Camping is a huge business and Rockwood park has so much potential. Im surprised the city hasn't looked into investing money in relocating the camping area to the other side of the park where the 2 huge parking lots are located and through the wooded area. Doing this will provide a water view, swimming area, and further away from the noise of the highway and railway. This would revitalize camping Rockwood park.

This park is a real treasure located in the heart of the city! It encompasses miles of trails, lakes for swimming and non motorized boating (rentals available), fishing, a children's playground and picnic areas. It also boasts a camping area for RV's and tenting along with an interpretation centre and a pavilion with outdoor deck, casual dining and space for wedding receptions and other functions. This is a must see destination in Saint John.

Its the one of the only places i went moutain biking, but it was also the best! They have a ton of big trails and even a couple pump tracks! I would highly recommend going there to mountain bike!

I run in this park almost every day. It is a peaceful, quiet place to get away from all the city traffic and exhaust fumes and run is fesh air. There are plenty of well cared for trails for hiking or biking. Also Lily Lake and the Fisher Lakes are great lakes for recrational swimming of even competitive swimming with the Rockwood Park Triathlon. Nestled on Lily Lake is a multipurpose facility with Banquet rooms, meeting rooms, restaurant, changing rooms for swimmers or runners. There is an interpretation centre for visitors and a RV/Trailer park for longer term visitors. This park is withing the city limits and very close to the downtown business district. Enjoy sports, and recreation here in Saint John, NB

Beautiful park! It's one of my favourite places to go! I love visiting the duck pond (there is a mated pair of ducks that I call Earnest and Margaret, he's always chasing the other guys away from her) The trails are lovely and the whole park is very well kept with little to no garbage.

Great park and amazing playground. This summer, we had been advised to stay out of the water due to ringworm which was a bit of a downer but the lifeguards let us know PRIOR to going in so kudos to them. Camping there is a great time. Very clean, quiet, family friendly spot.

A lovely park walking distance from downtown Saint John, NB. There is a lake surrounded by a running track and pleasant walkways. It also has an excellent restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. There also a serviced RV park which includes several unserviced text campsites.

I attended my cousin's wedding here in the summer time. It was a beautiful location, great facilities and an amazing staff. I was also fortunate to have stumbled upon the memorial for the day of mourning. It was a wonderful day!

Beautiful park with lovely walking trails & nice picnicking places throughout. The trails are well maintained & there is a sweet little petting farm in the center of the park. However at sunset the park brings out some pretty scary personalities & is not policed well enough. I wouldn't walk the trails alone thru the day or go at night. We went to sit on the water side bench to enjoy the evening air & watch the ducks. We just got parked when a man in his early to mid 30's knocked on our windows asking if we were looking for company. We politely told him "No" and he walked away. As we were walking toward the lake we noticed the man lurking around our vechile which made us uncomfortable so we decided to leave. Thankfully the sun was still bright enough that we were comfortable walking to our vechile. The man saw us coming back towards our vechile and approached us again asking if we changed our minds. When we said "No" again; he became agitated/put his hood up muttered some vulgar words. At that point we sounded our car alarm in hopes to scare him off & "THANKFULLY IT WORKED "!!! This seems to be a common problem when visiting the park as I've had several people tell me they have had similar experiences thru day & night. Its a shame as it would be a truly a lovely place to spend a evening star watching or relaxing on one of the many lakeside benches. Its too bad the city doesn't put money into the park policing or security.

The lily Lake Pavillion is where Lily's Cafe is. The food is very good and you can dine in the Cafe or dine outside and it is beautiful watching the lake and seeing people swimming .canoeing, riding on the water cycle and plus they have bikes to ride around the park. It's beautiful. A great place to BBQ and spend an afternoon. This is one of my favorite places.

A nice place to spend time with family or alone . Beautiful walking trails on some trail you got to see a lot nature including animals and feed birds. Bike track includes a small shop with some basic handy tool if you want to fix any problem of your bike. Excellent park for kidds to play . Horse hut is an added site seing place. Fishing on the lakes of this park is an excellent experience and safe if you are with young kids. Better facility at beach some time you even see the life guards too. Many places for BBQ. Trailer park what an upscale value.. I think of more public washrooms with a slight better facility can be added this place will be rockstar of the parks.

Iv always loved walking threw the trails with my boyfriend and my dog. But people aren't cleaning up after their dogs very well.. And there was white foam like pollution in the water.. Then you look across the lake and see children swimming in it. I remember when I was a kid people would say it wasn't the cleanest place but now it really isn't. I just stopped going because all the poop everywhere makes it so my dog can't really walk around like he wants and I also won't let him swim there so no more rockwood for us.. Really hope they fix this some how I don't think or city could afford a loss like rockwood park

Very big divided section parc. Beautiful. Relaxing. One way drive. Clean. But no public washroom. The one we saw was the chemical toilet. Must bring your own chair if you want to sit. Only one Gazibo with fixed table. Just take care when you have kids. The lake and little water cascades.

Many trails with a wide range of difficulty levels and lengths. I was very impressed in the winter to find that the trails were groomed almost entirely throughout, making for a great snowshoeing experience. There are dedicated "off-leash" trails for those with dogs, and all trails have good signage without taking away from the experience of being out in the woods. A favourite place of mine.

Rockwood Park is a gem within the gray rocky Saint John area. The park, with many accessible features, offers something for people of all ages, diverse interests and abilities. Much of the park is centered around Lily Lake, were fishers, swimmers and canoers share the water with a variety of birds and other wildlife. Deer sightings are common in the park. Many trails are available for walkers, joggers, and cyclists. The lake side restaurant offers good food in a calm and scenic location. Accessible public washrooms can be found in the same building.

My mom and I rented a paddle boat and after spinning in circles for a few minutes they actually taught us how to steer and we had a great time. I love the trails here and all the spots for fishing and swimming. The play ground is great and my dog Gracie loves the dog park.

Lots of free parking. I would also recommend the satellite trails by the Cherry Brook Zoo for an alternate, more 'off the beaten path', and slightly less busier trail system.

I love coming here with my dog! It isn't over crowded so we really enjoy the time outdoors and bonding on a nature trail. The downfall is there isn't much places to find a doogy bag stand. So make sure you pack those with you along with everything else you normally pack.

What a great park! Lovely dog friendly trails. A large lake (I'm pretty sure fresh water), and a restaurant with good reviews. There is also a camping area. I didn't see much in the way of a playground, but admittedly I didn't get to explore the whole area. Definitely worth a visit.

What is there to say? There is a trail and it was walkable. Signage is a bit off, both entrances/exits to the trail I walked read "do not enter". Of no consequence really, I walked it anyway.

Great trails. Its just a shame that many dog owners can't be bothered to pick up their dog's poop and clearly don't have any respect for the park or other park users. It is disgusting that this beautiful park is just a toilet for pets!! These people should be fined. Otherwise ban the dogs.

My son and I love spending time here in the walking trails, on the beach, playgrounds and mountain bike trails. Only downside is that there are no longer working bathrooms nor any food or drink sales in the Fisher Lakes area. The portable toilets are not cleaned often enough. The park is a beautiful piece of our city though and should be celebrated ♡ there is a nice stable of horses on site run by the best people possible. They are very selfless and giving and do an amazing job. If you're visiting the city you need to come check this place out. Pack a few cold drinks and snacks. Lifeguards on duty are absolutely sweet as pie with the kids.

Loved our stay. Pull through are sunny, but lots of shady back ins, the central main lot is open gravel with easy on and out access. Lots of back in spots, shady and some work commanding views of the town of St John.

I love going to Rockwood for walks or drives, or to bring my toddler to the Kiwanis Playground or the stables to see the horses. I would give 5 stars if the playground was fixed up a bit, it is great but a few things could be fixed and touched up.

Rockwood park, I have so many fond memories in this park from when I was a kid and the park itself has only gotten better. They have tons, and I mean tons of walking trails, fenced dog parks, a restaurant, swimming, loads of awesome biking trails with a dedicated trail building crew. I spend a lot of my summer in there biking. There is something to do for the whole family!

Lovely park with surprisingly wild nature. We saw deer several times. Some of the trails are under construction, but the path is still well indicated. Some trails are marked as being extra challenging - we didn't have time to go that far, but it would be interesting to see just how challenging we're talking about! There's a cool cave just at the beginning of Pugsley (not sure I spelled it right) trail.

Some nice trails for small children, or taking dogs for walks, etc. Skating in the winter. Very scenic. There is a restaurant called Lily's right on the water as which which is quite nice.

Rockwood Park is beautiful. I love it there, they have a few pot holes that they should fix up but other than that, they are doing a great job. I especially like the fact that they are asking people to stop feeding the ducks, since then now the place looks cleaner and the water seems more clear.

Very clean park. Well maintained. We walked around the lake on the gravel pathways. Would be a nice place to bike as well. Numerous benches along the way to sit and take in all of the nature and just watch the birds and squirrels.

Nice park for nature walks. You can walk on pavement or hit a few nice trails. Trails are decent for mountain biking too but not for kids since they have a lot of big hills.

This place is great for swimming, fishing, picnics, having BBQs, nature trails and seeing local wildlife. There is also a playground here. My kids and I love it here. It's our go to place for a relaxing fun day. Wish I was there right now. ????

Very beautiful park, the Lily Lake restaurant is correct, you can have a beer facing the lake, or go for a hike in Rockwood ... You can also come and swim in some lakes, such as Lily Lake, or Fishers Lake ! Lots of does walk in the forest of Rockwood it's really great to see ... What I find really unfortunate is that in the restaurant they put very loud music on the terrace outside, unfortunately that's enough unpleasant while looking at the landscape but otherwise the park is great! Thank you !

One of my favorite places to go for walks and adventures! Surrounded by many little bodies of water, beautiful trees, well kept trails, dog parks, children parks, beaches to swim, a gorgeous restaurant, outdoor skating rink (on the lake) and more! Beautiful park with great hiking trails. I haven't been on the bike paths yet but I hope to soon. Plenty of very pretty views and wildlife. Watching the ducks and geese in the water is a very relaxing way to kill some time if you're in the area. They have facilities if you need to "go" which is also nice.

The trails I walked on were fairly well marked , this was helpful since Im new to the park and trails joined up with other trails. This could be confusing if not well marked. Also very clean!

Great campground but the view of the city wasn't great from our vantage point. Excellent walking/hiking trails available , just ask the friendly staff at the front booth. Bathroom is clean but no bench to put clean clothes in the shower area. Laundry room.

This park has been improved so much since I was a child. I'm glad to see the life restored to it. Clean and we'll maintained. Endless trails, great playground, and a nice beach. My only complaint is that the dog run is quite small and is not very suitable for more then a few dogs.

This is a "must visit" for anyone visiting the city young or old! Many trails, a dog park and a great restuarant (Lily's on the lake) which is actually a not-for-profit restaurant (but dont let that fool you, the quality is great!). Awesome patio that allows dogs and provides their own personal waterbowl. Supervised beach for swimming in the summer, canoe rentals, rock climbing and a spa. It also serves as a wedding venue! The reason I didnt give 5 stars is for 2 reasons: not enough garbage cans considering dogs are allowed and because directional signage is poor (easy to get lost). Especially if you are directionally challeneged like me :p

An amzing place for everyone , from rock climbing to biking ( Amazing trails and park.) To novis ealking trails well groomed and paved sections as well.They have anything that prettymuch floats and an amazing helpful staff . Check out the information station ... One time they had turtles in there . fun for the whole fam from adrénaline seekers to a beautiful view while grabbing a bite and maybe a couple refreshments. :)

I would say Rockwood Park is one of the most under appreciated spots in town. Great walking trails, a dog park, several beaches, mountain bike trails, playgrounds, Lily's Cafe, kayak rentals, free skating with lights at night. Would recommend finding your way up to the lookout that overlooks the city.

Rockwood Park is like the heart of the city. Beautiful, clean, and full of green. Fantastic place to take your family, including your pet! There is a dog park on site along with a lake that is pet friendly for swimming, a playground for children, trails that go for miles, hidden caves, a beautiful golf course, a campground, and restaurant that has the best homemade desserts!!! Whether you want to walk and enjoy the beautiful sceneries, or kayak/paddle on the lake, play in the sand, eat out at a nice restaurant with a gorgeous view, or go play in a great park with the kids, everything is there! The bathrooms are a bit difficult to find though
