I wish there was a less than 1 star review. This so called NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION marketed on their website 100,000 GTINS in 900$+ tax per year. I called them. Verified and went for 100 GTINS. I was told that the upgrade is smooth and easy. When I requested an upgrade same year I was told that only 10,000 GTIN prefix will be issued. Their attitude does not seem to be of a Non Profit company. Same folks working in this company from years and are probably used to the practices. I am suing them for using deceitful marketing tactics. I dont care how big they are but as long as there is injustice in the World people like me will be there to raise voice too. Eileen you should not make false claims. By the way there is a cancellation fee of 150$ to terminate the plan. Also anotehr 250$+ I believe to setup Company prefix. 500$ a year is for 100 GTINS which is separate. My main argument with them is 100,000 GTINS which is what everyone in my industry has been given. I sell Clothing Articles, Fitness Equipment as well as Home Accessories like Mattresses, Bed, etc. I used my GTINS for Fitness and I have nothing left to be able to assign to Clothing or Home Industry I had to ask favours from Friends to share their GTINS in the same Industry. Shame on GS1 Canada!

I was a GS1 Canada user for many years for one barcode, but had to get 10 when I joined. I paid over the last few years $170.00 per year for basically nothing. Yes they deserve 5 stars when you join them, but once in watch out. Their policies and procedures are ridiculous. Their customer service is pathetic. They say they are a non-profit organization, I believe it, they must be loosing customers like crazy. The sad part is that they have a monopoly and they are the only ones that can issue a barcode in Canada. I am lucky, I am a small retailer and will not need barcodes and will never get one again, I rather put a sticker on a box with a home made code and use this code in my Point-of-sale system. What a sad organization they are.

WARNING: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I cancelled a renewal and they confirmed it was processed. Then they charged me for it and sent the invoice to collections. By reading other reviews, I see that i'm not the only one!

I've been trying to cancel my service for over one year and they still bill my company after dozens of emails going back and forth, and I even mailed out a letter to the Toronto Office to cancel the service. Very crooked business ethics. They don't want to cancel the subscription unless you pay. I hope they take me to court.

Dealing with such companies, it makes me refuse to live with humans. There is only money for these people (unfortunately for those who do business, they have no other companies to turn to), total monopoly. I have to turn to my lawyer to hear me say "you are right not to pay them, you are in your right". Without a signed contract, only lies and untruths. Karma is at everyone's doors, sooner or later the time comes for you "don't worry" !!

Terrible and frustrating. The lack of actual helpful service from Eileen has left our issue unresolved with no one else to talk to. Something that should be easily solved has been made almost impossible from someone who really seems like they're going out of their way to not be helpful and waste everyone's time. I'd give a 0 star if I could and if you have the option not to deal with GS1 I'd say take it. Given the way they are setup, like us, you likely have to use them. Prepare yourself for incompetence.

We never received our annual invoice or a call from GS1 for a overdue invoice , they send it to collection , we had to pay collection agency and still our account is blocked , i sent at less 6 email, called 2 time and it still not resolved, very poor service, we should be able to put a start in the minus
