The course conditions were very good, the lay out on some holes are questionable/poorly designed. But over all the experience was bad. Rushed off of the 9th hole from an employee stating there was a wedding going on at the club house and they want us to hurry up and get off the green. As I am a paying customer paying $100+ I don’t deserve to be rushed by employees while playing my shots. As well as the service from all other employees I felt was poor. No marshals to be seen anywhere even when the round took an obscene 6+hrs of stand still golf and seeing multiple groups of 5. In my opinion for the money and the service I received there are many other golf courses I would rather play.

Matthew Gleeson

Absolutely gorgeous. Be warned, it's a pretty unforgiving course so you may loose a few balls.

In response to management’s reply: I never said it was in 2018. An engineering feat and a visual treat. Unfortunately it is run poorly. I have read the reviews and can't help but to notice that every time they get a negative review they attempt to pass the blame back to the reviewer. My experience: I booked a tee time on a Friday for the next day. I drove 200km with 3 other golfers, excited to show them the course. We checked in, tee'd off and when we reached the first green it was evident that not only had the greens been punched but they were top dressed so heavily that they were virtually unplayable. Hoping it was an anomaly, we drove on the the next hole... same deal... and the next.... and the next.... We drove the entire front nine hoping to find a playable hole. Unsuccessful, we returned to the pro shop to complain. The kid behind the counter was sympathetic enough, saying "ya, it's really unplayable out there." I asked to speak to management but there was nobody there... so we asked for a refund. The kid said he couldn't refund our money but did issue rain checks... which we promptly tossed out. So, in summary: They took our booking for a course they knew would be unplayable, they took our money for a course that was unplayable and, if they are consistent in responding to criticism, they will likely tell me that I should have tried harder to tell them what was wrong with my experience. Try Parry Sound G&CC. It's not as visually impressive but it is run like a golf course and they care about their customers.

what a gorgeous course ! highly recommended.

I love this course! Each hole provides a unique shot opportunity, and each hole provides a wonderful view & experience. It truly is a breathtaking day of golf. It's a long course, and a cart is mandatory (as the distance from green to tee blocks is very long). It's also a very tough course. You need to be accurate with your shots. Beginner & novice golfers may find this very tough. If you love golf, it's really worth the trip to Seguin Valley Golf club.

Excellent golf course. In really good shape. Very challenging with lots of trouble to get into.

The course itself is fantastic. What a great layout. Service was a little lacking. Our group of 12 was delayed by almost an hour after our booked tee time. Meal orders were wrong both times I ate in the restaurant. Accommodations had nice views but was definitely dated and small.

Marc-André Quessy

Nice place! Was there covering an event for a manufacturer. They had supper there buffet stye. the food was great, the service was friendly. Whish I had time to play a round of golf. The first hole was soooo inviting!

Sebastien Beitel

Beautiful course.

David Bates

Absolutely beautiful, golf in the fall here adds to the stunning backdrop. Some really interesting holes, the elevation they say adds 500 yards so also very challenging. Always look forward to any round I can get in here.

Mark Cupryn

Fantastic course. As nice a track as any up in the Muskokas. Very friendly staff. Great value.

Just realizing I reviewed Seguin 2 years ago...obviously I keep coming back (fantastic golf)! I scanned the reviews and generally have to agree. The course is GORGEOUS and always in great shape. The customer service (especially dining) really really really needs work. Understanding this may be a seasonal hire issue, but, generally, painstaking to get someone to place an order or pay any attention to you if you’re on the patio. Just check in with us!!! I will still return but always hope for better. Thanks!

Beautiful course every hole is a different challenge, the track was in great condition greens were also in great condition played this course several times and I highly recommend playing here staff is very friendly and the food is very good

Our group of 8 stayed in Cabin one and golfed several rounds over 3 days. While the accommodations are basic, it fit our needs just fine. The cabin by the lake had ample room for all and a nice fire pit near the lake. There is a full kitchen if you are inclined to cook but the food at the Beautiful Lodge was great. The Golf was outstanding, this is a well maintained course and a fun challenge for golfers of all abilities. The proshop staff were professional and well organized so you're in and out quickly and onto the first tee. The staff in the lounge were also fantastic including Manager Gail Burrows who did double duty helping with our group reservations and she was there bright and early to cook a great breakfast for our crew each day. A special salute to our nominee for Employee of the Year Diane who kept us laughing while providing top notch service. The Crazy Eights will be back for more Stay and Play fun.

Played early morning Wednesday and we were the only ones on the course aside from a few members. This is probably one of my favourite layouts I've played in Ontario - every hole is unique, carved out of the woods and rock. The signature par 3 is just flat out cool. Can understand why they're shooting up the Score golf rankings. Highly recommend.

Amazing hidden gem, must play. Layout is amazing and track was in great condition. Excellent staff.

Steve Harris

Course is great and in good shape but our round started late and then took a whopping 5 1/2 hours to play. No Marshall anywhere to be seen. Waited for over 30 minutes on the 10th tee. Very frustrating - spoiled what could have been a great experience.

We wanted to say that Gail and the staff at Seguin are amazing. We are a Professional DJ company and have had the chance to celebrate many couples weddings at Seguin Valley. Property is beautiful, food is amazing and very reasonable priced. Always a pleasure to share in couples memories.

Ryan Ferguson

We stayed and played here with a large group for a golf trip. Was a great course and conditions were amazing. Will definitely be going back. If you are not a single digit handicap, bring a lot of balls. This is a true test of golf! A good quote from one of the guys... Can someone cut down some trees, blast some rock and make the fairways wider please? Thanks. - Nate's Driver

Jeet Tulshi

5 star experience on the course! Played here with some buddies 7-16-20 and absolutely loved it. Priced at about $100, totally worth it! Challenging, scenic, stunning! The course was in immaculate shape and the limited contact I had with customer service was great! The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because I didn't use the facilities/restaurant due to COVID19. Highly recommended!

Beautiful fall colors, beautiful golf course

Hidden gem. Expansive property with each hole framed in its own natural setting. Amazing island type par 3!

Trevor Kadlec

Amazing golf course, mixed blend of beauty and challenging golf. Great staff at every level from parking lot attendants, to the pro shop and of course restaurant staff. Highly recommended.

Blue 97. This is my favourite course overall, even compared to the courses down in the GTA. Today the weather was bad but if you get lucky and the weather is good around Thanksgiving you’ll be blown away by the colours and the look of all the holes. My favourite holes are 7, 14 and 15, wish I could play it more than once a year but it is something I look forward too. The only thing they don’t have is a driving range but the nets are good for a warm up, you’ll need to since this is a hard course to play well from blue or back.

Hidden golf gem of Muskoka!

Ok, this place is nice but wear hiking shoes! Most of the time you need to stay on the cart paths. It's really hilly otherwise like an all terrain game. Really scenic with lots of bridges and now, fall colors. I wish people would fill in their divots. That's just wrong but the cart paths could use some attention. Lots of pot holes. Some of its paved where it's super steep. Nice to pave it all. The clubhouse is super nice. Food was good and beer cold. Some of the holes are SO high from the tee to the flag, really fun. I tried to capture in photos it. Will be back next year. Carts are new, really nice ride.

Garner McJannett

Amazing course with some stunning holes, it is a challenge though with the forest being right on the edge of the course.

David Byrne

amazing golf in beautiful Muskoka! Challenging course for sure!

Tim Favot

Amazing course! Honestly one of the neatest courses I’ve ever played. I played here coincidentally last fall and was blown away. This year I went back with a few friends for a stay and play. The price was incredible, we played three rounds and slept two nights in a cabin with a spectacular view. It genuinely feels like you’re staying at a cottage, then you step out on to an immaculate but secluded course. The service was amazing in every way. Every single person that worked there was so kind and the food was genuinely amazing! We’re going to make an annual trip of it for sure!

Jordan Mulligan

Dynamite golf course, friendly staff, great price. 5 star experience all the way through. The golf course is a really, really fun track to play, with every hole being a wow factor!!

Chris Fothergill

Definitely my favourite golf course of all time. A little on the pricey side but definitely worth it in my opinion. Each hole is incredible private, unique, and really captures the natural beauty of Parry Sound. Always seems to be in great condition too!

Daniel Ferguson

Beautiful challenging course with a price that can't be beat.

James Pileggi

Greg

Amazing scenery, 7th hole is breathtaking. Drive between 14 green and 15 tee seems like it is out of a movie.

Todd Gilroy

Fairway to green, everything was in great shape, the greens consistently rolled well....hat's off to the maintenance department!! Something to note for first time players...read the back of the score card as it tells you which tees to play by "average driver distance" and bring extra balls you will need them :-)

although it’s a nice course, the management is terrible. Need more staff in restaurant during busy summer

Rodney Ferriss

My son had his wedding September 9 2017. Was a beautiful day and the hall was perfect. Loved how great the food was. I would do the prim rib and chicken again. Thank you so much. The Ferriss family.

Absolutely amazing course! The most scenic in the Muskoka area (up there with Muskoka Bay and Rocky Crest). Each hole is unique and challenging and the signature hole 7th, a par three onto an island green featuring a floating drop area, is something that must be seen. Very friendly and helpful staff. Finished our round with a few beers on the patio overlooking the 18th. The log clubhouse is beautiful with a center piece featuring a cedar tree brought in from BC. I would recommend this course to anyone from a high handicapper to a scratch golfer!

Francois Grandbois

Great course! Excellent condition from tee to green. By far a fantastic golf experience for this 2020 season!

Donna Kurfiss

Most beautiful event place and wonderful hosts

Gary Verhaaff

Beautiful golf course! Absolutely breathtaking! Great service! Will definitely return

Nice course. Nice owners. Poor management

Barry Gillespie

Course was in great shape. Staff was very friendly

Saw a family of bears around hole 13 near the swamp at the later stage of our twilight round. Had to turn back. We got 2 rounds in that day. Bird chirps are probably the only sound you hear. Course was in great shape.

Derric Geerlinks

Beautiful course ????

Franco Silvestri

We did the stay and play for four rounds for a bachelor party. The course is really spectacular with many memorable holes. We heard it was top 100 in Canada. Exposed Canadian Shield everywhere. The staff and marshals were also great and accommodating. They even told us about a nice fishing spot near the course and cabins. Breakfast and dinner (stay and play) were also above my expectations. It is well organized. The cabins and bunkies we stayed in were cozy and clean. Greens are fast here and a lot of elevation changes, hills, and blind shots. Had an absolutely great time here. Great course.

Chris Pezzetta

A beautiful course, well maintained, great views. Customer service was quite possibly the worst I have ever experienced.... For the second year in a row, Our group of 16 did the play and stay for 2 nights where we rented all 3 of their cabins. The play and stay was suppose to include 3 rounds of golf (18 hole rounds), 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners. On the first day (Friday) 11 of the 16 people in our group played 18 holes and were done sooner that we expected so we decided to play another 9 before dinner and the rest of our group arrived (we figured we would even up (pay) later and that we had to wait for dinner because our entire group wasn't there yet anyway..... looking back we should have told someone of management that this was our plan, but still... not the end of the world as other people were still on the course). Once we finished our 9 holes the rest of our group arrived shortly after and we went into the dinning area to eat, but not without rude remarks and comments from some of the staff members that we were late for dinner even though our entire group didn't arrive until our golf ended. Once dinner was done they made us pay the full replay rate before we left dinner.... which was fine, but in my opinion we had already paid for 3 rounds and this is something you can even up at the end of the weekend.....Anyway..... Day 2 was the real disaster. We had booked this play and stay 6 months in advance and planned to do our 2 round golf tournament on the Saturday (same as last year where we teed off at 8am and 2pm). Before our 1st round even started they told us we were not allowed to play the Saturday afternoon round because they booked the afternoon tee times out and in one of their reasoning's said "the other groups are paying more per round than you guys"!!!! After round one we talked to management and said we could go out at 4pm (it was mid September and it gets dark at 730). They also gave us lunch vouchers in between rounds for a burger or hot dog and a bag of chips to substitute for that evenings "dinner" because they had a wedding booked (same thing happened last year) but we just let it go and ordered pizza for the entire group that night. We waited an hour to get our lunch because they had prioritized the people that were passing between hole 9-10. Finally our afternoon tee times comes and there are no carts so we are waiting around to get on the course. Once we got on the course we played 6 holes and we got hit by torrential down pours so our round was over...... we had planned to play a round Sunday morning which they charged us a replay rate for, even though at that point we had played less than our 3 guaranteed rounds (Friday 18 + 9 and Saturday 18 + 6) and we had already paid a replay rate on the Friday...... Sunday morning the majority of the group stay and paid for the "extra" round but I could not do it out of principle...... At the end of the day our group basically wrote the golf course a cheque for 9K and we felt like we were at the bottom of their priority list. Very disappointing as we all were looking forward to this weekend for a long time. Hopefully they get some good management in to fix up the organization around there because the course itself is a pretty special and unique place.

Played a couple of times last fall and loved the course. When our US golf plans got cancelled we booked a weekend stay and play at Seguin. Overall a fantastic experience, love the track and the customer service is outstanding. We stayed in Cabin 2 - these cabins are for a group of guys golfing - not weekend away with your girlfriend type of place. Perfect for us . Just a heads up - there wasn't any utensils or plates in the cabin. I highly recommend this course for golf and for the stay and play package.

Dj McPhail

The course was in excellent condition. However the greens were way to slow for this caliber of course. The pins were the same positions on Wednesday as they were on Tuesday so that was annoying.. the customer service is terrible probably the worst I've seen. Especially the older lady in the cart in the parking lot driving around telling golfers to hurry up that they want to get people out early!? We booked a tee time for a reason not so that we could rush to get out there early. Also we had a no show one day. All paid for but just couldn't make the tee time. So the golf course put a single greens feer out with us. So they double dipped as our 4th was already paid for. Very annoying.

Bob Willier

Please be careful not to risk your wedding day on this venue. Seguin Valley is a beautiful golf course with huge potential for hosting weddings. Unfortunately, the management is atrocious and problem solving is not in their wheelhouse. When you have an issue to discuss they will dodge your phone calls and emails with no follow up or explanation. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. Unfortunately, I was forced to write this review when simple communication could have solved my frustrations. Do not risk it, no bride or groom should have to request being treated like a valued client after paying for a wedding at any venue.

I have played many golf courses worldwide, including 35 of the top 100 in Canada. With over a dozen rounds played there over the years, i would rate Seguin one of the most scenic and underrated layouts i have ever played! Mike the owner, takes great pride in his incredible course and spares no money to deliver a great golf experience too all that visit.

Trevor Bailey

Played this course first week of July while on holiday from England. I thought it was fantastic the way it has been cut into the rock and forest. Fairways were luss greens quick and true a great days golf in a splendid setting. Can't wait for the next time we are visiting our relatives so I can play it again. Trevor Bailey Durham UK 4/7/13

Golfed it this past weekend with 7 other golfers. Well overpriced ($111.00 taxes in is far too much for a course like this) for the condition and layout (some dumb holes). Service was okay and marshals were always looking to have a golf conversation with you anytime they drove by. You are better off heading to the Ridge at Manitou or Parry Sound where the prices reflect the golf course.

Along with nine other members of The Diamond in the Ruff golf club, I played this beautiful golf course the last week in July.. The course was in the best condition I have seen it over the past 3 years.. greens running fast and even, fairways dry and well cut. A very courteous and informative starter got us under way and warned us about Mom and her two bear cubs who were scouting the course. We stayed for dinner in the beautiful full log clubhouse. An extensive menu is available and the food was great. Staff were welcoming and professional. Many thanks to Ann and Michael Feldman for all of your hard working in making Sequin Valley a fun golf experience William Currie Port Carling, Ontario July 2013

Gorgeous place. Here for a Christmas party, food and staff were awesome.

Max Yukht

$120 for twilight and another $40 to rent clubs and you get a set of Strata clubs.. Absolute game ruiner... If i had known I could've got a better set for the same money from Play it Again, no joke.... They give you a plastic putter.. $100+ course and $40 to rent to get garbage to play with

Dave Oneil

Scenic, challenging, well maintained, although most of the bunkers could use more sand. Perhaps due to recent storms. Would love to play again

Bailey MacLachlan

Beautiful course. Played here for the first time and it was incredible. Even when you're having a bad game, the views are worth it. Couldn't think of a better way to spend the day. Staff are very friendly and make you feel like you're part of the family. Can't wait to come back.
