No Clown holes, and it plays very well. The replay was cheap, so I played 36 holes in my day. It was my first time but I felt on familiar ground, it's because the architect is Wilson, himself a student of Thompson, the challenges evoke Arvida, Montebello, Lachute at times. Thank you to the friendly staff for the welcome and service! (Original) J'ai adoré! Le design est super! Entre champs vallonnés et incursions en forêt sur les flancs de collines, le relief fait entièrement partie du jeu ici, les verts sont excellents. Aucun trous de Clown, et ça se joue très bien. Le replay était pas cher, j'ai donc joué 36 trous dans ma journée. C'était ma première fois mais je me sentais en terrain connu, c'est à cause que l'architecte est Wilson, lui même élève de Thompson, les défis évoquent Arvida, Montebello, Lachute par moment. Merci au personnel sympathiques pour l'accueil et le service!

This golf course is mainly interesting due to it's scenery and landscape, if you ask me. Every hole is unique and challenging, nothing like those dull courses that are all flat and straight. Also well maintained. A little far from Montreal, but worth the trip. Staff is also very kind and friendly.

The hotel is a little dated but still kept in great shape. We did have a few issues like a vent that kept falling off covering some of the equipment for the water heater I believe. Otherwise it was a good stay.

Played here yesterday (we had some rain and dealt with it) and the course was in fairly good condition. The greens were above average with a couple of rough spots but nothing to be overly concerned about. Front 9 is long by most standards and I hit driver and a long iron into most par 4s (to be fair I'm not the longest driver of the ball averaging maybe 230 off the tee). Plenty of elevation changes (glad I had a cart) and wide fairways. Back 9 is much shorter but a lot tighter so don't let the shorter par 4s lure you into that hope and a prayer with your driver. Play more conservative and find your ball. This is a mandatory power cart course and the cart I had was in good condition but I wish more places would invest in carts with the rain awnings at the back. The value for price was fair and the pace of play was quick (but it was raining so fewer golfers out there). Returning Sunday so will see how that goes. Must remember to bring a few extra balls...just in case... Staff was friendly but parking was limited and I could see how this would be an issue on very busy days but I might just not be aware of overflow parking area; this course is attached to a hotel so my lack of knowledge could account for this. Overall I would recommend a round here but bring a few extra balls.

Great to see the improvements in course maintenance. It such a visually beautiful location. I know we're not supposed to go into the sand traps, but, it happens, so it would be great if you could rake the stones out to save our clubs a bit. Good job...keep it up!

Beautiful course. Very scenic. You have to take a cart (required I believe) as the course is both large and very hilly. Not the cheapest option for a round but the views are terrific and the course itself is well groomed.

The hotel is beautiful, the lake is beautiful the accommodations are fantastic but there is a couple things they could do better. There's an indoor pool but not an outdoor pool and at the lake even though they have some boats they could have lounge chairs. I still gave the hotel 5 stars because if you play golf this is a perfect hotel for you

We played golf on June 13,2019. I have been playing golf for over 40 years and have never seen such bad greens.We were not warned of the bad conditions by the ff and the price charged for such bad conditions is ridicilous !!!

Always enjoyable. We have stayed many times and in all seasons. Nice rooms, especially the 2 level suites. Great staff, fantastic golf course, great cross country skiing and close enough to the major ski hills. Frankly, I debated posting this because this jewel is the best kept secret in Quebec.

Pretty good golf place. But odds are the kitchen will be closed and you wont have food. Normally it would not be an issue, however after golfing for 3 or 4 hours you get pretty hungry.

I would like to share my bad experience at Lac Carling. I bought a voucher at the Golf Show in 2019 which included 1 night stay for 2, 3 course dinner for 2, breakfast for 2 and unlimited golf for two. We were not able to use the voucher last year so it was extend for the 2020 season. The director of the hotel would not honor the voucher as outlined even though we provided the email which indicated that the voucher was valid for the season 2020. We had to pay for our dinner, we had to pay for the difference in price of the room, as well as, we had to pay for an upgrade, which we did not request, because we had a dog and pet friendly rooms were only on the first floor. We bought this voucher in the past and never had to pay any additional fees, it was all inclusive. This was supposed to be a two day golf get away for my husband and I and it turned into a very disappointing experience. The golf course on the other hand honored the unlimited golf, the owner was very nice and accommodating, he even came around and handed water to golfers... a very nice touch. So I would recommend the golf course very highly but the hotel do not recommend. I will never stay there again.

Nice staff and the course has a lot of potential given the landscape and great views. Unfortunately the course is in terrible shape. The greens are extremely spotty and bumpy. It's a shame as the course came recommended from friends who had played in years past who said it was a great track. Definitely won't be back any time soon if unless they invest some money in repairing the greens. Was not worth the 60$ on a Saturday.

Interesting course to play.... lots of challenging holes. The greens could be kept in better repair. They are hard enough because of placement and undulations and they don't need this unnecessary distraction - sandy soil and patchy. Be ready to lose a stroke or two. The golf carts need upgrading. Beautiful though!!

Le seul hic le terrain se croise souvent, possibilité pour des petits morveux de sautées le 18 pour revenir au 9e trou sans aucun contrôle du club. Joute rapide jusqu’au 8e….. Un groupe de 4 s’est s’est inséré entre le foursome qui nous précédaient et le notre. Le deuxième neuf s’est joué dans une attente interminable….

It was horrible. Service was lacking. Don't really know who runs the place. Rooms were seriously dated. Won't speak about the food except for the bacon. Golf course is lovely. All other amenities were cancelled. Only real activities were walking and golfing. Will nevet go back.
