Please don't go. You don't need to save money playing on a much improved course being run by a considerate new owner. Save yourself the time while keeping it accessible for others who enjoy it like me. If you do go, say hi to Bob for me.

Beautiful setting with mature trees, fairways well maintained and some challenging greens . The pace was good probably because it was after 5 but managed to play 18 in less than 3:30hrs.walking . The tee boxes needs some tlc but that won’t stop me to play it again.

It had been years since I played at Royal 47 (formerly Royal Estates) golf course. It brought back memories from the late 80s when Bob N. built the course from an old field. The trees have grown in and made the course a narrow fairway, sharp shooter paradise. The tee boxes were tough, but with some TLC could be solid. The course was in good shape, greens were challenging. Not to mention the surprise water hazards, the swallowed a ball or two from our group. It was a little bit of a drive, but a decent course to play. We had no issues making a tee time. There is plenty of parking in the gravel parking lot. If you come, make sure you hit them long and straight!

First, I played for <$50 with a cart on the weekend. Hands down the best deal in Essex County. The fairways were average, the greens were pretty decent. Pace of play was good as well. My only real complaint was the tee boxes. A few of them were just awful. Trees overhanging just a few feet above the tee, can't find a level piece of ground within a club length of the markers, grass just destroyed everywhere you are legally allowed to tee up etc. Several area course have similar problems but this one is just about the worst. I'd still play there again at that price but if it went up to $55-65 like some of the other budget courses in the area, it just wouldn't be worth it.

Very cool old-style golf course. Nice track. The front 9 is tighter with a lot of trees and hilly, whereas the back 9 is longer, flatter, and more open. Really enjoyed the nostalgic feeling of this course. We’ll definitely be back.

I have heard about this course for many years and heard many good and bad things which kept us from playing here. Hearing that they were under new ownership we figured why not? So happy we did as it was a lot of fun for the price, which is great. My only gripe is that the tee boxes are horrible. Uneven and beat up, all of which are fixable. The course was pretty tight and the greens small and on the slow side, so it was a decent challenge for us. The beer carts were plentiful and reasonable so all in all we had a great experience.

Pace of play was horrible. Was almost hit by a ball 5 times. Course layout could be improved. Currently no liquor license. No yardage markers. Unlikely to return.

A golf course with great potential. It needs a good club house, clear signage at the entrance and clear direction from one hole to another. It can be a great course for families involved in golf. Very reasonably priced.

My son and I did the back 9 here. We both liked it quite a bit. The tee boxes are a bit rough but the course itself is great. The back 9 has an over 500 par 5 and some great 300 yard holes along with a couple shorties. We'll definitely play it again. The front 9 is allot shorter so it's balanced pretty well. $50 for 2 for 9 with carts, can't beat it.

Not a bad little knock around course , would be nice if they actually had hole markers on the tees telling you what hole it is. Greens are very small and not mowed as short as they should be. Price is right though 25 bucks for 9 and a cart and the Owner is a really nice guy.

Went here for the first time in probably 15 years. I was pleasantly surprised how the fairways and greens were. They were great. $49 for 18 holes and cart on the weekend. Played in like 3.5 hours, no wait at all. Would recommend and will be going back sometime again this year.

Over booked. 15 golfers waiting to tee off. 3 couples golfing together. Would recommend a starter. I love the course but shouldn't have taken 5 hours to play.

This course is pretty neat and really fun to play for the average golfer. I scraped out a hard fought 84 today but it was not without challenge and fun ! I'll be coming back to beat that 84 !!

I’m a pretty avid golfer and was impressed with the course. Like many say tee boxes need a little TLC but for the price it’s a nice little course that will challenge you.

This is a nice fun golf course for all levels. The course is very well laid out and it's in great shape. Royal Estate is semi private so its best to check in first at the club house for available tee times and mornings are best. They have carts and equipment and a licensed Clubhouse with kitchen. I find Royal Estate provides a relaxing golf round rather than over crowding the course and at a reasonable rate.
