This Golf corresponds to the category of Public golf course.
Have played the Championship Course once and the Executive Course about 4 times and the greens and fairways are always in great condition. The staff are nice and the prices are reasonable compared to other courses in Ottawa. Update: Now a member for the last year and played about 80 rounds. Course is in great shape and the new ponds are a great addition.
Good executive course and facility. Some of the tee boxes are odd/confusing. Get a late cheaper tee time (4:00ish) and pray someone can play golf in front of you and you'll be able to complete a round.
Labour day weekend 2021, I photographed a wedding here. Ben, who is the coordinator, made the experience stress-free. The grounds are beautiful, and the hall was spacious to enjoy ourselves while accommodating social distancing. Thank you, Pineview.
Not a bad course. I played the executive course. Had a good time. My only complaint was the beer cart never came and I played 18 holes. It would also be nice if they properly updated their score cards as well. If you're more of a beginner, then I'd recommend going here. But go on a Monday when it's cheaper. It's more worth it for the price.
Not a female friendly golf course. The staff, specifically the GM was rude and questioned why we were even there. Spend your money elsewhere ladies, you won’t feel comfortable here. IN REPLY TO OWNER: I have no doubt that this is the male GM replying to this comment, as there is no sign of customer service or an apology, but instead you’re arguing with your customers online. Our issue was not with finishing the game despite us having begun the hole before the putting contest began. My review reflects your rude attitude and way the situation was handled. You ran over and yelled at us to stop and did not explain why. No ones safety was ever at question, and you never said anything about safety. You questioned why I was there because I was a woman and because it was men’s night. Ladies as you can see from their comment, be the judge for yourself. I stand by what I said that this is not a female friendly place to golf.
I mean its good if you want an executive course but everything else is just meh.
Great course, green was good. High volume of players. Fast paced. Grouped into 4s.
Love the course and have played there many times. It's not in the best shape right now (May 12). No warm-up nets set up yet which was quite disappointing.
Played at Pineview last year for the first time. The course was so so. Back nine on Championship course would get flooded quite a bit (especially hole 10). Executive was going through changes and we’ve had to deal with last hole being a not so fun green. This year, Due to Covid, and golf being one of the only activities open, I got a golf season pass this year at Pineview, since it was the closest course to my house and work. I have to say, the grounds crew have out done themselves and have been doing a great job in keeping the the course in good shape all while improving the course. Very impressed and happy that the course has improved its flooding issue with the water on the right of hole 10 as well as making the bunkers better.
We used one of the large rooms for a day long meeting and brought in catered food. It was give and accessible with a room surrounded with windows so was perfect for our needs. Great space if you need a place to meet.
paid $66 for 18 holes with cart on fathers day , I will not be going back this season, the greens were horrible, the fairways were even worse, soaking wet ,, im shocked they charged full price for a course in that shape. highly recommend going somewhere else . its too bad because it was in great shape last year
Indoor Screens are nice but they charge per hour for them and book you in for 1 hour per person. We were 2 and playing quite fast and only made it to the 16th hole before getting kicked out cause our time is up. We lost about 7 minutes having to go to the bar to order drinks. Very frustrating not being able to finish. Its not a very customer friendly model. While we were there we witness this happen to two other groups as well. Your way better off going to golf o max where they always give you enough time to finish and for a good price.
Played the executive course a couple of times this summer, which is a good one to try if you don't play often. It's a nice course to play but far too crowded on a Saturday morning. A lot of par 3s so when it is busy there's a lot of standing around waiting. I think the tee times are too close together when they force every group to be a foursome. Highly recommend weekdays or less busy Saturdays if they exist. The foursome rule only applies when they are busy, have played as a group of 2 on weekdays.
Attended a private function. The lunch was a very nice selection of sandwiches and desserts. Nice facility on a very popular golf course.
Booked a tee time for 5:52pm, weather network was calling for sunny skies all day l. Out of nowhere dark clouds rolled in and there was a heavy rainstorm, we couldn't tee off. Came back at ~6:50pm to at least play 9 holes rather than 18, the pro shop closed and employee said they weren't letting anyone else play on the course. We went to another golf course to play 9. Very disappointed. It even shows hours of operation on Google as open until 11pm.
Not your Pineview of years ago. Great work done. So good its hard to get tee times now.
Course is in great condition and presents a good challenge. Worth the price.
I like this course a lot. It is broken up into two very distinct Nines. The first is pretty standard, in and amongst trees, that then opens up. The second nine is much more of a links feel. Usually the first course to open in the city. Little bit soggy for that reason. Great course though. A lot of fun for the money.
For an inexpensive golf course, it's pretty good. Played the executive for a work function. Nice area. Beer cart could come by more often.
Played this course many moons ago and I can tell you without a doubt, this course has improved remarkably since I played it 20 years ago. If it's been that long for you, give it another shot. You won't regret it.
Love hole#1 here on the Champion, great way to start the round with a challenging par 5. the back 9 is a lot of fun. The Executive is a great course, not really that much shorter than the Champ. i find these courses to be a tad too windy each time i play. maybe i just need to find a better time to play?
Greens in very good shape after a difficult early season as practically all area golf courses experienced. Executive golf course requires precision and is more difficult than the length suggests. Two holes have hidden greens which most golfers don't like. Championship golf course is a pleasure to play with a mix of wide open and treed holes. Fairways currently (1st of August 2019) dry and hard after extended rainless spell.
Great price, almost always open even through the hard times. Tons of different variety in during the 18. The holes are pretty well maintained. This is a really wonderful course!
Fun course with a few neat holes but fairways in rough shape.
Whether you have a few hours for a quick round on the Executive course, or more time to do the Championship course, Pine View has you covered! Great staff in and out and lots of wildlife to amuse!
Been there 3-4 times over past 2 years. not well maintained and horrible place to play if it rained within the week, the courses are FILLED with puddle areas that the water does not drain from. They had a month of no one playing due to covid and nothing was done to fill in those puddle areas on all the holes. Horrible maintenance , specially when they had such a golden opportunity to finally fix those areas, they just left it as is. I'm done with this place.
From my moms balcony we could see the Golf course. The people looks tiny from their but you can still see them walk around the golf course.nice view from 2000Jasmine Str.Ottawa,Ontario located in Gloucester
Decent golf course for the price.
I signed up for one of the summer camps there. Best camp ever!! The instructors are awesome. My short game improved so much. The food at lunch is also great. Overall this was a great camp with great people and it was a lot of fun!!
Great value, very good conditions and inside the city what more could you ask for
Terrible golf experience. I had to wait ten minutes at each tee due to overcrowding. Forced to park my vehicle in an on safe overflow parking lot. My windshield was shattered by errant golf shot. Management refuses to take any responsibility.
Decided to check out the 18 Hole Executive course. Parts are under construction, scorecard is wrong, signs are wrong and there were moments where you had to guess where to go to get to the next tee. Executive course is not worth the $35+ tax.
They have redone a couple holes to make room for the driving range but it's still lots of fun. Great price, and the course was in pretty decent shape considering the weather lately. I would suggest they put some emphasis on fixing ball marks, as a couple greens on the executive course we're a bit beat up.
Early in the season so conditions were just ok. Played the executive course and layout is good for a quick round. Will go back to try the championship course. 36 holes and you can tell there is upkeep.
Great course in amazing condition. The loccation of some tee boxes seem dangerous because of stray balls from other holes.
Played 18 on the Championship and it was great (5 stars). Played 9 on the Executive, they chopped up the first two holes due to the installation of the driving range, didn’t update the scorecards or the Garmin Golf app layouts, and the 9th hole ends at the far end of the course, so you have to trek past three holes just to get back to the clubhouse (1 star, maybe a little extra because the course was in good condition).
Had a great time. Did not expect the green is in very good condition.
1st visit) Fairways were wet. Surprised there wasn't any 90 degree rule when it came to power cart use. Pin placement was really tough. Otherwise course looked good, very scenic (besides the steel and concrete buildings and power lines at a couple spots). 2nd visit) two young women working in the clubhouse acted like 2 bored teenagers forced to work against their will ie. on their phones, no conversation, minimal eye contact (by comparison, the drink cart ladies were much more engaging and friendly). Marshal was trying to rush us when there was absolutely no need to (closest group behind us was more than an entire hole back).
Great value for your money. New owners constantly making improvements on the course. 36 holes of Golf with easy access off the 417 hwy.
Haven't played here in years but it was in fantastic shape today. Cart girl was by frequently. Only complaint was that I still suck at golf.
The course keeps getting better and is always a good time! Super convenient location and usually my go to choice for a last minute round
Great improvement, this management has made some nice modifications, including adding a new pond. It didn't help on hole 13????????????????
Big improvement over the last few years. The new owners have made a real effort to fix this course. Good size greens, we'll maintained. Course layout above average but nothing spectacular. Wide fairways allow you to open up the driver, which you need as it is not a short course.
Have been playing this course on a regular basis this year and have been impressed. Great course for beginner-average player. Greens have been in good shape. Really appreciate the Monday special that they offer and that keeps me coming back!
Played the Championship course. The greens were in excellent condition and the fairways were pretty good too. I'd return. Seems like a well-run club and it was a very enjoyable experience.
Not a single ball was found that day. Executive course was very slow and no shade at all
The course is very wet and the greens are in bad shape. Give it a few days of sun and it will be so much better. Looking forward to next week!! Had a lot of fun though!!!
If I could give zero I would. I was having a great time until I started getting harassed by a Marshall, Frank. This was during an organizational afternoon where we had rented the site and it was not competitive. I complained to management and asked for a call back which I never received. Avoid this like the plague. They do not care about their clients and hire people who belittle and harass clients
Played the executive and the course was under repair. There is not a different tee box for women like the other course . Overall it's not worth the price they are asking .
Not sure what the Champion course is like but we played the Executive...quite the misnomer; definitely not worth the $55+ for 18+cart. No hole descriptions to be seen anywhere (at least put it on the card!), beverage cart never showed (despite being assured it would be out), quite a few ruts in the ground (I rolled my ankle twice!). Also a very short course; not good for those who want to get the driver out! Perhaps a good beginner course but wasn't worth my $$. Sorry, Pineview.
It's pretty good for a municipal course. We came intending to play only 9 but played 18 instead. Highly recommend getting a cart. It was good for practice but the proximity to the highway - and the view of it - is a little distracting.
I only go for corporate events in the hall. It is clean with a good view, convenient washrooms, adequate parking. We do AV and I don't know who caters the breakfast but that was good as well.
Update: Gave it another try the other day. Pace of play is incredibly slow, no marshalls controlling pace or even at the starting tee, almost 3.5 hours to finish 13 holes (had to leave after that). 30 degree friday and no bev cart to be found anywhere. Original post: Played here many times (Championshop course), and most recently this week. It's a decent course, nothing spectacular. For the $25 mondays its a great value considering tee boxes are in terrible shape and how wet the course normally is, but I've been told they've taken away the Monday deal. For $45, there are much better courses in Ottawa. I do appreciate the effort they've put in to upgrade the course, but the value for 45$ walking rate just isn't where it needs to be with so many other options available around the city.
Once you're out on the course it's a nice game of golf. The rude staff are the #1 problem. Especially the manager running the pro shop. They have little patience, agressive tone of voice, and tell you that your priority is to just hurry up and limit your shots. I'll be going to other golf courses in the future.
I called the pro shop simply inquiring about whether they were open on Thanksgiving (reasonable question). I received a bunch of attitude on the other end, the guy at the pro shop responded with “I don’t understand your question. Why would we be closed, we’re a golf course”. When I said he didn’t need to reply with attitude, I was simply asking a question, the man hung up. I have never played this golf course, but I cannot believe this is how you treat a first time customer
Nice practice area, 2 different 18 hole courses in good shape awesome location and great price
Charged me and my friend for two carts tho we only had one.Wouldn’t refund us for paying for 18 holes and only playing 9. Price was more then told on phone. Grass is burnt with gravel in it in any spots. The employees on the grounds were nice. Sad to see a course with such nice employees have such bad sales
Wonderful round in perfect weather with a great foursome...and a few nice shots. It doesn't get better than this.
Played the championship course - was a great course and all, lots of bunkers, but the variety was missing (only 1 water feature, and pretty much every hole was a dog leg). Overall, i would play again, but not for $40 a round.
If I could give negative stars I would.
Slow motion play rediculous long waits between holes and shots...
Unable to tee off at our 5:52 pm tee time due to thunder storms. Returned at 6:45 pm to play 9 holes and salvage our night and was told by the staff that the pro shop was closed since 6:30 and we could not play. Very disappointing. Spent our money at the nearby driving range instead.
It was my first time playing golf there. Very poor service, rude stuff, never had a card with drinks and sandwiches. I played many courses but it was definitely my the worst experience. I contacted a General manager and did not even receive a follow up call back. Definitely wasted money and time.
We played the executive course today. All the holes were short par 3 - 4. Grounds were fairly well kept, the signs at each tee were worn out and need to be replaced. We will definitely go back again.
Championship Course is fun. If you're feeling a short round then executive works, but would recommend championship.
Decent! nice to have a range now!
Left office at 3pm but due to the nice weather went to Pine View to play some golf. Was told Ladies have the championship course and suggested the Executive so I took it. After 2 holes I ended up following a group of ladies and waited almost 15mins per hole. After the 8th hole I decided to quit because it was taking too long. Had I been informed the ladies have both courses I would have gone home. When I asked if I can get a rain check for 9 holes they told me it is twilight and they cannot give me anything. Terrible people at the Pro Shop and if not for convenience I would play nicer courses within 30 minutes of their location. I will never play there again and I advise everyone reading this to do the same. Disgusted customer.
Yesterday was my first time in Pine View Golf Course. We played 18holes in the Executive Course. It was good. We have already booked to play again this coming Saturday. Soon we shall migrate to the Pro Course.
Course is in good shape at this time of the year. Greens have recovered from the hot spell earlier this year and they are in good shape. Course has wide open fairways . It is a bomber heaven and also good for beginner's confidence. However its defense are the huge bunkers around the greens and many more scattered around the fairways. This course will test your iron shots and short game skills around the green. As a course within the city, it is busy and tends to be slow during the peak hours. Marshals are doing good job to keep the good playing pace. Like the new driving range they put in this year. Well done.
Course was ok for an early opening but construction on the 10th hole was pretty bad.
Full price for half a course (Excutive) most holes can be considered Par 3's last hole says Par 5 with a water hazard. We laid up do to the water hazard, get down to players second shot...turns out to be a par 3
Indoor golf- a humbling but fun experience. Preparing for coming season. Good fun and good value, with friendly staff
There was a delay for frost which is fine but course was wet and had swamps on fairways. I get it's bad season but shouldn't be charging full price for poorly maintained fairways. Service was good, Marshall's were courteous.
I golfed here on several occasions with my late brother . We were considered as amatures and our goal was to have a good time. Good memories to share .
We've been on the Executive and Championship course this year and our group has been very pleased with the condition of the course and the service of the staff.. it's a busy spot but we found once on the course things moved along quite well. The greens and fairways are in good to great condition. Overall I consider Pineview to be a very nice course and a good dollar value. Keep up the good work.....
Friendly staff, fairly priced. I’ve played it 3 times in the last two weeks and all I can say is you get what you pay for. Extremely easy course. Could definitely use some rain. Fairways are so dry, the ball just doesn’t stop rolling. I clicked a driver 360 on one hole ????. Great course for beginners!
Haven't played here in years as I moved to Edmonton. First time back visiting in the summer in 6 years and I must say I was very impressed with course. (Dad and brother are members)
Played 18 holes on the executive course today. Not ONE refreshments cart in 38+ Degrees Celsius weather. Shameful.
It's a nice basic golf course. There seems to be a lot of activities to participate in. I play 9 holes after work and it was pleasant. I docked it 2 stars because on some of the holes there is a light sewage smell for one. The other reason for a docked star is mediocre service (ie. No maps, poor direction as to what the courses look like and they put us in the middle if a tournament, only to move us to another hole mid way)
Nice enough! a bit too much on the expensive side. Please, do something about the hole setup.. its set to high, the ball doesn't stay in the hole even with a Tiny putt. Maybe I had a HIO but will never know (not).
