The most spacious, best lit (ceiling to knee window panes on three sides) ATF in Edmonton, just North of the overpass over Whitemud on 50th street. Aside from being super accessible this location is industrial park and sparsely populated after suppertime. They have three lifting cages AND a Smith Machine. And I've never seen anyone waiting for cardio machines full at any time of day. Did I mention that the AquaFrixio(tm) massage table that is almost never in use? But if you need a real live RMT, we also get a discount on therapeutic massage at the clinic next door. Plenty of tradespeople come here to stay fit for work and are mostly very friendly and supportive of beginners. I vastly improved my front squat technique here through coaching from another member. There are also two very healthy restaurant options in the plaza to fuel a strenuous workout. Joy's Cafe makes everything to order from scratch with love and plenty of fresh veggies in serving a fusion of Korean and Western cuisine but is price competitive with fast food. Best of ATF club in Edmonton but only because Allendale doesn't yet have a heavy bag, heh!

My husband and I checked out a few gyms before deciding on joining Anytime. It was an easy decision. They are clean, open 24/7, not crowded, never need to wait for a machine, each machine has their own spray bottle and cloth (which are regularly washed), machines are ALWAYS in working order, TV/Netflix set up on the cardio equipment, tanning bed, red light therapy, water massage bed (so warm, a great after workout treat), clean bathrooms (4 in total, 2 with showers), boot racks, coat racks, shoe horn (yes this is important with winter shoes) and it goes on and on. Nice people attending the gym as well. Everyone keeps to themselves from what I’ve seen and are focused on their workout. Some gyms have a lot of “people watchers”, which is horribly uncomfortable when you are a newbie after years of not being at the gym. When we were first trying the gym on a free one week trial, the lady who signed us up asked us to come during staffed hours and when I texted in asking what hours the gym was staffed on a Saturday, I got the owner and he very kindly offered to buzz us in. All staff, especially the owner, are always willing to help. Absolutely nothing bad to say!

During covid they put a water fountain that you have to touch to get water. Before they had a touch less one.... umm okay. Then our car gets broken into stuff stolen. We call the head owner and he tells us we can not access then gym and to replace this fob is $50 each. Even when staff are working ... when they could just sign us in? He fires staff like people are disposable. He’s heartless. I wouldn’t recommend coming here. I also wouldn’t recommend working there. Also the bathrooms always smell like someone peed on the floors ????

I was working out at the Kingsway location and prefer this one way more. The gym is bigger, has a more variety of equipment and I don't feel so cramped. The added amenities like tanning, massage bed and red light therapy are also huge bonuses. Whenever I am there, the staff is always friendly and ALWAYS cleaning (which I love to see). The owner has also been a pleasure to deal with and is available through text or phone if there are any problems/concerns. The membership prices are really affordable too! I don't have any negatives to say about this establishment.

My fob was not working and i rang the bell for staff support . He came out hand over me a card to contact. I tried to call and it says tell your postal code and i entered but didn’t worked. After that i entered payment account number and it just told me your account is active and your last payment was on this date and next would be in next week. I am working 7 days a week and hardly i manage my time . If thats called a customer service than i am sorry it need a lot of work to done on it.

Not bad facility, but management it a little brainless. We tried to get the AMA discount a few months after signing up but no dice. It was frustrating because they only advertise the discount to members, but once you sign up tough luck. They also took away equipment after signing up so we thought we had access to things we no longer have access to. I'd recommend finding another location to sign up at.

We were referred here by a good friend of mine. We do have a gym in Beaumont by our home but it’s lacking equipment that this gym has. Different owners. We just signed up for one year memberships which we were given an amazing incentive. We were also able to save extra by using my AMA membership. The staff did a tour for us and was very knowledgeable with the gym and process. There was no hidden fees. The gym was very clean and welcoming. Nice equipment and tanning, they even have a water massage bed to relax in. Would highly recommend.

Worst employers. Treat employees like trash and expect unrealistic things from staff. Example, getting angry w/ staff for no clean towels or small amount of dust on equipment when they had no staffed hours for 3 days. They thought staff should do laundry/cleaning when they come in to workout even if they aren't working.

I was just told that I can't pay for a drop in session because they're a member only club. I'm from out of town and I've dropped in at other Anytime Fitness clubs in western Canada before many times. I guess they don't want to make money or make people happy.

A few days ago I left a negative review of this location due to the actions of a man named Jim who misrepresented himself as the owner. Thankfully the actual owner Rob contacted me to smoothen things out. He took the time to hear my issues fairly and acted like a true businessowner. In the end I chose to stay with Anytime Fitness thanks to the professionalism of Rob. I wanted to be treated fairly and he gave me that proper treatmentn

I recently moved, and this anytime fitness is now my closest location. The gym itself has everything you would need. Its spacious, there's lots of equipment and the staff (very limited) are friendly. HOWEVER - I have been so incredibly disappointed with this locations safety protocols in regards to Covid.. I come from the St. Albert and Strathcona locations which both keep their members feeling safe with various protocols - a mandatory mask in the common area rule, tapped out spots to be 6 ft apart, personal spray bottles you must grab as you walk in the building, extra staffed hours to ensure everything is clean, paper signs everywhere to remind people to clean before and after use as well as signs to stay 6 ft apart from other members and machines moved around in order to adhere to these rules. This made me feel way more comfortable going to the gym (Regardless of how useful these rules are) This location has none of that the 1 thing they have is the staff wearing masks. I have been there on 2 occasions over the past week (After staffed hours around 7-8 PM) where the hand sanitizer was actually empty by the bathrooms/change rooms. There are people constantly loitering in the front by the couches, all not wearing masks. The treadmills are all open side by side from each other. The space by the free weights is very compact still, and there seems to be a complete lack of personal space due to there being no regulations put in place at this gym. Not even so much as a sign on the door. I get the location is not staffed always and I also understand that gyms do not have to follow the same rules in regards to Covid, but I just feel like there is a complete lack of responsibility from the franchise owners at this location. I get angry every time I step into this gym and am fearful of going to the point where I am now considering cancelling my membership & trying somewhere else around that is at least trying to make their members feel safe during these times. Very very dissapointed.

Staff is hard working, I can mention that the lock on the first bathroom with a shower, pops, when your in bathroom if someone trys door, it pops lock. Please check thank you Large open areas for fitness and cardio, large studio, open door or closed doors. Lockers for your gear, I believe 2 showers or possibly 3 showers on site. Staff usually around till 8 pm to answer and help with questions, towels provided.

You can't be "Anytime fitness" if you can't provide working key fobs. I signed for 6 months, activated, and paid. When I went to use the gym after staffed hours the key didn't work to open the door. I spoke to a member entering the location and they said they've been fined $250 before; when they let in someone in my situation... Before fining your customers, make sure your fulfilling your responsibilities as a business. App isn't letting me login, and tech support is not allowing me to report my issue(error: 5 whatever that means). Cant book a drop in time & Instead of training, I am writing a review. My first impression of "Anytime" "fitness". Ironic.

First I don't want you to go here because one of my favorite perks of this gym is its not to busy.... but they are really good and deserve the rating. Very very clean and organized. All the equipment you need from olympic lift pads to leverage machines. Free tanning and red light therapy. Supplied towels so you don't need to worry about forgetting one. Fob entry and cameras keep your things safe. Private shower rooms which is great, also a negative though since there is only 2 you have to wait a lot. As long as you don't mind waiting on a treadmill or just playing on your phone its ok. Oh! Great wifi. Anytime is the best bang for your buck.

The main gym area is large and the equipment is very good quality, there are no dedicated locker rooms but there is an area with lockers if you need them. The owner and staff are very dedicated, after I posted my first review I recieved a phone call two and a half hours later and the issues I had were fixed next day. The codes to the tanning and massage tables just require a quick text to the owner and you can get access. TL:DR, Great gym, the staff are very dedicated, definitely worth the price. Edited for accuracy.

Gym has gone downhill in the last two years, been coming here since 2017. They seem like they need to keep moving things around and switching equipment in and out. They had it right a year ago and now every time you come in something is moved or been taken out. The gym doesn’t even have a standard smith machine anymore which is crazy. Every gym no matter what type has one, they help people learn. I’m debating leaving after three years because it’s too inconsistent now. It’s definitely not as fun coming here anymore. Just keep it simple, they are over doing it. It’s a simple gym, keep it that way.

My Reviews For you

I went here on 2017 and been a member for a while and ended my membership due to relocation. I loved the gym! But now that I am back, yes there are new machines and equipment but it was more organized before. Towels that are used (not sure for how long, if they’ve been changed or washed) are everywhere. We use it to sanitize yet some are on the floor and been used by other members. My suggestion, especially now that there’s a pandemic, is to put a paper towel dispenser instead of reusing towels so that we can throw it after use. This would help us members feel safer while in the gym. I know your staffed hours are limited but my suggestion would help a lot of members. ????

Was a member up until Covid, the lacklustre cleanliness ultimately led to a decision to leave this gym. Cleaning is the number one thing that should prioritized to have members feel comfortable and reassured whether it is COVID related or not.

DONT SIGN UP!!!! WORST SERVICE AND SENDS YOUR ACCOUNT TO COLLECTION COMPANY AND DEFINITELY DOES NOT CARE DURING LOCK DOWN. What kind of gym membership sends your info to the collection company for trying to cancel the membership that you’ve been trying to cancel for months??? It was lock down and I called, emailed and went in there to check if they are open so I can cancel my account. I’m not gonna pay monthly if I can’t get to use the gym and also what happen if someone lost their job and couldn’t afford extra to pay the monthly payment during the pandemic??? I had to call my bank to remove my account To stop you guys from taking my money even tho the gym was closed and after months, no calls and no email replied but the only thing I got is collection company??? You know how much money I lost??? 300$ just from the collection company, did I get my money back during the lock down? NO, I lost extra 200 from those months so in total. all the hard work from getting my credit score up??? From 800 to 600. So if you guys want to join in this gym at 50 street. Make sure you’re aware that canceling your membership will definitely be a fight and you will definitely not going to win.

EDIT: Now they've gone ahead and cancelled my account without even speaking to me. I received an email at 2:36PM asking for me to call them, then 20 minutes later at 2:56PM I received another email saying my membership was cancelled. I didn't even have a chance to see the first email before my membership was cancelled. Honestly, it's probably a blessing in disguise, I'm not sure what kind of business Anytime Fitness runs, but stay far, far, far away. I had posted a good review of this place due to the customer wrbice I received on resolving me being constantly overcharged (8 times). Now they're overcharging me again, I called them three times, left three voicemails as well as texted them three times, because they say text us for faster response in the voicemail message, 2 weeks ago and then 1 week ago, no return call/text or anything. I waited this long to post to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it obviously didn't work.

Just poor poor back end service, and this is on a corporate membership! I had to jump through a number of hoops to cancel, Cassandra at front desk agreed I was eligible to cancel early due to relocation, I supplied a new address and provided plane tickets which were accepted, and cancellation I was told would be made effective. 3 monthly billings later over the proposed cancellation date I am still getting charged and am unable to resolve this issue with them.

Definitely one of the best gyms in the area. I recently moved half and hour away and would still prefer this location over the others. The staff and gym members are overall extremely friendly and supportive as if it is their own community. Matt in particular was extremely helpful when it came to joining the facility, any questions I had he was able to find the answers, and he would always help whenever I needed something in the facility. I would highly recommend signing up for this gym and this location in particular.

It's always clean, never crowded and provides all the equipment I need to maintain a diverse workout schedule. Talked to one of the employees (took quite a few of my visits to actually find someone) to cancel as I'm no longer in the area. They took my name and account info and promised a call. (October/November 2019). Nothing. Left numerous voicemails and a couple emails trying to return my FOB - Never once received a response. Would absolutely not recommend using Anytime even though the facility isn't that bad at all.

I recently posted a review about a negative experience at this location that happened back in 2017, as I had been informed that my credit rating was being affected by a fictitious amount of money that the gym said I owed after canceling my membership. (Approximately $300) The same day I posted it here I also emailed the gym. I received a call back from the new manager who apologized for what had happened and cancelled the outstanding amount owing as well as rectifying the negative report on my credit. I was very pleased and just updating my review to reflect that. Prior to new management I could not get a response from this gym to deal with the situation. I would not hesitate to rejoin the gym under this new management. While I cannot change the fact that the previous management took it upon themselves to affect my credit rating....it has been rectified now.

Like other comments suggest, this facility does not abide by nor enforce covid rules. Would not recommend.. I'd have the city look closer into this. Especially a young white male whom works there. I'd go elsewhere .

Very sad that this gym has no customer service etiquette. Lost my fob once I asked someone to let me in granted there is a sign that says don't let someone in but they NEVER EVER have anyone on staff during hours of operation. There is no one ever around, anyways I asked my friend to let me in and they were charged $250!!! I explained my case that I forgot my fob and they wouldnt budge and took the money from their account without any heads up. Really... how about having staff on sight when you say you will have some. DO NOT go to this gym. Its clean but they never have anyone working there and they take money from people's account WITHOUT ANY HEADS UP!!! terrible gym do not go here.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The only thing that is great here is the equipments and machines. I don’t feel safe in this gym anymore. I went earlier around 7pm and I just can’t believe how pact the free weights area is. Seriously, there are signages to have 6ft apart but benches are too close to each other so people (who, I guess, doesn’t care) were benching so close to each other as well. Towels are on the floor. Empty sanitizing bottles. Required mask policy is posted by the door but only staff are wearing one. I know this a franchised gym but the owner needs to realize that if a lot of members are feeling this way and reported it they could get closed down. You need to take out some benches and equipments/machines to have spacing. Please make us feel safe if there are no staff anymore and don’t bother replying to call you to discuss cuz I won’t. Please take our reviews seriously.

EDIT: Recently had a very bad experience with this gym. I still say gym is good but customer service is really getting bad now. I was charged $250 as a fine without any notice or warning. Im a member of this gym From last one year and as you can see i did put nice words for them when i joined because i was really happy till now, but when you really need help /customer service to resolve any issue nobody is answering my phone calls or reply my text or emails for update. As you know gym staff hours are very limited and they’re only available at daytime. I usually come at around midnight or 2am Because of my work shifts. On jan 27 i entered the gym with my own fob and after 20 mins or so I realized i left something in my car so i stepped outside the gym for like 30 seconds and when i was about to enter the gym again I realized i left my access card/fob inside. It was around -10 something outside n my car keys, phone jacket everything inside the gym. Luckily there was another member inside the gym who comes around same time.he opened the door for me because he saw me inside the gym like 2 mins ago and as a courtesy sake . But gym security team don’t feel that way and charged me $250. I was not tailgating anybody and im paying my gym fees every month on time and i do have an active fob. Still they charged my bank account $250. I spoke to staff n sent a detailed email, tried to call owner so many times but seems like nobody cares to give me an update. I just dont go online and put bad reviews for anybody, but it looks like other members have faced the same problem too and gym should look into more detail before they charge anybody. We all are human and we all can make small mistake. Anyways im still waiting for a reply from them. If they choose to be to follow “Don’t care” attitude then Good luck to them. Previous review I have been coming to this location (50 street and whitemud) for 1.5 months now, the experience has been great. The gym is very clean. Nice equipment and tanning, they even have a water massage bed to relax in.

I used to goto this gym last year and really enjoyed it and even reccomended it to others. I was really dissapointed with Customer Service when I called this to re-join this year. I wanted to join for a couple of months before it gets nice outside and was told that it is only "worth it" to sign up for a whole year and told that I should join a rec center instead. I still have my FOB from last year and was also told I could not re-use it and would have to buy another one and pay the $100 sign-up fee. I don't understand why a gym would not want my business and money for 2-3 months. It's too bad so many gyms only give you a good price if you sign your life away.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. As a gym, it is not bad. I chose it because it was close to work which made it quite convenient. My issue with this particular gym and its staff is their customer service. They are quick and persistent to get their money but slow and inept when it comes to resolving collection/account issues. So beware!!!! I signed a contract for a year but ended up having medical issues preventing me from using the gym. I paid my monthly dues on time even though I couldn't even go to the gym except for the months when I was almost bedridden and had to be admitted. They called and emailed me that they were sending my account to collections and so me knowing I signed a contract and wanted to keep my end, made sure to make arrangements for someone to drive me there just so I can pay my dues. Given this bad experience and of course my lack of a need to use the membership I told the staff who took my payment to cancel my membership as well. After collecting my money I was told to email their collections department with a copy of my receipt, which I promtly did. Well, after a few days I get another call and email telling me I still owe them, so I replied that they should get hold of their collections because I already paid. Well, they sent my account to collections anyways!!! This of course affected my credit score, which pisses me off because it is really quite unfair. Talking to a staff member about this issue will only get you directed to an email for their collections/billing. There is no quick resolution to my particular problem because I have to wait for the email reply. All I got was an automatic reply from collections about my complaint. I would have paid the fees right off if someone took the time to explain to me what they were for. Plus, the male staff I have been unfortunately dealing with, Matt, was rude (he hung up on me) and unaccomodating. Would NOT EVER recommend this gym. Waste of time and money.

I am really impressed with these guys! The gym and equipment is kept extremely clean and in good working order. I made a suggestion and they actually listened to me then made the change the following day. Taking care of their clients is definitely on the agenda at this location. I would recommend this Anytime location to anyone. Thanks guys!
