No pool
Great weight area. Dumbbells go up to 120!! Would 100% recommend coming to this GoodLife.
Great facility itself, but can turn into a circus and social club around suppertime.
Will be calling main office and cancelling my membership . This place is gone downhill. The taller night staff girl doesn't even work the desk shes always on the floor exercising in her gym clothes not even wearing her work attire , the front desk is always left unattended while she socializes with men and exercises. I tried calling for 40 minutes one time on a possible holiday and no answer . I show up and she's in the floor doing what I just mentioned . I have watched the phone ring while she shes on the treadmill talking to a guy and phone just ringing . I have pictures as well . No equipment gets put away while she works and nobody can call the gym and get an answer. I'm done . Going to full force
The gym has lots of equipment and a good variety. It’s huge and with covid they do they’re best. HOWEVER, out of all the GLs I go to in Edmonton, the staff here are SO RUDE!! Every time I go here, my encounters with staff have been horrible, biggest downfall is their customer service.
Great place to workout..
I’m visiting from Southern California and I went to inquire about a day pass. The girl at the front desk was absolutely dismissive and not really willing to help. I suggest if you want to earn more money, you should start with customer service. I’m giving a one star because that’s exactly what is deserved.
always go at this gym since I got a bad experience, now I will go to another one.
Ok.
Exactly what you expect
Love to go there late night, clean with the availability of all equipments, keep up the good work!
Great location, well equipped
Great space. Friendly staff. Even the members are super friendly. No meat heads eying you up smashing weights around. Super clean. I can’t wait to go back when covid cools off. Get vaccinated so we can get things moving!
I like this location. Nice staff, nice courteous members and lots of space to park. Equipment is well maintained. Gym is clean and doesn't smell bad. Sauna, steamroom and showers also well maintained.
I just want to comment about my experience in cancelling my membership this past Friday at Goodlife South Park. I was greeted and taken to a computer, which was fine, however, the representative completing the paperwork was incredibly rude and condescending . He almost made me walk out of the building. I understand you are unhappy I am cancelling my membership, however, I do not believe I should have been treated the way I had when I had been a loyal customer for an entire year. He asked me why I quit, and I told him, honestly, that I had a better rate with a different gym through the company I work for. When asked where, I told him what gym. He then went on to say rudely "Pfft, I sprained my ankle in their basket ball court, I will NEVER Go back there." I said, well, okay. I'm looking forward to it as there is not only that, but a pool. He then responded with "You wanna go to a pool? with band-aids and pee and scabs? ew." I kind of looked at him and said, well, all pools are like that. And then he said "sorry, they train us to be feral when someone cancels their membership." The entire time, I felt belittled, like I was being talked down to, and utterly made feel to be ashamed that I wanted to leave the Good Life. When he finally completed the paperwork, after rudely speaking to me for an awful 15 minutes that felt like an eternity, I could not WAIT to get out of the gym. I will be letting my friends know about this experience, I am highly disappointed, considering I had been there for a year with nothing but good things to say.
The worst gym I have ever been to. I had to leave Edmonton to go to the Arizona on some legal reasons, not only did they charge me 250 dollars to get out of my contract, they also stole another 30 dollars a week later, claiming that I didn't cancel in time, even though I cancelled more then 10 days ago. As a student, that doesn't make a ton of money, this was a headache to deal with. No one at the facility was helpful. In then end I spent over 280 extra dollars to leave a gym. Never sign up with this gym, there is no forgiveness when trying to leave their nasty contracts. Look for other gyms that don't deal with contracts, because if its anything like Goodlife, they will try to squeeze every penny out of you.
It's 24hrs 7 days a week, great lighting. Excellent cardio area and steam and sauna works well!
Great facility with friendly staff. Glad I made the switch to this chain of gyms recently.
Great facility with friendly staff. Glad I made the switch to this chain of gyms recently.
Staff are super nice, the gym is large and has an excellent variety of machines and weight areas. There is lots of training areas and classes to try.
Great facility and kind staff. Like others have mentioned, it can get quite busy at peak hours. Otherwise a great place to work out.
After years of coming here I can tell everyone that: NO things will not get better all of the problems of miss communication and actual equipment and facilities being being out of order will not be fixed. You are always going to have issues coming to this club and trying to use it.
one of your locations seems to be blocking negative reviews
Great facility, great classes.
Love this gym
Great gym, they finished doing some renos. Good selection of equipment and clean.
had to cancel my membership three times before they stopped chargeing me
Frank is the best trainer there!
Always clean and great staff.
Jan 19th addendum: Immediately after leaving a review regarding exercise bikes being in disrepair with no foot straps I received an email from the manager saying they were ordering them asap and fixing them. Now a few weeks later there are only 2/5 bikes with straps and one of the ones with straps is making noise and wrecked leaving only one working bike. Once again I have to say this is ridiculous and unacceptable given How much people pay for these memberships and how basic access to a working excercise bike should be at a gym.
Great place to lift. Lots of equipment. Tanning beds available so it's one less stop to make
Girls locker scale has been broken for months. It doesn't give the right weight. Needs more stair climbers. Kettle weights need to be moved to public section instead of inside the private area. Too much advertising for TRX program. Sometimes busy on the evening. Other than that, its decent. Lots of weights, clean, lots of machines, friendly staff.
Noon (1215slot ) staff always lagging in checking people in.. its like they don't understand we are here on our lunch break. Not only do we only get 1 hr but they always let us in late by the time u start it's 1225. Please figure this out.
Well it is a goodlife gym these are always well taken care of
Wow! I joined GoodLife Fitness at the end of December and can't wait to see the facility when they open March 19th (tentative). All I've seen so far are pictures of what presumably is their best facility in Canada and a proposed layout of the floor. Really not sure what the reviewers below are talking about as the facilities have yet to open or be available for viewing. The only people you can talk to are enthusiastic sales people who get paid to sign you on a contract, and I suspect leave the other reviews here. I was enticed by a) 8 weeks free & $18 bi-weekly (read $39/month), reducing to $16 bi-weekly after my initial 2 year agreement, and b) World Heath Club (my former gym) not seemingly wanting me to renew at anything less than $50 per month. No incentive and the 3rd increase since I signed with them in 2005. I have high hopes for this gym.
Update-Staff is great and equipment seems to be well maintained. Love the steam room.
This location is convenient for me but unfortunately it's kind of gross. Last time I went there were dirty masks and paper towel all of the place and the lighting there is very poor and dark. It does not have the same feel as its other well kept locations. Decent equipment but not happy with how there is no deadlift platform and a lot of popular equipment is limited to only the personal training area. If you can go to rabbit hill do it .
Goodlife keeps charging me extra and don’t know whats going on, I asked and complained and no one called me back to explain..huh
Figured I may as well drop a review. The place is much better than a year ago clearly. Zero problems thus far!
Normally go late at night and this gym is very well equipped and kept clean!
Not busy during the Day. Always clean. Friendly and helpful staff
Great gym
1) double machines of a lot of equipment 2) older goodlife but love the atmosphere 3) best gym lighting 4) the 1 hour workouts suck (0/5 star)
Nice place
I have been a GoodLife member for over four years. I love this club! I would encourage anyone to join this club without hesitation.
Unfortunately the kids club is unsafe, they let some kids act in very aggressive manner without intervening or letting the parents know. I was very disappointed when I walked into 5-6 kids in a royal rumble and staff just watching them...I felt very uncomfortable leaving my kids there. I spoke to the staff as well as management about the situation and they were unclear as to what they would do if this were to happen again. jUMP should be a safe and happy environment with engaged staff...sadly this is not the case
South Park Location Terrible customer service from Lisa who rolled her eyes and sighed at my husband and I, as we spoke to her politely to rectify the situation. I forgot my key fob and wallet (ID) Lisa gave me no option but to refuse my entry into the gym. Upon speaking with another staff from the CLAREVIEW location while I stood there to figure it out on my own, I was told they could verify account information and take a photo for my account immediately, and bring ID in on the next visit. So if you have no photo on the account and you forgot your key fob there are two options 1. Showphoto ID 2. Take a photo immediately. Well Lisa only gave me option 1, which I did not have - as I spoke to Lisa to understand why there are no options, she rolled her eyes at me sighed and proceeded to use her cell phone and I stood there like an idiot. My husband and I have corporate memberships, we have been going to Gooodlife locationa in both Alberta and Ontario, and have referred many friends and family.... but never have we received this type of service. It is fine to try to follow policies and procedures, but attitude and ignoring a customer's question is unnecessary and rude. At the end, I had luckily left my work badge in the glove box. A work badge is not a form of photo ID but somehow after Lisa spoke to someone on the phone I was allowed to take my photo. How embarrassing to have me stand there for 20 minutes being refused entry to a gym and being partially ignored. No apologies from Lisa or politeness... only sighs, rolled eyes , and lack of patience or empathy.
Customer service wasn't good at the beginning. Slowly improving.
Love that its 24 hours very conveint and it has a womens side
It was so busy on family day yet they cant spring for two people working the desk? The girl seemed more interested in giggling at the guy she was helping then to help anyone else. She also helped me finally and put down the wrong time for tanning. Also if you go into tanning bed 1 and look up at the ceiling you should dust better. Defintely not excited about ever coming back here.
A very nice place good customer service.a good place to work out handy staff.
Clean gym. Great atmosphere. Recommend
Always very crowded
Pretty solid gym. It's pretty standard in a lot of ways. It has cardio, weights, etc. They attempted to create a small functional area, but it's just too small to really do anything. I've heard that they've added/are adding bumper plates and a lifting platform, so that's a step in the right direction.
Your average blue collar city gym. Well equipped but plenty of juice heads. The trainers are weak (as in they play literal fetch with their clients) and the membership staff have the handshake strength of a dead fish. Get in and get out and you're good.
Always closed early ! Supposed to be 24/7 closed early Friday and now again Saturday . So sick of this . I will be cancelling and going to full force
The gym is alright but felt that the staff was impolite.
Very hard-sell culture with Goodlife in general. Couple decent staff behind the counter, lots of new faces there every time I go, particularly with trainers. Found out they don’t pay their trainers for selling training packages, they only pay them after each training session and Goodlife only pays their trainers if they convince you to give up your bank account number!! What a scam, never give this outfit access to your bank account, even tho the poor trainers that do the work won’t actually get paid.
I go in to have a workout, not to go in and have the staff call me about literally every single issue that's even perceived to have gone wrong. In just one month at this place I've had to deal with more melodrama at this gym than in the several other times I've gone to a gym put together While there are some decent aspects to this place, location, variety of equipment lots of space. These though don't outweigh the melodrama and two-faced staff that are currently working there. Don't feel comfortable there. I got the impression that I was constantly being watched even though all I wanted to do was just work out. Switched locations and may just cancel membership altogether if this turns out to be something that happens all over the place.
Great gym, but it’s a circus around supper time.
I love this gym as it meets all of my needs. Lots of equipment, cardio machines etc. I love the hot yoga room. Always clean. Staff are friendly. One point of improvement would be to have adequate desk and phone coverage. I have been left standing at the desk for quite a while just to get a towel. No one seemed to notice or came to see what I needed ( I gave up waiting )as well, nobody answers the phone. Perhaps when staff have to leave the desk maybe they could be given a portable phone that immediately bypasses or forwards to his or her work phone? Otherwise, I would highly recommend this gym and location. Kind regards Tina Slater
Gets really busy sometimes
Excellent gym. Solid atmosphere, clean and great selection of equipment.
I've had nothing but great experiences at this location! Logan, the fitness manager, responds to emails quickly and super easy to get in contact with. As well, Emily is an amazing personal trainer who still follows up with me about my goals even though we aren't training together anymore. While I love that they have a women's only section, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that a lot of the machines in the women's section are out of order. Other than that, great facility :)
Big clean gym. Gets fairly busy around 5 pm as is expected but after peak hours Ive always had a very good experience.
I go to this gym daily and I love it. So big and spacious and there's everything thing you could ever need for an awesome workout, plus the staff are great!
Great location, usually not busy in the late evenings
Excellent ????
Good selection of equipment, but very pricey, often crowded, and can't compare to some of the boutique gyms in the city.
The weights are not organized.. kinda messy. Other than that friendly staff and polite
Gets a bit too busy and not enough parking during peak times
Decent equipment and very friendly and helpful staff
I tried few other gyms when I first moved here last December and I should say by far this is the best gym, not because of the equipment but because of the staff who work there, they are amazing!!

The massage chairs are not available while they could safely be utilized in their space.
Friendly staff nice facility
Would go here any day .
GoodLife Fitness is One my favourite gym,My favourite gym I worked out and meet people even though pandemic temporarily closure .
If you find this helpful, give it a thumbs up! Customer WiFi: Yes Washrooms: Yes Parking: Parking lot The Product(s)/Service: Really big gym with lots of space and a high ceiling. There are dry and wet saunas available as well as showers. Lots of group exercise rooms and equipment. Some of the equipment is pretty well used to the point of falling apart but there are usually a few others you can move to. Good amount of cleaning and water stations around so you dont really need to do a lot of searching for the important stuff. The People: Ok. So I just recently got a local membership at a goodlife near my house. A friend of mine wanted me to join him and try out this location with him seeing as I haven't gone in a while. We arrive at the gym at about 10 pm Oct 5, 2018 and the first thing that happens is the person up at the front desk snaps at me saying that I need to pay $5 and is really rude about it. Seeing as how I have never been at another location, I had no clue what the procedures were but thats no reason to be rude about it! So I pay the fee and fast forward to 11:15 pm. We finished our workout and shower and are sitting at the massage chairs and we see the same guy let his buddy in for free and give him a double thumbs up with a smile. Needless to say, I am not going back to this location any time soon or recommending it if this is how they treat people. If you found this helpful, let me know by leaving a thumbs up!
Favor this location over the downtown one, not as crowded. awesome, kind staff
Big gym surprisingly has more leg equipment then any of the other good life's gyms in town, if you want to have a good leg day south gate is your gym.
Clean facility with friendly staff. Well equipped ladies only area.
Good gym good services, nice staff.. havnt gone since covid but I can't wait to get back and get to regular classes without having to book in advance
Went there to join but staff (David ) was so rude..Terrible customer service. 0 star.
Good staff and lot of exercises
Good location needs better maintenance plan.
Finally has WIFI! The staff are always friendly and helpful. The facilities seem like they have recently been updated - I don't know if the carpet in the Women's Only has though. Great equipment and large change rooms. The classes are also great!
Nice gym. Newer equipment. Not too busy.
Terrible maintenance. Water is warm. Equipment is dirty. No supplies in change room. Commercials play over the loudspeaker 24/7. Won't be renewing.
This place is alright but maintenance is poor, Equipment would be out of service for WEEKS at a time ????
Current member since year 1 of this location and I always thought this to be family friendly. I was in the neighborhood with my nephew who needed to use bathroom. I explained that i'm bringing him in to use the bathroom and they refused to let him use the facility. So instead he peed himself. Poor customer service given to a long-time member! I feel foolish for having stayed loyal when other gyms opened up in the area. They claim "everybody is welcome" yet turn away a child who needed to use their facilities all because of bureaucratic nonsense and leaving him with lost dignity. They just couldn't extend a very simple courtesy to a long time client that the YMCA or any city gym location would readily offer. I am so disappointed with GoodLife South Park, I have made this place my home gym for years.
Little expensive but the water coming from the fountains tastes rancid
When I was working close to this gym I would come here on my lunch breaks. Great gym and people. Lots of space but like most gyms it's packed during rush hour.
I’ve been going to this gym now for five years, all the girls at the front Desk are extremely nice, friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend the body pump class at 6 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays which I go to both each week, the teacher Nathalie is awesome and makes it so much fun. She has so much energy it just keeps you wanting to keep going. You definitely need to these classes ????????
Very well maintained
Gets pretty busy at times but has enough to accommodate members during those times too. I frequent between this and the terwillegar dr one.
Great gym. Clean and nice staff
Great place, would have given 5 stars if they had a swimming pool. Great atmosphere, and always clean.
Nice facility and friendly staff. It's clean as well. I wanted to join after a trial membership ended and found it cost about $300 more a year to pay in full up front than to do payment. They really want your bank account information so bad that they will charge you a 30% penalty to pay when you join. We all know gyms make their money by people signing up then not going and until you cancel those payments keep coming out. At least it wasn't a hard sell like other places.
best gym in edmonton area
It's so noisy because of the people coming to no workout peoples. Their laughter is louder than the music. Some employees seem to think that it is their own home. I've been there for over 4 years, but I've never been more uncomfortable than now. before some staff came, this place was very peaceful. Where employees are noisy than customers.
my personal gym. lots of equipment
Great place! Lot of squat racks and cardioactive machines. Open 24/7. Friendly staff.
Friendly staff and some nice people.
Great equipment and staff. But at busy hours it can be more of a social club sometimes.
Very kind and knowledgeable staff and trainers. Would strongly recommend
I love this place not for the place but I have the BEST trainer. Go and see Robin and enjoy your work out
Truly awful company. Had to leave the country due to a pandemic 4 months ago. Have since emailed them SIX times to cancel my NO-COMMITMENT membership. Even tried cancelling through their app. Have not heard back once and am still getting charged every month. In fact, I was getting charged even when the gyms that I used to attend were still closed. Judging from the other 1 star reviews, I am not the only one this has happened to. Incredibly poor professional conduct. I will be leaving as many reviews on as many sites as I can to warn others away from this predatory business. If you believe in fairness and treating others with respect then I suggest you look elsewhere for a gym membership.
A bit old, but still good gym. ????
This gym is massive with lots of machines and space to work out. I prefer this location to others in the city, especially when I work out in the morning.
I quite like the facility and size of this location. It doesn't feel terribly crowded during the busy times. It could use a few more Stair Masters though. It doesn't smell as musty as the Millwoods location, which is a plus. However, the women's steam room seems to have been broken for quite sometime with no sign of repair. Parking is a pain during the busy times. I would suggest declining the LifeChanger if you are able to. It ended up being some misinformation and fear mongering. There was little to no personalizing which made for little useful recommendations (MAKING time to stretch throughout the day. I barely have time to eat lunch most days). Information was also contradictory at times (I was told that I should concentrate on strength training, but do cardio 3 times a week, and strength 2 times a week). It certainly was not a good experience for me even though I did get some good suggestions for sleep and decent tips for nutrition.
I wish I could give a zero-star rating. My boyfriend and I were up from Fort McMurray wanting to have a workout, so we inquired of how much a drop-in fee would be. Apparently they increased their drop in fee to $25 per person

A great gym overall--staff are always friendly--& the equipment is organized well. No deadlift platforms though so it can get loud when you lift.
I would give the place a 0 if I could. Today there was a class with like 3 people in it in the studio . Tones of space to Do my own thing in the corner . I did two sets of my workout till The women on the microphone yells at me infront of everyone to tell me I can't be there Awful attitude from this staff member . And to top it all off the manager of this location was Taking this class. Heard the wy this instructor yelled at me and didn't do anything about it. My contract is up soon and I'm getting the hell out of here ! Rude rude rude
Disappointing customer service and a dirty gym. GoodLife on Calgary trail could be a nice gym to workout at but, it's not. The gym is always dirty, more so the men's change room it's always dirty and damp. Toilets always full and backed up and everything is covered in a thick layer of mildew, feels like a place to catch something. When with some work could be a decent change room to get ready for your day after some time at the gym. The staff are under educated in fitness. Witnessesed more then once a personal trainer eating suckers and candy well training a client. Are you kidding me please figure out how to be professional. The staff at the front desk needs help to do basic skills like read a calendar or even the staff schedule to tell you when a manager might be in to help you with questions that the staff has no clue about how to answer. The mangers are slight more helpful then the brain dead staff but just slightly. They can at least read a calendar and the company policy back to you when you have membership question but don't expect much more then that From GoodLife. Pay more money to visit a private gym with educated professional staff you'll be a lot happier with your experience then being told to pedal faster well your trainer sucks on a sucker in your face.
Great location,
Good staff Good equipment. So far the most expensive gym I've looked into. Charges 80 for signing up, charges 100 for a cancellation. For the middle subscription, you pay 45 monthly. Not happy with the prices. Other gyms will be more inviting then this one.
Clean and friendly staff.
I have been coming at this location from Years. Their customer service is always exceptional. The girl who works at the night is always very friendly and helpful. This locations environment makes it suitable for a great workout.
Great place, well maintained and equipped, staff are friendly and helpful specially Waleed he is a great guy.
Good gym clean and lots of machines you can work out freely with alot of space and cleaning stations everywhere. Only thing I don't like is when you go late at night sometimes the cleaning staff doesn't announce their coming in that needs to be handled other than that staff is kind and helpful!
Too busy but better place to gym
best place
Great place to be all the time☺☺
Love the turf, sled and rope area. Change rooms are huge and well kept. Steam and sauna rooms are great. Well Kept, well equipped gym. I travel to visit this gym... It's that good.
Great but always busy and no wonder because this is the only place in South Edmonton thats operate 24hours from Monday to Sunday.
I attended hot yoga today and when I walked into the studio, every single person including the instructor was talking and laughing. From my experience at other yoga studios, I was under the impression that the studio is a no talking zone. It was the exact opposite of relaxing and after the practice I left annoyed and disappointed. I highly recommend practicing elsewhere. I'd give this zero stars if I could.
Awesome gym, good selection of memberships and great perks if you go for the 60 a month (towel service, tanning, group fitness and hot yoga). There's also saunas, steamrooms and massage chairs. The only thing I will say that I really did NOT enjoy was the light system in the hot yoga room, the instructor turned on all of the what seemed like florescent lights. They did not feel pleasant or ambient, how a yoga room should feel. It kind of ruined my whole experience.
Facility is clean, machines are generally in good repair, and the staff are polite and friendly. Peak hours can be quite busy, but not as bad as many gyms
Great
was looking forward to gyms reopening but it is like a sauna in there…there is no ac…cant imagine what next week like when it is +30…clocks are still an hour behind from day light savings 3 months ago…so much for taking care of things while gyms were closed…
A very nice gym, has a lot of equipment and it's not as crowded as other gyms. Totally recommended
All of the staff are super friendly and accommodating. It was effortless to sign up for a membership and they offer great discounts through certain work places!
Decent
Plenty of equipment
I’ve been coming here for 5 months now and I have to say, it’s super clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the machines are all fantastic. Not really sure what all the 1 star reviews are about. I think this place is great! The COVID measures and extra cleaners they have hired are also super comforting.
Frustrated with a recent experience. Been a member here for around 2 years now. Decided to try personal training to get more out of my workouts. Tried just two sessions at first to see if it was right for me. I decided to get four more. I planned to continue on with 4 sessions a month until I felt like I didnt need the help anymore. Things were going great until my trainer left goodlife. He told I should contact them and they will help me find a new trainer and honor my remaining two sessions. I called twice and couldn't get a hold of Fraser so I decided to talk to him in person. Found him at the gym and he informed me that someone would be in contact with me that week. I waited almost two weeks and no one contacted me. I decided to try to call again and see what was up. I got through to him and he told me I only had one session left?! That confused me... since I was positive I had two left and I discussed it with my previous trainer the day he left via text (I have screen shots). He told me that the trainer may have charged me for the session and that he wasn't sure what was up. There was a 30 second awkward silence and I finally said I guess ill call him and figure out what's up. Not sure why its my responsibility to contact his previous employee to investigate this. I understand that i didn't commit to a year of personal training up front, but my time and money is valuable, to me at least. You can keep my 150 for those two sessions, I'm not going to waste my time any longer when you guys clearly don't care. Consider my membership cancelled 0/5 stars
Usually clean. Friendly staff. Plenty of equipment and room.
Favourite location by far. Always clean and the staff is friendly. I've never had a hard time finding free equipment. I mostly go for hot yoga and the teachers are always great. I wish they would offer more yoga times but I'm sure if it got more popular they would.
5 OUT OF 5!!!!!!!!
Was bullied by agent Lisa because of people wearing disgusting perfume and now showering before going into the sauna. Not all people get the same rights here. Enjoy bankruptcy.
Switched over from a different gym almost a year ago and love it. Both the day and overnight staff are awesome and friendly, always striking up conversation with me and showing interest in my training goals. Facility is clean with lots of equipment, rarely find myself waiting to use a machine unless it's rush hour in the evening. I love using my guest passes to bring friends with me.
I love this gym! The hours are great, the staff is super helpful and friendly, and they have loads of equipments/classes. I highly reccomend this location to those who want to get their mobility back and have a summer body year round!
Terrible customer service
I was in the middle of a pull-up in the ‘personal training’ section and tall male trainer approached me, tapped me and told me to leave, I understand this section is for people that pay a premium but this employee was very rude about it, I’ve been a good life member for over 10 years and never been talked to like that by an GoodLife employee
Do they ever do maintenance on this dump?
Goodlife fitness says you can transfer your membership in the event of a change of circumstances. But they don't tell you that the person you want to transfer to will have to sign their own new term. So good luck trying to find someone to take over your contract if things change... Liars!
Great Group Fitness Class with Alexandra! Super motivational and friendly, definitely will be back.
NOT COVID SAFE!!!! Had a chat with the front desk over the weekend and the staff working there DOESNT need to be VACCINATED to be WORKING IN THE FACILITY meanwhile us working in the AHS will be potentially losing our jobs from not being vaccinated!! Not fair for the gym goers that get turned away from not being vaccinated when not the same rules for there own staff!!
Customer service is terrible
Love the staff. It does get really busy in the evenings just after work.
Worst people I tried to take over contract and another club said yes but this place's staff name Kyle Malley gave bad attitude and said no
Renee is a GOD SENT. I called good life multiple times within a half hour span bc I realized I had left my AirPods at the gym the night before, in which she answered every time. Each call she was so genuine and nonjudgemental and she was never annoyed with me which I am so grateful for. She was more than willing to check the lockers for me more than once and I am so grateful for all her help. Thankfully she found my AirPods for me but even if they had been stolen I would still have been so grateful for her kindness and patience with me at such an early time in the day! Thank you, Renee!
Has all the basic equipment that I need for a workout.
It’s really the biggest gym in Edmonton area
Frankly, this location sucks and mostly because of the people who work there. I would use the daycare for my twins. I walked in once to one of my girls eating her own vomit (spit up) off the floor, on a different occasion I walked in on one of the workers sitting on her a** kicking toys at the kids instead of interacting with them, and the straw that broke the camels back is when one of my girls ended up with cdiff and in the hospital for 7 days in quarantine. The only place we could think that she could of gotten it from is their crappy child care area. When I brought all of this up with one of the girls at the front, she literally said "oh, yeah" . Not a sorry or do you want to speak with the manager... When my husband and I decided to cancel our memberships we both got the run around and it took us a month each to be able to cancel them.
Large open gym with multiple machines and fitness classes. Clean change rooms and showers. Some equipment should be updated to keep up with the quality of other GoodLife gyms in the city.
The girl who works in night shift is such a sweetheart. She is so helpful. Great place to workout! Totally recommend this place
Got a 3 free trial pass here as I was debating purchasing membership, was not told that you had to use the sessions 3 days consecutively. Went in a few days after my first session and staff would not let me use my trials. Not great customer service, won't be buying membership here.
I'm used to the small GoodLife fitness centers in downtown Toronto. So, I love how big and spacious this place is! It's also got plenty of equipment and weights. I've never had to wait around for a machine or weights even once at this place. Love it!
I have my membership with Good Life for few years and took my daughter with me today to her show around the gym and they want me to pay $25 for a drop in. I am very disappointed because LA Fitness across the street only charge $15.
I am not impressed whatsoever with Goodlife Fitness. I will never become a member again and I have told everyone I know not to as well. I paid into my membership for over 3 years even after my contract was up. They keep taking your money after your contract is up, when you try to cancel, they are all too busy to make an appt for that and I don't understand why you would have to go down there to talk to someone anyway. Even after you put a stop pmt on your monthly membership, they keep racking up your bill and send you to collections. It is a scam and they don't care!!!! NEVER SIGN UP WITH GOODLIFE FITNESS, THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!!!!
Best GoodLife fitness! I drive from the west end just because it’s the only 24 hour one now.
Wow I can't believe all the negative reviews on this site. I don't think the facility deserves all this bad press. I've been working out for more than 40 years, I'm 65 now, and I was tired of the YMCA. I know what I'm doing in a weight room and I just need a good facility. I wanted a place that was more focussed on resistance training and a more adult clientele, without being full of people just there to have conversations. For me, comparing this place to the UofA where I worked and worked out for more than three decades, where the machines were always broken and crazily busy, and going to the Y where the machines were similarly poorly maintained and often in use by people who had no clue what they were doing, it was for me much more inspirational to come to a place with lots of machines, decent free weights, a clean locker room, and reasonably fit people, mostly there to work out. Maybe there are better places, I really can't say, but the price was reasonable for the product, the place is accessible for me, there's a good mix of clientele, and I'm satisfied.
Literally always busy, when staff is behind the counter you have to wait forever till they notice you so you can scan in. They never answer their phone. Trying to cancel a membership is ridiculous. Very expensive for the limited perks you get.
I like this gym at least it has wifi unlike the Terweillger Good Life and its open 24 hours as advertised. But I have to say, some people at this gym are so annoying, you know who I am talking about. The people who come up to you and say "hey how many more sets do you have" or "are you done yet". Usually I say I have a "few more sets". These people then stand around and pretend not to not watch you until you finish. It is so annoying, their presence is unconsciously pressuring you to finish faster. But usually out of spite I take extra long to finish so they can wait longer since they are so rude. Girls and guys tend to ask me "are you done yet" instead of bigger muscular guys that have been on the machine for way longer than me because I'm a small brown girl and less intimidating than a big muscular guy. What cowards ! --- Because honestly when people ask "hey how many more sets do you have" or "are you done yet" they are basically saying "HURRY UP". Goodlife should put up posters on their walls telling people not to ask "how many more sets do you have" or "are you done yet" as a funny joke.
24 hour location with tons of space to workout even when busy, this location does have turf and an inclosed all women's gym area, when no classes are on the spin room and class area are open for workouts. Staff are generally respectful, haven't had any major issues. My one issue with this location is that all of the cables (aside from cross cables and stand alones) are doubles, which shift the weight of rows and lat pulldowns when using a single hook, really sucks when lifting heavier weight as you don't want to work one side harder than the other. Other than that, it's a good location that has massage chairs and tanning booths on location and 24hr staff.
Have been with Good Life for a few years. It's well managed.
Indian girl who works reception on night shift is probably one of the rudest staff I have ever encountered.
This place does NOT serve its customers well! They let people in who do NOT pay for a gym pass and they are using equipment that was intended for paying customers and they snicker at you because they didn't pay!
too crowded, not my favorite.
Great place to workout. Friendly staff especially the manager is great. They have child minding so me and my wife can workout together. And last but not the least Hot Yoga is the best...
I have been going to this gym since they opened. Facility was nice but management does a horrible job in maintaining it. In two weeks I have stopped 4 times to let them know about lights in Ladies workout room being completely out ( 4 panels , each has 2 neon lamps). The forth time (on Friday) front desk girl's attitude when I reminded her it was the fourth time I am bringing this to their attention was like "why are you frustrated". Yesterday late afternoon I stopped for a workout and it is still pretty dark in that room. I wonder how much time and money is to replace 8 lamps. I am strongly considering switching gyms. Steam room door is broken and out of service for a while and probably it will be like this for another year. We are paying fees for a facility that is going downhill. They do not care.
Horrible customer service. CANCELLED my gym membership 1 year ago during covid due to the scheduling issues they had and having only an hour to workout. Later finding out someone had instead decided to freeze my account without my consent to freeze instead of cancel. 3 payments later and i’m out 100$ because of staff negligence. Glad that a company like this can just take money and not care about mistakes like this. Havent showed up to the gym once that I apparently paid for. Glad i cancelled goodlife. Id recommend LA fitness atleast they do their due diligence and take care of the gym goers.
This place dont tell you your membership has a expire date when i got a 3 day pass and only used it one time because they said was only valid for 7 days when i tried to use it again for the 2 time but i get busy with work and can only go 1 time a week. This place also a little dirty. very upset.
This gym is very close to my home, hence close to my heart as well. I like the staff and when it comes to COVID 19 measures, they are on top of it !!!
Can we get rid of the girl that works nights already? I dont know why you guys pay her to follow her boyfriend around all night. I'm there every night and rarely see her at the desk.
Nice staff answered all my questions
The gym has a wide range of equipment; however, it is definitely showing it's age as everything seems to be well worn. The washrooms could be considerably cleaner as they are always in disarray; garbages aren't emptied often; floors are disgustingly wet, soap is often empty, lockers are filthy, and ventilation is poor (it's so bad it has to be broken?). Unnecessarily expensive considering this does not feel like a "premium" gym anymore.
Best gym in town. I like the fact that it’s Canadian.
Location could be better.
benches either dont have weights or plates all over the place and some machines stick other then that your standard gym fiance saw one of the old looking trainers and front desk (karen or erin? the one u usually see outside smoking if you go during afternoon) going at it in the back of a gold minivan last week outside the gym mid day! ahah
Terrible customer service. I have been trying to cancel my membership and settle my bill with them for over 6 months now. No one replies to any email I send, and they keep sending me an invoice threatening to take legal action. IM HAPPY TO PAY MY BILL, I JUST WANT TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP!!!!
This business should be embarrassed by the amount of garbage is outside of it.
Came in 2 days after I first bought my ultimate membership and a short woman with dark hair, I didn’t get her name, told me that I wasn’t allowed to bring my brother in with me regardless of what membership I had because apparently they didn’t do Family Add Ons anymore and that if my brother wanted to join me, he had to either pay $25 for the session, or she could also offer him a free session, or he would have to buy his own membership. However, I called the same location the following day to ask if they still did it and I was told that they DO STILL do it. I don’t know why that lady at the desk lied to me, but I did go home very disappointed and worried that I would have had to spend a ton more money just to get my little brother in. Thank god that whoever was on the phone with me the following day clarified a few things for me! I will be coming in to sort out the family add ons.
I was at the gym earlier this evening around 6:30PM: it was my first time back since the gyms reopened. The blonde girl working at the front was incredibly snarky. Her tone was extremely condescending and incredibly rude: it made me want to leave. I understand it’s covid, but you can atleast try to be nice when addressing members. Disappointing. There’s other staff there that is nice, sucks when one person ruins it for everyone.
Good place for work out ????
This gym is a joke. So many restrictions on equipment like the kettle bells and trx, the heavy bag or even the separate gymnasium room, I wanted to skip in the corner while a trainer had a class of two people and she told me I wasn't allowed because they needed the full room, legit 2 people! complete bs. I've never gone to such a terrible gym, and I will definitely not renew!
Saleyo Its a gym that why i love it.
Horrible customer service. Tried to cancel my membership due to the pandemic, and was told I could only do it over the phone with the corporate number. Called 3 times a day for a month and still haven’t been able to get through. They did not reply to my online messages. They continued to charge me, and I was told over the phone by an employee at this location I could only cancel if I came to the gym, or got through to the corporate number. As a frontline healthcare worker I am not going to the gym at this time and was extremely disappointed with these options. Eventually a manager cancelled my membership, but now is refusing to refund me. Please avoid this company/gym at all costs!
Management is unqualified to manage gym. End of story
One of the best gyms out there. I really like that it’s true 24/7 and it’s Canadian Company.
mornings are more busy then other locations gets crowded especially in the females room girlfriends and i enjoy the classes ! good to see jesse aka robin i guess (: doing well didnt know this was ur side hustle but glad to see u enjoying it hands down one of the better male dancers in the entertainment business keep it up ... recomend xoxo
One of the best goodlifes I’ve been to and I have been to MANY! It’s huge with all the equipment you could want.
Not 24 hours. I Don't care if it's a holiday, if you say it is 24 hours find a way to make it happen or don't say it is 24 hours. Even says on Google right now they are open and the doors are locked.
Favourite gym in Edmonton. Actually a 24 hour gym even on the weekends, convenient location, natural lighting, high ceilings, motivating vibe for people who actually are there to train hard. Never waiting for machines as there are multiple machines of the same type. The staff are super friendly. The machines are always up to par, never broken!
Good place
Good gym with lots of equipment.
Machines Always on good shape
Good customer service
I have been coming to this gym on and off for 2 years. There have been times where I've forgotten my key fob and have had no problem getting in with just providing my phone number. Today my wife forgot her key fob and provided her phone number but an employee by the name of LISA refused to let her in. We asked her to call the manager but she refused and proceeded to use her cellphone and ignored us as we spoke to her. We ended up calling another goodlife and the associate there said that LISA should not be refusing us entry and would give her a call. Upon receiving a phone call LISA let my wife in and still had a lot of attitude with no apology whatsoever. Both my wife and I have corporate memberships with goodlife and have referred over 20 people who have become members. Very disappointed and disgusted with the treatment we received.
Customer service at the front desk was rude. Half the treadmills had error codes and wouldn't work. Gym smelt terrible, even for a gym. Change rooms where dirty and smelt even worse. A bunch of barbells and dumb bells were missing completely. Bench presses missing weight spring clips and weights all over the place and mixed together. The guy working the front desk should have been cleaning up a bit instead of reading on the computer. I travel for work often and this is by far the worst Goodlife experience I've had.
unprofessional lady who was selling me membership at a very high price.
Good place to work out. Lots of duplicate machines and a large free weight area. Lost my pants though.
I had spa lady and good life in mind and wanted the compare the differences. I met Shelley Kelso, the general manager, instead of selling me the plan or start walk around the gym. she took the time to get to know me and my fitness goal. She stayed in touch and try to find me the personal trainer that fits my need. I really appreciate her service and that’s mainly why I picked GoodLife. I only join the gym for 2 weeks, so far the experiences are all positive. Hope it will keep that way.
A really big shout out goes to Mark the general manager at this location. Super kind and genuine customer service. The trainers, front desk staff and facility as a whole deserves the highest accolades. Keep up the amazing work and we will refer all our friends, family and co-workers to this specific location. Thank you so much or the kind treatment✨
I've always had great experiences here. Tons of equipment and friendly staff. Today I went and noticed I had a flat tire, the GM, Mark was so kind and helped me change it. A HUGE thanks to him for personally coming outside and changing it himself. He made sure that everything was save for me to drive it. I will continue to go to this gym. Thanks again, Mark!
After more than five years of loyal customer to this location time to find a new gym. I discussed my issue with manager but seems he don't care at all.my suggestion to club hire mature staff other wise keep loosing business because of the unprofessional staff. Edited 21 nov 2020 -As a law abiding citizens, i do understand that we have to follow certain health guidelines in this pandemic. Some of the staff been micro managing all the gym members very badly compared to other staff members and if we argue with them, then they go onto scare us to call police (so they did call on one of the member in gym I saw other day) or cancel our gym membership.Couple days ago good life app doesn't work so I tried to call the staff several time between (12 to 5pm) to book any spot available between (6 to 7pm) or (7.30 to 8.30 pm) & one of there front desk operator over the phone told me to keep trying because she's to lazy to keep my name in row for next availability,if anyone canceled. I tried to explain her my work situation but she ignored. I felt like good life is paying me to go to gym.
It's a alright gym, needs a good cleaning in the men's washroom. Also could use a handyman to fix all the broken stuff.
switched here from Goodlife Clairview and honestly.... super disappointed :( the gym ettiequte is non-existent, the weights are a mess, people leaving attachments for cables everywhere, see several people a day not wipe down the equipment after using it! disgusting. Also the staff... seem super lazy whenever I walk in or out the front desk people are usually on their phones and don't acknowledge their members coming or going. Also fail to change paper towel when most paper towel dispensers are empty and the garbage cans will literally be overflowing and have paper towel on the floor around it. Coming from Goodlife Clairview I had some pretty high standards, the gym there is always spotless you never see attachments cluttered around cables or garbage cans over flowing because the staff is walking around and cleaning the staff is absolutely phenomenal and friendly they never fail to greet you or say goodbye you could be halfway out the door and they will still yell goodbye to you.
Have a ladies only section which I've heard is pretty good. The main area is hit or miss, only 3 squat racks but a good diversity of machines.
Always a little busy. There is an over abundance of cable equipment. Chances are if your gym is missing handles, ropes or bars they may be here
Goodlife is awesome! So many machines and group fitness classes! I won't be switching gyms anytime soon :)
Friendly staff, lots of equipment variety to use. Downfall is I find some cardio machines are outdated or broken when I go to user them.
Clean, well maintained equipment especially during busy peak time. Only part I dont like about is mirror in women washroom. It is too over distracting, where at times I keep running into corner mirror walls at certain angle. ????
Pros: -Large Gym -Women's Only Section -Hot Yoga (I especially love Frank's 7:30 Monday class!!! Most fun and relaxing class I've ever attended, major props! ) Cons: -Staff rarely acknowledges you when coming or going -Machines are fairly worn out -Untidy I sometimes wonder how often the club tidies up. I went Saturday afternoon and there was garbage on one of the cable attachment holders in Women's Only...came in again on Monday afternoon and the SAME GARBAGE was there and hadn't moved an inch. Overall, I like the location and amenities South Park offers, but would appreciate more effort in cleanliness. :)
I went to this location on boxing day, the hours online said it was open till 12, a women working there with a very rude tone told me at 7:53 that it's time to go. I asked her why it was posted online they where open till 12, she rudely ignored me and walked away. I then showed her on my phone the hours online and said you dont have to be so rude to me. Her response "that wasn't rude, you want to see rude" the woman then proceeded to say "what" multiple times cutting me off as if she was threatening me again. I quickly realized that this woman had no consideration for customer service and left disgusted. My membership contract is up at the end of the month and dont think I'll renew it this year.
Great place to go if you don’t like wearing a mask . No one wears their masks during the overnight period as required and staff on duty do nothing to enforce it . The gym itself is probably the best GoodLife in town .
Great facilities and staff !
Friendly staff. Lots of weights, treadmills
Go to millwoods GoodLife if you can... This location is poorly set up and the staff seems lazy and uneducated..
I've been a member since before they opened the doors. I love love love love my gym. They're there when things need a fixing, or if you have any questions everyone at the front is polite and professional. All the questions get answered andand if they don't have an answer, they'll find one. Couldn't pay me to go to another gym.
Great gym, never to busy, lots of variety of work out equipment. The staff do a remarkable job of ensuring to greet you as you walk in. I was surprised that they knew me by my first name. Excellent Customer Service.
This place has the potential to be a 4 or 5 star for but unfortunately the front desk staff goes out of their way to hold everyone up at the gate, even taking it to the next step .... For example, myself and my daughter, aged 16 and a full member, get to the club and give our info to scan in, I ask for a yoga token for her since we're 15 min early, to be told outright my daughter is too young for any of the hot services including tanning. I replied I didn't want tanning and that's odd as she's been to hot yoga w my ex at several other clubs, including the one we were at just last week. For her to go on and on about the club insurance policy and how she's a stickler for the rules and how it makes her mad that everyone else just let's people in and need to be retrained to do things the right way.... Then proceeded to go to her manager to return and say, nope no one under 18 allowed.... As I turn to tell my daughter we have a problem the club manager comes over and says oh the age is actually 16.... So Erin looks dumbfounded and says we will need to sign forms, as my daughter says I've filled these out last week w my mom. If you plan to state company policy, make sure you know what it is. All and all they let her do the class for free, but we got delayed at the front by someone for absolutely no reason, making her 10 min late for class and then I continued to watch her delay several other members coming in after us... I've been to almost all the goodlife in town and this one has the soup natzi running the desk during prime time.... Plan accordingly.
there is a guy his name is vaneet or something like that. he is so rude with me. he did not allow me to enter. i have two year membership and that guy ask me for my ID. i didnt have ID on that day. I am going to goodlife from last 5-6 month. he didnt allow me and some other 5-6 member to enter there. All the member were so disappointed with that bald guy.
Signed up today thinking there’s a punching bag hanging there since I saw the picture on Google, went there was told the punching bag removed because of COVID, hoping it gets put bag soon, as that’s the reason I signed up. Other than that the gym is big and the staffs are friendly. Would definitely give 5 starts if the punching bag hung.
Great layout!
Closed for 3 months and equipment is still out of order...
Very good customer service.
