I’ve called multiple times and sent an email to customer care regarding my questions as to why you guys are STILL taking fees out of my account. It’s been a full 7 months since I cancelled my membership and you took another 50 out yesterday. I am in school and don’t have the money to pay off all these “enhancement” or “missed” fees in which i was told wouldn’t be drawn from my account after my confirmed membership cancellation. After my experience here I will not be going to another motion fitness again. Stop taking fees from my account.

This gym from the start is amazing. The atmosphere says it all. It def is not like other places I've tried (good life) " you gotta be fit to fit in" Prices are fixed for everyone at motion and there is no CONTRACT. The classes are unlimited but most of all the instructors are fun, energetic, involved and motivating. The trainers don't see you as a $ sign and there is no limit to see you exceed. My personal experience was astonishing she went to the moon and back to ensure I got every ounce of opportunity. The free tanning and sauna is also a very nice perk.

Read the agreement or dont sign up at all. You cant sign up for membership unless you give them your bank account or credit card info. Then they ask to give two months notice to cancle. Like anybody can plan two months in advance...i would suggest only paying for any gym membership in cash month by month.

Great gym for the price. Getting busier but staff are doing a good job of making sure the place is clean. So far everyone seems to be wiping things down after - which should've happened anyway but people are gross. Still wish they had more than anothe squat rack or two, as the serious lifters are the first ones back and the racks are becoming busier if you go later in the day. Still, great gym and great staff.

THIS GYM IS A COMPLETE SCAM!!! By far the worst gym i have ever experienced in my life! They Double charged me for 6 months straight and wouldn't give me my money back so i cancelled my membership and they continued to charge me over and over. Head office is a complete joke because they dont assist you at all and they couldn't care less about their members. PLEASE DONT SIGN UP HERE

Good Gym- like many places, they reel you in with the promise of cheap membership when it is really more expensive. The advertisements seem like you will pay $20 a month for the no classes package when it really averages out to ~$28 a month once you add in the registration fee and an annual maintenance fee of $60. Also take note that the no contract option still requires you to give two months of notice before termination and they've been finicky about what counts as notice with members of my family in the past. Not a huge problem, just make sure you know what you're getting into. I'd be more upset but it seems like most gyms have practices like that these days. The gym itself is relatively good. One full rack with deadlift/olympic platform + rubber plates, one half rack, two benches, around 6 barbells scattered around the place in total. During peak times you will likely have to wait for a rack or other equipment so it's not ideal for powerlifting or any sort of compound lifting program, but if you come in the off hours it's adequate. Locker room is nice enough, good sized lockers and is quite clean. They used to have towel service, bit of a bummer that they don't any longer. Overall not a bad gym, good for most people but if you're a serious lifter you might be better off finding someplace with a little more real estate.

This is the most fantastic gym I have ever been to. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. It is so nice to see a smiling face when I walk in at the front desk. Lots of machines, no line ups. The Personal Trainers are so knowledgeable and super caring about my health and needs. I have Sarah right now, who is so patient and caring. Dave, the manager is very friendly to everyone. It's like "coming home" I was taking a special class, but after the first class, knew I had to cancel for minor medical reasons. The teacher was very understanding, even though the problem was very minor. Also, to my surprise, I was given a refund for the classes I was going to miss. It is a bright light in the community.

UPDATE: They arbitrarily increased their pricing by 30% with no letter or email to update customers. They continued to advertise their lower pricing online and on radio for several months after. The 30% price increase did not translate to a 30% improvement in their service delivery or facility upgrades. My membership has since been cancelled due to this lack of professionalism by Motion Fitness. Very competitive membership pricing. It would be nice if they would allow members to pay for the full year in advance and provide a discount for doing so.

Two squat racks, two benches, incline and decline benches, lots of cable machines. The staff are the best at any gym I've been to. They actually care about their jobs and the state of the facility. The patrons, however, are jackasses with no respect. Weights are never racked properly, at least three people every time I'm there (five times a week) aren't wiping off benches, and there are some smelly S.O.Bs there. Treat the staff and your fellow weightlifters with respect and do your part to keep Motion the best gym in Okotoks (obligatory GoodLife is a bag of puke mention).

Penalizing a minor to cancel his membership and charging him $60 because of his freedom of choice, is a terrible thing to do. You did not give HIM the 60 days notice that you would be discriminating against him and so how would he have known to do this? It's terrible....

Go here everyday, amazing equipment; works every part in the body. The people are so nice, especially employees. I've never seen a gym so cheap. ONLY $20 a month. I love it, I love everything in it. After every workout I take a shower and go into the steam room and it cleared my acne and it hydrates my skin. I wouldn't go to any other gym.

I LOVE this gym! It is a very affordable gym membership. I really enjoy the clean space, clean showers, steam room and change rooms. The change rooms are clean, modern and very spacious. The equipment is well maintained and rarely out of order as the staff work hard to ensure things are looked after in a timely manner The membership also includes tanning, which is huge for me for winter blues. I should also mention that the memberships have NO CONTRACT which is huge! The staff is very kind and I look forward to seeing them daily. Thank you!!

Massage Therapist - Melissa Miller undid months and months of damage I did to myself with stress from work and other physical strains. She is easy-going and comfortable to be around making the Deep Tissue Therapy massage that much more effective. You may be in a lot of pain, I know I sure was, but not be sure where the pain is. I feel a lot of referred chronic pain, so I leave it to her to find the tension and injury and work it out. FANTASTIC! - Kent Pomares

I'm disappointed in how they handled my membership cancellation 10 months ago. I moved away and the manager suggested that I put the membership on hold so that I would not incur initiation charges should I re-join. Unexpectedly almost a year later monthly fees were being taken out of my credit card again. When I called to cancel, I was told I had to do this in person. I blocked them on my credit card but they fought it and won. I made the trip down in person and cancelled Dec 21. Since then the charges keep coming!

I signed up because of the "no contract" angle. The cost was $170.00 with monthly payments of $40+ I moved back to Calgary, phoned to cancel, only to find out about the hidden 60 day cancellation fee. This means that while there are no motion fitness locations near me, I still have to make 4 more membership payment's. I discourage anyone from joining this gym, because of the hidden fees and dishonest sales people.

These guys are crooks. Please take this as a warning. There are plenty of other local gyms that are way better. I know of countless people who have had their money stolen from these guy. They went through the correct processes of ending their account, paid the two months additional fee (manadatory fee which they paid) and then were continued to be charged, completely unbeknownst to them, until it got sent to collections! I use to work out here also. The service was sub par. They were giving babies - and when I say babies I mean tiny 6 month old babies - hard candy without the parents knowledge or consent. Not only is this an extreme choking hazard, but it’s also way out of line to feed any child anything without checking simply because of allergies. A child did end up choking and thankfully no one was hurt, but I think incompetence and conmen best describe this business. Save yourself the money and stress!

I love working out at Motion Fitness. The gym is clean, the equipment is rarely down and if it is, it is repaired withing 1-2 days and the staff is super friendly. Dave Thomas is my personal trainer and he is fantastic. I never worry about getting bored as he mixes up the workouts and I never worry about getting injured. His attention is on his client the whole time. You also cannot beat the price.

The WORST gym experience! I been there for just one month and i moved to Anytime fitness So, i talked to employee who worked at the front about cancellation and the employee told me that i am good to go and i dont have to worry about that. And after year, i and my partner got mail to home that we owe balance to motion fitness AND figured out that membership was NOT cancelled. I called them but what they said is that cause i didnt sign for cancellation form, I have to pay for all the balances. I didnt know anything about cancellation form cause that employee didnt INFORM me about that! How could customer know your rule if you don’t tell. *I WONT NEVER GO BACK TO MOTION FITNESS*

It's been almost 4 years since I've visited motion fitness as I no longer live in Okotoks as I've moved on to pursue an education... This week I receive a letter in the mail from some debt collection company and lo and behold they are associated with Motion Fitness who are after my money. I guess my membership was "never officially cancelled" and I was owing payments. I was never contacted this about this yet this company has my address and phone number? Really glad you guys target young people/students who used your local facilities. Absolutely brutal service over the phone- no one was useful and manager wasn't available. Now I have to deal with this national credit company and hope my score survives. Thanks motion!

I love my gym and I love my trainer Maggie. I have been a member at Motion Fitness for quite a while and I could think of no other place I would rather go for working out. I signed up with Maggie well over a couple of years ago and couldn't be happier. She has helped me with learning proper form, proper stretching, eating and tracking macros. I love her enthusiasm, her dedication to her craft, and her commitment to her clients. She is readily available to answer any questions via in person, text, or phone call. Spin is grueling, Tribal Barre is brutal but I really enjoy the classes she leads. Maggie is also there to greet everyone that walks through the door and asks them how their morning is going, how they are feeling, how is the wife........etc! Interesting I wonder how many other Okotoks residents are being harassed by Motion Fitness this month. I just received a collections notice for 337.92 for a membership that I cancelled in 2019. At that time I was told I had to pay the cancellation fee in cash which I did. Year and a half later and I’m being sent to collections. You don’t have to dig too deep to find out this is apart of their business model. Look online! BUYER BEWARE!

Amazing staff, Taylor , CJ and Suman. Facility is ultra clean,the cleaning staff never stop and are always on top of ensuring equipment is spotless. Members are polite and friendly. Tanning daycare and showers are open. Lots of cardio Options good selection of weights and machines. Easy place to get a solid workout in. Very professional with enough of a family Atmosphere to make anyone comfortable. I personally have quit my Calgary gym to come to Okotoks @motionfitness it’s worth the money and drive.

This is a lovely gym. It is not saturated in televisions and has a great vibe and a good energy. Staff are friendly, not obsequious. Managers are gentkemen and really care about their clients. It's the opposite of a big-box mega gym.

We have the same issue as the last reviewer, a cancelled membership that was paid (as I was told) and suddenly my daughter has a $325 collection notice and we have never heard a peep from the gym for a payment. That is terrible business and obviously we will never give any business to Stonebridge (the parent company) again.

Use to go here constantly but has been very dirty lately and now that I'm heading out of town for 7 months just finding out two days ago I went to cancel my membership and they apparently need two months notice to cancel so I had to pay in advance two months just to cancel my membership. Honestly it might be cheaper Month to month but la fitness across town is a much better gym and they dont try and charge you tons of money for ridiculous things. Read all the fine print in the contract and you will see how extortionate they really are.

She helped me educate myself on not only how to properly use the equipment and proper form, but how to eat properly and track my nutrients so I could achieve my goals faster and properly. This place was great at first. Been trying to cancel my membership as I don't live in okotoks and each month this place is taking more and more money out of my account. I've stated in a few emails that I can not make it in to sign this release waiver as I havent lived in okotoks for quite some time. The lady who is emailing says I can not cancel. Seriously? Stop with the excuses. I dont live in okotoks. I have stated over 30 days ago that I want my membership cancelled and all I get in response is no, I have to sign papers and pay more for administration fees for not providing proper payment... Of you decide to get a membership with this gym. You're better off paying for every time you go in. They won't let you cancel.

We love this gym. We wanted to try spin classes. Tried a few others in Okotoks, they were okay. Then we came and tried R30 with Andrea Chew. Wow. So much positive energy, always smiling and laughing. She can motivate you and still make the workout fun. As beginners she made us feel very welcome and able to keep up with the class. We have since tried several of her other classes and found the same positive energy and motivation. She is the reason we joined this gym over others in town. Super awesome instructor, and person.

DO NOT JOIN HERE, Cancelled a membership over three years ago irresponsible teenagers working at the front desk cant be bothered to file a proper cancellation form apparently. They continued to debit an account no longer in use. Called management who assured me it would be rectified (TWO YEARS AGO) yet charges continue. Contact head office to rectify this and nothing is rectified AGAIN. TWO YEARS AGO. Never hear back from the head office, I have never been contacted at all by the gym and charges cease. Yet now THREE+ Years later notice a collections charge. Have contacted head office twice now and they have not gotten back to me. Have reported to BBB. BEWARE. Extremely shady business practices all around. Okotoks location will give you the run around when you try an rectify any issue nobody ever has a clue what's going on!

The gym is first rate: well equipped, and clean. But, the drawing card to me, is the front desk staff. Saneer, Sumon, Joy etc are what MAKES this place and they do a fantastic job. I'd think, or hope, that the owners would value a staff like this. The only negative note, and I haven't experienced it yet, is a front office problem and has to do with members who try to cancel memberships, and seem to have a significant amount of trouble doing so. Otherwise, this would be a five star rating.

Another gym like Goodlife. Impossible to reason with people. I moved from Okotoks to Calgary because my work moved me and they wouldnt let me out of my personal training. I even offered to pay off the training I had already used and just cancel the rest but they don't do that.

I love my gym ❤ My trainer Ivan is phenomenal! He walks me through the detail I need to "get it"...to be able to hold the posture that allows for the targeted muscles to engage... The whole experience feels optimal and efficient and most of all... tremendously exciting to be taking my body to a whole new platform :)

Multiple emails and texts and still nothing. DO NOT give your money to these people, they are crooks. I paid for personal training sessions on Nov. 24th 2017 and had a trainer call me about two weeks later to book in an initial interview. I had the interview and we book the initial session for Jan. 4th. Adam called me up the day of the session and cancelled. He said his availability had changed and he would book me in with another trainer. I have heard nothing. I went into the gym on Jan 27th to get my money back and cancel my membership. The front desk attendant stayed the manager would call me this week. Nothing. I'm out $311.85......

I absolutely love this gym. I have been going to Motion Okotoks off and on since 2014. The prices are incredibly affordable, the facility is always kept clean, staff are so welcoming and sincere. Three staff members in specific I'd like to thank for the hospitality, Chris, Josef(90% chance I spelt it wrong) and Larry the cleaner. All very hard workers and have always made my visits to the gym a little bit brighter and better.

Motion Fitness is the single best gym and fitness club which I have ever been a member of. The facility is very well maintained and the equipment is top quality. They have a full range of great exercise equipment and training rooms for special classes as well as a massage service, a child care space on the premises and for the ladies, a separate workout area for those gals who want a little privacy while they work out. Add excellent value for the dollar, a smoothie bar and accessories shop to a very friendly and knowledgeable staff and you definitely have a winner. I make the drive to to Okotoks every other day from wherever I happen to be and I’m always glad that I did. If you’re going to get fit, get fit at Motion Fitness!
