You can tell it's an older "cottage country" style course. Simple layout, not many bunkers. Lots of the greens are defended by trees, making it hard to reach some holes in 2 if you hit a wayward tee shot. Fun course, good value for your money.

Brad Montgomery

The course is ok for the money and I like to go play here when I take less experienced friends so we don't hold up large groups. Pace of play is decent, no marshalls or beverage cart any of the times we've played there. Fairly flat moderately open course. The proshop staff is always friendly and polite. The reason I rank this a 3 is because the bridges are in serious disrepair, the lack of cart path and minimal signage is confusing and the tee boxes are inconsistent. Some are well maintained, others are basically mounds of packed down dirt and some are overgrown to the point the grass is as long as the rough.

Fair prices and the cart girls come around often. Greens are amazing, fun course

Ian Skoczylas

Love this course!

mike stephenson

I won't be back if the price is still $57 to golf and ride on the weekend.

Wendy Russell

The weather was perfect on the last day of the 2020 season. The marshal was super helpful in detailing some of the hole directional issues and that made our round very easy to navigate. The course was in good shape for November except for the bridges over water, which need replacing. The price was very reasonable. We had a great round!

Sorel Pennie

Lovely value golf course. Unpretentious and well kept. There are a couple bunkers and greens under construction, but diverse holes and great vibe.

Beautiful layout! Worth the drive.

Sanden McNally

Can't beat this course for the money. Nice long course in decent shape that's playable for beginners but challenging for more advanced players.

Roger Beauvais

It's ok if your on a budget and don't care much about a manicured course. Good for beginners also.

Was a swamp, should have worn my boots. On the bright side, we played alone, no one else on the course. Each playing a couple balls. Got our money's worth to comp the wet socks. Can see the course is being worked on, looking forward to seeing what new mgt does. Will be back later in the summer.

Don't waste your time. This course is garbage. The ground is really dry, the greens are awful & the T-boxes are in the WORST locations. The score card map is incorrect too. T boxes should be after the hole you played, instead this course decided that literally the T box should be before the hole you hit half the time, so you have to drive backwards to get to the next hole! Had to ask for refund, could not play full 18. Course was horrible. Don't waste your time, not even worth 20$ to play.

Ward Smith

Nice golf course and very reasonable prices.

Shot back 9 with my kids. Excellent value. Fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Really quiet, little road noise, I really noticed when my kids hushed when I was on the tee blocks and all I could hear was the birds and animals in the background. One of the better courses price and condition wise we've had a chance to try this summer.

Great little course, quiet and challenging but not impossible layout for a beginner golfer.

Larry Pickard

I like what I'm seeing lately. Great value for $1 a hole. Being the old guy ( mid 70s), I don't enjoy the hazards near the 200yds mark. I always go for it but very seldom make it.

Matthew Kelly

Good value.

The course is difficult to follow if you have never golfed here before. The bridges across the Jock River are sub-par and although there are steel beams across the river the wooden structures with rubber mats are very primitive and do not give you a confidence factor. Fairways and approaches are pretty rough .Greens are very well maintained and in excellent shape. The green fess are very well priced! This course has potential but needs 1- functional watering system for the fairways ,2- Redo the bridges both functionally and aesthetically 3- better directions from Fairway to fairway.

Lovely location. Course reopened after a few years but is well playable now, and excellent value.

5-stars for a country course, for overall natural beauty, pricing and staff service (including restaurant). Maybe 3-4 if you are comparing it to courses that are 2-3x the price. Beautiful drive to get there and decent challenge of play for any golfer. Delicious and well-priced BBQ style food when done. Super-friendly service from the pro-shop to course, to dining room. Best of all, kids under 14 play free ANYTIME when playing with paying adults. Will definitely return!

Great hidden gem and not busy at all. Highly recommend it

The course was in his shape. However, we had one of the Assistant Pro's behind us with his friends and they had music blasting.... Doesn't say allot about the place! The course itself was not bad however

The course is undergoing some construction but they've lowered the prices considerably to more than make up for the inconvenience. Fairways are dry and brittle, but given the lack of rain this is to be expected. The greens were actually green, and in very good shape. Staff are super friendly and the beer cart came around often enough. There's a new golf pro this year, which I think is making a difference. Also noticed really cool new hand carved tee boxes. Nice touch! Hope to come back soon.

Aaron Menchions

Most tee boxes are as long as my lawn and uneven, and the fairways are fairly shaggy as well. The greens had lots of sand on them, wish I had known that before playing. I had to clean my ball after putting out every time. Also, the price vs. quality ratio is a bit off, almost $40 on the weekend. However, all the staff members I ran into were very plesant, and on the upside it's not a busy course, so you're not rushed. Might go back for another "last minute" game, but probably will look elsewhere otherwise.

The 5 star reviews can’t be for real. It’s been a long time since I’ve been on this course and it used to be decent but not sure what happened. The front 9 and especially hole #5 is a disaster. I’ll post a picture next time I play there and you could be the judge. The course is hard to follow and it seems backwards and it’s easy to end up on the wrong hole. We found two holes with missing markers. If you have a bad back be careful when your driving between holes. Those carts won’t last long. In all fairness it’s Covid and it’s a decent course for beginners, it’s priced ok but I don’t mind paying a bit more for a better over all experience. At a minimal please repair the pathways between holes, the bridges and that # 5 is an embarrassment.

Paul McConkey

This course is great bang for the buck. Generally not busy but starting to get popular. Greens were in great shape all season!! It's not a course for long bombers but you need to be accurate off the tee to score well.

Phil Mechura

Nice value for the dollar. Great to get abround in for about the cost of a bucket of balls. I don't understand why people complain about this place. You're playing golf. Be happy

Neil Mann

This course is great Fun challenging holes Great par 5’s to grip and rip Under valued even w a cart New Management Ultra green Can see the improvements over the last couple years I hope they never change the bridges If anything to complain about..we did get turned around heading to the wrong tees a couple times….I know the signage is there but it could be more “can’t miss” signage I know a guy that could work on those bridges cause they are great for the character of the course

Martin Arsenault

Great inexpensive golf course highly recommend

viola caissy

It was OK. A challenge in finding the tees. Poor indications.

Justin Murray

Rustic country course with some straightforward holes. Well maintained, only played the front 9

Tyler Straight

Kevin Regan

Course is tired but good for 2 ball and usually good prices on green fees

Petras Kairovicius

Only played the front 9 but it was awesome.

David

It is affordable but the condition of the course was disappointing as was the design. On the front nine there are many areas where you need to spend a significant amount of time watching for wayward balls because the fairways are too close to one another without protection. In several areas the cart path crosses fairways which is quite dangerous. The tee boxes (where open) were in terrible shape and it seems they don’t enforce divot repairs on the greens. Notwithstanding they are supposed to stagger tee times in this time of Covid, there was no enforcement by a Marshall. A Marshall would have been appreciated on the course as well since it seemed there was no control over the noise being made by other golfers. While fairly inexpensive, I cannot recommend this course.

Nathan WS

For the price, it is well worth a visit! The greens are immaculate and actually quite fast. My only "complaint" is that well over 5 times you need to walk back to the tee or across where others are teeing off. This is unavoidable I understand with the layout, it's just an inconvenience. For 20$+ tax there is almost no better twilight course in the entire capital region. Check it out!

Tim Rw

The course conditions are very good this June and the $32 rate for 18 holes with a cart for 55+ seniors is very reasonable for this course. There are a few tight fairways and several holes have water hazards that come into play. Sand traps are a bit limited and didn't come into play during our round. Overall I'd say it is good value for the money. I will play there again this year for sure.

Danick Desjardins

Kenneth Shao

Great value at $20. The course is under new ownership. The management has done a lot of upgrades. Will return in 2015.

Grant Levere

Showed up to play 9 holes, was immediately lied to and disrespected by the front desk worker, Nancy. She lied to my friend looking to rent clubs and later accused us of a prior incident that did not involve us. Horrible customer service. 0/5 if I could, got a full refund.

Surprisingly fun course. Very friendly staff. Great prices. Tends to be very soggy in the morning, but worth trying out. First time we had excellent flow, second time we had a lot of problems with slow golfers and overly cranky older men being overly aggressive behind us. Marshalls could have been more focussed on keeping golfers moving.

Course is in great shape this year and with new ownership has improved dramatically. A great value for the money. The greens are in the best shape in the last five years

Very pleasantly surprised with RIverbend. Terrific value for 18 holes on a course that is beginner friendly but also has a few challenging bits. Will be returning

Jason White

We were there on the weekend and totally disappointed by the condition of the putting greens. Putting was about as close to playing PLINKO as you could get. 80 % of the holes were excessively damaged and when brought up to management, "OH? We've never had any complaints. We get rave reviews by all of our golfers!" Nothing frustrates me more than management that doesn't listen to their clientele. The price needs to reflect the quality of play and $100 for 2 people and a cart is just too much. No apology either...not a pleasant experience at all! And we used to golf Riverbend a few times a year!

DDD

Awful. Under new management and still crap. The front 9 is the old back 9. The score cards don't make any sense. The yardages are off by a lot. Terrible golf experience. The tee boxes get progressively worse every hole. The fairways are riddled with dandelions. The greens are extremely shaggy and the cups aren't even cut fully. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Dom Papalia

Eric Stewart

For the price this course is worth playing..rather than a lot of the other courses in the Ottawa area overcharging on their green fees.

D.M. Warren

Played Riverbend yesterday. Have played only 5 different courses this year but Riverbend was in the best shape of all the courses. I have never seen their greens in better shape than they are now. VERY FAST. Well worth the cost which by the way is reasonable compared to many other courses.

Eric Rutchinski

Great place to swing the twigs and hit a few ripper magoos
