Great executive course in the City of St. Catharines. Never busy and easy to walk on for a 9 or 18 holes. Very cheap, but very quality golf.

A great beginner course

Returned to garden city today for the first time in well over 10 years and I'll start by saying the course looked great, and the customer service was great. However I was insulted by two golfers for no reason. One man aggressively asked me why I waited so long to tee off and when I explained I didn't want to hit any of the 4 golfers still playing the hole he barked back "you're not gonna hit it 300 yards" pretty ignorant when I was just patiently waiting my turn and he criticizes my skills. I've hit a few 275+ bombs before and I simply said safety first. Quite disrespectful. Another man gave me a look and said I butted in front of him with my friend to get in the clubhouse, meanwhile he was standing there talking to someone fiddling with his mask. All in all it's a good course the employees seem nice but dont be surprised if you come across rude golfers who ridicule you for trying to play patiently and safely. Real nice to try to work on your game when some grumpy dude is impatient and staring and making gestures at you. I will try again I'm hoping it was a fluke.

My brother and I visited for a quick round on Sunday morning. Not a lot of golfers out as it is the end of the season. We are beginner/intermediate golfers and the course was pretty fair. Mostly short par 3s but a few par 4s thrown in. Some of the fairways were pretty rough with water buildup and mud. Some of the greens were pretty rough but we definitely enjoyed the more challenging greens compared to what we're used to at our local course. Honestly, great value at $10 walking 9 holes. Can't expect it to be pristine for that price as a public course. Great time out!

The dump was great. Golfing with dad on rainy day that cleared nicely.. Fir small course had great range of holes and topography with mature landscape.

Inexpensive par 60 course. good condition challenging greens. Much improved over the years. Walk the course in 3 to 4 hours for $22.00+-

Nice place to work on short game or beginning golfers. Not very busy. Hard greens, narrow fairways. It's a city course. You get what you pay for. Considering it used to be a dump...not bad.

Fun experience with a few friends. Staff clearly favors regulars over newcomers which hindered on my first experience and probably wont be visiting again anytime soon. Overall, great course and clean terrain for the most part.

Staff isn't pleasant but the course is well maintained for a city owned course. I will not play here again simply cause of the staff who assumed I wasn't any good but cleaned up a 9hole in 1hr and 10 mins.. with only 4 over par...

Worst golfing experience I’ve ever had. They literally pulled the flags in front of us even though they knew we were on the last few holes with plenty of time left before they close. Extremely rude staff. I would rather putt in my basement then play this trash course. They say this place used to be a dump, I’m telling you it still is.

We played 9 holes of golf and the beverage cart never came around at all. We took a minute to go one hole over to get a drink and on our way back some staff member was giving us a hard time because we had people behind us. Which was also annoying because we had a group of 4 with a group of 2 tee off very shortly after us. The course wasn't even busy. I would say the course is decent, but the staff I encountered and management is poor. I felt rushed the entire time and couldn't enjoy my time on the course.

Was not happy with the staff. There was one guy watching us on every hole. And complained on how long we were taking. I thought golfing was supposed to be a relaxed and enjoyable thing. Felt extremely rushed and would not recommend this. Not unless you want some old man watching you every tee off

Worst experience ever. I was coming in from NOTL and got stuck at the bridge…was 2 minutes late. The staff member working was waiting outside and was yelling at me from the parking lot “you’re late”. Then walked inside and continued to be extremely rude. Not a single tee off after us and we were rushed and berated the entire time. Do your self a favour and do not golf here. Grounds also not maintained well.

Course is well maintained for being city owned, but the staff is pretty unfriendly most days. We booked a tee time through Golf Now with a cart and when we got there they said they don't do pre-booked carts and to take it up with Golf Now. Then, we were told back 9 only because the greens were being aerated on the front, but they were being aerated on the back too. This wasn't the first negative experience we've had here with the staff

First time and perhaps last time. My husband has golfed this course for years (over 30) and this was the worst he has ever seen it. Long grass on the fairways and the greens were weedy...we almost quit after 2 holes. I'm hoping they fix it up again.

Staff are caring, polite, and friendly. The grass was longer than usual that made a challenge for a learner. I still need to learn so much more. I enjoy your course when I go with the CFUW women's group.
