This Gym is included in the category of Sports complex.
Love the facility, it’s big and there is all sorts of machines and equipment. Staff is nice and welcoming.
Kind of lame amount of stuff available for the high fees and required commitments. I found a gym that's less than half and it has more. The building is cool but you don't see it from the inside. Oh there are tons of kids here so if that bothers you go somewhere else
Reasonably priced gym that offers a ton of classes, has sports like basketball, volleyball, and badminton, and also has Olympic size swimming pools. They, of course, have many different exercise machines and free weights. The facility always feels clean and well maintained. This gym seems to attract all walks of life from those just starting out to hardcore athletes. Personal training is also offered, both one on one and group, for an additional fee (which is considerable). I would definitely recommend using this gym.
Plenty of great facilities and very fair times they are open to the public. Even when the gym is busy you won't have trouble getting in a desired machine in a timely manner. I have not tried any of the classes but there are a lot to try!
Worst service in the world. Employees do not know the instructions Every employee says different direction. Some say you can jump, other say you can't!!!
Wonderful place to workout with great equipment and awesome pools. Friendly and helpful staff and the group classes are fun. Spin and box is the best!! Place is clean and always have fun promotions. I enjoy going there and the point system for swag makes it even more motivational. Happy to be a member. Good family pricing.
This place is great! The parking lot is large and accessible, and the facility has lots of options. The number of basketball courts is surprising and the equipment all seemed to be in good shape. When I went there was a bit of a queue at the check in, but the employees dealt with it effectively and got everyone in on time!
Big well equipped gym, lots of pools. Very busy during peak hours but is open very early and very late so that helps find a good time to go. Only cold tub I'm aware of in the city. Bonus: work out under a sweet tent.
I doubt I could work out any place else. So big and bright with an indoor track.
I've come to this pool over 9 years and I would say the staff are very young and not analyzing each situation. Similar to the Calgary Zoo, that has only young staff and no maturity in leadership, Repsol has unfortunately taken on the same approach for staffing. I have 2 young children and almost due with the third in 2 weeks and they are extremely admit your mask be perfectly on your face at all times on a sweaty pool deck waiting for your child's lessons, heavens it's not covering the last 1/2" of my nose. I understand they are just following the guidelines put out by the province/city but these young lifeguards also cannot analyze a situation and take an appropriate approach. Even the city pools aren't this stringent in their rules and still take into account people aren't robots but human beings. I would not recommend this pool during covid restrictions if you are thinking of coming here with your family.
Great place for athletic conditioning. It was better when it was Talisman Centre because they enacted more stupid rules and raised prices. Therefore, I can no longer rate 5 stars.
Been going to the Repsol Sport Centre since 2018. I love doing Yoga here and the group classes. Jill, Renee, Nicola, Leah, Mallory and Lori are just the best. I feel welcomed and I miss it so much right now being closed. They are working hard keeping us safe. I understand that it can be confusing but some members don't see that at all. To give this place a one star shows that they only care about themselves and not others. They had to space out the lockers and divide things because of the members like this. When asked to wear masks, they didn't. Wake up people, this just isn't about you and your simple easy lives, this is about keeping everyone safe! They have to make it this way and it changes due to anti-maskers carelessness. The Repsol Sport Centre has been doing a great job with what they are faced with. Thank you for caring when others don't. Picked these up with my member points the day before the 2nd wave lockdown. See you guys back on the opening day!!
Great facility. But feel like member come second to sport clubs. Never any room to swim after 4pm cause swimming team take every lane And leave 1 lane open to public. Never parking on weekends due to swimming competition.
Love it. Your encouraged to work out; not be judged.
Best publicly accessible gym in Calgary. A wide array of equipment, friendly stuff, and nice changing rooms. They have done an awesome job adapting through Covid
Awesome facility. Doing their best during tough times!
I was raised in Calgary and used to come to “Lindsay Park” all the time growing up. I recently came back to Calgary for the holidays and came to Repsol Centre. It’s been nearly twenty years since I’ve been here and it’s still a great place …
Definitely love this place great atmosphere and positive vibes! People are very friendly! Its very spacious and there is a lot of activities to do there! You can workout! Go play some badminton and then maybe go shoot some hoops! And if that’s not enough go for a swim and go take a dip in the hot tub and also loosen your joints while you cool in the cold tub! Big Thanks to Elmi for helping me out and getting me my membership! Anyone new that is looking for a gym to go to in Calgary definitely choose Repsol centre!!!
Unclean, short staffed, fascistic/discriminatory management and policies…
Repsol is a great place for the family. There are so many activities you can do. The facilities are well maintained. Parking can get busy on weekends.
I came to the swimming with my 4 years old Daughter and there was a class in it. They put us out from the swimming pool saying I need to check up the web site about the swimming vacancy. I know I am wrong but we don't need to be treated like that. They constrained us and my daughter didn't stop crying for long. The employees need more resiliency. We pay their salaries with our monthly fee. Better treatment only.
Old and dirty showers. Front desk staff not friendly, lockers always wet. Staff members never even say hi, not a friendly environment. Some of the machines are old and out dated. When it gets too busy, not able to find enough dumbbells to share.
Great facility with very modern equipment. Staff were helpful.
I used to love this gym but the way they are handling the pandemic is ridiculous and unfair to its loyal consumers.. All other gyms are open and repsol can't even answer their phone for questions????????????? it keeps saying view our website for more details but when you search the web site it's never updated with no info on anything.... if they keep this up I'm going to be going back to goodlife it's cheaper and more convenient.... o yea and they open their door as soon as restrictions where dropped and they probably answer the phone when COUSTMERS call!!!!
I train in the pool. Some might find it cold... but the hot tub stays pretty warm and there is also a cold therapy tub. Pretty good except for after a synchro meet and you have to dodge gelatin in the pool for a week. The can get pretty slick. There are sometimes admission deals that can cut down on the cost. The last hour is cheap if you're looking to save money. Be careful some weekends because parking can get full when there is a swim meet on.
Great place can't wait till it reopens. This place will make you feel safe.
A great place to get active in Calgary, the Repsol Sport Centre is a great option but not the best. There's a wide range of activities to choose from, so you're sure to find something that suits your needs. My favorite thing about the Sport …
Love the facility! Amazing staff! Clean and maintained.
Took the family to go swimming because it said online that it was open everywhere in the pool. Once we showed up half the pool is closed and they did not update the online website. Very upsetting.
I fell in-love with This facility in 2003 due to the excellent childcare. I was previously not a gym person but soon began spending more time at the gym and then began enjoying the fitness and yoga classes too! All the instructors I have experienced have been amazing - they know their stuff and have a great passion and love for what they do. The front desk staff are kind and helpful! :-) It is a large facility and busy at times. It is a good idea to check the website to keep up with news regarding events and busy times. They are open early to late so there are lots of off-peak times available if a busy facility is not your thing. They offer free parking nearby if the lot is busy. Free parking near downtown is a rare thing! One can not beat the value of a membership here with the fitness, spin and yoga classes, pool, hot tub, gym etc.. It is an amazing value compared to other gyms and yoga studios in Calgary. Also on-sight there is a Jugo Juice and Good Earth Cafe with places to sit and chill. You could almost live here. :-)
This is a great gym for location and amenities (sauna, pool, lifting platforms, gyms, etc...) But there is an extreme lack of customer care and service. When there is an issue, management hides and won't respond to emails or calls. They …
This place has something for everyone, swimming aerobic and running activities, workout gym, diving, hot tub, steam room, and even a cold pool. Kid and adult friendly, there is a reason why this is the most popular fitness facility in Calgary. Great free parking all around, which is fabulous for downtown Calgary. They really need to do something about the rabbits however. I almost hit 3 of them on the entrance this morning (Sept 25, 2019)
This has been my go to gym for the past 6 years. I drive half an hour to get here and it’s worth it! The best sport facility in Calgary. The pools with the hot tub and steam room are the best part after a game of basketball or badminton or just a workout.
They will not cancel your membership. Lost my job just after everything opened, and I emailed them asking about it. They replied, saying I need to send this: "I (member's name and barcode) provide Repsol Sport Centre consent to cancel my membership and refund any credits to the credit card number provided on my Repsol Sport Centre membership contract." That was 3 months ago that I sent it, and they have not canceled it. I have sent that 4 separate occasions, with no response and money STILL being pulled from my account. My next step is going to the bank and getting them to cancel the auto payment on my credit card.
I’d leave a 5 star rating if it wasn’t for your customer service manager, Ellen Danielson. She completely ruined it for me and several others. She is full of bad attitude, negative energy every time, and is very entitled. I’ve been a member for years now, so when I say negative energy every-time, I mean it. How thorough are the hiring screenings Repsol provides? Why do they allow someone, who is in charge of other employees, to yell at paying customers? And for what? I have no idea. I can only imagine how the other staff members feel everyday with her. I strongly advice Repsol to do something about her position because given this incident you will be losing more paying customers. You already lost 7.
No Badminton courts available as posted in the schedule and it's disappointing that staffs are ignorant about that. Bunch of my friends cancelled the membership due to scheduling issue. Counter customer service is good. People who Schedule courts don't value members time wasted visiting the facility to realize no course available.
Classes are great. But someone should pickup the phone, not everyone can go to downtown and ask in-person.
I've been a member for 10+ years. Over the past 18 months (and counting) the staff and management have risen to the occasion, offering as much access to the facility as possible in a very fluid environment. These have been very challenging times and I've seen first-hand the staff respectfully dealing with unhappy users, most recently as the vaccine passport has rolled out in the province. Keep up the great work - we'll get through this together!
Going to goodlife or gold gym, Feels like they don't want more members they trying to get rid of their members. Unprofessional manager and she's Bad costumer service.
I went to Repsol to renew my first aid certification back in summer. It was very difficult to do so as I didn't take the initial course at Repsol and couldn't book it online. I tried emailing and phoning many times, but no one answered. I just kept calling and calling until I was finally able to reach someone and book the class. It seems like being unable to make contact is a real problem for Repsol any time of year after reading these reviews. Otherwise, the facilities look very nice and it is conveniently located if you live close to downtown.
During a pandemic, Repsol has refused to cancel my subscription. I am a teacher, and have made a conscious effort to limit my exposure in public. I haven’t used my membership in November at all and will not be using forward, because it isn’t ethical. Repsol has refused to cancel my membership. There is no empathy at all. In a time when most people’s lives have been turned upside down, this facility is happy to be taking my money, for a service I can’t use. Incredibly disappointing!
Repsol seems to be a pretty good facility on their pool side with nice hot tubs, pools, etc. However I personally was very interested in the diving boards particularly the 7.5m and 10m. On their website it says no one can use them under the age of 16 which is fair until you get their and they tell you cannot use them what so ever. Their website does need to be updated and they also didn't allow me to dive off of the 5m. They said for reliability purposes after i purchased my drop in. Personally I have always wanted to jump fof the 10m and would love if you guys implemented a waiver so I cannot sue or anything, that would be wonderful. Other then some flaws on their website its a pretty good place.
I absolutely love this place. It gives me that sense of community. Lots of regulars... Perfect for workout... Classes...meet so many amazing people of diverse background and knowledge.
I have been attending the Repsol Sport Centre for a while now and I'm currently enjoying their group exercise classes the most! The Get Ripped classes have been awesome and the instructors are great! Always looking forward to attending their class!
Great facility!
Excellent facility with plenty of healthy activities for all
Cristina McDonagh is the best massage therapist I have seen in Canada, in the last ten years. She is a deep tissue master, and has a great awareness of pressure needed and what pressure can be tolerated. I would recommend her again and again. Thank you.
Gym has tons of equipment, great place to work out. The classes are also really good. They have a hot tub, cold tub and steam room for after the gym as well. Staff are polite and helpful
Best place to workout in Calgary. Tonnes of classes to choose from. Amazing instructors. Clean facility. Great pricing. Warm and welcoming environment.
I have been a member here for a number of years now. The facility is 10/10, most of the staff are amazing. But ever since COVID came into play, the management has absolutely blown it. Delayed openings, trying to charge members as drop-ins, and now shorter hours. I love this place, but it almost feels like they are trying to get rid of their members. I used to love ending a long day with a workout. Now I can't even make it in time because they decided to cut their hours. Lets get that 11pm close time going again
amazing facility and pool, lots of room and VERY CLEAN! I have been swimming here for over five years, and the staff are all very skilled at their jobs, and very personable people. I always enjoy coming in and will recommend Repsol Sport Centre to all my friends and family.
Drove all the way from red deer to an appointment I had and had to wait hours to finally get in. Very disappointed with the service I was provided. Have to pay a no show fee if you arrive late or not show up but they are okay with making you wait a few hours to go in... very unimpressed
Bad service !! Each employee saying different restriction
The new pool is so peaceful! The old pool is also great for training. I really enjoy watching the competitions that happen here in the pools.
Emma's customer service was excellent yesterday! She helped me out with an issue yesterday and saved me the hassle of having to contact a manager. Thanks! Very much appreciated. Wonderful facility with and endless array of exercise and activity options.
I was relatively new to yoga when I started taking classes with Bhavna and a bit uncertain of my abilities. Her classes are amazing - she's so positive and encouraging, provides great variety so classes are always fun and interesting, and gives modifications to accommodate all skill levels. Highly recommend!
No where else in Calgary that I would rather be a member. Large facility with a little bit of everything. A variety of exercise classes, large resistance training area with cardio machines, weight machines, free-weights, olympic lifting platforms, pool, hot tub, track, gym space for basketball or racquet sports. Equipment is maintained, facility is kept clean and staff are friendly and helpful if needed. I anticipate a very long term membership for my family and I.
I visited repsol the first time 25 years ago, since it was Lindsey Park, always great service and amazing facilities. Stopped going there since the COVID-19, but hopefully I will go back again soon.
Son learned Fencing with opponents, he said actually quite tired with arm, hot in the mask, when scored beats on the side. Thanks to “Calgary All sports one day!”
Very bad service Each lifeguardsSaying different restriction .
Customer service is Zero. If you manage to reach someone they hang up. This is not how a city run facility should operate especially since we pay from city coffers to support the facility.
My wife and I purchased Repsol Annual Passes just over a month ago, since we were hoping to take up swimming as our main physical activity. The Annual Pass was expensive, but it was also the most cost-effective way of joining Repsol. During the past month, we've unfortunately found that our plans of swimming on both weekday evenings and weekends has not worked out. On typical weekday evenings, we've found that 28 out of 32 available lanes in the four swimming pools have been set aside for bookings by clubs, leaving only 4 lanes for public swimmers. These 4 lanes are generally not enough to accommodate the amount of people looking to swim, and by the time that we arrive at the Centre after work, we've found that two or three people are typically already swimming in each of the four lanes. There have been a couple of times now where we've shown up and haven't been able to swim at all for lack of availability, and have had to simply head home again. After talking to the generally quite friendly on-site staff about this and getting their recommendations, we've been told that weekdays are typically very busy with club use, and that it can often be difficult to find public lanes to swim in until 9pm or so. It's nice for the clubs to have so much lane capacity, but public swimmers unfortunately do not seem to get the same consideration by the Repsol Centre. Our recommendation for anyone considering a Repsol Pass for public lane swimming would be to try going a few times before buying a membership, even if it means paying higher per-use rates to do so. Given the experience so far, we regret our decision to have purchased annual passes. Update 1: Since we've struggled getting weekday swim lane availability, we went on Sunday morning since the online swim schedule noted 12 public lanes open in the morning. However, when we arrived, 8 of the 12 lanes that were supposed to be open to the public were closed and they were instead running private swim lessons out of that pool. Public swimmers were waiting around remaining lanes hoping to grab lanes as they freed up. This was disappointing, and we are now looking to cancel our memberships. Update 2: A manager at Repsol arranged a phone call with me and explained that they are dealing with a lifeguard shortage, which apparently is why they are struggling with lane availability. They are also going to be ensuring that the lane swim schedule is kept up-to-date. We did get a refund, but I'm also hopeful that they provide better availability for the public in the future for lane swimming.
I’ve been working out my ability to make a decision and shutting you down was what I had to do. It wasn’t easy but I make the difficult decisions Calgary needs. Once I make the vaccine accessible to everyone we can all gather in your Olympic size pool and sit closer than six feet in your sauna. I miss your cold pool, it made me feel alive. Gyms are first on my list to bring back to Calgary so we can all work off the covid 19 we gained during our time of uncertainty. Thank you for being patient, I promise this will be the best summe calabry has ever had.
The best centre ever. Such good equipment, ventilation, prices, cleanliness and the staff are very cool. I have gone for many years and loved it. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Worth every cent.
Good place for all kinds of sport ,location is great and parking is always easy . I like it .
I have been trying to call for days now hoping to book the dive tank, having called well over 20 times I have yet to be able to talk to anyone about the possibility of doing so. Very sad to see that I am unable to support this facility due to a complete absence of customer service.
I sent an email to the manager about 3 weeks ago about membership policy and still didn’t receive anything from her. I even ask the reception to let the manager know that I emailed her but still, nothing.
Repsol has a very poor management and lack of good private swim instructor. My child joined Repsol over 2 years and in level 5, the Aquatic Manager can still book the kids pool for my child to learn swimming. When I asked for a private lane to teach my child, the manager said they reserved all lanes to the group already. The only solution is to use kids pool or public lane. The private instructors are not experience as well, my 2nd younger child is 5 yrs old, who took over 30 classes in Repsol and still cannot learn how to float by himself. One of the bad experience is the instructor likes to take absent. Normally 3 out of 10 classes are using a substitution to teach my kid. I strongly NOT recommend any parents to choose Repsol swimming lessons for your children as I don’t want you to be another victim like us. Attached is the reply from the Repsol Aquatic Manager for everyone to judge how they treat the participants.
I am now boycotting this business for life. As this is another uneducated, unprofessional and non compliant business to the City of Calgary face mask EXEMPTION rules. The CEO Jeff Booke denied my entry, aggressively approached me and threatened me and stated I had to wear a face mask or leave. Violating Repsols own Zero Tolerance Policy. I informed and educated this person and told them I am medically Exempt from wearing a face mask and directed him to read the City of Calgary bylaw and comprehend it. He said he didn't care and if I don't put a face mask on he will call the police to have me removed. I was a long time user of Repsol as well long before when it was Lindsay park and Talisman centre and I do not condone businesses like Repsol that discriminate against persons that have a medical condition preventing them from wearing a face mask. Nor threaten people. Not only will I now cancel my membership but I will boycott this business for life, long after pandemic. If you cannot respect me and my disability I will never enter your business again. I do not recommend anyone to go to Repsol Sport Centre and support a business like this that discriminates against people. I hope more businesses like this shut down and go bankrupt. We do not need this type of discrimination in today's society or businesses like you. This place also violates your personal privacy by having video surveillance cameras in the change rooms. How disgusting is that?!
Not sure how you guys haven't received a class action lawsuit yet over the fact that you have security cameras in the change rooms where people and there children change. Do not bring your kids to this place ever. I stopped coming here due to the fact that they have CCTV security cameras in the mens change room. This has me in deep concern for not only the safety of children, but for the safety of everyone that uses that change room. Ps. Got a response from owner telling me that my review is inappropriate. I'm just being honest. And I personally dont want to change in a change room where I'm being watched on camera, and like I mentioned before I certainly wouldnt want to bring my kids to a place where they are being watch changed. This is litterally the first time in my life I have seen cameras in a change room, this is incredibly inappropriate of them. If there's an expectation of privacy in an area, then you can't have a camera. ... Bathrooms are nearly always considered an area where someone can expect privacy. Because of that, security cameras aren't allowed in bathrooms. But security cameras can be allowed outside of bathrooms. HOW ABOUT YOU LET ME FILM ALL YOUR STAFF CHANGING WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION? SHOULDNT BE AN ISSUE AS LONG AS ITS PASSWORD PROTECTED, RIGHT????
Relatively new member, but so far am loving Repsol pools. Always enough lanes open and easy to grab one - usually more open when I arrive than the website lists, which is great. Clean and well maintained. Any staff I have encountered has been really helpful and friendly. Happy they are keeping us safe by implementing the 'Restrictions Exemption Program' and requiring proof of vaccine.
Pretty good pool. Nice pool for kids.
Canceled membership when they closed for the "pandemic". Still being charged and no response to emails to reverse the charges.
Don’t leave your stuff behind, staff is completely useless and unwilling to help. My wife left a nice water bottle in the change room. I went to try and retrieve it later that same day and the girl that was working the front desk was not willing to go check the locker room to see if it was still there. There were three people working the front desk and it was not very busy, so there should not have been any reason that she couldn’t take 5 minutes out her busy schedule to go check. We will not be returning to this place since customer service is not what they are about.
Repsol employees looking pretty ashamed to be implementing illegal policies that discriminate against the disabled and those with immune system disorders. they are not following the provincial health mandates and implementing their own illegal policies. if they were confident in the way they're treating people, why would they be ashamed to show their faces?
Front desks female horible services tereble comunication skills please do something about that other then that 10 out of 10
They have a new scam where they "socially distance" the free lockers meaning it is impossible to find a locker most days. The paid lockers are, coincidentally, not "socially distanced". Absolutely abhorrent. Also, they've now taped off the water fountains, literally depriving people of water. What new evidence has come to light to suggest water fountains are a big transmission vector for covid19? Who knows. Just another indignity to suffer through for a virus that has killed just 1 in 6500 Albertans.
Good place for swimming, it has been quite clean all of the times that we have visited. The only downside to this facility is the parking. Depending on the time of the day that you visit will mean driving around the lot looking for an empty spot. At times this lot has been full and you will have to park in another pay lot and walk over.
+ Great facilities + Staff in person are nice - They appear to have a policy of not answering the phone at any time of the …
It is impossible to speak with somebody on the phone. I have called numerous times and different hours to ask about COVID protocols and they are impossible to reach. They try everything imaginable to redirect to the website that does not provide the information you are looking for. I would not recommend Repsol if customer service is important to you. Facility is modern and nice.
