Absolute Worst Service and Experience I've had. Bad Customer Service. Does not Reply/follow up. Overfilled. Doublebilling. - Multiple double billings/extra charges/late charges even though everything was paid on time automatically. Talked to 4 front end staff and was told something different every time. - Told my account was cancelled and later found out months later through their collections/ABC that it was active, they had just deleted all my account/card information so the charges weren't going through. - Gym itself would be nice if equipment wasn't so jammed in that you have to stop mid set to let someone walk in front of you without hitting them while on the leg extension etc. The main dumbbells are all crammed in the corner. Also not enough cable attachments. - Was told there was a Womens only rom being built at the time I joined, there is not. - Staff and members do not seem to care about public health standards. -Male employee was in Womens washroom chatting with female employee as she restocked TP. - After trying for 5 months to get ahold of the manager, Ryan, to resolve my "cancelled" account issues with no reply except from a robot employee to say I had to come in and pay to have it cancelled again as well as pay the balance that had been accumulating. - New manager, Diego, gave me a good offer to stay with Gold's and officially clear/delete my old account. I tried to contact him to go ahead with the new account 4 times over a month with no reply. When I called in (5th contact attempt) to ensure my old account was closed and get cancellation confirmation, he did not seem to remember me from our hour long conversation, did not seem to have gotten any of my messages, and told me he was not able to give me any proof of cancellation. Very disappointing as I have always loved going to the gym and this location/hours would have been very convenient for me. Update: Account finally closed.

Also had a fitness assessment with Claudia! She is very intelligent and helpful. Trained me with correcting form and some corrective action for my shifted pelvis. Honestly very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about her job! The hour went by too fast! Thank you!

Signed up around spring. The guy who got me to sign up convinced me to get the platinum membership so i can use the platinum room. I have to pay $14 more monthly. Then i found out everyone gets access to platinum room as it has no key fob. Its open to everyone. He promised me that their 2 hot tubs will be readily available soon. Now it is october and still has not been set up. Yah and they are not abiding on AHS policy regards to COVID19 in many different ways. Im not acting like a Karen but really I would like to change my membership to the bare mininum coz whether i pay for platinum or not, im getting the same benefit and no hot tub. And by the way, they only have 1 weighing scale which was broken for 2 weeks. Not sure now if they have replaced or fixed it. I have not been back for a week coz if you wana get covid, this is the place to be.

My experience at golds gym has been nothing but professional quality and good communication from staff. Especially Veronica and Kelly who are the owners, they play an integral role in every persons ability to be healthier and to be more motivated. These two Owners are always making sure that everyone is treated like family. Veronica is straight forward honest person she will tell you the truth and she will make sure that you will succeed in doing what you need to do to get healthier and that goes the same for Kelly he is always saying HI always making sure that people are taking care of it is truly like a family there. When you sign up it’s a family there’s no worry of having to be intimidated by others it truly is a gym that cares for its members. Full disclosure I get nothing out of this nor am I getting paid for this this is my own opinion based on what I have experienced at golds gym Calgary. The staff at Gold’s Especially at Douglasdale are top notch professionals If you’re looking for a gym membership I will consider golds gym

Joined a few days ago and I have nothing but positive to say about all the staff I have dealt with, the desk staff are extremely patient and helpful, answering all my questions with kindness and a great attitude. A refreshing change from past experiences with some Gym environments in general. There was no pressure just lots of support. I hope the Covid changing protocols won't affect access to the Gym and all the mental and physical benefits that support us all right now !!

I had my first 1-1 session with Melissa and I thought it was great! We did a full body workout and by the end of the session I burned around 800 calories. She definitely pushed me harder than I would've working out on my own. Would recommend her as a personal trainer if you want an intense workout!

Been a part of a lot of different gym brands in both Ontario and Alberta, either as a member or as a trial. Gold's is definitely up there. 365 days, 24/7. Those are magic words to a dedicated gym participant. It's pricey but it's worth it. This location specifically is fantastic. Can't really think of anything negative to say. Genuinely recommend this over any other gym, hands down. Grind on!

Update; I was contacted by a social media rep regarding my review and scheduled a meeting and she canceled. I emailed her back and still a month later has not bothered to get in touch with me or reschedule. The issues still stand and nothing has been done to correct or rectify the issues. Ironically Northgate is the best location in the city. It is a very well set up gym but I find the cleanliness of this place is seriously wanting. My brother and I wanted to use the steam room and we could not because guys had urinated all throughout the steam room. This happened around 9:00 p.m. October 20th 2021. We informed the attendant and the attendant said he could not or would not clean it. We asked for a hose to clean it ourselves. Subsequently he brought us the pressure washer which we could not use because the hose attachment has a lock up system that's joined into the wall. It was pretty gross because as soon as we opened the door to the steam room we both almost threw up because of the stench of urine. I tried to phone management the next day and they never got back to me even though they said they would call me back. It begs the question what is the use in having a platinum membership to use the steam room if guys are busy using it as a toilet? Gross????????????????

My husband and I joined Gold's Gym Douglas Dale in the spring. We have had issues with our account set up since then. I want to thank Rock for being the first out of several visits between the two of us being checked in to look into our account and resolve the banking error happening. You were the first to truly know what was wrong and to treat me kindly during check in as a Client Support staff member. And shout out to Zack for the same response. I know as a business owner that the back office can be a nightmare but you both dealt with it kindly.

You CANNOT beat this gym. The owner has really outdone himself. All new top of the line Pannata, Hoist, Precor. It is a blessing to get to workout at Gold's. There is a FULL sized court for basketball, floor hockey, badminton and volleyball. Also coming soon are spas with fitness pools and Hot Tubs complete with TV's to kick back and wind down after a tiring workout! Men and women will both have their own private spa area.

Their equipment also deserves some attention as it is newer and good quality. Claudia also provides a complimentary fitness assessment so you know what aspects o f your body specifically need improvement.

I like the gym it’s good but no elliptical machines at all it’s basically step mill or treadmill .. there is 4 other kinda elliptical machines and 2 that are absolutely unusable just can’t figure them out at all .and I been going gym since the 80s . if someone is using one of the kinda elliptical you feel weird using next door cause of mask issue ... pls put some elliptical machines in .

Wanted a gym membership, signed up for one at the front desk and I was not told about the $200 cancellation fee until AFTER I gave them my credit card information. Now proof of vaccination is not a requirement to enter and I am a frontline worker, working with vulnerable population. Getting Covid-19 was not in the contract I signed. The gym is still forcing me to pay $200 to cancel the membership regardless of the circumstances. So, now I am stuck paying for an antivax gym membership that I will not be using anymore. Do yourself a favour and spend your money elsewhere.

I started going to GOLDS in Douglasdale with a few friends late last year. I was blown away by the open atmosphere, and GREAT SERVICE!! THis is NOT a gym full of "meat heads". Everyone that work there is so nice, and accomodating. My experience was so good that I decided to get a trainer and REALLY get healthy. My trainer is Luke, and he is fantastic. He really listens to me, and what i am looking to do. Even when i told him my weight was dropping due to mental Illness, he was very concerned for me, and adjusted my workouts accordingly. He gives me great advice for eating healthy, and we just have a GREAT TIME together. I never pictured myself laughing during Leg Day... but there I am, having the best time! Even the owner is super frienly and recognizes me when Im there. When I go by myself, all the trainers are more than willing to help me with my form, and make sure Im doing the moves correctly. Joining GOLDS was the BEST decision I have made in the last 5 years!!! I cant say enough great things about Luke and GOLDS Gym in Douglasdale. IF you are on the fence about getting healthy... WAIT NO MORE and go RIGHT NOW!!!!!

I love the gym. Great equipment and lots of it. My only beef is that the music is played way too loud especially early mornings. Sometimes I have to turn my music on full blast and even then I can still hear the gym's music. By the time I am done my workout I have a headache. All I am asking is for the music to be turned down a bit so that I can listen to my music. Thank You

I really like this gym because they have new equipments that most gyms do not have and their hours are great. The reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because of their covid protocols. I was here on a Friday and no one was wearing a mask or they were wearing one but it's on their chin. I thought it was a bit extreme. I also work out at Goodlife and everyone wears a mask at all times (yes, while working out) and I really appreciate that. I wish Gold's would do something about it because safety should be their #1 priority, especially right now.

I used to be member but I transferred my membership 2 month ago, June 10th but still keep charging me bi weekly. I transferred my membership to my friend and still keep charging him too, while I filled form for membership transfer and the Asian guy who worked there said that you will be done in one week and here I am after 8 weeks still keep paying. Absolutely disgustingly dirty. EVERYWHERE. Toilet paper and used needles on the the bathroom floor, no one wiping down their machines, and clear signs that cleaning happens once in a blue moon, if ever. The staff was nasty and rude, and Gold's is horribly overpriced. I wouldn't let my worst enemy work out here - they might get flesh eating disease from the machines, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
