There are so many amazing things to be said about the staff and venue! We recently had our wedding here and it was a dream-come-true!! The staff was always friendly and inviting and Courtney really knows how to organize a wedding! Our wedding ran has smoothly as weddings can with a few minor hiccups that were promptly addressed by staff. They did everything in their power to prep the outdoor ceremony after a lengthy rainstorm. Dinner service was prompt and the bartenders were very accommodating to the number of guests. Rearranging of the room to create a larger dance floor was flawless and no guest felt out of place. The guests are still raving about how delicious their meals were! Thank you SO much for such a wonderful day!!!

SMGCC delivered my dream wedding even in the midst of the crazy COVID times we're living in. The communication with staff was seamless from start to finish - I have nothing but great things to say about the whole experience of planning a wedding with this team! We used the Ballroom and the room was so picturesque and matched my simplistic/elegant design I had in mind. The sneak peak photos I received from my photographer of the photos we took on the golf course surely did not disappoint - the grounds are so picturesque, I loved that we didn't need to travel anywhere for photos, we had multiple spots on the property for amazing pictures. Not to mention, the price was reasonable compared to other vendors and the quality of food was PHENOMENAL (cannot stress this enough). Thanks so much for making my dream wedding come true!!!

We originally had to postpone our wedding due to COVID but the venue handled rescheduling it with class and professionalism. We got married in The Hideaway. I would give it a 5 star but I didn't actually end up booking with them so I probably don't have the full picture. The venue is GORGEOUS. Both rooms are beautiful and perfect for a wedding. The customer service we received when checking it out was so great and polite. Pricing for weddings is also very affordable and for what you get a really great deal. The only reason we didn't book is because we actually canceled our wedding. If we didn't I would have 100% booked here.

Unique course with an interesting layout. I’m pretty good condition with medium-fast greens. However, the service wasn’t the greatest. Some staff members were impolite while I was ordering and the starters were only concerned about timing. This is reflected by whoever is responding to the reviews. The customer is always right so you don’t have to explain the whole situation. If the customer feels like they didn’t get what they paid for, that’s a problem you can’t fix by responding to a review.

Recently here for a wedding, and it was an amazing place for the ceremony and the reception afterwards. The food was amazing, and I would recommend this event space. The staff were amazing when it came time to serving dinner, and setting up the late night station when everyone was on the dance floor. Was an amazing wedding!

The golf course was good. They renovated the club house in modern touch and I expected the food up graded but not really. very disappointed. Especially, never get Tacos!! Just one bite made all 4 people lose appetite.

The St. Marys Golf and Country Club is by far one of the best run facilities in St. Marys. As a non-golfer that has participated in a few Mixed and Ladies nights I can see why so many people love the course. It is beautiful and so well maintained. I've also had the pleasure of attending weddings in both of their wedding spaces, which were stunning. The staff have been welcoming and very polite in all of my interactions with them and demonstrate complete professionalism. Overall, it's a fantastic spot in town.

Came from London to play this course for the first time. It was a bit of a hike to get here but well worth the drive. Course was in great shape, very scenic and well maintained. Ranger was quite visible out on the course keeping things moving and ensuring golfers were following the rules.. Clubhouse staff very friendly and helpful, good food and beer. If you haven't played this course, I would definitely recommend it . I'm looking forward to come back and playing it again. Tip: check their website for special rates..

St Mary’s golf was a good golf course. My first time being here and the fairways are super wide open and forgiving for golfers who don’t hit the ball straight every time. It only took us 3 hours to golf after a night of drinking! My big problem was with the customer service person at the front desk. She was rude and uninviting!! Her tone didn’t seem friendly and one of the guys in purple was not very welcoming either! I also didn’t appreciate the grass cutter being told to cut the first hole when we were on it! The starter was very friendly and helped us with tips on the course with this being our first time! I will most likely return as the course seemed like a good course to play!

I have attended a wedding and golfed at St. Mary's Golf and CC. They host an impeccable wedding! The decor was fantastic, the staff were very professional and personable. The food was very fresh and tasted delicious. I was lucky enough to go inside the bridal suite, which is a beautiful, comfortable and classy space for the bride and her bridal party to get ready and relax. The wedding planner is so personable and wants the bride to have everything she dreamed of for her special day, down to the smallest of details. She is incredible! Golfing was a lot of fun too! The course is kept in fantastic shape. I especially enjoy the hole that has the inukshuk on it. It is such a lovely addition and gives a Northern Canadian feel to the atmosphere while golfing. I have also attended a pub night with live music. It was a lot of fun! The drinks were delicious and the food was equally yummy! The new menu is excellent! The staff at the course are excellent! They provide excellent customer service and go the extra mile to ensure their customers are happy. St. Mary's Golf and CC is a well rounded club which caters to everyones needs. Whether you're celebrating an event, attending a wedding, or just want to drop in for a bite to eat or some drinks, this is the place in town to go!

We had our wedding at SMGGC this past weekend, and it was the wedding of my DREAMS. The venue was absolutely perfect. Not only is the space stunning, but the staff are amazing to work with. Everyone was so friendly and personal, down to our bartenders and servers. We truly felt like we were the only wedding they were working. Hailey and Ashton were our wedding coordinators, and they truly took the best care of us. Working wit them was so personal it felt like we were working with friends and family. They made our day run so smoothly and took care of every single detail. When speaking to my other friends who are brides, I know we lucked out with how the staff treated us during the entire duration of planning our wedding. Chef Nathan was also so amazing! Pretty much all of our guests were raving about how amazing the food was, and he was also super friendly and personal! On multiple occasions, including the wedding, he came to talk with us and see if we needed anything and to just discuss the wedding. We were truly spoiled by the entire staff.

My husband and I got married in the Ballroom. After 3 postponements due to the pandemic, our 4th date was the charm; and my husband and I got married on October 8th, 2021. It is hard to put into words just how amazing the St. Marys Country Club is. Within the first few minutes of meeting Ashton at our initial consultation, I knew that they had something really special. What stands out to us with St. Marys is not just the beauty of the venue, or the quality of the food (seriously it is amazing) but the little touches, the attention to detail and how they treat you like part of the family. A few months after booking our wedding with them my Mom was diagnosed with cancer and my world felt like it was falling apart. My fiancé and I flew home from the U.K to be with my Mom as she began treatment. There just happened to be an open house while we were home and I emailed Ashton, explained the situation and if there would be a good time to come that would be a bit quieter. We didn’t know what the next year would bring and my Mom was determined she would come too. The kindness and love shown by Ashton and her team during this time still blows me away. It isn’t something you usually deal with while planning a wedding, but their emails checking in and asking how my Mom was really meant a lot to me. I told them I wanted the wedding to not only be a celebration of us getting married, but my Mom beating cancer and they set out to help me create that. No one tells you to plan for a pandemic, or how to plan a wedding during one. The team at St. Marys again went above and beyond in supporting us through this process and showing just what true professionals they are. They were so understanding of our concerns, communicated quickly and clearly outlining what steps they were taking to protect their staff and our loved ones. Hailey our wedding coordinator was brilliant, answered all our questions and gave us ideas that we would not have even thought of. While it may not have been what we originally planned, and not everyone could be there due to health concerns and the pandemic; we could not have asked for a more perfect day and they helped create that. Everyone had a wonderful time; and my niece keeps talking about the wedding and asking if she can go back. There were so many thoughtful details, they were brilliant with my niece and nephews, and they helped calm me while I was waiting to walk down the aisle. Everything ran so seamlessly. The food is another huge selling point of booking your wedding at St. Marys. It was such a nice touch when the Chef popped into the reception to speak with us. The food is outstanding, our guests are still talking about how good it was. Many saying it was the best they’ve ever hand and better than the finest restaurants. I am so thankful for all the support they gave me not only in planning the wedding but through my Mom’s illness. That meant the world to us. I cannot recommend St. Marys enough. 5 stars is not enough to rate them. The venue is gorgeous, the food is amazing, but they are true professionals who treat you like a member of the family.

My fiance and I are getting married at St. Mary's in November. They have been absolutely fantastic, detailed, responsive and helpful in planning around the current COVID pandemic. We have been kept informed about our options (without even asking and months before we need to make a final decision) and they have truly showed us how much they care and value their couples! We haven't even had our wedding here yet but I can say: If you want the small, family business, non-"wedding factory" type feel with all of the professionalism, respect and quality of a big time wedding venue, this is the best place!! We knew right away that this was the place we wanted to have our wedding, after being the first and only venue we went to see in person. Not to mention....the food is fantastic, the venue is gorgeous, the staff is amazing, they have so many options as far as packages, meal plans, etc. and they have kept me SO organized and on track for planning my wedding. We've had consults, filled out wedding packages with all our information, and they have literally walked us through every detail we needed to make our wedding a success (right down to the napkins)...and I still have 6 months until the wedding! I can't say enough good things about St. Mary's as a wedding venue...and we haven't even had our wedding here yet! I just wanted to make sure that the amazing wedding vendors that are working so hard during this unprecedented time are getting the recognition they deserve...and St Marys definitely deserves it. If you are looking for a wedding venue, you won't be disappointed. :) UPDATING THIS REVIEW: We just had our wedding and it was everything we could have ever dreamed of (even in 2020)!!! SMGCC staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of for the day. They were beside me every step of the way and they did so much in the background to help the day run smoothly. They checked in with me always and were just absolute joys to work with. We are a COVID wedding but we still maintain the sentiment that the wedding was the best day of our lives. The restrictions didn't take away from the day. If you are hesitant about moving forward....I say GO FOR IT! You will not regret it. We were able to spend so much time with our guests without feeling rushed. We can easily say that our wedding was the best day of our lives and if we could relive the day 1000 times over we would. Much of that is due to the wonderful staff at SMGCC. This venue will always be so special to us!!

• I was married at St Marys Golf & Country Club (SMGCC) on NYE of 2018. • Our ceremony was performed in the clubhouse and our reception was celebrated in the original wedding space, “the ballroom.” • Our overall experience with SMGCC was smooth, accommodating and professional. • Our wedding preparation was coordinated by Courtney. Courtney helped guide us through the numerous decisions required of a couple leading up to the day of the wedding. She was organized and prompt with her replies and was an integral part of planning our perfect wedding. • Our rehearsal, ceremony and reception were lead by Taryn. Taryn was fully informed of the choices we had made for our wedding, prepared for the questions we asked and able to guide us through all stages of our wedding with ease. • The kitchen and bar staff were well coordinated in bringing out guest-specific meals on time and with care. We had a number of dietary restrictions (veg, vegan, allergies) in our party of 130 people and SMGCC was well able to accommodate each request. Whew! • The microphone for the speeches was adjustable and worked well. There was a SMGCC staff member ready to adjust the volume, positioning if needed. During one of speeches a slideshow was used and SMGCC was easily able to accommodate the presentation by dimming the lights when the images were presented onto a large blank wall. • We had a solo guitarist play during our ceremony and a live band play during our reception. There were no setup, positioning, or general acoustics concerns at all. The banquet was bumpin! • It is clear that SMGCC is now a “well-oiled wedding machine’ and is able to seamlessly host large wedding ceremonies and receptions but they don’t lose sight of the value of a personal touch. We truly felt that each staff member was invested in making this a special day for us and our guests. • A special thank you goes out to a SMGCC staff member, Rebecca, for going above and beyond in accommodating my 94 year old grandfather during a brief pre-wedding visit we had. She was attentive, professional and my grandfather still speaks about her hospitality months later! Thanks again. • Another special thank you to Matt and Ashton Staffen for all of their efforts and ensuring our day was a success.

This is a must play course! So much fun! The hills, slopes, craters, etc make this course somewhat challenging but such an exciting round! I recommend getting a cart but it’s definitely walkable. They also have an outdoor patio that we did not have time to check out but it looked like the perfect place to have a pop after a round! We will definitely return to play 18 and have some dinner afterwards!

Everything was Perfect, the staff, food, coordinator, the venue, absolutely everything, it was so effortless, we just showed up that's all. Most beautiful Venue and people ever. Friends and family still to this day talk about how the Ceremony view was breathtaking, and apparently we have set a new high for weddings lol The ballroom looked amazing and everything was so organized, it was so intimate. An old buddy from Belleville contacted me ,he was coming down to London [where I live] And he said he wanted to get together for a golf game. We had not played together for many years.He saw a promotion and asked about playing at Forest city. In my view I prefer St Mary's course instead. He drove about 5 hours to St Mary's course, we had a fun day ,He really liked the course. It's my favorite place to golf, a good challenging course, and nice people too!

If there were an option for 6 stars, we wouldn't hesitate! My husband and I recently got married in September at the Hideaway venue, and SMGCC exceeded all of our expectations. We had 140 people at our wedding and the Hideaway space allowed for plenty of room! The Hideaway also has excellent acoustics and the garage doors kept the airflow alive during the cocktail hour (then the air conditioning kept everyone cool during the reception on one of the hottest days of the year!). The modern setting allowed my pinterest ideas come to life and the grounds were the. perfect. place. to take newlywed photos immediately following the ceremony. When looking for venues, none of them really jumped out at us for quite some time (and we visited a lot of venues!). When we stepped foot into the clubhouse at SMGCC, it had a warm feeling. Then, we met with Ashton and her wedding team. After our first meeting, the first words that my husband-to-be at the time and I exchanged, were, "yep, this is it!". Ashton, Courtney and Taryn listened to and were so supportive of every idea, concern and detail. They were always so fun to talk to, made us laugh and there were never any awkward moments (which happens to my husband and I much too often!). Walking into the wedding planning experience was daunting at the time, but Ashton and Courtney were my wedding coordinators and walked me through each step of the way, making the experience so enjoyable. They understand all the subtleties and nuances of a wedding that I couldn't possibly anticipate. They also gave ideas for including certain details (e.g. slideshow, wine labels, etc.) that our guests enjoyed. My husband was especially impressed with the food tasting and Jason's (main chef's) talent, that I had to roll him out of the country club! According to several of our guests, three words to describe our wedding would be: classy, relaxed and warm. We feel a part of the SMGCC family and feel so grateful to have come across this amazing place. We look forward to several rounds of golf and apres golf activities with SMGCC in the future! My brother had his wedding at this venue, I’d give them 10 stars if I could. The service was impeccable in every way! They were fully organized and prepared down to every little detail. Staff was extremely polite, attentive and helpful, and the food was amazing!!! They also have beautiful scenery for photos. Just got home from a round. Beautiful little course. Everything was is great condition except the traps. Not very sandy! Greens were a little fast but slowing as it got hotter. Marshall was great and helpful. Greens stuck. Will for sure play here again. Soon!

It was a pleasure working with the team at St. Mary's Golf and Country Club for our wedding. They went above and beyond to make our special day, even more special. They were very organized from the beginning, always responding to emails and requests in a timely fashion. From being on top of everything from the start, to all the little details ahead of time and making sure everything ran smoothly the day of, they really did deliver. We also had some extra food requests for our midnight buffet, and those were a hit, everyone loved it! Both of their wedding venues are unique and beautiful and there are many places around for beautiful photography. Thank you for everything!

I was a member at SMGCC for over 10 years and the course was always in immaculate condition. The greens are always in pristine shape and the fairways are freshly cut on a regular basis. Overall, a top notch, championship golf course in Ontario. I have also had the pleasure of attending multiple weddings in both of their venues, most recently "The Hideaway". The new venue is spectacular, with high wooden beam ceilings and a modern open air concept during cocktail hour. The food never disappoints and is better then most high end restaurants. Good work SMGCC, can't wait to be back!

I was onsite at SMGCC for a friend's wedding and was treated horribly by one of the wedding coordinators there (Courtney I believe her name was). She was rude, short and dismissive to not only me and other guests but to her coworkers in front of myself and other guests. I was shocked by her demeanour and was even considering hosting my 2018 wedding in their new location. If this is the type of coordinator's that you have on staff, I would never even consider hosting my big day here and because of her behaviour and treatment, have booked elsewhere.
