Golf is good beer is great. Cheers!
Overpriced. You can play the same quality courses for less in the area.
Went here for a golf tourney recently. Good condition on the course. Food afterwards was okay. Careful bringing your own refreshments on to the course because the marshalls are all on you like a hawk, they all have headsets and creep from the bushes watching your every move. Beer prices are fair, and the beer cart girl did come around fairly often.
A relatively flat, wide open course. Offers a solid challenge, especially from the tips. Definitely recommend the house burger at the end of the round, it was insanely good
Surprised at how nice Hornby Glen is given the price. Beautiful conditions and the greens are challenging.
Pace was smooth the greens was well kept the weather was nice
I had a great round at Hornby. The course is in particularly good shape. The pace of play was good. We finished our round in 4 hours.
Not worth it for the high green fees. Only good for beginners, not much deviation from hole to hole. Perhaps if you get it at a discounted price it's ok.
Great place and Great staff. We have had tournaments there for the last 15 years
Course is always in good shape and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Very good course for the money. Maintained well. Worth playing for the price
The course, particularly the greens is in fantastic shape. Great round, friendly pro shop staff. Not too busy.
Good course, can be slow play. Not for low handicappers but challenging in spots.
Nice course. Fairways are open and the rough is manageable for beginner to novice players. Greens were in nice shape.
Not a challenging course, not busy in mid of Oct.
Good course. Friendly staff, very rough roughs.
Very friendly staff, course very well maintained.
Great golf course. Challenging without being too difficult. Great greens and fairways.
If you enjoy paying $60 to play a round of golf with no drive cart, no food or drink service and being harassed by staff all day in 35 degree Celsius weather this is the course for you. We had to sign a covid waiver upon entry which is fine. But then we had a marshal loitering around our vehicle as we were getting our cleats on and bags ready. The marshal was pretending to make small talk however his only prerogative was to ensure we didn't sneak a beer in our bags. God forbid we have a beer while playing a round of golf. Between nines I left my bag near the 10th hole and walked to my car to literally change my sweat soaked clothes and eat a sandwich I had to bring for myself since they had no food service. Guess what, the marshal was right on my tail pretending to make small talk again. I'm not sure what he thought I was gunna do, I left my bag behind and I didn't have any secret pockets in my shorts and t-shirt to sneak a case of beer in. Maybe he just wanted to watch me change my clothes. Then walking to the 10th the general manager makes a comment about us taking too much time between nines. I politely let him know that if they served food and drinks and had drive carts, this wouldnt be an issue. We completed the back nine and began packing our cars when it started to pour rain. My friends I was playing with were in a car next to me and we were having a conversation while waiitng for the rain to let down so we could finish changing shoes and putting our equipment away. Well who pulls up in a drive cart in the pouring rain. Al the marshal. He proceeded to tell us the rules are that they don't want people lingering in the parking lot after a round and that we needed to leave. We politely told him we were waiting for the rain to let up so we could change shoes and put our equipment away properly as we had just quickly tossed our clubs and pull carts into the backseat of our vehicles but Al had none of that and insisted we leave the parking lot and then sat in the rain watching us to ensure we left. This is an absolute disgrace of a course. Probably the only course in Ontario that isn't allowing paying customers drive carts in 35 degree temperature. Yet the Marshal's were all driving around in carts. To their credit they offered us a free water bottle twice over 18 holes. Yay.
Course is in great shape and well worth it for the price. Overall great experience
Amazing people and an amazing course. Great day
Great course, well maintained. Good price for 9 holes with a cart
Wide fairways, huge greens, great for any level of golfer
Have played this course 3 or 4 times. Always enjoyable. Great value. Can be windy!
Great staff, course is in great shape! Only $34 to play twilight, such a great deal. BEST FALL GOLF IN ONTARIO!
A well laid track that offers quite the challenge. Keeping the ball in play I is a must for a decent score. Great friendly staff make the round of golf a pleasure
Fun course but isn't really forgiving. Long par 3s over 200 yards.
It was my first time golfing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My shoulder was sore the next day though.
Nice course. Very forgiving holes
Doesn’t look like much when you arrive but it was a fair course . There is no driving range here so go to one before you show up. It’s about $15 too much. They don’t like single walk ons here until after 2pm so now you know: hence why they had to work me into the back nine rotation - the staff seem friendly and try to accommodate you. Pace of play was excellent yet I didn’t see any Marshall. The best thing about this corse are the greens - excellent difficulty and well maintained- shot ten strokes less than usual because I got stuck playing whites but the blues are likely the way to go here.
Solid Golf course, well maintained, Greens✌ .
Played the course last week and found it surprisingly good. I always thought it was a short and flat course but its anything but that. Its a good track and in great shape. The staff is fantastic, the pace of play is great and the Marshall is clearly ensuring everyone is having a good game. The value is great and I will be back soon.
Ok course, layout not what I expected but it worked. A very hot day, fairways ok, rough was terrible, not groomed well, greens were slow. Might play here again...
It may not be the prettiest 18 holes, but from the pro-shop, to starter, marshalls, to F&B staff, the service is excellent and super friendly. Playing men's nights on a Thurs afternoon I've played more sub 4hr rounds than over - and having worked in the industry, I can tell you how rare that is. The course itself offers plenty of challenges as, if you didn't know, golf can be a pretty tricky game to master! there's an iron-only, use-your-own-balls range which is unique, and practice putting greens at the 1st and 10th. price point can't be beaten!
I would consider this an expensive fall course to pay. It came to $75 for a round with a cart mid October when it was 9C out.... Other than cost, the course was nice. It had a good mix of par 3s, 4s, and 5s! It also had a good mix of dog leg rights and lefts! We had an issue with one of our carts, died on the 6th hole but the drove a cart out to us when we called the club house! The new one was good after that! Fairways are pretty open, if you have a hook or slice will likely end up on the other fairway!
Way Over priced-Brutal Customer Service This course is in decent shape but is overpriced compared to others. The first hole has a valley and the starter seems determined to have players tee off while the group in front is still in the valley. Very dangerous approach for everyone. The starter also lacks people skills. He seems annoyed you are actually playing there. He sets a poor image for the course. Marshall also seems super obsessed with pace of play hassling groups to play quickly. Course is not busy, very strange. I don't think Management understands the game.
Great course, Amar and Robbie are great coaches
Was told by a guy in the Pro Shop that a BIG storm was coming, so we cancelled our foursome, even though we had driven over an hour to get there. He said he had seen it on the radar. My wife and I went to Halton shopping Mall instead. No rain, no storm, wasted our time. Suggest ProShop should stick to golf rather than amateur weather forecasting.
Nice course but marshal needs to chill. Harassing us multiple times over the first 4 holes about pace of play when we're playing best ball and finished in under 4 hours. Fastest 18 i've played this year but we're slow?? I won't be back.
Course is in great shape and friendly service.
Course in great shape. No senior rates had to pay 77.00 dollars with cart. Not open mondays and tuesdays. Looks like they don't need the senior players.
Great staff, good course and overall good experience
Great course, very friendly staff
Nice golf course. Not a real tough course but you need to keep the ball in play to score well. Greens are very big and and fast if you go the day without a three putt you have had a good day
Not worth 75.00 wet muddy grass not cut the state of this course luck to charge 50.00
Avoid unless you are looking to be chased around by the Marshall all round. This place will leave you with a bad taste in your mouth.
We played Hornby 2 days ago. Very dissapointed in course condition. Used to be a nice track, but since Steve the greenskeeper took over, his life mission seems to be saving gas. As a result, the fairways are approx 10 yards narrower on each side. Much harder to hit for the average golfer. Also, they don't cut all of the fairway ( tee to green) on 4 different holes. You can be in the middle of the fairway, and be in the rough. I've never seen that before, anywhere, in 58 years of playing golf. The rough is so long that you almost have to be overtop of your ball to find it. The card says white tees are approx 6000 yards, but the white tee blocks are up to where the reds used to be. Now whites are approx 5600 yards. Far too short for the money they charge. The blues are at where the whites used to be. Hornby is now a B- track at best. The general manager needs to take a more active role in the golf course maintenance. What a shame.
Very well maintained public course. More challenging than it looks due to the long grass making it easy today lose balls. Greens are playable, and hazards are reasonably layed out.
I played this hidden gem two days ago, and let me tell you... the GREENS are the best greens I've played this summer. They had just recovered from aeration and were cut and rolled to perfection. They roll true and are quick. Its a fun course that allows for scoring if you play well. Pace of play was spot on and it was a busy afternoon. The carts are comfy and the staff is super friendly. The food in the dining room was delicious as well... Not to mention the beers were cold! Such a good experience I am going to come here weekly!
Nice open track with very big greens. Prime 3 putt stuff lol. Greens roll super fast when its dry discourse is well looked after. Great to walk.
Terable customer service stay away from here unless you like being treated like scum!!
Place is a joke, don’t waste your money. Management don’t care about your experience, don’t give them any business.
Public links style course in great shape this year. Saw some nice nature while unsuccessfully looking for my ball in the plentiful, long fescue. They wouldn't let me use the putting green when I showed up 30 minutes before my round, which I thought was weird. Overall good value and a nice course.
Course was in great shape, very challenging, super fast greens.
Had a good time here, greens were fast and got faster as the sun got stronger. Course in Excellant shape. 4 hour round.
A bit of a goat ranch, younger guys working in the proshop were super friendly. Will come back again... Thanks! "A day without sunshine is like, you know, night." -Steve Martin
Really nice course in Mississauga with decent green fees. The greens were really nice but challenging to putt
If you really want to learn , this one is the best option.
I am a disabled person. with proper MTO issued valid Accessible Parking Permit (P/D Permanent). The cashier staff at the clubhouse told me not to park at the handicap parking spot save them for the elders, judged by my age, since I am 31 yrs old. There was no one occupying the spot when we finished 9 nor after 18. My questions to the clubhouse staff are: 1. I am not allowed to be disabled, since I'm relatively young? 2. Is there a minimal age limit on be disabled? 3. The clubhouse staff has the power to say who is handicapped and who is not? Who should use the handicap parking who should not? I felt discrimnated against.
Biggest disappointment in the GTA! At one time this was a very nice public golf course with green fees at very reasonable rates, friendly and courteous staff, and outstanding greens. What happened? The current "part-time" approach to running this course suggests that the ownership and management are not interested in running a public golf course any longer. Is it possible that this minimal effort means that Hornby Glen property is destined for commercial or residential development in the very near future? Is a quiet re-zoning in the works? Dear Owner and Manager, if you truly are in the golfing business start acting the part and provide full service to the public that have supported your establishment for years. p.s.The only reason you are receiving 1 star is because Google defaults to that. You don't deserve any stars until you shape up!
