Excellent golf course. Challenging but fair.

Nice course. Greens in good shape. Long holes with no shortage of opportunity to put ball in bush though fairways are wide. Nice that they have premium beer in cart, like smithwicks. Location so handy by the beaches.

Grand Pines is a very fun course! If you hit your ball into the trees, just let it go... The mosquitos in there will eat you alive.

Jaime Chinchilla

Great game of golf

Really nice course. Not a single bad hole on the course. Nice to see a country course make the effort and hire a good architect to make sure the course is done right from the beginning. The course was in good condition and the green where very good. Maybe a little on the slow side but in really good shape. To be fair they had had a lot of rain the pervious few days so they where a bit on the soft side. This course is really good value for your buck and I look forward to playing it again

Wray Johnson

Nice course, great shape....very reasonable green fees

ian keating

best staff you could find plays well always in good shape kudos to grounds keepers

Wow, what a deal on the weekdays on both green fees and rounds of drinks on the cart. Definitely worth the trip. The course was in fantastic shape when we went, as always. A challenging layout for the ladies. It doesn't hurt to be a long hitter here, but you really don't have to be if you keep it in play and putt half decently.

The course is beautiful and challenging. Well maintained greens and fairways .They also have a great junior program during the late afternoon/early evening hour for a affordable price.

Great shape

It's a very scenic drive to play this challenging, forest-lined and reasonably priced golf course. Depending on your choice of 4 tee boxes, it can be very difficult to score low here; the greens are very large, undulating and roll quick - but very fair and consistent. After golf, nearby Lake Winnipeg offers some world class beaches and campgrounds. This is a tee box view of one of the par 3s. Enjoy!

James Kleiner

Very nice golf course

The only thing I saw less than my ball was the bar cart

Kyle Jordanov

Fun to play. Some tight fairways and lots of opportunity to lose a ball. August 2017 Edit: Not sure if it's because they have tons of coupons they're giving out at Golf Town, or poor tee-time management, but this course was incredibly busy in the middle of the week. Backed up three groups deep on some holes and waited for a good 15 minutes for some shots. Marshalls (as per every course) did very little. The course itself is great, but they really need to help out with pace of play.

Kyle Radtke

Great golf course, one of the best in Manitoba just North of Winnipeg on highway 59. They have lessons for kids, a kids golf free promotion all summer and one of the best kept golf courses in Manitoba. There is a great bar/ restaurant across the highway as well.

Dragos Nina

Great course. 1 hour and 20 min away from Winnipeg. Fast greens and tricky fairways.

Miss Mandah

Course is decent but very slow play.

Super friendly staff. Helped my buddy find his misplaced club. Nice course.

Todd Allard

Considering lack of rain, greens and fairways in pretty good condition. Excellent staff. Marshall Dennis...rocks!

Martha Cinch

Had a great round of golf there. Greens were in great shape and everything was so green. Very plush greens, had to land on the green as there was no roll on any of the fairways. Very friendly staff.

My first time playing at Grand Pines was this year. I have to say I was greatly disappointed. Course was in terrible condition with the greens being in "ok" shape. The fairways were the same as the rough, concrete like. I would say it was basically unplayable and would rather have spend my $66 on something else.

Billy Bob

Great course great condition for all the rain there has been.

Chris

Course was challenging and greens were nice, but fairways were in poor shape. Very dry and mostly brown dead spots all over. Friends I played with said they'd never seen the course in this bad of shape. Disappointing as the layout is really interesting and it would have been an awesome course had the grass been watered and lush. Also, after we finished the front nine, the marshall let off a group of 8 golfers (4 of whom were children) cut in front of us on the 10th hole. Group wouldn't let us play through so we skipped hole 11. Came back later to 11th hole to finish it later on and got yelled at by the marshall and accused of trying to play extra holes before dark. When I drive all the way from the city to play at a course that's supposedly one of the "best in the province", I expect better conditions than this, and better treatment than this. I paid for 18 holes, I'm playing all 18. And letting an 8-some of non-golfers cut in front of an 18-hole-paying group doesn't make your customer feel valued. Not planning to return, unfortunately. Definitely not worth the long drive.

O'Neil

Good course. Challenging in its own way

A very nice course in cabin country. There is a driving range and a putting green to warm up before the round. The times I have played here, the pace has been very slow, which is not an issue if you're out at the cabin taking it easy but can be a little annoying if you're just out for the round. A little over priced for what you get. They don't have spring/fall rates here, which is why I can only give this place 3 stars. Making people pay full price for a course that isn't in prime shape just doesn't feel right. A decent course in cabin country.

I was very unimpressed with the staff. My wife had a low blood sugar episode at hole 8, so we stopped to eat and get her sugars back up to continue the last nine. After eating and completing the 9th hole we reached the clubhouse. A staff member scolded us for allowing 4 groups of golfers to pass us instead of making them wait (outdoor temperature at 10am was 27 celcius and minimal wind). The staff member stated "we don't do that here." Then stated due to covid-19 we are not allowed to let people pass. This was not explained to us nor was it advertised. On their score card it states to allow faster players to pass. (we are also beginners, takes longer to complete). When we finally reached the end on the 18th hole. We were approached by the same employee, upset we allowed another group to pass us. Then tried to make small talk as he knew we clearly irritated. The other group was an elderly couple and out of respect and due to the high heat. We agreed to allow them to pass. (All covid regulations were maintained) Then when we dropped the cart off, a different employee angrily told us to move the cart to a different location "it needs to be cleaned due to covid, park it over there". We know it needs to be cleaned, however we were never told were to park the cart and there was no signs to help guide the patrons on where to park the "dirty carts", so we parked it were the other carts were from previous person. (This person was not scolded). We cleaned out the garbage and my wife gave it a quick wipe with sanitization wipes. The golf course itself was extremely wet, needed rubber boots instead of golf shoes. This is where I choose to spend my 41st birthday as we had never golfed here before and it is close to home. I am extremely disappointed in the treatment we received! People in my community spoke negatively about how they were treated in the past. We choose to give the place a chance and base our return on our experience. I can guarantee. I will NOT be returning due feeling like I was not wanted there and like I was doing something terrible wrong. I will definitely be sharing experience others.

Update on this course 2021 it was back to the beautiful course I remember. Well done 2021 Unfortunately this course was so dry the fairways were in terrible shape. The greens were great. This course could be amazing if they took some time to water the fairways.
