Enjoyed walking around. Too bad Bower Ponds recreation facility closes during the day. It was beautiful enough to go out in the paddle boats. Enjoyed meeting the muskrat and playing with some camera filters.

Great Chief Park and Bower Ponds is probably the most well know and popular park in Red Deer. Skate on the pond during winter, peddle boat on in the summer. Walking paths in great condition, and a very well looked after playground. Just a great park if you want to go for a walk and not spend forever getting there or walking.

Lots of walking trails, very pretty, playground for children, skating is available in winter(check hours) skate rentals. Outdoor shared fire pits in winter for skaters- very cozy! Bring marshmallows / Smores Skating is great...????

Playground needs to be cleaned once in a while. There are spiderwebs everywhere and get on children's hands and clothes. And beware of the geese!

This is the Cronquist house, at great chief park. This is the house decorated for a Christmas party! And an example of some of the delicious food they offer. Fairly priced. Free parking. Handicap accessible. Except the bathroom. Located in Bower ponds area. A hidden gem.

Beautiful park, with lovely walking paths. Kids like the playground area, the equipment is nice but gets a bit crowded. Peddleboat rentals, and I believe a concession, although we didn't go in. Winter is just as good, with skating on the pond, and a warm building to put your skates on, this also gets very crowded on nice weekends. Large parking lot, so I have not personally had an issue finding a parking spot, and there was a wedding happening the last time I was there.

Well maintained ice surface, great tobogganing hill, awesome playground. The building for putting on skates and such is a little cramped but does have everything you need. There's also a firepit and picnic area. Bring your skate guards so you don't have to walk across the cement with your blades! Fabulous place for summer activities too with walking trails, paddleboats and canoeing, outdoor concerts, and a huge Canada day outdoor festival.

Beautiful little park. Picnic tables and bathrooms available. There is a concession available too. Availability to rent paddle boats and inflatable ball. Geese around so watch put for poop everywhere. If you have a little one and your potty training it's a hike to go back and forth to the playground and bathrooms in time. The playground is very nice with a soft landing pad afoot.

Such an awesome playground had my little guy going for hours. I really like the new rubber ground that been put down so it's easier on kids when they wipe out. Now bathrooms are not close by. Be prepared if there is a accident.

I always just called this bower ponds but I guess there is lots more to the park as well. Nice clean place to walk or bike with the family, restaurant to grab a quick bite to eat and lots of places to sit down for a picnic.

Great baseball diamonds with lots of available parking. Only thing needed is a concession stand of some sort. If you need water or a snack you're out of luck.

Excellent recreation area. Ball diamonds and pathways. Easy to access and usually good parking. Facilities are in great shape with new building taken place in 2017. There are facilities such as bathrooms and lil snack shop (seasonal) Some public transport nearby. Boat launch and bike path access as well. Private golf course across from park. Bower ponds is also adjacent to the park.

One of the most beautiful places in Red Deer. If you love sports, there is a ton of great things to do. The baseball park and football field are second to none. They are mixed right in with Bower Ponds to make for a stunning setting. The football field has lots of seating in the stands and a great view of the whole field.

It's a good place for outdoor picnic style functions. A good amount of space as well. The main shelter requires reservation and the washrooms are a bit of a jaunt. They used to provide free firewood but that was abused out of existence.

I took my son in his stroller for a walk at Bower ponds today and yes, very beautiful, but some of the trails were nearly impassable due to snow and slush.

Visited in January 2017. Chaotic construction ongoing. Will it never stop? Roads torn up, paths destroyed, too much heavy duty machinery since March of 2016. This used to be a wonderfully tranquil place to experience a quiet moment. I hope it will return to that status again.
