You have all the reviews of real people like you who purchased the products and services of Lakeridge Links Golf Club Whispering Ridge Golf Club (Golf) in the area close to Oshawa (Canada).
To this day the firm receives a score of 3.7 stars over 5 and the rating has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is good, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may think that the rating is quite credible. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they are pleased, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to set opinions when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Golf is included in the category of Golf club.
Played on Wispering Ridge on July 18th. Course is totally dried out. Hard to put tee into ground on tee boxes. Numerous ball marks on every green. I’ve never seen this course in such poor condition. And looking at Lakeridge the same day, it looked similar.
Nice course and good for $50 2 years ago. Unfortunately this September 2020 was awful! Every fairway was brown. No excuse first this poor maintenance just because they wanted to save labour! Played other courses of same caliper and they were in much better shape.
Pretty nice condition & challenging course!
A fabulous day on the track today, good value too.
Another nice round of golf at Lakeridge.
Good start to this year.
Great course!
Good facilities for a wedding. Polite staff. The food was not the calibre one would expect from a country club. Also the parking lot is quite old with faded or missing lines so people are often parked between spots meaning not as many cars can fit had it been properly marked. Need to be refinished.
Very disappointing. This was the first time playing this course in a number of years and was shocked at how poorly it has been maintained. From the first to the last hole, the fairways are literally brown. The greens were greener but they are pretty torn up with people not replacing ball marks. I asked one of the grounds crew what happened and he said it was the weather in July and August; I've played a number of courses this summer and while not perfect they have obviously done a better job with their irrigation.
The two courses here are my favorite in the area!
One of the most beautiful and challenging courses in GTA. The people at proshop are so nice and friendly. Par 3 Hole 17 is magnificent. Par 4 hole 18 makes players want to come back to play again soon.
I was disappointed by the fact that there were not any hole signs at the tee off. The signage from green to next tee was virtually noon existent. This course does not come back to clubhouse at 9th hole and you can buy 12 holes which lead me to believe you would be close to clubhouse at that point. Wrong. And no signs on how to get back to clubhouse. We got caught in the rain on 9th hole with no idea how to get to clubhouse. We were soaked by the time we lucked out and found a utility vehicle path that got us within eyesight of parking lot. Doubt I will golf here again.
1 star is even a little much for whispering for how bad the condition is in. I wouldn’t even pay 30 bucks with a cart let alone 60. It’s like the grounds crew has completely forgot the course even exists. The 15th hole par three is literally a construction site. Dirt and boulders all over the place in the sand traps (if you even want to call it a sand trap). It’s a shame. I was here all the time last year and I certainly won’t be back this year. Please save yourself some time and money and go to a better course.
Great course
Surprisingly awesome greens at Whispering Breeze considering we have had such a dry summer. It was so good I took lots of photos. Great course, great price, awesome round.
Typically an overpriced course unless booked through golf now. However the staff is friendly and helpful. Careful when riding here since the cart paths are in terrible shape and due to the abundance of steep hills it wouldn’t be hard to flip a cart. Almost all the greens are dome shaped... have fun.
Good golf but to expensive
Course conditions were lacking... Fairways chewed up. Greens were horrible.
A fun place to golf. Not too expensive and a well kept course.
Decent course. Prices are reasonable and it's good for beginners.
Had an early tee time and decided to walk. More or less near the heat. Whispering Ridge is a fun course and is a good test. Its drying out so poor shots can be amplified.
They are water challenged I'm guessing because the course is extremely burned out. The starter was a jackass and the pro shop double charged someone in our foursome. On the upside they've been watering their greens and they're reasonable but I can't believe what's happened to this golf course. Former owner Bruce Summers must be rolling in his grave. Take a pass on this one folks.
Good golf Greens are in great shape
Course layout moderately challenging. Pace of play too slow. Cart paths are like off roading and need repair. Tee boxes are below average. No sign of marshal to move slower groups thru
Golf is OK but everything is quite shabby & run-down - needs lots of work for it to come close to being worth the bucks.
Great shape, very challenging course.
Nice course
It was a good weather to play, broke 100 again!!!
Nice but busy. This is a very busy course so make sure to book an early tee time to avoid on course traffic.
This is a great place to get in a day of golfing with your buddies, plus your walking exercise for the day, and the staff here is very courteous, what else can you ask for!
Great course, Friday dinner special at a reasonable rate includes cart and dinner. You will no be disappointed with the challenge.

Great course good pace of play. Well maintained, staff super friendly and helpful.
Amazing course great greens
Nice golf course, but beer cart is slow :(
Great track club staff treated us great!
Beautiful course.
I've only ever played the Whispering Ridge course (par 3 at this golf club) but i love this course. The staff are excellent (young inside and experienced outside LOL) and it's a nicely managed, well kept course...that's longer and more challenging than your typical par 3.
I played whispering winds the last week of aug 2020. The course conditions were the WORST I have ever played in my life!! Far worst than Annandale or Aryan links. It was like they never watered this year. Payed $61 with a cart, so not cheap. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! A joke of a couse. Can't believe they charge people to play this cow patch. Will NEVER play this course again!!
Beautiful wedding venue.
Played here for the first time yesterday (August the 5th). Brought my Father-in-law, his cousin and the cousins son. I totally enjoyed my experience with the whispering ridge course (probably played my best golf thus far in the season; definitely one of those days). Pace of play was quite slow (with the holiday more people show up). The greens need a bit of work though, so many anthills, ball marks etc... Not extremely challenging, good course to work on your iron game!
Cart lady never around
Clean course
The head of maintenance Steve Scott is very lovely and attractive, also there is one bearded maintenance man who is very good at there job, always shows up on time, rakes bunkers, cuts grass, and is very safe with driving carts I would give that boy a raise and any day he wants off. Great chicken. 5 Stars
Great course!
2 awesome courses, Whispering Ridge is gorgeous, great track for a fun time (my favourite hole is #12 from the tee box at the right time of day its stunning) Lakeridge is the more challenging of the two and offers abit more difficulty. Both tracks are great and you really cant go wrong. On top of the 2 great courses they also offer lessons through Geared to Golf, I personally have only dealt with Mike and Ryan. Ryan is very helpful and ive only had positive experiences with him (he has also made a point of remembering my name with out many conversations outside of checking in for my times and any of my questions. That doesn't go unnoticed and something that small shows he appreciates his regulars and members). Mike is my coach i get lessons from. After about 10 min working with him he made an instant impact on my swing, and is helping me become a better golfer. He is also very positive and not only is it clear he knows his stuff but he also is very good at communicating and explaining what i can improve on and how to go about doing it. This is a great course, the staff in the pro shop and around the course is also very kind and helpful. If youre looking for a course to call your "home course" this is the one to do it at.
Great
Nice walkable course.
I don’t know about these other reviews as of late, but this golf course has fallen off a cliff. The course is in terrible condition with greens diseased, poor attitudes from staff, and somehow they still charge close to $100 for 18 and a cart. There are 15-20 better golf courses in the Durham region to enjoy.
Wow...what a disappointment.....nearly $100 to play today(including cart) and we had to play many fairways like "winter rules" moving the ball to find some grass on the fairways! A number of fairways were actually spilt. Brutal. Need a hammer to get tees into the tee boxes. Greens were fine but not awesome as I'd expect for that money. We played with two members who asked us our honest opinion of the course and we told them as politely as we could that we wouldn't be back. They agreed with our assessment and actually told us they were leaving the course after this season. Too bad as the layout is actually very nice! In comparison you have Columbus not far away for $60+ Including a cart and the course is in really good condition. Yes they have good irrigation compared with Lakeridge but if you have water problems, as Lakeridge says they do, then don't charge me $94 for a round of lousy golf . Sorry but there is way better value around than this course.
Beautiful course, a little hard to navigate hole to hole, otherwise challenging and unique greens
Very nice course and fairly difficult. Still a little wet but greens are fast.
Wow, have they let this place go. At one time both courses were well maintained. Both look overplayed, under maintained and tired. If you have the option, play somewhere else.
Overall good course, conditions could be a bit better
September 17th. Blue tees. Driving range is good and putting area ok. slow pace - started around 2:30 and ended 7:15 so if you’re hoping to get into a rhythm you may want to try a different course. Would have been faster if there was a marshal. Their best holes are 14 and 15. This place has potential but it seems to just miss the mark . Likely won’t be back for a few years, assuming they don’t turn it into a subdivision
Play June 21 at 5.hr and 20 mins pace. Waited every hole and Marshal can't do much . Disappointed
Okgood
Still wet, power cart cart path only. Hopefully better next week.
It was my first game this year, I was amazed that the green is in great shape. The starter was polite and told us to follow social distancing around the green. It's still one of the most challenging golf courses in the area.
Whispering Ridge is a short course with nice scenery, challenging holes and the greens are very well kept and fast!
Jun 14,2017. Fairways are in terrible shape. Hopefully the grounds crew can fix them during the season.
don’t even bother hitting from the sand traps on whispering, it’s like hitting from the cart path
Nice track! Tad on the pricey side. But definitely a great, challenging round.
This course really needs some work on the cart paths. They are brutal, and will give you border line spinal injury bouncing around on the severely heaved or damaged cart paths.,
Issue with drainage on the course. Casual water and muddy after rain.
Played on July 3rd. Disgusting carts. Had concerns with cleanliness of golfs carts. Asked for another one but they were all the same. Disinfectant sprayed right over lots of dust and dirt. Other golf courses in surrounding area way more responsible. Cart paths worst I have ever seen. Careful if you have a bad back.
Terrible condition
Was here for a wedding and it's a great location
poorly maintained course, I cant even seen a complete fairway.
Well kept fun gold course
Getting a little pricey
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Driving range is closed because of covid which is beyond frustrating given that every other course Ive been to this season has the range open. I used to play this course a few times per year. It has been pretty poorly maintained this year. The private member bookings have made it impossible to book a tee time for public before noon (on the championship course). I unfortunately have another underpar to use, and will go back but wouldn’t pay to play here this year.
Would like to give this place no stars. Way overpriced for the condition. Do yourself a favour and stay away
Good facility , good courses and lots of parking.
Very dry, but in good condition. Staff at the clubhouse and pro shop were excellent as always.
Nice scenic course, fast green but not overly challenging. Some wide open fairways. Marshall was doing a good job keeping the pace.
Fair prices and nice course
The Canadian Flag that is being flown on the property is a disgrace. When brought to the attention of the club they said it is not illegal to have the flag in that state and they would rather fly that flag then nothing at all. Although it is not illegal, it is improper and disgraceful to all Canadians to fly a flag in disrepair. Thanks for your patriotism Jerry Nemish. Have a wonderful Rememberance Day!
Lakeridge links could be challenging course. However, the condition of the fairways, tee-offs, and greens are terrible. Some of play areas are like shooting off of cement. We could hardly push our tees into the ground...could have benefitted from having a hammer. Could be a beautiful course if it was maintained. Will not be back.
Dry and hot
Not one to take the time to write a review but I will NEVER be back here. Payed $75 to WALK Lakeridge Links and it was by far the worst condition course I've ever played. Not one flat tee box, fairways blend in to the rough and are dying, and dead spots all over the greens. Absolutely no excuse for these conditions. Prices need to be greatly decreased if they plan on remaining open. A word of advise, go accross the street to Watsons Glen to see how a real golf course should look like.
Course is in terrible shape, not taken care of at all. You can get much better for the same price in the area, just avoid it for now
I played here years ago and returned today and can't believe how run down this course has become.very disappointing not worth the money.
Nice course. Reasonable price.
Played the Whispering Ridge younger-sister course over the weekend. Great conditions, despite being waterlogged everywhere, which is common in spring. i didn't expect much and paid $25 to walk, which I think is reasonable. I'm an intermediate player who shoots 130's regularly, but in spite of the swamp-like conditions, I was still able to shoot a sweet 141. I decided to play to the full spirit of golf and did not take any casual water reliefs, however. If you can tough it out in the wetness, I think you too will have a wonderful time here.
If it rains, the fairway needs week or two to dry.
Fantastic conditions, challenging and fun
Not recommended stay away, absolutely brutal shape, way overpriced for the condition it's in, will never play there again.
We had a foursome and all of us thought it was over priced. Several holes were under construction including one hole on the back 9 that was a par 4, it had a temporary tee box at 250 yards to the green. Would not recommend this course. One of the highlights was the kitchen, the sausage and pemeal bacon sandwiches were awesome.
First time playing there a fun layout to play. Probably a couple more non-driver par 4s than I'd like. Greens were spectacular great speed and rolled true. Fairways were the only real negative they've lost big sections of them to burn.
I played this course last week (September 20). The course was in better shape than when I played it the last time which was early summer. Greens are responsive and rolling nice. Fairways were cut and in good shape. Tee decks and bunkers are acceptable. Tree wells still needed attention as the grass around them was very long. The layout is a blast! There are some holes that need a very accurate tee shot but there are also lots of holes with elevated tee decks and ample opportunity to grip it and rip it!
A few rough T Decks. The worst thing? Missing multiple signage at the T blocks. At $67 with a cart how is there not signage at every hole?
The greens are worse than the fairways NO SHAME
Treat us fantastically great staff
awesome links
Nice course but they really have a problem with scheduling too many groups cashing MAJOR back ups on the course. Avoid on nice weekends if you want a decent pace of play
The starter on Tuesday mornings on Lakeridge is a super nice guy. He deserves a raise.
Stuck in Stage 1 pandemic criteria. Course in great shape though.
Ok course. Took 5 hours and 30 minutes to complete a round. Club house is very junky. Course is decent, but not anything more then a 3 star.
Very friendly staff and a challenging course
They should be ashamed to call this a golf course. To charge $98.00 to play here is outrageous. Worst course I have ever seen.
Course was a pretty decent shape other than a couple of holes.
Great course with good conditions but cart paths need repaving.
Good course
Played here this morning, Whispering ridge is absolutely terrible for $70. Staff in the pro shop were nice guys. Very poorly maintained from start to finish. Do not recommend this course to anyone.
I wouldn't give it a negative review had it been reasonably priced. I paid $70 and the course was in horrible shape, cart paths were horribly bumpy. It is a small course and it is still $70 (includes cart). Myself, and 3 others agreed we will never return due to the unjustified price.
To slow of pace
Although this track is good. The cart paths are so bad you need a massage afterwords. The carts could use an update too. Not one cart had a rear cover for clubs, should it rain, your clubs would be drenched.
Really good condition of the golf course, staffs are nice and helpful. But only one bad thing was people were smoking cannabis within the patio area; nothing against the law but considering others not enjoying the smell of cannabis within the area. Should those people taking their habits outside the patio instead.
3 Stars are pushing it for the time I spent there. The last time I was there was about 5 yrs ago and was impressed at how they had maintained the course. However, this time I went either the grounds crews turned over or they just dont care. Reading the reviews on here about the cart paths are spot on. They all need repaving and surrounding grounds leveled off. The tee's were in decent shape, not great but decent. The ball cleaners needed water. Now onto the greens. My god what happened???? I've never seen so many anthills and ball marks. I know they have lots of tournaments there but man o man, take care of the greens. A majority of my putts were so bumpy it was hard to line it up. Another nit pick I have is if you're going to charge top price on the weekend, make sure the grass is cut before the weekend starts. Nothing grinds my gears more than having guys cut the grass when you're trying to play. On a good note, the Marshall was friendly and accommodating. If you ask me, this course should not be charging anywhere near over 40$ with a cart. At any time. A comparison would be to save 20$ and go play Winchester. UPDATE: 1 Year later and I was back. I am still giving it 3 stars. The fairways were ok, still alot of weeds and bare spots. Tees were roughed up. The greens were better than last year. Only in the fact they more smoother, they still had anthills and weeds. The sand traps have completely been ignore as they were not dragged or raked and completely overrun with weeds. The price for a Friday with a cart was reasonable for what they offered. Would I go back? ONLY if I couldn't find another teetime somewhere else. They don't make it easy to make this course a priority when looking for a round.
Great course, a little over price in my book.
Pleasent staff, great layout, grounds in excellent shape.
(Translated) Friendly and nice staff. (Original) 직원들도 친절하고 좋아요.
Horrible course I think im in love with the cart girl though! Only reason I'd return
Nice place
Visited Lakeridge links today for a celebration of life....it was beautiful day and the grounds food and atmosphere were beautiful! Would absolutely visit again!!
Course was decent however we were being hounded to speed up. We weren't holding anybody up behind us. The reason we were being hounded was because they were waiting for carts for new-comers. Here's a solution...buy more carts! Did not appreciate the hassle when we weren't doing anything wrong. Won't come back because of this inconvenience.
This course is awful. Never mind how dry the fairways are but the course and carts are filthy. We literally drove over broken beer bottles, Covid PPE such as gloves and masks, Beer Cans and water bottles. We will never play at this course again. They should be closed down!!!
My first time and I enjoyed it. Special mention to the guy in the pro shop tonight!
This was my first time at this golfing range and i will say i was very disappointed. I took my son and his friend for an afternoon of practice to be only cut short! I found out that after i purchased a basket of balls and came back to purchase another two baskets, i was informed that the ball retrieval machine was not working and could not refill my baskets. Like most people, my time is valuable. I would have appreciated this information before you happily took my money so that i could have chosen another avenue for my family outing. Hopefully going forward your staff could be more proactive in these situations that come up. René
Fun and challenging
Great golf course!!! They're trying to get better course such making new layouts, lakes etc. Nice job!!
A nice track. The fairways were hard and dry but the new mini lake should make all the difference in the world. We had a great fall day. And the greens as always are a challenge !
Overpriced for the quality. Paid $87 to play a golf course with mud on every hole, grass not cut. Lost balls on the fairway. Condition is horrible. Picturesque but not playable. Greens keepers seem to be students who just can't maintain the course. All bunkers without exception were not playable, mud or puddles. I would pay no more than $40 to play this course. Don't rent a cart, cart path only the entire golf course all 18 holes strictly enforced. We often just carried our bag to the balls as it is more convenient than a cart most of the time. Save your money spend $90 on a real golf course not this one.
aug 1, 8am tee time at whispering. charging 70$ for the condition is insane. the driest i’ve ever seen, fairways were concrete and tee decks near impossible to get a tee in. in decent condition this is a nice track. but full price for this is wild. just pay the extra for lake ridge proper.
Nice place
Great golf day. Course was in good condition, staff was friendly.
The Pro was amazing. Accommodating.
The absolute worst experience on a golf course I’ve ever had played countless rounds haven’t played in 2 years course has more mud , dirt then grass what happened to management to allow a once great course to be unplayable stay away till they fix the conditions ( $75 what a ripoff)

One of my favourite courses in the area!
Great course for beginners and intermediates
Wonderful
Course is in bad shape and very dry, cart paths are full of potholes. Food and service were great.
Golf courses playing pretty good A little dry not impressed with tee blocks don't think they had one t block that was flat always had an uphill lie
Great staff fun golfing there
Course was in HORRIBLE shape. Looked like it had not been cut in weeks. Only saving grace were the greens
Rough fairways... but fun short course...great for irons practice!
Great!
Green were good as usual but the fairways are all yellow, not good
Horrible conditions, even cows would not enjoy it as a pasture.Overgrown with dandelions and thistles, twitch grass in the bunkers, fairways had very little turf, cart paths are in bad shape, no trimming along the sides of them,no drainage. At 75$ a round, this was a gross gouging of a golf course!
Really nice course and a price that can’t be beat. Now I know why I struggle to get a tee time for so long. Fun little course with a super friendly staff!
Attended for a 9 hole charity tournament. They were very organized upon reception, taking your clubs to cart etc. Course was in very good shape and some challenging holes. Large dining area will hold many golfers. Meal and service was of good quality.
Nice course. Fair price.
Great staff. Challenging layout and true greens. This is a fantastic place to play golf!
Course in rough state
One word to describe - Horrendous. Do not waste your money and time here period. Will never be coming back.
Pricey for quality of course it is
