Great location to hit some balls. South facing range, newish range balls, $10 buckets. However it looks like a lot of reviewers here (yelpers?) care more about their checkout experience than actual golf? ????????

Went to the driving range and was verbally abused by the owner. He was angry and abrasive for no reason. They did not follow any COVID protocols and was blatantly being aggressive towards other patrons. I will never be returning as the service was terrible and no one should support an owner with this little regard for respect and his patrons.

I walked in, and asked what the price was for a bucket of balls. A man, who I presume is the owner (short, mid-40's, baseball cap) said "Uh, you're looking at them". I then pulled out my debit card to pay, and saw that there was no machine. "No debit?" I asked. He responded that there's no debit and that I should get out. I was in total shock. He then started making fun of the hat I was wearing, and told me if I didn't leave immediately he would physically remove me. Needless to say, this was the strangest customer service experience I have ever had. I walked outside and asked someone who saw all of this transpire (who was now hitting balls) what the mans problem was. He just said "He gets angry. I'd just leave if I were you." The owner then came running out berating me, telling me I should be on meds, saying I was "shaking". I probably was, because I was in shock that someone could act this way. I think the man may be mentally unstable, and judging by the other reviews on here- I have even more reason to believe my experience wasn't an exception. I would stay away. Go to Harmony Creek instead. Hopefully this man gets help if indeed he has some other problem.

Good prices and good mini 9 par 3 course if you have a no non-sense mentality. Just pay your money ($10 debit and cash only) at the counter and go. The grass is a bit dry from the sun and the putting greens are not in good condition but does the job if you want to practice knock downs and approach shots.

Owner was very rude... will not be coming back. Was walking over to putting range at 530pm after finishing at the driving range and the owner told my sister and I he was closing up (closes at 6pm). We said we were only going for 5 minutes as other golfers were still there and he told us we had to go. Yet he let all of the men stay and continue at the driving range for at least 10 minutes after he spoke to us (we waited to see if he was going to tell them to leave lol, he did not).

Manager/owner is unbelievably rude and belligerent. Flew into an expletive laced tirade when we showed up. Asked us what was wrong with us and if we could read or understand english because they were closed. No sign anywhere indicating they were closed. An older gentleman came in and asked whether they were open or closed and he was literally told to eff off and not come back. How this place attracts customers with this kind of behaviour is a mystery. There are other driving ranges in the area. We will never return here and would NOT recommend it to anyone. Stay away.

The manager is extremely rude and has no manners. Was meeting a few friends there and at that point they were not letting people in; another customer approached to enquire if the place was closed or open as there were still lots of people on the driving range. The manager yelled and swore at the customer, despite the customer not raising his voice at all. Never go back again. STAY AWAY. This place is going to run out of business thanks to its inconsiderate manager

It's good for beginners and kids and a quick 9. Great for practicing short game. It's cheap which is why I rated it higher than a more expensive course. Its what you should expect for 10 bucks.

very disappointing in the way the owner treats his customers. Was there twice this week and both experiences were the same. Although the range is very close to my house, next time I hit the range I'll drive across town to Harmony Creek Golf.

Terrible service - just showed up with a few of my buddies, we were meeting a friend - the attendant yelled over that they weren’t letting anyone else in. We continued to stand there contemplating what to do, and the guy yells over “you can keep standing there, it’s not going to change anything” What a joke this place is. Would NEVER step foot here again.

Great range. Been coming since I was a kid. A lot of reviews on here claim the owner is belligerent. I would have to disagree. Just dont be a douche or be destructive to his range and you'll have no problem. Never had a problem for 15+ years. All quality balls aswell, no mixed bucket with the odd ball in there from 1965.

Had to come myself just to see how crazy this guy is...wasn't disappointed lol. "Don't tap the debit machine!!!". Sounded funny in my head cause its call "Debit Tap". Couldn't get it out of my head while I was hitting my bucket....What could have possibly been so wrong with me using the tap function of my debit card? Lol. Would have given an extra star if he dropped the F-bomb during our transaction like he did with some of the other luckier folk in these reviews.

Facilities great. Owner not. Just think “Soup Nahtzee” from Seinfeld. Move to counter , no questions , no comments, no chit chat, pay your $10 and casually slide to the side for your bucket or “NO GOLF FOR YOU!!!!”

I think my first attempt to write a review wasn’t approved, which is more testament to how bad the unprofessional owner can be than it is to my ability to write a review. Suffice it to say, Durham Golf is a terrible experience for anyone looking to enjoy and experience what golf really offers and is about. Worst in Durham. Period.

Best no nonsense range in Whitby. There are no frills so if you want that then I suggest go down Taunton at Salem. For the money, the GC is a bargain at, $10. 9 holes on tight fairways is a blast when the wind picks up. This is a Golfers Range. Practice, practice, practice and you'll never say golf is for rich people, especially at Durham Golf.

Staff were friendly and prices were reasonable. I believe it was just over $40 for 4 buckets of balls at the driving range. It was quite busy but we were still able to get on right away. Tee boxes for driving range weren't in great shape. The balls would not stay on the tees on 2 of our 3 tee boxes but worked fine for hitting off the mat.

Take your money elsewhere! the owner/manager is extremely rude. One second it was fine and the next I was being yelled at, called 'stupid' and kicked out for accidently tapping my visa card. Got me furious at first but after reading the reviews, seems I was not the only one with that incident. Terrible customer service!

The range isn't bad and the course is decent for short iron practice. However, the owner exhibited some serious neanderthal characteristics. After further review I've come to the conclusion that his wife probably left him for a younger man, leaving him with a serious personality disorder, raging alcoholism and an inferiority complex.

Honestly I feel sorry for the owner because he clearly has mental issues that I wonder if he can even help? I had trepidation from reading the reviews and honestly they are all true. The guy has borderline personality disorder. Very toxic. I lived close by so this would have been the perfect range to go to. Would have given him constant business. lots of other driving ranges to go to in the area with better customer service. If you want to be treated with respect - stay away!
