I enjoyed my experience here. I first noticed their adds when searching for used equipment on Kijiji, it popped up EVERY TIME I searched gym equipment. Staff was nice and helpful and the prices were VERY competitive and products seem to be of great quality as I walked out with over 100lbs of mixed weights. my order have been delayed for almost 2 months now I see people in here having the same problem unfortunately this is a scam I know this review will hurt their business but all the other reviews are right this business does not deserve the support, they will use COVID-19 as an excuse but it's just a scam I ordered from Fitness Depot and received my stuff within 2 weeks now fitness Depot stopped shipping they are only doing pick-ups but at least they are honest This company would take advantage of you please hear the poor reviews and don't buy from here

We have purchased our gym equipment here for the last year, and I believe we will continue to do so. It's a small place, with two floors and a stocked warehouse, I'm pretty sure you can and will walk away with equipment and accessories. Prices are pretty decent, and the staff is friendly, and knowledgeable. Try before you buy.

I bought the Amstaff DF1191 Lat, core and row machine, the Amstaff fitness squat/bench rack with bench, the 300lb olympic weight set with bar, and all this stuff is super sturdy and top notch in my books, you cant beat the quality for the price of everything, super nice guys to to deal with at the Barrie store, totally recommend this store to everybody looking for quality, price, and good service. My new favourite store!

If I could go lower on the ratings I would. This is not specific to the Barrie location, but the overall Fitness Avenue company as it exists currently with only online entity. Product is good, customer service is non-existent. I've outfitted 3 gyms with items from Fitness Avenue. Until their recent change to online only, everything was peachy. Through COVID, I understand we're all going through growing pains and hurdles... however, I as a business owner am also under those same growing pains and hurdles and can honestly say my customer service has remained a priority. In the last year, I've made 4 purchases. Not one of them has gone correct. 1 was leading into COVID, and then when it came time to pick up my product - it wasn't allowed because of COVID. Fine... I can understand. After several months, I became irritated and said to ship it. They ended up not even having my product in stock (likely sold it). Another order I placed at the beginning of COVID, and after several months, I was able to receive it... but once again, missing products that said in-stock online, and at the time of order. Order #3.... missing hardware, and wrong items sent. I had to purchase the hardware myself to install the items, and was able to have the wrong item corrected BY MYSELF through means of calling in favours from some friends that can weld. Customer service said they would look into reimbursing me for the hardware costs, but have since gone silent through emails (2 months without a response back so far...). Hardware totals nearly $100, excluding the likely $100-200 welding fee that should have been tacked on. Order #4: COVID was slowing down, stuff was re-stocking... I ordered the missing pieces from my Order #2. Its been 1 month, and not a single update. No order received, but they gladly took my money. Phone customer support... even worse! Waste of time. It rings, and then has an auto-hang up feature. Not even an opportunity to leave a voicemail. Handy way of getting around to actually fixing any issues.

Just walked in, looked around for weights. Staff was very friendly. Staff didn't just assist me, they offered me a better value product that was on sale I didn't know about. Ended up purchasing 4 Olympic Rubber Wights with grips compared to the steel ones I was intending on purchasing. Great customer service and very happy with the selection and inventory. Store is clean and they also have a washroom for customers. This also looks like a wharehouse behind the store where they had additional stock. Would recommend if you don't see it ask. Thank you for the great experience. Highly recommend for value and product selection.

I recently ordered a bench from their website. It came damaged. One of the bolts will not thread into the pad to connect the legs. I am unable to reach anyone via phone on their customer service number. Line continues to disconnect. I reached out via email. Ron the ASM of Toronto fitness avenue replied to my email asking for photos of the damage which I sent immediately. No response after that. I have now emailed them 4 times with no response. I contacted the Barrie store who informed me they do not stand behind the products sold via the website nor will they make any efforts to resolve the issue. They provided me an alternate contact number for customer service and assured me the issue would be addressed corporately however that line too disconnects.

Bought some decent weights and a bar here. Helpful staff. Prices are low, and the quality definitely reflects that. Everything works great but it just isn't as nice as more expensive equipment, but it does what it's supposed to and I would still buy here again. I bought an Olympic bar that had one side that was a little too large in diameter to fit some of the plates. They exchanged it no problem for a new one.

Fitness Avenue's customer service is beyond inept, it's contemptuous. For my first order back in March, they didn't have everything in stock, and emailed me to tell me as much. I asked them to call me and tell me which plates they did have so I could make a substitution. Nobody bothered to respond and they shipped it incomplete. Next I placed an order for more expensive bumper plates, and followed up immediately with an email to ask whether they were in stock. I waited two weeks with no response, so I emailed their main info@ address to cancel the order. I ordered plates from a competitor instead. Another 2 weeks later, they replied to my original email to tell me the plates are in stock and would be shipping soon, clearly having not gotten to my cancellation email. The plates arrived later that day because they had actually already shipped. I refused the delivery (since my other plates had already arrived from Ottawa), and Fitness Avenue refused to refund the shipping, and even deducted half the cost of the return shipping from my refund! I paid them a total of $180 in shipping fees and got nothing for it. They told me that to cancel an order I needed to email cancellations@. I even needed to order more stuff from them and asked for store credit as a compromise. What's worse, they take 2-4 weeks TO EVEN ANSWER AN EMAIL. Don't bother calling, they aren't answering. I contacted them again in October to get warranty replacements for the Amstaff Cable Tower cables which started to come apart after 6 months. First, they needed me to measure the cables and send photos of the ends, because apparently they don't know what cables are needed for their own product. I sent them those photos in October. It is now December 8th and I've sent a third email asking for an update. I've had a number of friends ask me about gym equipment during the pandemic and I have told all of them to buy from anyone other than Fitness Avenue. If you have a problem with either their products or service, they genuinely cannot be bothered to help. I've yet to have a positive experience on any front with this company, and their 4-star rating on here is mystifying, bordering on suspicious.

Please read recent review on Yelp, which have been hidden as "not recommended"... I would steer away especially during the pandemic. Poor customer service. EDIT: May 12, 2020 I've updated my rating to 5-stars. Fitness Avenue's customer service reached out to apologize and explain the amount of orders and lag times they are dealing with. They also helped me select an item to order and confirmed processing and delivery times are now being reduced extensively. Therefore, based on this, I've updated my review for them. I have chosen to give it another shot, now that things are beginning to stabilize. Feel free to email them first before you place your order in case you have concerns, but I'm glad I was finally able to order what I needed and speak to someone in regards to the issues in a professional and understanding manner.

First thing shipped to me, it took a while but it arrived. I then ordered $500 worth more of stuff. One month later and nothing has shipped. I have sent multiple e-mails, tried them on Facebook and tried calling but their inbox is full. They have taken the money off of my card - I am starting to think that maybe this is a scam.

Their customer service is phenomenal specially Shaemus! He is extremely helpful and professional. And their prices are really fair comparing to other places.

I ordered $350 worth of equipment. I haven't even been shipped the item yet. Having said that, I went on their website, and I e-mailed their contact e-mail and received no response. I sent 3 separate e-mails requesting an update with no response. No phone number to call for online orders. All stores closed. Is this some scam that you are taking advantage of people while they are on quarantine? It's been a full week since I placed an order, still no tracking, still not shipped out. You have all these e-mails on the website for customers to use with no response given. I will be contacting my credit card company for a charge back. STAY AWAY

Small quaint and chilled. Pretty straight up service and warehouse place. Check out displays ask a few questions pick up your stuff from the warehouse in the back. Very helpful. If you're looking for "retail probing and service" you won't get that here. And in this case it's a good thing. Not pushy. If you need help ask. If you have questions ask and they'll get answered. No sugar on top. Especially appreciated the prices. Also because I'm a beginner home gym builder. Very excited

I walked into the Avenue Fitness in Barrie and had a very good experience. Super clean, well stocked and got an answer to any questions I asked. If only other retailers used that basic formula, shopping would always have this same positive experience. Purchased a weight stack cable machine. Impressed with the quality design and materials at a great price point. Topping on the cake was the sales person ( his name is“Shaemus”). No pressure and didn’t waste your time talking about unrelated stories. My “go to place” for all things fitness.

If there was an option to put 0 stars that would be my choice. I am absolutely disgusted with the customer service and shady business this company provides. I ordered a spin bike at the time wait time was 15 days, after the 15 days I emailed asking when it would be shipped and was told 20 day wait time, so by the following week on day 20 it would be shipped. No email came through so I emailed customer service again and was informed my bike had been oversold and was no long available, this is after 2 previous emails had been sent and I was reassured I would be receiving the bike I had already PAID for in full. I was then offered a different bike for $200 more, the representatives who offered this bike took 24 hrs to respond to my emails inquiring about this different bike, resulting in another weeks delay. After I finally got my answers and decided to move forward I was told I needed to send a picture of my credit card and photo ID in order for them to charge the second amount, even though the initial payment for the first bike of $600+ had already cleared my credit card one month prior. They could not provide me with a clear and reasonable explanation as to why this was needed, and offered me to etransfer the money directly to them instead. I declined both offers as they were not logical and put a bad taste in my mouth, after my credit card company advised it was not a wise decision either. This company absolutely took advantage of people trying to support them during this pandemic. I took my business elsewhere and I have made a point to ensure everyone I know never gives there business to this company who acted like thieves during these trying times.

I ordered $2000 worth of equipment from them last year, and am happy with the quality and value. There should have been a part that holds the plates on the side of the squat rack that was missing, and I didn't mention it for for 9 weeks (my fault, I should have emailed them sooner). The issue I had was dealing with their customer service department and them only following up when I emailed repeatedly. I would understand if there was nothing they would do to help me, but giving me the run around and taking over 4 months of back and forth just to say they cant help was brutal. The equipment is great and would give 5 stars... the customer service ( or serious lack of) is a 1, maybe 2 at best.

First off...let me say how happy I am that we can actually purchase equipment inside of a store again, and not have to deal with those outrageous shipping costs. I initially went into the Barrie store in order to pick up a couple of 10 pound olympic plates...nothing major. But, somehow I ended up leaving with a seated preacher bench a couple of extra 25 pound plates...and my little 10s. Great customer service from Shaemus who was attentive and diligent, while I floundered about yet again adding to my home gym.
