, seemed like a quick natural chat that you’ve had before was, to me, exactly just what I needed to get my confidence back up! THANK YOU! Also, it would be a miss if I didn’t mention 3 team members who actually separate this location from the rest: Kristen, Vanessa and Dylan. Literally no matter what they are doing they say hello, answer q’s and smile all the tine!

$25 for a DAY PASS... if you look at how long people generally spend at the gym, it averages to 1.5 hours... thats $3.60 a minute at that gym. I just went there and was totally shocked at this price since it used to be around $11, but what made it even more insane was when their front desk woman told me I could sign up for a membership for the same price and just "cancel it tomorrow...", even though I wouldnt get any money back. LOL. All in all, not the best sales strategy.

No towel service, sauna is broken, no wifi. So in general it's a typical, crappy Good Life. Staff are nice though which is not typical of most Good Life's.

Michael Duong

Could of got that last star on the board except for that employee with the glasses loves messing my workout up... Just if he stops harrass' me I'm happy... Didn't know I was the only person apparently slamming the weight.... lol

My experience at this gym was made a lot better due to Danielle. She was amazing to talk to and get information from, other staff members there were not friendly and I didn’t enjoy having conversation with them. Danielle was excellent for engaging in conversation and always pleasant. Overall very impressed with her

I like their 24 hour policy.

I’ve been a long-standing member of this location and I can’t say enough about the staff at the front desk...particularly Danielle!!! She’s always so friendly and extremely attentive - always acknowledging me with a smile and her bubbly personality! I always look forward to my workouts and have met such wonderful people here over the years...this place is my “home away from home”. ????

Clean. Best selection of machines and weights in town. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great gym loving the 24hrs time and the environment is great

James Rogers

Very well organized and clean.

Best fitness club in Barrie. They have plenty of equipment that you're never left waiting for someone to finish as there's plenty of other things you can be doing and they have a great womens only section. Love the layout, it's clean and staff are always welcoming. Great visitor and one time use rates so you can always bring your friends.

Great gym. Cozy, staff is helpful and change rooms are clean and tidy

Went there this morning for the first time this morning and didn’t have a great experience. The facility was great; spacious, equipment working well and other members were pleasant. I wish the same could be said for the staff. Nobody at the front desk and after you scan the first time you get yelled at from across the gym from Sarah to not do it again. Although I felt bad about interrupting her conversation for her to do her job a little help would have been useful. Not a very welcoming experience for people new to the location.

Could be a lot better, staff sucks

The place is really good for people and I worked out there for long time, but many times in men's washrooms some people leave toilet not flushed behind which I find to be very disgusting. Overall place good but good luck after Covid 19 if people will ever return...

Raja Johnpulle

Amazing layout, new machines and clean locker room. Worth checking it out!

Gym is dirty and gross. Carpets need to be redone. Everything is old. Tons of treadmills buttons dont work or buttons are worn off. Needs an overhaul BIGTIME! Parking lot is very small and crowded. wouldnt have purchased a membership if this was the the gym I went to look at! Going to be going to bradford from now on!!

There's lots of machines and different free weights to use for self improvement and a sauna and massage chairs for total relaxation time. I also use the taning beds periodically to get a nice brown finish on my freshly pumped up muscles. There is nothing bad about any of the services here. I personally love to spend a lot of my free time here

George Yuan

Great selection of exercise equipment with very knowledgeable staff. Squat racks are in high demand during after work hours in the evening.

Like the equipment selection and layout. It just gets pretty messy since folks don't follow basic decency of putting back things after they use it and only one of your night staff ever clean up the weight areas....the others don't.

Alex L

One of the worst clubs I’ve been to...no towel service or wifi! Old machines. Very lame

After being a Goodlife member for over a year and not seeing much in the way of improvements at this location and, in some cases, things getting worse, it's time to leave my honest opinion of this place. First the pros: -Fairly big gym. It has most of the equipment you could need and they do update and get new equipment. They got 3 weightlifting platforms this past year to replace racks without platforms and a machine for performing hip thrusts -Open 24 hours -Very friendly and welcoming staff Now the cons: -The sauna (only speaking for the male's) is rundown and old -The shower area ALWAYS smells bad. I don't know what it is but it should not be smelling like that -I wasn't able to put a hold on my corporate rate membership when I left the country for a few months (not a knock on this specific location as I'm assuming that is policy at all Goodlifes) -No wifi -No towel service -Lockers are on the small side -The ads they play on the tvs are annoying. I've not seen this at other Goodlifes. Stick to playing music. -Chalk use is not permitted. I get that they don't want someone being irresponsible with it and getting chalk everywhere, but to ban it outright is ridiculous. There should be a designated area for chalk use or allow people to clean up after themselves. It's not any different from wiping down equipment after they use it or putting weights back where they belong yet I don't see them policing that -Speaking of policing, there are a couple other policies that really need to be re-examined that I will talk about: No water use on the sauna rocks is absurd. The "threat" that is posted on the door to the sauna is a scare tactic and very patronizing. Saunas are meant to have water put on the rocks. Yes, even electric saunas are built to support this normal practice. The "family parking" spots in front of the gym don't seem to have much rhyme or reason to them. I've not seen this at other Goodlifes. There are so many of these spots but there doesn't seem to be much justification for them. I have not seen many families or little kids coming to the gym and I don't think reserving all these spots during these seemingly arbitrary hours makes sense. Upon entering the gym recently, I had been asked to move my car after parking in one of these spots 30 mins prior to the start of the "family parking" time. I was told something about ensuring the safety of the little ones. I naturally obliged; I'm not against child safety. After being at the gym for about an hour and a half and going back to my car, all the family spots were empty. So what I AM against are their inane policies and the lies they use to support them. I think it is important and fair to compare this Goodlife to other Goodlifes and not other gyms. Over the past year, I have been to Goodlife gyms in Burnaby, Winnipeg, London, Toronto, Ottawa, Halifax, St. John's, and Moncton. They all feature wifi and towel service as part of your membership. They all have much better change rooms. Most importantly, they don't seem to have the same policies that this one has adopted. The bottom line is I would never pay full membership price for this location. If they did some renovations to bring it up to standard with other locations (at the very least for the change rooms), and at least ease up on their policies, I would give this gym a much higher rating.

Members that goto this club are helpful and friendly. Staff is great always cheerful. Club is 24 hours most of the year but closed many holidays (I guess to save money) The club should always be open... 24/7/365 This place is need of renovation and new management that care about the cleanliness of the club for their paying members. Change room, washroom and showers seem to be cleaned overnight only. So if you go in the morning things are fairly fresh come the afternoon it stinks and hasn't been cleaned in hours. Showers always have a bad smell doesn't matter what time of day it is. Many machine are continuously in out out of service for the same reasons. (never fixed properly)

Stopped into this location recently to ask about reactivating my membership. I was a former client a few years back. I met with Brandon, who made a profile for me, gave me a tour of the gym and went over all the new equipment. He then sat and helped me set some personal goals. It was a good visit. Brandon was super attentive, knowledgeable patient and made me feel comfortable. My overall impression was very good! :) thank you.
