Great Course for a Muni, bar and grill does a great job with broad menu.
Black Gold Golf Course is a stunning backdrop for homes nearby, as a realtor I am grateful my clients enjoy the views of the 17th hole from their Toll Brothers Home. Thank you Black Gold for keeping your course green. Carla G. Luxury Real Estate Agent and mom of Villa Park High School Captain of the Men's Golf Team.
They are changing their membership rules. They are trying to become semi-private. It’s almost impossible to get tee times.
I was here a couple of weeks ago to MC and DJ a wedding, this place is very beautiful. The staff was extremely helpful and paid attention to every detail. The are fit the ceremony was gorgeous and the reception hall was very beautiful.
Course was pristine.. liked it so much my friends and I played it twice in one week.
Nice course, friendly staff
Beautiful Golf Course, very nice place to have a party..????????????
Black Golf is ALWAYS Fun to play...Very professional staff and affordable too! The course is always in Great condition! Can't say enough good things about Black Gold!!! ????????????®️
I enjoyed this course with my son. This course layout was varied and entertained us a lot. All the staff are kind. I want to challenge this course again.
Very nice golf course, friendly staff. Nice landscape, good food. Good value for money spent.
Course was built around multi million dollar homes. Impressive layout, majestic views and very narrow. Bring extra balls if you don't hit straight as fairways are lined with weeds and canyons. There are some very challenging holes and a very nice finishing hole. Green fees are steep so be prepared to shell out more than $100. Course conditions are good although greens were just recovering from being aerated. Definitely worth playing if you have not had the opportunity just to enjoy the overall experience. Personally, I suggest playing Westridge down the road a few miles for half the green fees and a similar layout.
Great place to host an event.
Played here several times and the course has always been in great condition although some greens were bumpy and slow. Reasonably challenging from blue and white tees and pace of play was good. Good restaurant and bar but getting a snack and drink after 9th hole had been almost impossible. Very slow service and wait time was more than 15 minutes even for ready hotdogs and soda with no other people in line at window. This happened a few times. Buy your snacks and drinks when you start out else you will be late at hole 10.
Fun course. Can be tight of the tee if you don't hit it straight. Lots of elevation changes, love that I need every club. Greens and course we're in great shape. Clubhouse has good food.
Nice layout fairways and greens are not up to par for the price they charge to play.
Beautiful views and challenging course. Make sure you bring a few extra balls. The greens are great but hard to read. This is definitely not a course for beginners.
Great food, great service. Great patio atmosphere
Some nice improvements since I last played here. Food was good at breakfast and very good at lunch.
Beautiful course that really wraps around the landscape. Definitely need a cart! Between some holes is very long but the views are great!
Hard course but very cool place
Nice location with some great views of Yorba Linda. Staff is very attentive to visitors. Well maintained fairways.
Very nice course overall but in my opinion there is wayyyy to much crab grass. Tough golf course that leaves you with some interesting shots. Practice putting green is on the side of a hill which makes it impossible to really get a feel for …
Always a great Golf Course to play. It's in very good shape. Highly recommended
Beautiful views, a finely manicured course with spacious greens that were very challenging. Visited while on vacation so I rented clubs, nice set of TaylorMade.
The course is in great shape. The greens excellent and like lightning if you haven't played there before. Bunker sand is nice and fluffy. Played on time all day. No waiting. Food is not cheap but good. Pastrami was dry. Look forward to playing there again.
Black Gold Golf Club is a beautiful course surrounded by spectacular views in nearby Yorba Linda. This 18-hole, par-72 championship course is suitable for all levels, but also has a few fun challenges. These include water features and elevation changes to keep any game interesting. The golf carts are modern and come with built-in GPS systems and the driving range and putting green are lit up at night. A wide variety of dishes are available at breakfast, lunch and dinner at Derrick’s Restaurant.
Greens the best I've played on this year. Course conditions were stellar. Service was outstanding, driving range amazing as well. You can't go wrong here.... I'd definitely come back!
Awesome course but not suited for high handicap golfers. Many holes with unplayable OB on both sides of the fairway.
SLLLLLLOOOOWWWWW!!!!! For what they charge they really need to space that he times a little bit more instead of doing every 5 minutes and sending out 5somes. Course condition Was great
Enjoyed the Sea Bass fish tacos and a beer with my husband on a beautiful afternoon, watching the golfers finish their rounds.
Beautiful Golf Course. Knowledgeable, Courteous and Helpful staff throughout the establishment. From the valet taking control of the situation when you first pull up, until you exit the clubhouse finding your golf cart loaded with …
The main reason I go to Black Gold is for the driving range. Price per bucket is a couple dollars more than average, but it is close to my house so its a good trade-off. The openness gives a more natural course feel and distance markers are stationed well. They don't always have rubber tees out but you can hit off the grass just in front of the mats if you don't have one of your own. Overall, its a good range for a decent price.
Awesome course (my home course). If you have a difficult time hitting fairways, grab your self a bucket of balls before the round and don't forget to refill the bucket before the back nine. Beautiful, well maintained golf course but low margin for error on fairways. Greens are moderate to large but mountain side will also challenge your putter and your perception of what is considered a break.
First, pace of play was excellent, never had to wait on any holes or saw group in front or back after first tee. Course was in great shape. Greens firm, fast, and putt true .Did not see any major issues with tee boxes or fairways looked great to me. Really like course layout, sometimes helpful and sometimes punishing you don't hit in the correct part of the Fairway or green Employees are always top class, pleasant, and make you feel welcomed.
What a let down... For a mid day price of 95$ I expected a much greater level of course quality. …
Course was well maintained and the greens were fast and clean. Challenging layout with some really tight fairways and a lot of elevation changes.
Their fish tacos are the most awesome fish tacos I've ever eaten in my life you see a golf course and you see a restaurant and you don't really think the restaurants that good until you get there everything I've eaten here has been incredible I just had the fish tacos and they were phenomenal.
Fun course. Not the easiest - lots of hills, rough is not easy to hit out of, and greens are tricky. Overall a good time.
I have played public golf all over the country, with home base being Chicago. Maybe we are spoiled in the midwest, but I spent a whole week searching for a nice public course in orange county and am yet to find it. I paid $150 for a 9am tee time on Saturday at Black Gold, which locals told me was the "gold" standard for public golf in the area. Layout was cool. Tee boxes were too long, they didn't have the back tees in so I had to make my own because playing 6400 yards isn't fun for me. Fairways and rough were inconsistently cut all over the course. Wasn't egregious but it was very obviously lacking. Greens rolled to about an 8. Cups hadn't been changed in multiple days. If I'm paying $150 for a round of golf, I expect an elite public golf experience. In it's current condition, Black Gold wouldn't be able to charge $75 a round in Chicago. Like I said, maybe I'm spoiled in the midwest, but this was not a good experience. Next time I come back I might have to sack up and hit monarch or pelican. If they got the greens above a 10, I would give this course 4 stars.
Loved this course. Nice and clean. Beautiful views. The food is great also!
Beautiful course and plays fair. Pro shop staff is great and the staff in course are friendly as well. Beverage cart staff are a welcomed sight and have a pretty good selection of beverages, snacks and sandwiches to choose from. Food has …
Beautiful course in the hills of Yorba Linda. Not a long course, but challenging with undulating Fairways and greens and the need for strategic play. Course in good condition except aerated greens (which we knew about before hand). It gets hot out here with no shade so bring sunscreen and hats! Can get expensive and backed up on weekends.
Grounds are very nice and well maintained. Banquet staff is really friendly and helpful. Banquet rooms are nice, big windows with lovely views. Nice patios and outdoor furniture. Parking is good and very safe.
We paid $98 to play on a Sunday at 7 a.m. the greens were fantastic, golf cart was nice with the ability to order a snack at the turn. Unfortunately they did not have our order ready and asked us to settle 4 something different. Greens are …
Absolutely beautiful course. Played from the blue tee box at just over 6700 yards was a bit tough, but lots of fun as well.
My husband and I and another couple went for dinner outside of the clubhouse on Monday evening. We go often as our husbands are members. My husband ordered the nachos and I have to say they were horrible. We’ve had better at a Angel game. Just tortilla chips with jar cheese dribbled all over the chips. Needless to say they sat there untouched. We love the atmosphere and cocktails but I’ll be eating at home before going up for now on. The food really needs a good chef.
The course was in great condition, greens were little fast, pace of play was great. ????% go again.
My husband and I had our wedding ceremony at Black Gold on 08-08. We had an afternoon ceremony (5pm). It's such a lovely outdoor space for a ceremony and the photos came out great! We highly recommend this venue especially as you get Joni, …
It's a canyon course with bunch of undulations and blind shots. If course is in good condition it's a fair to middling play. I've played it in good condition and bad (they won't tell you). Often they pack the course out and the rounds are 5-6 hrs it's not worth it. Short par 4 followed by back to back par 3s do not help pace at all.
Regular community course, a bit pricey, condition is good but not excellent
It was my 1st time playing here and I was impressed with the facility, the staff, and the course. The greens had just gotten aerated so I took advantage of the reduced fee to play here.
Love to go to Black Gold Golf Course restaurant. The view is spectacular and the food is tasty. Last week We went for breakfast just because Fred our server was working. He is the very best kind of man. He cannot do enough for each and every person he tends. Everything about Black Gold is excellent.
Well kept fairways and challenging green. Open wide landing zone for most of holes. Pretty nice residential properties surrounding and great Mountain View. Excellent starter staffs, polite, detail and friendly, hole to hole direction signs more clear, I’ll definitely rate it a five star course.
Always enjoy playing here at Blackgold, really nice course with a lot of views and of course is challenging specially if you’re playing the blues!
Went to the driving range with my uncle and brothers-in-law and it was beautiful! A little pricey but worth it.
Black Gold was awesome today eventhough the weather precluded us from completing the 18 holes. We had lunch and then resumed the last 6 holes. It was hailing and raining pretty hard around 3pm. We still managed to get 15 holes in. Great work guys!
Was here for a Christian women's conference and was very impressed with helpfulness of all the staff and to top it off the best pot roast I have ever eaten out
Beautiful course. Lots of green and the scenery was superb.
(10/19/21) This track is very challenging, even for a single digit handicapper! Conditions are normally excellent, however prices can be very steep during the weekends or early morning times. This course is well rounded, but not worth …
