A great place to buy all sorts of sporting goods! Probably the biggest in the city, they have large sections for almost all sports that you might look for!

Customer service is always great at this location and it is quite a large store. You won’t find that much sports equipment but there are a lot of clothing and shoes options. It’s also connected to an atmosphere store in the top level which is convenient and their selection is also pretty good!

Regular prices are very very high, but their sales are often quite good. Great shoe selection. Only competitive swim stock in the north end. Great sport clothing selection. The bike department was unable to sell me some pretty common and basic parts, so I would head to a bike shop for that.

Terrible customer service. Wanted to return an item that I purchased online and even though I printed the e-receipt and provided the packing slip they gave me a very hard time. I still do not understand why. They made me feel like I did something wrong. Extremely unpleasant and disappointing experience and as result I will never deal at this outlet going forward. It's shame that Sportchek doesn't record the interactions of their employees with customers as they would be in for a quite surprise.

Winter jacket zipper broke. Coat was purchased at this location and almost 2 years old; not covered by any kind of warranty. Store Manager Dave directed me to have it repaired (actually replaced the zipper) and he reimbursed me the whole cost! He didn't have to do this. Awesome customer service. Very happy. I'll definitely do business there again.

I wanted a zip up hoodie with pockets for women but they did not have that whatsoever, they had literally everything else but not a simple zip up sweater for women! I ended up at sporting life. Been there twice but had awful experience with the cashiers. Bought 2 pack of socks as it said 50% on the 2nd but the cashier "forgot" it and needed me to remind her, she even gave a doubtful look. The next time i came back, told the cashier i did the survey as it offer 10% discount, but she ask for my email tho the survey asked nothing about dat, tho i had my receipt and survey code with me, not very helpful i must say.

I visit this Sportchek fairly frequently on my lunch break, weather I'm picking up some new shoes, getting my skates sharpened, or checking out the apparel sales rack. The taller dark haired guy in the service shop is friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about skates, and has helped run through everything from type of sharpening cut (he always does a perfect cut), to general repairs and maintenance i had no idea about for my skates, to the type of skate that has improved my hockey game... turns out the brother's old skates were 2 sizes too big, and were definetely 'leisure skates' not 'hockey skates', lol). The longer blonde haired guy who works in sports equipment has also helped me out a lot with hockey equipment. He got my skates molded to my feet, and ran back and forth the the storage room to pick out a bunch of different skates, explaining the benefit of each in turn. He ran through all kinds of styles and details, and was very helpful in finding the best fit and deal. The cashiers have always been keen and knowledgeable at this location, returns and exchanges have always been a breeze. They even helped me make an online order for a shoe size that was out of stock, ensuring that i got the great in store price. The girls in the women's outerwear dept. are also funny and sweet, and had great suggestions for technical outdoor gear. Yup... I spend a lot of money here. Based on my experiences, I have come to trust the opinions and suggestions of the staff to get me great gear.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE???? Today, my boyfriend and I looked around for on sale items, I luckily found a marked down Nike windbreaker. When I was about to pay, the item scanned at its regular price, I acknowledged it to the blonde-hair cashier, and that's when everything started to go downhill. She called over another colleague (a woman with half of her head shaved) to verify, however, both were giving me dirty looks implying somehow I had something to do with pricing. I even suggested getting the same item from the rack to prove that that's the price I've found it for. Another 5 minutes passed and the floor manager came to confirm that the item IS marked down. After I have paid, there was no apology for the inconvenience, or an appreciation for patronage. Please talk to your employees about this.

Went in to buy headphones that they said they would price match for me, then when I got to the counter, they refused the price match despite the competitor store being an official retailer (the source & Best Buy). They said they could “price match only up to 25% off”. That’s not a price match, that’s just a price reduction. The headphones were still a good $45 more than their competitor. Why tf would I settle to pay $45 more when I could just go to the other store? Don’t say “price match” if you’re not actually going to MATCH the other price, that’s misleading the customer. So dumb. Wasted my time coming in.

He addressed my concerns regarding a previous skate profile. Performed a thorough analysis on my skates and recommend a solution that was sincere and genuine. This is something I don't generally expect from big chains and it was refreshing to see an employee that cares.

Purchased an $800 Theragun Elite from this location. Spoke with a rep at the store yesterday that told me there would be no issue returning it. Drove to the store today and was told they recently implemented a new policy not to take back open electronics. Odd that they just implemented this, even stranger that Theragun itself has no such return policy issues. The manager itself was pretty dry and offered no sympathy whatsoever despite one of her employees speaking to me at the phone and confirming it would be ok to come in. That’s why I called to begin with after all. Save yourself the hassle and make your purchases online or at another store altogether. BAD SERVICE

While I saw 7 sale assisants over the Shoe section, I come to ask one of the sales near Nike to bring the Nike metcon , he said' Ask the sale guy exact right under Nike section', and he turns back to chat up with another worker and same location they stand. Nike section is really busy, I understand to wait but this guy still not move and stand their Shoe section for chat for 10 more minutes. I decide to leave the store cause rest of the sales are really busy we got no chance to ask to get helped but he is still happy chating over with another worker for no help onto any others under peak period. Makes me uncomfortable to stay this store anymore while anyone seen things like this. Is that means: If I want to buy a shoe in store here in Sport Chek, I have to try hard looking for a sales who sales this brand otherwise they cant sale it cause your worker on other shoe section cant help it, they only can point you to leave them along while they are not put in those duties. ' We only sales the shoe brand where we stand at?'

Mar 22 2018. Today I bought a snowboard on sale at the Scarborough location of Sport check but unfortunately they did not have the bindings I wanted in stock. The sales guy was kind enough to tell me that the York-dale location had some in inventory, it was a little out of my way but I really wanted these bindings. I get to the York-dale store find a sales guy and tell him what I want and when he is goon in the back to get them, I notice the display model was missing and only the tag remained. When the sales guy returned with the box I asked is that the last one and he replied yes, I asked if it was the display model and he says no. Upon further inspection I determined it was indeed the display model and to top it off was not in working condition, the store manager had come along at this point and taken the binding to his tech who was able to fix it. I said to the manager these bindings are clearly not new and seeing that I would not likely be using them till next season and by that time I would have no recourse if anything were to go wrong as the warranty would have ended. I asked for a discounted price and was told there was nothing he could do. So I left the store and now plan to return the snowboard I bought. Sport Check tried to pawn off used broken goods as brand new and when I call them on it and ask for a discount they punked me off. I will never shop here again F U sports check for wasting my time. Bottom line is passing off an open or returned unused product as brand new is one thing but a product that has been on display for who knows how many months and that needs to be fixed before sale?

Last year I spent almost 600$ in restringing at this location, I was told that the reason my string kept on breaking was because of the design of my HEAD TI S6 model of racket. I would get the racket restrung at different tensions, I would use high quality string everything but the string kept on breaking. This year I decided to go all out and purchase 2 high end rackets worth approximately 450$, I was told these rackets would be done two days from purchase, on arrival to the store they were not completed with no phone call ahead of time to notify me that they would not be completed. When I spoke to a manager they just brushed me aside like they didn't want to hear my complaint at all. This is not the first time this has occurred at this location, the tech SEAN in the Service department thinks he knows everything and that any error they make in the service department is the customers fault. Needless to say they have truly lost a good customer and I STRONGLY recommend any to stay clear of this store!

Eager and helpful sales staff, although not necessarily the most knowledgeable. Check to make sure your sales Rep knows their stuff. Broad selection in terms of sport disciplines and hard and soft goods, but not very deep within categories. They pick a few models to cover the range. Their house brands can give you the best value on sale - they tend to discount them more. However, when they purchase new brands they often strip out some of the more advanced features over time to keep prices down. If you're not hard core, this is usually no problem. If you are, you may be better off at a more serious specialty store, but it will cost you. Captive brands include McKinley, Ripzone, Helly Hansen, Capix and Woods, and perhaps a few others. One of the great things is their sales can be pretty steep in terms of discounts, but be prepared to Google independent reviews of gear you're looking at to make sure it's a good fit. You owe it to yourself to check out the top of the line Canadian Tire mastercard. You will get special discounts here, and at other CT owned banners such as Marks and Atmosphere only available to insiders. Also love their generous return policies. The Yorkdale location is two floors and lots of footage crammed with product. One of their biggest, along with the Sherway gardens location.

I went there just to pick up a pair of running shoes I purchased online. I was expecting to be able to open the package and see the merchandise and even try it but that was never offered to me and when I said I didn't want the box the sales person was very quick in saying was had to take the box in case of return but if I could open it and tried it on I would not need to return it. All that took place in the middle of a corridor in the store. Anyway after it was done I went to the shoes section opened the box and tried my running shoes on. It was perfect. I left the box on a chair and left. Without any assistance from the salesperson. Very disappointing. I could have bought other items if I had any assistance.

I had a horrible experience in this store on 2018-Oct-20 at 19:30. I have selected a basketball shoe to purchase. One guy with staff uniform has approached me and asked about my purchase. He said that I will get a 15% coupon "immediately" if I enroll the Canadian Tire + sportChek promotion program. I asked him whether I could get 15% coupon immediately and can use it for my immediate purchase in few minutes if I enroll. He said Yes. I confirmed twice. He asked for an ID proof and I gave it to him. He immediately scanned the ID proof with his device which I did not expect that he would scan. He did not ask for permission either. He got all my information and entered in his IPOD. I was expecting to get the 15% coupon. But I did not. He said that I need to wait for few days. He is also not sure when I will get it. I was so disappointed. I have immediately approached cashier "Davis" and explained about it. Davis shocked. He said that the enrollment shall be done in-front of cashier. He was trying to help me to get the coupon. He concerned the customer issues. And he was trying to explain the conversation with his manager. But his manager did not responding to it. He was busy in billing other customers purchase. I thought manager would help. But he did not involve in this. Then the cashier Davis brought the guy who was giving false promise on offering 15% coupon immediately and we were left to a corner to sort it out our self. Now the guy who is promoting the program changed his tone and said that he did not promise immediately 15% coupon and I will get after few days. He left immediately and approaching others. Finally I purchased the shoe by paying the actual price (billed at 19:46). I was actually fooled by him. I like the store (All SportChek) and I have visited many time. I could not see the standard which I see in other SportChek stores. The manager would have involved in it. Either I would have get the coupon or the guy who is giving false promise to the customer should have asked to leave the store. I am not going to use the 15% coupon if I get after 3 days or more. This is disappointed customer review.

Went in to get sneakers. No one at the sneakers section. Waited for 10 min and then had to stop an employee and ask them to get me the right size. He says “one min” and comes back after 15 min and asks me if any one had helped me ?!?! And then he takes the shoe from my hand and gives it to another employee to find the size and I had to wait another 15 min before I gave up and walked out the store. Worst service I ever experienced. 0 Stars.

Work for a different location and found the general customer experience to be okay, the Hard goods and Soft goods associates were nice and helpful with giving me the costs of the items I was after. However, the front end cashier staff at the main cash, skinny brunette and a larger cash manager or associate manager were pretty terrible. I was trying to use my numbers for my discount as I am getting a new one sent out and I was essentially called a liar in front of my mother and that essentially they didn't believe I worked at a location. I offered to call my store so they could confirm, I even had ID that would match my name on the account, not only that but I had a picture of my discount card. The cash manager wasn't having it and walked away from the situation. Poorly trained. I've never had an issue with any other store in my area, they usually ask for a piece of ID and go on with business. Especially since Christmas is only a few days away.

It begins as I walk in the manager is yelling at a family for whatever reason when the proper thing to do is to walk up to that family not yell across the store. This is for the woman who barely serviced/acknowledged me today while cashing out (near the right side, top floor entrance). No "hello" , no actual communication during the payment process, no "thank you have a good day" ...nothing. I asked if they still accept Scene Cards for points and she rudely responded, "no, only the Canadian Tire points card". So how was I supposed to know if it was never requested or asked of me..? I'm seeing a lot of the reviews nailing this store for poor customer service, so, it is still apparently an issue.

Went to SportCheck in Masonville and Spent about 45 minutes talking to Devon about a Severe torn tendon issue I have from a so called fitness trainer 7 years ago and still suffer to this day. Here’s the thing, Devon the sales assistant was wonderful, knowledgable showed me all my options and I bought ankle supports from him. This is generally a good Sport Chek store. I remember coming here to get all kinds of sport equipment from sport apparels to bikes. They have a fairly big, and good selection available for everyone. I've also gotten a lot of service done here for fixing my bike, sharpening skate blades, and more and have been all satisfied. The staff (if you can find one to help you) are usually nice, courteous, and professional. They're really pleasant to deal with, and the overall atmosphere is very welcoming. There are several parking spots available, so that's almost never a problem. If you're in the Masonville area to do some shopping, you owe yourself to check out this store.

The senior employee whose name is "DANIELA" barely helped me. He checked the internal system for Modena and said there is one Large size Modena for Men in Etobicoke. I requested him to call and ask because I wanted to be sure about it before I go there. The only thing he can do is giving me the number so that I can call them !!!!! Pardon me but Google provide me those informations,too !!! I asked Etobicoke Sportchek if they have Modena and ... They don't have any Modena model ! How can that happen, I honestly cannot understand. I want to thank you Daniela, you helped me a lot (!)

The staff Simon was very reliable and helpful. I went there in Dec. 2021 to exchange a different size for my jacket. Simon helped me check with negative results for the size. I asked him to continue keep an eye for my jacket, provided my phone # and requested if he could give me a call if the size becomes available. Couple days after even before the store opens, I received a call from Simon in the morning telling me that a shipment just came in and he found the jacket with the right size I wanted. This kind of hard work, his commitment and customer service I’ve never experienced. I thank him so much. I gave Simon 5 stars.

I was blown away at how friendly and helpful the staff were. I was looking for an armband for running and an employee immediately came up to me asking if I needed help. She even let me test out the armband with my phone. When we found out it didn't fit, she gave me a number of recommendations of websites and other stores that could stock armbands. I bought my 8year old daughter a bike from Sportrchek last year. I brought it in for it's first "tune-up." I waited one week. My daughter was anxious to get her bike back. I was told the tune was completed. Everything from the gears to "proper shifting" were addressed. I took her bike out for a test when I got home. The brakes were tuned, but the rear derailleur (gear shift) was still off of alignment. To the point where the derailleur over shifts past first gear, and sometimes "locks-up" her rear tire. I spoke with the manager Dave Somerville about the situation. He is currently trying to amend the situation. I asked if I could bring the bike in immediately, and have it taken care of right away without having to wait, since I was pretty much lied to from the start. I will keep posting updates on how my situation was dealt with.

Terrible experience. Went for skis for my wife. Nothing had prices. Nothing scanned. She got a good deal in the end but getting the bindings put on has been a nightmare. They took all of her details at checkout. Two days later we got a call from someone looking for her weight, which was on the paperwork. I gave it again and he said he'd do them right away. I went to pick them up the next afternoon and they still weren't done. MEC did mine in the minutes. There is just no comparison.

We were just at the Yorkdale location and had very bad experience with Liz (Cash Lead). Liz asked us to insert our card and told us the transaction won’t go through and it was only to check if the order could be placed with the triangle 24 month plan. And to our utter surprise we were told that they placed an order for us without our express consent for it. In Canada, placing on order without consent is a serious offence and could have serious ramifications for Sportchek. It was Liz’s behaviour and conduct after making this blunder of a mistake which was even more problematic. She was absolutely unapologetic about it and simply just handed us a receipt told us that now we will have to come back to the store to return the order or call customer service number which is also unreachable right now. We will have to spend so much of our valuable time because of this mistake by Liz. Mistakes like this can happen, but how a company and its representatives deal with customers after a mistake really tell you their level of commitment to customer service. Liz should be made to go though a refresher customer training session and in the meantime even though amount was not big I will seek whatever recourse available against Sportchek for placing an order without our consent.

To anyone visiting this location, Expect to find a great aesthetic store layout, things appear to be organized and built to the upmost standard. New panels, screens and merchandise have been laid out, however what seems to be dragging this store behind is the complete disregard and unprofessionalism of the staff towards customers that come to this location. My experience at this store was towards closing time 7-9 PM, I selected three shoes from the shoe department. Right off the bat, you'd begin to notice many staff seem unmotivated to serve customers, if they do take an initiative to step in to help, they rarely check with you again about the shoe size you asked to see. Many customers including myself, had to wait very long periods of time to receive service. Bottom line, they just simply take WAY too long of a time to update you on the progress, I was waiting for nearly 15 minutes to get the shoe size I had initially requested. As I was approached the same customer service representative I had initially inquired about my request, They ended up asking another co-worker to go have a look, while they stood there and continued to socialize with their other co-worker. This complete disregard of professionalism and proper customer service only proves that it's often not in the aesthetic of display in a store that leaves satisfied customers, it's the personality and nature of customer service representatives that drives customers to consider returning to their store for continued loyalty to the brand . Towards the end, upon realizing that I'll probably have to wait even longer for the search just to begin, all while I was already under the impression that someone had already been looking for the pair of shoes I had requested to try on. I simply left, and went on to purchase $243 dollars worth of merchandise from another athletic clothing location at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre. Bottom line, with the current level of attitude in regards to customer service towards customers at this location, the Sport Chek brand will certainly need to rethink employee training, customer satisfaction was low in my experience, and to the many unnamed customers this particular unfortunate day. For reasons such as this, it has become increasingly clear to me that the job this brand needs to get done cannot be done unless major changes take place at this particular location.

I needed my rollerblades cleaned, and as it turned out, new wheels as well. My blades were a mess - very dirty, never been serviced in many years, and rollerblade maintenance is not a specific service offered by Sport Chek. But they said no problem, bring them in. I went here looking for downhill skiing pants and jacket. The sales person was very helpful and informative. She showed me numerous pieces of clothing and was always close by if I had any questions. Experience can basically be summed up with describing 15 teenagers (other than guy at cash) doing their best to look busy and dodge customers. Wanted a pair of skates, out of 10-15 possible pairs, 2 available in my size, and your "helper" will be gone for 10-15 minutes anytime you need some stock. More employees in the stock room than anything else, and even if there's a big line-up at the till, you'll only have the one guy struggling to keep up. All the extra people running around couldn't possibly help at the till? Doubt it.

On Dec. 28 I asked one of the staff for help finding a rose gold nike hat for kids. The answer I got is if its not in the hat section by the escalators check the nike section, I told him its for kids so he tells me to go downstairs and check. So we searched every and couldn't find i. My husband told me to ask another staff member and good thing i did. Apparently the hat I was looking for was in the back and she found it. Wish i got the guys name so you guys can train him on how to search for items. I recently purchased a mountain bike at Sport Chek, and overall, I'm an satisfied with the bike. I am not satisfied with one year free tune ups though. About two weeks after purchasing my bike, I brought it in for a free tune up included with the bike purchase. When I returned to pick up the bike there were some pretty major scratches on the paint. When I pointed this out, they said that they would check the cameras to see what happened. After being promised that they would check that day, it took 3 weeks with weekly phone calls to finally get a response. They told me that they could not find any proof that they had damaged my bike and that i should come pick it up. When I came in to pick up my bike, they had a form that they wanted me to sign stating that I was satisfied with the service and the condition of my bike. I was told multiple times that I could not leave the store with my bike without signing that. It had to be escalated to the store manager for me to be allowed to take my bike without signing that I was happy with their service. If you want to buy a fairly decent bike, I'd recommend sport chek. If you need any service on your bike, I'd highly recommend that you do not leave your bike with sport Chek as they will NOT take responsibility for any damage they cause and will try and force you to sign that you are happy with the work they preformed.

Went in looking for a specific Shoe Metcon 3, had great selection in men's but none in women's for my fiancée. Watched 2 sales associates chatting for a few minutes while I tried to get a size. When I finally did the Sales associate just shrugged and said "yeah okay" 3 minutes later she came back dropped them next to me and left. Didn't ask if that's all, or if I wanted to see other colours? Seriously the store is great looking but that staff are clearly either lazy or the managers are making them hate their job. The only happy employees were the cashiers who stood their chatting as there weren't many people buying, now I know why.

(I was surprised with a snowboarding trip and was also in need of a new winter jacket ) So I looked for hours online found the perfect one within my price range finally and unfortunately the one I found couldn’t be shipped before we left for our trip.. I panicked a bit because it’s so hard to find a good quality jacket for a reasonable price and in such short amount of time to.. Turns out they had the exact jacket I wanted in low stock at the this location! I called with my fingers crossed! The attendant who picked up listened to my situation very carefully which meant a lot and I know she actually took time and care to look for it because I was on hold for about 9 minutes while she was looking. (Other retail stores I have been to have put less care into similar situations) Anyways she actually found the jacket!!!!!!! I was so happy! and this makes my birthday trip 100x better & warmer! They put it on hold for me! I picked it up and they were even more amazing about the online markdown for the jacket as well! One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered. Order an item online and was then told they ran out of them at all of their fulfillment centers and warehouses. Proceeded to wait on hold with their customer service for a good 30 minutes and was then told there is one item left in stock at the Yorkdale location. Called them to find out if it was still available, they then left me on hold for over 45 minutes in total - I had to hang up and call back only to find out (immediately mind you) that "oh yes I overhead someone else looking for it - sorry we no longer have it". I wonder how long they would have kept me on hold before letting me know. Just awful customer service. Will not be using their e-commerce site ever again.

Won’t be ever shopping at this location in the future...here’s what happened, I went into the store to purchase a Toronto raptors championship t shirt. I was told to go to the front cash register. The girl who helped me was very rude. She acted like she was doing me a favour selling the items to me. She acted like the merchandise was worth hundreds or thousands of dollars, when really in fact the t-shirt was $42. She wouldn’t let me come within 5 feet of the t-shirt. She would not let me touch the t-shirt. Even worse I asked if I could try on the t-shirt since I wasn’t 100% which size would fit me best. She said I could only try the t-shirt over my clothing even though sport chek has a fitting room. I spend a lot money at sport chek on a regular basis, Ive never had such poor customer service in my life. I was so surprised that this was Yorkdale mall. I thought I was in a ghetto or in the states. It didn’t feel Like I was in the city and country I was so proudly born in. I ended up spending my money at another store in the mall where they treated me like customer not a criminal. Sport chek at Yorkdale you have lost my business for life!

Terrible experience with cashier 9279 Catherine. It felt like she was purposely trying to antagonize me. March 5th 2020 5:01pm She was convinced the shoe I was purchasing was not eligible for a discount. (If a shoe price ends in .00 it’s not eligible for the discount.) the price was $104.99. I explained this to her while the manager was on route. She did not acknowledge what I said or explain. The store manager arrived and said “ya it’s fine.” That should have been the end of it! Catherine then had the shoe stock employees double check (they said it’s fine) then she called the manager over again who took the shoes to the back to do some checks. The manager said, again... “ya they are fine” I nearly walked out of the store because this was an unnecessary waste of time. Catherine, can I buy the shoes now? Do you need to triple check with a district manager? Do you need to email head office? I couldn’t understand why this wasteyute Catherine had so many unnecessary f’s to give for a minimum wage job. Was at kildonan place west 49 store looking at shoes they had on sale for 40% off they did not have my size so I went across the street to sports check on regent they also did not have my size so I called sportscheck st.vital explained the situation that I needed this size and west 49 had them on sale but didnt have my size and they said they have the size and will price match the 40% sale price on the shoes so I made the trip, when I arrive the manager tells me they can not honor it as west 49 doesnt have the size in stock. I do not recommend taking your bike to get fixed here. I just bought a bike that was perfectly good from a friend of mine other than the fact the back rim had a SLIGHT bend in it. Anyhow, I'm not a bike mechanic and I do not know how to take a bend out of a rim, therefore I had to take it here. I could of fixed the problem myself by having a smaller tire put on and asked the tech before anything and he said he" didn't have any tires in stock" like buddy you run a bike shop you can't tell me you don't have any tires. He said my tire was too wide and all he had was the same kind of wide tires. Anyway he said he could take the bend out of it but id have to leave the bike until Wednesday which was 4 days from the day I brought it in.( I need the bike to get to and from work everyday ) which is why I asked about a quick fix which was the smaller tire, so I left the bike there and paid for the service to be done that day. He then said he could have it done by Monday. This was Saturday I came in. So I came in Monday after calling and he said he would have it done by 630 pm. I came in to see how it was going and he said my bike needs a spoke replacement and he didn't have any spokes and he would have to order one which would take another 2 days on top. Like dude are you kidding me? I told him before I even started I need my bike for work. Anyway I said " just give me back the bike I'll take it somewhere else " he then said " I'll have it done in half an hour we actually found a spoke for it " I'm rolling my eyes at this point. I came back and my bike was ready to go. Anyway in the beginning I know for a fact there was nothing wrong with my bike besides the back rim bend which wasn't a big issue but riding it everyday I needed it fixed. So as SOON as I got on the bike outside the shop I noticed it was harder to pedal. I didn't think much of it at first. But riding everyday to and from work it was getting overwhelming. However, it has been over a week and I haven't ridden it hard at all. Today my back wheel gears went out. When I pedal the bike doesn't move at all. As if the chain weren't on the Bike, but the chain is on. I'm FURIOUS. So I called sportchek and let them know what happend to me. They put a girl on the phone and said their tech won't be in until later which was around 6:40 and they close at 10. Thats b.s. all the way. She tried to sound sorry and said they were sorry and to bring it in again. I was so mad because I know these are tricks of a mechanic to get me to come back in to spend more money. I said I was going to take it somewhere else other than there and they tried to convince me to bring it in anyway. I took it to a different bike shop today and they told me someone had taken out one of my " wheel pins " which keep the gear on the wheel from turning freely, hence you get motion. When there is no pins the gears move freely and then no movement. Hmmmm I wonder who did that?? They hooked me up with a new wheel while they fix my old rim gear pins and my bike rides soo much better and faster than when I got it back from sportchek. On top of all that I had paid for a brake and gear adjustment and my gears won't go into the last gear and I addressed this to the tech. I WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK TO ANY SPORTCHEK for bike service again. I am training to be a mechanic and trust me I know the tricks of the trade. This was my first and last time I EVER take anything to SportChek again. I would advise taking your bike to a smaller bike shop that cares about their customers. I hope to save anyone a headache. I'm just glad this didn't happen on my way to work. That is my review and I will be going elsewhere for bike repair. Thank you for your time. Good luck.I

I went there to exchange a defective item from another store; I wanted to exchange it for the exact same item minus the color. The whole process was a nightmare; they gave me all the excuses why I couldnt exchange the same item outright. I argued with them until pretty much have their staff gathered around me. You would think that an exchange for the same item would be the easiest thing to do, but nooooo. I finally snapped and yelled at the manager because the whole ordeal was idiotic and a waste of time. A few of the managers there deserves to be fired! Companies spend millions of dollars in customer support, but ends up negated by hiring moronic managers! For a "FLAGSHIP" location; this is by far, "THE WORST".

I came in here this evening with my husband and he was fresh out of surgery we stopped in because we needed to get a pad for him to sit on for the ride home. I got him in the doors of sportcheck and he was starting to spin and almost pass out. One of the employees directed him over to sit down and waited with him the whole time I was gone to get a wheelchair. A+ customer service and just all around kindness from this young lady. Empathy is hard to find in a town like London and we found it in this young girl. Thank you for staying with my husband when he needed someone. Came to buy a GPS watch. I checked their website before going to the store and the price of the GPS watch was $110. In the store, the price was $248!! Other GPS watches were also more expensive in the store than on the website. I won't be shopping here any more. EDIT ONE WEEK LATER I ordered the watch online and got it in two days. Excellent online ordering: great communication and free tracking. I'm revising my review: I'll shop online first, then in the store. They have a great selection of shoes and clothes so I'll give them another try. And I highly recommend ordering from Sport Chek online.

I do hope the manager reads this review! I have to say, I desperately needed a new winter jacket, especially in this cold snap in Winnipeg. I was helped by a wonderful young lady who went above and beyond helping me today, her name is Samantha! I’m a single parent as my boys lost their father to pancreatic cancer Dec 20, 2019. It’s been a real adjustment in many ways. I needed a warm jacket to wear and have to be careful what I spend. Samantha took her time with me, made me feel like she truly cared to help me find one that fit me and was going to keep me warm. I've been a customer here on and off for years. I've always found the service hit or miss. The sales staff are generally good, knowledgeable, helpful. For some reason, on several occasions, the checkout clerks have left security tags on my items. They don't alarm when I leave the store, and then I'm stuck making a return trip to Yorkdale to get the tags removed. If you've ever been to Yorkdale, you'll know this is a huge pain. I called the store for help. I'm still on hold waiting for a manager. I had enough time to write this review while waiting to talk to a live person. I remain unconvinced that anyone running that store has a clue as to what's going on. Also, now that they've been acquired by Canadian Tire, I was accosted by an agent who in retrospect was obviously on commission and tried to get me to sign up for a credit card under the false pretence that I was going to get a 'single use discount card' for a 15% off by simply answering a few questions. It was very sketchy and I did not appreciate being misled or having my time wasted in this manner. Very disappointed x 2 by two big Canadian brands, now consolidated under one company.

The service here is the pits. Every time I go here needing help with getting shoes for my children it is a hassle and a half. First I need to find someone to help me, this seems to take forever. The shoe department could be busy as anything but they only have one person working in this area. While there are three or more staff visiting around the tills. Then there is the hassle of getting the worker to take your child's shoes size. I'm sorry but I thought that this was something you just do when trying to fit a child for a shoe. Then on top of that, every shoe that was on the wall in my child's size range was not in stock in his size. This was my breaking point. I'm don't with sports check at St.. Vital mall. I went to footlocker and the employees there were fantastic!!!!

Came here for a pick up order today and got a pair of goggles. When I got back home and opened them, I could tell right away that they were used. The insides of the lenses were scratched, they didn’t have protective seals on them, and the 4 alternate nose pieces that were supposed to come with the goggles were missing. Looks like I’m going to have to waste another hour going back to the store and getting a replacement. There should be quality control going on when products are returned. Until then, I guess it falls on the customer to check that we’re not being sold used products for the price of new ones.

They were great answered all my questions, addressed my conserns and were patient with me. A very unknowledgable person about sports gear. They did say this was a flag ship store. I hope they get more in Toronto

Really poor customer experience! My girlfriend and I wanted to purchase a pair of ski boots. Firstly, the store was short staffed. We waited at least for 20 mins for an associate to help us get a size. When we got a hold of an associate, we asked the associate what the difference is between the 2 boot models, all I received was an unhelpful one-word answer - "stiffer". The poor customer service doesn't stop there. When my girlfriend asked to try the boots on, the associate told us that we MUST purchase a pair of socks in store in order to try them on. Minutes ago, we witnessed another associate give another customer a pair of socks to try out their boots.... I felt like the associate didn't want to help us out at all, and just wants to push us away.... Felt super disrespected and disappointed at SportChek! Pitiful attitude coupled with unhelpful advices, I will not purchase anything in this location ever!

Amazing store. Has tons of selection for shoes. We were very very pleased with the customer service at this location. All the staff are very friendly. Especially Jonathan. He was fantastic. We were picking out shoes for almost 2 hours and he was running up and down grabbing us the right size that we needed. We ended up buying 3 pairs of shoes for amazing prices !

I have had bad experiences with Sportchek previously. I have never seen something more disgusting than a manager mistreating the employees of a company. By asking the name of the manager I found out his name is David. Lack of character and narcissistic behaviour is what I can use to describe him. My wife has worked in retail and she knows the hardship of working for someone who does not appreciate the dedication employees deliver. We heard david yelling at someone and immediately felt ashamed of shopping somewhere where this type of behaviour is tolerated. After finding out it is the manager of the store I decided to drop the clothes I was going to purchase and never set my foot there again. Personally the "manager" should be demoted or fired.

Friendly employees. Check out was fast and friendly. Helped me a lot with my gift cards (I got rejected at Foot Locker when I tried to pay with these gift cards, and that’s not because there’s no money in it. They just didn’t want to do that). I came to this mall to buy some shoes at Foot Locker but ended up bought 3 pairs and 2 backpacks at Sport Check. Both places had what we want, but the quality of customer service that made me decide to buy them at Sport Check. Keep up the good work!

i called customer service a girl picked on friday september 17th 2021 at 10:45 am up directed me to shoe department waited 1 hour no one answered then called again same girl picked i told her the situation and she said sorry im gonna be walkong up to them left me on hold for another hour she lied and no one answered the call at all sadly how poor customer service going on here

NOBODY helped me. And when I asked for a certain product the sales guy kinda just shooed me off into a direction...only to find out they didn't even carry that brand on that location..... They just lost a $600 sale as I saw jacket I liked but didn't buy because of principal

I walked in today browsing through the shoe section I was chatting with an employee by the name of Darryl in that departments and another employee by the name of Julian looked like the department manager, started yelling at him because he was helping me then told me to get out terrible terrible service. And very rude

Went and asked for a shoe size and the guy working went to the back and didnt appear for 30 minutes. Asked his co-worker to go in and look for him and he disappeared too. A third employee went in to check for me and said that he couldn't find them and that whoever was looking for it should be out soon. The 2nd employee who disappeared came out and said the 1st employee will be out shortly with the shoes. Waited another 1 0 minutes (40 minutes total) and nobody came out of that room. Beware, this sport chek has a black hole in their inventory storage. Long story short: asked for shoe size, waited 40 minutes. Went to little burgundy and bought the same shoes in less than 5 minutes. Expect absolute incompetence here.
